Shoes are an important part of any wardrobe, and they can be especially important for women who want to maintain a polished look. There are many different types of shoes available on the market, but not all of them are meant for walking.
Women’s walking shoes are designed to provide comfort and support while you are on your feet, and they can be a great option for those who want to stay active. Walking shoes usually have a thicker sole than other types of shoes, and they often have a cushioned insole to provide additional support.
When you are choosing walking shoes, it is important to consider the type of activity you will be doing and the amount of support you need. You can find walking shoes that are specifically designed for different activities, such as running, hiking, or even just walking around the block.
No matter what your needs are, there is a pair of walking shoes out there that can help you stay comfortable and supported.

Brooks have been great to me over the years, but as I’m getting older and sadly health declining they don’t seem to feel as they used to. Plantar faciitis has affected my left heel only, not my right though so now I’m noticing something different about Brooks fitment.
Almost as if they are designing them tighter in the heel on then sides. I typically wear a men’s size 9. 5 US medium (D), but the next width up from Medium seems to be impossible to come buy when I go to order new shoes.
I’ve tried Glycerins, Addiction, and now Addiction Walkers, etc, all feel tighter on the sides of the heels than they did in previous editions. Everywhere else in the shoe feels fine, just pinching tight on the heel sides.
Regretfully it might be time for me to move to a new brand. Unless the next width up from Medium (D) becomes more readily available for me to find in a shoe I am willing to drop $160 on.
I have been purchasing the Addiction Walker for 15 yrs. and never had a problem with them. until my last pair. In fact, they are my ‘every day’ shoes (shopping, walking, cooking, etc. ) I even have all 3 colors in this shoe.
I usually buy a pair every 10 months. Last Fall 2021, I purchased a pair of Black Addiction Walker V-strap, but did not start to wear them until February 2022. Since they were made of leather, I felt that they just needed to be “worn in” After three months wearing these shoes, they are still hurting my foot.
I am 78 yrs. old and surely my foot has not grown. I believe that Brooks has changed their manufacturer in cutting this shoe. I always took a size 9. 5 M and I probably need a size 10 M on this shoe now.
Unfortunately, I do not have the Brooks shoe box nor receipt to exchange these shoes for another pair.
The Addiction Walker Suede is the most comfortable shoe I have ever owned! I have debilitating foot pain when I am barefoot or dressed in anything else. I am very overweight and stand long hours for work.
I have worn the Addiction Walker Suede every day for 10 months, washed them once (only because I started wearing them without socks and they got smelly), but they still are I holding up beautifully, look nice, and are comfortable and supportive despite the extra abuse I put them through.
I usually tend to over-pronate in shoes. Even after 10 months of daily use, there is very minimal to ever-so-slight pronation in the Addiction Walker Suede. I don’t make a lot of money, but I would still buy this shoe even if it cost several times it’s listed price.
I also own the leather Addiction Walker I that I use for my side jobs as usher for a NHL and a MLB team. This version of the shoe is also incredibly supportive and comfortable (but not as comfy as the suede).
It is finally starting to wear down after 3 years of use in extreme weather and standing on concrete for hours at a time. I just purchased the Addiction Walker II yesterday and eagerly awaiting its arrival.
I am crossing my fingers and hoping it is as comfortable as the suede version. PLEASE MAKE MORE COLORS AVAILABLE IN THE SUEDE 2E WIDTH! I would purchase them all. I tried buying the men’s version of this shoe but you didn’t have my equivalent size in men’s in 2E width (women’s size 9/men’s 7.
5). It was too narrow. I kept it and I hope it stretches in time.

Rediscover the joy of walking in this slip-on sneaker from Skechers. Enhanced by a 5GEN midsole design and a Goga Max insole for next generation cushioning and support, this shoe provides comfort and cushioning with every step.
The stylish design offers an on-trend feel that will go with leisurewear and casuals alike, making it an everyday option you’ll turn to again and again.
The shoes are great, made extremely well & long lasting. I have been wearing these shoes for 20 years, for travel & casual wear, good support & comfort for standing many hours whilst cooking & baking.
The go walks have always been true to size, however this pair is too wide & made bigger than previously. I ordered them on line, sent an e mail 2 days ago about returning them and have not heard back.
I called the local store in the West Edmonton Mall – on line orders can no longer be returned & the size 5. 5 is not in store & no longer on line. I appreciate that times are tough now during the pandemic & would appreciate more helpful customer service to resolve this issue.
