Best Selling Final Fantasy Games (2025 Updated)

Cant get any Nintendo coins because the region it was released was European , but still is region free plays well in America. Also , instead of Vll they could used Crisis Core Vll. Or Vll and C C Vll.

Or was C C Vll only released for PlayStation who knows ?.

One of my all-time favorite games is Final Fantasy 7. I tried hooking up my PS-ONE to my 55 inch 4k TV to play that game. The colors were dark. muddy and barely visible plus the game would cause weird scrolling effects across the screen as I moved the characters.

This Switch version looks and plays great. You will notice things in the game you never saw before when you played it years ago. Enjoy the sharp colors while playing one of the great classics.

Same game with a few features like the speed boost (3xplay and Limit Full). Just wanted a game I used to have. Excellent, all on one no disc switching this time around.

Simply the two best Final Fantasy games made in one package. what’s not to like Gameplay is just as their original release as are the graphics. Will not disappoint you. If you have a Nintendo switch this is simply a must buy.

Pros: Purchased as a birthday present for my nephew who has moved countries and is in quarantine. It was what he wanted so hope it lives up to his expectations !

It’s good to see such classic games given a new lease of life on a new system

A beautiful update to an underrated final Fantasy game (briefly available at a price reasonable to those of us who still have the ps2 era game). For those unaware the Final Fantasy series is more like an anthology each numbered game is a new story with new characters and world.

Therefore each game can be played with little to no prior experience with the series. Much of the game plays more like an MMO (with intricately programmable party members substituted for other players) than a traditional turn based Final Fantasy.

Character customization has been expanded from the original game with a new character license board setup. Each character has a upgrade tree based around their job(class) that grants new job related skills, expands equipable armor and weapons, and stat boosts.

This system has been expanded by allowing a secondary job (license board) for each of your party members. This allows you to assign a complimentary job and set of skills to your party members. The graphical update really shines through for me due to having played the original game extensively.

Blurry character models and backgrounds are now crisp bringing new life to to the beautiful world of Ivalice and its characters. I can understand some who may not appreciate it as much especially if they have played newer square enix games (in particular Final Fantasy XV or even to a lesser extent the FF XIII trilogy) made initially for newer and more powerful machines from the ground up.

This is after all a much older game that has merely received a lovely graphical update. Ultimately if you didn’t care for Final Fantasy XII originally I don’t think enough has changed to alter your opinion.

However, if you ever had any fondness for the original game or are completely new to it and the idea of a character driven political thriller in a high concept fantasy world featuring an ensemble cast of playable characters (no chosen one heroes here) then I recommend giving it a chance and I hope it enchants and thrills you as much as it’s dedicated fans.

I heartily recommend this game to anyone who likes RPGs and is looking for a unique take on combat! It’s a hybrid of turn-based and real-time elements unlike anything else I’ve played before. Even other Final Fantasy games don’t resemble it! Without spoiling the specifics, I’ll say that you get to program your party to perform certain actions under certain conditions, while also retaining the option to manually command them if necessary.

Computer geeks will definitely appreciate the If-then style framework of the combat system. There’s also a robust character job system that gets explained early on, and it stacks up well against any modern RPG.

The story of the game is quite good, but it does have some faults (not going to spoil them) that thankfully don’t ruin the overall experience, in my opinion. The most impressive thing it does is give you a real sense of the world and its socio-political turmoil.

Towns are lively, and there’s a lot of fun text to read from the people while you’re exploring. As for the characters, you’ve got a fairly interesting cast, I’d have to say. They adhere to many classical archetypes, but most of them have cool visual designs and intriguing personalities.

All of this is helped by the nicely voice-acted cutscenes this game has. Graphically speaking, this is a PS2-era game remastered for the Switch, so it’s not going to be a visual juggernaut in the technical sense.

I enjoyed taking in the sights, though! Beautiful artwork goes a long way, and this game has it in spades. Now, let’s get to the music! The soundtrack does a great job of fitting the atmosphere of the places you’re exploring and fighting in.

There’s a solid balance between “gritty medieval society” tracks and “upbeat fantasy adventure” tracks. On top of that, this game lets you freely swap between the original PS2 version’s soundtrack, the remastered soundtrack, and the original CD soundtrack at any time! To conclude, Final Fantasy XII: The Zodiac Age is a worthy buy for any RPG lover, even one who has never played a Final Fantasy game before.

This is far superior to the PS2 version of the game released in North America and is the template FF VII Remastered and FF 15 are poor imitations of. This game was the first and mechanically the best MMO inspired single player Final Fantasy.

It gave us the gambit system. A system so innovative it should have been copied or improved upon in every game with AI controlled helpers since the PS2. In short the gambit system is a means of programming AI controlled characters to better perform their jobs.

Do you want the healer to be more aggressive with heals in the boss fight? Up the spell level used or change the trigger to be less damage taken. Want the black mage to hold back on MP while tooling around? Limit them to lower level spells or not casting if enemy health is low.

Want the fighter to use a phoenix down on dead party members? Just put it on the list. The system is amazing and makes it feel like you’re playing with competent people instead of stupid AIs that need constant instructions.

The next thing that makes this game a stand out is the Job system used. Each character can pick two Jobs that give them weapon and armor proficiencies, magic abilities, and stat bonuses. Want a party of white mages with katanas? Go for it.

