20 Best Shoes For Offshore Fishing (2023 Updated)

I bought 2 pair of these Rogue Waves thinking that they would be awesome for my winter activities and summer water days. The only real complaint I have deals with the traction. The outsole tends to pick and hold grains of pebbles and rocks.

If wearing them inside the home especially on a hard surface after whatever activity u have done outside, the outsole releases the pebbles and rocks throughout ur trek until u take them off. I’m in a constant battle sweeping my hardwood floors more then I would like to on a daily.

As for being snug they are true to fit, especially if wearing a sock. Plus they are pretty comfortable as a daily. I have not yet touched out to or needed customer service from Huk as the quality of the boot so far seems good.

Would I recommend these boots, YES and NO. Again the only complaint I have is the outsole carries and releases more maintenance inside my home after playing outside. This is why I give them a three star review.

I was pleasantly surprised by how light these are. They are easy to take on and off with the tabs. I am usually a 44. 5 EU sizing and the 11US are 45EU, so they fit just right with an extra pair of socks since 1/2 sizes aren’t an option.

They are very comfortable and easy to spend all day in and get better than average traction on hard surface and don’t leave scuff marks. Another thing to note is that they do not provide a lot of insulation if you plan on using these for cold weather applications.

You will likely need another pair of socks, but are nice for warmer weather as they dont make your feet sweat like those suffocating rubber boots or heavily insulated winter boots.

I purchased these for my teenage son. He wears them bass fishing and also to his work as a greenskeeper at a golf course. I had ordered the 14 as some reviews suggested ordering a size up. In his case he needed his regular size 13.

I ordered the 13 before sending back the 14 just to be sure. HUK was awesome with returns. My son loves HUK and has had many of their shirts over the past 3 years. He wears them all year around. School, fishing and the golf course.

They are the most comfortable rain boots I purchased. I currently own some muck boots (that I still like in the snow or mud but they are way more bulky), owned some hunter boots and other cheaper ankle rain boots and they did not compare to the Xtratuf rain boots.

I bought these last spring and I am so happy with them. The size 6 fit perfectly! I typically wear size 6 or 6. 5. The boots aren’t too narrow or too loose. For the price, comfort and versatility this item gets two thumbs up! On the plus side they are lightweight, easy to put on and off to go in the garden, and they are great for any fishing trip (white/neutral sole).

Small downsides; not made to go on a big walk/hiking adventure, they are flat, and don’t have grip. The Xtratuf sticker on the front peeled off after a week of use, but it doesn’t affect the quality of the boot, so I don’t care.

If you choose the black color it may get hot in the sun (in summer) and rain boots aren’t breathable so you can expect sweaty feet in that case. Still one of my best purchase!.

~If Alaska had an official footwear, XTRATUF would be it! The quintessential Alaska boot. I really, really, like these. My new favorites!! They are much easier to slide into than wrestling with the high-top XTRATUFs.

Don’t get me wrong, I have 3 pairs of the 16″ boots and love all XTRATUF’s Neoprene sole shoes, boots, and flip-flops. They stick good even on icy days. I switched to the ankle boot because of mobility limitations.

On days I can’t wear flip-flops, I slide into these! Because they have good all-around traction, I feel secure in my footing. Definitely keeps my feet dry too. The boots come off easy enough, by stepping on the tab that is on the back of the boot.

I put a pair of wool liners in mine. (Which I do for all my XTRATUF boots). Just a note. (why do I feel I need to say this?, IDK). if you do add liners to your boots, make sure to pull them out to dry, at minimum, once-a-day.

In Alaska we have more boot dryers, per capita, than hair dryers. You will NOT be happy wearing any XTRATUF boot that you have not thoroughly dried from previous wearing. I was so glade to see the company expand their line-up.

Now seriously, how about some Neoprene sox/liners/inserts next? Slider and strapped sandles?? Some extra heavy duty Tablet and Laptop sleeves??? I’ll be watching. Thanks for your awesome service. Merchandise arrived at home, in Alaska, in 3 days.

