20 Best Shoes For Playing Basketball (2023 Updated)

Bought these for someone else. They liked them. Said that they were a bit on the narrow side. But in time they will stretch. They don’t make sneakers like these anymore. Stylish but not outlandish. Sturdy sneakers for the rain or for HITT training.

I bought these for Pickleball for my hubby and everybody loves them and their look. They work out well support his ankles and overall a great choice for Pickleball’s sneakers. This is his second pair he liked them so much.

Bought these sneaks for my husband a few weeks ago have been using every day playing pickle ball. They are extremely comfortable and supportive on his ankles. Everybody commented on the style and look on the pickle ball court and asked him where I got them.

My son has weak ankles and needs a strong arch for support in his shoes for basketball. These shoes check off all the boxes. He also has a wide foot; even though we did not purchase wide he raves about how comfortable his shoes are.

I am so happy we finally found the right shoe for him. He also loves the positive message written on the shoe by the laces. Definitely a win win!!!.

These shoes are great for daily comfort. However as a basketball shoe, they are very warm and they don’t contain the heal very well at all. The shoes are high quality and seemingly very durable. Great value for a lower price probably can last a good amount of time and look great with just about any outfit.

I originally bought these shoes because they’re light yet seemed to support my wide feet. After the first time I hooped in them my feet / ankles had never hurt more. They’re the flattest shoe I’ve ever worn and you feel very heavy on the court in them.

Would not suggest.

They look good with a nice color combination. They have solid construction with materials that seem as though they’ll be durable. Too many shoes on the market now feel like feel a sock stretched over a sole.

Nike products. the most overrated merchandise on the face of the Earth. If it wasn’t for the fabulous, attentive, personalized service ftom the GM of the store ( huge , huge kudos, for your care ) the snickers don’t impress much.

Bought for my teenage son and he is over the moon with these. Great fit they look really nice too.

I rarely ever leave reviews but had to leave a good review on this shoe because it is a pretty comfortable shoe after it is broken in from playing basketball for an hour. If you get your normal size shoe it will require some breaking in but I don’t mind doing that because I feel like the shoe will last longer.

They look really cool and when I played basketball in them I could really feel the court and shift side to side really good. Others have mentioned there is less cushion in the construction but so far I haven’t noticed enough of a drop-off because they feel extremely comfortable when jumping and landing.

Lastly, they’re very light and I can move quicker in these compared to a KD14. Don’t get me wrong the KD14’s are fun to play in too but if you want to move a little quicker these are the shoes. I give them a solid 8.

5 out of 10 mainly due to initial break in requirement. The only cons is they run a smidge tight on the sides but after you break them in they’re a killer shoe. Tip: Load the shoe up with some socks overnight to help break them in faster.

For me because I somehow end up in gyms with less than desirable grip, I base my decisions on shoes on how well the traction is. After reading reviews for the immortality, I was excited to see how the bite would be on the court I regularly play at.

There’s still a bit of slipperiness, but a few wipes and the shoe sticks pretty nice on the court. On a decent court though, the shoe latches onto the ground real nice. For a budget model shoe, definitely a 4/5.

I take a star off only because I was hoping the grip would be undisputably great on any court and it’s a tad bit low exposing the ankle. So definitely be a little careful; wear a brace if you have fragile ankles or warm up properly.

But if you’re a young explosive player this shoe is definitely a 4. 5.

Overall fairly happy with this shoe. My only complaint is they do run fairly narrow. My husband has an average width foot in every shoe he has ever worn and said that it felt like his pinky toe was hanging off of the toe box.

They also fit very snug through the mid foot area so I would size up if you don’t like tight fitting shoes. The overall appearance of the shoes is sleek and athletic looking and they are less bulky than a traditional basketball shoe.

They provide good ankle support while being fairly low profile. My husband said he would’ve preferred a little more mobility and flexibility through the rest of the shoe though. When he first started wearing them, they were pretty hard and didn’t feel like they had much cushioning, but as they got broken in they became much more comfortable, and my husband said he could see wearing them all day once they relaxed some.

