20 Best Shoes For Stationary Bike (2023 Updated)

Oh my goodness. I have casually done indoor spin classes for the past few years but always rented shoes as I couldn’t justify buying them when I could just rent for free. Recently I decided I wanted my own shoes and was dead set on getting TIEMs but then decided I wanted something with a little more structure and with a BOA dial since my current studio’s shoes have them and I have found them useful.

I ordered the purple in these shoes and y’all. when I opened the box and saw the color, I was in LOVE. I used them for the first time today and was so pleasantly surprised at how comfy they were. I normally wear a 7.

5-8 (even up to 8. 5 in running shoes). Per the size chart, I ordered a 40, and it fits perfectly! I was actually worried it would be too small when I first put them on with my athletic socks (Balega), which are thicker than regular ones.

Was totally fine during class! Also, I’m used to using delta clips, but these require SPD clips. For some reason, I found them way easier to clip out of the bike with than the delta clips, so that’s also a huge win in my book.

Super happy with my purchase and can’t wait to continue using them!.

My husband and I have been road cycling for roughly 10 years. During that time I have owned 6 pairs of cycling shoes and had just accepted that all cycling shoes are uncomfortable. I saw these in a Backcountry ad and thought I’d give them a go as the price tag was reasonable and I hoped the Boa dial would provide customized adjustment.

They arrived quickly and when I slipped them on I was amazed by how comfy they were and that the Boa dial let me easily adjust them to just the right snugness. Honestly, when we are cycling I am not even aware that I am wearing them.

Another nice feature is their airiness which keeps my feet from sweating and they dry out quickly when we get caught in the rain. I am so in love with these shoes I just ordered a second pair so I will have these for years to come.

Altogether I tried three different indoor bike shoes. However, this shoe won hands down w/a great fit and a good-looking shoe to use w/BOWFLEX C6 INDOOR BIKE! I wear an 8. 5 shoe but needed a 7. 5 in this shoe.

Light shoe, footbed feels great, recessed cleat channels & full rubber soles, dial laces make for EASY AND QUICK ON & OFF! Will only work w/SPD cleats (not included).

I really love these shoes. I teach regular cycle and also cycle & strength/cycle bootcamp style classes, and these are the best cycle shoes that I could have gotten. They make it very easy to attach the cleats, very easy to slip on, the fit is adjustable and comfortable, the shoe is sturdy and well-made, and I have a much better ride and workout than I did compared to just wearing tennis shoes.

If you are looking for great cycle shoes and/or great cycle cleated shoes that can be worn for versatile cycle classes, then these are it. I really appreciate being able to get off the bike and walk around to grab water, get a sweat towel, and do strength workouts combined with cycle training with ease.

I also feel that I am getting a better workout on the bike. They allow for better foot placement and focus through my legs. I am just a happy customer. I look forward to trying the new outdoor cycle shoes in the future!.

Purchased a pair of these shoes for my wife for Christmas. She had previously read through reviews and decided that these spin shoes were what she wanted. On the website it suggests sizing a half size down from your regular shoe size (she wears a size 6 in practically everything and has a very normal, somewhat narrow foot) so we went with 5.

5 sizing. Upon receiving them she tried them on and they ended up being incredibly tight and uncomfortable at the point they would be unwearable. You would think it’s not the biggest deal to get the sizing wrong EXCEPT for the fact that they charge $75 USD for shipping and duties (at the time was about $95 CAD) which is non-refundable and they make you pay for return shipping (cost was about $27 CAD with Canada Post) bringing it to $122 CAD just to try on a pair of shoes that wouldn’t fit based on their websites recommendation.

My wife really likes the look of the shoe and wants to re-order in a size 6 but is extremely hesitant as if those don’t fit, being out another $120 CAD ($240 CAD total) to return them once more with nothing to show for it isn’t the most appetizing scenario.