Want each job assignment to be unique? There are twice as many jobs as characters so have fun. Don’t like how a character is playing? Reclass them. This job system, combined with gambits, is what makes the game play of FF12 so good on the Switch and makes it in some ways better than Dragon Quest 11S, it’s closest competitor.

The story and art are where this game is a little weak. The story is solid in and of itself but is a very dry narrative drawing stylistic inspiration from Star Wars while focusing on politics, shadow governments, and WMDs.

It can’t decide who the main character is either, seeming to have a different lead for different sections of the game. Some characters feel like they should leave when they have completed their personal story arcs but stay just because they are established party members.

That is a little odd for a fantasy game and is made even worse by the often dull visuals with many characters and locations looking like they are in desperate need of a good bath. Comparing FF12 to Dragon Quest 11S or FFX where the narrative is more consistently focused and the art and characters are all much more vibrant makes this seem worse then it is.

For reference Dragon Quest 11S has a very simple AI system for party members which is no where near as in depth as the Gambit System but is two generations newer, much better graphics, a more cohesive story, a very similar leveling system that has a pseudo job system built in, and is just as pick up and go friendly if someone is looking for a new RPG but are not sure about this one.

All in all this game is a great unique experience with a surprising amount of replay-ability and is a great “on the go” option with the Nintendo Switch. If the visuals and narrative were a hair better it would be a five out of five.

After holding off for so long, I’ve finally made the decision to pick up and play FF8. It’s pretty fantastic in light of some blurry backgrounds, and the 3x speed options and various other gameplay boosts help out nicely when I just want to experience the story.

Wonderful visual aesthetic. Amazing soundtrack that I now regularly listen to on Spotify.

I have the original ps1 and I absolutely had to have this in my collection, sad it wasnt available to purchase in my country, but Im glad I found it in physical edition

I love Final Fantasy 7. This movie was mind-blowing when it was released almost a quarter century ago. The plot is really for the most hardcore FF7 fans, otherwise, I could see how some people would get a little bored with it.

But the action scenes are as good as you’d expect them to be. At the time, this was the first glimpse of the modern iteration of the FF7 characters and world (which I believe are the basis of the new FF7 Remake).

In 4k, the movie looks gorgeous. You may be able to tell it’s age a little easier in UHD, but it’s still worth a watch, especially if you’re a fan of the series.

I am a sucker for any 4K animation. It just looks and sounds superb! The story is good although i still have not been able to find the links to the others I own. More 4K animation please!

This movie is for anyone that loves and really is amazed by how great Final Fantasy is. It delivers action and more to the characters everyone grew up with. It is a must buy!!!

Stranger of Paradise is quite the mixed bag of a video game. It combines elements of several different games, the most notable being Dark Souls and Devil May Cry. The game manages to find a good balance on its difficulty without being too punishingly hard and frustrating.

The combat is a lot of fun, the job system provides a wide variety of options for any play style. The game has a loot system that almost overwhelms you with loot with even the most pitiful monsters turning into Loot Pinata’s.

The bosses feel challenging without feeling impossible and taking them down and getting the big reward really feels great. Especially since the main character is such a brute and practically crushes them.

The combat and gameplay are fantastic and it actually becomes rather addictive to play. Unfortunately, for as good as the gameplay is is where the praise ends. This games story is. rather bad and thrown together.

It fails to explain even the most basic elements of the plot and the motivations of the characters especially Jack, the main character are not exactly clear. All you’re told is that Jack really hates Chaos and wants to destroy whatever it is.

It really does feel like they just slapped it together without much fun which is sad considering Final Fantasy’s always been known for their deep compelling storys and layered characters. The graphics on the cut scenes are rough to say the least with many of them looking like they are Playstation 3 quality.

The inventory system is honestly abysmal, with the sheer wealth of loot you end up attaining its almost overwhelming to even start sorting through it all. For all its faults Stranger of Paradise is honestly worth a playthrough just for how great the gameplay and combat are but maybe wait for this one to go on sale.

The gameplay is fantastic, some of the best arpg gameplay out there. It was done by the same people who made the Nioh games and has some slight souls elements to it. The story is also genuinely amazing.

It might seem like it’s leaving out details but the game expects you to think about it and read the lore you find in levels, mission descriptions, and loading screens. There really isn’t anything “unexplained” so long as you pay attention.

The soundtrack is great, with a great battle theme and remixes of songs from past final fantasy games. The graphics aren’t the best but it didn’t bother me, plus they’ve just recently updated the game and improved lighting in some areas.

Performance wise it runs at mostly 60fps on ps5 in performance mode with occasional fps drops and one level having a weirdly bad frame rate. I don’t understand how they couldn’t get this game to a locked 60fps especially with the graphics it has and compared to other games on the ps5, but the fps drops didn’t really impact my enjoyment.

I really enjoyed this game and so far it’s the best game I’ve played this year. The game is definitely not for everyone, but go in with an open mind.

SOPFFO is a action role playing game in the spirit of Nioh. You select a mission from a map and there are no towns you can freely visit. Gameplay revolves around you going through a semi-linear path defeating enemies until you reach a boss or the end.

Combat is deeper than it first appears — this is not a button masher. You just block, parry and time your hits accordingly. There is a robust combo system integrated into the jobs. Precise button inputs are required.

