The Shark Cordless Lift-Away vacuum is a pretty unique concept and a great idea, that just isn’t quite a home run. yet. Out of the box (like most Shark vacuums–I’ve owned several) it’s very easy to unpack and ‘snap together’.
It took all of five minutes to get together, and that includes a minute or two to look over the diagrams to make sure I was doing it right. The battery has some charge to it, but Shark recommends charging it fully, and draining it fully on first use before charging it again to get the most out of the battery.
I obviously have no idea what kind of life span to expect from the battery, but given it’s size and unique-to-this-vacuum design I can’t imagine it’s cheap to replace. I haven’t done any research on this yet, but hopefully Shark has plans for other devices that will use this same battery, otherwise you’re looking at a ‘lifetime’ expense for an already expensive vacuum.
Best Buy’s ‘geek squad’ protection includes one battery replacement–probably worth researching the replacement cost and seeing which is cheaper (I’m betting 5-years of geek squad is cheaper than one battery–plus covering everything else for 5 years? Probably worth it!).
The vacuum itself is pretty easy to use, though it’s a little tricky to ‘snap’ the body back onto the stick portion of the vacuum. The “led” placement that shows battery life remaining and which power setting you’re on could have been placed better–as it is it’s awkward since it faces away from where you are holding it, and requires moving it in order to read it.
Not sure why they didn’t face the back direction–that would have made a lot more sense. The big plus to this vacuum is that it is fairly portable–it’s fantastic on stairs, or anyplace that it’s harder or awkward to bring a normal, heavy vacuum.
The Shark is noticeably lighter than every upright I’ve ever had to carry, so that is a blessing. They obviously worked very hard to make this light-weight, and they did a great job. It’s still a little awkward since the ‘body’ has to be carried–there just isn’t a good way to do this without both hands.
The vacuum has three settings. Shark says that the ‘normal’ (middle) strength is good enough for every day jobs. I have three kids and a black dog that sheds a lot, so I feel pretty sure Shark’s idea of ‘every day’ and mine are a little different.
It does do a decent job, but I found myself switching to the high power setting fairly often. This brings me to the biggest drawback of this vacuum. The battery life on the ‘high’ setting is abysmal.
We got maybe 10 minutes out of a fully charged battery trying to clean our stairs–granted, it had been a while since we’d done them so they didn’t look great, but 10 minutes wasn’t long enough to complete even half of the job.
I imagine if we do them on a more regular basis we won’t have to use the high setting, but it’s a real drawback that when we do it won’t be for very long. The ‘normal’ setting can get a little over an hour, so that’s a huge difference.
Again, it does a decent job, but even switching for a few seconds to high seriously affects the overall time–that hour drops to 30 minutes after using the high setting for 2 minutes. The battery is already far and away the heaviest part of the vacuum, so until some portion of the technology improves that will just be ‘how it is’.
Overall it’s a great concept that’s executed fairly well–just keep your old vacuum around for the big jobs, or for when the battery runs out (it takes a few hours to charge back to full). I recommend it due to the light weight and great ease of use, just keep in mind that you’ll either want another battery right out of the gate, or you’ll have to vacuum in ‘spurts’ while waiting for the vacuum to charge.
The Shark Vertex Pro Powered Lift-Away Cordless Vacuum with DuoClean PowerFins is another incredible offering by Shark, the best brand of vacuum cleaners out there in my opinion. This Vertex Pro cleaner is incredibly powerful, in fact to my astonishment it behaves like a corded vacuum without the cumbersome cord! It has incredible suction, even when using it on carpeting.
The digital display is bright and easy to read, letting me know how much power I am consuming as I go from room to room, so I can pace my efforts accordingly. Only low to medium power is necessary on hardwood and tile, impressing me everytime just how long the battery will last.
It stands on its own, so no need to prop up against a closet wall, or place it on a hook, making it store away easily and efficiently. It does not have a place to board the attachments but that isn’t a deal breaker for me since I know in advance just what my cleaning ambitions are and I simply plan accordingly.
A small canvas bag with the super useful attachments in it and I am set to get my house cleaned to perfection. I am in awe of how quiet it is, and how super bright the light is that lights my way as I go.
The versatility of this cordless cleaner adds to how useful it is. When needed I can transform it to be a handheld cleaner, making it one more reason why I like it so well. In this mode it is able to go really deep under furniture and also clean dusty surfaces up high.
Of course it has a hepa filter which helps to keep the air quality in our home in good shape which is a must since we are all allergy sufferers. The dust cup is easy to remove, empty and reinstall. Thanks to this awesome cordless cleaner, I have my home looking great and it is helping to keep the air quality as healthy as I can get it.
After I’m done cleaning I simply take out the battery, install it on the charger, then plug it in (in that order) and I am all set to use it the next time. You just cannot go wrong with this Vertex Pro Powered Lift-Away Cordless Vacuum cleaner by Shark.
Keywords: Versatile, Long battery life, and Great Value for its features: Versatile: The vacuum is configured to be used as a traditional upright vacuum for floors, a handheld vacuum for smaller places/cars, and connected to various vacuum tips for multiple purposes like furniture, pets, and high-up places like ceiling fans.
The reason I like this compared to most of the other stick-style cordless vacuums is that most of the weight is not distributed on the top and when you configure it as a handheld one, the tip and the big container (bottom motor, etc.
) is separate. This makes vacuuming above floor much easier and more accurate. Long battery life: This vacuum has longer battery life than all my previous ones, on low, it’s rated 60 mins and I usually use medium for my hardwood floor and it can be used around 40min which is super impressive.
They also have a pretty display telling you the percentage of the battery life on top which is fairly useful. Great Value for its features: this is by no means a cheap vacuum but with the money you pay for, you get a lot of features.
It has HEPA closed filter which is a big plus if you have people in the house with allergies or pets. It has dual rollers with different modes which makes its performance on par with top-tier vacuums, a guided rail for making an easy turn when you vacuum, and different parts that can be detached, washed, and maintained.
Overall, if you don’t care about super fancy color/design or big brandings like Dyson etc. and you just want a vacuum that gets the job done (so well) and is super versatile backed by great battery life that is going to last than break in a couple of years, this is the vacuum for you.
This is a pretty new model that lacks good reviews so hopefully, this review is helpful and makes constructive advice on anyone who is looking for new vacuums!.
With the push of a button, Lift-Away technology allows you to lift the canister away and easily clean in hard-to-reach areas. This vacuum is also equipped with a large-capacity dust cup and a completely sealed system with a Hepa filter to trap dust and allergens.
It also includes a Brushroll Shutoff button so you can easily switch between carpet and bare floor cleaning. The extendable Under Appliance Wand allows for a thorough clean in hard-to-reach places. Dimensions: 14.
I couldn’t despise a vacuum more than I despise this one. We have had three Shark vacuums before this one. They were all the Navigator, but not the lift away. This model is horrible. The drum fills up with ONE PASS OVER OUR LIVING ROOM AND WE HAVE BRAND NEW CARPET.
Literally, we had our house was built, everything completely new, we have no pets, we don’t smoke, and we bought this vacuum brand new to use in our new house so none of the old “dust and dirt” from our previous home would be transferred to this “new everything” house.
