20 Best Shoes For Hardwood Floors (2023 Updated)

I love these shoes so much I ordered both blue and black, unfortunately I cannot get them to stop slipping on my heals. I have tried all the inserts and even a heal pad, but it still slips. I will have to return them.

I don’t see anything I like as well in that style and I wonder if they will slip as well as they close in a similar way. I also got Laguna and Francis and those are both perfect. I have a very overpronated flat foot.

The inserts are great, especially the plastic arch insert and the cushioned insole. I cannot go barefoot and also ordered Louise, the strap slippers, to wear inside. They are also working out very well.

Now to find a dressier shoe like the Quincy style that will not slip on my heels. Any suggestions?.

Nicolas Lizotte Purchased these to replace the regular old wool-knit slipper type I’ve been wearing for years. After a month’s wear, I would say they are an overpriced but adequate product. + With Glerups’ leather sole, I hope/imagine they will last longer than wool-knit slippers.

+ Danish made, 100% wool. + Glerups don’t look awful. = Glerups are about as warm as regular wool-knit slippers. – COST. Glerups are too expensive. I would say they might be good value at half-price.

– For the same warmth, Glerups don’t breathe as well as knit slippers (and cause a slight sweat). – Glerups’ aren’t as comfortable as wool-knit, they feel more constraining like a shoe would. – Glerups don’t keep ankles warm (I thought they might).

– Glerups’ leather soles and wool uppers are already showing wear (I have only worn them indoors on hardwood floors).

I have had my Glerups boot with a rubber sole (Charcoal colour) for three years and three months! They do not currently have the rubber sole option at MEC so I recommend going directly to the glerups website! Prior to this pair of slippers, my feet were never warm enough! I purchased the pair with the rubber sole because I did not want to change out of slippers to run to the herb garden or take the recycling out! They are very durable; I use the *#@$ out of them! The felt recently ripped but the soles are still intact.

I highly recommend these slippers and will be buying another pair! Some of my friends have also bought them and have not been disappointed. The only downfall is that they required new felt inserts for support and cushion a couple years in.

Glerups does not make these inserts but I found some that were made in Canada and they did the trick!.

i bought my wife a pair of LLBean slippers about 6-7 years ago that were quite expensive (~$175CAD) and she loved them – but ultimately, they wore out. shopping for a replacement, i looked at LLBean again but just felt like they were too expensive and i didn’t like how they ultimately wore out.

so i usually buy coats and cycling kit from altitude sports, and i remembered they sold footwear as well – and i found these lovely slippers. i like the sustainable construction, that they are a small company, and that they seem to be made to last.

i also wanted a leather sole as these are indoor-only. my wife slid them on and has commented several times about how comfortable they are, and supportive – not something you would normally expect from a slipper! they are also very warm (she’s chronically cold), and her feet don’t sweat in them.

win/win! now i want a pair.

When I initially put these on, I felt the lip on the back was irritating and just a little too short. After wearing them for the last month the slippers have truly molded to my feet. They are sooooo comfortable.

I have tried so many different brands of slippers ranging from $20 – $150 and these are the best. They keep their support really well and don’t hurt my heel. I have an arch in my foot and it supports that well too.

I really like these slippers. My feet are a little narrow but they don’t feel too loose or too tight. Would definitely buy them again and would definitely recommend!.

Haflinger Boiled Wool Slippers are the most wonderful slippers! They are the only slippers I have worn in the last sixteen years. I take them with me when I travel. They are as essential as my reading glasses! Neuromas in my feet originally lead me to them and they have been a godsend.

They are the only shoes I wear in my home and are slipped on and off throughout the day with ease. I treasure them too much to wear them outdoors. They are always the perfect temperature, soft and cozy.

I love the natural color because it is flattering to almost anything worn at home. They support the foot and cushion it from hard surfaces. Small rubbery dots on their bottoms make them non-skid. I have found they relax a bit after being worn or being stepped into with still damp feet after a shower or worn with a sock on cold winter days, so I order one size down from my regular shoe size and I have been happy with their fit in the long run.