The job system allows you to have any two jobs equipped at a time and you can switch on the fly on the battlefield – enabling even more devastating combos. The core gameplay is fun, however it can get repetitive.

I’m addition, the presentation is really hit or miss. Some of the cutscenes and textures during gameplay honestly look like hot garbage. You can enjoy the entire game co-op online. With matchmaking or with friends.

Your friends must be at the same spot as you or the mission will be locked out from them. As a final fantasy fan I am enjoying my time with this game. Seeing characters and using jobs from the FF universe in this style has been a blast for me.

Final Fantasy fans will get more out of this game. Score: 3. 0-3. 5 as a game 3. 5-4. 0 if you’re a fan of the FF series.

Ok, so this game is indeed one of the finer games on the PSP, and with the slew of unlockables, story, different arcade modes, and multi-player, it’s a game that one could happily spend hours upon hours playing.

The battle system is a little odd, as it’s not a typical fighter. More of a action game, with fighting and RPG elements tied all together very nicely. It takes a few minutes to understand how everything works together in battle, but once you get the hang of it, you just keep getting better and better, and the battles become more and more enjoyable.

The story mode, admittedly, is actually kind of weak, for a Final Fantasy title (at least, every Final Fantasy before IX had a good story). I enjoy the story, personally, but it’s not full of surprises, or played out in the greatest fashion.

It’s decent, but it could have been so much better. That, and the voice acting for some characters is a bit sad. It’s almost embarrassing to listen to sometimes. But there are quite a few characters whose American voice overs were done perfectly (Sephiroth and Kefka come to mind).

The customization of your characters is un-effing-believable. None of the equipment you use will change your character’s appearance, but the amount of weapons, accessories, equipment, summons and abilities you can learn, gain, create and buy are very nearly endless.

Especially with the multi-player items you get just from battling. In that same field, there’s a calendar system in the game that will give you rewards based on what day you play. By unlocking more bonuses through the catalog in the game, you can make these days occur more often, and yield much greater rewards.

The multi-player is 50/50, in my opinion. Yes, it’s very, very nice, it works really well, and the rewards can be unique, but it’s only Ad-hoc. There’s no online multi-player, which is really disappointing.

While my cousin and I played, we experienced a bit of lag, but it was hardly noticeable at all. Very slight, and it didn’t ruin the battle, or the experience. It’s quite a bit of fun, so if you have or get this game, find someone else who does too.

The ability to handicap the level so it’s an even match makes it much nicer as well, so that you can fight someone brand new to the game, without them having to spend hours leveling up first. Arcade mode was a unique addition to the American version, and while it’s a lot of fun, it’s straight forward, with pre-set characters.

No customization here. So, it gets old pretty quickly. However, since you initially only have access to the heroes (you have to unlock the villains via the catalog), this is a good place to go to get some practice with all the characters, as all 20 of the main characters are available to play right off the bat in Arcade mode.

Unlockables in this game seem endless. When you unlock new characters or items, more appear to unlock. As you progress through the game, you get random items and rewards, and more items appear for you to unlock through the catalog.

The museum allows you to see all sorts of Final Fantasy info on characters, and, once you unlock it, the replay editor is here, allowing you to go back over battles you’ve fought and saved the replay for, and allows you to edit them, save them to AVI, and import them to your computer.

Over all, this game is an amazing package, and the only things that really hold it back from perfection are a few poor choices.

The game is the Japanese arcade version. The story is not there. You hv to watch it via anime drawing. The gameplay is made for online which means the A is broken. They didn’t fix it at all either. The worst part is they chopped the game up putting less than half on the disc requiring u to buy the rest of the game for 50 on sale.

You will never get the whole game unless u pay the price for the dlc. If u buy the game it is designed to frustrate you into buying the rest for a hefty fee. This made me stop buying square Enix games!.

This is an interesting game as it puts a spin on the usual style of Final Fantasy by making it a 3d fighting game yet it still retains the usual depth of customization and other Final Fantasy goodness.

One of the best things for me was the fact that it is extremely long. Thanks to trying to complete each character’s story I have barely brushed the surface of this game. The combat system is interesting and requires skill and planning with less button mashing than other fighting games such as Tekken.

This with the extensive customizing of characters allows for a greater control over your characters style of play. Only two downsides to this game for me and they don’t outweigh the pure awesomeness of this game.

First the developers have put a lot of cut scenes in allowing for an in-depth storyline. This unfortunately means slightly less quality in this area of the game. The other is it is hard to understand some of the customizing options.

I suggest read all of the manuals in the games about accessories and just in general if you have not played before. Once you have mastered this the game makes more sense and it will help gameplay much more.

All in all I thoroughly recommend it to most people especially those who have enjoyed the Final Fantasy series and are looking for a bit more real time combat in their game. It is certainly something more for those who play other fighting games.

Since there isn’t a Nintendo Switch version or Xbox One version, we’re doing the PS4 Version. Minus the PS2 original version, they’re all (generally) the same, minus graphics and branding. The Final Fantasy X HD Remaster is an amazing game to own for any part of your (J)RPG collection.

The storyline still holds up after all these years. Revisiting the game after 15 years, the first noticable difference in gameplay (other than the reworked music and menu overhaul) is the choice of having a Basic Sphere Grid or an Advanced Sphere Grid.

