Best Shaving Cream For Slime (2025 Updated)

This product is primarily marketed to men, but as a woman, it’s still pretty great. I love the scent (masculine, but so NICE) and the moisturization. I find that a little goes a long way. I was apprehensive buying this because reviewers spoke of the product being too thick and unmanageable.

Let common sense be your guide and experiment with what works best. For me, I only need a nickel-sized amount of product to sufficiently cover an entire leg. Don’t treat this like Barbasol, friends – it’s cream, not foam! I have sensitive skin, but I’ve never once had razor rash using this product.

After trying this, I’m never doing traditional shaving creams again. I recommend giving this one a try!.

I suffer from mild acne (normally below bottom lip and above top lip) and used to get spots at the bottom of my beard area. I don’t have a thick beard, but used to get the odd in grown hair every now and then.

I’ve got combination skin, slightly sensitive. I used to use the small men-u shave cream which helped get a close shave, and was very economical. I tried this on a whim, and combined with my usual Gilette Fusion razor, the results have been fantastic.

Close shave, no spots at the bottom of my beard area (where I used to get at least red marks, and at worst an ingrown hair). My razor glides with no problems, although I rinse the blades under a strong stream of water after each stroke as the gel can clog a little.

I only need a blob about the size of a 2p, it doesn’t foam so you can see what you are shaving too. So it’s economical (I can see this bottle lasting me a good 6+ months), the packaging is suitable (you can unscrew the top and decant into a smaller bottle for travel if needed), no ingrown hairs or red marks (or even nicks on my neck).

I’m never switching to anything else.

Although slightly pricey, Tend Skin Air Shave Gel gives a super close shave. The consistency of the gel is super slick and not much product is needed for a close shave. My boyfriend and I both use and love this shave gel.

It can be difficult to get the gel out of the bottle when it’s almost empty. I think a squeeze tube bottle with the cap on the bottom would work better. Despite the design flaw in packaging, I would still recommend this shave gel for a close shave for men or women.

this was an accidental purchase because i thought that i was buying the razor bump solution by tend skin, HOWEVER this product is wonderful & gives me a very close & smooth shave! i love it and it was a very pleasant surprise.

The other reviewers are correct. I just called 1-800-GILLETTE and the CSR told me that they DID change the scent (and removed a chemical) in January 2022. I bought this can in September 2022, and it STINKS like very, very cheap men’s cologne.

He claimed that they test new products, but there is no way that they tested this with women on the panel because no woman would approve of this smell. My guess is that they made the smell more “masculine” so they could try to sell a more expensive “shaving gel” to women.

Please call Gillette at that 800-number and complain about the STINK. Be firm and don’t let the CSR water down your comments. I’ve been using Gillette Foamy in the red can for at least 25 years, and I loved the product.

The new product is complete garbage. Don’t be fooled by the photo — this vendor and all Am*z*n and Walmart vendors are shipping the new 2022 “horizontal Gillette” can, not the old “vertical Gillette” that smelled good.

Here we have yet another case where clueless management types think they know better than their customers. The old Regular Foamy was about perfect, with a somewhat understated yet pleasant scent. I just bought a can of the new Regular, used it once this morning and it’s going in the trash.

The scent is cheap and, frankly, repulsive. In fact, I can’t seem to remove the disgusting scent from my face despite numerous washings. This is like an episode of Seinfeld! So long Foamy – and good riddance! Garbage – would give the zero stars if I could…….

The new formula for Gillette Foamy Regular shaving cream reeks, literally. I can hardly stand to have it on my face long enough to shave. My wife used to love the way Gillette Foamy smelled. She even found it sexy.

Now she hates the smell, which unfortunately lingers. Why has Procter & Gamble sabotaged their own product? When will they come to their (olfactory) senses and bring back the Gillette Foamy Regular formula that most of us have used and have been happy with for years?.

I disagree with the previous review that said the scent is displeasing. Both my husband and I like the scent. But to each his own. My husband has been using this shave cream for at least 5 years. I used to use it myself for my legs.

I only stopped because I decided to use oil instead. No, it’s not as thick as most other shave creams out there, but it applies well once you work it in your hands a little bit. It doesn’t provide a thick coating of shave cream.

So if that’s what you’re looking for, this isn’t for you. But when I was using this, I found that this thinner shave cream gave far more glide than any other shave cream I’d used (including Gillette, Avalon Organics, and Giovanni).

Also, it didn’t dry my skin out like the other ones I’d used. My husband agrees. Even though it runs a little, he find it works better than any other he’s tried.

I had not used scented Art of Shaving products for some time, I did in the past. Recently I purchased scented again. I chose the Sandalwood scent. The scent is overpowering and overwhelming. I don’t recall it being so overpowering.

I recall it being subtle. Can someone from the Art of Shaving address if there was any ingredient change or change in the mix? It is so overwhelming that I have had to throw my Sandalwood shaving packages away because the whole bathroom reeks of Sandalwood and it doesn’t feel like natural Sandalwood.

