20 Best Shoes For Painful Feet (2023 Updated)

I have purchased four pair of shoes from Orthofeet, including this style, recently because the first pai I purchased was a wonderful surprise! I have flat feet and hammer toes from severe rheumatoid and psoriatic arthritis.

I have had a terrible tim finding shoes, even sandals, that did not become almost unbearable very quickly. It has made going out very unpleasant. Because if that shopping for shoes in person is just not a viable option for me.

These shoes are amazingly comfortable with my toes having sufficient room and the upper fabric is so stretchy. Moreover, the first pair I ordered was too big and the second pair was too small. I returned the quickly according to their return instructions.

I ask fir an exchange and not a refund because I really loved the quality of the shoes. They not only paid the return postage but sent the new size which was the half-size between the two pair very quickly and without question.

I trust this company completely and I’m sure I will buy shoes from them in the future.

My poor fat 9WW problem ridden foot is thrilled!! After some tweaking with the assortment of enclosed inserts and arch support I got a custom fit for both the “normal” foot as well as the one that is chronically swollen from a DVT, has a bunion and a hammertoe.

I have spent a fortune over the years buying the same shoe in two different sizes and widths but still couldn’t find a comfort level that these shoes provided right out of the box. And they are sort of cute, too! They look like a regular athleisure shoe.

No one would think they were Orthopedic shoes. I love the adjustable strap which snugs up the normal foot while expanding to give the “monster” foot some breathing room. I am so thrilled that I ordered two more styles.

I would love to see a few more choices in a dressy shoe as well.

I have been struggling for 8 months with Achilles Tendonitis and for almost 2 months have been in a walking boot. When I would take off the boot at night the pain would come shooting back and sleep was non-existent.

I started doing some research on what I could do other than the boot and came across OrthoFeet – I needed to get some type of supportive shoe so I started with the Quincy Stretch – it felt like I was walking on air! I have the side inserts in and for a few days my feet hurt, but I knew it was because my feet were adjusting to walking properly! Now I am in Heaven! I LOVE these shoes and I’m planning on purchasing a few other styles in different colors BECAUSE these are the ONLY shoes I will be wearing from now on.

Seems you changed your sizing. They were snug at first. Broke them in now. I had a bit more room in the others I have had in the past. They do the job in keeping my back from hurting. And now my feet are rough.

I dunno what is on the shoe but my others never made my feet rough at the bottom. I dont like that. its like they have a different coating of something that makes your feet dry. I like the old ones. Southwest lost one so I had to buy another pair:(.

The Maui sandal is a good addition to my shoe wardrobe. The arch support and firm footbed was just what I was looking for. I have had bunion surgery on one foot and may face it again on the other foot.

Bunions can affect the second and third toes and therefore a strong metatarsal support is helpful for pain and offloading. I am considering adding a stick on pad for this. The look and style is great.

The shoe is sturdy and comfortable. The toe separator is abit rough and takes some time to adjust to. I am taking them to Hawaii this week, but probably will not walk miles in them. Yet. I am a soiled size 7 and had to return them for an 8.

I suggest ordering the next size up.

I have several pair of Therafit shoes that I love, mostly open back, so I thought the sandals would be just as comfortable. Maybe it’s the toe strap, but I just cant wear these very long without my foot hurting.

Perhaps they need to be broken in so the strap softens. I will keep trying because they are very nice looking.

I just bought a pair of OOFOS after reading Alex smith’s story and how the shoe assisted his leg injury recovery. I am recovering from a fasciotomy of the lower right leg and the OOFOS have been a great assist.

They are comfortable and truly help relieve the pain I suffer from nerve regeneration. A wonderful purchase, whether you are recovering form leg or back injury, or just want a comfortable pair of shoes.

These shoes are incredibly comfortable. I’ve had plantar fasciitis for over a year. Now it’s gone. I’d bought the Oofos sandals while in HI a few weeks ago and was sold then. Super happy that I’ve bought these, too.

They could be a bit more aesthetically pleasing, but they are good enough. Just not great looking when wearing shorts. Just my humble opinion.

I love Oofos slides as they are the most comfortable shoe on the planet. I live in them as house shoes on my hardwood floors. I was so excited to get this new enclosed shoe from Oofos for men. They recommended going down a size if in between sizes, but I found going up was a better fit.

The shoes were amazingly comfortable as expected, except for on flaw. The back of the shoe rises up to a peek about 1-2 inches above the height of the side of the shoe. I wear them barefoot and that peak just digs into the sensitive skin on the back of your ankle.

I had to sadly return these. If they would make the back of the shoe the same height as the sides of the shoe I would buy them again in a second.

This shoe is amazingly comfortable all day long! I wore them right out of the box on a trip to Philadelphia where we walked to many places. Usually I have to break in a new paur of shoes before I go on an extended trip, but not these! It does make my feet look big but comfort is more important!.

They are the most comfortable shoes I have ever owned. I am on my feet for eight hours each day I work. I have plantar fasciitis and these shoes allow me to work comfortably.