The best part of these shoes is the good, solid ankle support in them. I would change the width to make them a little bit wider in the toe box. I recommend trying them on to see if you like the snug performance fit.

I bought these for my dad. He has two autoimmune diseases- lupus and rheumatoid arthritis. He is a business owner and stands most of the day. He loves to go to the gym/workouts out home and tries his very best not to let his autoimmune diseases get the best of him.

Every once in awhile he will get a flare up so he is in a lot of pain. I wanted to get him a nice pair of comfortable sneakers for the holiday. I did some research and came across these. They were affordable and had pretty good reviews.

My dad loves them!!! He has had less flare ups, weras them every day and are super comfortable! I am so glad they provide some sort of relief to his every day pain!.

The shoe runs VERY small. Almost 2-3 sizes small as a size 10 feels like an effervescent squeeze around the bridge and top of the foot. The shoe “zips” and over cradles your foot when placing it on. I’d recommend ordering a size or two sizes bigger than your true size to fit comfortably.

You could “force” your foot into these shoes but if you’re responsible about your well being I wouldn’t recommend it. Disappointing purchase I took to finish line and immediately exchanged them for Lebron Witness V’s.

I would buy them again but they didn’t have my size at the store that would fit the small fit.

Bought these for my daughter and they arrived around the beginning of November. It was the shoe that the team choose for their season. After practicing and 4 games these are what they look like. Definitely seems like they are made for looks or light play and not competitive high school basketball.

Hoping Finish line will back up the products they sell and make it right. Unfortunately with them being sold out not exactly sure how it will go.

They were cheaply made. In other words thin cloth, skinny too short laces, NO arch support whatsoever, uncomfortable inner soles. They probably spent 20. 00 to make them. I am a 59 year old woman who hasnbeen wearing nothing but Nike since I was a teenager! They are overpriced and no quality!.

I have purchased the black/white/grey model as a birthday present for my nephew. The shoes looked lovely at first but deteriorated rapidly. How embarassing. The holes appeared on the sides due to laces pulling the fabric.

Also, the black part of the sole fell off on both shoes in exactly the same spot.

This non-signature budget model from Nike impresses; performance-wise, the shoes are probably worth much more. Concerning fit, the pair are true to size, applicable for all and are wide-foot friendly.

The quality of these shoes is quite good, being durable, and having a premium feeling upper. They work well for outdoors, as well as in. The value is indeed great. I would say the value-to-price ratio would be greater than most others.

No questioning style. The simplistic yet original look catches the eye. They look aesthetic and are great for those who do not prefer bulky-looking and heavy shoes. Comfort-wise, these are fairly good, providing good support and a stable-feeling insole.

They are also very light. Others may disagree on the comfort due to the lack of cushioning, but these very rarely appear as an issue (personally), and have the same, if not better, comfort than most other shoes I have worn.

To summarise, These shoes are brilliant, and outperform their price-expectations. If you are a guard who doesn’t particularly need impact protection yet emphasises on speed and precision, or you are a nimble forward – get a pair.

These shoes are just what I was looking for, although I did not buy them specially for playing basketball. I like jump roping and I have found out that basketball shoes are the best for this activity but I did not want a shoe that was too expensive.

I am thinking of buying a second pair in the Grey/Black soon.

I bought 2 pairs on clearance. Fits true to size and its comfortable. I like the black and white combinations and the design of this shoes

These Mavericks from And-1 are great low-cost athletic shoes for sport or everyday use. They are built with very comfortable insoles and a good arch support. Construction of the shoe over-all is also well done.

Stitching looks straight and strong and sole adhesion looks strong there is no excess glue messing up the look. Size and width is perfect and they feel snug all around. I wear a size ten in other makers shoes and these are just as, if not a better fit.