I really wonder if you all changed something? I have thrown it away and I am getting unscented. But the scented options used to be quite subtle and masculine. Now they are just an overpowering stench.

Maybe I got a bad batch?.

I really got into my shaving about 5 years ago. I walked into the Art of Shaving store which was located in Annapolis Mall here in Maryland. The young man who helped me was very informative and I walked out with a started kit, and a great deal of information on how to get the most out of my shaving.

Using the Sandalwood Cream and also the balm has turned my morning shave from a chore to something that I honestly look forward to. I get a get deal of pleasure from the quality of the shave, and the way my face feels afterwards.

I never thought that shaving would or could become such an enjoyable experience.

89 or so. With inflation it might be the only steady consumer product. As usual it can be found in drug stores, or the big box places. The aloe does soothe my sensitive skin. Shaving even with high quality blades, it’s not a pleasant procedure necessarily.

Am a bleeder, and I’m waiting for the Red Cross blood mobile to be just outside my house. This has actually cut down on the bleeding, but also has decreased razor burn. That alone is impressive. It’s far more gentle, lathers well, and also has a pleasing aroma.

Am glad to recommend this, as it’s lathering ability, and assistance in shaving have been appreciated.

Using shaving lotions or gels is touchy for me. Everytime I have my legs I get bumps and they itch. No difference with is no different. I believe some people’s skin on their legs just don’t want the abrasion.

It’s thick and foamy, and my husband’s go-to shaving cream. It has a very faint smell that doesn’t linger. Barbasol is very reasonably priced and found in almost all stores.

This is a great product! It combines a shave oil with a lube and heats up nicely. Want a REALLY warm shave? Clean your face with the Coal Miner face “wash” first. Not sure what’s going on, but either the lanolin activates the heat or the lack of oil does, but the heat sensation is NOTICABLY more intense.

For years I have been using Pre-Shave Conditioner with Shaving Cream. Legs and underarms. I have the type of skin nobody wants (autoimmune, eczema, rosacea). My opinion really good for sensitive skin and moisturizing.

A little goes a long way. Does not clog razor. A great product.

Perfect for sensitive skin and metal allergies to razor blades. Frequent purchase. No odor, gender neutral, and great value. Would be nice to be in a bottle to control water exposure in the shower and easier application.

I love Truly, even if it is kinda gimmicky. Their products are expensive but SO pretty! And ugh they smell so good (usually; I’ve gotten old jars before that just smell like Play-Doh). I will say the polishes do their job.

And this shave butter does its job. Pretty much. But not well enough to warrant the price and small amount. I think when all is said and done, I’ll have gotten 3. 5 leg shaves out of 1 jar (0. 5 being knee down).

It doesn’t have an overpowering smell, just a light, milky coconut scent. I have no clue how you’re supposed to get a good lather out of this product. I’ve used varying amounts, running for different times.

Honestly the longer it sits on your skin in the steam, the thinner it gets. Now, it does soften the skin and my shaves have been good. I get razor burn and I frowns like crazy and this seemed to lessen them a bit.

My main advice is to swipe off excess water from your legs before using and do not use it with running water! I honestly may try it on slightly damp legs. At any rate, it’s fine, you’ll get a few good shaves from the jar.

But Truly needs to make this the normal jar amount (which is still pretty small) to be a remotely worthwhile repurchase.

I’m giving this 3 stars because I do like the smell and the packaging itself. I don’t like thats it’s in a glass container tho and it’s a shower product. You do not get a lot of product for the very expensive price of this, the jar is way smaller then I expected.

I’m already half way thru it and received this a week ago. As soon as you put it on wet skin, it just disappears and isn’t much of a lather at all (definitely doesn’t work/look like the ads at all) I’ve used cheaper shaving creams like eos and skinimate and worked way better.

I’ll finish using this product but it definitely will not be a repurchase due to the high cost and how much you need to actually get a lather. If it were cheaper, I’d buy it strictly for the nice scent, but surely not worth the price tag considering the small amount of product you actually receive.

Is this a joke? I was def not paying attention to the amount when I ordered this product. It is whipped, so you’re basically already paying for air. but then the TINY container isn’t even full!!! This was SO much smaller than I expected for the price, surely this can’t be serious? And then for the product to be presented in a ribbon-like texture inside the jar?? Sure it looks cute (great marketing, y’all got me) but holy heck there are so many gaps in the container between the ribbony swirls of product where there could (SHOULD) be actual product.

I can’t even bring myself to open this. Even 20% off I feel like this is a total ripoff for such a small amount of product! Returning!.

Extract of Limes Shaving Cream is a great example of the quality products produced by GFT. This was my go to scent all summer long, and I plan to continue using it now that the weather is changing. After quickly using this tube, I purchased a tub, and it’s half used.