(This Sphere Grid system is essentially how you go about learning your abilities and leveling stats). Some spells were added to make some segments of the game more viable and less annoying. Also adding educed load/saving times as a plus.

My only few problems with this game is that the Switch/Xbox Version doesn’t have skippable cutscenes, and blitzball seems to be a big random numbers game. If you can find this, get a new copy. Retails for about $40 but its a solid deal id you can find it at a lower price.

This is an awful product as I bought it. I bought it used. Now let’s circle back. These games are awesome. Full stop. To me they’re the last of the “old school Final Fantasy” titles. The writing is solid, characters compelling, settings rich, and music, in true Final Fantasy fashion, outstanding.

I would recommend ANYONE into jrpg in specific or just great games in general purchase and download this from the e-shop on your console of choice (I’m on the Switch). The hard copy, however, only comes with FFX; FFX-2 is had via download using an included code.

I didn’t know this when I bought my copy. The clown I bought it from mentioned it in the listing, but he didn’t go out of his way to make that easy to see. He just wasn’t a very good person. But the game is awesome.

Just make sure you buy it new, and before you do that, if you’re buying a hard copy, make sure your console’s e-shop still has X-2 available for download. I would just recommend downloading it.

This ps3 version of the remaster comes with the art book, unlike the ps4 version that has other collectibles. As for gameplay, everything is about the same and I didn’t notice anything different. Graphically it is upgraded to be clearer and more colorful, but shadows and facial expressions are more realistic on the original FFX on ps2.

Aside from a few nitpicks on this remaster, I can’t complain much!.

When someone asks you what your favourite Final Fantasy game is, the typical answer you will hear will be VII, VIII or X. My favourite title in the series gets little love from most fans, despite receiving critical acclaim in reviews – Final Fantasy IX.

IX was recently ported to PS4 and I cannot tell you how excited I was to immediately purchase this title and play through again. The game has a gripping story. Playing this title again as an adult, I felt like I understood the story more.

It’s incredibly emotional all the way through. The ending is so beautiful. The core four characters are truly the heart and soul of the game. I also really love that this game is such a throwback, right down to the design.

The medieval setting is a nice breath of fresh air from the grungy Final Fantasy VII and the futuristic Final Fantasy VII. There are also a ton of references to previous Final Fantasy titles that have been cleverly hidden throughout the game.

All that is old is new again. The gameplay is exceptionally easy to grasp. The job classes are reintroduced, so each character has unique abilities, and they can all be learned at a faster pace if you catch on to some small tricks.

There are also a plethora of fun sidequests and mini-games. I spent hours trying to jump the skipping rope and trying to race that fat but fast hippo. Chocobo Hot ‘n’ Cold was immensely frustrating yet super addictive.

This time around, I got obsessed with Tetra Master. I think I had most of the cards collected by the end of the game. I would definitely recommend this game, whether you get the original for Playstation or the ported PS4 version (this version is fun if you’re a trophy hunter!).

I think it is really underrated.

Overall, gameplay is what has become a staple of the whole franchise. What starts out as a simple (series of an) action, turns into a mammoth task to save the world. Graphically, I think somebody goofed with the title and release sequence.

Let me explain: I have played 1 – 10 over various platforms, and in each one, graphics have improved with each new title released. However, with the release of FF9, I found the video to be better than FF7, but worse than FF8.

Gameplay itself, I found the cut-scenes to be too many and too long. I could add more, but that wwill be for another time. overall.

As stated by Francis, FFIX is one of the best of the franchise. FFIX goes back to the roots of Final Fantasy by creating a perfect mix of nostalgic references to past titles, mechanics, and lore. It was one of the first instances they brought back the Blue Mage for example.

and of course Moogles. The story itself is unforgettable. It grabs your attention and doesn’t give it back until the end, presenting beyond satisfying arcs for each and every character. Definitely a must have JRPG.

Tedious game-play. Just tiring monotonous repetitive nonsense. The game is “on rails” the whole time, with the exception of being forced to farm for hours on end until you’re strong enough to continue.

Everything in the game folds up or transforms in some way. Even the Eidolons are transformers now. They literally fold up and turn into vehicles. Are they paying the creators of Transformers royalties? Because they should be.

The story seems like it was written by a 12-year-old. It has all the worst parts of a cheesy soap-opera, Michael Bay’s Transformers, and George Lucas’ Star Wars prequels all wrapped up into one retarded package.

This game is direct proof that Square-Enix has completely lost their way, and have no idea how to make a good game anymore. The apple has fallen so far from the tree that it’s not even an apple anymore; it’s a decrepit, irradiated termite zombie that has come back to eat the tree.

Final Fantasy XIII-2 is by no means perfect, and I am only giving the game 5 stars when comparing to the original. The biggest flaw, and largest complaint by most players is that the ending is shallow and doesn’t truly end anything — true, but I actually am happy that Square Enix is leaving it open and continuing the game via downloadable content.

This gives me a reason to hold onto the game and look forward to playing it again in the future. First and foremost, for using a dated graphics engine, the game is gorgeous. It truly pops on an HD TV unlike many other games out there.

The use of colors, weather filters, and combat details are excellent and unmatched. Gameplay is far superior to XIII. Though it gets old watching the same two characters throughout the game, the monster catching system is fabulous! You can spend many of hours alone just catching and leveling up monsters to find your perfect companions.