It is what it is and it is clearly stated on the website, but just wanted my fellow international buyers to know the cost of the risk of them not fitting properly (even according to how they should fit on the website).

These shoes are pretty but for the price I expect more consistency and better customer service. After reading reviews I was super confused about whether to size up or down. I’m typically a 9. 5/ 10, and usually always 10 or higher in tennis shoes so I went with a 10.

Dry fit was great. Walking around the house wonderful. However after one class these loosened up and now I can’t even do mat exercises in them because my foot in slipping out. It has been 2 days but unfortunately I can’t return because of their no cleat installation rule.

Considering it took installing the cleat and riding to realize how quickly they stretch out, that’s a pretty unfair rule. Disappointed is an understatement.

I’ve yet to really wear these in anger but my first impressions are pretty positive. I’m a bog standard UK size 10 and find that EUR size 45 fits me perfectly – I have another pair of Shimano shoes and a pair of NorthWave, that are both size 45 and perfect fits.

They are however MTB shoes. This is my first pair of road shoes and whilst they fit fine in terms of length, and will fasten, they do seem slightly narrow. I appreciate that road shoes may well be more sleak than MTBs anyway, and that they might just feel odd to begin with.

The shoes have a good sole, which is pretty stiff and certainly good enough for general riding. I don’t really need a pair of high performance shoes, but I’ll still go for the best quality for what I need.

I’m a fan of Shimano shoes and that’s why I’ve got these.

These are my first cycling shoes and honestly I didn’t expect them to be comfortable. It’s uncomfortable to ride with cleats for a first few days. On my first 200km ride I fell thrice as I forgot I had cleats on but by my next 300 km ride I got the hang of it and these shoes performed superbly in the entire 300 km of wet weather.

After so much of rough use, didn’t find a scratch on them and they appear as good as new after the first wash. Happy I went with the Navy color as it looks suttle yet stands out of the black ones.

Have had these for about 2 months using both inside and outside and I have no complaints. The velcro straps work well and keep my foot secure. I’m a size 9 in pretty much all other shoes, and the size 9 in these cycling shoes fits very well.

If you’re going to using with thin cycling socks, you could consider going a half size down, but not necessary. Fits pretty well true to size.

First and foremost, you MUST size up 1 full size from whatever size Nike sneaker (or your usual size sneaker). I wear a 9. 5 in almost all shoes and Nike sneakers w/ the exception of some Nike gusseted tongue sneakers I wear a 10.

I have ordered 2 pairs of these both in size 10. 5 and they fit perfect. Definitely could not have fit in a 10 (some reviews say they only sized up 1/2 size). I have been cycling for years and I own many pairs of road bike cycling shoes.

I use these only for indoor cycling, one to teach class and another for my Peloton (note: does not come wirh cleats & need to purchase SPD cleats for spin/cycle and Delta for Peloton). These shoes are very comfortable and very breathable.

I like to wear them moreso then many of the high end cycling shoes I wear for riding outdoors because their so easy to put on, clip in, breathable, light weight and fun looking! I also had ankle & foot surgeries and these feel amazing and don’t bother me like some of my other road shoes.

Love them! Highly recommend. Also recommend a good cleat like Shimano as well of your using them heavily. Bought thr pink & neon yellow/green.

This is a long review but read it if you have questions about WHAT SIZE TO ORDER. These are great shoes. They look great and after 4 month of almost daily use they seem to be really holding up-even with my clumsiness at clipping into the pedal.

That said, my ONLY problem with them is that they absolutely RUN SMALL. I had read that in other reviews but I just chalked it up to some people just being unsure about their actual size or being more picky than I am.

Well, I was wrong…it is true. They run small. I usually wear a size 9. 5. Pretty unwaveringly. I can force a cute shoe to work for me if I just really like them and the only available size is a 10 but…9.

5 is pretty solid as my size. When these shoes arrived in a 9. 5 they were REALLY tight. …. not a little bit…A LOT. I exchanged them for a half size up -as other reviewers had advised. When the size 10 arrived they fit ok….