Every single time we use it it smells weird. We’ve cleaned the filters, we clean the drum, we have replaced the filters, all three, it still smells. The way it’s built is so unsteady it falls over at the slightest gust of wind.
Literally I have walked by it too quickly and it’s fallen over. The hose seems like it’d be long but it’s so tight it doesn’t stretch far. I cannot find a single thing about this vacuum I like and that stinks because I am an avid Shark product lover.
Now, as I’m looking for another new vacuum to replace this barely used one that’s garbage all around, my husband doesn’t want to get another Shark because of this one. Not to say I blame him, because I don’t, it’s horrible.
Over the last 7-8 years of having Shark vacuums this one ruined their image and reliability for us both. And that’s after our second one caught on fire and burned my husband’s hand, but they sent us a new upgraded version of that model we had even though it was two years old and pretty worn out, because the reason it caught fire was fixed for the new model they sent us.
So we weren’t even that upset over that entire incident. This whole vacuum in comparison makes me really annoyed they would even sell a product like this.
The Shark – Navigator Lift-Away Upright Vacuum is a good and powerful relatively lightweight vacuum. The cord is long, the handle is a comfortable height, and the vacuum swivels so it’s easy to push and get around furniture.
It has powerful suction and is height adjustable so it works well on different types and lengths of carpet. The roller can be turned off, which is convenient if you want to use it on bare floors or decorative carpeting with long tassels.
Some things that I would have liked more of is on board tools, this only comes with 1 extender crevice tool and 1 little combo duster piece which I don’t know what it’s really called. The dirt cup is an ok size but of course space is taken up by the filter, and It’s easy to empty.
You can remove the whole center section of the vacuum and use it with the hose and extender crevice tool or other tool if you want to vacuum higher places like vents on a wall or ceiling fans, or go up the steps while vacuuming the baseboards, etc.
Easy to use- makes vacuuming seem like less of a chore! It’s been over a year since we got it Oct 2020, and it’s still working just as well as it did the 1st time we used it, which is saying a lot because it has to keep up with the fur of 2 cats and 1 long hair dog that sheds a lot! We’ve gone through a bunch of vacuums, all brand names, thru the years, and this Shark Navigator Lift-Away Upright Vacuum is definitely the best one so far!.
This vacuum is okay. I broke my other Shark Navigator, the NV586 purple one, about a year ago and needed a quick replacement so I thought this one would be just as good. It was not. It was fine but really just not powerful enough to handle my 4 kiddos and two pets.
So I went looking for an upgrade and I am coming back to write a review finally becuase I recently purchased the new Shark Vertex DuoClean (AZ2002) and OMG I never knew what I was literally missing. One single pass over an 8×10 rug and the DuoClean picked up more dirt and hair than any other vacuum I have ever owned.
No exaggeration, I think I picked up years worth of nasty that I had no idea was still in there. As a bonus, it also glides over the hardwood floors picking up everything instead of scattering it like other vacuums and now I am also throwing away my brooms.
After owning three Sharks and one Dyson, I would recommend the DuoClean forever. So the NV360 is fine for single folks with no pets or kids who also don’t need to do hardwood floors, otherwise watch for a sale and snag the new DuoClean.
The Shark Rotator Powered Lift-Away is a 3-in-1 upright with Anti-Allergen Complete Seal Technology, Canister Mode and the new Hard Floor Genie to clean your home effortlessly. Provides uninterrupted power for all cleaning occasions in upright, lift-away and canister mode.

TruePet mini motorhead brush attachment puts all the power of an upright in the palm of your hands for above floor cleaning on carpeted stairs and upholstery.
Advanced swivel steering provides the ultimate control to get in and around obstacles and furniture. Anti-Allergen Complete Seal Technology traps over 99. 9% of dust and allergens inside the vacuum while passing through a HEPA filter.
I am a vacuuming obsessed weirdo! I just love to vacuum for some reason. I love the before and after and love the feeling of having a nice clean floor. That being said I tried out all kinds of other vacuums while never really finding one that was great until I bought this vacuum.
It’s got everything I wanted in a vacuum! I should have known to stick with Shark because I have an old lift away professional that I’ve had for well over 10 years!. It’s even still going strong after all the abuse I’ve put it through but it’s just time for a new one.
Only reason I tried switching brands is because the upright sharks are quite heavy and I now have stairs in my place that are hard to clean witha a heavy uptight. After multiple failures with other popular brands I found this one that converts into a canister vac making it much lighter to use on stairs.
I’m in love with this thing. It works so well and it’s super powerful with all the bells and whistles that I could ask for. The LED lighting on the pull out wand is a huge plus! Lights up anything I’m trying to vacuum.
I vacuumed my bedroom soon as I got it right after vacuuming with a popular Eureka that I had previously bought and it was amazing what this vacuum picked up that was left behind by the Eureka. Hopefully this one lasts as long as my other Shark did!.
Easy to maneuver and it’s quieter than our old Shark vacuums. This vacuum has some serious suction! The pet hair attachment that it comes with is NOT the motorized one that we were hoping it came with.
It’s the same as the ones that come with most of the older units that operates on suction from the vacuum. This one is very loud because of the powerful suction and sounds like a jet rearing up for take off.
We bought a new motorized pet hair attachment on ebay for less than half the price that Shark wants for it on their site and it does a great job getting pet hair off furniture. Well worth the investment if you have animals that like to shed on everything.
Very good lights on the head that light up the floor in front of you, and there’s also a light on the handle to light up furniture when you use the attachments. It has kind of a small dust cup and does not have anywhere to store the pet hair attachment on the vacuum itself.
This NV752 seems to have the same flimsy dust cup hinges that always end up breaking eventually like the older units too. Overall a really nice vacuum with serious suction that is easy to maneuver. We’ll see how well it holds up over time.
If it weren’t for JB WELD, our old unit would have been retired a long time ago because it tipped over way too easily. This one doesn’t seem to have that problem but we haven’t had it very long. Time will tell.
This is a great machine with little to complain about so I tell you first that it is a little heavy and I wish the cord was about 2 feet longer. But that is it. You cannot do throw rugs. the suction is too powerful so I just shake them out.
It has a low and small profile so it fits under counters and is easy to maneuver under dining tables. I read the directions on how to assemble. it’s a snap and you are done but did not read the rest of the manual so I have been so surprised when I discover another feature.
When I am using the “stick”, I have been carrying the little vacuum motor and bin box. Then I discovered you can make the bottom part a caddy! The brush tool is great for cat fur and the light on the bottom highlights the cat litter so well that it is a breeze to clean up the litter box room.
Yesterday, I used the stick part to vacuum under the bed and when I got down, I realized there is a light on the stick so you can see! Genius! What’s not to love about this machine? The cat hair and litter are gone! Oh and the suction is very powerful.
Shark’s famous Lift-Away technology now has a lighter pod and a convenient pod-release pedal to clean above the floor. This lightweight vacuum also features DuoClean PowerFins: a PowerFin roller and a soft roller combine on all floors.
