I find that Industrial sewing machines are just so useful. You can struggle with a sewing machine that is to light for the job or get an industrial and do it easily. I had a consew 225 for 25 years. So I just replaced the head.

Having reverse makes the job easier when you are locking the stitch on a truck seat (rather than turning the whole thing 180 degrees every time you lock the stitch) I just use an industrial sewing machine occasionally and for that the consew is perfect.

I slowed it down so I can sew accurately. Very happy with this purchase.

Wow! This thing is a beast and has performed extremely well. I was unsure of what machine I wanted/needed and read so many different reviews for leather walking foot machines and the Consew 206RB5 kept on coming up with so many positive reviews and now I know why – It’s a GREAT machine for the money.

It’s one of the cheaper, almost entry-level machines but it is solid and built like a tank, yet sews leather very well. I am impressed because it has helped me to elevate my hobby to a entirely new level.

If I could give it more than 5 stars, I would.

This is an amazing machine — If you can figure out how to set it up and make adjustments needed. The assembly instructions we received were for a Juki, not the Consew I purchased. For assembly, therefore, we had to rely on a user video on YouTube.

That was a help, but only got us so far. The user manual for the machine itself is incomprehensible, with grainy, inaccurate pictures. I found some help on YouTube but mostly have to fiddle around and see what works.

So: this is for adventurous self-starters. You will need two people for initial setup. Once set up, and once you get your tension adjusted properly, this machine will sew through anything. The stitches are beautifully even and it feeds like a dream.

I am still learning to control the speed with my foot and assume I will improve with practice. I wish it had speed settings, however, so I could prevent it from going into what I call “turbo mode,” where it is simply too fast for me to feed accurately.

I have so far used the machine to assemble and topstitch a handbag and am very pleased. Be mindful that the machine must be oiled regularly with sewing machine oil. The bobbin winder included with the machine is cheap and does not work very well.

I have ordered a freestanding K Kraft super winder to meet this need.

I love having a sewing machine that sews and embroiders. I love the project of the month on the ibroidery website. The 5×7 embroidery area is a nice size. I did buy extra hoops so I can do a 4×4 or a small oval.

Use the small gray spool holder so that your embroidery thread doesn’t get tangled. I had the regular size spool holder on. My thread got tangled, created tension and broke a needle. User error on my part.

I turned the machine off, went to bed frustrated, installed a new needle the next morning. I turned the machine back on and got a message asking if I wanted to resume where I left off! My project was still undisturbed in the hoop so I put it back it the machine and it stitched out beautifully!.

This is my first computerized machine and my first machine which not only sews, but also does embroidery. It is fairly easy to use. I do read the manual which is very helpful, before trying anything new.

Much of the sewing part is rather intuitive since I have 50+ years of sewing experience. I do recommend this machine to anyone who is a beginner with machine embroidery and/or their first computerized machine.

There are many beautiful preprogrammed embroidery designs. I did purchase the threads which coordinate with this machine designs. Very easy it shows step by step the color and color number to use next.

Loving my se1900! It is an upgrade from the se600 which I still love! The SE1900 definitely has more power so I sew faster. There are only two things that bother me the bobbin is slow winding up a bobbin and getting the Tread through the tension bar.

The bar is under so you can’t really see it. Which really I will get over it and love the embroidery it comes out beautiful! I would definitely recommend this machin!.

I ordered this one, and got 3 days earlier than expected delivery date. Most things are good except table plate that was chipped at a corner of the board. It probably was made during delivery. Except this one, I might give 5 stars.

One more thing, it includes terrible assembly instruction. I got an email from them. It says before assembly watch youtube about assembly. However, there are several versions of assembly, which means there are different types of table, so finding same table assembly is important.

Servo motor also be various. I tried to find whole assembly, but no, but finally I found all of them here an there. It took about 3 hours, wow. Now there is a great sewing machine in my house. Noise level is also really good.

Aha, one more thing, after I ordered this, the price decreased a little bit about 30 dollars. That is disappointing one ha ha.