(For example: I order the European size 39 even though I wear a US size 9 regular shoe) This choice is just my personal preference. But perhaps something to consider for others who might wear these non-stop throughout the year.

With my constant wear, they last me about a year and a half. I try to always have an extra pair waiting on a shelf in my closet. Yes, I love them that much :-)!.

I’ve been wearing Haflinger clogs and slippers for 15+ years. since I got neuromas and needed proper support. The novelty slippers are cute and also comfy, though they take me just a little time to break in the band around the opening.

With the seam, these are perfect from day 1. Comfy and cozy, and not too hot in summer (though it might be fun to have open toe for summer). I used to go through lots of slippers that had thick foam soles that quickly compressed and weren’t supportive at all.

These last a long time and are good for your feet. I am am 8. 5 and always wear 39 in EU. These slippers are machine washable, but sparingly. After 2-3 times, I notice layers starting to separate. And I always air dry.

I mostly spot clean, but a few times I’ve spilled food on them and they really needed washing. With my neuromas and low arches, I don’t go around barefoot very much.

The slippers are very warm and cozy! They’re soft and cushy and I’ve worn them out onto the deck and didn’t slip so I do like them quite well. I didn’t rate them a 5 star product because they are a little smaller than what I expected.

I would guess they’re about a half size smaller than a normal slipper in my size. With wearing them a few days I didn’t notice any stretching. which would’ve been great had they been just a little bigger.

I’d recommend them but buy them in a size larger than you normally buy.

This is my second pair, my first pair was gray,they were so comfortable I wore them shopping, My dog decided he also liked them, so I just got another pair, in a sand color, very pretty.

My husband is super picky about things and especially anything that goes on his feet. So I took a chance buying these, considering the price I did have high expectations. They are way better then expected and my husband really likes them.

They were exactly what he wanted and have all the comfort and appear to be a solid product, very well built.

I had purchased one pair for my husband & ended up Ordering 2 more pairs for him. He said, these slippers are super comfortable. They were snug at first, but because the slippers are fleece lined, never hurt his feet.

After wearing them for a short time, the slippers “pack-out” and mold to his feet. The sole is conducive to wear outside, when he takes the dog out. Husband wears these slippers every day. Probably will buy more when these 2 pairs are worn out.

After trying and returning 3 or 4 other pairs/brands of slippers, my husband finally settled on these. He loves them. Others either slipped off his heel or were too tight. These fit just right and he wears them all the time.

They are easy to slip on and off. They provide support and cushion, but not so much that they feel like shoes. The solid rubber bottoms prevent slipping on tile floors and are convenient to wear out to the garage or deck.

My husband is consistently a 12M. That’s what I ordered him and that is what fit.

I literally wore a hole through the heal and toe of my first pair. Not because of the quality of the shoe but I kept wearing them out into my gravel driveway. They are house shoes, maybe on the deck but stay out of the driveway.

Most comfortable and warm in the winter. I will buy another pair when and if I destroys this my most recient pair.

First my experience with Greats was not great. Received wrong information from Customer Service now I own two pair. Second pair arrived before first pair. They market this shoe as a WFH/Slipper, OMG ❤️❤️❤️ one of the most comfortable shoe I’ve worn since Birkenstock.

The insole conforms to shape of sole just enough. I keep wishing the inside of shoe was not synthetic, not going to like in summer. My biggest irk/annoyance is the entire sole is made of same material, therefore side of shoe is creased and continuing to collapse.

My biggest and reason I’m going to reduce stars to 2 (got annoyed I paid 200. 00) the seam on sole iz glued thus causing insecurities in the purchase. Not worth 100. 00 or hassle to get refund. After taking WFH Slipper goggles off definitely wouldn’t buy again for 99.

I love the look of them, but once I got them I was surprised at how flimsy and cheap feeling they are. The base feels like one of those foam flip flops with some other fabric glued to it. I’ve had them for about a week and the “leather” wrapping that connects the base to the upper is already starting to bubble and separate.

