20 Best Shampoo For Toddlers With Thin Hair (2023 Updated)

LOVE this product for my toddlers curly hair. You can feel how nice it is as soon as you lather it up and the smell is 10/10. My daughters natural curls have been struggling and there’s a spot in the back of her head that’s a rats nest from the way she sleeps.

This product made a huge difference immediately, I’m so glad I can quit buying all these random kids leave in conditioners and trying new shampoos/conditioners. This is it for us. The smell is also nice for adults, not some weird fruity kid smell.

My tip is buying the set and then switching the lids from the shampoo/conditioner. The cap from this easily dispenses conditioner and the pump from the conditioner works better on the shampoo.

I’m an adult but I really love using this shampoo sometimes. I’m a sucker for all carrot-related beauty products. I wish you could smell the carrot more in this one but it still has a pleasant scent, albeit not a very strong one.

I can’t pick out any of the particular ingredients in the scent but I honestly have a pretty poor sense of smell. I don’t use this daily but it makes my hair incredibly soft and quite shiny too. The softness effect is super noticeable compared to any other shampoo I use.

The only reason I don’t use it more often is that it makes my super fine hair a bit static-prone. I save it for occasions when my hair is feeling a bit coarse or dry or it’s gotten a little greasy throughout the day from using other hair products.

It’s almost like a clarifying shampoo in that way as it just sort of feels like a hair reset. It has no weird extra ingredients and everything is natural so it would be ideal for babies but it’s great for anyone in my opinion.

The bottle has an ample amount and should last awhile even if you use it every day, so all around I feel like it’s a good buy and worth the price.

Wonderful! We noticed my 6 week old had some white dandruff flakes appearing and his scalp becoming dry. We jumped on it so it wouldn’t get worse and we tried olive oil and a brush but that didn’t help.

So we tried this shampoo plus the safety first wet brush that’s also for cradle cap and within just one use it was completely gone!! His scalp looks like the dandruff and dryness was never there! We did this shampoo, left it for 2 minutes, then used the brush as directed, then did the shampoo again and then rinsed and it was gone! Highly recommend these products in combination!.

Purchased for my babies cradle cap. We saw immediate results when using it along with Frida Baby Cradle Cap brush set. We used it on baby at every bath, every 2-3 days. I’d say cradle cap on my baby was moderate.

It did take time to completely vanish but unsure if it occurred naturally or if Mustella indeed helped. After a bath her scalp was clear and we would see it again the next day. Definitely be consistent with it, but if you are concerned speak to a pediatrician! After weeks, we didn’t see much of the cradle cap, only some dryness (when we stopped using Mustella) that eventually disappeared on its own.

I love that it’s foam and makes it easier to pump into your hand or directly onto babies hair. I liked that it doesn’t have a scent! I thought it would smell like chemicals but nope! I definitely recommend this!!.

This shampoo definitely works! My toddler had some stubborn cradle cap— it was mild, but her hair was prone to falling out where we tried to remove it (even with gentler home remedies), so we mostly left it alone.

I tested this shampoo on a small area of her scalp to make sure it wouldn’t cause her hair to fall out, and then committed to shampooing her whole head. I followed the directions carefully, and the flakes were so loose once I rinsed it out! Some scrubbing and combing later and her cradle cap is finally gone with no hair loss along the way!! Obviously every child is different, but I would say this shampoo is worth a try!.

It smells fricking phenomenal, where sometimes I get jealous cause my shampoo doesn’t even smell a fraction of that amazing ness. After we towel fry her hair, we use the leave in conditioner in this same line also, and the detangler when needed throughout the day.

I bought the shampoo, conditioner, and detangler on sale at Wegmans. I didn’t realize it was marketed towards the African American community. My daughter has long blonde hair that is prone to insane tangles and is very difficult to brush.

This shampoo and conditioner are INCREDIBLE. I didn’t even need to use detangler to brush her hair this morning after washing and conditioning. The quality is awesome, it smells wonderful, and I’m super impressed.

Sulfate free products are usually pretty expensive, but this was a great value. So glad I tried, I will be buying for our family moving forward. I would recommend they expand marketing since it’s so much better than the other children’s shampoo/conditioner on the market.

I used to swear by this conditioner (for years) for my daughter’s spiral curls. It was thick and left her hair soft and easy to manage. But somewhere along the way they changed the formula. It is nowhere near as thick as it used to be and doesn’t do anywhere near as good a job as it used to.