Continuous cleaning contact to dig deep into carpets, directly engage floors, and pick up more in every pass. (versus original DuoClean).
This is the newest vacuum in my lineup (I have both the Vertex upright and Vertex cordless and have had the Apex models in the past as well), and it fits right in. Shark has nailed it with the DuoClean and PowerFins design.
The two brushrolls work wonderful together and I have yet to see any hair tangles in any of the models I have (the prior Apex Zero-M would occasionally have some hair wrap). You can tell that this Rotator is built cheaper than the Vertex upright, but that leads to a reduction in weight which makes the Rotator a breeze to move around and carry around.
Lately I have been taking the Rotator with me to my cleaning jobs and I would say it cleans pretty close to the Vertex upright. I never really use the Powered Lift-Away feature on the Vertex upright and have only used the Lift-Away (non-powered) feature on this Rotator once.
The vacuum is light enough to move around without worrying to remove the pod and then you must make sure it is placed back on the floor nozzle correctly, that was a pain. The dust cup is sufficient for medium jobs, but needs to be emptied for larger jobs.
I love the HEPA filtration on all of the models that I have, it feels good to know that the air coming out of the vacuum is cleaner than the air that went in. I sometimes but the baking soda carpet deodorizers to help freshen the smell that comes out of the HEPA filter, and it lasts quite awhile and the box is only $1 at your local retailer.
If the Vertex upright is too heavy for you, try this Rotator, it cleans about just as well as the Vertex and it is much easier to maneuver. The floor nozzle really wants to “run away” from you, so be aware of that (I have seen this on all of their DuoClean models, it gives you an arm workout when vacuuming which I don’t mind but I can see how it could be bothersome to some).
The Rotator, and all of Shark’s vacuums are quite easy to assemble and the parts click together to ensure the proper connection. The cord is the same length as the Vertex and I can easily vacuum the majority of my home without moving the cord.
This model, like the Vertex, lacks the LED light on the hand nozzle (as was the case on the prior Apex model, please Shark bring that back!). I am very happy with this purchase and can’t wait to see what Shark will come out with next.
I’ve been using cordless vacuums for a few years and they come with their own set of problems. Basically, if you prefer corded, or are willing to sacrifice that for a super strong vacuum, you’ll be thrilled with this.
The suction power here is miles ahead of other corded vacuums and especially cordless ones. I have mostly hardwood floors, with some door mats that are carpeted and I found this did a fantastic job at picking up everything from cat hair, to stray wooden litter, to accidentally dropped craft supplies and food.
It will suck up everything, so make sure you lift toys and whatnot before using it! It does have some downsides, which I’ll discuss, but as well as offering stupendous suction power, the added Pet power brush is amazing at cleaning upholstery.
My tufted velvet sofa is notorious for being difficult to clean and so far the best option I’ve found is a roller. The Self Cleaning pet power brush attachment included is fantastic and even gets the stuff trapped in the tufts.
Which leads me to one of the negatives. The lightness of the vacuum is actually a double-edged sword. It’s obviously heavier than a cordless handheld vacuum, but considering the monstrous size of this vacuum, it’s actually not that heavy.
Presumably this is a result of their newer, lighter model. It’s a bit of a trade off though, because it being so light means when you’re using the ‘wands’ the vacuum easily tips over. This is compounded by the hose not being stretchy or long enough.
I was happy with the cord length, which is really long. While I still prefer cordless overall, you need to pay about double this amount for a decent cordless vacuum. The versatility of this vacuum is a big plus, I can see it being great for somebody like a cleaner.
It’s lightness despite the size and the ability to ‘lift-off’ the top to reach higher areas, is really great. The wand also retains a lot of power as a result, so my bathroom fan has never been more dust free! I’m not the biggest fan of the design choice, which I feel is old-fashioned and clunky looking, but I really can’t complain about the function of the Shark Rotator Lift-Away, which prioritises function and strength of suction over everything else, making it a well rounded, strong vacuum for those who want a serious clean!.
I have had this vacuum for about a month now. I purchased this based on the reviews. While I think this vacuum is good, I think there are improvements that need to be made. First and foremost, the cord is WAY too short.
Having a Dyson previously and knowing the benefit of a longer cord, this cord is at least 10 feet shorter. It is good for one room decent size room but not more than that. Secondly, The cord comes out at the bottom of the vacuum and points towards the ground so you are constantly picking up the cord and holding it.
Final improvement I would recommend at this point would be that you cannot detach the canister and still use the floor piece. As soon as you detach it you lose power to the other pieces. The positives are the suction and the ability to use the canister for hard to reach spaces.
Would I buy this vacuum again? I am still up in the air on that one. I really like my Dyson products and decided after 20 years to make a change, jury is still out.
This Lift-Away upright vacuum has DuoClean to deep-clean carpets and directly engage floors for a polished look. The self-cleaning brushroll means no hair wrap, and Lift-Away lets you clean above the floor with the push of a button.
DuoClean technology A dual-brushroll system designed to deep-clean carpets and directly engage floors for a polished look. Self-cleaning brushroll The self-cleaning brushroll removes long hair and pet hair with no hair wrap.
Lift-Away technology Use as an upright vacuum for powerful floor and carpet cleaning. Or for more portability, detach the pod to go into Lift-Away mode to easily clean above-floor areas like furniture and stairs.
Anti-Allergen Complete Seal technology Captures dust and particles inside the vacuum and keeps them out of the air that you breathe. Advanced swivel steering Easily maneuver your vacuum in and out of tight spaces, in corners, around furniture, and more.
XL capacity Allows for long cleaning with fewer interruptions to empty the dust cup. Suction control Customize your suction power for hard floors, thick carpets, and other surfaces around your home.
This vacuum is extremely heavy. It took both my hands to swivel right to left. I can only vacuum for ten minutes at a time because of how heavy this vacuum is and it took all my force to swivel right to left.
A vacuum should not be this hard to use. I’m only 33 years old and am exhausted after only ten minutes of using it. They need lighter vacuums, and bigger dust cups. My old shark swiveled way easier to, so they need to go back to the old parts for easier swiveling.
Plus I’m right handed, which is another big issue. The cord is on the right side of the vacuum and I’m right handed. I use my right hand and right leg to move the vacuum back and fourth, so the cord is constantly under my feet tripping me.
They need more vacuums with the cord on the “left side” for us right handed people. Also why are they using really shiny plastic on the vacuum and hand tools. Everything looks horrible after a couple uses, its all scratched up badly.
They use to use a better, stronger plastic that was not shiny! I wish they would let me build them a perfect vacuum lol! I don’t know who’s all designing them, but they’re doing a bad job. A vacuum should be built good and easy to use.
The last four I purchased, I had to return. Either the shiny plastic came out of the box all scratched up and looking cheap. Or the cords on the right side, which was the majority of them. Or the dust cup is so small, I would’ve had to dump it every 10 minutes.
Or the vacuum is so heavy, I could barely push it and the swiveling is very hard to use. And one of them wouldn’t suck up dirt in reverse. One more thing to add, the hose should be on the right side, for us right handed people, not the left side.
