20 Best Shades For Kitchen Window (2023 Updated)

I’m not sure if we received a defective product or if the cordless lifting design is just weak, but the quality of the shade is sub-par at best for the price paid. It does not “lift” evenly, if at all.

The fabric and weight are nice (hence the second star), but that’s pretty useless when the shade won’t function properly. The mounting brackets are robust, metal, and require 3 screws, but the mounting portion on the shade is very thin, flimsy plastic.

So odd! I would NOT recommend this shade. Will be returning.

Easy to install! One of my very old windows was slightly too narrow but I was able to snap out the end pieces and it fit perfectly. The fabric looks like good quality

I like the color and they go up and down easy with no cords. But the fabric isn’t textured like I thought and it’s not very room darkening.

I absolutely love these shades! They look gorgeous in our bedroom!! Easy to install and really nice quality!! They look elegant and the print is just subtle enough. I wish these came in other colors and different prints because I would order more for other rooms!!.

Beautiful! Blocks the light! The pattern is very subtle, kind of hard to see, but it’s still really pretty and very neutral.

We see this style in all of the magazines! this is affordable, easy to install and exactly like the description. LOVE that blinds are now cordless. That’s important for my 8 month old who like to get into everything! The filter the light and give you privacy, however, let enough light through so you don’t feel like you’re in a dark room.

We received the shades in a timely manner and at this I was pleasantly surprised. If you are looking for light blocking these are not for you however, if you wish for filtered light these will do. They are very pleasing to look at and finish the loft office space very nicely.

They are easy to hang, took less than 10 minutes. Overall pleased with the purchase.

I put this up in my daughters room. We have a cat who just LOVED taking advantage of the blinds that used to be in her window. every slat was just about broken because he would always try to look out the window.

With this put up he just moved it to the side. nothing broke anymore. lol It’s a refreshing change. The extra to it is the room darkening aspect. The sun always stays on the side of the house her room in on most of the day making it always bright in there.

This shade really helps. No its not completely dark with this up. But it’s certainly enough to where there no more issues with the bright hot sun. I would recommend this product.

These are just “ok”. I saw the reviews and photos and they looked great. But when I put them up I was a little disappointed. They don’t look very nice or “expensive” as some people mention. The fabric of the white shades isn’t really a basket weave-it’s just a design.

I also purchased in blue for a bathroom so hoping I like that one a bit more. They’re not light blocking at all- which is fine for our purpose. I mean for the price- they’re ok. We have blinds that we’re 3x the price but probably 1000x nicer so we’ll stick to spending a little money for a better product.

I struggled to find a product that would enhance my 1920’s home den with the warmth and color reminiscent of craftsman. These shades were perfect, although they could be a great fit for a modern home, they really fit well in my house.

Lightweight, but sturdy. Good quality mechanism for the shade, easy to install. Also a renewable resource, and that is important to me. Also, easy for me to hang myself!.

These are nothing like the old spring shades that were so hard to pull up. They are light weight and all you do is lightly push up and the shade goes up. They are great at blocking the sun. The color is very nice.

When I first got them up you could see a light rectangle where the handle was resting against the shade. Just a few days later and it went away. Just beautiful with my valances.

Purchased three shades. Only one will stay down. Largest one I re ordered because it would not roll up evenly. Reorder one does better staying down and will roll fairly straight. Valances to cover the roller blind top won’t lay smoothly and one is shorter that the other two.

Love the blind part, so I am going to keep them and make them do. Can’t recommend them to others tho.

I got two shades for two different sized windows both in my kitchen, even though I love the way they look; unfortunately for me, only one fitted perfectly, the other one is a bit big for the window, but one way or another I will make it work, becausr they look great!!!! We needed an inexpensive shade for our guest room that would allow privacy, but I wanted something with a minimal profile. I’m pleased with this purchase. The installation is easy, only a screwdriver is required to place brackets after which the curtain is held in with the included bolts–done in minutes.

I like the diffuse light that comes through the fabric in the afternoon, the material still lets in a fair amount of sunshine. The magnets in the shade are a nice idea — no dangling cord to raise or lower the blind-.

There is also no way to alter the length of the blind, it can bunch at the bottom when fully extended. Overall, for a small investment, I’m glad to have this easy option to quickly get a way manage privacy/control light in our window.

This Sun Zero – Sun Zero Somerton Textured 100% Blackout Cordless Roman Shade is a very nice blackout shade. It is a great replacement for roller shades with a Roman shade look. No chords either! It pulls down smoothly and then with a quick tug it rolls up smoothly but nice a slow.

Not quick like the roller shades. I’m only giving it a 4 star because there weren’t any instructions. I ordered 2 shades and neither came with instructions. Granted I have hung many different shades and was able to figure these ones out easily.