The website shows people wearing these outside, but don’t even try it. I walked down my driveway in them and my toe lightly scuffed the concrete and it immediately created a small tear. I own several pairs of Greats sneakers and thought these slippers would have the same level of quality, but yikes! Writing this review bums me out.

I have been a repeat customer of Greats over the last couple of years. I typically do not write negative reviews but I felt inclined to share my customer experience. I purchased a pair of The Foster Slipper on December 8th which I was planning to gift to my sister for Christmas.

I had bought two pairs for myself and my wife and thought they were wonderful house slippers. I figured, ~three weeks prior to Christmas would be enough to beat out any high demand due to the season.

My order was confirmed and Greats advised they would send me a confirmation once the item was shipped. After ~one week, on December 16th, I still had not received a confirmation so I sent customer service a follow-up to understand the status.

After three days (THREE DAYS), someone from customer service e-mailed me back advising they forwarded my issue to another department and they would get back to me with an e-mail. I waited for a response.

After another three days (ANOTHER THREE DAYS), I sent a follow-up e-mail asking what the status was (it’s already December 22nd at this stage). I finally got a response four days later. outlined below is their exact response: “Due to extremely high volume we are experiencing some shipping delays.

We have all hands on deck to get all orders shipped as soon as possible. Rest assured today we are escalating this matter for you by emailing directly the warehouse. Once we will receive a more specific update towards the ship date you will be notified accordingly.

” At this stage, the slippers had still not been shipped (three weeks after my initial confirmation). For some additional context, I live in NY. I had originally wanted to ship the slippers to my friend’s place in California so I could give the gift to my sister in person who also lives in California since I was traveling there for Christmas.

By the time I received Greats’ response, I had already left California so I sent them an e-mail to ask them to change the shipping address (since they hadn’t sent it yet. ) to my sister’s address so she could receive it directly.

Here is Great’s exact response: “We would like to inform you that we are unable to make changes on an existing order. The system won’t allow us to modify details such as color, size, style or shipping address once an order is placed.

As the order is not yet shipped, we can forwarded the order for a cancelation and you may replace it on the website for the correct color/size/style/shipping address. ” All in all, I am incredibly disappointed in the experience.

It has made me bitter and frustrated and nothing has been resolved (it’s now December 29th). I have rooted for this company to succeed for many years. I bought my first pair of Greats shoes back in 2017 (Order #88464).

Customer service’s solution to my problem was: 1) delay response 2) advise no changes can be made to the order 3) encourage me to cancel the order and then re-submit a new order. Why? So I can wait for another month of you holding on to cash without anything being shipped? I will not be purchasing any more items from Greats.

I ordered a mens size 10 slipper. Even though the invoice, shoe box and shoe all read “size 10m” it clearly was a much smaller size. Maybe about a size 7 or 7. 5. I called customer service only to discover that if I requested a replacement I would most likely receive the same slippers back.

Therefore I have requested a refund with much disappointment because the construction of the slipper looked superior. I am hesitant to rate my experience as a 1 star but it reflects the reality.

I really liked the slipper especially the comfortable insert. The style and indoor/outdoor design was also appealing. Unfortunately because the insole was thicker for comfort and support, it pushed my foot too high and my foot pressed against the firm top of slipper causing pain.

These would probably be fine with someone who has a narrow foot. I was so disappointed they didn’t fit right.

These slippers run small per reviews so I ordered a size up. They are still to small. Plus, it feels as if I’m walking in high heels. I prefer flats for slippers. The sole of these are heavy. Didn’t like that either.

Description said go up a size. Not enough…went up two. Otherwise good hard soled slippers. I have Achilles’ tendon issues and need the slight wedge. Would like to have a lighter color.

I love these slippers! I wear s size 7 1/2 but got size 8. They fit perfectly. Also medium width fits snug not for wide feet. They have a sturdy but flexible sole with a slightly elevated heel. So glad I bought these slippers.

So I waited 3 weeks to write my review wanting to have them properly worn in 1st. These were a very new concept to me so I was honestly very skeptical and there was indeed an adjustment curve to get used to it.

