These shoes make the most of the dancer’s arch and are great for turning. Like any canvas shoe, these have a shorter lifespan than a leather shoe will. The tan stays looking better longer in class and competition wear.

The black seems to pick up dust and ‘gray out’ a bit. Our highest level competitive dancers were able to get through the season in two pairs. They really do make the feet look great on stage! The stretch canvas is very comfortable and really help you use the floor and work through your feet.

I wear a 7/12 or 8 street shoe and wear a 71/2 in this jazz shoe. It fits very snugly, but that’s just the way I like it. They do stretch a bit so you don’t want ANY excess fabric. Hey Bloch. this same shoe design, but in leather with that stretch canvas as an inset for the arches??? Please!!.

i was excited with these shoes after seeing them on another dancer. They create a beautiful line and are very comfortable for a normally barefoot modern dancer. They did take some getting used to as the metatarsal is allowed to be wide, but creates some imbalances with the slight heel.

I was beyond disappointed in the durability. As they are not the cheapest shoe out there, these barely lasted 3 months of 2x week wear. The toe completely shredded and are now impossible to wear. There definitely needs to be a design revisit with a possible reinforced toe or where the fabric gathers into the sole.

If you prefer tight fitting jazz shoes then you must get these! They suction to your feet and it feels like you are wearing a sock! The only problem I have with them is the heel. When you slide into the splits without hands the heel pushes out from under you and the back practically slips off.

Otherwise these are my favorite jazz shoes and I prefer them over Bloch leather jazz shoes. The canvas shoes are really comfortable.

These are the classic tap shoes used by generations of young dancers. Quality and style are as good as ever. Please note, dance shoe sizes are NOT the same as street shoes. The first time you need them, it’s best to get fitted professionally and then you can go from there when buying larger sizes as needed.

This is a great tap shoe. My daughter wears a medium width street shoe in a size 8. So I ordered her an 8 1/2 medium for a little room to grow or in the chance they ran a little small. The length was a great fit but the width was very narrow.

I could barely squeeze her foot in them and she could barely walk in them. They pinched her feet pretty tightly. I’m going to try ordering her a wide. Her feet are not wide so I’m thinking this shoe just runs a bit more narrow than a street shoe.

Other than that, they looked very nice and I loved that they had an elastic strap.

so I’m all those people that doesn’t like doing housework without dancing around the apartment and I like to dance every single day but when I dance in socks on my hardwood floor man I don’t get to complete the turns like I I need to and so I bought these and they came in a timely manner they’re great quality.

Bought these for my dance team and they love them. They’re comfy and great quality and pretty! I measured all of their feet and they really fit true to size if you measure their feet in inches with measuring tape.

I don’t know why some reviews say that they fit small because I have 10 girls on my team and all of their shoes fit perfectly! For example, if you measure their feet heel to toe and it comes out to 9 1/2 inches, then you would order them a size 7.

5 jazz shoe. If their measured foot comes out to 10 inches, you’d order them a size 8 jazz shoe. And so on. !.

They look and feel like sturdy shoes that will get us through the season, however sizing is greatly off. I believe it says to order 2 sizes above street shoe, and that is an absolute must! I did for one child and they fit, and only went up one size for the other and they are too small, the toddler size 10 are the same as a size 8 in Gore.

These dance shoes/sneakers fit very well (true to size – she wears a 2. 5 to 3 and we ordered a 3 with enough extra room for some growth but not much) and look great. They are perfect for my 8yo daughter’s hip hop dance recital coming up in a few weeks.

They arrived wrapped up in a soft cloth and then in a plastic bag. Not a scratch or dent. The patent leather look is very chic and adds just enough “sparkle” for my little girl to stand out. She has already worn them for a practice and reports the fit and feel is perfect! Her eyes lit up when I showed them to her :).

These sneakers are very cute but they run pretty small and seem to dig in my daughters heels when trying them on. I would recommend going up a size on this shoe. Disappointing that my daughter won’t really be wearing them even though they don’t fit.

I can’t return them because I don’t have original packaging any longer.

It is the beginning of dance season, my daughter has had 1 competition and the velcro is already loosing its holding capabilities. The part were the velcro sticks to the shoe has already been glued back down.

I see these shoes will be a pain the remainder of the season.

My daughter has been using this style of shoe for several years for indoor color guard. We have learned that these shoes always run small (at least one size, if not two), so be forewarned if you’re buying some for the first time.

We’ve previously purchased another brand (Bloch), but after reading the great reviews on this shoe, I opted to give it a try to save a little money. Big mistake. Keep in mind, the girls wear these while performing on a vinyl mat and only for a couple of hours at a time for rehearsals.

