They were the best! My Spitzenberg apple has over 22! It was 4 years before using ocean products for getting a good amount of fruit.

I’ve used ocean products since 2013 or 14. Less work, less bugs; bigger.

Soil additive for calcium, etc. No blossom end rot on ‘maters.

I read the reviews of this and didn’t really believe sand could make that big of a difference. I’d always gotten the blue or red calcium type sand from the local pet store. Rex had never really dug in the sand before and I wondered about that.

He is 8 years old now and my kids are older and it’s mostly me caring for him now, so I decided to spoil him with some new sand! I tried a bag of this sand on one side of the tank and the usual blue sand on the other side of the tank, as I didn’t want to shock him and was a little worried about changing things up.

Rex did a good job of mixing them, but seemed to prefer this beach sand. So, the next month I got another bag and just added it to the other sand so it was nice and deep. Oh my goodness, it’s like I have a new crab! His tank is in the hallway and we all heard him during the night, we were like “whoa Rex is having a party in there!” He went on this way for a week and also ate more.

This sand is safe your hermit crabs. However, please do NOT purchase the pretty, colorful calcium sand. The calcium sand, when wet, can get inside of your crabs shell and basically turn to cement. A cheaper alternative to the Hermit Beach sand is to buy the Eco Earth substrate from here, and go to any big box hardware store and buy play sand.

Mix 5 cups of play sand to 1 cup of Eco Earth until its at a minimum of 6in deep in your tank. You’re welcome!!!.

I travel periodically and must have my family take care of my crabs while away. They are not very good about cleaning up old food – thus I struggle with odor and insect infestation issues. For whatever reason (I’m guessing the probiotics) this sand has helped tremendously compared to all other substrates.

Way less odor and NO bugs in the sand since I started mixing this in with standard sand/coconut fiber. Also – I have price checked sand across the internet, and Chewy’s listing of Fluker’s sand is the cheapest pre-disinfected sand I have come across.

Only thing cheaper is industrial sand, but that must be washed first and mixed with calcium etc. , which is a major hassle. Roughly $1/lb versus $1. 50/lb+.

These Wonder Shells are great for shrimp and mystery snails. I see them on the shells often, and know their shells are strong. The shrimp go through molting much easier when they have enough calcium.

I bought this to get my fish healthy again before trying to use antibiotics. Not only are they better, but they’re healthier and happier than ever, I have to clean the tank less and the water quality has dramatically improved.

This stuff is horrible for your crabs any manufactured food is bad for them go onto Etsy get good food and do some Google homework. Get them fresh foods and change what they eat every couple of days.

Make sure to have very deep substrate. And humidity must be upper 70s to 80s. They are not a throw away animal.

I like to feed my hermit crabs a balanced meal of sweet and savory food. They seem to really like this product. They are good eaters.

My crabs love this treat when I serve it to them as a treat. I mix it in with their other foods, like fresh veggies and fruits and they eat it right up. I love the variety that Zoo Med has for Hermit Crab foods and treats!.

Its hermit crab food, man. They didn’t mess it up, there are no ingredients that are harmful to the hermit crabs and they contain most of the essentials. I would still recommend supplementing with other, more natural foods and it is a TAD expensive.

Bought this a few weeks ago when I bought my hermit crab. It’s just one small bit of their diet but they definitely seem to like it!

This is basically the diet for the hermit crabs if you think you been feeding them to much. You give them some of this and it will make them full for the night or so. It’s helps a lot.

Would not recommend for any habitat that requires any significant amount of water or a constant level of humidity. We had it for a month in our tomato frog habitat and it grew a ton of green and white mold all over the inside and we had to throw it out.

Wasted money.

I bought 2 shells for my hermit crabs and did not get what i ordered. 1st off I only got 1 shell. I chose my shells based on the description because i needed specific size openings and the one shell i got was way too big.

I contacted the seller and they did not respond quickly. Once i got a response i was told that one of the shells i ordered was out of stock. I asked for any shells that had the same sizes i ordered and the seller found 2 shells close to the sizes i ordered but slightly smaller but i still accepted them.

