Best Self Tanners For Beginners (2025 Updated)

I’m IN LOVE with this sunless tanner! I’ve used just nutrive only 4 times now after shower and I have a beautiful STREAK FREE golden base tan. Not only did it make my skin nice and tan it also toned my skin and left it silky smooth with a subtle nice fragrance! I’ve used a ton of different sunless tanners and never again will I use anything but this! Will stain hands as with anything so be sure to immediately wash your hands after.

I’ve gotten so many compliments from people, asking me how I’ve achieved such a great tan already. And from the picture I only applied product to my right thigh everytime and to my left only once, so you can see the difference.

I absolutely love this product and its handmade with fresh Ingredients. I also purchased the skin oil and received 2 samples of hair detangler and rescue cream and love all the products I received.

I am by no means new to tanning, and when I say this is by far the worst product I’ve used it is. It’s orange, has no color guide, has a really strong DHA odor compared to others. I did everything correctly directions wise, I prepped my skin the way I normally would.

I stood infront of a fan for about 40 minutes for this stuff to dry before I put clothes back on. I didn’t even keep it on for the 12-24 hours. I kept it on for 7 and I’m legitimately neon orange and there’s huge white spots still after I spent over an hour blending and trying to make sure I missed no spots.

My mom tried it as well but she tried the lighter tones one and she hates it as well. I don’t understand how people like this stuff, I mean if you like being orange to each their own but I don’t and I’ll most definitely never recommend this product to anyone.

Used it everyday for a week. noticeable color, but in their photos, I expected more than what I got. I really thought using it everyday would really make my skin more dark and fun. Very disappointed that that didn’t happen.

Live and learn. That’s why you try things right? Too bad they didn’t offer samples because this stuff isn’t cheap. It’s a bit expensive for not song what ours suppose to do! Lesson learned.

This stuff is FANTASTIC. I used this for a trip to Disney world because I don’t like to get actual sun damage, but I do like to look a wee bit tan. My skin looked gorgeous – but some notes on use do follow below.

First, exfoliate exfoliate exfoliate. Scrub your a** off. I wish I would have done a better job on and under my chest, as well as on my heels. Make sure to scrub the dry parts of your body like knees and elbows, knuckles and hands really well.

Before you apply, slather your knees and elbows as well as other dry spots like heels with a generous amount of lotion. Let that rest about 10 minutes and don’t rub it off. For best results, use a tanning lotion applicator mitt and rub in circles.

Apply so that you can feel enough lotion to be smoothly applying to your body, but not so much that you can feel your hand slipping around. Rub in as well as you can. Take your time. Patience is key.

Do the larger parts of your body first – legs, arms, and torso – then the smaller parts like face, neck, hands, and feet. YOU WILL NOT SEE ANY COLOR AT ALL. None whatsoever. When this bottle says it takes 2 days for your tan to really appear, it isn’t kidding.

I don’t recommend showering after the first 8 hours at all if you want a really dark tan; just let it go until the next night. When you do wash, make sure you use a scrub or exfoliate lightly on your dry spots and underarms.

However, pretty much immediately (maybe a max of an hour) after applying to your hands and feet, rinse with water and the juice of a lemon on your palms as well as toenails and fingernails using a nail brush.

Trust me when I say you pretty much have to choose between kinda pale fingertips/toes or kinda orange fintertips/toes and the kinda pale ones are way less noticeable. The scent of this stuff is classic self-tanner, to me it’s no more no less gross than the others.

I will say: apply this no more than 2 days before you want to use it, because especially if you’ll be sweating or if your clothes rub you (like my bra did on my underbust area), I do think it only lasts about 3 days.

However, it’s still deserving of a great rating because it’s not at all orange and looks genuinely like a real tan. I did apply lightly and following all the tips above, so I think my results were particularly good as well.

Super duper recommend this stuff for anyone looking for a natural, golden tan without all the sun damage! Not super long lasting but it does work great, look gorgeous, and resemble genuine sun-kissed skin.

I am familiar with a wide variety of sunless tanning products available. I like lotion-style self-tanning products because I find them to be less sticky and easier to apply. I apply them regularly and am familiar with various methods of application.

I would consider myself good at putting the products on. The Bronze Tan self-tanning lotion is easy to work with and has produced noticeable results. I used my hands for the application so that I can have more precision.

The lotion does have a nice smell on application but ends up with a slight self-tanner smell after time passes. Proper skin preparation and even application are very important with this lotion as it will streak or it lays heavy in areas that were covered more than others.