After less than two weeks (maybe 5 uses?), they completely fell apart. The canvas shredded around the foot pad and basically disintegrated all around the toes. We had to attach moleskin to the inside just to be able to get through a competition as there was not enough time to get a different pair.

I have since gone back to the Bloch shoe we previously used to buy a replacement pair. Not sure if I’ll be able to get a refund on the shoes that fell apart, but it was a lesson learned.

I’m not sure why everyone is hating on these shoes – I love them for lyrical! They do take some breaking in to become adapted to your foot and completely comfortable but what dance shoes don’t? Tap shoes need some time to get flexible and used to your foot, same with jazz and especially ballet shoes – hello! These shoes are no different.

You can feel where they are stitched on the bottom but I can always feel where my ballet shoes are tied on the top, too, so nothing I’m not used to. For turning and studio use, they are beautiful shoes.

As a teacher, I love them. They elongate lines for dancers, save their toes and balls of their feet from callous and they are good for a bare-leg look. I absolutely love them!.

In previous years of ballet I’ve stuck to canvas, split sole ballet slippers. Now as a young adult, for some reason, I wasn’t able to tolerate the extra fabric under my heels and and toes and it was throwing me off.

It could have been the particular brand I was wearing, but I switch to these half-soles by Capezio. They have made such a huge difference in class that even my instructor noticed. Being able to feel the floor has always been a factor for me, even with pointe shoes.

The way these slippers are constructed there is very minimal bunching in the toe area from the seams. The canvas portion covers the entire ball of the foot. The elastic that goes around the heal has yet to slip and doesn’t irritate.

As a size 9 shoe I did have to purchase an XL when I was fitted. They do stretch out and next time I’ll most likely get a size L.

The shoes run very large. I typically wear a women’s size 9-ish street shoe, so as per the sizing recommendation I ordered a 7. 5. They were too big for me, and for my sister who wears 9. 5 or 10. I returned them and got a 6.

The damage was minor, but it peels easily so I imagine they will wear out quickly. As for usability I can’t say since I haven’t done tap since I was 7. They are comfortable, although there isn’t much in the way of arch support.

The sizing issue and durability concerns are unfortunate, but given how much less expensive these are than any of the other trusted dance supply brands, I’m not unsatisfied.

I’ve been buying these shoes for a very long time. The sound is good. I have two children who are in advanced tap, and the older one finally wore a pair out (took 6 years) and bought a professional pair.

But these shoes are great even for beginners. And they are the only ones I have found that come WIDE enough for my boys. They’re a little pricey, but worth the money. Order 2 sizes up for children and men’s sizing.

Order same as street, or half size up for ladies sizes. I wear a 9. 5 wide. And I wear a 10 in this shoe. My 11y. o. wears a youth size 5. 5W street shoe, and I ordered him a 7. 5W–perfect fit. My 9y.

o. who wears a 3. 5W street shoe, fits perfect in a 5. 5W.

I purchased this tap shoe as a replacement for Capezio M60 taps that I wore for a few years. I loved the M60s because of the hardy build underneath the toe and heel plates. They recently broke (as all shoes do if you wear them), but the model for women was discontinued.

I searched for a new shoe that would measure up to the M60 taps I love and be in my poor college kid price range. While I prefer a stronger build underneath the plates, the flexibility of this shoe is definitely interesting.

It takes some getting used to if you have danced in straight oxfords and/or character taps. I will say that you can feel the floor once you have found the nuances to the sound placement of these taps.

I recommend these taps for intermediate-level dancers. Because of their similarity to a point shoe when performing toe stands, a strong ankle is key. Do not purchase these shoes if you/your child performs hoofing style pieces and is not prepared for an ankle workout.

As a dance teacher, I would prefer my beginning students to stick to a straight oxford. If you do purchase this shoe, loosen the toe plates to free up the sound. I also recommend performing ballet barre exercises (plies, ronde de jambes, relevees, etc.

) to break them in. I prefer a tap shoe to fit like a street shoe, so I ordered my street shoe size and the taps run true. If you like a tight fit, you may consider going a half size smaller than your street.

Overall, a good price for the shoe. You are paying for slightly cheaper quality, but I’m definitely a Capezio advocate when it comes to tap shoes. Bravo on a solid, intermediate tap shoe!.

there are two different styles shown for this item. BE AWARE if you order the one that “laces up” it will come looking exactly like the others with no laces, just elastic holding it and that god awful detail on the tongue.

ridiculous that they even show the picture of a show fully laced up and then send a completely different product.

My godson loves them and was so hype with the color of the shoe and the color bottom. I asked were they comfortable when he wore them to school he said they didn’t hurt at all

The shoes I bought fit really nice and I like the style. Ordered me another pair in a different color. I give this shoe a 5 star