You get the power of a 9mm basically with high capacity and in the size of a 380 pistol. The 30 Super Carry cartridge is slightly taller than the 9mm and slimmer. The 100-grain Federal HST defense rounds come in at 347 ft/lb slightly under a similar defense round of the 9mm at 367 ft/lb at relatively same muzzle velocities.

Guns. com has delivered great service as expected as this being my 3rd firearm order with them. This piece is also suited for an optic and has night sights which is handy. It won’t make you retire your full sized 9mm, but it makes an excellent addition or option for your arsenal it’s not so much of a niche class as they say, but the 30 Super Carry stands on its own.

These shoes in a word, AWSOME! I really can’t say enough about how much I like the Boneheads. As soon as I slipped them on, my feet said, ahhhh. They are very comfortable due to their design of stretchy mesh breathable fabric.

They are very lightweight and fit my feet perfectly. I wear EEE wide and have a difficult time finding shoes to fit. Columbia offering wide shoes has made me a loyal customer for years. They also dry quickly when they get wet during water related activities and remain comfortable even when they get soaked.

In addition, these shoes are great looking; I get compliments on them all the time. So, what else can I say, I highly recommend these shoes. I feel like a “Bonehead” for not buying a pair in every color while they were in stock.

I bought this shoe for my husband. He has been limited in shoe choices for some time due to hammertoes on both feet. I took a chance based on customer comments and shoe description and then held my breath when he tried them on.

I was thrilled that they fit so beautifully and the look was great—-didn’t look like an orthopedic shoe (which it isn’t). The (wide) shoe offers great flexibility and roominess in the toe area. Thanks Columbia.

This is my 2nd pr of these, just different color. They are very comfortable and easy on/off. Easy to maintain. The only thing I would change is the inner removable insert. It’s all rubber and gets pretty dirty.

Wish it was the cloth covered as in some of their other shoes. Still, great shoes.

I have gone through many types of water/boat shoes over the years. I need a shoe that can give good protection from wading in questionable river/bay bottoms that also supply superior traction when back on the boat deck as well as adequate support while at the helm, navigating a pounding chop.

Some so-called water shoes I’ve tried were no better than a heavy pair of socks with no support. Other pairs I’ve gone through were heavy/clunky things that would have been named better as hiking shoes.

I have gone through a lot of name brand ( and expensive) water shoes that seemed to perform as advertised only to have the sole material harden up after one season and lose any traction they may have had when new.

I finally tried these Columbia PFG Dorado CVO’s and these check all the boxes for me. In addition the mesh on the upper part of the shoe allows good drainage without allowing a lot of sand to enter the shoe.

In all I am extremely pleased with my purchase.

I ordered these in the Gulf Stream/Jade Lime color in my regular shoe size after I’d also measured my foot length and compared it to the size chart for this shoe. The fit is perfect and very consistent with the size chart.

I have narrow feet, so I appreciated that these shoes were not too wide. Additionally, the shoe strings are elastic, giving one’s foot some extra expansion room if you happen to cinch up the laces a bit tightly in the morning.

a clever design feature. The color is beautiful and very true to the photos. The fabric is wonderfully breathable to keep one’s feet from overheating. The soles are flat, yet they have grip. The insoles have some cushioning, which I appreciate.

I also like that the material is stain resistant to keep the shoes looking sharp. I’m delighted with these shoes and would definitely buy more. It would be very useful if Columbia decides to make them in white as well.

Columbia had not let me down yet with a description of a shoe and it’s performance when compared thereto. These shoes are lite and very breathable. Like all Columbia shoes if you normally wear a lets say 15 in for example Under Armour, Adidas, Nike, etc then I suggest you get a size down to a 14.

Compared to other brands these days I would say they run a little bit bigger. I’m from the old school where I used to be able to wear a particular size in several brands but those brands conformed to the majority, just the biggest shoe makers at the time, to make their shoes smaller thereby making me have to buy the bigger size which is usually that much harder to find.

I love Columbia everything. It’s comfortable. It lasts. It holds up. It’s worth the money I pay for it.

The shoe looks like quality built. I supposedly wear a size 7 but when I ordered a 7. 5, it felt too snug. The entire shoe was tight front and back and size of the foot too. This was without wearing socks, so I felt this was going to be too tight normal daily wear.