These are my new work shoes. I’m a CT Technologist at a busy hospital. I’m on my feet most of the day with a lot of walking involved. I have high arches and plantar fasciitis. These are the first shoes I’ve found that I don’t need an insert to accommodate my arches.

The cushioning is AMAZING! I read a couple reviews that said they ran large and slipped up on the heels as you walk. That’s not what it is. It’s your foot sinking into the cushioning and raising to it’s pre step height.

I know that sounds strange but that’s really what it is. There is 0 rubbing on your Achilles tendon which is what happens when you’re shoe is too big and slipping I’ve worn them for 2 weeks and I’m happy thus far.

As for the cons. I wish they were available in bright, fun colors. White is boring so I bought green shoe laces to brighten them up. Also the tongue is short. Just another inch would be ideal. They barely come past the leaves and are hard to grab when laced.

I always straighten the tongue in my shoes so it does not become uncomfortable.

Have had these just about three weeks and wear them everyday for work and my dogs aren’t barking at the end of the day. Had fallen out of love with Skechers (GoWalk, specifically) after several years of wearing them because the arch supports became nonexistent.

The Comfy Wave has restored my faith in not only finding a shoe with arch support, but finding one that also isn’t costing me $150 – and I had almost resigned myself to going that far to keep my feet happy.

I walk a lot at work, and these offer great support and cushioning right out of the box without having to add anything. Heel cup, arch support, even toe box are great at first fit. Bridge is a bit snug at first, but like all Skechers, the material gives after a bit and they fit perfect now.

They are also super lightweight and breathable. The laces are a bit annoying, as they come untied often – just the type of lace, easily replaceable. But it’s also nice that they include a second pair of laces as well.

My only two “complaints,” if you will, would be lack of availability – I wanted to reorder another pair last week and they are not available in my size (7); and lack of bright, fun colors – choices are Navy, Gray and Black.

Pretty boring. At half the cost of Hoka’s or On Clouds, I can’t imagine the cost savings comes from not offering better color selections, lol. My favorite Skechers were a pair of Aqua/Navy Herringbone GoWalks.

Nowadays, they’re not nearly not as much fun. Whoever is running their style department must not like cute patterns or bright colors and doesn’t think anyone notices their sneakers. All of that said, this is a great shoe with great support at a fair price and I would love to have another pair – when my size is available – and hoping for cuter colors :).

With some pain in my toes and ball of my foot, I need a comfortable shoe that would allow me to insert my orthopedic insoles. The insoles of some of the other lines by Skechers cannot be taken out, so I stopped wearing this brand.

When I saw that the insoles of this line of arch fit by Skechers can be easily replaced, I wanted to give it a try. So far, they did not disappoint. The insoles can be easily taken out and be replaced by mine.

I have to say the Skechers insoles are nice and thick too, but I need some for metatarsals. The shoes are very comfortable and have thick soles. I have been wearing them for my daily hourly walk and running errands.

I like the colors, and they look good with both exercise and daily wear.

I have Pretty severe RLS, live in the country and walk plenty. Mostly game trails and dirt roads. I’ve put 30 plus miles on the footwear in the last week or so and pleased with the results. So far an extraordinary good fit and little if no fatigue.

I am 78 and my feet thank you!.

So comfortable and great support for plantar fasciitis. This is the second pair that I’ve had. I walked over 2 miles every morning and they are the best shoes I have owned

My husband is not wearing them. He isn’t clear about why. I will be returning and might try a different style. I love my Therafits and want him to be happy with them also.

I just received my first pair of shoes from this company. I just discovered the inserts which are wonderful and right away I ordered these shoes. They felt way too big and the rims are too high and rubbed my ankles.

I put another pair of regular inserts inside underneath the eatrex inserts to raise my feet and they work. I am just wondering how to keep my heels from popping out? The fabric at the back of the heel is too slippery.

Any suggestions? Not sure if I will keep them.

This is my 2nd pair of Winter boots from Orthofeet. I bought these because of the waterproof feature. I’ve been wearing Orthofeet shoes for about a year. I have a stand up job and about 3 months after I started I needed shoes for being on my feet all day.

After searching around, Orthofeet was one of many brands that I considered getting but, with Orthofeet things felt different about the shoes before I decided to get my 1st pair. I decided to get them and I’ve been very pleased.

I wear into my shoes fast but, in this case the insoles will wear down faster than the show will, so I’m buying more insoles than shoes. I try to get a new pair of shoes every 6 months. I’ve always preferred comfort to looks.

I bought the Delta Black Waterproof shoes and they are absolutely marvelous. I have severe Achilles tendonitis and have done PT and Shockwave treatments to try to break up the scar tissue. The latter seems to be working, but I am still in a wait and see.

However, these shoes make it seem like I am cured. Extremely comfortable from first try. I am wearing orthotics in them, but really like the extra footbeds and arch supports that are included. Sizing was just right.

The wide toebox and depression for heel spurs (which I also have a tendency for) is great too. Highly recommend!.

A very comfortable shoe. It provides much comfortable support, especially if you are on your feet a lot. Well padded insoles.

I suffer with lower extremities lymphedema. I brought these sneakers about a month ago. I needed a sturdy, lightweight yet comfortable fitted sneakers with wide toes. Perfect fit. I loved the raised toe platform.