The foot and ankle support is very good and does not cut or rub around the tongue or top edges. After a few days of wear I can say these are quite comfortable on the field or the court. It’s been quite hot outdoors and yet these shoes breathe well enough that sweaty feet has not been a problem Now that they are almost broken in, we will see how they hold up in the long run.

And while it might just be the way I walk, or maybe the humidity the all-manmade materials do seem to squeak a bit but only occasionally noticeable.

Basketball shoes seem to have more workmanship & details put into them then more expensive running shoes. These are great quality & comfy. I haven’t worn basketball shoes since the nineties but these are going well in winter with tracksuit pants & some baggier cargos.

Only problem is they are crushing my right ankle bone & I don’t know why. Hopefully I can wear them in, otherwise I’ll have to give them away.

It’s still early to tell how they will hold up but so far my son loves these. He has a long and skinny foot and it’s hard to find shoes that fit as snug as he likes when he is playing basketball. We had to return a pair this year because the ankle area was too loose of a fit.

He normally prefers a higher rise on the ankle too but this year style and hightops seemed limited. So far he said he really finds this one to be a comfortable shoe that gives him plenty of support while not bulky.

Nike LeBron Basketball Shoes are completely comfortable and the best shoes made for young teenagers that are always on their feet playing sport’s especially basketball. Please make more of these brand they are amazing! Also my sister in law a big Thank You for buying them for my son your nephew whom is extremely over the moon!! ❤️.

My 9yo daughter loved these as soon as she saw them online. We placed our order for In Store Pickup and then just waited. We picked them up and brought them home, but we found that the size runs a tad smaller in length.

With prime basketball season not starting for another couple of months, I was afraid she would outgrow them. So we exchanged them for a half-size up to create a little wiggle room. Once that was done, she was set to play on.

She really likes the style and comfort. She even reiterated that after a week of basketball camp in them.

Perfect for my son who needs extra support due to foot issues. They r sturdy and supportuve and so far holding up to the abuse my son puts them through. The main reason i went for these shoes is that i wanted laces as my boy trashes velcro.

My son is tiny for his age and this shoe comes with laces in smaller sizes then any other good sports shoe i could find. My guess is that we will keep getting this same shoe as he grows and outgrows.

Wonderful shoes fits great my 12 year old loves them the only shoes he will wear. The problem is the company stop selling them in different styles. Now the only thing they sell is low tops. Regret not buying like 3 pair when they were available.

These shoes are better the Jordan gym shoes. Come on Under Armor make some gym shoes.

I bought shoes as gym shoe slip-ons. I have trouble with laces and bending. I would not run in these shoes as the support isn’t there BUT as walking/gym shoes they are fine. I found the size accurate for Australia.

I have ordered 2 more pair a WHOLE size bigger as I intend to place an athletes foot inner sole to make them more padded in support for running. They are value for money but not a running shoe.

Great looking shoes and great grip. The shoes were pretty tight. Maybe that’s what other reviews said, but I didn’t read them. My bad. I have to wear my thinnest socks and keep the shoes untied. Length wise they fit true to size but they are really narrow.

I have a pair of Lebron 16’s that I ordered to my normal size, 12 regular. that one fits GREAT. I really like the design and color way of this shoe and heeded the warning of others and ordered a half size up, 12.

5. Still too small. The mouth of the shoe where you insert your foot is definitely small, but at least somewhat manageable. I had to return (couldn’t exchange?) because even at 12. 5, the fit is just too narrow.

I basically never wear wide sizes so it’s a shame that this shoe doesn’t have wide sizes to get them back to. normal. Will have to look at Goat or something to see if I can get my size now.

I normally don’t write a review however I really value others opinion, So here is mine. I purchased my shoes online and received them a couple of weeks ago. I wear a 11 1/2 and these are really tight on my feet.

I figured, hey let me break them in so they would loosen up. So I wear them at the gym, to work and anywhere else that would allow me to stretch them out more however there’s still no change in comfort.

