20 Best Shocks For Toyota Sienna (2023 Updated)

I chose this brand based on a recommendation of Scotty Kilmer, a mechanic of 53 years and YouTube contributor and his recommendation did not disappoint. My ride had become a little noisy and uncomfortable and these KYB shocks gave me a better ride.

I will be using this KYB brand again for the strut replacements I intend to do soon.

I replaced the original rear shocks on a 1998 Toyota Sienna mini-van with these. Installation was easy. The location and orientation of the shock mounting hardware was such that I did not need to remove the rear wheels.

I did use safety stands and wheel chocks in case the vehicle or parts thereof moved when the shocks were removed. No impact wrench was needed to remove the old shocks. I sprayed the old bolts and nuts with penetrating oil, waited a bit and removed them with regular wrenches and sockets.

Of course, road salt is not commonly used here during the winters of the South, so corrosion is probably less than in areas where it is used. The resulting ride is excellent!.

Put these on my ’68 Country Sedan and they were worse than the 30 year old shocks that came off it. Stay away from this junk, it handles better with no shocks.

I replaced my original 36000 mile struts on my 2014 Tacoma with these struts. I have to say I really love the way my truck rides now, frim but not harsh. I recommend replacing the strut mounts also when replacing the struts.

My daughter-in-law tows a two horse trailer to and from horse shows with her 4×4 Tacoma, 76k mileage. I noticed her OEM rear shocks had blown out so I replaced those and the front shocks with Bilsteins.

I did not want to stiffen the ride too much when she was towing so I used the 4600 series. On her first trip she noticed a much improved stability of truck and trailer and said it had never cruised and stopped feeling so in control; even when new.

I cannot rate installation because I had it done at a dealership.

There were cheaper options, but decided to go with a strut that is known for quality and longevity. Used the Autozone tool loaner program for the spring compressor. Quality tools that they provide free!.

Clearly one of the best choices I have made in a long time!!!! If you are looking for the best ride, look no further. Installed these on my 03 tundra and haven’t looked back since. Premium quality and a superb ride and handling.

Like other reviewers, all I can say is I wish I had of put these on sooner! Especially noticeable difference on washboard dirt roads. 2000 Toyota Tundra

I have had other gas charged shocks that did no live up to my expectations. I have used Koni’s for other applications (which are adjustable shocks) with great results but not what you need if you are looking for off road performance or a hard charging work vehicle with longer travel suspension.

Bilstein’s will always be my first choice and they still live up to their high standard. This set will do more for a better handling and towing experience and have a charge that will actually give you just a bit more lift even when loaded.

Compression is firm but not too firm for the road and rebound is dampened very well.

I consulted with a local off road shop on what shocks to get for my 2008 Nissan Pathfinder. These are the ones they recommended and said they are light years better than the cheap ones. I am really happy with the smooth ride now.

Bilstien has always made great products and my purchase was no different. They were exactly what I expected pertaining to quality and performance.

These did not do what they’re supposed to do. Over 100 psi didn’t even begin to level the car. And at that pressure they did not extend evenly. This was either a defective pair or they just don’t do as advertised.

Other reviews have had similar negative comments.

For towing, I needed air shocks on my standard 2007 Crown Vic. It appears no one offers a product for this model CV. I used Gabriel’s #49205 and with my adapters and a few of the original parts it worked fine.

There were NO instructions or drawings, I had to guess what washers went where. IMPORTANT NOTE: Don’t let the vinyl air tube extend more than 1/8″ beyond the plastic insert when screwing the caps onto the T-Fitting of the air line.

If the air lines stick out deeper into the T-Fitting the shocks WILL NOT inflate.

Overall great kit! The only thing that would be nice is a brass “T” fitting to mount and connect the air lines instead of the plastic. Quick swap. With the adder of new coil springs to replace the original sagging ones, I can have a comfortable ride as well as a stiffer ride when I am hauling my small trailer or have a load of tools in the huge truck of my ’92 Mercury Grand Marquis!.

This is the second set of Bilstein struts I purchased from Auto anything. I put them on my 2000 tundra years ago and loved them so I purchased them for my mom’s 06 tundra. Only one of the struts came with the baggie full of parts you need (bushings, washers, top nut and spring seat) the other did not, which made it very difficult to install both and required some clever reuse of the old strut pieces.

I am disappointed that this happened but have never had any issues with AA before. rides great!.

