20 Best Shampoo For Indian Hair In Usa (2023 Updated)

I feel like I must be using a completely different product from others. I actually bought the shampoo and conditioner because I thought they smelled so fantastic. I have fine, but dense, wavy hair that is about bra strap length.

I only wash my hair once a week because is isn’t particularly oily, but due to the length and fine strands, heavy products can weigh it down. My hair is incredibly prone to tangles. I bought the shampoo formulated for fine hair because I figured the strand thickness was more important than the density and texture.

Boy, was I wrong! I have noticed “volumizing” shampoos and conditioners in the past have caused my hair to be extra dry and tangly, but this isn’t listed as a volumizing shampoo. The shampoo leaves my hair incredibly tangled, even with the gentlest sudsing and scalp massage.

And it takes nearly 1/4 bottle of the conditioner to even come close to detangling the mess the shampoo has made. Even then, I feel like I’m literally ripping my hair out to get all the tangles and knots out, and my hair is still really dry.

Maybe I should have tried the shampoo/conditioner for medium hair, but I know these particular products were a complete waste and totally useless. I haven’t been impressed with the curl cream, wave spray, air dry foam, and especially not the rose hair oil, either.

The products smell fantastic, but they just don’t work for my hair.

I can say it feels great in the shower, has a fine lather and the matching conditioner gives a nice slip/detangle. A lot of sulfate free shampoos feel weird, this feels fantastic, lathers just enough but not a lot.

The scent is very santal which a lot of people love, I don’t particularly like santal but even I think this shampoo scent is bearable. I noticed my long fine hair does dry nicely, the conditioner really helps with tangles.

But my roots look unwashed and weighed down. I gave it several more tries, even tried rinsing and repeating the shampoo – but the oil only accumulated. I also noticed my body and face breaking out. This shampoo and matching conditioner both contain oil and that’s probably the issue.

If you have dry/coarse hair and not prone to breakouts, this will probably be wonderful for you, I’d recommend it. If you have fine hair that’s limp or you’re acne prone, I’d pass and try looking elsewhere.

I have nice but thick, frizzy hair, all my life, and a Brazilian Blowout really helps tame my hair; every summer, I’m in the ocean as often ass possible, so I only do it twice a year. This year, I just never got there for the second BB, and it’s not worth it for a month before I’m in the water a lot again, so I found this shampoo, conditioner, and the leave in conditioner.

It’s wonderful, and for the price, the amount of which seems ridiculously expensive, I quickly learned I only need a dime’s worth to cover my whole head and hair lightly. My hair is at shortest 17″ from my scalp with an undercut.

I’m 60 and my always wavy/frizzy hair has turned largely white and more frizzy over the last decade. The BB is about three times the cost of a bottle of each, the shampoo and conditioner. At the rate I use it, I only need a bottle every three months – 4 times in a year.

If it maintains as a wonderful product for me, it’s cheaper to buy this than have the blowouts – so that’s my test – I’m giving it a year. At first? Really, really good!.

First off, let me say that the plastic/foil part under the lid is pert near impossible to get off. I had a horrible time. The shampoo is very thick, but lathers well. The conditioner is very softening.

Normally scents don’t “stick” to my skin or hair, but this scent does. It’s almost too perfumy though. It smells good, but it’s awful strong. I don’t notice any difference in the appearance or feel of my hair though.

I like the shampoo and conditioner, but it works just as well as the cheaper stuff.

I used to just use the Suave Keratin and moroccan oil shampoo/ conditioner for color treated hair. They quit selling the color treated versions, which is lower in sulfate, so I started using the regular suave with high sulfates.

Sulfates are horrible for your hair, especially if it is color/ bleach treated and my hair ends had completely dried out. Most shampoos could not clean out my roots without drying my hair out. My hair is fine in texture, but thick in that there is a lot of hair, so it is very easily tangled.

I tried many different redken sets to no avail. I recently bought It’s a 10 shampoo and conditioner with Keratin. The conditioner didn’t really do anything for me, and at first I shampooed, conditioned, and though it was still better than my redken experience, it still left a few slightly greasy spots in the back of my head.

I started using Hask Keratin deep conditioning hair mask before shampooing, which has also really helped as far as my ends and detangling goes, but realized that I needed to shampoo a little after. Any shampoo that does not have sulfate is far better for your hair, but does not lather well.

This brand of shampoo actually lathers much better than redken, or my attempt to use formulate and other non-sulfate shampoos. This is pretty important for those of us with thick hair that is easily tangled.

One tip if helpful: instead of lathering starting from the top and running my fingers through the back of my head and the underneath layers, I had to add a seperate pump or two to the underneath of the back and scrub up.

For those that try this shampoo once and thought that it left some oil/ grease, try this and shampoo after conditioning. Once I changed this part of the routine, my hair finally felt clean AND hydrated!!!! I have hardly had to brush my hair after using this shampoo.

Another unexpected benefit is that I can now go up to three(!!!) days of not washing my hair and it still feels as clean as the first day.

I really like this shampoo and conditioner. It’s a shame so many people left 1 star reviews because it just didn’t work for them. It would be different if there was something wrong with customer service or the product itself.

However, with skin care, nail care, and hair care so much of whether or not it’ll work for you is left biology and body chemistry and you have to try different products to find the one that works with yours.