The lesson: try them on at the store b4 you order them online.

Beautifully crafted trainers with soft ankle cushioning and incredibly light. These trainers are versatile and much more than just basketball trainers. Trendy colours and perfect for most uses.

We had no idea when ordering online that basketball shoes ran small. Not to mention the fact the Nike already runs a size smaller than most shoes. Great shoes. We just had to locate a DSW store and try some shoes on to figure out a new size.

I got it a few days ago and I’m impressed. Easy to put on, not loose, great grip. Would definitely recommend for others. Great for playing Basketball and Badminton.

So this is the second time around I have purchased these shoes. First time around they lasted me about 6 months which is great for the amount of outdoor basketball that I play. I finally got a new pair once the nose of the shoe had torn open exposing my toe and the part that really bothered me is the framing of the sole and how it rubbed up against my inner heal while playing.

at first I thought it was from wear/tear and the shoes sole just morphing from tons of play. Now to my second pair which have only been used a few times. I’m experiencing the same rubbing problem on my heal after only a few uses of the shoe which actually results in bleeding if don’t protect my foot properly.

I would Recommend finding another shoe if you can!.

These are best lateral moving shoes I’ve ever experienced. My heel feels locked in, but it’s more of a mid so it allows for a lot of bend. Traction is great. It’s not a “springy” shoe like a lot other other basketball shoes which I like.

Instead it’s very light and responsive to your movements rather than wanting to bounce up all the time which I really appreciate (if you like hyperdunks you likely won’t like these). Best basketball shoe I’ve ever owned and this is coming from a runner who does not buy NB!.

Full disclosure. I am a woman but by men’s basketball shoes because the price and selection are far better. So when I save the shoes are awesome to look at my standards might be different than if you’re a man.

That said, from a comfort perspective these shoes are the greatest. I play 3 days a week and the shoes are incredibly comfortable with great traction on the souls. I can’t wear Nike because I have wide feet and I’m usually stuck wearing boring shoes but new balance is really cracked the code with these extremely comfortable but high quality basketball shoe.

PG4 – It’s like the KD12 but better!!! I was a big fan of the Lebron 15 because of the cushion and support. I owned several colorways, but as a sneakerhead, always wanted to get something new to hoop in.

I tried the Lebron 16, and had to pass, Then I tried the KD12 and LOVED it! I grabbed a few pairs and started hooping in them everyday. The cushion and support was great, but then I realized a major issue.

The traction pattern picks up dust like a vacuum and is not easily cleaned with the wipe of a hand. I actually would take them home and get a wet washcloth to wipe them down. This became so frustrating that I decided to grab the PG4 Gatorade when it launched.

I have never owned any of the PG line so was curious after seeing mixed reviews on the previous models. This shoe is FIRE! The look is great but everything beyond the look is even better. Similar cushion feel to the KD12 but less narrow, better traction, better fit and lock down, and all around better feel.

The traction is amazing and if playing on a dirty floor can easily be wiped with a dry hand. Spent about 2 weeks on the court in these shoes and they just feel amazing. If there were to be any cons with this shoe I would say the zipper occasionally unzips slightly on it’s own (not a big deal but small annoyance), but that’s it! Phenomenal job done by Nike, PG, and the designers.

Looking forward to trying to scoop up the all-star edition coming soon.

Love these shoes. The colors are way less crazy in person then the picture on the app which is a big plus. The zipper is snug and keeps the laces perfectly in place. The fact they fit perfectly and have so much cushion in the sole makes them great for running, cross training, really whatever.

They do tend to run a little small so I got a half size larger like some other reviews said to do and that was the perfect size. Would recommend to anyone looking for a shoe that can be much more than just a stylish basketball sneaker.

These are really nice shoes. Really better quality than the pictures do justice. Tons of padding on the sides, air cushioning full length; these are my new prized shoes for special occasions. Avoid dirt/mud at all cost, because they will be quickly lose their luster.