I’m really hoping this post,so other people can find the right vacuum and not go through everything I went through.
This vacuum is really powerful, yet manages not to pull the rugs out of place and up the hose. I have several cats and a real hair and litter mess constantly. I can see litter in the path and it pulls ALL of it into the canister.
No bits pop across the floor and away like with other vacuums. This is a huge improvement over past engineering. It’s easy to maneuver. Some state it’s heavy, but I don’t have any problem with the weight.
With a vacuum this powerful, I don’t know how you’re going to have a light weight motor, so just think about this a minute. It’s about 17 lbs. I think it will be important to clean filters often so the motor doesn’t burn out.
This is what happened with my Shark Rocket, but it was completely my fault. I’m upgrading from an expensive well -known other brand and expect to be a Shark vac customer for life. I love the lift away feature too.
Best vac ever!! I can’t express how pleased I am with this model!.
I *really like* this vacuum a LOT and would have given it 4. 5 stars if possible! It maneuvers nicely and has great suction in both the floor and carpet modes and it does not bind up, as promised. The cleaning wand with power head option is super! It’s is just a bit heavier than I would like and all the attachments don’t have a “place” on the unit.
I do empty out the canister often as I’ve got a furry one. A retractable cord would also be a helpful feature. Overall, a really great Shark product and a nice upgrade from the other one I own elsewhere.

A motorized brush roll takes on hard or carpeted floors, while the included upholstery brush and crevice tool offer a neat-and-tidy approach for the entire home.
This is an amazing vacuum. The Shark Navigator light upright vacuum is the best budget Shark vacuum for small to mid-sized rooms. It has the same suction power as the advanced units and cleans well for both carpet and hardwood floorings.
The only negative about this product is that it does not contain a HEPA filter. Other than that, the vacuum performs admirably and it definitely feels light enough to transport to different areas of the home.
I believe that this product is built durably and will last for many years to come. Cleanup is a breeze using this product and I definitely enjoy the large container for trapping dirt and other particles.
The blue color scheme is masculine and has a sleek styling. I love this vacuum cleaner because it does the job well and it definitely is my cup of tea. I love Shark and want to sincerely thank the manufacturers for making such an excellent product!.
I would have given this 5 stars, but there are some design flaws. #1 The onboard tools are constantly falling coming off. #2 the hose design is frustrating, if you don’t twist the handle just so, the entire vacuum falls over.
#3 they could have added 3-5 extra ft on the power cord. All this would have been a huge negative but this vacuums sucking power saved it. This thing SUCKS & never clogs. Hard floors, carpet CHECK! It is lightweight and easy to use.
Also easy to empty the canister. Yes I’d recommend for a lightweight.

TraduireAfficher dans la langue originaleOkay, this vacuum cleaner is actually FUN to run! It’s lightweight and very flexible. The long wand makes getting corners, cracks and crevices a breeze. Only drawback is the base will tip over if you stretch the hose too far, so keep an eye on it as you use the wand.
Cleaning stairs is easy with the “Lift Away” feature. The NV501 has strong suction and durability. Do your regular maintenance as other reviews have mentioned, and store it properly. It’s super easy to take apart when needed.
I accidentally sucked up a microfiber cloth once, but was able to open the hose at the right spot and pull the cloth right out. We’ve had our NV501 for almost a decade and still no problems. Have purchased this particular model as gifts for friends and family.
TraduireAfficher dans la langue originaleI purchased my Shark Rotator Professional Lift away vacuum several years ago when my old vacuum stopped working. It works perfectly yet. I love seeing results and the fact that you can see through the dirt cup filling up with dust and debris brings much satisfaction.
You can hear it picking up literally the smallest crumbs which I also love. It’s lightweight and swivels so smoothly and it’s low profile base gets under the edges of our beds and recliner very easily without using the hose attachment or moving furniture.
The only downfall which isn’t even an issue because I love this vacuum so much is that the cord isn’t retractable. Both filters are incredibly easy to change too which is huge for efficiency and suction power.
The price seemed about average for vacuums I was looking at. If you’re interested in this but the price is too high for you, wait until around black Friday as I’ve seen these for almost $100 off at Kohls.
TraduireAfficher dans la langue originaleI bought this off Amazon for $269 roughly a year ago after everyone in a Facebook group suggested I check out the shark vacuums. It works so much better than the cheaper vacuums I’ve always bought from Wal Mart.
This one has lights and the sucking power is strong. You can even adjust the suction power with a dial at the top. I don’t bother using any of the attachments when I use the hose and have no complaints.
It does require filters or filter cleanings and the cup on the front pops off for easy disposal. It could be a better design for the pop off compartment so that’s why I’m giving it 4 stars. I always seem to spill just a little when I’m emptying it into the trash.
This vacuum is still going strong and I do recommend it to anyone asking for a great brand. The biggest pro for me is it works on my hardwood floors and my rugs! There’s even an indicator light that flashes red if something had your roller clogged.
The Shark Rotator Professional Lift-Away features two vacuums in one. This powerful upright is also a portable Lift-Away that makes vacuuming quick and easy on both carpets and bare floors. You’ll find this vacuum completely versatile.
It’s armed with swivel steering to maneuver around furniture, features a power nozzle with LED headlights, and includes a brush roll on/off to provide superior performance. The Rotator also features Anti-Allergen Complete Seal Technology + HEPA filtration to trap 99.
9%* of dust and allergens inside the vacuum. Combined with two foam filters, this dust containment system helps keep allergy-causing agents from releasing back into the air. Additional accessories include a pet power brush, crevice tool, straight suction nozzle and a wide pet upholstery tool.
An extra-long 30 foot long power cord allows you to clean larges spaces easily. It is even exceptionally quiet, so you won’t disrupt your household either! Based on ASTM F1977 of particles between 0.
After using for a month, I’m very impressed with the performance of this model. There’s lots to like! While the suction is really good, what functions better than other brands is that the brush roll allows frontal pickup.
I’ve used other vacuum cleaners where the pickup is very limited because they mainly suction from one end of the head. This Shark picks up well from all directions, which i really like! The motor is fairly quiet, not overly noisy.
Although not as light as some other Shark models, it’s not too heavy either. The dust capacity is great, and the swivel feature and lights on the head are helpful. This machine does just about everything I want it to.
The one drawback is that due to the larger dust canister, it does not flatten really well to reach very far under a chair, for example. There is a separate attachment for that, but it does take time and effort to switch.
Nonetheless, this Shark is a great model! The designers thought of most everything, including a place on the hose intake, where a large object, such as one vacuumed by mistake, can be removed easily.
I wish the cord were longer, but I’ve added my own extension. If the motor lasts a long time, I’ll be enjoying vacuuming with this one a lot!.
The Shark Rotator NV501 has one of the strangest designs I’ve seen in a vacuum. This is not my first Shark vacuum. i owned the NV22 previously and really liked it’s simple design and raw power (actually more powerful than this model).
I also own a Kirby G5 and a Vorwerk which is one of my favorites of all time, but it’s broken. The Kirby is, of course, too hefty for daily use with stairs involved which is why i opted for the Shark brand which beats on price and has great performance for the buck.