They had expected me to pay for shipping for the other shell back and i was a insulted when they acted like they were doing me a favor by paying out of pocket for shipping me the correct size shells.

In the end I got to keep the wrong shell free of charge. The experience was bad but the shells are beautiful.

My hermit crabs had painted shells (I bought them from a pet store not knowing the horrible way they acquire them) and I knew right away to get them new shells. This is the first shell I ordered and the very next day after I put it in their tank, he was in it! It’s a perfect size for him and so much lighter (and safer) for him.

Plus, shipping was fast! Which is awesome because I needed them out of their painted shells ASAP.

We got these a week ago, for the first time ever. We put one in our hermit crab’s cage. We looked a couple hours later and found he had drug it into his hermie hut (which he never does with food, and he isn’t a big crab so must have taken some effort!) He has been munching on it for a few days now, making quick progress.

We have never seen him so into food before. Highly recommend these mineral blocks!!.

My hermit crabs love the mineral blocks. I’m sometimes gone for long weekends, and the mineral block helps a lot to keep my hermits fed and healthy. I don’t even remove it when I get back because they’re still munching on it and sometimes prefer the mineral block over regular food! As long as it stays dry, I don’t mind if they finish it off in a week or two.

They will drag it around and bury it and treat it just like any other food, which it is, so you do need to remove the remainder of it after a few days, especially if it gets water-logged. If you have very small hermits, I’d suggest splitting the block in half or thirds to give them a smaller amount that they are more likely to finish in a week.

A jumbo hermit could eat one whole block by itself over a long weekend, so make sure there is enough for everyone in the tank!.

It honestly molds super fast and my crab didn’t really take any interest in the first one. It came in a kit. Honestly don’t see myself buying this separately

I buy this sand for my hermit crab (named Thelma). The bag has enough sand to cover her cage a little under two inches, which is enough for her to play in and hide in. The sand also comes in all different colors.

I recommend both this product and the entire brand to hermit crab owners.

It’s a good quality but not enough sand. Hermit crabs need at least six inches of sand. To use this for that much sand would cost a lot. I prefer to but quickcrete premium play sand for my hermits.

In college I had hermit crabs. I bought this sand for them and it looked great in their cage. It seemed like it was something they liked and that it was close to what their natural habitat would be. They lived a long time and seemed as happy as hermit crabs could be!.

Often when you buy from a reptile shop it’s cheaper and you can get more pieces, so I was hesitant to try this. I finally ordered and was so pleasantly surprised with the size and quantity. I Received 2 larger pieces like the image & 2 smaller as well, exactly how I would of picked the cork pieces myself from a shop.

Im super happy with the size/quantity for the price. They can be cut to any size preferred. Super satisfied & glad I tried this product from chewy. Highly recommend to anyone with tarantulas & reptiles.

So I have a bunch of these in my hamsters cage. I decided to buy another one recently from chewy, and all of a sudden my hamster has mites! I had to completely wipe her cage out and disinfect EVERYTHING.

It was horrible! She didn’t have them before I put it in, and now she does. I would advise if you do buy this, to make sure you clean it throughly. I didn’t even know that was a potential problem until it happened.

I went to check on literally a day afterward I put it in, and she had bites all over, but didn’t have anything of that nature beforehand. I wish they wrapped them in plastic like they do on other shops I got it from, then this wouldn’t be a problem!.

My gecko absolutely LOVES this hide. It is hands down his favorite spot to spend his time. He has multiple hides, several on the warm side and several on the cold, he will only leave to eat his food and for his usual lap around his tank.

Then he will go right back! He is so content. I purchased 2 more, now he rotates between the three!.

This hermit crab is big! I didn’t read the dimensions and when I picked it up, I was so surprised. He’s sturdy and great quality, like all of the Safari LTD animals I’ve bought in the past!

It is very kid friendly. Has been used for school projects, as a kids toy. Grandson uses his imagination.