The second reason for 4 stars is because the shade sides left or right. There isn’t a stopper on either end to keep it from moving side to side. Not that anyone should be moving it. It is to snap the shade onto the brackets and snap them off.

It does a great job blocking out the Sun light. Its heavy fabric and I could see it doing a nice job with keeping the heat out from the sun while closed. I’m happy with it and I would still recommend it.

These definitely get the job done. They are attractive and the weave is nice and subtle while still being a little interesting on closer inspection. The problem I did have with these, and this is probably on me, but they didn’t fit my windows how I would have wanted them to.

The instructions (which I couldn’t find initially as they were squished at the very bottom of the narrow rectangular box) show the installation to cover the full window and frame or to fin on the inside of the frame and only cover the window.

It was too narrow to cover the window frame and too wide to fit on the inside. Granted my windows are from the 1950’s, but still, measure before you buy. Now that I have them hung, I think I would like them best mounted in the inside of the window frame, as the rolling mechanism juts out a bit allowing a little light to come through the sides.

Other than these mounting issues, I do like the product as it provides privacy and a nice sleeping environment in my Guest Room.

Fabulous blinds. They provide multiple options between fully open and fully closed. They look modern and sleek. They allow some light when closed but also provide total privacy. They are far easier to dust than Venetian blinds and way more attractive.

I love them! However, note that the size you receive is the size of the valance – the actual blind is 2cm narrower on each end, so a total of 4cm narrower in width than the size you purchase (that equals just over 1 and 1/2 inches).

But you do have to be able to fit your valance in the space too! Mine are slightly to narrow because the blind is not as wide as the valance. I will use mine on a different window. So just be aware that the size they show for purchase is the valance width, not the actual blind width – which is 4cm narrower.

These looks very nice and are easy to install, but they are definately not blackout. They are somewhat room darkening. The other thing is that the roller gets tripped up a little, especially when you do it too fast.

It’s like the blinds and the ball movement don’t match. But they are very inexpensive, so they are a good value if you don’t meed complete black out and you aren’t planning to open them all the way up too often.

Very happy with the product, and ordered another one. The fitting of the middle clip required some minor lifting the metal clip with a flat screw driver to get it to clip on. We also installed blackout curtains over the blinds using 5in+ expandable brackets from Home Depot, as these are light filtering blinds.

Needed 29” wide shade to fit a small apartment window. This shade nestled nicely into the window frame to cut the daytime glare backlighting my computer monitors. Working at sunset was especially tough.

The layered effect blocks the glare behind my computer; the full block eliminates light from parking lot at night. Easy to raise and lower. 72” length hides nicely behind the valence. Handyman had some difficulty attaching shade to brackets but nothing he couldn’t tackle.

I really wanted these to work but when I opened one of them, they were grey as ordered, the sides of the header were grey, but the long header that would show was lavender!! It was a deal breaker for me.

I returned them. I was really disappointed. The size was correct.

This item has never been received, & FedEx still shows that it has only had a label created on the date of purchase, which was 1/17/22, but has never been received by them. This was a gift for a friend & was to be shipped directly to her home address.

I e-mailed the merchant last week but have not received a response. My Groupon order # is 1512255121 & the FedEx # is 546787328155. The total cost was $76. 81 & was paid in full at the time the order was placed.

These are great blinds. Several sizes to choose from and I had no trouble with fit. I bought 6 blinds in various sizes. I bought them two at a time, originally to make sure they were correct in size and color also wanted to make sure they were easy to install and operate.

One box was severely dammaged, and end of box was open. I took pictures before opening but fortunatesly blind and componants were still okay.

Beautiful blinds! Fits perfectly and easy to install. They are not black out and lets some light through. I am installing them throughout my whole house for a cozy beachy feel.

We’ve used Levolor Cellular shades in two homes, total of 42 shades and recently purchased two more for a travel trailer renovation. We obviously like the product. They’re stylish, energy efficient and have served as as well as we could have expected.

They’re also reasonably priced. When looking for shades for the travel trailer, I decided to price shop a bit. I checked an outfit that regularly advertises on the radio and found that buying from the Levolor website was similarly priced and they came with a better warranty.

The Levolor warranty is ten years. We’ve had minor issues with two shades and Levolor replaced both quickly and with no questions asked other than the nature of the problem, and if I understood the rep I spoke with, the warranty on the replacement shade re-starts at ten years.

I got the top down/bottom up for my Master Bedroom. They appear to be very well made. The brackets are a little tricky to get the header of the blind to click into (and will probably be a little hard to take them down if needed), but they really are secure in place as a result.

So I guess that is a trade-off! Being able to get free color samples before ordering was a HUGE plus for me. I was going for a specific look and wanted the color to be perfect. The vast amount of color choices made that happen.

The color I picked was exactly what I wanted.

The cellular shades look great and a a great addition/upgrade to our decor. The instructions for installation were clear and simple to follow. We were concerned about installing ourselves – but there was no problem.