This is also one of the few games where I actually LOVE grinding. The battle system is fast paced, dynamic, and the addition of context sensitive battle scenarios along with monsters having their own unique “Feral Link” abilities adds to the experience greatly! It’s great going to old and new locations freely, and being able to play the game as you see fit.

The story is a little lacking, and it’s more lighthearted (similar to Final Fantasy X-2), but it’s engaging enough to keep you wanting more. The music is also a big improvement over the original — yes, there are a LOT of vocals on this soundtrack, but it feels more like a Final Fantasy game with the musical selections they’ve created.

Not to mention the addition of Mog, and the strong focus on Final Fantasy critters and lore, which is something that Final Fantasy XIII lacked greatly! Overall, I recommend playing the game — yes the ending is irritating, but the game isn’t over.

Knowing that this game could literally continue for years is what’s helping with the 5 star rating, and due to it’s overall beauty and feel, you’ll be welcoming it to your console until you get 100% completion!.

If you liked the first one you’ll love this one. If you didn’t like the first one but enjoyed it’s characters and/or story then you should give this one a try because it’s very similar to the first one’s battle system but more improved.

It’s also non linear which is good for what type of game this is. You can tame monsters in here too. My only complaint is that there’s alot of DLC that looks really good but there’s just so much of it.

Overall a very good game weather you like the first one or not you should enjoy this game especially if your a long time Final Fantasy fan like myself.

Late bloomer here, but I recently discovered this remastered version for the PS1, which have to say it far surpasses the original NES release in every way possible. First impressions: The graphics alone are a vast improvement over the 8-bit cartridge, very much to that of SuperNES style and quality visuals.

The dungeons, towns and backgrounds during fights are so nicely rendered that it gives players an added sense of immersion while exploring the world. The music is, well. not sure how to put in words but the themes were redefined quite beautifully.

The feeling I got when entering the temple of Chaos. just something about the piano, violin and the synthesized orchestra, it established a mood to that of ungodly euphoria. There are many improvements also in the mechanics of the game also.

For instance, when buying multiples of an item from a shop, they offer a quantity option which makes the process less of a strain. Buying spells are no longer a headache since there is a description of what each spell does instead of having to guess in the NES version.

I like that they give you 6 characters to name your party members, opposed to just 4, which lets you get a little more creative. Only real issues I had while playing was identifying the updated enemy sprites and correspond them to their originals.

Some enemies go by a completely different name in the updated version, like for instance CREEP in the original game is now called Gigas Worm, KYZOKU are called Privateers, GrOgre is now Ogre Chieftain, etc.

Another issue in regards to enemy encounters is they seem to happen A LITTLE TOO FREQUENTLY, which can become a nuisance when you’re just trying to get somewhere instead of grinding. Also unsure if the numerous bugs in the original game were fixed in the updated version.

I heard several reports from gamers that certain spells didn’t work or some of the battle mechanics were broken or glitched. Apart from the minor programming errors the game may have it is sure to be considered a real gem among fans of the original NES version.

To those who love final fantasy this is definitely worth playing.

Arrived in great condition. Very well maintained. Will definitely be ordering more stuff from here in the near future. Was always a big Final Fantasy fan. Had 1 and 2 on Gameboy advance and psp when they came out.

Will be diving into these when I have time along with 4, 5, 6, and chrono trigger. Highly recommend to everyone.

Great ordering experience with DKoldies been watching them a lot on Tik Tok and wanted to give them a try and Ive never played FF1 so I wanted to give that a shot too and the game works great and I never played it when I was younger but glad I am now.

The story line is one of the tops (in my opinion) of the FF games that I have played. Despite the limitations on the game (due to age and technology available when it was created) graphics are well done and fluid.

Story line is fairly linear with little confusion on what needs to be done and how to do it.

Square Soft was the king of Role Playing Games such as the Final Fantasy Franchise, ChronoTrigger, Breath of Fire, even Super Mario RPG to mention a few but not all. This Vault Come Back was to give a breathe of fresh air to the classic 16bit to when Digital Systems were making their take over of the gaming industry.

The Game is exactly how it was during its release for the Nintendo gaming system, except the added dital scenes to add climax to the story line. The Game is very Entertaining for All Ages a very cool way of visting the Past in the changing world of the gaming indsutry.

As it was becoming aware that cartridges were now becoming obsolete in now thriving digital Age.

Two exciting Final Fantasy games in one package! Both FF V and FFVI are included and both games are as fun and compelling as I remember them! I’m so glad I was able to find this collection at a good price.

If you played FFVII or FFIX and enjoyed your experience, you will enjoy both of these games.

Absolutely love this game and this expansion. The storyline is just so amazing and even if you are not the best at playing these types of games they make it very easy to play and just focus on the main storyline if you wish.

There are also a tone of side quests available and so much content get through. The graphics are gorgeous and the play style is so easy to catch onto. Also great being able to see exactly where a monsters spell will cast so you can get out of it quickly.

Definitely worth the money. Hours and hours and HOURS of great content to play through. It’s also very easy to just pick up and play here and there and also I find it’s easy to just come on for 30 mins to get 1-2 things done and then you can log off so not always a huge time commitment is needed to play.

Great game it’s the best expansion yet!! I almost beat it,. things are getting intense,. can’t wait to see what they do next. The new classes are great too!!.

Just starting the expansion, but there are a lot of improvements and new compelling content since I last played. Hooked again!

