20 Best Shoe Inserts For Heels (2023 Updated)

These insoles didn’t work out. I put them in a new pair of black sandals. I was glad to read that the insoles would not damage my sandals when removed. However, there are several problems with this insole compared to previous Dr.

Scholl’s inserts I’ve used. Because there’s a lip on the perimeter of the insole, it picked up black dye and fibers from the sandal straps and looks disgustingly dirty. Because the insole is wide and has a lip, it shows all the way around, not particularly attractive in a sandal.

Finally, I wore these sandals twice with this insole, and it will no longer stay in place. I’m very disappointed and would not recommend these for sandals, an open toe flat perhaps, but not sandals.

If you have a shoe that’s missing a sole entirely, I can imagine this helps. But if you’re looking for support and comfort, this is not it. I work retail and stand for 7 hours a day and this was just a glorified extra layer of shoe.

Same amount of foot pain as I had without it. The “flex” arch essentially means no support. “Moving with your arch” doesn’t make any sense unless you’re consistently flexing and I flexing your foot. It’s flat and remains flat because your arch is not changing shape as you walk.

I have plantar fasciitis and quite a bit of pain in my heel and this did nothing for it. Find something else.

Likes first – these have turned my thin-soled gladiators into Birkenstocks on a recent vacation. No pain after walking 25-30,000 steps every day. Especially the arch support was really noticeable. Con – they did slip out eventually and got slightly damaged where the back would touch the ground.

They cannot be glued in which is both a pro and a con. And they got really dirty on the bottom. Despite daily washing they looked year old after a week. They probably work better with shoes that have more “structure” to them.

Good for heels 👠👏. Especially after a long day. I have worn my heels since I can remember learning to walk in shoes. Honestly though, alot of the Dr. scholls or any ortho type insert is a great addition.

Especially for long days on your feet or just for added support.

I wear 6. 5 and I don’t recommend these for anyone with feet larger than 6. 5! The instructions say to put the heel part to the back but that’ll mean the arch part falls short of the arch on your foot.

So for larger feet, you’ll have to move the insoles further in the shoe, which would mean less cushion for your heel. For smaller feet, you have to adjust the insoles a lot to try to get the arch hump of the insole to match up with your own foot arch, which is pretty difficult.

They also do not stick well on cloth shoe-lining. They stick pretty well on non-cloth and they are easily removed. They may leave imprint of the gel pattern at the bottom though.

So my doctor recommended these. I will be honest I could not get past the price. Funny thing is I tried others and for the what now is the small price after spending $ trying others I should have bought these from the get go.

I haven’t really been wearing any other shoes but the Vionic’s my doctor recommended. I was however tired of wearing them the same old she’s. I bought two of the shoe inserts. I have used them in various shoes and in tennis shoes.

They definitely work wonders. I have not had any pain from my plantar fasciitis. I notice the biggest difference when I work out. I can go all day long now with out the pain. My only down to these as with other reviews is how to keep them is the same spot when you put your shows on and taking your shoes off I have to place them back in place.

They also shift a little when you are wearing them and have to take my shoes off to adjust.

These gel inserts have lessened my heel pain considerably. I hope you will consider making one out of this same material that cushions the. entire sole. Thank you for this amazing product!

These gel cup heel cushions are fabulous! I am an avid walker and they make my daily treks so much more enjoyable and comfortable.

This is the first product I have tried that has given me total relief of my foot discomfort symptoms. This insole has just the proper amount cushioning, arch support, heel support, and customization options to relieve my chronic foot/toe/arch pain/discomfort.

I have Plantar Fasciitis which includes both arch and heel pain. I have tried a variety of inserts, and so far these are the best. They are certainly not perfect, and they don’t work in all shoes, but they helped my pain significantly.

I did find that they made my shoes tighter, and since they push your heel up a bit, some of my shoes felt like I was “flipping” out of the backs of them. So again, not perfect for everything. However, they provided enough cushion for my heel, and enough support for my arch, to alleviate most of my pain.

I do wear through them relatively fast, which is annoying, but it’s better than not being able to walk at all.