I ordered a size 8 and suddenly the entire shoe was loose. Front and rear was loose enough for my heels to drop out of the back of the shoe when walking. Wearing a pair of socks helped, but I really wanted to wear this shoe without socks.

It’s acceptable so I kept it and will just wear it as a casual daily walking shoe.

I like the shoes the grip the look. Only problem is i thought they would be a little more airy. My feet were a little sweaty and when removing shoe the inner sole of inside shoe was coming out. And when i washed them after the day of fishing.

They took longer then expected to fully dryout. I will say they dont keep stains came out very well. When putting on shoe the side of shoe where the tongue is kept wanting to slide down in shoe. Its minor but you need to sit down to put on.

Not a slip on type of shoe. Other then them dislikes it is a good shoe.

I bought this exact style of shoes four years ago prior to going on a cruise. I wore them 90% during the 17 days – including while walking all around Europe. I have worn them countless times since. I decided to buy a new pair – but not because the first pair had worn out.

In fact, they still look great. But I wanted another color. These are just as great. They are stylish, comfortable, have great traction, and fit perfectly. They are very true to what your normal size is.

I have a lot of shoes, but most just sit on a shoe rack – because these are the ones I prefer.

Ok, let’s start with the fact that I almost didn’t buy this shoe because of some people complained about them not having an insert, and that the mesh was uncomfortable or just plain weird. First let’s look at why I bought them, I needed a shoe that could handle water and dry land every day.

these fit that bill to a tee, so most water shoes have that annoying insert that retains water and squishes out water everytime you take a step, these don’t do that, no insert=no squish. how many times have you worn flip flops that once they get wet you slip and slide right out, one major reason people buy water shoes, that have the same problem, your foot slides around in the water shoes.

I’ve found that the mesh interior sole keeps your foot from sliding around, a little odd at first but the theory is very sound and works very well at draining water away from your feet and drying quickly.

They are as good, if not slightly better than the HUK shoes I have. I would recommend these to anyone who is around water, boating, fishing, or any kind of activity that includes water. they are the fastest draining, drying shoe Ive found that are slip free, both internally and externally.

Bought these shoes and a pair for my partner to take to Karijini National Park- lots of gorge walking, scrambling and swimming. The shoes were perfect and exceeded my expectations. They have good grip and were dry by the next day.

I didn’t wear socks and they were comfortable from the get go with no blisters. They are really lightweight so could go from swimming to walking seamlessly. They also looked great and lots of strangers complimented our shoe choice! Would highly recommend for these types of activities.

They really helped make our experience more enjoyable and safe.

Bought these higher end water shoes for my stepdaughter, and she loves them so much they’ve become her new “go to” summer sneakers! The collapsible heal is perfect for this girl who regularly ruins other shoes by briefly but frequently slipping them partly on and crushing the heals by being too lazy to untie and retie the laces to wear them properly.

Anyway, the girl likes the look, comfort, and flexibility of these (more-than-just) water shoes. Now my only concern is that she might wear them out quickly by wearing them all the time, rather than also wearing her other sneakers, biking shoes, hiking boots, etc.

I bought this shoe because I wanted a comfortable, easy slip-on, breathable shoe that I can wear for boating. Grundens checked 3 out of 3 boxes! The shoe fits like a glove and the sole is super grippy and stable.

I’m going to order a second pair to wear as my everyday summer shoe. Most shoes with ventilated mesh are unstable and I worry about twisting an ankle. Grundens nailed the SeaKnit – it has just the right amount of lateral support balanced with comfort and breathability.

I love how easy these shoes are to slip on and off!.

Incredibly comfortable and grippy shoe. Grundens nailed it. In the past wearing Columbia or Olukai my back and knees would throb by the end of the day. I can stand on deck all day and my knees and hips feel great at the end of the day.

These would be 6 stars if they guaranteed me to catch more fish but that’s my problem!.

Hot diggity dog these things are comfortable. They have been great to fish in on a boat but also perfect for going out to dinner! Very universal shoe that you wont be disappointed in. in fact you wont want to take them off! My only gripe is that there are only 2 colors – I would be them all if I could!.