This is the fourth time I’ve purchased these shoes. I have terrible feet. They’re wide and flat with a bunion on one foot and metatarsal pain in the other. Buying shoes is torture. I reluctantly tried them on in the store one day assuming that because of the medium width they wouldn’t fit but I was pleasantly surprised by how roomy they are.
They’re not too wide but the fabric has just enough give that they comfortably accommodate my wide feet without putting any pressure on the pain points. And, the structure of the shoe along with the memory foam inserts shifts the weight to my heel instead of the ball of the foot so I don’t get any of the metatarsal pain.
I wear them everywhere but they’re especially comfortable to wear at concerts where I’m usually standing (and dancing) for hours at a time. And they’re cute! My teenage son even commented that I looked stylish when he first saw them.
I now own three pairs: black, taupe, navy; each purchased separately in the last month. I have wide feet with bunions and they are marvelous. I wish every Skechers had the same last, but alas they do not.
These are pillow-soft, and extra pros are that the flexible fabric accommodates many foot anomalies, and that they are pleasingly light in weight. I would buy additional pairs if more colors were available for a wide foot – which brings me to the Cons.
It is a constant disappointment that Skechers offers only a very limited number of colors in Wide, while many others are available in Medium. Also in regard to color, the knit yarn of this shoe has somewhat of an unwelcome shine which draws attention to it’s synthetic origin; likewise the actual shades are a bit “off”: the navy is overly bright and the taupe is an odd tone.
The comfort, however supersedes all – and I recommend and would buy them again if more shades were available in W. In this particular shoe, sizing is agreeably generous.
The Mcleod Wide Fit Womens Walking Shoes are durable and breathable. With padding around the ankle and tongue for support and a high traction rubber outsole for added grip – the shoes are great for walking and hiking.
I ordered 2 boots. 1 expensive, which was what I really wanted, and these, which were just an impulse purchase. These cheaper boots fit much better as they had a more normal width, than does the Storm boots.
The cheaper, MacLeod, boots feel like a cheap boot, and that’s all I expected from them. Ordering was easy and shipment was fast and on time.
A bit short in the length, so I’d say buy a half size or size up, especially if you want to add insoles to your boot. Quality is good, the treads have good depth, and overall look well built.
I wouldn’t rate it great as I developed blisters and felt pain while walking long distances with this shoes. It does have good grip and can be used to walk on snow.

I have an unusual shoe size (5-1/2 wide) and New Balance is my go-to brand because of the availability in wide sizes. A couple years ago I found these very comfortable and supportive walking shoes in the gray color.
I wore them out! When I tried to reorder, I couldn’t find them in my size, so I switched to the dark blue suede. As others have mentioned, that color shoe has a cutout for the ankle that is way too high.
The dark blue ones are very painful at first, and with wear become painful by the end of the day, plus the tongue is short and thinly padded. Gray shoes work for winter and summer. I switched to a Saucony gray shoe which was squeakingly disastrous in quiet places.
I was thrilled to find New Balance again had the gray in my size (6 pairs left), and the next day I ordered a pair when only 2 pairs were left. New Balance makes great shoes, and I’ve never had a squeaky pair.
I wear custom orthotics that work great with NB since the factory insole is removeable, and the type of sole on this shoe is exactly what my podiatrist recommended. I hope NB continues to stock them!.
When I discovered these tennis shoes a decade ago I was able to stop my perpetual search for a good walking shoe. This is the only tennis shoe I have worn since. This purchase was my fifth or sixth over the last decade or so.
I have flat, 12 AA, weak-ankled feet. I was always overly cautious walking because I would twist my ankles so easily. These shoes have a sole that spans the entire width of the shoe providing a broad walking surface.
That broad walking surface has given me the confidence I need to walk freely again and is the main reason I love this shoe. The inserts can be removed and it has the extra shoelace eyelets that allow you different lacing styles.
(The sales associate at the store showed me that trick!) Absolutely true to size when you have your foot size measured correctly in a shoe store. During Covid, the local shoe store I usually go to could not get these in in my size.
Even now, they have not been able to. I found these at New Balance online and they were delivered quickly.
My podiatrist recommended New Balance walking shoes many years ago because I do a lot of walking. He recommended buying two pairs and switching off and on wearing one pair one day and the other pair the next day.
That way I only need to buy shoes once a year. One pair of shoes worn every day wear out in about six months. In six months, the cost could go up again. I finally found the right style after some unsure purchases.
