20 Best Shampoo For Normal To Oily Hair (2023 Updated)

I have extremely fine and thin hair. Therefore I use a lot of product in my hair. Two when it’s wet and a colored powder on the scalp when it’s dry and then finish off with hairspray, ( you know the kind of hairspray, a hurricane wouldn’t move it).

Regular shampoo cannot get all this stuff out of my hair. I have used clarifier shampoos before, so I was skeptical. But, what the heck. First the citrus smell hits you, which makes you feel energetic.

Then the fantastic lather. I use this before my regular shampoo. the the cleanse that it gives and the smell too makes it great. It doesn’t tear my hair out or break it. This is why I will continue to use Shampoo Two.

I bought the Paul Mitchell shampoo, it was recommended to me by a family friend, anyway I have both an oily scalp and the ends of my hair can get very dry, maybe due to overstyling, anyway I used this shampoo many times and it helped regulate my oily scalp, yet it didn’t dry my hair especially the end.

I did read the ingredient list and was pleased to see that it contained both a wheat protein (keratin) derivative and lemon, refreshing and a natural treatment for oily hair. I could tell the difference when comparing this Paul Mitchell shampoo and the so many brands out there, unfortunately I had to try a few, which ended to be good so that I could write this review from my personal experience and not just from other people’ s experience since everyone has different hair and therefore different hair concerns and therefore different opinions.

This product is great for oily hair! I have an oily scalp and have wax buildup from the Aussie shampoos. This was making my hair extremely stringy and waxy, making my hair feel dirty within 24 hours.

I tried the tea tree oil Paul Mitchell shampoo and although it did seem to clear up some buildup, it made my scalp really itchy. The Shampoo Two isn’t thick so I had to use three or four pumps to massage my entire scalp.

The lady at Ulta also recommended I leave the product in for a minute or two which was great advice! My hair isn’t stringy nor is it waxy! You can still tell there’s buildup on my scalp, but I’ve only used this product for a day; so far so good.

My scalp is still a little bit itchy, but I’m hoping if I use this product consistently for a few weeks that might go away. All in all, if nothing is working for you try this shampoo. I have a sensitive scalp and thick wavy hair and this stuff seems to do the trick.

If you have wavy hair or curly hair I would also recommend using a wide tooth comb for your hair when you get out of the shower so it limits the amount of hair coming out as you brush it.

I was super excited about this Vox Box! I have extremely dry and damaged hair from a few too many bleaches too close together to go from magenta to bright turquoise colored hair in a short period of time! The ingredients are ingredients.

I’m not one who is super concerned with ingredients; I’m more of a “does it work?” kind of person. The initial smell of the shampoo reminds me of sweet tarts. I actually almost thought about eating it.

Of course, it’s shampoo though and I’m an adult that knows better. I really enjoyed the lather of this shampoo as a little bit goes a long way, even when my hair typically sucks up anything I put in it immediately and I have to use two-three times the product.

I really didn’t notice too much of an effect on my hair when shampooing alone. It did feel a bit more moisturized before I conditioned it whereas other shampoos tend to just leave my hair feeling clean and stripped of moisture.

Overall, as part of a shower routine (I do not wash my hair daily), that includes the matching conditioner, leave-in balm, and once-a-week treatment, I noticed a big improvement in my hair with less flyaways (I have a bunch of broken hair so flyaways are EXTRA on me) and softer to the touch and so therefore, by the order of myself, I recommend this product for those who have dry hair!.

I have fine wavy colored treated hair. I wash, condition, and apply leave-in conditioner every 2-3 days. I apply the hair mask just once a week. This is a great shampoo and an essential for extremely dry hair.

What I love is that the shampoo has a heavy conditioning component already, so when used with the various conditioners you get this double infusion of moisturizer. The Biolage Ultra Hydra Source formula seems to coat and seal the hair, so it is super manageable while smelling like a tropical paradise.

When I put the product on my hair, my hair just soaked it in. I have never had a conditioner do that before and when I rinsed it out, my hair was like silk. Biolage will most definitely be stay as a staple in my shower!.

I absolutely LOVE the SuperZero Shampoo Bar!!! I was a little hesitant to believe that a shampoo that looks like a little bar of soap would actually lather up like regular shampoo or that it would clean my hair well enough without drying it out, but I was wrong.