JUST OK. I kind of regret not getting a 10. 5. I didn’t feel like going through the return process again so I kept them. I had hoped they would somehow stretch a little. They do not stretch out. I have been steadily using these as my spin shoe – they haven’t given me blisters or anything but every time I put them on I regret not going up a full size.

They are just tight in the toes. Your foot can slide a little bit when cycling so I try as much as possible to be conscious to kind of press my foot back toward the heel because if I don’t my toes will get slightly numb after a while.

Again, not miserable and certainly usable but I was new to cycling when I got these and didn’t really know what to expect from this kind of shoe. Knowing what I know now I would have made the extra effort to exchange them a third time for the full size larger.

I hope this helps someone who is questioning sizing for this shoe. It is a great looking and functioning shoe but you REALLY need to feel the true size for your foot before you commit to them.

Where do I even begin? I had been waiting for Nike to make cycle shoes for us common folk (non Pro athletes) for ever, I’ve been taking spin classes consistently since 2009 okay 💅🏿Finally. They made the shoe, eveyrtine I tried to order my size was sold out *cue tears*.

Finally got my hands on these bad boys. After I realized the shoes I had were just way past their end of life. You know the pandemic Yada yad Yada. Got my spin bike in the house okay! Let me say, these were worth the wait.

Everyone knows cycle shoes ain’t that comfortable. But these?? These? Oh yes baby! Oh yes. Now do I stop myself from ordering all the colors to match my outfits? I mean the look is everything isn’t it? 🤷🏾‍♀️🤷🏾‍♀️ just saying.

Bravo Nike!! Bravo!! I did order up half a size. I know in general cycle shoes are snug fitting. Don’t forget your SPD clips you can order them off the innanet or better yet go to a local bike shop, they should have some.

Just started getting into spin classes. Wanted an inexpensive option to see if shoes improved my comfort and quality of my workout. The shoes make a HUGE difference! These are a great value and I would recommend them to anyone looking for a reasonable option to try out.

I wear a size 8 shoe but have wider feet. I purchased the 39 and it was a comfortable and perfect fit.

Great construction – rugged outsole and lugs make for good traction. Versatile: robust enough for mountain biking, yet light weight makes it an natural for road bike use. Cleat installment was as snap – adjustable hex screw receptacles afford plenty of customized fine tuning.

Velcro straps equals easy on/easy off, yet the shoe is very secure on the foot, which gives improved ability to pull up on the pedals during a ride.

Beware! It doesnt include the clips. I’m assuming it said that somewhere in the description but I missed it. So it also makes the low price a bit deceiving as you will need to buy the clips. Otherwise they look like they will work but will not know until I can get clips for them.

I saw other reviews saying the shoes run small so I ordered 1/2 size up but they were still too small for me. I returned them and got a full size up from my regular shoe size and they fit great! The cleats were easy to install (I watched a YouTube video).

They’re super breathable – my in-studio classes are outdoors and they’re almost too breathable because my feet are cold during early morning classes 🙂 based on other reviews I was concerned that the sole wouldn’t be stiff enough but they’re fine even with a lot of resistance in and out of the saddle.

I have a Peloton at home and love my Peloton shoes. I bought the Nike’s for in-studio classes with SPD clips and I’m extremely happy with them.

This is my second pair in a different color that I have tried. Sent the first pair back because they didn’t feel good. Tried of brands of cycling shoes and went back to these in the white. They look great in person and are well made.

Much lighter than the Peloton shoes and breath more. Installing clips is easy but the ridges on the toes makes adjustments a little weird. Order a half size smaller and they will fit like a glove which is good.

Still breaking them in but so far pretty good. Keeping these!.