I’m so sad they changed it because it used to be amazing. I am now searching for something else.

Definitely the best children’s shampoo on the market. Supermarket brands are too harsh, & so many salon brands can be too perfumed, or not work well at all as they are too gentle! This has a pleasant soft “clean” fragrance.

Washes sweaty/sandy/paint-covered hair well. & best of all DOES NOT STING EYES! I have bought this several times for my toddler’s fine, curly hair. Always follow up with a conditioner & leave-in moisturising detangling spray.

If you have a little one at home, I strongly recommend you check this one out. The pH has been balanced so that it doesn’t cause any pain in the eyes and bathtime can be fun. It lathers quite well, and I was able to convince my little one that shampooing your hair doesn’t cause pain.

This is critical, as it will impact a child’s hygiene in the future. I was so happy that bathtime could be fun again and I absolutely love this product.

My 8 year old ASD son has been very sensitive to every other shampoo and washing his hair was truly heart wrenching and stressful. This shampoo doesn’t bother him at all. I now add a bottle to every baby shower gift I buy because there’s no better kid’s shampoo.

Expensive but you really only need a tiny bit so a bottle lasts a long time. The last 10oz bottle I got lasted almost 6 months and it’s used for 2 boys who take lots of showers. You literally need just a dab of it.

I don’t usually insist on more expensive brand name things – if I can find an off brand that works good enough I’ll use it but this is one item I’m definitely not changing.

I have been used other products as my son’s scalp was very dry. Doctor suggested one product which wasn’t suiting my kid. Then I switched to Sebamed and it worked like wonder. The dry scalp and the dry small flakes were gone after 10 days of usage.

Very good for baby! Quite quickly, after the first application, the crusts simply became smaller and they softened well + I combed them out after bathing. After the second application, they became even smaller.

Combed again, but I never used any oils before washing. They were completely gone by about 4-5 washes. After the third application, I no longer combed out anything. Even when they were gone, I still continued to wash the child with this shampoo to fix the result.

Mustela makes the greatest baby products. It’s pricier, but it’s worth it. Babies have the most sensitive skin. Mustela has worked wonders and cleared up everything from just ordinary run of the mill baby acne with the wonderful , to clearing up a pretty bad case of cradle cap magically after one use with.

I have no issues paying a bit more for any of these products, because they have worked wonders when it comes to soothing any redness, bump, diaper rash, or blemish that has appeared my little man since the day I brought him home.

The cleansing gel is as great as all their other products, it’s so gentle, has such a clean, simple smell, it smells exactly how you would want your baby to smell after a bath. I cannot praise this line of products enough, seriously if you have a baby, try these let me know if you love them as much as I do.

I got this not for lice but because of an explosion of oak mites in my locality – the mites seemed to love to accumulate on and bite the scalp area. This shampoo worked surprising well (hard to believe there’s nothing toxic in here!) in keeping the mites off my scalp but over the course of a few weeks I noticed I started to shed a lot of hair so I had to stop using it on my scalp, unfortunately.

Still use on the lengths of my hair but to reduced effect. My hair shedding lessened immediately as soon as I stopped using this on my scalp but a couple months out and I’m still working on regrowing what I lost.

I have health (thyroid) issues that make me prone to hair loss so this may not be the case for everyone. The shampoo also leaves a residue that builds up on and changes the texture of hair, but it goes away after washing hair with a regular shampoo.

As school returns, you can never be too careful when it comes to your kids. We all know that the thought of lice sends chills down our spines, causing paranoia and itching. This quickly helps with my anxiety.

Furthermore, while it hasn’t smelled the best, it has worked so far! Her hair is soft also. We’ve used it for her first year in school, and she’ll be using it this year also. It lathers well and rinses well, and it doesn’t cost much! I have not had problems with lice , and none of my children have had it or caught it while other kids had it at school.

My son has very kinky, curly hair and as anyone with that hair type knows – you cannot brush it out when it’s dry. It has to be wet or damp. So, it would take me about 30 – 40 mins to give him a bath.

30 mins of literally brushing his hair out. (He has 3a curls) But I got this detangler today so I skipped brushing his hair out during his bath and immediately put this in once he was out and dressed.