Dr. Scholl’s&® Pain Relief Orthotics for Lower Back Pain is a great product these orthotics provide great support, are very flexible and love that these are cut to fit. The support of these orthotics is color-coded, the yellow is the shock guard at the heal these make me feel a bounce in my step relieving any weight on my heel.

The heel also feels well cushioned that is not to soft or hard. This cushion is securely in place and feels rather flexible, the small inner holes look like little air bubbles looks very appealing and nice quality.

The green part of these orthotics is hard with a thin layer of flexible material on top. The hardness of the orthotics is great this helps with the arch in my foot and gives my arch great support. The blue thin layer is adjustable by cutting the orthotics to your size, I like this option because my sizes do change at times from 9 to 9 1/2.

The thin blue layer is very flexible and is very soft on top. This thin blue layer was very easy to cut and adjust in shoe. I really liked how the orthotics felt in my shoe I felt the arch support was fantastic on bottom and sides of foot and fit in shoe great with above and beyond comfort.

This orthotic looks very well made and all three parts blue, green and yellow are very securely together and pieces align great. I stand for long hours and are constantly walking daily, these orthotics make the tasks more enjoyable.

I like these are not to thick so these provide great breath-ability. I am less tired at the end of the day and feel in great spirits wearing these orthotics. I would definitely recommend these orthotics to others.

As other reviews have said, the fabric and less padding does allow your heel to slip out. Knowing this in advance, I still bought the product and doubled up the pads by super gluing one on top of the other, then super gluing the double pad onto the back of my shoe.

ONLY IN THIS FORM did the heel pads do the job of minimizing but not preventing, my heel slipping out.

These are very comfortable and prevented more blisters from my new shoes. Only thing that could be better is a little more cushioning.

Too many times you get a good cushion, but the adhesive is weak. These stick very well and don’t “slide”. Make sure you put it in the correct position the FIRST time though!

I play basketball a couple times a week for exercise, used to play more. I have flat feet and have struggled with achilles injuries for a while. Ankle braces have helped prevent injuries to my achilles but restrict mobility and add strain on my knees.

These heel supports definitely function as promised offering a nice cushion for my heels. However, they don’t stop there, I put a pair in my house slippers, and I noticed that while walking around the house in them, ( without socks) the hard skin on my heels, ( which could usually give a elephant a run for its money) remained soft for days after I had a pedicure.

So I then put a little foot cream in the heel-cups, and it has made a really nice difference. The skin on my heels is staying so soft and smooth. So I am really delighted with them.

i have plantar Fasciitis that affects both feet. Before this happened I was walking 3-4 miles a day. That went down to 3-4 blocks. The heel pain was pretty bad. Because of the Tuli’s Heel cup I am on the road to recovery.

I have been wearing the So Soft heel cups since they arrived, and find them to be very effective in controlling heel pain. They also appear to be helping my knee pain, so they are a hit! They are easy to move from one pair of shoes, to another, but a bit of an annoyance to have to do so, so I am going to order more of the cups, in different styles, just for my convenience.

The so soft do fit all the shoes I have had them in, and hopefully the others I order will also.

I buy several different insoles because I find the match between shoe/boot and insole is different. This one has really good arch support, and is a bit narrower than some so it does not need as much trimming.

It’s also a bit narrower in the heel area than the PowerStep Pinnacle Maxx, again that’s good for some shoes/boots. I’m happy with it as are my feet with significant plantar fasciitis.

These insoles are terrific. I was advised by a shoe specialist to compare these insoles with another pair to see how the insole fits my particular arch. That was very good advice as I found that these Form arch supports feel better on my feet than the other brand I had been using for years.

I use them in my running shoes and bought another pair for my walking shoes. They mold to your feet over time or you can heat them to mold them. Form apparently has several styles and these are the high profile style.

It is very sturdy and looks like it will last for years. I expect to use them in my hiking boots also as winter approaches and/or I go for a hike. This style takes up a lot of room in the shoe so it would probably not work well for a casual shoe or a smaller sized shoe.

I have ordered another pair that are called Ultra-Thin in order to use them in a new pair of sandals which need a bit of support and I hope they will work well with my shoes that don’t accommodate these blue Forms.

I highly recommend them. I have suffered with foot pain for years and these work really well and I no longer have foot pain after I run or walk several miles.