Really happy with this purchase! (for indoor cycle classes) Shipping was really fast! Really comfortable cycle shoes even for wide feet – a lot of people (with various brands and style of shoe) warned me that cycle shoes are quite narrow and tight, however these shoes are really snug and don’t hurt at all! The Boa fastening system made me nervous as it looks a bit flimsy.

but it is really easy and quick to take shoes on and off and really easy to fasten. The SPD cleats (purchased seperately) are really easy to install with an Allen key, but the only reason these lost a star is that although there are 2 options to position the cleats.

a 3rd option just a bit closer to the front/toe would be brilliant! Overall a great indoor cycling shoe!.

I’m not wearing them cycling just an everyday shoe for me. They’re so easy to do up with the dial and super comfortable to walk in.

Great indoor cycling shoe, as an instructor I can jump on and off the bike no prob’s to instruct the class from the floor or the bike. G8 for motivational classes. Would have liked white but no avail in Oz.

Really disappointed with these Shimano shoes. Bought these for my spin bike and to replace other Shimano shoes that fitted one foot well and not quite the other so thought I’d try these indoor cycling shoes instead of new road shoes.

I really wanted the IC5 but sadly they only come in SPD, not SPD-SL. The IC1 are light but offer practically no support. The insoles are incredibly poor quality. They’re very thin, flat, flimsy and with no arch support.

The closing system consists of a wide strap that leaves the top part of the foot quite loose. I prefer BOA dials by far. The shoes design resembles diving shoes, they have elastic around the ankle that can dig into the skin.

I’m also experiencing hotspots in several places that I didn’t have with my other road shoes. I sized up meaning that they’re quite large in one foot just so I wouldn’t experience pressure on my big toe in my other foot.

I needed to try them with cleats in for a proper fit assessment so sadly I can’t return them. I’ve swapped out the insoles for my other smaller Shimanos as those are firmer and support the arch a lot better.

I’m also trying different sock thicknesses to help with hotspots. All in all, I don’t find this model suitable for indoor cycling. It’s a real shame that other indoor cycling shoes don’t come with a 5 bolt system allowing both SPD and SPD-SL cleats.

The shoes are excellent value for money. Well made and snug fitting. They are not extremely adjustable but are good enough for all indoor cycling (Sprint, RPM, Spin). They fasten using a piece of fabric across your foot and I can see this wearing out over time.

I’ve been using them for a month (4 to 6 classes a week) and the straps are holding up so far so I think they will last a year at least. The shoe is like a tight sock so if you have very broad feet they would be uncomfortable.

Delivery was extremely fast (ordered one day and received the next) so I am very happy.

I was irked when I gave in a bought a peloton only to discover that my cleats and beloved bike shoes were not compatible. I bought these because I can use both delta and spd cleats. They are super comfortable + easy to slip on and off.

I have borderline wide feet. I usually wear a women’s size 7. 5 or 8 for regular shoes and an 8. 5 for running shoes. I bought these in a size 9 (40) and they fit like a dream.

I have been riding this shoe for about 3 months now, and it performs really well. I use it both on MTB and gravel rides. It has good stiffness and it feels like I am getting good power transfer to the pedal.

The tread is aggressive enough on muddy trails, but the compound also sticks if you walk onto a tile floor at a bakery stop. The break-in period was relatively pain-free, however, I forced crumpled paper into the shoe to stretch it a bit after the first ride.

I have slightly wider foot in the toe-box area, and had to take a few shorter rides early on. On my first ride over 60 km, I got hot foot toward the end, but not entirely surprising (your results may vary).

The shoe cleans up pretty well. I don’t baby any of my gear, so it has a few scuffs and bruises, but about what you would expect. I hate writing reviews, but my wife asked me last night how I liked them and I said “I really like them.

So much I should probably write a review”. You might not like them. I like chocolate ice cream, but I have heard there are psychopaths who do not.

After a lot of research I went for the XC7 over alternatives as reviews suggested they are true to size, not too narrow (i’m looking at you Fizik), and high quality features (double boa works well). After wearing them in the transition between summer and autumn I can say that all these points are true for me and, while not cheap, offer excellent value for money.