Oh my god, this is such a lifesaver! I sprayed about 5 spritz all over his head and went to work. Literally within 5 mins, his hair was knot free and so much softer than without it! It also didn’t disrupt or mess with his curl pattern, which was something I was really worried about considering I love his curls.

My back and hands are grateful for this detangler! I highly recommend it.

I love this product. My daughter has straight hair but it’s really thick and have a hard time helping her style it. We use this along with another product to style it. It does leave a little bit of residue when I apply too much so I’ve been moderating it so that doesn’t happen.

Other than that she loves the smell (not too strong) and likes how it leaves her hair (soft). As other review listed, target packaged items perfectly so there are no spills which makes it easier to purchase.

My local Target runs out really fast so it’s added convenience.

This is thee best detangler I have ever used. My girls have really thick curly Polynesian hair and they would cry every time I had to comb their hair. Ever since getting this I no longer get resistance from them.

All it takes is 3-5 pumps for half the head and literally within the next 2/3 glides of the brush it will magically detangle. We call it “The Magic Spray” haha because it really works in a pinch. Hopefully this won’t sell out or I will have to resort to Google to hunt it down.

It has a grapefruit, calendula extract, quinoa protein and jojoba oil to cleanse and smooth and strengthen my children’s hair.

Johnson’s lotion is absolutely the best. I love this lotion. It goes on so smooth and creamy and smells wonderful. Works great. I love it. It worked so well on my feet. Which were callas. I creamed some on my feet and it only took 3 applications, it made a world of difference.

Worked excellent. It goes on so smooth and creamy, and feels so wonderful on my skin. The smell is so light and the smell lasts and it just smells really great. My boyfriend just loved the clean fresh smell of it on my skin.

I will continue to buy and use this product. I will definitely tell all my friends all about this lotion and definitely get all my friends to try mine and see what a wonderful experience they will get from it.

Absolutely love it. Seriously speaking from experience, there is nothing like it, nothing better than Johnson’s Moisturizing Lotion and the Johnson’s body wash. I’ve found that no other lotion works as well as this product.

The Johnson’s Skin Nourish Vanilla & Oat Wash was a lovely little product to use. The aroma of vanilla was intoxicating and mesmerizing! It was easy to dispense the product onto my wash cloth! It takes a long time for the body wash to lather up on my wash cloth (almost 30 seconds).

I also have to pump out a generous amount of the product just to even get a decent enough lather on the wash cloth. I have to repeat this process 3 – 4 times just to get my body completely washed / cleansed, which is something I do NOT enjoy! The packaging is beautiful and I love the fact that it can be locked down by simply twisting it! The scent does not last long on my skin (less than 1 hour).

I can barely smell it on my skin after showering, which means it is weak and unreliable! Overall, I will not be purchasing this product for future use!.

Did you know that you can wash your eyes out with this and it won’t burn ? I was going through a breakup a while back and had stayed in bed for a week crying. My eye swelled up and I had to go to the doctor for it.

I had an infection in my eye from crying. A tear duct got blocked and it lead to infection. The dr said it was from rubbing my eyes. So I got medicated eye drops and was told to wash my eye out with baby shampoo.

I thought the dr was nuts but I did as he said and to my suprise it didn’t burn. So I started googling baby shampoo and I now use it as a face cleanser sometimes when my face is irritated and also as a feminine wash.

It’s much cheaper than feminine wash and I feel it does a better job of cleaning me. So yes I would recommend this product for multiple uses.

You know, for a while we wanted to do the right thing by buying more modern products. However, despite promising not to irritate the eyes, those other products did bother my 3 year old. It got to the point where he would refuse to let me wash his hair! I remember growing up with this product as a child, and decided to give it a try.

Lo and behold, despite my kid’s initial refusal to let me wash his hair, I was able to do it and he is no longer complaining about the soap bothering his eyes (but he’s still bothering about the water going into his nose.

I guess you can’t win all battles!!). So for now and until my kid’s older and can tolerate regular shampoos, this is going to be our shampoo of choice!.

This is our favorite shampoo for our 3 year old! Our son has extremely sensitive/dry skin. And we were finding that his scalp was getting a little flaky. I really thought all baby shampoos were the same, till I found this one! It has a nice, fruity scent and lathers into a rich foam.

It really cleans his hair AND his scalp. Plus, once the hair is dry, it’s sooooo shiny! Even my husband noticed a difference, which is saying something! I can’t imagine what it’d do for our long haired babies!😍 highly reccomend.
