20 Best Shoes For Fitness Walking (2023 Updated)

I bought these shoes initially for going on walks with my dog. I have health issues and two replaced hips, so the slip on design was is perfect for me. I walk with my doh on unpaved paths throught the woods in our local park.

They provide terrific support and are outstanding for the unpaved paths. Great grip and cushioning for comfort on long walks. These shoes give me confidence to go on walks like this in my condition. I have recommended these to others with similar conditions.

They have all bought them and are super happy with them. These shoes are great quality, long lasting and are a terrific value for the price. I have bought frou pairs of these shoes since 2015, and they get daily use.

So far so good. I have several problems with my feet and legs along with arthritic fingers that were given me with my older age of 81. Shoestrings are a real problem to tie. Reason I started looking for Velcro strap tennis shoes.

Since I am not shopping for shoes with shoestrings anymore, you would do customers like me a real favor by grouping Velcro closure shoes by themselves. I spent way too much time trying to pan thru your pages of shoe offerings.

My next purchase could be a pair of dress shoes with Velcro straps. But I hope to be able to review them in a section of Velcro strap shoes only. Thank you.

I have really crappy feet. The rest of me is holding up pretty well, but I have bunions, arthritis, plantar fasciitis, ugh! I have had a few pairs of Rykas – when I buy a new pair every 1-3 years, the old ones become my gardening shoes, and I only buy a new pair when I’ve absolutely trashed the garden pair.

They hold up really well, and I wear them a LOT when I’m not in office shoes. Three months ago I had surgery on one foot, and recovery has been slow and painful. It has been difficult to find shoes with enough support for the PF and still are kind to my bunion surgical area.

In almost desperation I pulled out my Rykas (garden shoes – I admit I was unfaithful last year when I tried another brand, but the other brand is only OK). I put the Rykas on, and I kid you not, I sighed out loud in happiness.

Then I took my dog for a long walk! Still supportive, still distributing my weight well as I walk. These sneakers are reasonably priced, well made, above all comfortable! I just ordered a new pair, but I’ll keep wearing my garden shoes until they arrive!.

Shoe box marked with shoes I ordered something entirely different was inside. Wasn’t even Ryka shoes. QVC quality control is basically non existent. Also Rykä try bringing back popular shoes. I looked for a year or more to find a shoe that didn’t cause my feet and back to hurt and love your Skywalk 2.

Have back troubles and wear own orthotic and could actually start walking again. Looks like you only sold them once and quit making them. Your other products aren’t that great. Bring back something people can wear and liked just like they were originally sold.

I just got my Quiet Grey size 71/2 M Ryka new walking shoes this week. Wow, what a great fit. I love the cushioning when you step down. My ONLY request would be that the inside ‘top’ of the toe box be lined.

I cannot wear these without sox as they have open seams on sides and the mesh atop is scratchy That means I can not wear them bare footed as I’d hoped for my summer walking routine. Sox are fine in the winter, but wish I had the option to go without when I want.

The Grey with accents of Turquoise is very nicely done and attractive. I know I won’t come home now with throbbing feet and legs as I’ve been doing in my Sketchers. These Rykas have great support and my steps feel solid.

I’m not a young person any more and secure footing is very important to me. I can tell these keep me well balanced. I’ve worn Rykas in the past and didn’t appreciate what they do for me until I got a little older and can FEEL what this kind of fit and support means to my body when walking.

I highly recommend these. I recommend choosing your correct size, No need to adjust. These are JUST RIGHT.

*Reebok Dailyfit DMX Sneaker. I have pretty bad foot problems, encapsulation with hammer toe starting now and FHL tendonitis. I was to the point where I couldn’t put any pressure on the front of my foot at all (ie: had to step sideways to walk down the stairs) and was developing a pretty significant limp.

I don’t usually wear Reebok but I read an article about the 10 best walking shoes for foot problems and these were the only ones that I could even remotely afford ($60 vs $200+) but I am so glad that they were bcz they are awesome! They are stretchy and so roomy inside but still fit true to size.