Replaced shocks on ’06 Tundra 4WD with 91000 miles. Stock shocks were shot on the rear of truck. It is easier just to cut old shocks off as my hardware was rusted. Not much room to navigate between top of frame and bottom of bed.

Improvement in ride and handling are awesome. Should have done it miles ago. I used groove 3 on the front shocks and it leveled truck out with about 1. 5″ rake. Great shocks and Summit ships quickly.

These shocks are great for leveling your vehicle. I installed them on a. 2016 Toyota Tundra and it made the stance of the truck look better. It also improve the ride of the truck. The A** end of the truck used to feel like it wanted to jump in the air when ever you hit a pot hole.

That went away once the truck was leveled. I set the bracket height at the middle setting (7/8 lift). Liked them so much that I plan on ordering another set for my 4Runner.

I put these shocks on the front end of a 2006 Dodge Durango Limited, RWD, 5. 7L Hemi. They came exactly as described and packaged very well. The fact that these came with a boot is outstanding. Everything appered to be of the highest quality and the fit was perfect.

They function well so far and I believe they will be great shocks for a long time. Summit Racing has always impressed me with amazing customer service. I have always received timely, accurate service and that is what sets Summit Racing apart.

Wow. what an amazing difference. I should have done this right away back when I bought it. These shocks took my ’04 Hemi Durango from a mushy bouncy, squirrelly “car” to the truck it should have always been and that I require it to be.

The factory shocks Chrysler chose were now sufficient for a 6,000 pound SUV. The Bilstein 4600 shocks are much firmer and provide the confidence when cornering or hitting bumps. Easy install in this truck, no need to remove tires, just jack the truck to expose upper shock bolts over the tire and work through the wheel well.

Bottom bolts are easy to get to total time, 30 minutes for fronts. Since my truck looks classy I couldn’t put them on looking bright blue and yellow, I had to paint the shocks silver, sorry Bilstein.

I paid for these shocks and when they arrived there were no bushings in the box. I went back to AutoZone and they gave me a set of bushings which were too short. The mechanic I used said that the Bilstein shocks were longer than the original shocks.

The technical support representative at Bilstien said that Toyota would not release the specifications for the bushings to them, but the parts manager at the local Toyota dealership said that the size of the bushings is no secret and that Bilstein could buy them from the same manufacturer that Toyota does.

I finally agreed with the Bilstein technical support representative that the best course of action was to return the used shocks to AutoZone and buy some that come with the bushings. (every other brand comes with the bushings.

) Well Bilstein is losing my business too bad.

Vehicle: 2004 Toyota Tacoma Prerunner Doublecab, V6 Auto, 2wd I received my Bilstein 4600 Series shocks from Summit Racing Equipment in only a couple of days. Excellent and fast shipping. I installed the rear shocks myself, but had a local shop install the front struts as I didn’t have the proper tools.

The ride is 100% better, as there was little to no damping left in the worn out “Tokiko” brand that was replaced. Thank you once again Summit!.

Installed these along with a set of Monroe pre-sprung strut kits on my wife’s 2013 Acadia Denali awd. We had forgotten just how nice this GMC handles and the smoothness of the ride may be a safety hazard cause I’m almost too comfortable.

Seriously though it’s a real pleasure to drive again. Typical bumps and cracks in the road are all but gone. Perfect fit, easy easy easy install.

Replacment shocks for older set of 7 year old bilstein shocks that started to leak oil at seal. not bad since truck has extra leaf springs and always loaded.These shocks work well.

Our 2002 2500HD needed new rear struts, and I installed these in about 45 minutes. The ride was improved. Our boat and trailer weigh-in at 15k lbs. I noticed an improvement in how the truck controls the load after hitting big bumps (like railroad tracks) at highway speeds.

Much less drama — shaking and shimmying.

Fits a Silverado HD Classic perfectly. Easy to install. I recommend you also replace your bump stops while you are replacing your shocks. The ride is improved over the stock shocks. Mine had over 150,000 miles on them.

Definite better ride, better handling, and improved stability while towing.

Improved ride of 2012 Escape. Not as easy to install as I expected. I’m not a mechanic. The interior panels needed to popped off for access to top of shock. I can’t be only idiot that broke a couple of the metal clips that fastens them back on.

Couldn’t find them anywhere. Had to resort to the junk yard.

Bought them to replace one’s I bought from Amazon last year. After test drive. The Monroe shocks are WAY better. Instantly I got a smoother ride. Would highly recommend.

