20 Best Shampoos And Conditioners For Dry Hair (2023 Updated)

This shampoo really works! I have just had chemotherapy and although I can’t claim that this shampoo stopped me from losing my hair altogether (the cold cap did that) this shampoo has definitely helped with the brittleness and dryness of the actual hair.

I have used KERASTASE Bain Satin 1 or 2 in tandem with the conditioner and/or mask for about 20 years. My son uses it on his chemically treated hair and it has stopped snapping off. This shampoo really does help with dryness and sensitised hair.

I had to share my review of this shampoo and conditioner after years of searching for a great product. A little background info, I have highlighted my hair (which I’d describe as straight, fine and definitely on the oily side around my forehead) for decades – I am 44 now and dry, brittle hair became a regular thing for me once I reached my 40’s.

Every time one shampoo/conditioner ran out, I tried another because nothing was worth a repurchase and the breakage continued. I’ve also tried many treatments and masks, from high-end to low, but just never found “the one”.

The Recovery set wasn’t something I found, it was something my stylist used on me on my last two highlight sessions. I honestly bought it for the smell most of all, because it would last a couple of days, and figured it was worth a shot for the other benefits.

I have been using the Recovery shampoo and conditioner for two weeks now and truly am amazed at the difference in my hair. I’m not expecting miracles after what I have put my hair through but this is the first time.

ever. I can recall feeling my hair and thinking “wow, that is REALLY soft”. It just feels so much healthier (and yes, the smell is wonderful and citrusy!) I will absolutely be purchasing this again and incorporate it into my regular hair routine!.

UNTILL NOW. After the very first wash with the conditioner, I got amazing results. A little amount goes a long way and gives full coverage. Once on my hair, I like to brush the conditioner through to make sure it gets right to the root.

With a lot of conditioners, the act of massaging it into my hair causes awful knots. Since using TiGi, this hasn’t happened once, It also smells BEAUTIFUL! The feel of my hair after it’s been blow dried is literally amazing.

I’ve even got little fly aways again at the front if my head when I put my hair up. An added bonus, it’s actually affordable. I literally can not recommend this product enough.

I’m quite disappointed that EVERY SINGLE review on this product was “promoted. ” I mean, come on Target. I’m a licensed Cosmetologist and got this conditioner along with the Bigger The Better Foam shampoo for my son who has very fine, straight hair to the middle of his back.

It’s super long and fine. Everything weighs it down, and he wants his hair to have “life” again. He uses a clarifying shampoo first, then uses this shampoo and conditioner. It allows him to use less of this product but great results.

The conditioner is perfect. It’s light enough to not weigh his hair down, but seals the moisture in where it’s needed. Be sure to only apply this conditioner to the ends and work it up through the midlengths to get the best results! Avoid the root area to preserve volume.

Love this! First tried it from a sample at my hairdresser’s and was thrilled with how little I had to use, how much of a lather it produced and the sweet smell. This was a great cost for the size – I also purchased the pump lid for it which makes using it much easier.

Will definitely purchase this and other products from this brand.

I’ve tried Kerastase and Kevin Murphy, Aveda. I honestly love this shampoo and conditioner the most (I use the Nutritive mask) for making my dry hair softer and hydrated. It’s also not as pricey as those ones.

I’m definitely going to be repurchasing. Only downside is my order took a while to come (I understand Aus Post is having delays).

I immediately opened the shampoo bottle when I got it to have a smell. It did not smell how I was expecting it to smell. It kind of smells piney like pine cones. Really earthy and herby. The smell also kind of reminds me of a nappy rash cream that comes in a white tube that I used on my kids.

Not pleasant. The smell does die down once the hair is dry and isn’t as strong but it’s still not nice. I then showered and washed my hair straight away using the shampoo and it is a thick consistency and a pale milky/creamy yellow colour.

I used a 50cent sized amount into the palm of my hands as I have shoulder length hair but it is super thick hair. I rubbed both of my hands together then applied it to my scalp and hair and worked it into a lather.

It foams up really well. I then rinsed my hair and it felt really clean but a little bit knotty as it usually does before conditioning and also was squeaky which I have never experienced before. My hair felt horrible and stripped.

I have now used the shampoo a few more times and so far my hair has had no improvements or change. I will continue to use the rest of the bottle and see how my hair goes. I have also used a hair dryer after using this product including the conditioner and leave-in treatment and my hair still feels really dry and frizzy.

It takes a bit longer to straighten too. The ends of my hair are really dry and my hair has never felt so bad. So far because of the smell of the product and the way it makes my hair feel I would not purchase this myself.

I do have course, thick, wavy, frizzy hair and I do straighten it but it does say on the back of the bottle that it is suitable for all hair types and textures. There is limited information on the bottle.

Most of it is in another language or it has a big list of ingredients. It does says it contains Aveda’s own pure-fume (meaning their own perfume) which contains certified organic ylang-ylang, rose, marjoram and other pure flower and plant essences.

I’ve also done separate reviews for the Conditioner and Leave-in treatment which are similar to this review. Same smell, feeling etc. It has a 100% post-consumer HDPE bottle which is recyclable. Shampoo has to be used with 24 months from opening.

The shampoo is made in the USA. I’m not sure who this shampoo would be ideal for because it says it’s for all hair types and textures but it left my hair feeling super dry and unmanageable.

I purchased this at an Aveda Institute after recommendation from a student there. I have been using this shampoo a couple times a week for a few months now and I have loved how it makes my hair feel, but I have noticed that my hair has started falling out in a lot larger amounts than before.