I thought that I applied it evenly everywhere. However, on the inside of my forearm, I had heavy streaking. I also had streaks around my ankles and feet. My skin changed 3 shades darker. It had a slightly orange hue that did not look natural in sunlight.

The tan lasted for five days as described. I then used the shower technique with this lotion (put it on after the shower still wet/damp) I tried this cream directly after a shower without drying off and I had better results.

I did not get as tan but the color was pretty and natural. I did not have streaks as I did before. I will continue to use this lotion dry and update with use.

I have tried several different self tanning lotions in the past and I always ended up with streaks, hands that looked like I used a self tanner, I smelled like I used a self tanner or the tanner just didn’t look natural.

I have finally found the best self tanner out there–all my problems have been solved! I was a little skeptical when I first went to try this–it just looks like lotion–I used it on my face, arms and legs.

I didn’t use a mitt to apply it, just used my hands. After applying I waited 10 minutes for it to dry and then I put on a WHITE t-shirt, I was a little nervous, but had no stains on my shirt. I didn’t really pay attention to how my tan looked until later that night and was so surprised because it just looked so natural.

I didn’t have any streaks or lines, everything just looked so natural. In fact, people are like, you are so tan–did you just go on vacation! This tanner smells pretty good, just has a slight undertone of the tanning smell.

You don’t need a lot to get some good color. Also, the tanner doesn’t flake off or look weird–I plan on applying this weekly, just to keep my color up. Overall, I am very impressed with this lotion and plan on buying more and using it a lot!!.

This was the first time I ever self-tanned, getting ready for a trip and didn’t want to be pasty white at the pool. I just used a couple pumps at a time onto the mitt and started rubbing it on in a circular motion onto one section of my body at a time.

The greenish color is a good indicator of where you might have missed, but as you rub it in the green disappears. Made my wife do my back. This works instantly. As soon as you put it on you are noticeably darker.

I left it on for an hour then jumped in the shower and rinsed off with just water. I’d use an older towel because I had a white one and even though I patted myself dry it left some blotches on the towel that turned pink.

No big deal, there’s going to be some left on your skin after a rinse, I just didn’t want to jump in bed and stain the white bed sheets. I’m on day 3 right now, color looks great. It looks very natural, no orange or weird brown shades, it just looks like I spent a few days in the sun.

I plan on doing this weekly until my trip to build it up a little. Product is amazing, I recommend it and will buy more. Didn’t get a chance to use the included brush, I just used the mitt and wiped my face like a man would so I can’t comment on it.

I’ve always used 6hour wait tans so a wash off after one hour was new to me. After 1st use, I was bummed that I went back to my original skin color immediately and the rest of the day. Happy the next morning to see my tan! I have pretty pale skin so to get a natural tan from one hour of using this was a win.

It lasts around a week on me!.

Very easy to use & does not smell like other self tanners. Actually has a nice scent. The moose is easy to put on & worked well. The first time I left it on only an hour for fear of being too dark. It turned out very natural looking & was not streaked.

I usually don’t leave reviews but I truly love this product. I’m fairly new to self tanning, I’ve only used Bondi Sands tanning water and the B. Tan gel prior to this. Both were okay, Bondi Sands the color was too much for me but good.

The gel streaked me terribly. This B. Tan mousse is the absolute best! I have no streaks, no issues. I think the key is to exfoliate really well. I use cheap wash cloths and then moisturize and wait about 30 minutes before self tanning.

I’m super pale naturally and this gives me a good color. I use it every 3-4 days and the color ends up building. My friend saw me recently and asked if I vacationed! Nope. Just this product. I’m going to try Bali Body mousse next but will deff come back to this.

I had high hopes for the MineTan USA – pasty to tasty self tanner but I’m beginning to think it’s just me that’s the issue! I’m a very pale toned gal, always have been and I have yet to find a self tanner that looks natural on me.

I wanted to start the review with my personal experience then move on to my teenage son who also helped me test it out. I’ll start by saying that I loved the mitt that came with it, it’s so velvety soft and helps spread the tanner thoroughly and consistently which in self tanners, you definitely want consistency!! I did achieve somewhat of a “tan” but I felt like it was so unnatural on my skin tone.

The formula is nice and it doesn’t smell bad which is a plus! Now for my son’s experience, my middle son has black hair and a darker complexion so the MineTan USA – pasty to tasty worked way better on him! There was no orange tint on him like I had, it genuinely looked natural which was crazy because we both used the same product, exactly the same way.