I played PS4 version. Waited almost a decade for Square ENIX to get out of its development hell stage to complete this game but I’m so glad they somewhat finished it. A part of me felt a sense of loss when this project changed drastically but I’m very grateful that they involved their fan base along with the changes that FFXV went with.

Some of the changes were obviously because of fear of PR issues, and kind of weird with the in-game sponsorship but the story of brotherhood and the protaganist’s journey was such a ride, I’d join this road trip again with the characters.

Very happy they still kept some traditional elements like the chocobos birds but a bit annoying with the amount of DLCs they made afterwards. As the game industry was changing and the technology to accompany the typical FF graphics, I can see that FFXV took too much money out of the company so they had to rake in the revenue somehow.

Definitely one of the most legendary titles in the company’s legacy, and a bit concerning that I spend most of my life watching the business/Game expo presentations on this title, but what a ride it’s been.

Please consider playing if you wanted to try a Final Fantasy game or just learn what it takes to launch a product like a game into a crazy demanding but dedicated market.

Final Fantasy XV: Royal Edition is good. The game is a lot of fun, with an enjoyable world and fun combat. On the latter, while it took some getting used to, the combat eventually clicked and was a lot of fun.

This game’s main four characters are a ton of fun and have a lot of great banter on their journey. This game’s environments are beautiful, which is crucial when you spend a lot of time driving from place to place.

The DLC is also fun, with the three lates ones adding some important story and character building. The first one adds some of the latter to a lesser extent. Overall, Final Fantasy XV: Royal Edition is good, and if you like open world games, action RPGs, and/or Final Fantasy, then you should play this one.

Final Fantasy XV is targeted to newer audiences of the franchise who have little to no experience with Final Fantasy. The game, in my opinion is okay but it was severely lacking in story. To get everything, one need to watch the Kingsglaive movie, the animated series, buy all DLC, and purchase a book.

For me, this was tedious and extremely annoying. I would rather wait longer for game, if it meant that all of the story pieces were together. However, it all came down to funding which essentially killed this game.

Fantastic game , lots of content, and very fun to play. The community is super nice and very eager to help new players. COST Right now the first month is free and I got my character very high level and made it through the whole first game and into the second expansion a decent way.

After that it’s $15/month. The only down side is the month cost to play but it’s understandable. You could play without spending any extra money (besides the monthly fee) and be perfectly fine because the game provides you with great armor, weapons, and other gear.

Anything you’d buy online with real money would be completely cosmetic except the “tales” you can buy which allows your character to level classes they want to level 70. If you’re like me then you constantly are making new characters in games because you change from wanting to play a spell caster to wanting to be a fighter or some other class.

Well with this game you can have your one character switch classes simply and switch back whenever you want. CLASSES My character has 12 different classes I switch between alot depending on my mood. The classes themselves level up,not the character.

So if you are level 30 with one class and then unlock another class , you’ll be level zero or whatever the game makes that class start out as. You have a decent amount of classes you can choose from when you first make your character.

Then there are many different classes (including crafter classes) that you unlock by completing specific quests in game. Some of the classes start at level 30 and some start at level 50 or 60. My goal when I started playing was to unlock red mage at level 50 and the after that I went and unlocked others.

I bounce between casting spells with red mage , to throwing weapons with Dancer, to swords fighting with samurai , and healing with my astrologist class. TLDR it costs a month cost after the first month to play.

Alot of content, great community , many classes to play. Great game.

With an expanded free trial which you can play through the entirety of A Realm Reborn and the award winning Heavensward expansion up to level 60 for free with no restrictions on playtime???!?? on a serious note, a realm reborn can be a bit (a lot) of a slog, but it picks up once you get to heavensward (granted that’s still like 100+ hours in for non cutscene skippers).

the early story feel very cliche and has issues with pacing imo, but it continues to build on itself and the payoff by the time you hit shadowbringer is amazing. also yes it’s fun to play all the classes, day trade on the market boards, and live out your anime bunny waifu dreams, etc, etc but it’s the story that really continues to live in my head rent-free, and I think it’s super cool what they did using an mmorpg as their medium [insert lady Gaga amazing incredible totally unique never been done before copypasya here] tl;dr the base game gets like 7/10, but as a whole with all the expansions (esp.

shadownbringers endwalker) gets 110/10 from me.

Although this game started as a disaster it has been revived to one of the best in the Final Fantasy series. I have played through the entire game to the Endwalker expansion. Each expansion ties together adding important twists and turns.

The characters are unique and have interesting character development. As for the MMO side of the game, the players are welcoming and have a wonderful community. When you finish the main story there are tons of side quests, new jobs/classes, housing, crafting/gathering, and raids to try.

Final Fantasy X-2 is the sequel to the magnificent Final Fantasy X, which was weighty and emotional and loaded with pathos. So to see this game open with a rock concert animation ending in a “girl power” battle is jarring to say the least.

Even more off-putting is the inclusion of peppy pop music that makes battles too annoying to fight with the sound on. Aggravating even beyond that is the stinging sensation that this was a game made for girls — but a game made for girls by boys who had stereotypical ideas of what girls would like and what boys would lust for: cutscenes of bikini-clad main characters relaxing in a hot spring, sexy poses during a battle that make no sense for fighting — one character’s signature stance actually has her back turned to the enemy — and literally CHANGING CLOTHES for new powersets and status boots.