Works well with Altra sneakers. Heel cup helps with pronation, arch support is good for high arch but reasonable height, and front of insole is well padded.

I’ve had bad feet (and back) for years and have been suffering a lot lately. I finally decided that something had to be done. After doing a bit of research, I learned that people with flat feet need to consider an insole with arch support.

From my own experience, I’ve also learned that cotton socks and insoles with a rough surface are a problem in the making. With these things in mind, I thought that Dr. Scholl’s Heavy Duty Support insoles might be what I was looking for.

Upon receiving them, I looked them over and was impressed by the quality. I especially liked the smooth (low friction) top surface. The inserts installed without cutting in my size 13 shoes with no slippage whatsoever.

In walking around I felt immediate relief. I was initially concerned that the arch support might be uncomfortable, but that was not the case. FWIW, I took care of a squeaking problem by removing the inserts and sprinkling baby powder in the shoes and on the underside of the inserts.

This has proven to be one of my better purchases and I’m now a Dr. Scholl’s fan. Do yourself a favor and try them out.

I bought these to put inside flat boots for longer wear. You’re supposed to remove the shoe’s existing insole before putting these in, so that was my first mistake – the boots I wanted to use these for don’t have removable insoles.

Once I finally got these inside the boot, it took up so much space that my foot could barely squeeze in, and the boot was then too tight and uncomfortable to wear. I can’t return the product because in order to fit it into my boot, I had to trim the excess off the front.

Hoping maybe I’ll find another pair of shoes to put these in, but disappointed to be out $15. Make sure you’re putting these into shoes with removable insoles before buying.

First off about me…I have medium/high arches and under-pronate (supination). I need an orthotic with a deep heel cup and medium arch support. I’m also 5’6” and 156lbs. I wanted the knee pain ones but this is the closest they had in the store.

It may have felt better if I were heavier but I don’t think so. These cause me to supinate (walking on the outside of foot) more than the ones that came in my shoes. There’s very little padding in the ball of foot and toe area.

This made me feel like I was wearing a low heel dress shoe. Again that might not feel that way for people that are heavier but I don’t see how that could make that much difference with almost no padding on front.

They seemed to fit in my shoe okay, maybe a little wide at the arch but not too bad. They cut down easily with sharp scissors like the rest of them. Overall these won’t work for me. Thankfully Dr. Scholls had a money back guarantee and seem to be made well.

That’s the reason for the 3 stars vs 1. These may work for some people, just not me. Now to try again. This is the 8th pair of insoles/orthotics I’ve tried.

Exactly what I was looking for. I don’t like when my socks pop out over my low-top shoes so I often wear the shorter no-show socks – I have been getting plenty of blisters as a result of it – these heel pads provide just enough padding a cushioning to eliminate that issue.

They are very subtle, as well. The adhesive covers the entire strip so it for sure stays in place.

Disappointing far too thin to be of benefit in making shoes a more comfortable fit. Attempted to stick the two inserts together – not successful.

These are my husband’s. I have used them before in my size of course. It’s best to replace your athletic shoes every 6 months to a year depending on how much stress you put on your feet. He puts a lot.

We all know how expensive shoes are, so these inserts buy you a little time and they feel really good on your feet. Some of them can get pretty expensive and some are just worthless. My husband always thought me to shoot for the middle.

Don’t get the most expensive and definitely not the cheapest, always read the reviews before you purchase and you’ll be doing alright. Words from a wise man. We found these at Walmart for about $18. I would recommend them.

I work in a hospital and am always walking and running around. Gained 20lb early in pandemic and my feet were killing me. I could barely walk. I lost the weight, but my feet just wouldn’t recover after months.

I got these and I can finally walk again. Pro tip. Buy shoes with a wider sole than usual and you won’t have to remove the original insole to add these in. I usually get a wide sole, but when I put these on top of the original insole, they were too tight across the top, and it caused tendon pain in my great toe that was almost as bad as the plantar fasciitis.

Upsizing to an extra wide allowed me to preserve the good cushion of the original insole, but get the therapeutic shape of the Dr Scholl’s insert.