It really does lather up just as much as any other shampoo which is a big deal to me because I never feel like my shampoo is doing it’s job unless it lathers up well. And it really doesn’t take much to get a good lather and wash all my hair.

I have really long hair and I thought it would be kind of confusing or difficult to use and get it throughout my entire head but it was so simple to use. You literally treat your head/hair like you would treat your hands when you wash them with a bar of soap.

And the results are amazing! From the very first time I used it, my hair actually felt cleaner & softer and looked shinier. My hair was so soft both wet & dry that I couldn’t stop running my fingers through it! I like to have 3-4 different shampoos in my collection and I rotate thru them switching them up about every 2 weeks.

This keeps my hair from getting too ‘use’ to any one product so that it keeps my hair always looking it’s best and now this shampoo bar has a permanent place in my Shampoo Rotation Set. I really can’t say enough good things about this SuperZero Shampoo Bar.

I bought this shampoo on a whim when looking to change from my normal shampoo. I loved the lack of palm oil etc It’s easy to use and produces a lot of lather easily! I use this everyday as that’s just my normal hair care routine.

I think it has improved it. With the liquid shampoo my hair was more difficult to work with and I swear I was losing more hair. I get more volume and my natural waves form a lot easier despite that not being the main reason I purchased it.

I even gifted one to my mother, she loved it as well. It’s almost been two months and I am not quite at the point of needing to reorder. It would certainly last longer with less frequent washing schedules.

I’m going to be completely honest here- I’m absolutely blown away at the Superzero Shampoo Bar for normal/oily hair! I’m very picky about shampoo because my hair is pin straight and THICK, and this bar passed all tests with flying colors! For starters, it smells so fresh, natural and wonderful.

There is no artificial scent here and it leaves my hair smelling great until my next wash. Again, the scent is totally natural so it didn’t leave my eyes itchy and watery. I’m TOTALLY obsessed with the lather! The bar itself fits very well in my hand.

It has something (that reminds me of Rice Krispies but totally are not!) inside that makes it stay in your hand and not fly all over in the shower. I was able to work a very nice, generous lather through my hair quite easy and with minimal effort! I was worried my hair would get very tangled in the lather process, but it didn’t at all.

To be fair, I used this bar at a few different times. When my hair was just a few days dirty, when my hair was just gross and past due for a wash, and when my hair had such a massive buildup of product that even though it was clean, it looked gross.

This bar got every stage of dirty hair nice and clean without leaving any buildup behind. It also left my scalp healthy as well. I’m also using this bar right now with color treated hair and I’m not noticing any issues with color fading.

This may be due to the fact that there are no sulfates or plastics to ruin the color. The bar lasts quite a few washes too, which is suprising considering its size. My 9yo daughter is also using the bar now to wash her hair.

She loves it because it’s “super fun”. I love it because her hair and scalp look great and she is actually getting her hair really clean without a buildup of product! Bottom line- Superzero Shampoo Bars are AMAZING! I love how easy they are to use and how great they leave our hair.

This shampoo bar helps keep my hair tame and not flying all over. **If you have kids that wash thier own hair, please order an extra for them! The kids do so well using these and it gets their hair so clean! They really like them!.

I purchased this hoping it would comfort my irritable scalp and it has! The fragrance is a pleasing minty herbal scent and I like it very much. This shampoo may not be best for dry hair types – the success of any product is in choosing the correct formula for your hair type.

I will use this several times a week along with the conditioner. Very pleased.

Great shampoo with essential oils which gives you the natural aroma rather than synthetic perfume. It offers the scalp a fresh tingling sensation which is perfect during warmer days. Take note that it contains SLS if you are strictly concerned about that.

This is also the reason I rate it 4 stars instead of 5. With this price tag L’Occitane should be able to replace the SLS with a better alternative. The fragrant notes are more on the minty and citrusy side so if you are looking for something floral and conditioning I find Intense Repairing Shampoo is great.

But they are for different needs anyway.

My hair is extremely thick and prone to frizz on the daily and I’ve struggled to find products that keep every layer feeling moisturised and smooth. Enter the Purifying Shampoo the most divine peppermint-scented shampoo I’ve ever used.

