Note that to adjust (use the slide) on the laces you have to squeeze a small bar with thumb and finger. I find this slightly difficult to do. I have other elastic laces where the slider requires pressure between thumb and finger that is easier, more of a button rather than bar.

So if you are looking for elastic ties because of arthritis and expect to have to adjust them often, look at the various alternatives and consider the type of slider.

I have used Lock Laces for tennis shoes in the past, but came across the boot version when looking to replace the laces in my Merrell boots. Like the sneaker version, these are great! Great value, basically the same cost as good tieable boot laces that grab welll and can take a beating. That’s exactly what you get with these. The brand name lock laces don’t slip, and even the expensive ones that came in my keen work sneakers slipped loose.

Got a set in my timberland industrial work sneakers and a set in my thorogood mock toes now too with the additional sets.

My son has difficultly with fine motor skills and needs alternative laces for his shoes. Lock lace are thick and sturdy with enough elasticity to allow for slipping on the sneaker without getting stretched out.

I have reused the laces when buying him new shoes with no issues, so you can definitely get your money’s worth out of them if you have kids with growing feet (just don’t cut the laces too short). Excellent product which I recommend to other parents of kids with special needs.

I have tried other rubber shoelace products available on eBay before trying out Hickies. I have found these cheaper equivalents to be good but not long-lasting. Part of the issue for me is that I have large size-12 feet which makes the smaller laces in the pack redundant.

With Hickies, all of the laces are the same size. The booklet that comes with them contain several different suggestions for how to tie the laces for a looser or tighter fit. However, for me the fit is already tight just by lacing them regularly.

I think this is the only thing that lets them down. They are ideally suited to people with smaller feet, perhaps size 10 or below. In terms of the quality, they feel like they will last even though my feet are stretching the hell out of them! So overall a good product but not for people with big feet.

I have a high instep and these don’t allow for adjustment. I need a little bit more looseness/flexibility in the eyelets closest to my ankle in order to slip my foot in and out of the shoe, I’m not able to do that with these laces.

Also, the lower eyelets, closer to my toes, are very loose and I need a little bit more tightness there to keep my foot from slipping around. I love the idea, just don’t like the product for myself.

I have replaced all of my shoe laces with the elastic laces from Hickies. I love the convenience of sliding on my shoes. Just a note – I do not have an elastic lace in the topmost hole so it is easier to keep the tongue from sneaking down.

I also have a pair of sneakers that has a very wide space at the bottom of the laces. I left that set of holes empty as the tongue buckled when I put the elastic lace in them. Works just fine without a lace there.

round Gold/Brown. I bought directly at Walmart Store $2. 00 in 12/2020. i work 7 days a week and wear boots that are exposed to the elements. Laces are exposed to the elements daily since i wear my boots over pants.

Mine are Made in Honduras. My laces are very durable for the past 2 years. Same laces, same way i pull them tight and lace them on and off. No problem here. I dont know why these same laces is costing the same price as kevlar laces.

It should only cost $2. 00 maybe $3. 00 tops.

I use these to make turk’s heads for rifle slings and riot batons, NRA M1 match shooting restricts a sling to two keepers. For actual use I prefer four with a Turk’s head at each swivel. it keeps the sling tighter with less flopping around.

I bought leather laces because I remember them being the strongest, and I have had trouble with woven bootlaces not lasting. However, I didn’t even get the laces in my boots without breaking both of them.

I dont know where S. C. Johnson buys their leather, but it needs investigating. I rated one star because there arent negative numbers.

The print is a bit rough and every time i put tge lace through an eyelet I’m afraid one of the letters will scrape off. That didn’t happen when I was lacing my shoes but I’ve still got a bad feeling about it.

Aside from that, they’re nice.

Quality on these are terrible just got mine today and you can already see the letters coming off and the letters aren’t even like come on. I was gonna put in my off-white dunks but it feels like a true waste of money if you get these don’t expect to look or feel like actually off white laces.

These are my third pair of Xtenex laces and love them! Super easy to fit and get just right with no little plastic clips like other laces and you can fine tune these for every part of the foot! My only gripe would be the shipping to Australia is far too expensive and mostly because of the size of the shipping parcel you send! These are a tiny packet of laces that can’t really get damaged yet they are sent in a box you could fit a few hundred packets of laces in with a heap of bubble wrap around them as if you were sending fine china around the world or something! I’d love to buy more for future shoes but not until the shipping is more reasonable as these only need to go in an envelope not a massive box at great expense (you can also save a heap on plastic bubble wrap!).

These are fantastic. Once you get the hang of how to put them into your trainers, which is not that difficult (stretch them out) these will save you so much time. You get an excellent fit and don’t need to tie/untie your trainers each time.

I bought these laces a week ago and ive just ordered a second pair for my spare trainers. Takes a few minutes to lace them so they feel right for you and thats it. Did a 13 mile run in them and they feel great.

I like the color combinations that are available for interchangeable wears with Docs. I did think the laces would have been a little beefier since they are for wear with the bulky Dr Martens boots.