I wear a wide so I immediately got 1/2 size larger and am glad I did because these are perfect! I wear a 9 wide in quantum so get these 1/2 size larger if you are a wide 9 in Quantum. Although they are heavier, it really doesn’t cause me issue nor do I find it a problem.

I can’t go barefoot and my rubber oofos summer slippers weren’t going to cut it for cold winter weather. In past years I literally wore gym shoes inside the house for winter and its just not as nice to take off slippers when putting feet up on the couch, etc.

I discovered Kuru with the quantum so this was a wonderful 2nd pair. I’m pretty sold on Kuru and ordered 2 more Kuru shoes today actually!.

I am usually a size 8. I ordered a size 9 because it said to size up one size. When I received the shoes they were too small. So I exchanged them for a size 10. Living overseas I had to pay for shipping back to the States and then again to have new shoes delivered to me.

That was about a third of the cost of the shoes. The size 10’s are also too small (narrow)! My heel comes slightly over the back edge and the front top of the slipper is too narrow for my foot to fit into smoothly.

I am a small man, 170 cms. My feet are not wide. I always buy normal width shoes and slippers. I am very disappointed because I was thinking of buying more shoes in the future. This will be the only pair I purchase from Kuru.

I’ve had them for 3-4 weeks. I’ve experienced heal pain in my left heel for some time and since our house has hardwood floors I decided to purchase these for slippers around the house. They have been wonderful.

I also had my foot looked at and turns out I have a muscle from my calf that is pulling on the attached portion of my heel. Addressing that while also using a great slipper has helped immensely. I’m planning to purchase a pair of workout shoes for my HiiT workouts to continue to provide TLC for my feet.

Size 9 Without socks are loose, but since I occasionally wear socks in winter they work for now.

First off, THANK YOU Merrell for offering wide widths. I don’t know if people are just ok with jamming their feet into unnaturally shaped shoes or if I just have wider feet than most. But, I need wide shoes comparable to what’s being sold by these big companies.

Starting to see a lot of natural style splay shoes being offered but they’re still few and far between. These Novas are simple and get the job done. They have solid tread that work on pavement and trails.

I’ve taken them on 3 mile sidewalk runs by the house and also up elevation on loose trails. The one thing I wasn’t crazy about is the height of the platform. If you have weaker ankles or tend to roll ankles on trails or sharp turns, you might want to brace up.

These soles feel a couple mm too high for an ideal trail running shoe but they’re still right up there with every other high end trail shoe I’ve tried (Hoka, Topo, Altras), but these have the edge due to their accurate size and generous width.

Will likely buy the ankle high version and also try out some proper hiking shoes in wide.

These are my absolute favorite slippers. They keep my feet cozy warm without getting too hot. They also have a durable bottom that I can run down to the mail box in them and they’ve held up nicely over a year now.

They run a size small, so I suggest sizing up once size and they will fit perfectly!.

Bought 2 pairs of these wool clogs a couple of weeks ago. Wore them right out of the box with no breaking-in required. I wore similar clogs for years until they were worn out. Instead of a cork sole, these have a sturdy indoor/outdoor sole and soft fleece lining.

They keep my feet warm and I feel the support is good. A neuropathy affects my balance, so it’s very important that my shoes provide solid footing, and these clogs do. The price is excellent and about $50 less than leading brands.

These are a Christmas gift to me. Will they hold up as well as my Haflingers? Will they be as warm? If they do at the price they are an EXCELLENT purchase. Time will tell. Ask me again after Christmas when I start to wear them.

Due to the lasting side effects of chem0 my feet are always cold. As a result, I wear wool clogs year round. I like to have various colors to go with my slacks or jeans.

They seemed okay, but not as cushy as I would’ve expected from a show named “cush”. I need some cushioning for the ball of my foot and big toe, and the name made me think they would work. It doesn’t.

My foot isn’t really wide (slightly wider than some mediums, but not really wide), so they felt much too big. Also, the height around the back is awkward and rubbed against my ankle; I could tell it would hurt after a while since the material is a bit on the rough side.