I was very impressed with the customer support team from the moment I purchased the machine! It was a gift for my mother who is a professional seamstress, and I was thrilled they had it in stock. It was shipped via freight (I included a picture) and it is worth mentioning how incredibly well packaged it came! I watched a youtube video for instruction as far as how to assemble the machine (put out by cutsew.

com), and it was fairly easy to do. I attached a photo of the panel of what I later discovered was the Needle Synchronizer (an upgrade I purchased that came along with the upgraded motor), and the only bummer was we have no idea how to use it ^_^ I’m fairly confident we’ll be able to get it sorted soon enough, but it’s a shame no instruction manual was provided for this upgrade seeing as my Mother had never seen one before (nor have I), and we’re not sure what the buttons were for or how to program it.

I called tech support and they said they would email me back with some more info, and I currently await their getting back to me. OTHER THAN THAT, machine runs like an absolute dream (genuinely, it runs better than my car hahaha), and Mom seems absolutely thrilled to finally have a unit like this of her own! Be advised out unit did not come with any kind of light, so we will have to go out and purchase one (and just considering the price tag, it would have been nice if it came with some sort of light at all).

I can’t wait to see what she creates, we’re very happy with our purchase!.

We arrested this machine with a needle synchronizer and an automatic bobbin winder that I didn’t need because it came with. Well we couldn’t get the synchronizer to work because we were sent the wrong motor.

He also promised me a starter kit that I didn’t receive. I contacted him multiple times and finally talked to him and he said he would send that stuff out along with a return shipping for the bobbin winder and I think the motor.

It’s been almost 3 weeks and he continues to give me the run around. Today is my birthday and I’m having to right this review because he doesn’t keep his word. I will have to let everyone that was interested in buying from him not to because he gives you the run around and doesn’t keep his end of the deal.

My quantum 9960 was lost to Hurricane Ida, as were 3 other machines, one my perfect Featherweight Vtg. 221. After a year of waiting to replace one of the 4, I ordered the 8060, a newer version of the 9960, despite the # regression.

VERY, VERY happy with all features, back in my comfort zone! The basic cast of stitches cover all my needs & strength, if careful on speed & needle choice, handles most of my projects. The decorative stitches & fonts & buttonholes are an exceptional plus.

This is a basic sewing garment and decorator accentd machine. It will create a tote bag, in light canvas, and does manage sewing and appliqueing standard denim, as well. Not one complaint had it not been under $300, but it was.

No, no incentives offered, haha, for me to review favorably. I am quite happy with the 8060. I do have a Singer 99 I use for thicker canvas work, and really feel the 8060 is especially suited to garments.

I made a few mohair & fleece teddy bears on the 9960, actually, almost an exact duplicate of the 8060, and they stitched effortlessly. Knit fabrics, swimwear fabrics, corduroy, and wool are easy dos.

Very self explanatory, quite a small learning curve til you can adapt in seconds as you change fabrics, or stitch sizing. For the $$$, cannot compare another machine.

I’m new to sewing (46) and this was my first sewing machine purchase. I’ve researched many brands and chose this machine based on the price and features. I didn’t want to get a “basic” machine and then wish I purchased one with more features; I didn’t want to spend a lot in case sewing was just a passing fancy.

Easy to figure out (with a little youtube help–I’ve never sewn before). I liked that it came with a user guide (instead of printing one online). It also came with more presser feet than were listed! Such a pleasant surprise! Also, it is a very “solid” machine; it’s heavy and stays put on the table (no shaking or moving when sewing) but it is definitely easy to tote around.

Easy to use without instructions if you are familiar with singer machines. This one does everything for you from threading the needle to cutting thread, to automatically knotting the ends of the thread with a stitch! Immediately started a quilting project and have had no issues so far, after sewing 120 half square triangles! And it comes with all of the presser feet you would need.

Excited to use the embroidery stitches for the finishing touches on the quilt. I am so happy with this purchase!.

In the first 6 days, I have broken 3 machine needles. I have City & Guilds qualifications as well as a degree in Textiles along with over 50 years experience of using sewing machines and in that time I have broken only a couple of needles.

Other problems experienced with this machine include the upper thread breaking and the lower thread jamming several times. All the previous reviews were glowing and my reason for buying it. As this was bought for my granddaughter, I thought it wise to try it out before giving it to her.

I’m so relieved that I did this. I’m still trying it out for a few more days before either returning it to the shop or sorting out the reason for these problems myself. It’s a lovely machine and would be ideal for a novice so I’m really disappointed.