The main game has five episodes centering around a quest for a missing team member from Final Fantasy X, which is what will draw in most players. However, there are a metric ton of side quests to keep one distracted, and one actually misses out on quite a bit of story if one doesn’t take every side quest possible.

I had to go back and watch some side quests on YouTube to get the full gist of the story. So even though only a few towns available might light up as “hotspots”, you really need to hit every town possible to get the full game experience (as well as access to all the characters’ powersets).

Gameplay is pretty standard and the “dressphere” system is fairly easy to grasp, though there are several powerset-granting costumes you’ll likely never use. The game also includes status-boosting “garment grids” in which to place the dresspheres that determine your characters’ costume changes and which grant powerset and/or status boosts upon changing clothes mid-battle (as well as some static grants in battle).

I only made use of perhaps four of these total, though the game provides a couple dozen — it’s just too time-consuming to change clothes mid-battle, even if you have the configuration option to turn off the wardrobe-altering cutscenes (which, in a few cases, are almost NSFW).

The worst thing about Final Fantasy X-2 is getting halfway through the game and realizing that you’re not going to get the payoff you were looking for going into the game. One of the game’s more challenging themes is how much people change, and that includes the game’s characters.

You realize early on regarding the main character Yunie that she’s not the same person as she was in Final Fantasy X, which can only be expected since she’s no longer a summoner and no longer under the crushing weight of duty she endured in Final Fantasy X.

You go into the game wanting to pick up where you left off in Final Fantasy X, but time and the characters have moved on, and there’s no going back. Ironically, a later sequel called Final Fantasy X-2: Last Mission would be released that hammers heavily on this theme, as it finds that the characters in X-2 have moved on even from one another, each chasing different goals and finding that they’ve consequently grown apart.

(Last Mission is not included in this version of the game — I watched a YouTube video of the gameplay and wasn’t impressed by it. ) I would recommend playing Final Fantasy X-2 directly after completing Final Fantasy X, as you will want to be familiar with the characters and settings from X during X-2.

One of the most attractive elements of X-2 gameplay is nostalgia: Because X-2 reuses many of the characters and settings from X, you’ll constantly be thinking, “I remember what I did here back in X,” or, “There’s that character from X!” The visceral trip down memory lane during a brand new game is a fairly unique experience in video gaming, even as the jarring differences from the original game will probably have you wishing X-2 was more like its predecessor.

Beating the game was not difficult, although occasionally I needed to rely on this or that online strategy guide to help with a monster or two. By and large if you find a good spot to power-level and max out your abilities on all your dresspheres, you can beat 99% of the creatures in FF X-2 — including the final bosses — by sheer brute force.

You may also need to hit the strategy guides to find a side quest or two — the side quests are pretty imaginative and usually worth playing just for the variety, even if the payoff items don’t always seem worth the effort.

That last bit is pretty much a good one-line review of the game overall: imaginative, and especially innovative for its use of nostalgia and new systems at once, but I doubt you’ll reach the end of the game feeling the quest was worthwhile.

So make sure you hit every side-quest possible, as you’ll likely want to make this a one-and-done experience.

The game is sort of like an expansion pack to its prequel. The mechanics of the game have changed however. There are familiar moves and items, but the old fighting system has been modified to feel less turn based.

Additionally, summoning is gone. I’d say these changes are marginally worse. I prefer the new dressphere system over the cumbersome sphere grids from ten. It certainly requires strategy, but you choose which moves to pursue.

The story is a continuation from the previous game, but can’t quite live up to the predecessor. It’s interesting, but still a sequel. If you liked ten, you will still enjoy this game though. Yuna and Rikku are great and the new character Paine is good as well.

I do wish the party was larger however. The game is a bit old, but I think the graphics are fine. I think it holds up. The cost was quite low so the value is certainly reasonable. If you want more classic final fantasy, this is a good buy.

Probably one of the worse FF-games in the history of FF. The only interesting part of the story was the recycling of some characters from FF-X. The fighting system has a significant learning curve unless you are thoroughly familiar with the “JOB” system used in other rpg games.

Sadly learning the system is a fruitless endeavor because the fights are all super easy. The game is beautiful and the combat looks flashy and cool but those are the only redeeming qualities that I could see.

so If your looking for some good eye-candy and just want a story to play through then you may enjoy this game. If your looking for a dynamic and thought provoking RPG that will test your skills and make you feel accomplished in your game time than don’t get this.

The hardest thing to figure out is where you can and cant go in the environment, making travel long and difficult. To sum up, the parts that should be simple are hard and the parts that should be hard are simple but it looks cool and the story is ok if your into FFX and disney channel type junk.

Everything is going fine until the end when the enemies get so relentless with their attacks you literally can’t do anything. The battle system is half thrown together and is one of the worst I have seen yet.

Over half of the battles have you running around in a circle for a good minute before you can even make one move. During this time you are relentlessly attacked with no possible way to block it. In the end (WHICH IS ONE OF THE WORST TWISTS EVER) the monsters are like the bosses in the end of the original but you are still the level of just leaving Midgar.

Yes the game is so lame it ends with Midgar and no world at all. The battle system alone would ruin this game but the dragged out dialog and dragged out gameplay is so boring it made me almost want to just stop playing half way through.