I recommend you purchase one size bigger than you normally wear, cause I barely fit in them. May still return for a bigger size. For now though, I’m going to see if the M 9. 5 size will work.

This is a great shoe! I was a little skeptical at first because I’ve been in love with Air forever and have been a little hesitant to try out the new React foam, but these deliver. They’re incredibly comfortable.

They fit true to size, and I’m a wide footer so that’s not always the case. These don’t hurt my feet at all and they feel good wearing all day. I completed several workouts in them and they feel fantastic.

No break-in period required, you can just put them on and go hard. The cushioning is great, the materials are durable yet lightweight, and the tongue in particular is just perfect. It reminds me a lot of the Air Tech Challenge II tongue, which is a huge plus because that’s one of my all-time favorite sneakers Nike has ever made.

When I first opened them up I felt like they looked a little bulky, but once they were on foot it was clear they were light, responsive, and looked slim and modern when worn. I particularly love that these are low cut.

I tend to always get low-cut sneakers for my workouts and these are a perfect addition to my rotation. The speed lacing system works really well, the lockdown is no joke, and the collar/heel area in particular feels very comfortable.

I really love the materials used in those areas specifically. They feel really good against your skin. Overall, I strongly recommend this shoe to anyone looking for a comfortable, well-fitting, low-cut basketball sneaker.

The design is very aesthetically pleasing and the performance is top-notch. PG should be proud to play in these and you’ll be happy to as well.

I was waiting for my order and nothing came. It took more than 4 days to Kickz to send me a mail to say that my order couldn’t be able to come due to an informatics error.

I bought these for outdoor play, after trying Kyrie infinity, Lebron 19, Jordan 36, and finding the modern Nikes to fit poorly. The 2 Way have better upper support and stability, like a classic midtop basketball shoe from my young days 90s-00s.

After some good street sessions I’d say they have great lockdown, near perfect grip, good impact protection, and excellent court feel. All materials feel tough, unlike the Nikes, that fit more like bulky running shoes, with big outriggers and strange designs.

New Balance used great materials. My favorite is the suede at the back and around the ankle. Super soft and premium. I knew these were what I was looking for the moment I tried them on.

I ordered these shoes a few days ago and they arrived today, ahead of schedule. Prior to this order I didn’t even know New Balance made basketball shoes. I have not worn them out of the house yet. The fit is good.

There’s ample cushioning, which I like. The color is different from what I expected. Although the description states blue with deep violet, they looked more white than blue on my laptop screen. All in all I like them and I’m looking forward to real-world testing them.

I’m betting others who see me wearing them will be surprised they’re New Balance.

I have worn the original version for a year now (v1 two WXY) and I wore the wide size. At the time of writing this review there is no option for wide in the v2. So, I chose the same size but in standard width and the fit is great! I am uncertain if I like the new lace system compared to the v1.

The v1 had a traditional style lace system with more holes, and two holes at the top near the ankle opposed to only one on the v2. I am able to fit the new version snugly, but think I’d still prefer the traditional style lace system that the v1 had.

Either way I am very happy with the v2, Overall, I love the sneakers and am glad they have enough room to not need a wide size. Keep it up New Balance!.

Other than the sheer delight in the color and style of this shoe, it doesn’t offer much. Bought these for my 12 year old Average build, normal foot length and width according to so and so’s pediatrician.

My son’s take was this, cheaply made(His words) and the toe box was entirely too narrow. I would not recommend these to anybody I cared about. ( Again his words!!!).

I bought this shoe in a Men’s size US12 one month ago and it has performed excellently on and off the court. the ankle support is amazing and so is the fit and feel. the only criticism I have of this shoe is its performance in wet or damp conditions where it is prone to slips due to low amounts of grip.

These are excellent budget shoes – they look better than i had thought. They’re not overly chunky like some basketball shoes can be, but still offer the support you need. They’re also nice and light on the foot and have excellent grip.