It lasted a good while on him. I think if you are an experienced self tanner then you’ll definitely like this formula and the mitt and more than likely you’ll like the results! I honestly think this shade is better suited for darker complexions and skin tones.

I will start off by saying I’m not a regular self tanner user. Positives: mild scent, typical self tanner smell once applied after a while, nothing too strong. No orange color, a nicer more normal tan color.

Didn’t make my knees or ankles darker than my legs. The mit was nice and kept my hands clean. Negatives: Must shower, apply, wait a few hours and shower again. While waiting you must wear lose, dark clothes.

The only loose clothing I have are athletic shorts and I was hesitant to even sit on a couch or upholstered chair. I left it on for about 4 hours. I ended up with streaks both before and after rinsing.

The deal breaker for me was that the day after applying and rinsing I went to an amusement park, (the whole reason I wanted my legs to be tan). For the first hour I was on dry rides and wore lose fitting athletic shorts, then I went on a log ride and I got wet.

I wore wet shorts for a while before changing into a swim suit for the water park portion of the park. I had MAJOR tan lines, everywhere the wet shorts had rubbed while walking the tan had come off (and was on the inside of the shorts).

So it looked like a regular tan line you’d get from wearing shorts. kind of defeats the perk of self tanner leaving no tan lines. I’ve used better tanners and I do prefer the one and done kind that do not require rinsing.

Nice and light! Super easy to apply too. Very forgiving, and no streaks. It’s not super dark, perfect for getting a nice sun kissed glow, but it is buildable. Also haven’t noticed it rubbing off on clothing!.

This is an improvement on their previous tanning spray. It goes on very nicely, the nozzle has not been clogged or stopped up as often and it smells WAY better. Only drawbacks is that it really does take a while to dry.

Be prepared to wait 10 min for it to completely dry.

I used a tanning bed for several years until I started noticing what it was doing to my skin, especially on my chest area. Living in the South we wear summer clothing 8-9 months out of the year so if your not tanned you feel like an outcast.

Last summer I tried the self tanner, Tan Physics which is a great product. I can honestly say that I believe Fake Bake is just as good. It gives you a nice color. It’s a dark lotion so you can see where you are applying it.

It does have a little smell but nothing I can’t handle. I put it on at night after I shower and by morning the smell is gone. I put on an application about twice a week because I tan either at the pool or beach on the weekends.

This lotion enhances my tan. I have been very impressed with this self tanner and will continue to use it. I just purchased my 2nd bottle so that I will have a spare when my 1st has been used up. I am very please with this product.

Honestly, I don’t understand how some people do not like this self tanner. It is THE best color and doesn’t streak for me. People, USE the mitt, do not try and apply this with gloves or bare hands. As long as you shower, exfoliate and apply this to completely dry skin you will not have any issues.

I am olive toned complexion so the color guard works better for me than most. Try a little bit at a time and really learn to buff with the mitt. Overall, I always come back to fake bake. Absolutely love this original lotion and the smell is very bearable compared to other self tanners.

I have some years of experience using self tanners, getting spray tanned, and naturally tanning by sun or tanning booth. This self tanner is pretty good but not as amazing as it’s been hyped up to be.

The texture is pretty light weight and dries pretty quick. I apply this at night after I shower and exfoliate. This product smells pretty bad but the next day the smell is gone whether you shower in the morning or not.

The tanner is def streak free and has the color guard which allows you to know where your applying the lotion. Being that there is the color guard in the lotion, when you shower the next morning after applying it at night the color guard is rinsed off in the shower and your real color is left.

That is not ur tan coming off in the shower it’s the color guard. But I like how dark the color guard makes me so I leave it the next morning. The color is def more brown with a natural red undertone which makes it look like a normal sun tan.

However, I’m very pale ( typical red hair, freckles with pale skin) and when this tanner is on my face, chest, and arms it looks more brown. But on the inside of my arms, legs, where I’m even paler, the color looks kind of yellow.

The tan last like 5 days max before I need to reapply. The color is not as dark as I thought it would be after one application but that’s good bc it allows for more control by building up the color. Overall, def better than most products and I would buy it again but it just wasn’t as good as it was hyped up to be.

This product is more like an actual self tanner rather than a gradual self tanning lotion. In the past I have used Jergens Natural Glow, St. Tropez Watermelon Gradual Tanning Lotion, and more recently Bondi Sands Gradual Tanning milk.