I thought because it was labeled, plantar faciitis it would help with my plantar faciitis. NOPE. I put these in my shoes and my feet hurt worse. In my opinion, these are no better than any other shoe insert.

So, why spend extra money just because the label has plantar faciitis in the title. I bought a pair of Hoka One shoes and they allowed me to walk without pain but they only lasted about a year until I was feeling pain again.

I don’t want to spend $150 buck every year but at the same time I can’t take the pain. I was hoping these inserts would allow me to walk without the pain, like when using the Hoka shoes but NOPE. Make an insert that does that and I’ll buy it.

I’m not trying to sell a particular pair of shoes nor am I sponsored by anyone. Moreover, I don’t even recommend buying the shoes brand that I mentioned. I’m just saying I used them and they worked for a little while.

I used these inserts and they didn’t work at all. Additionally, I have an old pair of combat boots with just worksole inserts and they actually make my feet feel better, somewhat, at least somewhat. I also lost 40lbs and that didn’t help my feet either.

And I’m not that overweight. Currently, I can’t even walk around in my Hoka One shoes for more than 20 minutes without my feet screaming. I need a solution and these inserts are not it. You can judge for yourself but they didn’t work for me.

Rarely do I find a product that really does what it claims, but this is definitely one of the few that actually does what it claims. My son is an avid sports addict , but sometimes finds that running and a number of other high impact exercises, cause him pain in his leg.

Do not just cut and assume they will fit shoes with the size lines on the insoles! Instead try taking laces off and putting them in and gradually trimming the front until perfect flush fit. Shoe size varies by brand so do it this way for a flush, perfect, unmoving insole.

Arch support is only medium (better then usual insoles but not high). I can run with them in my tennis shoes fine.

This was my own fault- but while preparing for a Colorado hiking trip I thought it would be a good idea to get some insoles to hike with for extra support and comfort. Boy was I wrong. I had the worst, most massive blisters on my feet I’ve ever had from these things.

Everyone else in my group who didn’t wear any kind of special insoles were totally fine. I will never use these again.

Excellent and invisible arch support. Can be placed in the part of the shoe where my foot needs the extra support. Two-sided tape on the inserts so they stay in place. The gel is soft and very comfy.

I love my flat and low-heeled shoes, but they don’t typically have enough arch support for me. I’ve put them in 3 pairs of shoes so far. I bought my first Gel Activ Everyday Heels inserts on spec and I’m buying more so that I can put them in all my shoes.

On whose feet did you base your ‘Fits sized 5-10’ on??!!! I am an 8. 5 and was in desperate need of clear insoles for a pair of sandals and got these. They were the teeny tiniest things I have ever seen and would only be suitable for a child’s shoes.

They looked too small to even fit a woman’s size 5 never mind an 8, 9 or 10. I am out $8 and very upset!.

I have severe arthritis in my ankles thats caused alot of lower joints and bones to ache compensating. I work as a hair dresser and these were lovely on the heels inside my shoes all day during a shift.

An absolute life saver for those who aren’t the everyday “high heel wearer”. I was recommended these ball pads for some strapping heels I was wearing as a bridesmaid in my sisters wedding. These Dr Scholls small heel inserts are great to help snug up some shoes I have been wanting to wear. I bought some heels that felt comfortable the first ten minutes then killed me heels after that. I like theses because the add a better fit that prevents my heels from scraping and keeps them from slipping out of my shoe for the most part.

Dr. Scholl’s Heel Liners Variety 3 Pack have made my shoes so comfortable. There are three different colors in the variety pack. Clear, beige and black. They are so easy to use. Clean the inside of your shoes where you experience rubbing or blisters, peel off the liner and stick them into your shoe.

They also help to stop your shoes from slipping off if they are slightly stretched. These heel liners have made a huge difference for me. I would get blisters on the backs of my heels from my shoes being a little too tight and rigid because they are new.

I’ve since started using Dr. Scholl’s heel liners and i no longer get blisters. They are cushioned and soft and my feet are happy now. The different colors are great for different colors of shoes and make them less noticeable.

I also placed a pair of heel liners into my tennis shoes and they are snug to my foot once more. I can’t get over how comfortable they are. Even if you don’t get blisters from your shoes you should still get some of these heel liners.