I have lots of stopping and starting in traffic and didn’t want the hassle of one-sided pedals, so I use these on my road bike with SPD pedals, doing approx 250km per week and they’re great. Definitely worth the investment.

Only additional points worth considering are 1) they offer good breathability (plus), however this opens your feet up to a chill (minus). 2) they don’t come with cleats in the box. Not sure if this is standard to have to buy cleats separately, but considering you need them to ride, I feel they should be included.

So I spent months trying on and testing various shoes for my bike. I wanted a shoe that I could commute in and also do training rides in as I find that using the same accessories and clothing on a daily basis actually improves my training rides and yes I do my training rides in SPD pedals but I won’t go into that but let’s put it this way, I don’t get off my bike during a race and stop in a petrol station.

So I have finally settled on these shoes and here is why. 1- very stiff plate to transfer the power onto the pedal, not the stiffest but close to. 2- very light (not the lightest but very decent and the extra few grams compared to ultra light road race pedals isn’t really noticed over an afternoon especially if coupled with a light pedal.

3- great sole for walking off bike. 4- a separate top BOA for the top strap. This is a deal breaker, having the ability to control the top strap for me is way more important than having a separate strap for the lowest strap, this is because foot slope is so different on different feet.

In my experience shoes where the top 2 Straps are adjusted by a single top BOA are not fit for purpose unless you luck out on a shoe which happens to fit your foot exactly. This makes the comfort of this shoe higher than shoes double the price.

Downers – in wet weather your feet will get wet And why have a weird blue lip on the toe sole. Either way I Highly highly recommend this shoe!.

Great looking shoe, unfortunately I had to return them as the fit didn’t suit my narrow foot. Very similar to rx8 that I own but not as stiff.

I like it. Fits well and i got the wide shoes. I love the boa system. Shoes are in very good quality.

Even though these are for mountain biking, I like them for road shoes.

With my previous shoes I thought I will never be able to succeed in T1 transition with getting shoes on while on the bike. These shoes are so easy to pull on and tighten while on the bike. Comfortable and great quality.

I would order 1 size up from your normal shoe size.

Bought these to replace old Shimano tri shoes that had lasted 10 yrs! Super comfortable. Am doing IM Lanza on 2021 – was planning on using road shoes but these are so comfortable will prob use these instead.

Only reason why not 5 stars is I am still not convinced by electric blue colour!.

Everything was smooth except the delivery took some times due to the customs. The shoes definitely a must have for Triathletes who look for fast transition, comfort, and power. Hit PR on my 1st ride with them.

Shoes are really light and a reasonably comfy fit ( a wide fitting would suit me a little better but the toe box strap can be loosened) I’m getting used to new rear strap orientation but haven’t tried it at race pace.

Will be a great summer shoe. Pushys service and communication was excellent.

I was looking for a lot of different shoes but in my size almost all of them are narrow, the normal RC3 as well. Very rare to find a wide version in the low budget segment of shoes. The RC3 wide not as wide as I thought but more convenient than the normal RC3 (I’ve tried it before in a shop).

Have to take into account what kind of socks do you wear with it, thinner are recommended. The shoes need to be chosen one size bigger as you usually wear in the normal life. I have EUR 41 size but the right choice is 42.

Otherwise it is a good quality item with great ventilation and boa fastening. And I found it in the best price here.

These are a well made good quality shoe. I dropped a star for their narrow fitting. I normally buy a 44 whenever I buy shoes. I bought “44 wide” in this shoe and did not go one size up as many do. The length of the shoe is fine and a size up would be the wrong length and mess up my cleat position.

I would say even the wide version felt fitting and I can’t imagine how tight the normal 44 would have been. I think the toe area could be more generous and is only just acceptable. The range of cleat position adjustment is really useful.