I could not be anymore disappointed in this machine. After having a singer simple for two years my boyfriend decided to get me the 6600 for a nice gift and an upgraded machine. I was so excited and couldn’t wait to try all the new stitches and to have all the upgraded features i.

e. needle threader, multiple buttonholes, top loading easy view bobbin case etc. First huge let down was when I realized it doesn’t come with a manual. Fancy new machine with loads of fancy new features no idea and/or explanation on how to use them, bummer.

After finding the manual online on my phone and growing frustrated with the tiny text, low battery and screen locking constantly I was eventually able to figure out how to thread the machine and how to use the top loading bobbin.

at long last it was finally time to lay some stitches! Side note the presser foot (any/all) fits so loose I was really hesitant to even begin stitching. It’s not that it just moves up and down to account for the different fabrics like most machines, this thing wobbles side to side as well as actually having a slight horizontal twist all of which seems very sketchy specially given the speed at which it sews.

Of which I was also unprepared for, it feeds fabric through so fast! Takes some getting used to but not necessarily a negative. So I’ve now had the machine just over ONE Month, and I had to call into singer support because I keep breaking needles, and not just a couple I’ve literally broken 7 needles in two days!! The kicker is that I’m only trying to sew through 2 layers of terry cloth!!! A Heavy Duty machine that can’t sew through TWO layers of terry cloth are you kidding me?! The lady on the phone said I would wed to bring it to the closest warranty facility to have it realigned, seems simple right? Except the nearest warranty facility is 5 HOURS away! She says “oh! well, you can always just ship it to them, but you’ll have to pay the postage and hopefully it isn’t damaged during shipping”.

“But once it’s there singer will pay for the repair parts and labor”. I ask about how long do these kinds of repairs usually take to which she informed me that it’s a privately owned repair shop so it depends on their schedule and their techs.

long story short calling this machine heavy duty is about like calling tissue paper card stock. there are FAR better machines on the market at this price point. I’ve switched back to my singer simple and have had no issues getting through the two layers of terry cloth for my project.

I grew up with my mother owning a Singer. They just feel different than any other machine I’ve tried. (I’ve killed three other brands in the past ten years. Usually by the end of the first project. ) I have completed five projects and I’m half way through six and seven on this new Singer.

I am very impressed with the 6600C. My mother’s machine was black and had a reversable plate for selecting a stitch (early-mid 90’s). I think it had 100+ stitches. It may have had more stitch options but the 6600C sewed through canvas and denim like it was butter! I love it and I hope that it lasts longer than my mothers (which was a very long time)!.

I bought this machine a few months ago and was very impressed at how quiet the motor is for a machine that stitches a project so quickly. I had no problem sewing through layers at a consistent speed – compared to other machines where I’d have to slow down substantially out of fear of breaking the needle.

I only wish it had more speed control where I could start out a slower pace and gradually increase as needed or vice versa. I am still a novice at installing zippers and it would be helpful. I did end up returning this machine because of that one reason.

But other than that, this machine really delivers and I would recommend it to anyone looking for a great heavy duty machine.

Goldstar sent me a broken sewing machine motor. This motor was apparently sent back to Goldstar by someone who beat it with a hammer. Question is why was this used motor sent to me. I payed for a new one.

After sending pics of the damage, they sent me a new, but incorrect part. After 10 days, I received a new motor and bracket, correcting the problem. After getting the machine running, found it is out of adjustment, and entangles the thread.

This problem is quite different and requires someone who knows more about this than I. I would not recommend GoldstarWilliam.

I was Leery to buy a high dollar sewing machine Consew 206RB-5 on Ebay instead of a local dealer. Guaranteed delivery from zeroexpress1 was on time during the holidays. Pros: Easy to setup with YouTube videos.

With servo motor I can sew one stitch at a time. Easy Threading, Winds great bobbins. Has lots of power. A lot of accessories come with the machine. I really like the bobbin holder/tray on the table.

The drawer under the table is plenty long for tools. The manual has some really good troubleshooting hints. Tension is easy to adjust. Cons: Manual is poor print quality, especially the pictures. There to grainy to see details.

I haven’t had time to try the needle positioner. I’m just starting out with sewing and learning to do Auto Upholstery. This is a excellent machine to start with.

I bought the LS-1 basic walking foot 110v. It runs quite loud due to the belt system. The walking foot doesn’t seem to be a whole lot different than a regular foot was a little disappointed in the walking foot seemed to work differently than what I seen on videos.