I’m guessing the magic is in the oils because my hair has never felt better! As mentioned in a previous review a little does go a long way and the bottle lasted me months before I purchased the Eco-Refill.

I have used the Aromachologie hair products for years. When my intensive repair shampoo and condition were used up, I tried the nourishing care shampoo and conditioner to find them disappointing. I bought a duo last year, they still sit on my bathroom shelf.

They weigh down my hair and do not detangle. I avoid using them but feel reluctant to throw them away because they are expensive. They may be suitable for other people but not for me. Please bring back the intensive repair conditioner refill!.

I was hesitant at first as the consistency is thin, not thick and my hair needs major nourishment. But after a couple of weeks the texture of my hair was so much healthier. My hair. would probably be white (not ready to go there), is coarse, very thick, curly/wavy and super dry (due to coloring & the gray factor), so I truly needed nourishing.

Tried the intensive care & it only made it too soft & a fly-away look. Love this conditioner. Still needs to use essential oils afterwards for shine.

This is the best shampoo in the world. It’s the only vegan shampoo that keeps my hair shining since the very first use. I’ve even used it with no conditioner as it left it extremely soft and moist. My hair length is past my waist and it looks healthy and shiny.

I LOVE this shampoo and strongly recommend.

I have suffered with itchy, flakey scalp for as long as I can remember (at least 13 years) and having tried everything nothing worked so I just gave up. I used the Aveda Shampure and although this calmed my scalp down, it never actually helped solve the problem.

Until one day when this shampoo was on offer. I thought what have I got to lose. Best decision I made, as this has completely got rid of my itchy, flakey scalp. I stock up on this shampoo like no tomorrow as I cannot be without it.

When even I try using another shampoo my symptoms come and when I use this one again, my scalp is soothed after one wash. Try it!!.

Wouldn’t buy this again. Didn’t notice any difference and I don’t recommend for bleached hair. I used this on newly bleached hair and it really dulled the colour. I went back to using my Davines shampoo and after reading about shampooing your hair twice, this actually got rid of any dry skin on the scalp.

So may be worth people using their ordinary shampoo and just repeating the process?.

I have been looking everywhere for a shampoo for my daughters hair that will give her more time between washes. Her hair gets too oily too quickly for her age. (6) mine was also always the same. After trying a lot of shampoos.

I bought this. Even while drying our hair I noticed a huge difference. no residue at all. The next morning her hair still looked very clean. Normally looks dull and lifeless. Delighted with this shampoo.

Excellent product. Richly sudsing, so little is needed for each shampoo (i. e. , value far exceeds price!). Paired with companion conditioner (also very rich and thick) the results are fully supported by product claims: lovely, radiant hair which feels and looks amazing!.

I have used Nisim Shampoo for years. In about 2 weeks I noticed my hair was not falling like before around my dressing area, floor or clogging my shower drain cover. Exactly as I was assured by my hairdresser, very thin and balding areas along my front hairline began filling in with tiny new hair growth! Then my hairdresser of 35+ years passed away and I learned the local distributor of Nisim could no longer bring the product in from Australia.

My hair starting falling again and I was miserable until my new hairdresser suggested I try eBay. Hooray! I got my first very large bottle. My hair and follicles are again washing super clean and hair stopped falling.

New hair should be sprouting real soon. Give it a try – there is a small bottle that you can order.

It is a shame Nisim discontinued this conditioner. I have been using it for over a decade. It is a very clean and soothing conditioner that is oil free. It leaves your hair feeling light and healthy.

I am going to miss this product.

Avendo capelli sottili e grassi con cute irritata, me li lascia lucidi con un effetto volume (non vi aspettate stile Caparezza!), e disciplina un po’ il capello, ma la combo perfetta è con il suo balsamo.

Il risultato lo vedrete dopo qualche utilizzo. Vi consiglio di diluirlo un po’ affinché riusciate a distribuirlo meglio.

Funziona bene ( forfora scomparsa) , unica pecca riscontrata è che, dopo un pò di tempo, tende ad irritare il cuoio capelluto! Io personalmente non ho avuto nessun problema con i prodotti che uso ormai da due anni ( shampoo delicato, balsamo rivitalizzante, latte detergente dermopurificante pelli sensibili, latte corpo).