This is the first time I bought a shoe with BOA lacing. The BOA lace system works great and provide just enough slack to get your fit in (thick socks could be a challenge). I was worried that the laces may eventually break (however they are strong), but looking on the BOA website you can purchase replacements anyway should the worst happen (for peace of mind).

They are light and well made, good looking and a snug fit even in wide version (which I would recommend). I am happy to have these and more colour options in wider fits would be even better.

Just arrived from UPS and dropped off to me!!! Got my exacto knife out and opened the box and gave the shoe a look over! Checked the size of the shoe to make sure it’s the right size according to my foot measurement using a (Ritz Shoe Stik)!! I ordered a Shimano Entry Level Road Bike Shoes, US Men’s 7.

5W and it is True to Size!! Just installed a new set of cleats, adjusted them accordingly and clipped into my bike to see how the fit actually is and it is an Excellent Fit!! Shoes are a snug fit, BOA dial works great, Holds the shoe to my foot pretty good, also like the Cleat mounting area as it makes for mounting Shimano cleats very easy!.

I tried these on at my local REI store and was torn between these and a lace-up pair. I also wanted a shoe that I could walk in with some ease. What sold me on these was that I found I could adjust the straps to fit my feet better than with the lace-up(I still would like to get a lace-up pair with flat bottoms)(my foot is a smidge wider than the other).

I also found I could walk with ease(ok a little clunky, but not bad) in these. I tried them on a short 10-mile ride in city traffic and they felt good. They don’t look fancy, they look like your basic bike shoe.

I did add reflective tape to the back of the heels just to be seen better in the dark. My main use will be commuting and long road rides(under 50 miles). I wear a size 11 and I think my feet are tad wide, the size 47 fits well.

Again, I think the straps help with adjusting the fit a bit.

A good basic shoe, no complaints. I use Shimano SPD M8120 pedals and they snap in and out fine, as I would expect. I’m usually a size 43 EU but these are 42 and fit perfect, while the 43 I tried on was noticeably larger than I’d like.

It does not have a traditional tongue but overlapping sides which does not cause issues. However, where what be the tongue contacts the inside of crease of my ankles, I do feel the contact. It doesn’t hurt or abrade after a moderate ride but, a longer tongue that rolls over would feel a bit better.

The shoes are new and they may break in. The sole is fine for traction and walking.

I was in desperate need of a new pair of MTB shoes, as my old Mavic’s bit the dust on a ride and the entire sole on one shoe just came off. I was prepared to spend upwards of $200 on a new pair, but I needed them fast for an up-coming ride.

I wanted a BOA fit, or latching system like my old shoes. I went into my local REI, and the selection was not as good as it is online, but I could not wait. I tried on a few more expensive pairs, but they didn’t fit well, then I decided to try on these Shimano’s.

The fit was quite nice, it was stiff where it needed to be, and flexible as well, as I often do a bit of hike-a-bike. It being REI, I decided to get them and if I didn’t like them I’d just bring them back.

After 4 rides in these shoes I am 100% happy with them. This totally proves you don’t have to spend a fortune to get a good quality shoe. No fancy lacing system, just some good velcro which holds tightly, and they don’t come lose.

They clean up well after they get all muddy. I’m super happy with these, and I saved over $100.

I am relatively new to road cycling and recently purchased a Giant Contend AR 3 bike (used) with some SPD cleats/pedals. The bike also came with little used Giant Flux bike shoes in my size (bonus!).

After 10 rides with these shoes, my feet (EE-EEE width) were aching and super red/swollen on the inside and outside of my foot. I thought, “Well, I guess this is what it is; my feet are just going to hurt”.

Fortunately, I have very supportive wife, who said I should get what I need to “Do this cycling thing right”, encouraging me to purchase a pair of ‘wide’ bike shoes. Once I started researching wide bike shoes, I realized these can get quite expensive (compared to ‘regular’ width shoes) and was fortunate to come across Bikeshoes.

com. I didn’t want to go too crazy, so, based on Bikeshoes. com generous return/exchange policy, I thought I’d start with the lowest price wide bike shoe and go from there. These Shimano SH-XC3 wide shoes are amazing! The were just as comfortable as my New Balance wide sneakers and I love quick closure system.