This particular model seems to be AI designed rather than human engineering because it’s just so weird and takes a biy of getting used to which is why I only gave it 3 stars. Performance wise – while adequate and quite functional, it could use more suction power.
I do like the fact that you can adjust the suction, but the maximum is way less than either of the other three machines I’ve mentioned including the much older Shark model which again has a more simple and effective design.
I was between this and a Dyson and after reading Dyson reviews with the weight and almost too much suction, I went with this and boy Im not disappointed. I love all the features. Within one vacuum I had a full canister which is something my previous vacuum couldnt do.
Its lightweight and easy to use. The lights in the front help so much to see trapped dirt. I am a huge fan!.
Bring a deep, thorough clean to your floors, rugs and upholstery with this Shark Rotator Pet Plus vacuum. Powerful suction removes dirt, hair and debris embedded in your carpet fibers. Weighing just 16 pounds, this Shark vacuum cleaner is easy to move from one room to another.
Swivel steering allows for effortless maneuvering around corners and furniture, while the 3XL-capacity dust cup lets you cover more floor space without interruption. A 25-foot power cord provides freedom of movement as you tackle stairs and clean hallway floors.
Featuring an extendable hose, this vacuum provides a 12-foot reach for cleaning the top of window treatments and corners of the ceiling.
I had a Dyson that lasted 20 YEARS & it was wonderful until it just finally broke, took me 2 yrs to decide on another vacuum because of the various good/bad reviews, I bought a very cheap one until I could make a decision on a better one, BUT instead of spending $400-$500 on another dyson, I decided to give this one a try, on sale it was a great deal I thought! I do like it, BUT it is heavy, can get kinda backbreaking all the pushing & pulling & ONLY has 2 settings> hardwood or carpet, otherwise you can’t move it up or down for short or longer shag carpet/rugs & ect, so it goes full speed suction on everything & will shred a rug & get hung up in seconds.
Cord length is minimal, so have to constantly stop & plug it in closer. No light & only 2 attachments. It gets the job done I guess. I don’t know why in the world anyone would need a 3XL cannister but whatever.
It puts out A LOT OF HEAT, like pushing around a blowing heater. It has a good attachment for furniture & stairs. All in all, for $150 on sale, tax & all, it is a good buy! Hopefully it will last a few yrs!.
Great Black Friday Deal. No model is perfect. This is my 2nd shark. A few complaints on this model. 1. The power cord placement. If you are not holding or manipulating the powercord, because of its placement on the unit it can wrap under the neck at the base.
Then if/when you try to lock it in the upright position the cord can get pinched. Even possibly damaged if you force it not realizing. 2. It does’nt have the power switch on the handle like my other older Shark.
I constantly have to reach around to turn it off instead of pressing a button on the handle where my thumb is already. 3. The filters are different. Standardize to save everyone time and money. Does a great job otherwise.
They hold up better than a comparable model at the price. It’s a household vacuum that I use in my house like a shopvac and I’ve had shop vacs that didn’t last or do as well a job.
We’ve always had Dyson vacuums. They have incredible suction and I’ve literally never had issues with them. So shame on me when I thought we’d pick this up for the main level in our home (mostly hardwoods and rug coverage).
Well, we have 4 long haired dogs and need to vacuum a couple times a week and this thing clogs constantly. The roller brush on the front for hardwoods leaves massive clumps of hair and needs cleaning constantly.
The suction is less than any dyson I have, and I couldn’t dare imagine trying to use this on my real carpet in the basement. Good thing I left my dyson down there for the basement carpet. Sad I wasted my Sam’s rewards on this last year.
At under 8 lbs. , the Shark Rocket Ultra-Light Vacuum easily converts to a handheld vacuum for versatile floor-to-ceiling cleaning. It’s equipped with swivel steering that allows for excellent control when maneuvering around furniture.
Fingertip controls allow you to easily switch from hard floor to carpet. It offers two storage options. Reliable. Never loses suction or power. Versatile. Floor to ceiling cleaning as well as carpets and bare floors.
Lightweight. only 7 pounds for ease of use. Swivel steering for excellent control while maneuvering around furniture. Color: grey. 10″ W x 10″ D x 46″ H. 500W. 25ft. cord length. Easily converts to hand vac mode.
This Shark Rotator upright vacuum features DuoClean dual brushrolls. The bristle brush deep-cleans carpets while the soft roller pulls in large & small particles, and gives hard floors a polished look.
The self-cleaning brushroll deep-cleans while removing long hair and pet hairno more hair wrap. With Lift-Away, you can detach the pod to clean furniture, stairs, and other above-floor areas. Equipped with Anti-Allergen Complete Seal Technology and a HEPA filter, this vacuum traps dust and debris to keep them out of the air you breathe.
The LED headlights on the floor nozzle provide visibility in dark spaces, allowing for thorough cleaning.
The suction, and action of the beater bar and soft roller are very efficient to lift dirt and hair without collecting on the rollers and are easier than before to clean. It is heavier than my previous Shark vacuum and is more difficult to maneuver in tight areas.
The lift away feature is inconvenient as it does not allow the wand to remain attached to the power head to get under low objects, like my previous vacuum. The cleaning process is easier as there is a side ‘trap-door’ where debris may be removed to prevent clogging and loss of suction; the sponge filter is larger and doesn’t need to be cleaned after each vacuuming (as I do to maintain great air filtration); the canister bottom lid is all-enclosed with a smooth surface; the speed and suction controls are convenient, however, changing from the hard surface mode to carpet takes a few seconds to wind-up and sounds like a jet airplane.
I would like to see a vacuum with lights whether using the power head, extended wand, and short wand; lightweight; easy maneuverability; replaceable duo brush rolls; Apex lift-away; side trap-door; adjustable speeds; adjustable suction; 35′ cord, easy release; 5 year warranty; interchangeable parts with older model Shark vacuums; power control switch in same location with each model; same removable power head cover; mounted tools; etc.
It looks and seems great in theory but even small bits of paper or tiny pieces of cat food cause this thing problems, pet hair causes clogs in the no clog anti wrap system. I have to disassemble the roller assembly almost every time i use this because it never fails that something gets stuck under one roller or the other and I can’t dislodge it without disassembling.
Now, on the plus side they do make it easy to disassemble, and it takes only a few seconds to pull it apart, clean out whatever has it angry and put it back together, BUT the fact is I shouldn’t have to take the time to do this at all.
for it’s price, unless you don’t have pets, and are already very, very clean, choose something else. It regularly leaves hair and cat litter behind and I have to go over the same spot a dozen times to get (most) stuff up, and even after getting it up, sometimes it leaves the same dirt elsewhere as I continue vacuuming.
The suction is lousy. This vacuum is a disappointment and isn’t the quality i expect from shark.
This is for the ZU572 (Shark Rotator Lift-Away) with self-cleaning brushroll. Some sites mix reviews from several products now (especially Amazon) which is misleading and annoying, so I feel that’s necessary to say.
I live alone with my two cats, and half my house has hardwood floors. As for the vac and its ability to pick up crud, I give it 5 stars. It picked up an amazing amount of stuff that my other two older vacs apparently weren’t getting.