The main part of the sole is clear-ish and within it you can see what I guess are air pockets bcz you can feel the air in them when you step. It’s incredible. I love them so much that I bought my daughter a pair and an buying me a 2nd.

These are incredibly comfortable shoes- I’ve been wearing them for long stretches of time without any complaints. The color is cute for Fall and the shoe pairs nicely with a variety of leggings and my army green tote (although the color of these are lighter than army green yet complementary).

They are slightly big on me- I actually first bought 1/2 size down, but then exchanged them for my “normal” size. I do not have the experience of some other reviews saying they run small, because they have a little extra room (length) in my regular size.

I have bought at least 5 pairs of the daily fit in different colors over the past few years and have loved them. This new style was a huge disappointment. The fabric of the shoe had way less stretch than all other previous pairs I have bought even though it was the same size that I normally order.

Also the fabric on the heel is not soft at all. I could only imagine the blisters it would create if I tried to break them in. Returned this pair.

I’ve been looking for years for exactly what these are! Light, flexible, slip on type of slipper for wandering around the house & checking the mail box outside. I call them my “sock savers” cause until now, I’ve been putting holes in tons of my sock’s heals without this product.

I’ve tried different types of regular slippers & do not like the bulky feel or the hard stiff bottoms they have. These are so flexible, they fold in half! Not that I would need to though, haha! I also like that the material breathes & keeps my hard working feet cool after a days work(on my feet).

I can also step in a puddle or go out for the mail in the rain with these. What a great invention for our tired, hurting feet!!.

I just got a pair, and they seem quite comfortable. Two things I wish were a little different, though. First, they were not kidding when they said “runs small”. I got the largest size I could, and they are none too loose.

Second, their “navy” looks more blue-green, like “teal” or something similar to me. Not a big deal, but worth mentioning. I am mostly planning on wearing these around the house & yard, so I expect them to be more mud brown or dusty gray shortly.

Bought these based on picture. Very misleading. Tire tread with stretchy material sewn on. Like wearing socks with hard soul.

It is really hard for me to find shoes that I can wear longer than a few minutes before my feet virtually cripple me. I have plantars faciitis in both feet as well as Morton’s Neuroma in my left foot.

These shoes let me walk for most of the day without my feet hurting much at all. These shoes were the answer for me. Not only are they comfortable, they are light, easy to put on – I hate laces – and they look good plus they are available in the wide width.

On top of all that, the price is right. These shoes look like shoes that cost a lot more as they are well made. can’t go wrong with these. I plan on purchasing another pair as soon as I wear these out and at the rate I’m going that will be pretty soon.

The only change I would like to see is to make a few more colors available.

And that includes stiletto high heels with super pointy toes back in the day. No joke I bought these because I have neuropathy issues in my feet. I happily traded style and good looks for the comfort I anticipated these clunkers might provide.

But they have virtually NO flexibility and dig into my flesh to the point of breaking skin and causing sores on my feet. Furthermore, despite Dr. Leonards claims to the contrary, they have ZERO breathability.

I would give them less than one star if that were possible. Hate, hate, hate them.

I ordered the 8wide shoe. They came today, and put them on. My feet were happy! Now I can wear these to work tomorrow, and my feet will feel better than what I was wearing before. The other work shoes that I had were also slip resistant, but the material was hard.

These sneakers are manageable. I would recommend.

I have gotten around to wearing these for the first time this morning for a walk in the park and I am blown away by the comfort of these walking trainers, they are exceedingly comfortable, the sole has just the right firmness and the slip in is perfect and holds ones feet in place.

I Have personally worn New Balance shoes for decades. I used to wear Nike and Adidas, but I had such bad foot and low back pain at the end of my nursing shift that I started paying attention to what some of my coworkers were wearing and I noticed a lot of New Balance, so I decided to try them, and I have never gone back, I recommend them to everyone who complains about foot pain or asks me about how I like mine.