Does so far sew pretty well but harder to control than what appeared on videos as well. I wanted a heavy duty machine that was easier to control so I could teach my daughter a little easier but not the case with this machine.

I did receive my machine very quickly in shipping. Was not very impressed with the plastic wheel since, the rest of the machine is a heavy cast iron type metal it saddened me they would add some plastic parts.

I will continue to work with it and hope to have for many years to sew my leather bags and totes. I see lighter weight things on this machine as well like canvas and faux leather so far it does sew really well.

I’m struggling to get the cording foot to sew close to the cording. I think this might have been my mistake to buy this particular model. I have a machine that I can move the needle closer to the cording left or right but this needle doesn’t move.

Also, the walking foot is great for going over thick layers of materials but can actually move your material out of place. I had a hard time keeping my striped material on track. The other thing I really don’t like is that I have to oil this machine daily since I sew 8 hours a day or more.

There are 50 plus places to oil and to do that you have to unscrew the plate over the needle, take off the top of the machine which is also screwed in and to oil one spot take off the belt guard. It’s a 30 minute ordeal EACH day! I also had to adjust the bobbin threader to get it to load my bobbin correctly.

It just seems to me this machine is not made very user friendly. My $200 singer takes 1 minute to oil and came all adjusted abs put together. This one I had to put together and then adjust. I’m still not certain I’m keeping this machine.

Yes, it sews over the thick spots I have with upholstery but it is a pain to maintain and I don’t like the cording foot at all. It just doesn’t come out looking professional.

We purchased this machine to make a replacement bimini top and enclosure for our Regal. Our home machine cannot raise the presser foot high enough, nor can it handle V92 thread, however walking-foot attachments are available.

Since we are not sailors (until retirement!), we did not need the zig-zag feature of the LSZ-1. We plan to do cushions and other projects when the bimini and enclosure are done. The first thing I noticed about the LS-1 is how well packed it was upon arrival.

The machine was well protected, and the packaging is organized well. We purchased some optional items – Monster Balance Wheel, Straight Binder, Zipper Foot, along with extra bobbins and a spare bobbin case.

The spare bobbin case works great when changing bobbin colors! After a couple of adjustments, we were ready to sew. signer confidence 7640 sewing… I purchased my signer confidence 7640 sewing and quilting machine as I am very keen in arts and crafts. I decided I this machine as it was not to basic but not to advance for someone that is just getting started with sewing and making garments for my self.

I feel that the machine is not to heavy to pick up to put on to the table or work startion where ever your doing your podject. One of my favourite things about this sewing machine is that you can alter speed from very slow to very fast witch for me I find very useful as I can keep going straight instead of going of.

The machine is able to do a variety of stitches as well as letters. The screen is clear so you can see you stitch selection whitch mimic on you stitch card that comes with your machine. The machine came with a variety of different pressure feet so you don’t have to purchase anything extra ones you are all set ready to start sewing.

I found really easy to set it up and thred the machine as has a self threader system. You can still to the old fashion way if you wish but I have found it much easier with the other method. The drop in spool dispenser is brilliant and so easy to use and set up.

I sertinly would recommend to anyone new to sewing or doing dress making or even going to college this machine will be perfect.

My Singer 7640 Confidence machine arrived today (less than a week) from Singer. The experience from unboxing, set-up and sewing was very exciting. The machine performed flawlessly after working through getting to know this type of sewing machine.

Up till now I have used Singer 99k, 15-90 and Juki DNU-1541S. So there is a break-in period for someone like me. (Without breaking the 7640). That said. PROS: The 7640 experience from unboxing to sewing is excellent.

The 7640 sews magnificently provided you thread it 100% correctly – upper thread and bobbin thread. No room for marginal error like the old machines. CONS: The Singer Class 15 transparent pre-wound bobbins (black/white) I purchased contain cheap thread and the bobbins are overwound (bulging).

This created a twofold issue. Lower thread tension issue and lower/upper thread breakage. The fact about pre-wound bobbins unfortunately. -end pros and cons- I highly recommend the 7640. After taking the time to carefully read over threading, it was a joy to use.

This sewing machine is going to be a pleasure to work with, hopefully, for years to come!.