Bottom line – great bike shoes for wide feet.

The cycling shoes looked great and had great styling. they run small! I ALWAYS wear a Euro size 36 as it equates to a USA size 5. These equated to a USA size 4. 8. Needed those extra. 2 for them to fit properly.

Sad because I did like them and the larger size is not available.

These are my first clipless shoes and they’re very comfortable. The recessed part where the cleat is almost seems to guide the cleat to the clip. The sizing chart is a bit confusing, though. Based on my foot length, it was suggesting I should have ordered the equivalent of a US size 8.

5 but, based on my shoe size, it suggested a 10. 5 so I went with the bigger size and they fit great.

I’ve been wearing these cycling shoes to Spin class 2-3 times a week for over 6 months now. I am able to put them on at home and walk to class with no issues (that was the goal , to not have to change my shoes when I arrived and left the studio) They are really comfortable and still look brand new! I was worried I got them a half size too small the first week I wore them, they were quite tight in the toe bed.

I spoke to my spin instructor about it, asked her advice on if I should return them and she encouraged me to keep them sicne they would definitely stretch. After the second week they were stretched enough to fit perfectly.

I’m now really glad that I didn’t go that half size up, because they would have ended up too big for sure!.

Fantastic shoe, just needs Lots of trial and error to dial in the fit Not as good as the previous model 901 IMO which i purchased here and tried this model out through Mantel. My 2nd phalange joint, 2 toe, rubs on the stiffer material, where a front Velcro strap would be but the shape now gives more support so your toes aren’t flapping upwards.

Not a problem i have with SIdi, Fizik or spezialized but a result of the flat Dynalast. An already snug fit in the mid sole width of 901 is now tighter, and the heel is super grippy but i think that would be a gewöhnheits thing.

Mantel’s guide is a good start for fitting size. they tend to give about 3or 4 mm extra as what you need so the shimano tend to be a a half size shorter than specialized, or FZIK so a 47 in spezialized would be 47.

5 in S-Phyre. I take SIdi 48 (2010 model)and these S-phyres have more room in size 48 in toe box. i can fit a 47 in Specialized or R1 FIzik (JUST) Dynalast: Jeez are they flat!!! what that means however is a better peddling action getting over top dead center.

however the bigtoe does tend to work more, and be prepared for a lot of trial and error with the Insole, which with the 2 height inserts are significantly better than FIZIK or Spezialized. I ended up adding a little to the toe are of the Insole to give a little bit more curve, punched holes for breathing, and fashioned a proper metatarsal button, and used specialized Vagus wedges ( Orange) to increase the supination.

As I said they are the flattest but the power transer is really very good. be also prepared for calf pains ( went away) and hotspots till you get a decent button fitted. They are a bit ‘Road Buzzy’ but moving the cleats back and forth did help and sanding the Insole underneath my right Big toe (like with Solestar)reduced the Buzz a tad more that i was feeling there.

I’ve wider than average feet and these fit really well – I ordered a couple of pairs from Sigma to try get the right size. I found they matched up pretty perfect with my normal size but I am just between UK sizes which makes buying cycle shoes online a nightmare but chats with Sigma online guides me away from Some shoes and recommended others.

These shoes are amazing – dual BOAS make adjustments easy although I found initially I’d tighten the front one too much at times causing a bit of pins and needles as my feet warmed up! But the reverse adjustment without undoing the boas makes this easy.

Temperature wise – warm weather riding no issues with good ventilation a ride in 11 deg recently I found my feet getting a little cold but not uncomfortable – will be interesting to see how they fair in winter? The grippy fabric in the heal makes good contact with the sock and helps with any heal lift when walking.