I used to shop in all the local stores that carried New Balance shoes. It was a tremendous trial and very time consuming. I finally found out how to shop online. I always use this style. The color may change depending on what is available.
I think because of the problem with merchandise being stuck on ships at some ports because of the problem with truck drivers either striking or not enough of them, I had to wear my last pair about 1 ½ years.
I love my New Balance shoes and wouldn’t wear anything else. Style 982 V3 are the best and fit so well. My personal tip: When you buy new shoes don’t wear a new pair all day for the first few days or a week so you can break them in gently and your feet won’t hurt.
Step into your strength in this go-to walking shoe with style and performance. Custom engineered mesh and knit upper. Lace-up front with back pull tab. Anatomical Precise-Return insole with extra arch & heel support.
RE-ZORB Responsive Cushioning for impact protection + shock absorption. Cushioned EVA midsole with maximum comfort. Marbled rubber sole for extra traction.
I bought these Ryka Myriad Walking Shoe Sneakers in Black. I have never tried this brand before but I decided to give it a try. I received my black sneakers they fit great have arch support great fit great look and great comfort.
I am 5’7 Tall weight 210lbs and I have a right ankle surgery in which I need a good pair of sneaker for walking and running errands. These sneakers are all that. My feet is standard which I wear sizes 10.
5 and 11Medium. But in these Ryka I choose a size 10 M and the fit is just right for my foot. These sneakers are for walking and the fit is great for that. I am getting all their colors so I can variate my shoes everyday.
I am 59 years old and I just like to do regular walking and doing daily task. I also have knee problems and these sneakers are NOT heavy which is a great plus. These sneakers are just for that.
After not having much good results buying Ryka shoes lately i thought i would try the myriad as they looked cute and comfortable on line. I must say i am pleasantly surprised at the quality and comfort of these shoes.
I’m so glad i took another opportunity to try Ryka shoes. It paid off big time. I will say the shoes fit true to size – i got these in a wide width. I could possibly have gotten a 1/2 size larger but glad i did not as they are fine with thinner socks.
Time will tell if these shoes will hold up to regular wear but so far i am very satisfied overall. I would like to see more of this style in the future. Thanks Ryka!.
I haven’t had a lot of luck with Ryka before but I decided I would give them a try again. I absolutely love these shoes. Exceptionally comfortable right out of the box and I have had a lot of compliments on how nice they look.
Unfortunately some dirty water got on them and I am at a loss on how to clean. Suggestions would be welcomed. I have fairly medium width feet but am developing a bunion on the same foot I broke last year.
Despite these things these shoes feel great. So glad I gave Ryka a second try.
The CHICANE is our incredibly popular, leading trail shoe that fits more feet, out of the box. The innovative, asymmetrical tongue shape of the CHICANE follows the curve of each instep allowing it to adapt to even more foot shapes.
In addition, the gusseted tongue allows the CHICANE to keep out debris. It’s no wonder the CHICANE won the 2011 About. com Reader’s Choice Award for best trail shoe. The CHICANE keeps you on the trail and out of the first aid kit.
Like a glove. Stepping into nature is how many of us recharge. There’s cool, fresh air and bright, beautiful foliage, but it’s not always the casual stroll that gets you there. The CHICANE is the perfect shoe for traveling and light hiking because it’s designed to match the natural curves of your feet – both inside and outside – so you can go wherever the trail takes you while feeling the natural comfort that keeps you on the trail day after day.
Reasons you’ll love the CHICANE: Better Fit -proprietary asymmetric tongue design follows the top-line of the foot for a better, more adjustable fit. Durable – stability and abrasion resistance. Protection from the Elements.
Fully gusseted tongue keeps debris, water and dust out of your shoes. Secure Laces – Kribs Lacing System wraps the webbing around the foot for a sock-like fit. Amazingly Comfortable – anatomical KURUSole midsole chassis with orthotic HeelKradl support.
Breathable – moisture wicking liners. Good Grip – high-grade, rubber cupsole. Outsole construction offers large lugs for excellent traction and long life (non-marking). Nature’s Cushioning – orthotic.
HeelKradl’ in footbed cups your heel as nature intended. Designed & Developed in the USA.
I bought the Chicane size 8 one month ago. I had called the company before ordering to ask about the high arch as I read that you have to break them in as the arch might be uncomfortable. My feet are very sensitive to any high arched shoe, but I took a chance.
I can say that these shoes did not bother my arch at all, and I do not feel that they have a high arch if anyone is concerned about that. Prior to the purchase, I have had heal soreness I suspect from outside barn/yard shoes I regularly wear with no support.