It helps correct my steps when waking especially because of the extra lymp fluid. I have been wearing slip on for a long time. I am relieved that I can finally fit back into a pair of sneakers. Look forward to exploring other shoes by KURU that would meet my needs.

This shoe is so great to wear. The break-in period was fairly brief for me. I have loved how they support my heel and arch and there is plenty of room for my toes. The pain in the ball of my foot is much less now.

They look nice too. I especially appreciate the leather wedge-shaped detail at the ball of my foot which feels supportive and also breaks up what would otherwise be a very long (I have size 10 feet) shoe.

Based on my experience with this first purchase, I have recommended KURU shoes and boots to three friends, one of whom has bought the boots already. I have also bought a pair of Chicanes which are good and getting better.

Love this shoe. I have flat feet and plantar fasciitis as well as hip pain into lower back pain. I bought this shoe and followed the instructions to wear a couple hrs a day indoors. My heel pain went away within two days, and having had custom orthotics before I knew there would be an adjustment period.

But before the week was over I was putting them on right after showering and taking off before bed, wearing at least 12-14 hrs a day. So comfortable and supportive. It’s eliminated my hip pain, heel pain and most of my lower back pain.

Miracles these are! The only thing I would do is buy a second pair with wide width.

This is a brand I have never heard of so I very hesitant to purchase these sneakers. But, am I glad I did! I have rheumatoid arthritis, so I need a good solid sneaker with support. These are probably the best running sneakers I have ever worn! I love that they removable insoles and come with an extra pair.

Also, they have wide widths! I wore them right out of the box and went for a 4 mile run/walk and had no issues afterwards! No pain in my feet or anywhere else. I like them so much I went a bought the other style to try out.

I’ve been wearing these shoes just over two months. I average walking 20 miles a week, and they are super comfortable. HOWEVER the lining at the heel has worn away on both shoes to the point I must wear a Bandaid on my heel to not get blisters and the sole is wearing down quicker than any other pair of shoes I’ve every worn.

Considering the cost of these shoes, I’m very disappointed. If you only wear these for day to day, you’ll probably be happy. For my workout, they sadly aren’t working out.

I’ve had these for a couple of weeks now. I’m so happy with these shoes. Even though they are running shoes, they are also great for walking. I’ve walked paved as well as dirt trails in them without my usual foot pain kicking in after a couple miles.

I tried Orthofeet in this very model over a year ago. I’m a big guy, over 300 pounds. I have lower back issues, difficulties in bending, etc. I needed tieless, but more importantly, I needed a shoe whose insole didn’t break down under my weight.

I couldn’t find an affordable shoe and insole that lasted. With the 60 day “try them or return them” guarantee, I ordered my size, figuring I had nothing to lose. I got over a year’s usage of these shoes! That’s unheard of for me.

The insoles are amazing, I dialed each shoe in perfectly, and wore these everyday until I wore a hole in the one bottom sole, and the fabric gave way on top where my motorcycle shifter finally wore through! I’m on my second pair, and bought a third pair so I can alternate.

Budget constraints before precluded two pairs. I’ve done the math, however, and believe I’ll be glad I bought two pairs this time. The support and reduction of pronation is excellent. The way the insole molds around the foot is wonderful, and gives a great stride with super comfort.

I wear a wide rather than normal, and the heel portion of the sole is 3/4” wider, which is the kind of comfort and sizing I need to be comfortable. I guess you could say I’m now a lifelong customer! Highly recommended.

I’m 65 years old, and while I don’t have diabetes, I do have RA and an underlaying of lupus. I have hammer toe on four toes on my left foot, and the fat pads on the bottom of my feet have thinned out and moved forward.

It’s like walking on pebbles. I’m prone to sciatic nerve pain, plantar fasciitis and a whole myriad of foot problems associated with seniors. I bought a pair of shoes in a 4E width from a name brand shoe.

While they offered relief for the hammer toes, and were relatively comfortable, they were also heavy. I bought the Tahoe shortly after, and what a difference! They address the hammer toe issue, they offer a good arch support and the stability I need.

I noticed a difference almost right away and I didn’t feel like I needed as much as a break in time. I stand on my feet for 5 hours for my part-time job. While I am tired at the end of the day, my back, hips, legs and feet aren’t in pain.

I feel like I can move at a decent pace. They come with arch boosters and if you need better arch support, then give them a try. I would highly recommend these shoes. They are well worth the investment.

I have suffered for years with foot problems – fusion of big toe for arthritis, loss of all cartilage (arthritis again) on the outside of one foot causing the need for an AFO brace, misshapen foot due to the arthritis, bones where they’re not supposed to be, a bunion on the other foot, stasis ulcers, you name it.

The bottoms of my feet have hurt for years as well. I stumbled on your website quite by accident. I ordered the Tahoe and I’ll admit to being a little skeptical, but WOW! My feet haven’t felt this good in years.

I did change the laces out to elastic ones, just because I also have arthritis in my hands. I put these shoes on and found there was no break-in period and they felt like they were made just for me. I can’t wait to try some of the other shoes for AFO braces.