I have had such a wonderful experience with every pair I’ve bought, never got a bum pair, but there are styles I like better than others. This pair that I’m reviewing for this particular purchase, I actually bought for my mom who is 85yrs old and diabetic.

For some time she’s been complaining about her expensive, doctor prescribed diabetic shoes that she could only get in person from the Hanger company. They were so heavy, she wasn’t picking up her feet high enough when she walked and was having a lot of falls, one that resulted with a broken hip.

So I decided to take a chance, with utmost faith and confidence, and I purchased these shoes for my mom. They were true to size, she has a narrow heal and wide toe bed and she says they feel like a dream, the heal hugs hers, they’re light weight and have a nice wide sole, and she said she felt so much more stable when she walked.

This is the 2nd pair I bought for her, the 1st pair were a neutral khaki color, but she likes to wear black a lot, so I bought her a black pair when they came on sale, and she just loves them, couldn’t thank me enough, and by the way, this woman is sooooo hard to please!.

I always buy 7 2W shoes from New Balance. Over the years, they have always served me well. but this pair of 577 v1 hook and loop was so tight that I had pain every time I wore it around the house (did that so I could it back if it did not fit).

Finally, I measured it against some of the other pairs I have, it it was more than a half inch shorter. I sent it back. 7 2W NB shoes with a white sole (so it won’t scratch hardwood floors in our house) are rare, so I may try to go to a NB stare where I can try on another pair to see if this is a one off issue.

Another more minor complaint. The VELCRO is quite short, so if you want to wear the shoe loose, of want to adjust for a high foot, you can’t do it. That is a really bad way to cut production costs.

I normally love NB sneakers and I got these because they’re solid black and I can wear them into the office. However, I’m really disappointed with these. They are very stiff and the tongue is huge and gets in the way.

The laces are also extraordinarily long. I also take a narrow width and these do not feel like the usual NB narrow, especially in the heel. The heel also feels lower than the rest of the shoe, almost like my heel is sitting in a hole.

They also seem a bit short. Unfortunately, I’ve worn them so I can’t return them. I selected Runs Large because they are too wide, but they are also a bit short.

I am a walker, not a runner, not a stroller. I walk. Not really speed walk but probably not far from. My ASICS are usually fine but I wanted something with a little more cushioning and support. These Rykas are great and honestly you can feel the extra spring they provide in your step.

I can do just over a 16 minute/mile pace for 2+ miles with more ease, and was able to go under 16 min/mile a few times. And I live in WV so that’s up and down hills. If it was flat, I could do 15-min/mile easy in these.

I will say that I bought the 8. 5 and I probably should have gone with the 9. I’m either of those sizes depending on the shoe. So if you’re kinda between, go with the size up. I hate when shoes are too long because my heel tends to swim in them.

But these at the size up wouldn’t have that problem. That being said, the 8. 5 are only a wee bit short. Bottom line is that if you are a walker for exercise, you will love these. They will B absolutely make a difference in your step.

I have a hard time finding sneakers for wide feet that are true to size and comfortable, until now! After trying almost every brand possible, I bit the bullet and spent a little more than usual on this purchase.

I now see why! You pay for what you get! And these sneakers are totally worth it if you’re looking for comfort, light weight and super cute and vibrant. I got the yellow highlighter looking color (they say it’s neon green I believe) but it’s more highlighter yellow to me.

Anyway, I think I’ll only buy Ryka from now on!.

I bought these excited to get a Ryka walking shoe. I wasn’t sure of size, so went by size guide. It took forever to get these and when I finally did, I was thrilled…until I put them on. They were small,still, tight.

I was so disappointed because I had a previous pair of Vera sneakers that I absolutely LOVED. Because it to so long to get these, I’ll probably just try to sell them myself and stick with my Brooks for walking.

Get quicker shipping and maybe revisit your size chart and I might consider trying your product again.