THIS IS A HORRIBLE MISTAKE AND DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY ON THIS TRASH!!! This game right here shows why the Final Fantasy franchise is over.

The game shipped to me with no plastic wrap. A big ugly orange sticker covering about 1/4 of the front. The 2 disc seem new. The inserts are all there, I think. The fact the game shipped to me with no factory plastic wrap and a big orange sticker saying (packaging repair) on it tells me it’s not new.

Not trying to be hit picky people but if you sell a opened and possibly returned game could the description read (returned, in new condition)? As a consumer I don’t like being mislead. The game seems like new have to see if it works now.

The amount of effort that Square Enix have put into this game it really shows. They went to great care with the smallest of details, and the end result is fantastic. The detailed environments really show this.

The whole production feels great. The voice acting is fantastic (and there’s plenty of it), graphics are very good. The visuals and audio are excellent, they do a great job of really capturing the moment.

The battle system is action-based and fluid. Even if you’re not a RPG fan, I think you’d find it quite free-flowing. It’s engaging. I would call the game genre-defining. Such a strong commendation might put people off, but I’d recommend you try it out.

I’ve heard underwhelming responses to this particular Final fantasy. However, this is among the better Final Fantasies in the series, especially in the post-sprite era. The characters are likable, atmosphere magical and expansive, and the adventure compelling.

I will say the pacing in not nearly as quick or varied as in past Final Fantasy games such as 6 or 7 in the series, or even X. But, it’s a calming fantasia of a game with a great nuanced battle system.

Going off the beaten path to find secrets and hidden espers to defeat and have join your party, is time consuming and eventually rewarding. the end is epic, and the leveling up system invites multiple play throughs.

Don’t allow the curse of Final Fantasy elitism keep you from playing this excellent game.

Excellent addition to the Final Fantasy Series. This game plays close to a single player MMO. If you have played FFXI it might work very similar to what you played in that one. The combat allows players to move while fighting instead of the old enemies on the left and your party on the right.

The characters could pretty much be made to use and fight how you want. If you want to have a mage but you want a specific character to do it then you can. The games story is solid but it’s odd how the supposed main character takes a sideline to the plot.

This is again a very solid game for anyone looking for an RPG to play. This is going to be re-released soon for current generation consoles and PC such as PS4. If you want to play it I won’t say no but if you have a PS4 or PC maybe wait for the new HD version.

Im a huge fan of Final Fantasy and I must admit, this one caught me offgaurd. reason being is that this game pretty much goes where no FF game has gone before; totaly new combat system, new interface, different feel which make this game a great game overall.

Though just to clear this out, classic FF fans who enjoy the earlier FFs’ the most will most likely not enjoy this title. The combat system is pretty much exactly like an MMORPG. instead of going from transitions from battle to world to battle to world this game fuses the 2 together.

What i’m saying is that you walk around the world and encounter enemies without battle transitions. You must wait for your ATB to fill up then you can execute your actions, brings a new feel to the FF universe.

Story is where this game lacks the most in my opinion. You just travel place to place without actually progressing on the story much. Graphics are beautiful for the PS2. Interface is neat and clean. There is a new system called License Boards where you must have a license for everything from swords to bangles.

It feels a lot more different than previous FF titles such as 10 or 7. But here’s why i gave this game a 4. The game can and will get extremely boring after getting about halfway through the game. The story just loses its focus and all there is is just battle and move along, but if you can get passed this the game will become fun at the end again.

This is like no other FF titles you’ve played. If you like MMORPG then i reccomend this, if you’re mkore of a classic lover than stay away from this.

This is a remake of the original final fantasy 4 on super nintendo (known as final fantasy 2 in america). This time, the game is presented in 3D graphics, similar to the prior remake of final fantasy 3.

The game still plays are your classic JRPG, with a 4 character party and a job system. A job is basically a category of characters, each category has different playstyles, abilities, magic and stats.

The game has a relatively basic story similar to the other early final fantasy games. This is the only way as far as I know to play the remake with an original cartridge, since it was later re-released on some digital stores.

If you weren’t fortunate enough to be alive when this game first came out for the Super Nintendo (titled Final Fantasy II), then this version is ideal for new games who like playing their gaming history.

FFII was the spark that lit the turn-based RPG rage that took over the SNES, highlighted by it’s sequel Final Fantasy III. If you like turn-based RPG gaming, FFII was the catalyst (not including the NES games), and I think you’ll enjoy it immensely.

Keep in mind that this is a slower-paced game with some decent depth to the story and a bit of character layering. Also keep in mind that older games like this are HARD. They can be challenging (read: near impossible to move forward) if you rush through them.

You’ve got to take your time and level-up. This game is fun and can because it’s on the GBA, it’s portable and can give you hours and hours of enjoyment. Highly recommended!.

This is by far the best port of FF4 ever made in terms of graphics and content. Not only does it have the best 2D sprites but the content has been extended to include Interlude (short so so game) and After Years.

Combined it’s a great value and will give more than 40 hours of gameplay. Perfect for die hard fans of Final Fantasy and those that want to reminisce the good old days. After years has the same feel as the original but completely new plots.

It’s divided into individual short stories by character that will somehow come together at the end. The graphics music and sprites are mostly recycled but the enhanced plot makes it worth it. Don’t expect compelling storylines but mostly a good game to relive the good old days of SNES RPG gaming.
