Best Shadow Ho Oh Counters (2025 Updated)

I found 3 major overlooked issues and 2 minors. 1. The front panel light and RGB fans where not on when system powered up. Nor could I get them to turn on with the on/off RGB button. The problem was not that they didn’t have power; either RGB button, I/O panel or cables were bad or circuit was open.

I did my own troubleshooting by following the fan power cables to where they all connected. I found that the 5pin mini power connector was disconnected to the front panel. Once I connected it and powered the system back on.

All was working, which means that 5pin mini is a jumper to close the circuit. I am so glad it was not RGB button, I/O panel, broken or cut cables. As a tech I know these are a pain in the behind to find.

Hot glue would probably melted the 5pin mini connector. 2. The 3700X retail processor comes with Wraith Prism RGB heatsink/fan. Why was this off brand “Cooler One” put in? Its a 5/6 LED light base with whitish/clear fan that only changes into 3 color modes.

The only choices I had from PolyChromeSync were Random, Wave and Rainbow. I did get the Static color mode to turn on once before the PolyChromeSync software update. I would have rather seen the Wraith Prism RGB ring heatsink/fan in place then this $15 fan.

Which I could only find on that other site as non-RGB type. 3. Advertisement on Newegg site was a 1TB NVMe SSD and what was given was a 1TB SATA SSD. Checking the system history in Device Manager shows there was Gen4 NVMe attach at one point.

So either QA removed it or Newegg does not have the right information to put on the site from Skytech. The downgrade of SATA read/writes/random/IOPs vs NVMe is way lower. NVMe is about 2000-3000MB/secs read/write/randoms and about 500,000 IOPs compared to 80,000 IOPs.

Even a lower grade NVMe stick is faster then SATA SSD. Price comparison is $20 less. But when you say NVMe is in system and get something else “I the consumer/customer feel cheated!” If anyone wants to check comparisons: wdc 1tb sata ssd vs wdc nvme sn550 ssd.

**Update** Contacted Newegg about what was advertise and what was actually sent. After a few emails I was refunded the cost difference. Instead of having to send the whole unit back. Thank you NewEgg for allowing this a an option.

4. A minor issue and does not reflect performance of the computer. Keyboard bump keys are left index finger F and right index finger J. Who creates one right index finger K? Skytech apparently. I kept goofing the spelling my own name and I had to go back to my Magegee keyboard.

I did not want to relearn what took me almost 20 years to perfect in typing because of one letter off. It also goofs you up on the letters above and below that row. Same goes for the gaming mouse it felt unnatural so I unconnected and reconnected my magegee mouse.

Not even Canadian keyboard layout keys have K as the right index finger! 5. Another minor issue and does not reflect performance. One of the front Ringed RGB top fan housing has slight vibration noise when computer is first turned on.

If I tap the top grill a little bit, noise will go away and continues to be silent after that. I guess this is acceptable being refurbished computer. All in all not a bad system just a lose connection, choice on processor heatsink/fan, 1 bad advertisement of SSD (**been refunded), molding of keyboard key bump on K not J and one vibrating housing of RBG fan.

This system should have been right around $1200 not what was asked. I cant really change out anything as the warranty does not cover changing of parts thus breaking the seal. One thing I can say is, I as technician would have never let this leave testing bench knowing these issues, New or Refurbished.

While the keyboard isn’t the highest of quality, it’s still a deal and a half for this computer. It’s fast to boot up and load into games because of its SSD, The glass swinging door is extremely useful for maintenance, nd the LEDs work great.

The cord management is really clean, and the cherry on top for me was the graphics. I reccomend using this computer on a 1440 monitor. The CPU is slightly older than the GPU, but they still work well together.

If the CPU can run tarkov this well, It’s a pretty solid unit. I would definitely reccomend this to anyone who needs a good gaming rig (With plenty of room for future upgrades).

I would rate this higher if I could. I commented on this under one of the yarns as clicking on the name didn’t work. I have tried several differnt row counters (on the needle, around the neck, and push button).

The only one that didn’t let me down was one of the push buttons, but it kept getting lost. Around the neck ones didn’t always advance when button pushed. This one has been in use for over a week and still works great.

It hasn’t fallen off my finger and it retains last row number when I put my knitting away for the night. I love it. Price was very reasonable.

This product, unfortunately, fails on many levels. 1. I would assume this product would have been designed for women. however, I am a woman with average-sized fingers (ring sizes 5-7) and this device is way too big for any of my fingers on the smallest setting and even if I cut the strap to be able to use it, it adjusts every 8mm.

so it’s either too tight or too loose. To give some perspective, whole ring sizes 5,6,7, etc increase by 3mm for each size. so 8mm increases means your finger is turning blue, or this thing is sliding all over the place.

Also, no human’s finger would this fit on the biggest settting, so there was no need to make it this big. 2. there is no way to decrese the stitch count if you accidentally bump it which leads to. 3.

It’s too easy to bump and mess up the count. There should at least be a sound so you’d maybe be aware you bumped it. The button needs to be a little harder to press or have a way that you wouldn’t be able to accidentally bump it.

4. mine came with a weird stain on it. Maybe someone returned it. I will as well. Don’t waste your money.

This is the handiest little gadget that I didn’t even know I needed – until I bought it and started using it. It makes crocheting pattern rows in large projects so easy to keep up with. No more having to mark the completed rows down on paper.

This counter never loses count. Even days or weeks later it’s still accurate. I love it!.

Beautiful looking great quality I used it on top of my washer/dryer. It gave my small kitchen a bit more counter space and its beautiful.

Used this countertop for my kitchen island. I love it! Gives a break from overdoing the granite and provides a warm feel for my kitchen. Nothing but compliments!