I went ahead and wore these shoe in my house during the day for the past several weeks. I do not feel like I had to break them in. However, I cannot say that they helped my feet at all. In fact my Skecher D’Lites with memory foam work better on my feet than the Kuru Chicane.
I was hoping that these would make my feet feel better but for me they do not offer any extra support than regular Skecher shoes. I decided to keep the shoes but would not buy them again. I have since bought another pair of Skecher D’Lites.
The shoe fits true to size with all of my other tennis/workout shoes. I stated that the width was true to size as I am medium/regular width and they did not feel like wide shoes. However they are more open in the foot, and I prefer a more snug fit.
I bought these for walking the dog after blowing out my arch walking in snow boots all winter. No other hiking shoes were comfortable. I have problems with plantar fasciitis and my fifth metatarsal. These shoes feel supportive and definitely help with plantar fasciitis.
The metatarsal is another story, and these don’t help with that at all. I have to be careful to land my foot straight forward or slightly inward to avoid pain there. The ice blue color and the sparkles make these look juvenile, but since I got them for walking the dog I don’t care.
It was hard to wait for the break-in period, but I could tell they were squishy and needed time to adapt to my foot. plenty of width. I like the sideways lacing – seems to take pressure off the outside of the foot.
Since about 6 months ago, I was desperate to find a shoe that, at the end of the day, my feet weren’t killing me. I tried multiple high-end shoes, each promising “happy-feel-good” feet, but to no avail! I friend suggested Kuru’s, saying she now owns 4 pair, and she’ll never own any other shoe-brand again.
So I started with woman’s Quantum size 8 wide. I’ve got arthritis in both feet, multiple hammer toes, diabetes. Once they arrived, onto my feet they went, and OMG!!! NO PAIN at end of my day!!!! Having suffered foot pain for so long, then suddenly NONE, my feet felt as if they’d gone to heaven (well, almost!).
I now own 3 pairs of Kuru’s, and my husband has purchased a pair of men’s Quantum wide, and he swears these are the best shoes he’s ever worn, too! Thank you to the creators of these fantastic shoes!!!!.

It is very hard to find a nice looking athletic shoe that has a FIRM sole and a rollbar. I have numerous foot problems — achilles tendonitis, plantar fasciitis, peroneal tendonitis, arthritis — and I am still young-ish.
But my podiatrist said to get these shoes because they have a firm sole which will take pressure off my joints and tendons and that is exactly what’s happened. I am already feeling relief and can walk again without crippling pain.
New Balance, PLEASE do not change the firm sole on this shoe! It has just the right amount of cushioning and firmness. I’ve heard rumors that a new version will be coming out with a “more flexible” sole.
PLEASE DO NOT DO THAT! Flexibility is NOT what people buy this shoe for — it’s the opposite of what we need. You’ve got a million other styles with flexibility. Leave this one alone! (Do however, make the tongue longer and wider.
A shoe that is almost perfect but some major flaws make it unwearable. TONGUE IS TOO SHORT. Drastically short. So much that if you use the top eyelets the tongue slides UNDER the laces, making the top eyelets unusable.
The sole is very supportive, exactly what I needed. So I’m really disappointed that this truncated tongue make the shoes impossible for me to wear. I have lots of foot issues, plantar fasciitis, achilles tendonitis/bursitis/spur, and the rollbar support these provide would have been just right for me.
Another thing to note is they are shaped narrow and short. If you have a long, narrow foot they will work. I have a narrow heel but a wide forefoot. I had to order a Wide width and a full size larger than normal because they were too short and tight.
If these were made on the SL1 last with a longer tongue I could wear them. But they’re made on the SL2 which is more the shape of a slender rectangle than an oval (my foot shape). I’ll have to keep looking for another motion control shoe with a properly sized tongue.
Give ultimate comfort to your feet with the Activate sneaker from Ryka. Rendered in premium mesh fabric, this sneaker has padded collar and anatomical insole with Re-Zorb responsive cushioning for better support.
Its lightweight molded EVA midsole with Re-Zorb Lite wedge features air channels to deliver absolute shock absorption.
I am a walker, not a runner, not a stroller. I walk. Not really speed walk but probably not far from. My ASICS are usually fine but I wanted something with a little more cushioning and support. These Rykas are great and honestly you can feel the extra spring they provide in your step.