Im talking huge clumps every time I shower. I know it’s nothing hormonal because I recently had all my levels checked so the only thing I can think of is that it would be this shampoo. I thought it was a coincidence, but other reviews seem to have confirmed my suspicions.

Also, I am almost down to the end of the bottle and I noticed that the consistency of the shampoo has change into a cottage cheese-like texture. I also could not rinse it out of my hair and my hair felt stiff and greasy right after washing it.

I’m not sure if the product has gone bad but it’s the smallest bottle they have so it seems like it should have a longer shelf life than a few months. I love Aveda products, but this one seems to have caused me some problems.

I’ve tried every Aveda shampoo and conditioner combo since going natural, and my hair coils into itself in places and becomes tangled very easily.

The other shampoos and conditioners made my hair feel pine straw-like and tangled. I have been using Aveda for decades now, too, by the way. I love the company for the values they uphold, and the natural products they create.

I love too, how they have become interested in how to help women of color care for our natural hair, in particular. Many of us have gone natural and the videos by my favorite #AvedaItGirl and I saw one a few days ago by Renee, are what help me get to where I need to be with my styling techniques.

I tried other brands here and there over the years for a change, but I’m not satisfied until I come back to Aveda. Nope, I am not being paid for this review. I simply want everyone to know so that they continue making the Botanical line and the NutriPlenish line.

I purchased both full sized 384 ml bottles at my local Shoppers Drug Mart. After reviewing both products, and submitting my receipt, I will be reimbursed by Topbox Circle for the purchase of these two products.

I used this Shea Moisture Manuka Honey & Mafura Oil Intensive Hydration Shampoo for the past couple of weeks. I tend to shampoo my naturally wavy to curly hair every other day, and condition it less often, or as needed.

This Sulfate Free and Colour Safe Shampoo is made with Fig Extract and Boabab Oil to “Hydrate and Replenish Extra Dry, Damaged Hair”. I found this shampoo relatively thick in texture and so it was a bit hard to get out of the bottle.

Found myself having to squeeze the bottle, especially when the bottle was less full, to get the product out. The Conditioner comes in a pump bottle. This shampoo richly lathers and rinses off well. I experienced no irritation on my scalp or skin.

It felt gentle. The fragrance on the other hand is far too strong for me. I like the smell of figs and honey, but there’s a potent fragrance to this product. The scent is a bit too much. Shea Moisture is not my usual brand for hair products, but I wanted to try something new.

This shampoo left my hair perfumed, shiny, clean, and soft. My curls looked defined. I found the oils and/or conditioners in this product a bit too heavy for daily use (every second day use for me) but I would consider using Shea Moisture Manuka Honey & Mafura Oil Intensive Hydration Shampoo and Conditioner weekly, or as a hair treatment.

My hair used to be normal but after birth of my kids and developing thyroid problems my hair gets very very dry and rough. And look so damaged. Not every shampoo works for me. But I was so happy that after trying this shampoo, this became one of the products that works wonders for me.

This Shampoo is sulfate free and cruelty-free. It leathers well and leave a pleasant honey scent. The scent is a bit overpowering so if you are sensitive to strong smell then it will be a little irritating for you.

Other then that it works wonder. My hair felt soft and manageable but also note that this product will work if we use it with conditioner. I highly recommend this. Only problem I found that its a bit pricey and also I wish they make this shampoo bottle with pump dispenser like the one conditioner bottle has.

I bought this during Ulta’s liter sale along with the corresponding conditioner, and it’s wonderful! My hair is left feeling clean and easy to manage! The formula has a great scent and lathers well. I usually double wash , and this shampoo is perfect.

It doesn’t dry out my hair, and I really feel like its bringing moisture back into my hair. One thing to note is since I started using this formula, my hair dries STRAIGHT. I’ve had naturally , ringlet curly hair my entire life.

It’s very bizarre. I’m not sure if it’s because of this shampoo and conditioner, but I don’t use heat or any other product that is new. Definitely odd, but who knows!.

I decided to try a different brand so I went with this one due to high reviews. The smell is nice but unfortunately it makes my hair feel really greasy for some reason and weighs my hair down. I do have dry hair due to some previous damage but it just does not work for me.

I wash my hair and dry it instantly or let it air dry, both ways. hair feels greasy. I even shampoo twice and still the same. I am sure this works for many people, but for me unfortunately it does not.

I just wish I purchased the smaller size as now I have to find a new shampoo and conditioner.

i’ve been using this for about 3 maybe 4 months now and i’ve noticed a huge difference in my hair and NOT in a good way. my hair was falling out in clumps. i was leaving hair everywhere and on everywhere.

it was so depressing because i had no idea what it could be. i went out of town and didn’t bring any shampoo so i just used the hotel shampoo (neutrogena brand) and NONE of my hair fell off after and it even felt so much more alive.

i came back to read the reviews on this and it made so much sense. i haven’t used it again and my hair has little to no fall out. wish i could’ve realized it sooner 😔.

This is the set my husband always used on his hair. Great for shaving your neck. Keeping your line nice and clean. Keeping all the edges lined out nicely. Keeping your beard and mustache lined out and trimmed nicely.

Overall great set of clippers. Worth their money. They last forever.

I really liked using the trimmers and shapers for my fingernails! It’s everything that you would need to do it all for pretty nails! It is affordable and so easy to use! I will recommend this product to my friends and family!.

These are the best clippers I have owned by far. The blades stay sharp way longer than other brands and the motor is powerful enough to cut thick hair without moving at a snail’s pace. They are very easy to use.

I would buy them again and would recommend them.