We have just the correct amount of light filtered thru, but dark enough during the day if you want to sleep. Up from the bottom/down from the top is so cool. We love them. A great investment that we really enjoy.

I just purchased my 2nd Living Accent Window Blind 1 month ago. I enjoy the fact it’s a cordless blind. To assemble, the working space for installation is “Very Tight”. You need tiny fingers or electric tools.

However, the blind aspect is very fragile and cracks or snaps easily. I stuck my hand through 2 slats to open my window and snap, one slat cracked or snapped right @ the rope / thread center connection.

I have taped it with clear tape for now. My concern is when I take them down to wash them, it would be very easy to snap or crack other slats. My old blinds were of a heavier plastic and never broke until they became too brittle.

This after many tub washings and hanging them outside to dry. So caution if you take them down to wash them. They are quite reasonably priced though.

Make sure you measure correctly before picking out the size. The blinds are incredibly easy to install. Unfortunately, the 60 inch blinds I ordered were broken on arrival so I had to return them. But I have installed 6 sets of blinds and they all install the same way, easy :-).

Easy installation and I like the look. Nice basic blinds. 1/2″ shorter than measurement (30″ actually 29. 5″). Ordered online so I wasn’t sure but glad I didn’t go any shorter. Not sure on durability since they just went up, but they seem decent quality.

As described, these shades are good quality. Good light-filtering (great for indoor plants that cannot have direct sunshine), and still good for needed privacy during the day. However, I recommended adding curtains for complete privacy, as at night when inside lighting is on inside your house, you can see through the shades a bit.

Polyester-style material (was expecting cloth material), pull-down is easy and does not need tugging, easy install. Recommended.

Like that they are cordless, but the fabric is so very thin and flimsy. Do not see that they could ever be cleaned if they got dirty.

Light and airy is how I would describe this. It?s what I wanted for the window in mind. It offers the idea of privacy but if you want full coverage, this is not what you need. Easy to install and not complicated.

Raising and lowering is so nice!.

These shades. I bought them for some French doors and they are perfect. They keep out the right amount of light and seem sturdy and well-made. They were easy to install. The only thing I did need was a piece of Velcro on the end of the shade and on the door to keep them from flopping when the door opens and closes.

Very reasonable price.

Most of all blindsgalore has great customer service. We accidentally ordered a half inch to small and we were able to get our correct size without an extra charge. The blinds look great and function perfectly.

Purchased this for a very large 4 slider door from our family room to the patio. Required a combination of inside mount and outside mount as two 95″ motorized (battery) units 97″ in length were required.

The Somfy units which raise and lower these blinds is outstanding. Installation was a breeze to do myself with just a hand from my wife. took less than an hour. Programming the remote was a bit confusing but turned out to be very user friendly in the end.

We LOVE these roller shades. I mean LOVE ’em! On sale around the holidays the total price was probably less than a third of what we’d have paid a custom house to come, measure, fuss over your home and then install them.

We really like these blinds! If you have a window size in between full inches, round down. We originally ordered the 35 for our 34 34 window thinking the blinds would be slightly smaller than 35 inch wide, but they ended up being too large.

They don’t stay completely level at the top, but they are great for the function of blinds.

Love them! They are just what I need with very close neighbors. I can arrange them to let in lots of light and still maintain my privacy. They also operate well and I think will last, but my new kitten chewed the cord on one set so I will be ordering a replacement.

This is the first Wayfair brand item we have bought. Compared to the other top down bottom up shades we have bought these are just a good. Not as pleasing to look at as the other ones because of the space between the strings but they get the job done!.

The shade is beautiful. The material is top notch. Love the look and they go perfect in the room. The problem is the chain. They are hanging in the front guess room. The window is oversized at 70″ x 64″.

However we had the shade made 70″ x 70″ because my guess opened my last shade to long, (guess they felt someone could see inside under the shade) and it came down. Therefore we ordered this one longer so that wouldn’t be an issue.

The pull chain is attached to the wall but is a bit long at 60″. I could live with that but you can’t adjust the shade. Once up the chain works very smoothly to close the shade however opening it is impossible.

You pull and it fights you every inch of the way. Afraid to pull to hard for fear of the whole shade coming down. I used to open that shade all the time as it let so much sun into the room and hallway.

Now it is only open about a foot as it was so hard to get it there. I know the first guess I have it going to close and open it and it is going to come falling down. It is a shame as it is the most I have ever spent on a shade and it doesn’t work.

Really happy with purchase. Looks great in bathroom. Better quality, blind options, and price than other blind stores. Needed another blind for my laundry room but blindsgalore didnt have any patterns to match my decor.

Had to order from other company. Your blinds are by far better just wish you had more patterns. Only issue is at the bottom of the blind, material a little wavey like it wasn’t stretched enough before putting bottom rail on.