I can do just over a 16 minute/mile pace for 2+ miles with more ease, and was able to go under 16 min/mile a few times. And I live in WV so that’s up and down hills. If it was flat, I could do 15-min/mile easy in these.
I will say that I bought the 8. 5 and I probably should have gone with the 9. I’m either of those sizes depending on the shoe. So if you’re kinda between, go with the size up. I hate when shoes are too long because my heel tends to swim in them.
But these at the size up wouldn’t have that problem. That being said, the 8. 5 are only a wee bit short. Bottom line is that if you are a walker for exercise, you will love these. They will B absolutely make a difference in your step.
I have a hard time finding sneakers for wide feet that are true to size and comfortable, until now! After trying almost every brand possible, I bit the bullet and spent a little more than usual on this purchase.
I now see why! You pay for what you get! And these sneakers are totally worth it if you’re looking for comfort, light weight and super cute and vibrant. I got the yellow highlighter looking color (they say it’s neon green I believe) but it’s more highlighter yellow to me.
I bought these excited to get a Ryka walking shoe. I wasn’t sure of size, so went by size guide. It took forever to get these and when I finally did, I was thrilled…until I put them on. They were small, still, tight.
I was so disappointed because I had a previous pair of Vera sneakers that I absolutely LOVED. Because it to so long to get these, I’ll probably just try to sell them myself and stick with my Brooks for walking.
Get quicker shipping and maybe revisit your size chart and I might consider trying your product again.
These sneakers were made for walking! You’re going to love these new women’s Avia slip-on walking shoes both for their fashion forward design and their super comfortable feel. The mesh upper has contrast accents, with an elastic collar and adjustable zig-zag strap ensure easy-on/easy-off and a secure fit.
I was surprised on how well made these are! And the color is beautiful! Super easy to slip on but the fit is amazing! And the soles are heaven! Typically I don’t think I would’ve naturally gravitated towards these! I also have 2 teenage daughters…… ironically they also love these & prefer them over their name brand shoes I just purchased! Go figure right?! Lol! These are definitely comfortable, stylish & are very well made! Definitely look just as good if not better than any name brand we’ve bought in a few years!.
I received this a couple weeks ago and have worn them a few times. They seem fine but I would not use them as my regular shoes. I could see them being fine for working outside maybe. My biggest complaint is how heavy they are.
It’s like wearing weights on my feet. The comfort level is pretty standard for a shoe like this. They don’t come close to the comfort of skechers but they aren’t the worst feeling shoes either. If you just need something quick and cheap then these should work fine.
I really enjoyed trying out the easy walk shoes. On of the things I liked most about them was how easy they were to put on. I liked that they did t have any laces. As much as I love laced shoes it’s nice to not have to deal with it once in a while.
I also enjoyed how co for table the sneakers get on my feet. My feet truly felt well supported. They look and feel like a quality shoes. I feel like they will last me a long time.
Designed by a podiatrist, these are the walking sport shoes that help to combat the effects of plantar fasciitis with a stabilizing orthotic footbed that realigns your feet to a neutral position. The built-in orthotic footbeds are made from shock-absorbing EVA, and provide contoured arch support for those who over-pronate–when the heel bone angles inward–a determining factor in the development of plantar fasciitis.
The shoes have full-grain leather and mesh uppers, strong heel counters, TRP midfoot stabilizers, and resilient rubber outsoles. The orthotic footbeds provide optimal comfort and support when the shoes are worn for at least a few hours per day over the course of two weeks.
Women’s. White with blue trim, White with pink trim, or solid Black. Whole and half sizes. Please order one-half size down. (1 1/4 lbs. ).
OMG! I have never had a better online shoe purchase experience. I’ve tried several times to purchase shoes online and it’s been a huge drag. With these shoes, they were a fit right out of the box. I really loved how they didn’t dig into my ankle, as they were low cut enough.
Also where the tongue meets the top of my foot, it was not restrictive nor uncomfortable in the least. I sized up. 5. Normally I wear between an eight and 8 1/2 and I purchased an 8 1/2. The shoes are incredibly comfortable.
I do not have plantar fasciitis, but I often feel sore at the end of my shifts. I stand on my feet a lot as a chef. My lower back usually hurts by hour number five. Not with these-I am not tired and my back doesn’t hurt.
They give plenty of support and they actually look attractive! I bought the white shoes with the blue trim. I super highly recommend them for those people who stand on their feet for long periods of time.
I use these shoes for walking. Not on a flat surface, but on a county road that goes up and down. Also for a every day shoe. I ordered a 1/2 size down as instructed and wish I had kept the whole size instead.