The colour (blue) is amazing! The only gripe I have is the burrito style wrap over upper, I’ve either huge feet or it’s not quite wide enough so when tightened I’ve a small gap just below the upper boa – I’m actually going to get a small piece of neoprene to try cover this in colder days! Walking in these is fine – very stiff sole though so be aware if you’re a Walker/pusher/runner.

Overall, – pushys offer a reasonable price & service. not great, but, certainly not bad. Their return policy is below average. I bought my usual size across all brands, but, with pushys, the size indicator was inaccurate.

No biggie, except that I had to foot the $20. 00 bill for return postage, through no fault of my own. thus making what was a reasonable price an expensive one. yet, not my misdemeanour. Not particularly happy.

Maybe limit purchases from pushys to items without size. like, lights, bartape etc.

I have been using the Surge shoe for the past few years and must say it one of my favorite in my arsenal of footwear. whether it be a long day in the saddle, or a short and sweet pain cave Crit, this shoe has held up exponentially well.

even post crash in a Crit race i have continued to ride and race in these shoes with no loss of stiffness for power transfer, or loss of comfort. I’ve never had major issued with hot-spots on my feet either which is a major plus.

the most important factor of all though is the fact that it just Looks So Good!.

I have have worn giant shoes in the past and have had issues with stiffness… The new Surge Pro is mind blowing! Super Comfortable and Super Stiff! A must try! I had to have all three colors!

I have been using a pair of Recon 1. 0 shoes for about a year now with great results. Due to a Morton’s Nueroma, I prefer a moderately wide footbox (even if the fit is sightly sloppy) and the Recon 1.

0’s have worked quite well for me. The 1. 0s are really comfortable (for my foot shape), are reasonably stiff when pedaling, and the hiking comfort and traction has been impressive on Tahoe granite. I purchased the Recon 3.

0s because they were on sale and looked like a nice upgrade. The fit and finish of the 3. 0s look great and they retain all of the 1. 0’s comfort with one notable exception (for me). As soon as I took my first step on carpet, I felt a pretty unpleasant pressure point on the inner side of the upper tongue –right under the BOA strap.

It may be the exact same fit issue that others have noted but I knew immediately that the upper BOA strap on the 3. 0s would not work for my foot shape. Just an fyi, other than my need for a slightly wider toe box, I have a completely average foot (i.

e. normal arch, no bunions, etc). I will be adding another pair of Recon 1. 0s to my closet. I guess the velcro straps simply work better for my feet.

I’ve worn Sidi shoes exclusively for the last 15 years. Since I teach indoor RPM Spinning classes and wear cycle shoes at least an hour everyday I like a light colored shoe so the participants can see my feet turning like pistons.

Thought I’d give Specialized shoes a shot since they had an almost white color. I’ve used them only for a week or so and have been impressed. The circle ratchet tightens very well! And I was told in the local Specialized South Bay Cycle shop that the wires are actually steel and shouldn’t stretch.

Don’t know this to be true by I believe the SIDI ratchet wire is fishing line. It seems the MTB standoffs in the front are slightly taller in the front of the shoe than on the heel which tends to tilt you back a bit.

No issue for me but didn’t notice it on past SIDI models I’ve owned. The Specialized shoes seem to be constructed very well. Only time will tell how they hold up.

I’m a bit of a novice cyclist and have been slowly curating my collection of gear over time (as it is extremely expensive). I finally decided to buy nicer shoes. I wear these for road cycling because I feel like the mountain biking shoes are typically more comfortable.

They worked perfectly with my spd clip ins and I didn’t experience any hot spots on my first ride. I don’t have much experience with shoes though, my first and only pair has been a cheap $40 set off Amazon.

Sizing seemed pretty true, I’m typically a 9 in most brands and a 40 fit perfectly. If you don’t want to spend $$$ on a shoe but want a nice sturdy option, these are great. I also love the color/rubber trekking on the bottoms! Again, I use them for road cycling so I can’t speak for how they hold up on a trail.