I was shocked how dirty my rugs and room carpets actually were. Suction is excellent, and there’s a suction vent control near the handle to adjust how much suction the hose is getting (handy if you have thicker carpets and it becomes hard to roll the vac–that’s how good the suction is!).
I live alone, so I’m not sure how well the “self-cleaning” brushroll works as I don’t have long hair, but the brushroll was spotless after I vac’d my whole house. I live in a smaller place, but the XL bin was more than enough space, and I didn’t have to empty it out between rooms.
As for the features, I was slightly disappointed (but not a deal breaker). The power cord doesn’t retract like my old Bissell, and it seems way too short in my opinion for a non-retractable cable. I wouldn’t mind it not retracting if it were about 10-15 feet longer.
Some different models have much more cord length which is really helpful for larger rooms/areas. Nothing an extension cable can’t fix, just annoying. The LED lights are very helpful against walls and corners, but they really would do better to be much brighter/more powerful.
They don’t really do much unless you’re right up against stuff, but it helped me identify how gross my corners and baseboards were in carpeted rooms (yikes!). Just wish there were more LED’s along the whole front row of the floor unit.
Not sure why they only put them on each side (L/R). The hose feels aggravatingly short and I found myself knocking over the vac when I didn’t “lift-away” the bin/motor unit and just detached the hand piece for quick spot cleaning, but I guess that’ll just take some getting used to.
I’ve never had a lift-away before. The vac is pretty loud comparatively, but it’s not bad for how great the suction is. There’s only storage room on the main vac for 2 of the 3 optional head pieces. The ‘furniture’ head piece uses suction to rotate the brush roller, and it seems pretty useless since it pretty much stops rolling when you apply any pressure to couches or furniture.
Nice thought, but it doesn’t really work. The power button isn’t on the handle, it’s on the vac. I didn’t realize how important that is to me until I changed to this vac (my old one has it on the handle).
But oh well, just gotta get used to it. Overall, I’m very happy with this vac for $200. My house has never been cleaner. It’s a great buy, there are just some things I have to get used to.
A lightweight 2-in-1 Lift-Away upright vacuum with a detachable canister for portable cleaning power. With the push of a button, Lift-Away technology allows you to lift the canister away and easily clean in hard-to-reach areas.
Got this today, was a breeze to assemble and get going. Picks up a lot of dirt and hair quickly, I like the no tangle bush as we have a longer hair dog, and my wife and daughter both have long hair which used to have to be cut from the beater bar of our old vac on a regular basis.
This one has 3 filters so good for allergies, and the dual brushes which did very well on carpet and hardwood, getting a lot of the dust on the wood floor the old one couldnt get. Only a few things to note, the bin is a bit small and had to be dumped a lot because of pet hair, 3 times on our main living room.
It is not the lightest vacuum but about the same as our old one. I wish it came with a cleaning brush head separate order. and had room on board for all the attachments instead of just 2. The head is low profile and fits places our old one would not, and it turns very well.
Will see how well it holds up as the Dyson 07 it is replacing lasted us for 20 years and did a good job consistently. Just didnt want to pay top dollar for a Dyson again. 3 months later and the vacuum is still doing a great job.
We have not had any problems with hair wrap on the brush bar with our golden retrievers fur. Still have to dump the bin a lot with pet fur. Still miss that there was no standard brush attachment, but came with basically two upholstery brushes one powered, one not.
About to order the standard long bristle cleaning brush so I can clean the air return and vents, be nice if the sizes were standard so I could just use the old ones from other vacuums. Another quick update, trying to find accessories like the dusting brush has been difficult.
Shark does not carry one on their website, even though the owners manual says they do, and cant or wont tell you the dimensions needed. Ordering one from Home Deliveries USA, let you know if it fits in a later update.
Well, it does vacuum well. And there is the HEPA filter. For reference, I am used to my old upright Eureka Boss Smart Vac (which lived a long life but recently died), and this Shark is harder use use in many ways.
For starters, a filter bag is so much easier to deal with than the canister, which has to be emptied after every vacuum, and doesn’t even empty completely on it’s own (i. e. you have to reach in to dislodge hair, etc).
I also failed to realize that with the swivel steering, the upright unit is just more unstable and a little harder to push overall as a result. The real kicker though is the almost complete uselessness of the attachments.
Because you have to take the upright handle off, the unit that is left is so short you then have to carry it around. In addition, the attachment tubing is so short that you have to bend over to use the attachments.
So you therefore are all bent over, trying to carry around the unit in order to use the attachments, which is very back breaking. So. It does vacuum; it does good on bare floors and area rugs of various pile depths.
If you never use attachments and don’t mind skin and nose contact with your floor detritus, then this vacuum could be fine for you.
this model served me well using it for a year at a big private restaurant that was nearly all carpet. if it can handle that. it can handle a home for years. great vac for $160, shark has the best suction, however more inexpensive models dont orovide the same suction so this one is qorth the extra $.
Just don’t be dumb and suck up sticks or rubber bands or wrappers, it’s not a shopvac, it will clog like any household vacuum! i love the adjustable suction control, the utility of the wand being long or short, the attachments are fine (as always the air driven furniture cleaner attachment is nearly useless not sure why any company bothers to make em unless belt driven).
easy to empty bucket and super easy to clean. if you get clog in the hose from sucking up something dumb, the hoses and wand and everything come apart so easy to clear clogs. fairly light (not the lightest but that’s the price you pay for a motor big enough to create good suction).
works great on carpet thick or thin and also bare floors which is rare for a vac to be good at both! very nice design, shark: dont change a thing.
Breeze room to room with a powerful suction vacuum that cleans every floor type and reaches every nook and cranny. The Shark Navigator is a 2-in-1 vacuum with powered lift-away that transform it from an upright vacuum to a canister vac.

Breathe freely again in your own home. Anti-allergen and HEPA filters trap 99. 99% of dust and allergens and 2 foam filters keep them from escaping into your home’s air. For a bagless vacuum with excellent suction that cleans your home from top to bottom, look no further than the Shark Navigator Powered Lift-Away.
Dimensions (Overall): 45. 95 inches (H) x 13. 4 inches (W) x 12. 0 inches.
We’ve had this for just under a year, and I wish that we would have returned it when we first received it. We wanted to give it a chance, but that was a mistake, because we missed the return window. Our house has two types of flooring – laminate in most of the areas, and short pile carpet (1/4″ pile) in the bedrooms.
This vacuum can’t handle either of them. On the carpet, even though the pile is short, the beater bar shuts down in less than a pass because it thinks it’s overloaded; the light on the head turns from green to red and you’re left with two choices – turn it off and on repeatedly to “reset” it, or trying to vacuum carpet without the beater bar.
There doesn’t appear to be any way to adjust the bar either, something that our 25-year-old Hoover upright has. So we can’t use this in the bedrooms, and are left using the ancient Hoover. For the laminate, the vacuum doesn’t suck up any larger stuff.
It’ll mostly get the smaller stuff, but any cheerios etc. that the kids knocked on the floor just sit under the middle of the vacuum, and you have a small pile left when you shut it off. (It’s not plugged, etc.