Love the idea and convenience of just sliding my foot in my hybrid dress shoes!, but after 5 of my kids and me used it for a few weeks the HICKIES LACE just SNAPPED OFF BREAKING APART! SO SO DISAPPOINTED OF THE QUALITY! FOR THE PRICE THE HICKIES SHOULD HAVE MORE DURABLE MATERIAL THAN THIS! I’VE TRY TO COMMENT WITH HICKIES REPRESENTATIVE AND GOTTEN TOLD THAT WE ARE USING IT WRONG! SO AFTER ALMOST $200 I WILL NO LONGER PURCHASE ANY MORE TILL FURTHER DISIGN ON THE DURABILITY.

Purchased to replace the standard colour laces that come with the HOKA ONE ONE BONDI 7 (4E). With only two colours available with these shoes, they sure need a bit of a colour kick. Unfortunately the blue ones I purchased at the same time did not arrive (see separate review).

If green ones had been available, I’d have had red (left foot) and green (right foot) as a salute to those ex-Navy workmates who I hassled over the years about which service was the actual Senior Service.

It feels funny reviewing shoelaces. But I had to do it. I had an outstanding experience and here is why. I walked in and was wandering around trying to find where the shoelaces were when I was approached by a young man who asked if he could help.

He took me to the shoelace display and asked what kind of shoelace I was looking for. I held up the one old shoelace I brought in. He walked me through the choices, but couldn’t be sure of the length.

We took our best shot at the length, but that wasn’t good enough for the associate. He insisted opening the package and checking the length. When he confirmed the length, he then insisted on giving me an unopened package.

I finally prevailed. But this attention and generosity did not and will not go unnoticed or unappreciated.

I needed new shoelaces to replace the original ones in a pair of walking shoes I had bought at REI. These laces looked quite similar to the originals. The plain light gray color, the only color available, was quite appropriate.

I have not had these laces long enough to know how well they will last, but so far they are doing fine. WARNING: The packaging said that these laces were for shoes having 7-8 eyelets, the only length that was available.

My shoes had only 6 eyelets, but the laces were just barely long enough. So, check whether they will fit your shoes.

These are so thin, no good. The vender implied in its name it it is Army, Nayy PX or something like that, but I have baught many laces on base and these are not the same. No way our military would wear these, they would constantly be out of action changing broken laces.

NOT “Boot” laces !!! Thin & cheap. I expected more from “Military Grade” as I expected a thicker larger diameter. With that said, they are fairly decent laces overall, but If you need “boot laces” then look elesewhere IMO.

Theyre much fatter laces and are softer and therefore are harder to make boot snugger. Theyre just not like the stronger (paracord) harder standard issue laces. One in pic (R) is the real deal – the Left one (pic) is the cheaper version – fatter one.

Got 4 pairs of these kids ones ($25!) as an adult so I could easily slide on shoes in last trimester. I measured my own laces across and the kids length looked like right size. They would be if they weren’t so insanely stretchy! Put them in converse lows and a pair of walking shoes.

Even in tightest lacing pattern, my heals pop out of shoes if I don’t walk carefully. The tightest lacing pattern also makes the sides and tongue bunch up in weird ways that is uncomfortable and STILL makes them hard to put on because I have to try to arrange it all so it’s flat.

which doesn’t last. The look of the weave and the fasteners are great but these really need a stronger elastic so they hold your foot in.

Before I talk about the product I would like to give a word about the company itself. I ordered a couple of different colors of the kid laces. One of those colors was sold out but not marked as such on the website when I ordered.

I won’t say what they did because I don’t want others to naturally expect things but they made a gesture to us that was unexpected and over the top. Just because a product was sold out. Incredible. Furthermore, I completely forgot about the sold out product until one day a couple of months later when they had their new stock I randomly got a package in the mail from them saying “we owe you these”.

Fantastic company, that’s how you build a business and a loyal customer base. The product is great. No question about it. It works just like they say it does and they have not failed with months of abuse by my child.

That says a lot since none of the other lace alternatives have been able to withstand him.

I bought a set of the Kids Sunshine and Blue Skies pack for my 5 year old who’s unable to tie his shoes due to disability. I was pretty upset when upon lacing up the second shoe, two of the eyelets came off in the process, rendering them useless.

I submitted a comment stating my disappointment with the product, but didn’t want to leave a bad review as it seemed to be a manufacturing issue and not a design flaw. They were inexpensive which was one of the things that influenced my decision to purchase them to begin with, and didnt want to deal with the hassle of returning for a refund.

I received an email shortly after, giving me a full refund, explaining that there was a manufacturing problem, and I pretty much just had bad timing in ordering them before that batch could all be recalled, and they would send me new ones.

To my surprise, I was sent three complete replacement sets, in the form of a six pack of each color included in the original pack I ordered. Also included was a handwritten note. Thankfully the laces worked this time and I was able to successfully lace both my son’s shoes without a single eyelet breaking.

Even if they had, I’d still have plenty to spare thanks to the generous replacement I received. Despite a rocky introduction to U-Lace, I am extremely pleased with their customer service, and the new laces are exactly what I had originally hoped for.

I will definitely be recommending them to other parents!.