My old basic brother machine needed replacing and having spent some time researching different models, making a list of all the different features I wanted from the new machine to help me progress my skills I chose the singer confidence.

Delivered promptly very easy to use good instructions. I’m enjoying the ability to alter stitch sizes and introduce embroidery into projects. Simple things like choice of needle up or down when stopping and foot control speed limiter are just brilliant.

The extension table is used all the time and the automatic needle threader useful but I can still do it quicker manually for the moment at least. The auto button hole function works by placing the button into a carrier and then following through the program using one of the button hole styles.

It works every time the correct length hole for the button happy days. The stich card sits on top of the machine for quick reference and changing the stich is a quick press of the button. Ive just got back into sewing after a number of years away from it and I wish I had this machine back then.

I’m very pleased with the purchase and could recommend it for beginners and experienced alike.

This is a lot of great functionality without the high price. This has a start stop button, speed control and computerized system for stitch, & the length and width. Display is clear. It’s has a threader, The only drawback for me is you have to used the foot pedal to thread a bobbin, since I use the stop start button to sew.

Also a slight drawback is the size of the throat space-isn’t larger like some of the other machines with the functionality of this one, but it is sufficient space. This machine has an extension table as an option & other options.

For the price and functionality this machine is a great introduction to using a computerized machine AND has MANY functions most of the fancy computerized machines have. It doesn’t have 100+ stitches, it’s sister model,the juki hzl lb100, has 100 stitches if that is something you like.

And it doesn’t have a thread cutter button, there is a thread cutter on the side of the machine however. A thread cutter button is about all that’s missing on this machine. On the inside, it has a good feed system, metal parts as far as I can see.

For the price this is a GREAT VALUE. I would highly recommend Juki Brand, and the HZL LB 5020. I can tell the machine isn’t like the flimsy big box store machines. JUKI is well known for their industrial machines.

Excellent machine. Nice and quiet with amazing stitch quality. My only one complaint is the lighting being a bit on the dim side. But still very happy with my purchase.

This machine is so great! It sews through anything. I love free motion quilting with it and it’s so quick. I have a much more expensive machine with all sorts of fancy features and I use this one more.

I do wish you could drop the feed dogs but I just throw a silicone slider on it to cover them while I do free motion. This machine is great! I’m so happy I bought it.

If you love to make quilts this is your machine. It is easy to thread. I have been using all purpose thread by Coats and Clark to piece with and have no problems at all. I have been sewing for years but never before have I had a machine handle like this one! The pressure foot does all the work for you.

There is no clunking of fabric into the needle hole everything just glides along. I highly recommend this machine!.

If you want a high quality, flexible machine, this is the one to look at first. We looked at machines from Pfaff, and Viking/Husqvarna also, but feel, from our experience with Bernina, that Bernina is better.

My wife has been sewing with Bernina machines for more than 30 years. She still has her first Bernina, and it still works beautifully. She can still get parts for it also, just in case. Bernina machines are reliable, efficient, last a long time if maintained properly, and user friendly.

When my wife’s passion for embroidery and quiltmaking outpaced her machine’s capabilities, we looked at the upper end Bernina models, and found that the 8 series machines were up to the task at hand.

We realized that a NEW Bernina 8 series would cost the same as a new small car! You have to justify buying one far beyond just sewing and a bit of embroidery. So what would the machine have to do to make it worth the money? Turns out it does just about everything.

Depending on model, it has enough built-in stitches to decorate any piece of sewing you want to do. And, with the optional (expensive) embroidery module, you have a powerhouse combination. The 8 series also includes productivity aids that have been developed in previous models, but continue to set the standard.

We didn’t justify buying a new one, but we did find a used one that had low stitch count and hours used at a reasonable price. Go for it – you’ll be glad you did.

This machine is massive. I recommend it for sewers who have experience with the parts of a sewing machine and also computer knowledge as it is basically computerized. I was able to acclimate my use by watching videos specific to this model.

I am looking forward to my new creations with confidence.

This knee lift has a longer extension from the machine than the one that came with my Bernina 830 Record Sewing Machine. This one allows me to position the machine further from the edge of the table than the one I already had.

I suspect the short one is for a machine in a cabinet and the longer one if for a more portable application. I would not have thought of this had I not seen this knee lift on ebay. It was a bit pricey but it will make using my machine much more convenient.