I find that the end of my toe sometimes hits the end of my shoe when going down hill. The foot box is really spacy so my feet slide around a bit. But overall, I like the style and tread, doesn’t gather a lot of gravel in the tread.
I do have a pronation developed within a year. No shoes work. No sandals work. So I decided to give a try to my shoes I purchase at Hamnacher Schlemmer. Yesterday I went ( for the first time in a year) to the Gym and I walked 2 miles and.
NO PAIN ! All the contrary ! i walked, my back or my hip did not hurt and my pronation was directed to the right position ! I love my shoes ! Thanks !.
These shoes will make you stand for a long time without feeling tired.

I had purchased a pair of Ryka years ago and they fit like a glove and provided so much support. I was so excited when these arrived. After wearing these several weeks my right foot started to bother me.
I took out the insoles and was shocked at the thin layer of foam. There’s no support at all in these shoes. What a huge disappointment. :(.
I’m a repeat customer of Ryka because they are the only shoe that reduces my arch pain. In spite of keeping my toenails trimmed and wearing socks, my toe is always popping through the mesh. This time, I only had the shoes for two weeks when it happened again on both shoes.
Great shoes. Fit for a women’s foot , the heel is a little narrower than a men’s. Padded well , after working on my feet all day , my feet don’t hurt. And made well , this is my second pair , the other pair still looks great , just over time it was time for better support.
The women’s 840v2 walking shoe is designed as a versatile sneaker that can handle various walking speeds and surfaces. Featuring ABZORB cushioning to help absorb forceful impacts and a durable rubber outsole, this women’s walking shoe gives you the protection and comfort you need to walk every day.
The 840v2 also features a leather upper for a secure, yet flexible, fit. Also, NDurance rubber compound for extra durability in high wear areas.
I like these 840 shoes, they are a great casual shoe, and black goes with any outfit. i wanted all-black They’re my “daily driver”. I also find them to be very cushioning–I feel like I could run in them.
They seem to be a neutral shoe (don’t lean toward pronators or supinators). I need a wide toebox and these shoes provide that. Also I have a narrow heel; sometimes wide shoes have too wide of heels for me.
but these 840’s seem to grip my heel just fine. Overall, I’ve had success with multiple New Balance shoes — because I always look for their models that are 1) running shoes; 2) cushioning; 3) neutral; 4) wide-width.
The only company that provides better toebox is Altra, but their cushioning is inferior to New Balance and might lead to knee deterioration. I did notice that my feet get hot on some days. perhaps because the 840 shoes are solid material instead of the 680’s netting.
The solid material protects against ticks; but the New Balance shoes with some netting in the toes are less hot.
The New Balance MW840 WT2 (White 2) appears to actually be identical to the MW840 V2 shoe. I have read reviews of the Version 2 of this show where people complained about the smaller toe box than the original version, so I always steered clear of buying the Version 2.
I have a pair of the original Version 1 of this show with very roomy toe box. I ordered this MW840 WT2 thinking that it was an alternative white color to the plain MW840 WT. So I was a bit concerned when I received the shoes and realized they had the smaller toe box of the Version 2.
Luckily, after wearing the shoes for several days, they turned out to be a very good fit for me. The to box is narrower than the Version 1, but I think it is just as high, so my toes don’t rub against the inner top of the shoe, and the toe box width seems to be just right for me.
So if you have worn the Version 1 of this shoe and found it to be comfortable, it will depend on your individual foot whether or not the smaller toe box in the Version 2 will work for you.
These had much less support than my old original NB 840 Walking Shoe!! In the new 840v2 when I walked the arch portion would sink down so obviously cheaply made there. And the sole is not anything like the original.
It’s thinner. And why is it not white? It’s a very light grey. But it cannot hold a candle to the original 840 no way no how. NB why have you taken such a low road? Going back.

I bought these sneakers for many reasons. First of all, I having a complete knee replacement soon. I needed something I could put on easily for the hospital. Slippers were not an option because I will be doing PT the next day after surgery.
I also bought them because I don’t have white sneakers for Summertime. I prefer a rounded toe and good support because of Plantar Fasciitis. These shoes passed all requirements. I really need a size101/2.
I choose the size 11. I wish there was my size and these would be perfect.
This sneaker was just what I was looking for! I chose my usual size that I wear with my inserts. But when I got them home, I realized that the manufacture’s insole didn’t come out of the shoes. So I just put my arch insert and then my leather insole over that.