Hermit crabs DO NOT need this!!! The only good it does for them is that the crab may eat the sponge. They need salt and fresh water bowls that they can FULLY SUBMERGE THEMSELVES in. Pet store “care guides” are almost completely incorrect for these little guys.

The only reason I can give this hermit crab sponge a 5-star rating (since I’m obviously not a hermit crab!) is because Ravine always uses it. I have watched her at her freshwater bowl, where I have the sponge, NOT drinking directly from the water, but from the sponge itself.

I had no idea a hermit crab needed non-chlorinated water (I buy the Imagitarium fresh water glug from Petco specifically for crabs) with a sponge in it, plus a separate salt water bath (again carried by Petco) but this crab has lived over 4 years now and is active and happy.

When I first got hermit crabs, I was told they need sponges to drink water. Since then I’ve learned from great hermit crab owners who actually research and *don’t just try to profit from hermit crabs* on Facebook and YouTube (like CrabCentralStation, LCHOS).

Hermit crabs need salt and freshwater pools they can FULLY submerge in (just like at a beach- their native environment) and sponges: they harbor bacteria, don’t last long, are unnatural, and a waste of money :).

When I had hermit crabs (I’m planning on getting more), I had these water pillows. These are NOT for hermit crabs to use to drink. They are used to hydrate the hermit crab habitat. How I soaked them: Carefully fill a PLATE (not paper or cardboard) with cool water.

Put 1-2 water pillows upside down so the white part is in the water. Let them soak for 30 min – 1 hr. When they are full of water, dry the plate and put it away. Put a water pillow on each end of the hermit crab tank.

Whenever the water pillows dry out again, soak them again. These last for a long time (well, for me they did), but I think you should renew them every 5-6 months. I recommend this product to all hermit crab owners.

If your having problems keeping the Humidity in your Hermit Crab tank up, than this product is what you need. The packets retain water for an extended period of time and add moisture in the air to help keep your Crabitat at comfortable levels for your Hermies.

This product works especially well when transporting Hermit Crabs. Place one or two packets in the carrier and your crab will have proper humidity during his travels.

I purchased these to add extra humidity to the tank. Hermit crabs need humidity and these help to add more.

Initially bought this set of logs because they will complement the rustic theme of my terrarium. Upon receiving the package, I rinsed, boiled in saltwater and sun-dried before adding them into the tank.

My terrarium looks so much better now! Adding these made it look so aesthetically appealing. My hermit crabs also love climbing up and down and would hide underneath when they feel like resting. This additional accessory also created a mini playground for them and I am so happy with the purchase.

I bought these for my aquarium! I rinsed them since they were a little dusty and then I boiled them for a couple of minutes for them to sink easier. The water turns dark when you boil the cholla woods – I used this as a tannin booster for my tropical fish and as a ph softener.

Overall I am pleased with these pieces of cholla wood!.

I have a 50’gallon tabk and seceral cholla wood pieces in my tank. I like how they look since they are “natural†and it provides surface area for algea growth and my hillsteam loaches seem to enjoy them.

That being said BEWARE i have lost two fish as a result of them eating whatevef gets stuck (food) in some of the holes. One actaully became decapitated the other was stuck in the hole and when i helped remove her it removed scales ans flesh.

Make sure the holes are smaller than your fishes head/body so they cant it in them. The two i lost were platies (same size as molly and guppies).

Good product, bit larger than expected to be honest, but look great

Ordered 3 Hermit crabs got 4 surprisingly. But sadly 2 died after a week even though all 4 were seperated and were put through complete PPD’s. 2 are Thriving and very healthy. All were of various sizes, no mites, missing claws, looked mistreated.

The smallest one and 1 larger one just didn’t handle the trip well. Justr seem like they need a bit more cushion in their packing.

The reason for this 3 star review is that the extra crab they packed had been dead for a very LONG time!! It was half eaten by maggots. They need to throughly inspect each crab. Other than that, they’re all very active and beautiful!!.

I did do much research before getting these and found good reviews. They all arrived well and healthy and larger than those found in pet stores. Hoping my research will make a difference in their survival.