Love these shoes! White sneakers are in right now and these are so cool/unique looking! The size 7 fits my size 7 feet and I love the elastic shoe strings. They are great for walking but since there’s not a ton of cushioning, I would not recommend to run or hike in these.

To say that I have ordered many water shoes is an understatement. Every year for spring break, I think this is the year I get a pair I don’t mind wearing – that work and look somewhat cute too. I just received these today (I ordered the men’s gray and orange even though I’m a girl because the colors are more neutral) and now my work is done! These look like Keds/Vans met a water shoe.

I ordered a men’s 9 and I am a women’s 10. Technically, a size 8. 5 is what translates to a women’s 10 so I’d say these run just a tiny bit small to fit a little loose. If I wanted these super tight, I would have ordered a half size down but I wanted them comfy enough to walk in as well.

I ordered from a different website but love them so much I thought I’d share my thoughts. So yeah, buy them.

I love the sure-footed rubber sole; the look and construction of the uppers; the elastic no-tie, adjustable laces; and the fact that I could easily slip off and use pull loop on heel to put back on, or wear as slip-ons, without harming the heel of the shoe.

Length and width were generous. However, I reluctantly and sadly returned them because I need built-in arch support and a bit more cushion in the sole.

I contacted the Orvis store on a Thursday afternoon to see if they had a pair of Clearwater Wading Boots in size 15 (my shoe size is 14), as I was leaving on a week long fly fishing trip on Saturday.

They did not have them in the store but they informed me they had them at the warehouse and could overnight them to my house. I had them at my door before noon the next day. I then received a phone call from Orvis making sure that I had received them.

The efforts to get me the boots and the follow up call were much appreciated. Yes, I did pay $20. 00 to have them overnighted but I needed them and it was worth it. Now the boots. This boot was not my forst choice; however, they were the only ones I could find in size 15.

I was pleasantly surprised. They fit perfect, were comfortable, light, and I wore them for an average of 6 hours a day, for 7 days in a row in an icy cold West Virginia stream and had no issues. I would definitely recommend.

Used for surf fishing primarily; only used in fresh water where felt bottoms not allowed. Only one “issue”. Earlier Clearwater boots had speed laces. Problem was, they were anodized steel, not SW grade stainless or silicon bronze, etc.

They corroded rapidly in SW, mine only made it through 10 trips over 2 seasons before failing. Orvis graciously replaced them with the newer model. These have grommet holes lower down and plastic hooks at the top.

Work fine, but a lot harder to tighten up than the older model.

Ordered the Clearwater Wading Boots to go with my purchase of the Clearwater Waders, also purchased the Screw-In Studs and had them installed in minutes. Went with a size up from my regular shoe size and the fit with the waders is perfect! Used the outfit for the first time on a mix of gravel and rock bottom, waist deep on the McKenzie River, Oregon, light rain, my Clearwater Fly Rod and Reel, late October Caddis dry fly, caught and released a few feisty Red Bands.

These boots gave me a lot of grip, comfort, and confidence. Impressive product!.

Gotta say the boot was very comfortable even with smaller size. Maybe next size would have been too big. That being said, I wore them for the first time on my last fishing trip and slipped on the deck and broke a rib.

Being what I though a top notch fishing boot, I figured slipping would not be an issue. After the visit to the ER I viewed the bottom of boot, I noticed inadequate siping. Bottom was NOT siped on entire sole !! My buddies boot is supposedly a lesser grade of fishing boot and said he didn’t slip whatsoever.

Go figure!! As far as grippy bottoms …. gotta see for yourself but be careful “test the water!!”.

This is the 2nd product I have from Grundens. They make exceptional gear. Great for most on-deck and off-deck situations. Would advise against using them in extreme environments. They have other gear for that.

Best boat fishing boots I owned. Very nice comfortable arch and heel support and the thermoregulation of the inner lining keeps my feet cool in the summer and warm in the winter. Highly recommend for boat fishing.

Shimano used to make an Evair shoe similar to this but without the back. It fit perfectly and was totally waterproof. I’ve been wearing them for years. Of course they stopped making them and these shoes are the closest thing they make.