But by then, it was too tight. So this would be a wonderful shoe for most people. But if you have inserts you might have a problem. I’m sure I could have ripped the insole out, but I wasn’t comfortable trying that since it was glued in.
I so wanted these to be my shoe. But the heels are loose for me, and the bungee elastics don’t latch down and can’t be used to adjust the fit. I will try Skechers Arch Fit. I need a shoe that will help me with aging, increasingly painful feet in a library job where I’m standing and walking a lot of the day.
I’m also planning a European trip with a lot of walking on cobblestones. I bought these at the end of a big sale on sneakers, so I’m sorry I have to return them and keep trying without the sale!.
Light and breathable these women’s flexible woven walking shoes are just what you’ve been looking for. Available in purple, white or black. Made with polyester weave, these slip-on walking shoes for women let your feet stay cool while you walk! Memory foam insole.
Breathable, woven top. Easy slip-on and super comfortable.
I love everything about them, the fit, the color, the cute purple paw print. I volunteer at a dog rescue and everyone admires them and wants to know where I got them. They are light weight and easy to slip on and off.
These are the best shoes I have encountered. They are light weight but can keep your feet warm on a chilly day. I bought extra once I discovered they maintain all day comfort even walking around disneyland all day!.
These shoes are wonderful and would be comfy if I could get them to fit. The size 8 is too big but I think a 7 would be too small. I’m going to give them to charity; I’m sure someone will make good use of them.
Go further with the GEL-CONTEND SL athletic walking shoe. This shoe offers a supportive fit thanks to an internal heel counter, while rearfoot GEL technology and the AMPLIFOAM midsole help your feet remain cushioned and comfortable.
My old ASICS are about 10 yrs old. With some superglue and new insoles they’ve been warriors all these yrs. My second pair of ASICS really, my first pair are my yard work shoes. Pretty much only wear these at the gym for workouts so they’ve never seen the pavement.
However with age some sole sections are sort of glazed over and they are a little slippery on the hardwood floors, so time to replace. So I turned back to ASICS. Overall I’ve found they offer a somewhat wide toe box area.
My foot is normally a D width but even in ASICS I go for the extra wide to be sure my toes have the space they need due to arthritic big toes. Got 4E and they are not excessively wide in my heel or mid foot, while my toes do not feel cramped like too many normal shoes that never fit me well.
These look a bit narrow in the toe area but they feel ok. Reasonable cushioning and comfortable fit for my cardio workouts. I don’t run due to toes problems but I do a lot of indoor power walking, step, cardio kickboxing and similar.
These shoes seem decent and should last me quite some time. I generally workout about 1 hr per day normally 5-6 days per wk, so not a heavy user. For my needs these are decent. At the half off pricing, it was a great deal.
When the sneakers finally arrived (almost a month) I was hoping they would fit and be comfortable, because I really need sneakers. They are very nice looking, but the toe box is too small. I had to return them.
What I never experienced when I attempted to try them on has never happened before: The laces on the sneakers were laced so tightly that I literally could not get my feet into them to try on. I could not loosen them at all, and unlacing them would have been my only option.
But unlacing each entire sneaker and then re-lacing would be difficult and very time consuming. And I was concerned that if I didn’t lace them up perfectly and then need to return them, they not be accepted for a refund.
I managed to loosen up one sneaker just enough to squeeze my foot in and see that I needed a little more room in the toe area. I hesitate to order a size up with Asics because of the laces situation, but the insole felt nice and cushiony and I wish they would have worked out.
I’ve had these sneakers for a few weeks now and I have to say the 1st day of wearing them, I felt like I was walking on a cloud. They were so comfy! I walk everyday outside usually about 5 Miles and once a week I do 10 miles in one day.
After a few weeks the shoes are not as cushy but I’ve put a lot of miles on these shoes so unfortunately I’m sure I will have to purchase new ones in a couple months. The only problem, which is a problem I have with all shoes, is the width.
Now a lot of people say that they are wide but my feet are really wide at the top. I can never find a pair of sneakers that doesn’t have my foot leaning over the side of the shoe when I’m just standing.
The length of my foot would be between 8 1/2- 9 but bc of the width I always purchase a 10 wide and the foot still hangs over. I tried an 11 and my heal was slipping out. I can’t blame the shoe for this problem.

I bought the same style a while ago in blue and have loved wearing them. They are a good lightweight walking shoe, supportive and comfortable. Unfortunately, when I ordered the same style/size 39 in grey, they were too small.