They make your shoes fit better and more comfortable to wear. Your feet will thank you for them.

I purchased these this morning before going to my job where I am on my feet for 8 hours, minus 45 mins of breaks. I have always struggled with foot pain no matter what shoes I wore and dread having to work shifts more than a few hours.

These inserts are a LIFE SAVER! I’m happy to report that after over 8 hours of time wearing these today I have absolutely no pain in my feet whatsoever. They are at a decent price point, so you can purchase multiple pairs to have and alternate between shoes.

I’d like to say I like these because after wearing them for a few days I started to feel a difference in the way I felt after a long day of standing at work. However, I soon started to notice a foul odor coming from my shoes.

I thought at first I didn’t wash my jeans right but soon found that the insoles had caused my shoes to just start smelling (and it wasn’t because I was sweating). It was extremely embarrassing and smelt horrible and I don’t understand why no one talks about this.

Comfort, pain relief, I’m thinking these are the perfect insoles for me! I was also attracted to the color. The first time I used these, I had to cut my usual walk short, as they actually seemed to CAUSE PAIN in my feet.

MUCH worse than my usual achy feet. Both of my feet were REALLY sore in the middle/arch area, and my left foot was getting a shooting pain on the side that I have never experienced before. I took them off when I got home and was fine the rest of the day.

Against my better judgement, I tried them again the next day in a different shoe, thinking I just need to “get used to them. ” Boy, was I wrong. again I had to cut my walk short because my feet were KILLING me, and significantly increased back pain! This time, when I took them off, the pain did not go away.

My feet and back hurt the entire rest of the day. On day three, I did NOT try them again, but instead returned them. The front and back (toe and heel) sections of the insole are soft and cushy to the touch, but the center (arch) part of it is made out of a hard plastic, and I am assuming this is the culprit for the pain.

I need a semi dressy shoe for work. I have bunions. The cut of this shoe was perfect for my feet. Very comfortable, fit well.

I noticed the past couple of months that the back of my heels into my archilles tendon would be in so much pain every single morning when I first get up out of bed and then again at night after a long day of working (as a waitress) or just from walking around for a long time.

Scholl’s Kiosk allowed me to discover that I have low foot arches which make me susceptible to plantar fasciitis as I put more pressure on my heels. I ended up buying these from Walmart two days ago for about $13 and they are super life-changing! I put these in my house shoes and wear them all hours of the day when I am not in bed.

They fit nice and snug in my shoe (I am a Women’s Size 10). They’re incredibly soft. And most importantly I noticed after one day of wearing them that I no longer felt pain after walking for a long time and when I woke up this morning, the first steps around my room lacked the usual pain! I really love the Dr. Scholl’s Heel cushions! They were easy to insert in my shoe. I wear a woman’s 10 so my size was a the top of the heel cushion size. I was concerned it might slip around in my shoe but i was wrong.

The gel side was down which made it stay in place. I am really sensitive about my feet. I don’t know feeling anything weird in my shoes. For example if my socks slip and i scrunch my toes up it drives me insane having that feeling on my feet.

Also sometime the lining of the sole peels up and i can feel that i have to get new shoes. I could not feel the Dr. Scholl’s heel cushions. Which is an awesome thing. They were so comfortable it felt like they were made into the shoe.

I love these heel cushion inserts. I had some like this, years ago, and they had a sticky bottom, so they would stick in your shoe. It was terrible because it left a sticky residue on the inside of your shoe, and overtime would stop sticking completely.

These inserts have this wavy pattern on the bottom of them, to keep them from moving around in your shoe, but the nice thing about it not sticking, is you can move it from shoe to shoe. I tend to walk very heavy on my heels, I don’t know why, but after time my ankles and heels start to hurt.

These inserts are great because they add an extra cushion. I think these would be great on a vacation where a lot of walking is done too, like going to a theme park like Disney World.

These heel cushions are shallow, so my shoes still rub the back of my feet, which defeats the purpose of why they were bought, they also have no adhesive to stick to the shoes so they move around just making them overall uncomfortable, non-functional and a waste of money.

I do not recommend these heel cushions.