Ordered this top with the Varnique finish option. The finish on the top surface is very good, with one tiny little bubble. However, the finish on the two end-grain edges is not good. It has runs and drips.

Perhaps the assumption is that this block would be surrounded on the sides by other countertop material, but my application is more like an island.

I bought this to replace the cheap builder counter top for my kitchen island. I looked around for months but could not find anything that would fit the dimensions of the island. And the cost was beyond my budget.

This fit the bill literally. It’s a Boos Board so you know it’s quality. It had a gash on one side but the other side was perfect. Global also branded one of the edges with their logo so that had to be sanded.

After sanding the good side, using a router to put a pencil edge on the top portion and finally sealing it with Waterlox Original, it looks amazing. Lastly, shipping was super fast. From Georgia to Texas in two days! Three days total from order to receipt.

I believe in honest reviews, so I can’t tell you my food tastes better, or that it has turned my life around. Fundamentally, its just a piece of wood. A beautiful, finely crafted piece of wood. It’s solid and was cut exactly to my specifications.

It’s so nice, I’m not allowed to cut on it! It now has me thinking of remodeling the whole kitchen so I can replace the rest of the counters and let the beauty of the wood shine. It shipped a few days late, but still arrived on schedule, in time to make a good Christmas present.

The maple in the countertop I received had a large amount of variation. I expected the pieces used to be more similar. It doesn’t match other Boos block used on this job.

The gorgeous countertop arrived early but broken. It split in half along one of the glue joints during shipping. They have promised a replacement, and I look forward to changing my 1 star rating once I receive the new countertop.

Beautiful island countertop. This was 7’x42″, which entirely transformed our kitchen and has made a wonderful gathering area in the kitchen. Couldn’t be happier with the work, and the maple is beautiful.

I recently built a new garage/workshop. I knew I wanted a heavy wooden bench top similar to what they used in high school woodshop. This product really met my needs and fit well into my 97″ inch wide opening.

A little pine trim backsplash was all I added. This is the same quality product you find in qourmet kitchen stores. I searched the internet and couldn’t find a 30″ deep bench top for a better price. Shipping is a little high, but lower than the competition.

The delivery driver put it right inside the garage.

I’ve got pale, cool-toned skin with asymmetrically-hooded, slightly-crepey (30s) eyelids. and the shade “stiletto” is the PERFECT daily one-and-done matte for me. It reads as a muted, dusty (but not powdery), mauve-y peach.

Dark enough to give some depth, light enough to be super forgiving and blendable, opaque enough to color-correct for purplish veins. I also apply it below the lower lash line for subtle definition. It’s been my go-to for 5 years now.

Can I also say, regarding the Hot Singles shadow line more generally. it has been AMAZING having the option to buy ONLY THE INDIVIDUAL SHADES I KNOW I’LL ACTUALLY USE. Palettes are cute, but they’re 95% useless for folks with eyes like mine (and we are legion lol).

With palettes, I was gazing dejectedly at a whole range of unflattering shades every time I reached for the flattering *one* (or two at best). With singles, I’m buying yearlong supplies of my favorite shades, and occasionally trying new ones that look promising.

If NYX stops selling soft matte singles like Stiletto, I’ll probably transition to ULTA’s single shadows instead.

This review is for the shade ‘Vivid Violet’ At a glance, this collection of liners really just catches my attention – as someone who loves colored eyeliner and uses it frequently, I like having a variety of options.

The shade is very vibrant and I’m in love with it – very bold and help compliment my green eyes. This formula took some effort from me to be able to work throughout the day. This isn’t an eyeliner you can just simply put on without preparation and expect the best – it’ll most likely crack in appearance, and no one likes cracks in their winged eyeliner.

As you can see in photo two of this review – the product is very promising when you first apply and then, it dries down – and you see the cracks. I’ve only been able to make this work with priming my eyes and wishing for the best – knowing I’ll have to keep this on me throughout the day to touch up the dry cracks I can feel on my eyelids.

And that’s not an effort I really want to partake in. It’s unfortunate because I wanted to love these, but they just don’t work for me and I’ll stick to my holy grails. A nice effort NYX just needs better execution.

I have been using “Whipped Cream” single since probably around. 2014 when I was first introduced to NYX at Ulta. It is one of, if not, my absolute go-to single most essential product in my makeup routine.

I stock up when it is actually available on the shelf. Couple CONS from the last year or so. Like others have mentioned, and I don’t know if this is an issue across the board for all their singles as if they tweaked their formula, this white used to be very intensely pigmented and smooth and a little bit went a LONG way! I find that at some point in the last year or so, the eyeshadow has become rather dry and weak.

That is not to say it is a wet shadow, it’s not, but it had a very dense velvety texture and now it’s just meh. I have to use a lot and go over and again across my lid to build up to the strong white I love which stinks for 1: getting the job done well, quickly and 2.

not going through it too quickly (see what they did there?). I have deep-set eyes and my “awakening” and finally finding an eye makeup routine/technique that really works for me, was applying white to the brow and inner corners and sweeping outwards across my lid.

This is the only white I use. I have tried to substitute with others when this is not available, and it just isn’t the same. This usually is very pigmented and blendable so I am annoyed that it is now so chalky.

i will still keep using it, though. The lid on these singles almost always eventually breaks off which makes it hard to travel with these, or not even, because sooner or later the lid will come off when it should not and the rest of the shadow will get broken apart into a million pieces and get all over.

I find the same t be true of the HD finishing powder, which is another go-to product for me. Both crumble and break apart far too easily in my opinion but when they do I grind them into a fine powder and re-set in the containers with rubbing alcohol.

Once it dries you have a nice, smooth hunk of make up again and actually works even better than before. I really wish companies would stop messing with the formulas for their products or altogether discontinuing stuff they’ve been making for a long time.

I guess they just don’t market like they used to.