So it’s really unfair to leave negative reviews on products that don’t match up with your unique chemistry.

They were serious when they put volume on that bottle. Its so good. The lather is perfect. Its very light an foamy it doesn’t feel like its gonna be heavy on your hair at all. Which is exactly what you need to get the full affect of volume.

Very satisfied with my purchase. I get compliments alot lately since I’ve been using. I have very straight, long down to my butt hair. So that alone is horrible receipe for voluminous hair. But nope this really helps.

Dove is amazing! I’ve used very expensive shampoos and conditioners in the past and I can honestly say that dove is my favorite. It keeps my hair feeling extremely clean for a few days. I noticed with other shampoos my hair will start to look unclean just after a day.

I also love how cheap dove is! You really can’t go wrong with any of the products. Even just using their bar soap to clean your face works better than most other cleansers.

I started use this products couple years ago. I have a curly hair and I love how my hair curly up when is dry. The amber aroma is so wonderful ( my daughter does not like at all) that relax me. Also I used the curly cream, sometimes the dry oil.

Etc.

I use this product especially when I notice my hair drier than normal. Since it carries argan oil and if I have a season with oily hair, I do not do well. for good use, it must be rubbed on the hands before applying, otherwise the hair is very close to the scalp.

Not gonna lie, I was skeptical that a natural shampoo could work on my hair. My hair has been through it all over the years and had its share of problems. Lately it’s mostly oily roots and very dry ends with a ton of frizz in between.

So I didn’t think this would do more than leave my hair flat and oily. But was I wrong, not only has it restored my hair to a total healthier way it leaves my hair smelling amazing! It lathers very well and rinses leaving my scalp feeling so clean.

My hair doesn’t hold a ton of water like before and I’ve noticed my hair even dries faster. My hair looks so Shiney, nourished and healthy. I have less flyaways and it looks sleeker, but not weighed down.

Plus it hasn’t made my hair oily either. I will definitely be switching to this as my main shampoo now!.

The shampoo smells like some sort of lotus flower. The fragrance of cloves in it is very faint, although it does feel a bit cooling on the scalp while shampooing. I was very happy with how it left my hair shiny and squeaky clean but not to the point of stripping all moisture.

I think I prefer this brand, particularly this line over Shea moisture now. It calmed the frizz and also lent some curl definition with shine. I wash my hair everyday and I was looking for a gentle shampoo to use everyday.

I think this is the shampoo I was looking for. I have only used the shampoo conditioner duo once since buying them from Target. I will update my review in case it doesn’t live up to my expectations after a few washes.

The price point is good, at 6. 99$ per bottle. It should last me a few months at least.

This product has such a beautiful scent and is perfect for my hair! The suds spread and lather well, leaving my hair beautifully clean. The scent is mild and doesn’t bother my sensitive smell. It helps sooth my generally dry scalp, which I am very satisfied with.

At first yes it does feel super greasy and oily after a couple of washes. But with some research, your hair is “detoxing” from all the bad stuff that was left in your hair built up from years of bad shampoo brands.

I trusted the process and after the 3rd or 4th wash, my hair felt sooo healthy and shiny and the smell is amazing ! This is my first time finally taking care of my hair and switching to an almost all natural product.

It has been 6 months that I started using this cowash. I had tried other top selling cowashes and always came back to this one. Yes the smell can be strong at first but if you have scalp smell this helps.

My hair is 3B curly and extremely damaged when I first started using this. I have damage from coloring my hair and hormonal change after having 2 kids. I am in my late 30s and have had a journey with this change.

You have to section your hair to place it onto your scalp. It has a lotion like texture. Once you have rubbed it into your scalp you can brush it down to ends with your fingers. It it VERY conditioning as well.

So if you think about it, the cost of it is well worth it if you dont need to buy separate conditioner. I use this everyday since I go to the gym and sweat too much that I can not use a blow dryer/dry shampoo on a soaked sweaty scalp- that would be gross.

I highly recommend this and haven’t found anything that can beat it for my hair type.

Coming out of the shower, my hair felt drier/more tangled. But after it dried it felt soft. I do also appreciate that there’s some good ingredients in here. That said, i just cannot look past the SMELL.

Now I generally have a terrible sense of smell, so fragrances don’t usually bother me bc I don’t notice them much. When i opened the bottle in the shower, I didn’t like the smell very much but I figured it would just wash out anyway.

But dear lord I’m sitting through work the next morning and every time my hair moves I get hit with the nauseating smell. It’s not a “bad” smell, I’m sure some people would like it. But it’s definitely overpowering, so if you don’t like the fragrance or if you just don’t like having a strong scent to your hair, then this is a goner.

I give stars for the ingredients, the moisture, and the fact that *some* people might enjoy the scent/how intense it is. But I take 2 away because it’s personally way too overpowering and it made my hair tangled after the shower.

I am caucasian with 3 A/B hair and have used a lot of cowash products over the last 10 years. I like how rich this one is. It is thick and creamy and it does not take as much product to work it though my hair.

It works well with my leave-in curl products and my hair feels moisturized, more so than a few recent other cowash products I tired. Taking off one star for how overpowering the scent is. It does smell good but it is intense and lingers on your hair.

By the next day a lot of it had dissipated, which is good. I’m not a fan of how strong the scent is, but otherwise I like this is a great (and affordable) cowash.