These new shoes are terrible! The back of the foot enclosure doesn’t ride right and the only adjustment is the little stretch strap on the side. If you tighten the strap, the shoe folds so it has to be left alone.

The inside of the shoe used to be formed to fit your foot and were great. These shoes were changed to be just flat and hard. They include a liner that doesn’t quite fit the shoe so your toes can feel the ends of the liner and develop blisters there.

The liner is so cheap it won’t last a season. But that won’t matter because the whole shoe doesn’t fit right. I recommend that you don’t buy these shoes. I used to wear Crocs but switched to the shimano years ago.

Now I tried on a pair of Crocs again and they were so much better than these shoes I returned them and bought a new pair of Crocs! The company returned them with no problem so I was glad about that.

Go to sandals for fishing, boating or just hanging around the sandbar/beach. No marring sole work perfect on your boat non skid. They last me about two years of heavy use. Love them!

Great shoes, so comfortable, excellent cycling shoes on the trails and even casual smart dress shoe if clean. The inner sole can squeak when walking but some powder sorts that out – overall more than recommended – I have 2 pair.

Fit great. Very comfortable. Got them for the boat for which they work great, but also find myself wearing them out running errands in the rain. Easy on/off. Last Christmas was given a pair of Huk deck boots and they were not as comfortable (not knocking Huk as I have some of their fishing shirts–shoes just weren’t as comfortable)–returned and got myself a pair of these and have loved them.

This pair was for my son as a gift this year. We’ve already been out fishing twice and he loved them too.

I have a short very wide foot with a high instep and finding boots that fit is an issue. I tried XTRATuff, but they were just too narrow to work for me without having to buy a larger boot my foot would swim in.

But Ketcham tackle did me a solid and recommended that I try the Pelagic factory store right down the street in Costa Mesa, CA. So I did and my feet are thankful for it! Was able to drop down a 1/2 size and find the perfect fit.

Took them out for an all day trip the next day and couldn’t be happier!.

I want to start off by saying I was worried before I purchased these because I have wide feet. I normally wear size 3E (Sketchers) wide shoes and so buying anything online I am hesitant because I worry they won’t fit.

After reading reviews about other brands running narrow I looked at the picture and felt these might as well. I was completely wrong. I wear a size 11. 5 in sketchers running shoes and the size 11 deck boots fit my foot well and are comfortable to wear.

The only thing I can’t comment on right now is the durability but my Pelagic shirts have stood the test of time so I have confidence these boots will last on my fishing trips the next few years.

I’ve used many other notable brands similar to the Pursuit boots and these have held up the longest (over 1year). The other brands lasted maybe 4 months. I use them on a chicken farm daily and they see a lot of abuse and consistent washing/disinfecting with harsh chemicals.

Boots are waterproof, comfortable, and durable. I stock up on these boots when I can.

Ordered a pair of these for a tuna fishing trip. I wear size 13 sneakers and ordered a size 12 in the boots as previous reviews suggested. The fit was perfect. Easy on and off plenty of room and comfortable fit all around.

The boots performed well, keeping my feet dry, good grip on the deck, and glad not to ruin a pair of sneakers on a fishing trip.

So far, this shoe has served me well during the summer in FL. It is a good addition to my arsenal of boat shoes to include Sperry,, Keen, Cabelas , Rugged Shark and LL Bean. I fish year round and these shoes will see seasonal abuse.

You cannot have enough shoes, rods, reels, lures or boats. What is good for the goose is good for the gander. never complain about what your wife spends om herself or grandchildren. Just buy my more from Tackle Direct.

I purchase a pair of sail fin fishing shoes about a year ago. They are the best pair of shoes that I have ever bought. Main use is to do yard work in all kind of condition. rain or shine they are on my feet in the yard.

A gift for my son. He had surgery on his ankle so when he goes fishing he has pain in his leg from standing on his boat for long periods & these shoes have really helped with that. Run a little small so get it a half size up.

Soft science are the best, they actually corrected a foot problem I had for many years. Its a shame the company went out of business, and I feel lucky to have found these online. Not particularly fond of the color, but my feet dont care.

Still looking for a blue pair.