Also the seam on the inside of one of the shoes was not finished properly making it uncomfortable across the toes. Very disappointed that I had to return them.
I bought these to replace an almost identical pair that have been well used. Unfortunately one of the lace tabs broke the second time I tried them on. They haven’t actual been worn! I will be returning them for a refund.
Very disappointed especially as it is going to cost me to send them back. ? Interestingly on the dispatch note it looks like someone has written Fault?.
Got these for all the walking I do, great value as in sale. So light and we’re amazingly comfortable until I got half way round my walk and they gave me huge blisters on my little toe! When tried on they didn’t rub at all and wasn’t until they had been worn for 30-60 mins that they rubbed and even tried again as thought it was because they were new but same happened again.

My brother bought me a pair of Spira shoes, at least ten years ago, that I have absolutely LOVED, and worn thousands of times, because they are so comfortable. I had hammertoes on my left foot, and these were the ONLY shoes I was able to wear.
Even after foot surgery, my Spira shoes were the only comfortable shoes I own. (My Spiras are so worn out now, that I had a hard time figuring out the brand name of the shoe, because the name inside has almost worn off!) I was sad when I found this website, and realized how much another pair of Spiras cost, as I cannot even get close to being able to afford another pair! So I guess I will just keep gluing the little pieces of the sole back on, that I have so carelessly scuffed off.
and try to take much better care of them!! Unfortunately, my brother is no longer around, so I can’t even sweet talk him into buying me another pair of these awesome shoes! But I still want to say that these are the MOST COMFORTABLE SHOES that I have ever worn!! If you can afford them, do NOT hesitate on ordering a pair for yourselves!! They are worth every penny.
These shoes are great!!! I will definitely buy spiras again. I purchased the ones with 3 springs and wow what a difference for my feet. I am on my feet 10-12 hours a day for work and my feet were killing me at the end and through the night.
Now my feet don’t hurt at all. I’m not sure why my order took longer than was told but customer service was great and handled it in a timely matter. Keep up the great job.
I have been wearing Spira Walking shoes for many years now. I stand and walk 6+ hrs. a day working in a hospital. These shoes are the best for me. Never a painful breakin experience.

These are a perfect combination of the first 2 pairs I bought. These have some solid fabric (suede?) along with mesh on top to keep my feet from overheating. The first ones are solid fabric, which is great when it’s cold or rainy.
The second pair are all mesh (more like an open weave), and are good for warmer weather. So, I need all of them! The pros – a variety of colors, even in narrow widths; enough cushion for my aging feet without causing arch pain; the cost is much more reasonable than what I’ve been paying for years for the only narrow runner I could find.
Cons: the heel doesn’t fit as well as the rest, so if you wear low socks, they often get pulled down as I walk; my impression when looking at the tread is that it will allow me to slip more easily, though I’ve not had experiences to prove it.
I am so happy that I took a chance and purchased these shoes! I wanted a great pair of walking shoes, which allowed me to stand on my feet and support to my arches. These shoes does it all. I can take on San Francisco hills, run to catch a bus and walk throughout the airport without any problems.
The shoes are sturdy with thick soles. They have supported my lower back, knees and ankles. No more rolling ankle from uneven pavement. My toes are not crunched since the toe box is wide. My lower back doesn’t hurt from hard pavement and pounding.
Since my ankles and arches are supported my knees are not compensating for them. I highly recommend these shoes as I have purchased 4 pairs in three years!.
Got them for everyday wear, since I work from home now. I have an older dog who needs frequent walks. Also live in a city and do errands on foot. These are sturdy and give good support but note that I wear prescription orthotics.
Since I ordered the sneakers half a size larger to accommodate the insoles and the fit is a bit snug, they seem somewhat on the small side. They are not light. Another drawback is the new style of lacing-much harder to loosen or tighten.
Have to use a shoehorn because the top opening is a not very wide.
There are many different types of shoes for walking women, and the best type of shoe depends on the individual’s foot type, walking style, and preferences. For some women, a simple walking shoe with good arch support and a cushioned sole may be all that is needed.
Others may prefer a motion control or stability shoe to help control pronation. Some women may need a shoe with a wider toe box to accommodate bunions or hammertoes. And for women who walk long distances or hike on uneven terrain, a trail shoe with a rugged sole may be the best option.
Ultimately, the best walking shoe for any woman is the one that fits her feet well, provides adequate support and cushioning, and is comfortable to walk in.