– it’s been that way since we’ve purchased it. ) The wand does mostly work ok. But we didn’t buy an expensive upright to just use the wand. In short, I wish we would’ve either gone with a different model, or returned this one right away.
Now we’re stuck with an expenstive decoration that we just can’t get working. Extremely disappointed.
The powered brush unit on my vacuum quit working after about 15 months. It’s probably just a broken belt, but you can’t replace the belt on this vacuum. This vacuum has a 7-year warranty but before you can inquire about warranty service, you have to register the product.
Then you have to call the 1-800 number. I had to call 3 times because I was cut off twice. I finally talked to someone who informed me that the warranty on the powered-brush portion of the vacuum is only 3 months! Here is the actual wording of the warranty: “What is Not Covered: Normal wear and tear of wearable parts (such as foam filters, HEPA filters, pads, etc.
), which require regular maintenance and/or replacement to ensure the proper functioning of your unit, are not covered by this warranty. ” Well the power brush part of the vacuum certainly does not fit the description of a filter! After complaining, they finally offered me 50% off the replacement part – which brought it down to $60.
In the meantime, my husband found a Bissell at Costco, so we’ve officially given up on Shark.
First off… “only 4 left” is a big lie! It’s said that for days every after I bought one of the so called “4 left” Notice target is doing that to many of their products this year to cause F. O. M. O. Next this is a lousy shark.
Definitely a budget vacuum. Absolutely not worth the apparent retail of $400. I have another model of shark that is much better than this purple one. The Handling is not very controlled. It swivels tightly in directions that it can’t handle.
This model is cheaply made and bulky in all the wrong places. The suction is good, No complaints there. However the brush roll is lacking efficiency. I vacuumed a room fully with this vacuum and went over it with my 5 yo old shark vacuum- the dirt bin should’ve been empty- it was definitely not, what a disappointment.
This is going back to the store and I’ll be purchasing another shark model. Shark is a fantastic vacuum brand… it’s just this model- it’s just not a good one compared to what shark is capable of.
The vacuum that deep-cleans now cleans itself. The Zero-M self-cleaning brushroll delivers nonstop hair removal. Use as an upright vacuum for powerful floor and carpet cleaning. Or for more portability, detach the canister to go into Lift-Away mode to easily clean above-floor areas like furniture and stairs.

The next-generation Shark Navigator lightweight upright vacuum includes the Zero-M self-cleaning brushroll to deliver nonstop hair removal.
Its lightweight design and Lift-Away technology make it easy to clean stairs, furniture, and other above-floor areas. Anti-Allergen Complete Seal Technology traps dust and allergens inside the vacuum cleaner.
Swivel Steering provides effortless maneuverability on both floors and carpets, allowing for seamless debris pickup in hard-to-reach areas.
This is our second Shark vacuum. We loved our first, but I was having to give it a “hair cut” often. With 3 girls with long, thick hair in one household equals a lot of hair getting vacuumed and wrapped around the brush.
This new Shark vacuum has a different brush that is more of rubber paddles that really don’t get all wrapped up. Unboxing and assembly was very easy and straight forward. The directions were clear and it went together in just a minute.
I love that you can take the tank portion off and just walk around with that and use the hose. So nice to get into hard to reach places. The different suction options are also very handy for different flooring-hardwood, short pile carpet, long pile carped, etc.
We have 3 floors of different styles of flooring, and this has been a very convenient tool.
This is hands down the best vacuum I have ever owned. It has amazing suction power. I used it on my carpet after I used my old vacuum and was amazed at the dirt, dust and hair it picked up. I have long hair and and a dog and have no issues with it getting wrapped around the brush or clogging.
It was so easy to put together. It came with picture instructions and all you have to do is snap it together. The detachable canister and tools are great feature. It works great on my stairs and furniture.
This vacuum is so versatile with suction control and hardwood to carpet feature. I have hard wood floors and different styles and thicknesses of carpet. It is so easy to transition from on to the other with a flip of a button and the swivel head makes it so easy to maneuver around.

WOW. Where to start. I usually spend less than $100 on my vacuums, but I went out on a limb and purchased this. I read through many reviews on this and multiple other Shark vaccums, and this one consistently stuck out to me.
I will start with the cons, since there is only one that I have found and that is the weight. It is definitely a heavier vaccum but with how powerful the suction is, it almost helps pull the vaccum through the carpet so it doesn’t feel overwhelming to use.
The PROS however, I have a list. 1. It’s so simple to break down and clean every part of it. I am able to rinse air dry the collection dirt collection cup easily. I throw the two (not one but two!!) filters in the washer and they air dry quickly.
2. It is so powerful that I can literally feel a difference in the first use on my carpet. 3. It is easy to use as a smaller, portable cup to vaccum steps or small areas. 4. The price is honestly well under how much it’s worth! I rate this vaccum highly and I get excited to use it every time.

Can this vacuum be used on hardwood floors This Shark DuoClean vacuum uses dual brushrolls to lift dirt, debris and pet hair from any kind of floor.
This is the WORST upright vacuum cleaner I or my wife ever used ! It was heavy ( 18 lbs). It had a light to indicate “floor” vs “carpet”. We could find no real difference between the two settings! The WORST PART was you couldn’t turn it without much effort (no maneuverability) !! After first use of 45 minutes, my shoulder, elbow, and wrist could take it any more.
MY wife then tried it also and after a few minutes she said she could never use this cleaner again. We’ve had upright bagless cleaners for years, never a problem !! We packed it up and GAVE IT AWAY !! I would NOT recommend this model to anyone !!.
The Shark Navigator DLX Upright Vacuum is powerful, versatile and lightweight for effortless portability. This 2XL-capacity upright vacuum has Swivel Steering for excellent control when maneuvering around furniture.
It has Multi-Level Filtration to trap dust and allergens, and an extra-long wand and hose to easily reach and clean above-floor areas.
Talk about suction power! We moved from a house with all hardwood flooring to a house with mixed carpet and hardwood flooring recently. I had been using a cordless vacuum since that’s all I had from the previous house vacuuming needs.
As much as I disliked a corded vacuum, I knew I needed one with more suction power and can last longer than 20 minutes without the battery dying. I researched for weeks on various vacuums and decided to try the Shark Navigator since it had positive reviews.
Definitely not disappointed! I used my cordless vacuum in my living room and then promptly used the Shark Navigator. I was amazed at how much dirt and dog hair it picked up, even after using the other vacuum first! The suction power is amazing! After vacuuming, my carpet looked fresher and no longer matted down.
Whoa! It was like getting new carpet! The attachments are easy to use on stairs, furniture and small places where the vacuum itself cannot reach. The dirt canister is very large. It’s easy to maneuver and feels decent pushing it around.
It is a little heavy to drag up the steps but it’s not a deal breaker. I may consider getting a second one to leave upstairs to avoid straining myself with daily vacuuming. I am really impressed and love the Shark Navigator DLX vacuum cleaner!.