Description does not say that the pocket is a different color. Picture doesn’t show either. I returned my blue ones because they had a big ugly purple pocket on them. Had to pay return shipping for vague advertising.

Good looking shoe. Very light. Feet were not tired at the end of the day. Breathable feet never got hot. They are a little stiff and rough with out socks. Wore them yesterday with some thin no show socks and was more comfortable.

I really like the right angle foot bed. I think with time they will get broke in. It’s hard to find a good comfortable fishing shoe. I think this may be it!.

I love how light these are, and they stick to a wet boat deck like glue. I’ve never felt so confident on my feet bumping around looking for/casting to fish, but I will say that they either take a while to break in or are just very uncomfortable.

It seems like I’m the outlier here, but I’m wearing them around town to try to break them in after a week long trip and still my feet are in pain.

I absolutely love these boots. I’ll know more about the traction if/when I have to break out the snow blower this winter. So far, they kept me from slipping on the ramp to our shed, which is covered with growth that gets slippery when wet.

I really like the fit, as they fit snug and the material allows it to flex where needed. I’ve worn them out while shopping and my dogs weren’t barking by the time I got home. They were also well packaged and arrived with no issues.

I liked them so much, I ordered a pair for my stepdad.

Seem decent. Reasonable amount of cushion, still able to feel what your stepping on quite well, super grippy. Waterproof of course, super flexible, easy on and off. Sizing seems pretty comparable to most shoes.

Don’t think I’d want to walk steadily for miles in them, but have had no issues wearing them around the yard in the rain and muck, or loading/unloading the fishing gear or wandering around the marina/ramp.

Been using these a bunch since receiving them, very warm comfortable boots. They skip on and off very easily. Have had them in water and feet stayed dry as can be. Overall a good purchase I was happy to buy after researching a lot of similar boots.

They are on the bigger side. Only complaint was shipping seemed to take forever and the status was never updated when I checked the boots just showed up one day.

Mostly personal preference. (5’11 170lbs Size 11) Neoprene top is a little too floppy for me. Top opening could have been smaller. Odd ball out where i could have used a 10 1/2 if it was available. Seemed to be more for standing still long periods of time vs traveling the riverbanks in.

I bought these shoes to go on a fishing trip. I wasn’t sure what the conditions would be so I wanted a shoe better than the tennis shoes I normally wear. First off I will say the shoes run a little small.

I normally wear a 11-1/2 or 12. I bought a 12 and it is a little short. My toes are at the very end. On the plus side the shoes have great grip. They were comfortable and look very nice. I’ve even worn them as casual shoes with jeans.

The quality of build is good, and the sole grip is excellent. I have worn them around the house to break them in, and they are now comfortable on my feet with socks on. Have not yet waded the river fishing, but that will be the final test for how well they drain water.

I prefer socks to keep sand and grit from rubbing against my feet.

These were for my husband, my son got a pair too for their week in Boundary Waters. They did not dry out quickly. One sole fell off and both have tears in the same spot on the side. They wanted to love them and neither were impressed and had a week of wet feet.

They’re nice boots. Hard to get on without sock. Def order a size up. I wear 10. 5 ordered 11, 11’s were tight. Re ordered 12’s and they were gold. I do wish the neoprene was water proof, the rubber is though.

I’m using them as my winter boat show. They kept my toes warm but I’m a sun lizard from Phoenix. Wore them for a whole day and only the tops of my feet started to ache. Not terribly. Hopefully they break in a little.

I am surprised Simms still sells these booties. I trashed a pair in 30 days of use on a mix of sand, coral and rocks. In reply to an earlier negative review Simms wrote that these booties are intended for use on sand flats.

Simms omitting to mention that in their sales literature. Warning: When used on sand the booties fill up with sand which makes for very uncomfortable wading. I requested that Simms gives a credit for the booties which I would use to upgrade to their Flat Sneakers.

Simms declined this, reasoning that it was not a material fault. In the end my embarrassed local tackle shop gave the requested credit on their own account. Very poor customer service.

The shop I purchased from was fantastic. Order shipped rights away and arrived ahead of schedule. Unfortunately these size 13 wading shoes feel more like 11s. Going to contact Simms when I get back from FLA to see what I can do about it.
