19 Best Shade Cloth For Greenhouse (2023 Updated)

I have a huge 2 story deck in the city I am living and I could not and do not like umbrellas for the most part. I don’t like how much room they take up and the blow over all the time. The one I have on my deck I would leave for the day and come home it would be down in the alley all the time.

It broke after 2 days of having it. It was $100. I got 2 of the Sails and built it in a way I could have them on my deck and I take them down in the winter. EASY!! and easy to store them also wash them off and dry in the sun and store them.

They stay up all summer long with know problems for the most part. People even stop to ask me about them. I need one more and I am good. I have had them for at least 3 or more years. One is a little faded the (orange one) the blue is in great shape and I will be getting more of these.

The photos you can see the deck in process of it’s change which is still not done but i have shade and I love my sails!.

From the photos I was not aware that the color of this is a very bright almost neon yellow. Definitely not the color I want to stare at when trying to relax in the shade. Can’t return it so I guess I’ll try and spray paint it or something but it is way to bright to not cause eye strain.

I haven’t even set it up yet so I’m sorry I cant give a review on its function, it looks to be made sturdy but I cant really tell. Just be aware that all the colors they offer are super saturated and bright.

I am using the yellow shade for a plant that’s trying to make it in the crazy hot California summer sun. the yellow is bright and beautiful! I just ordered the orange one also to cover a hot spot seating area in the backyard! Great price, well made, sturdy! I’m happy with my purchase and would recommend!.

Obviously the challenge with this greenhouse is assembly. Good planning is the key, as other reviewers have noted. Suggestions: -First, inventory all parts. Mine had none missing, bit its essential to have supplier provide any missing parts before you begin assembly.

I organized all parts and labeled them clearly, only bringing them to the assembly location as they were required. -Build a good base – sturdy and in true square. The idea of siting the greenhouse on the ground seems too risky to me.

-Study each page of directions and have parts for that page only at hand. Each page of directions shows parts and tools required. -Some of the assembly is easily understood – some challenging. Luckily I had a helper who is mechanically adept.

Because it was on sale, I bought my greenhouse in the summer, so we worked three mornings to avoid the heat of the day. we made sure our stopping point was where the frame was structurally sound. The design is clever and appears adequate.

The result seems to be a very good value. I selected the Snap-n-Grow 8×8 because I am a big man and wanted the double doors. The single doors are quite narrow.

We bought this shade for our greenhouse in Arizona. It does work, it keeps the greenhouse a few degrees cooler, however, we still had to buy an evaporative cooler to lower the temperature even further in the greenhouse, so I’d say that this product will work really well during the fall and winter months, and they help in the heat of the summer.

Supposed to be 8’ wide and much closer to 7’… maybe even shorten in some areas. Also not a uniform square as it bows in in the middle. Will work for what I need but not completely satisfied.

First, I was happy to read the reviews and find out that the rain will go right through it and not puddle-up. Second, we put this over our pergola which sits over our jacuzzi. The kids spend a lot of time in there and I got tired of them getting too much sun.

Our pergola is only 7′ x 7′, so this shade was the perfect size to give us over-hang on two sides. I stapled the shade to the pergola with a staple gun, but used pieces of a neoprene patch (which I received with one of my children’s wetsuits) as a middle-man.

so the cloth wouldn’t eventually tear away from the staples. It is holding up just fine and gives the shade me desperately needed! The ONLY complaint I have is that the ends (which aren’t finished, like the sides are) curl up a little.

So it doesn’t look high-end or professional by any means. What I did to make the front side more attractive is I rolled a very thin piece of wood into the bottom and hand sewed it in. (. if that makes sense) I’m satisfied now.

If only they stitched up the ends like a curtain, it would be the PERFECT product.

I have used this shade cloth for over 20 years for privacy shields. It holds up great outside! If it gets cut it does not tear or rip. I highly recommend it!!

It’s a great product and as it states it doesn’t ravel at the edges when cut. I secured it to a frame and put it on barn stall window to keep out flies but let fresh air in. It works great and it is a sturdy product.

Well pleased and worth the money.

This sunshade is my favorite because it does let a fair amount of light through but keeps things a good deal cooler. This is now covering my Vegas patio where we also grow a small garden. It lets in enough light for things to grow while keeping temps low enough to be able to work on the patio.

Just what was needed for my all day sun yard. Shades the plants adequately. No scorching of leaves this year. Easy to install and works great as a new canopy.

This is an amazing product. I cover my car with my dog his crate for hours in the direct summer sun for hours. It feels like we are parked in thick shade! This plus a portable fan really makes him comfortable.

Packs up in a handy bag and we have a cool spot no matter where we need to go! Highly recommended.

I love my outdoor gazebo, it’s anchored to my deck. We have a nice outdoor carpet and outdoor furniture. but i still hate when everything gets soaked from the rain. These fit perfectly, didn’t mold when got wet, and work great as a sun blocker OR privacy curtain.

I have a small gas firepit in the gazebo. closing up these curtains allows us to continue to use the outdoor space long after summer is over!!.

We have a Sojag Pergola, 12X16; these curtains provide the perfect amount of enclosure for maintaining a comfortable inside temp, when using a propane outdoor space heater. They were very easy to install and fit perfectly.