Great replacement shocks for Hyundai. Provides better stability on my Elantra than OEM shock. Couple good YouTube videos out there on how to install. Shopped the internet for this item and Walmart’s price was low and offered FREE two day shipping.

Great replacement compared to stock shocks for my 2012 elantra. Felt rigid initially but works good. Absorbs most of the bumps with ease. Would definitely recommend.

Part was easy to install and a huge difference in ride quality compared to old stocks that had 130,000 miles. Rides as if it’s new again.

I purchased these for my 2014 Toyota Tacoma 4×4 four-door. Installed on the 1. 75 setting turned out perfect without causing the truck to look nose high. The ride quality improved drastically! Very happy with my purchase especially since summit got them to me in one day free shipping.

Great shock system but don’t be fooled into getting new springs. The struts come with an adjustable spring perch to set ride height. I purchased these and set them on the top spring perch setting with my stock springs.

I loved the ride but everyone told me it would be even softer with a taller spring on the lowest setting. I later bought taller springs and pt them on lowest setting, and the ride is the same. Buy these shocks not new springs.

The quality you would expect from bilstein, Obviously not top of the line but great value for the price. Easy install, good instructions and yes they work very well. No its not night and day to the originals but my stock shocks were in great working condition.

At 132,000 miles my Sienna’s shocks were leaking, so time to replace. These were easy to install, (with air wrench) but the upper mount was quite a bit different than the OEM shocks. I believe I installed everything in the proper order, but a small instruction sheet would’ve been nice for verification.

The OEM were half plastic, these are all steel. Not sure if that is better or worse. They seem to be fine, but I also have air bags in my springs because I tow a camper with my Sienna so those obviously firm up the handling.

Overall I like the value of these shocks and it is refreshing to see something made in the U. S. A.

Installed on 2005 Toyota Sienna with 150k miles. Easy to install. Product design was slightly different/better than original. Since the design was slightly different, instructions could have been helpful, but a quick internet search confirmed that they were being installed correctly.

We’ve driven a couple hundred miles so far and the ride is much better.

replaced rear shocks on 2006 Toyota Sienna. The new shocks fit fine. Had to make some decisions about where to put rubber bushings and washers due to the lack of instructions in the package. Ended up reusing some of the old bushings because they were in good shape and the new ones would not fit as well.

Haven’t put many miles on to tell how the shocks will perform.

Ordering form Summit is the only way to go. Fast shipping right to my front door. One of the reasons I went with the Bilsteins is because Toyota is using Bilstein shocks for thier new TRD off road vehicles.

I am thoroughly impressed with these Shocks. I live off a washed out dirt road. After installing a full set of Bilsteins the ride is much smother and less jarring. My back seat passengers used to cringe at the sharp impacts of the smallest bumps, now they say the ride is much better.

I have also noticed a huge improvement in freeeway control at speed. I used to have to slow considerably on Freeway interchanges. Now I can maintain a safe controlled speed and my SUV rides like it is planted to the ground.

I would highly recommend these shocks to anyone with an SUV. You won’t be disappointed. Ease of installation rating is low only because of difficulty. It’s is not a fair assesment of the product. Front shocks with a coil-over spring are best stalled by a shop with the right tools.

A friend and I did thie install in my garage. We have a little experience and a set of coil spring tools. If you don’t know what you are doing, take it to a shop.

Originals had 193k miles so obviously ride is much improved. Bilstein’s are the best and in my case for towing a 17′ bass boat and a small trailer at times they are the perfect fit on my ’02 4Runner.

Replaced oem tokico shocks with these on a 2000 toyota 4runner and the ride has improved exponentially. The cornering has considerable less roll and when hitting bums the truck bounce is minimal. The ride is stiffer then stock but still very comfortable.

Overall a great improvement for the truck.

The best price I found for the best shocks!!! Going on a 01 Silverado I just bought because of the low mileage. Replacing Ranchos. I am not a fan. 3 trucks and all of these will now have these on them! Ride is much smoother on Bilsteins compared to any other shock I tried over 30 years! Will be back for more once I buy another truck! Thank you!.

I replaced my factory Bilsteins on my Tundra with these. My originals lasted for over 150K miles. The ride quality and control with these shocks is excellent, especially on a rough roads. The only downside is the new shocks do not come with new mounting hardware for the upper mounts.

I had to buy a separate aftermarket bushing kits as my original bushings were shot.

My Tundra rides like new again. Toyota uses Bilstein shocks stock and my old rusty ones were still operational after 160000 miles. Wish I replaced them sooner, as the improvement is noticeable.