Maybe would work for some if you have a problem with foot and ankle swelling, but the cushioning was off for me, I need more. Also, the shoe was a bit ugly, but I don’t care as much about that when I have foot pain.

The first one size 10D was the blue floral, the most recent black floral. The black floral is at least 1/2 size smaller but both are stated as 10D. I am waiting to exchange the size 10 for the 10. 5 but it is out of stock.

Not sure if the sizing was a mistake in labeling or not. I was sent a return label by the company. My mom really likes these so we thought of getting her a second pair, oh well.

These shoes are very handy for the type house slipper my 89 year old Dad needs. They are very easy to get off and on. However, I was disappointed in the cushioning and the arch support. It was there, but very minimal.

I actually bought some insoles to replace the ones that came with the shoe. Now they are comfortable, supportive and useful. For the price of the shoe, I expected more cushion and better arch support.

Shipping was fast and the shoe is well built.

Very comfortable shoes. Great value for money.

Each year I purchase two Natural Reflections Trapper Moc Slippers for Ladies. This is my FAVORITE buy from BPS. They are great to wear at work, around the house or to go out. You can dress them up or dress down.

They fit the size and keep your toes warm. I would recommend wearing no show socks to keep the inside clean. They are not waterproof, so do not submerge them in a large rain puddle. I have had the black, brown, tan, and leopard print style.

I have also given these away as gifts in the past. I have purchased this in-Store and Online.

I have owned 3 different pairs of these moccasins now. I bought my first pair when I was 14, actually. They always become my favorite shoes, quick. They’re warm, comfy, and go with everything. I’ve owned the tan, winter white, and right now I’m wearing the gray.

My mother saw how much I liked them, and asked me to get her some for her birthday. She received them today and absolutely loves them as well. My only issue is, I wear these all day every day in the winter, with every outfit.

So they wear out a little faster than they usually would. But that’s okay, because I’m going to buy more pairs in more colors so I have more to match!.

Tl,dr: slippers lost their loftiness and are now floppy and shuffly. I love these slippers. I wear a women’s size 7 to 8 (depending on the type of shoe). By the size chart that puts me safely in the Small, so that is what I ordered.

They arrived, gloriously pillowed and soft and squishy, so I kicked off my old (non-MeUndies) slippers to the curb and giggled as I sank into the new plush softness of my Tartan Plaid Hard Sole Slippers.

Well, by the end of the day, my slippers were not as loftily cushiony, but had molded to my feet. Great? Kinda. In becoming foot shaped, there was so much extra room. So. Much. Room. I was chucking my old slippers because they were loose and shuffly and floppy.

So now I have nice new loose and shuffly slippers. Good: upper half of slippers are still cozy and the sherpa is nice. I need hard soles in house with several pets and more people. The outer fabric does not hold dog hair like my other kind.

Less good: foam in the footbed is formed to my feet so there is a lot more room in the slipper so it flops when I walk. I would consider this as not being true to size. I now have easily a centimeter of space behind my heel to the back of the slipper.

I just bought the Extra Small.

I’m a size 11. 5-12. I bought the XL’s but after wearing them a bit and the padding settling, I might have been better with the larges. I bought these to wear in the house in the winter. Sometimes wearing them outside to take out the garbage.

And they fit the bill. I think they’re great. They are warm and comfortable. They are foam padding with fake, fur like, lining with a rubber sole. I don’t know why people are complaining about “support” and “durability” for what is ultimately a slipper.

Other than workmanship, of course, and so far these are holding up fine.

While they are very cute and I enjoy that they match the underwear I got with them, I feel like their quality does not match the underwear. The soles feel a little crooked but that could be my feet. My biggest gripe with them is the white fluff on the outside: it doesn’t add to the comfort at all and they get dirty very quickly.

Just from walking around my porch they have collected dry grass and whatnot and when I try to pick it out the fluff comes along with it. I would not even want to imagine what they would look like in a house with lots of animal hair.

But they look nice!.