I would definitely recommend to others.

There should be straps for the curtains in the middle and down at the bottom to stop the wind from blowing them up and exposing your 3000. 00 patio furniture to the elements. I custom do this and it is a pain.

I also reenforce the curtain where the staps are. Other than that they are good quality.

I used these for the side panels by my front door. The wider width gives it a better look. The material is very nice and the pattern is pretty. Let’s in a lot of light without being so sheer. People cannot see in, but again I used a wider width on a very small window.

The curtains are sheer which is great for letting in light and they look nice from within and from the outside. Very pleased.

I ordered one panel for each door and had to order two more panels. The length was 40 inches and the width was 40 inches. They are pretty but very sheer. I could have used another panel for each door.

The description clearly states: “Kitchen Curtain Tier PAIR” but that is not the case. Instead of receiving 2 pairs = 4 panels, I received only 2 panels in separate bags. The quality of these panels is disgraceful for the price.

They look nothing like the pictures. Very flimsy and cheap looking. I am extremely disappointed in Bed, Bath & Beyonds misleading description of these coming as a pair and the quality is a joke.

This works pretty well. It does still let a little bit of light through, but provides great shade. Well made and has lasted all season long and the next year.

bought this in June got it in and set up on June 17th. so its 1 month old now. came home and the metal ring ripped out of the corner of the sun sail. I can’t believe this is made to hang outside and only last 4 weeks.

no way would I recommend anyone buy this unless you want to replace every few weeks. Made very cheap, and won’t hold up. I had to tie it back up and thats not going to last.

Can’t get it tight on the sides,, sags down 3′ in the middle. It’s cheap junk…

This worked out great as a shade cover for our daughter’s pergola. Width and length worked out perfectly. Nice color as well. Know this will last much longer than those canopy covers we have been buying- replacement necessary each year due to sun, wind and rain causing the fabric to simply tear apart.

This was a great find. We have two of the Coolaroo shade sails- love them. We have had them for years and still look new! Coolaroo makes a great product.

Coolaroo!! Only the very best shade cloth! I used Coolaroo on my West facing windows while living in Tucson, AZ. Still in great shape after 18 years! I had to leave them behind when moving to El Paso, TX.

The sun shield is well made, comes with plenty of rope. is easy to put up if you have the supports and does the job of keeping the direct sun off my patio and out of my home. Where I live, it’s important.

Coolaroo Shade Fabric is great! I’ve used it to enclose several porches. It works wonderfully and really helps keep the heat down in the summer. Coolaroo is one of my “go-to” products. Wonderful quality and super easy to install.

The Coolaroo definitely blocks out most of the sun. The 90% efficiency grade is warm due to the dark color. I designed and installed it as a roll up/down porch screen with the help of pulleys, paracord, wood and staples on the sunny side of my place and it definitely helps the AC keep the place cool.

I can also sit on my porch at the hottest time of the day without bursting into flames.

Material is great. Long lasting and really blocks heat and sunlight. Easy to work with. I sewed it easily and made shades for windows

The product is great – my only problem (and it had nothing to do with the quality of the product) was getting it to a height over my vegetable plants which would not touch the vines and making it secure.

But that was my problem – not the problem of this fine piece of shade cloth.

I bought this cloth to wrap my chicken yard, which is a re-purposed dog kennel with a roof. I’m hoping it will keep the yard free of snow so that my chickens can spend more time outside this winter. We’re still enjoying a very mild fall, so I have not installed the cloth yet.

The cloth weave seems strong enough to keep out snow and wind, yet still light enough to allow some light to enter. I’ve heard many good things about the quality of Coolaroo, so I am trusting it will hold up to our MN winters.

great product, used over a pergola which allows the light to come through but blocks to UV. cooled down the deck 15 to 20 degrees as opposed to direct sunlight.

Great for the price. Reasonably robust material (not up to the really thick stuff used on the best ones that you’d expect to last 20 years or more but not thin flimsy either). Another review said there was no reinforcement round the eyelets.

-there is, it’s double layered, although oddly it’s not stitched in across the diagonal which I would have thought would add to the strength. So, not mega robust (I would be inclined to take it down ahead of stormy weather) but better than I expected at theis price.

i received the item ok. i fitted it to a corner of my garden where the laundry wall sticks out from the kitchen. the corner is a right angle and my sun shade is a triangle so make a drawing on paper of a corner and cut an equilateral triangle, the 3 sides are the same to get an idea of how it will fit.

i used 3 screw in hooks for mine and allowed for it to sag in the middle. use the 3 cords supplied to attatch it to the hooks and be aware that the wind will make it move but it can be taken down easily in strong damaging wins.

think safety. use my instalation “only ” as a guide at your ” own risk”.

Great value for money. Even came with rope for tying up, brilliant! Gives a good amount of shade. I would say, that the eyes are starting to pull away from the fabric, but it has been windy recently, and I feel for the price, it is still a good product, and really like it.

Buying this fabric on the roll is much less expensive than buying a pre-made shade sail. It does take two people to put it up if you’re attaching it over head. We ran it between two eaves to provide shade for some succulents.

It looks nice, but we had to hire someone to help my husband put it up, because, as he says, “I don’t have three hands”. Bless his heart ;o).