Overall, this is a great vacuum! Originally looking for a canister vac to replace Hoover cann we repaired for years but could no longer do so… found this one on clearance/50% off and though reviews were mixed, gave it a try for the great price.
The suction is excellent on carpet. Swiveling can be awkward but fine to figure out. The ONLY complaint is that the vac is kinda heavy to push/ lug around, but other than that really pleased with purchase for the price.
I also bought the $11 protection plan factoring in some of the reviews thinking maybe down the line, we’d have probs. (Touch wood, very happy!).
I can’t believe all these bad reviews. I have owned Sharks for over 25 years. At one time I had 5 that needed small repairs (All due to my usage) I am hard on vacuum cleaners. I cleaned my mom’s and both sides of grandparents homes.
The vacuum was in and out of my vehicle daily. So snapping a lock off the canister was common and pulling on the hose , and breaking wheels dropping it on the sidewalk was also common. I would go buy a new one each time becuz I needed them NOW.
One day my husband called Shark to get all the small pcs replaced on all 5 vacuums and they were replaced for FREE! I swear by this vacuum. My fav! I love it!.
Stop Fretting and Get Cleaning with the Shark HV302 Upright Vacuum Cleaner The Shark HV302 Rocket Ultralight Upright Vacuum Cleaner is a potent upright vacuum. This appliance is ultra-lightweight and has strong spin steering that allows you to control it completely and move it about furniture and other obstacles.
This appliance includes 2 speed brush rolls and smart power setting which allows it to deeply cleanse bare floors and carpets. This appliance is versatile and be used to clean floors or ceilings. The wand function can reach high and narrow spaces.
The hand held vacuum feature can be used to clean stairs and furniture. The slim design also encompasses a crevice tool, upholstery tool and easy to empty dust cup, this allows you to clean a wide variety of floor surface, carpets and even delicate area rugs.
Prior to purchasing this vacuum, I had (and still have) a Shark Rotator Professional Upright Vacuum and I love it! However when I moved into a new house that primarily has LVT or “hard” flooring, I was going to be limited to using my Rotator Professional to only the bedrooms and closets since it’s not really for use on “hard” floors that can be scratched (And at the time, a Hard Floor Hero did nothing exist for the Shark Rotator Professional like it does today).
Since I LOVE my Shark Rotator Professional, I looked to no other than Shark for the purchase of my next vacuum that would be compatible with the “hard” floors in my new house. So when I saw this Shark Rocket, and it’s “Hard Floor Hero” I knew that this was going to be my next new vacuum.
After purchasing the Shark Rocket, as soon as I opened the box, I discovered that there is in fact two “hard floor” type attachments for this specific vacuum: the hard floor hero and the dust away attachment.
And that these two hard floor attachments are vastly different. The aforementioned “hard floor hero,” that my vacuum actually came with and that I was excited about, was very underwhelming and in fact was/is a joke.
What I thought that I was getting included in my vacuum purchase was t he hard floor dust away attachment, a much more useful and intuitive attachment, not the hard floor hero. that was my mistake. Then, as far as for performance of my Shark Rocket.
I must say that I’m highly, highly disappointed with the performance of this vacuum from day one. The suction on this vacuum is extremely, extremely weak. especially when compared to my Shark Rotator Professional! And the suction on my Shark Rocket was weak even upon the first use of the vacuum.
Unfortunately though, my fiancé unexpectedly passed away less than 1 month after I purchased this vacuum, and before I ever used the Rocket for the first time, and needless to say, when I did finally use my Shark Rocket for the very first time because of my grief, it was way outside of its return window, and it was even just outside of it’s one year manufacturer’s warranty period as well (When I purchased my Shark Rocket, the manufacturer’s warranty period for it was only one year.
). That’s life for you I guess. I would not recommend the Shark Rocket vacuum at all! I would however highly recommend the Shark Rotator Navigator with its Hard Floor Dust Away Attachment if you have some type of “hard floors.
” Wish that the Rotator Professional’s Dust Away attachment existed when I was first looking for a “hard floor friendly” vacuum for my new house.
I purchased my Shark Rocket Corded Bagless Stick Vacuum for Carpet and Hard Floor Cleaning with Swivel Steering last month. I did not plan on buying this brand at first. My intent was a canister type vacuum that was not over 12 pounds.
I noticed the Shark Rocket design immediately and the words “lightweight ” caught my attention. I can’t lift large heavy or bulky items any longer. I picked the Shark Rocket up and it felt great! I noticed it was designed to be user friendly.
I can easily vacuum the entire floor without emptying the holder. There are several features that are wonderful including push button releases that allow you to change to attachments. For a lighter vacuum, the Shark has tremendous power.
I love the ability to clean corners and baseboards at the push of a button. It is easy to empty and clean out, again, at the touch of a button. Above all, the Shark offers a 5 year warranty that comes standard.
My husband bought this Shark Rocket for me in hopes of replacing my Dyson Animal with something lighter for quick, daily vacuuming, but it’s not up to the task. First of all, though the Rocket isn’t as big or as heavy as my old vacuum, all of its weight is at the top; the dust bin and motor are connected to the hand-hold, which means my wrist and hand have to support the bulk of its weight.
Because the weight isn’t distributed, the small brush is unwieldy – too light to easily control regardless of how much pressure I attempt to push it with. I’m not a weakling, lol, but my arm gets tired FAST.
Secondly, there is no way to turn off the roller brush and use just suction on hard surfaces. I have to move really slowly in sweeping the hardwoods, or else the Shark spits crumbs and other debris out the back.
Moving slowly = holding the heavy motor/dust bin/handle for longer = even more tired hand/wrist/shoulder. Speaking of the roller brush, it clogs with dog hair and stops rolling after ONE pass over the 5×7 area rug in our seating area; I have to turn off the vacuum and cut the hair from the brush at least four times just in sweeping the one rug (we have two dogs, but I sweep every day, so I’m not asking it to vacuum a week’s worth of hair at once).
It’s VERY frustrating. More negatives about this Shark Rocket: 1. It doesn’t stand on its own. If I need to stop sweeping in the middle of the job for any reason, I have to lay the vacuum on the floor, or prop it up against a piece of furniture.
I still haven’t figured out how to store it. 2. The cord is also attached to the handle, and gets in the way of dumping the dust bin. 3. The attachments are difficult to use because they attach to the motor/dust bin/handle piece either directly or via a 12” hose, meaning I have to continue to hold the heaviest part of the vacuum while trying to manipulate the tools.
4. Though the brush part of the vacuum is small enough to adequately sweep the carpeted steps, I have to either lift the whole thing up, turn it backwards, and dangle the brush in front of the risers, or fight with the inconvenient and unwieldy attachments to get those areas.
I’d say it takes twice as long for me to sweep using this than it does the old, clunky Dyson – definitely not making my life easier. I actually hate this vacuum, and would have returned it after the first use had my husband not thrown out the box it came on.
Overall, we think the Shark vacuum is a great choice for luxury vinyl plank floors. It did a great job at picking up both large and small debris, and we loved how easy it was to maneuver. The only drawback is that it’s a bit on the heavy side, so if you have any issues with lifting, this might not be the vacuum for you.