Also, the Extract of Limes Skin Food is wonderful to use after shaving. This scent pairs well with any cologne which opens with a citrus burst. It’s refreshing and classic. This is my favorite year-round GFT scent, even though GFT Sandalwood is my favorite fall and winter GFT scent.

This tube is a great way to try this scent, if you are unsure, but I wouldn’t hesitate to go straight to the 200 g tub. You’ll like it. Thanks, GFT!.

I have tried many types of shaving cream over the years, including TOBS which has been a favourite, but I must say that this Trumper’s Rose is definitely a superior product. The scent is truly like roses and not like a chemical approximation.

As far as performance goes, it produces a wonderful thick and slick lather which has no tendency to dry out during a multi-pass shave. As an example, I generally find Feather blades harsh and uncomfortable to use, but I gave it a try with this shaving cream and it was a different story altogether – the shave was both comfortable and very close !! I only purchased a travel tube to give Trumper’s a try but I will definitely be purchasing a tub of this cream next time around and will try some other Trumper products as well.

I have used a number of different shaving products since my teens and this is by far the best I have encountered, run only close by the one by Decleor. Whilst it felt strange at first to use a cream and for it not to lather greatly I soon found that this made no difference.

In fact I can reliably say that I experienced the closest shave I have ever had. On top of that the lime fragrance is very refreshing. Previously I have found shaving just 24 hours apart has irritated my skin however this has significantly decreased with this cream.

I cannot recommend it enough and for such a great price also.

I could not believe when th product was received the day after placing the order. This was the first time I had purchased through Mankind, and I have been very impressed with the service I have received.

As for the product itself, the shaving cream has been a great purchase. I normally go for a bog standard product such as Gilette shaving foam, and so I was expecting good things from this given the price paid.

I have not been disappointed and would say that the extra expense is worth it for the superior quality. It leaves my skin feeling smooth and the shave is very close too. If you are in 2 minds as to whether or not the extra cost can be justified then I would say don’t worry.

It is an excellent product, will last you a long time and you will feel all the better for it.

This is my second time I ordered the eShave Orange and Sandalwood Shaving Cream. It goes on easily, builds up a nice lather and my razor just slides right through my beard. After shaving, it leaves a nice scent and my skin is soft and smooth.

I really like this shaving cream and will continue to order and use as long as its made.

I have used this product only once with a second use double edged razor. The cream is smooth as butter and provides a luxurous lather using a brush. A little goes a long way. So far I like it, but want to see if it lives up to its claims of: no razor burns, on ingrown hairs, no bumps, and no 5 o’clock shadow.

So first, I have the Razor 2. 0 I was fairly new to “hobbyist” shaving, but was still using multi blade heads on a weighted handle. Instantly knew I’d be a single edge shaver for the rest of my days.

Next I tried the Black Label blades, HUGE game changer for someone with sensitive skin! What a difference. I had sampled the post shave spray once previously, didn’t really feel like it was “for me”.

I was used to a balm, which is obviously more lotion-like. I went ahead and got this pack because I was basically getting my the post shave spray for free (holiday sale). I’m here to tell you, this stuff is worth it! 100% The witch hazel stings a tiny bit, but I just put this stuff on liberally, then add my normal balm … next day my skin is so soft and smooth! I highly recommend it! The Shaving Cream is nice.

It definitely creates a nice smooth lather, works especially well if you preshave with an oil. The bowl and brush work so well! The bowl holds the heat from the water, makes for a more luxurious feel to the lather, and it has ridges inside of it to help work the cream into said lather.

The brush is fantastic as well. The handle feels sturdy, the bristles are just stiff enough to both work the cream into a lather and help agitate the hairs so they stand up better for shaving. As an added tip for those who shower after shaving, I squeeze the extra shaving cream out of the brush and apply it to my face, after washing my face off and before showering.

I feel like the natural ingredients help nourish my skin. On an added note, I also have their daily moisturizer, which is also a great, refreshing, non-greasy product that helps your skin to be healthy! You can really tell the care that goes into these products.

I have yet to be disappointed in anything I’ve gotten from Supply. I am seriously a lifer for their shaving products and equipment. If you aren’t impressed on first use, see it through. You’ll recognize the value and quality after a few uses!.

This Shave Accessories Set is great. I love that the Brush is not real animal. I’m not a vegan or anything like that, but if you can produce the same results with synthetic materials, why not do it. It does what a shave brush should do; whip up a good lather and brush evenly onto face lifting your stubble.

It looks and feels “real” but more importantly, it won’t break your wallet. The Shave Cream really stands out in both providing a smooth clean shave and scent! I have the CRISP scent and really love it.

The Post Shave is ok. I feel it would be better served as a cream form rather than liquid spray. I still apply a post shave cream after the spray which is redundant to me. I would for sure purchase the Shaving Cream again.

Hopefully I won’t have to buy a new brush anytime soon. The Supply products are far better than products from another Arty shave company. I feel they’re better for your skin, don’t leave an oily residue, rinse off nicely, smell good and equally as important, economical.