I really like Loving Tans ultra dark foaming self tanner so I wanted to try this product next. After showering, exfoliating, and drying off I applied the product to my skin like you would a lotion. When I woke up the next morning I was like 12 shades deeper!! Which was fine and it looked nice except I didn’t pay meticulous attention to my feet, ankles, or knees because I wasn’t expecting such a dark payoff so quickly.

The tops of my feet and my ankles looked hilarious but everywhere else was a nice deep, golden, hydrated looking tan. I didn’t even have to re-apply the product to achieve the desired effect. Next time I will use the lotion more sparingly to have better control over how deep it develops.

I would definitely recommend this lotion to more experienced tanners but keep in mind that a little really does go a long way.

This product is SO GOOD. I recommend it to all of my clients. If you’re looking for an easy way to self tan, this is it. I would take “gradual” lightly. I put it on one time and I’m pretty tan (I’m really pale and I use the medium shade).

It takes me 2 minutes to apply to my entire body, doesn’t stain sheets, sweat proof (for me), and doesn’t transfer at all. I use it a couple of times a week after I shower and before I go to bed and when I wake up I’m a tan.

It does have a smell, like most do, but I really don’t mind it. When I wake up in the morning I don’t smell it at all! I’ve been on my same bottle for over a month now so it lasts me a pretty long time.

A little product goes a long way!.

I’ll start by saying I have been spray tanning and using sunless tanners/lotions for years. This was my first time using this product and at first, I loved the tan it gave me! It went on smooth and even.

BUT, I woke up the next day covered in a full body rash that keeps getting worse each day. I’m having to apply anti-itch creams and take antihistamine to help the rash subside. I’m now leaving for a trip to Hawaii semi tan and covered in an itchy rash.

I have never had a product do this to my skin so I’m extremely disappointed. DO A TEST FIRST if you’re going to try for the first time! I wish I had. :(.

With my reviews I always try the product out thoroughly multiple times before giving an honest opinion. I bought (Dark). I been trying out self tanners for a while. Not a master at it but I know what I’m doing.

While the color is natural and not orange at all, it pretty much lasts for 2 -3 days tops. I did following directions the first application and tried a different way the second time. (I actually left it on overnight before my first shower each time.

) it is a tad sticky after application but most tanners I used have some sort of touch base with it (sticky, greasy, or long dry time) the application easy, drying time average length (15-30), it has a green tint when going on but looked bronzed after developing, never had streaks, comes off after second/third shower (sections) it’s not patchy but you can tell its washing off.

The smell for me is average, not horrible and not amazing but I smelt worse ones. (Smell is a huge thing for me) I would say if you need a quick tan that’s naturally bronzed for a special occasion this would be perfect for you.

For a long term maintenance tanner I’d say no, honestly I’d have to reapply every other day and as a single mom I can’t. That’s my review hope it’s helpful. Stay golden 😁.

This is hands down the worst tanning product I’ve ever used in my life. I used the entire bottle hoping that I’d find a way to nail the color, but no matter what I did, this stuff was awful. You can tell that it would be a nice color if it actually developed properly and it doesn’t have an awful smell which is nice, but it never dries after application, so when you shower in the morning 8-10 hours later, almost all of it comes right off.

I’ve tried with a mit and also with latex gloves, I’d say the gloves worked better, but it also didn’t spread evenly with the gloves and would get streaky. Woke up this morning with an entire streak down my leg with no tan on it, and it wasn’t a thin streak from sweat, it was a streak as wide as my hand down my entire leg.

there’s absolutely no way I missed that big of a chunk during application. Even though most of it comes off after your first shower, the rest takes forever to come off for whatever reason, making you look patchy and splotchy all over for days.

And it will still come off on your clothes DAYS later after multiple showers. Do not even try this. I’ll be trying out loving tan next. I prefer st. Tropez over this by far.

This is an excellent product and works wonderfully! It will give you that natural, Sunkist tanned look all the around. However, paying these prices are ridiculous when you can get a five bottles supply directly from the manufacturer for $99 and if you want a set of three, Tanner, exfoliating lotion, and matching moisturizer that keeps your tan for much longer for only $70 on Amazon.

You should not have to pay more than $99 for a five month supply. This is worth every penny and is really no more expensive than other Tanners you buy at the drugstore every day. The only difference between those and this is that this really works and leaves you with a natural tan.

No more orange or yellow tones! I would definitely recommend buying this particular brand just be sure you’re getting it for the best price.

Fabulous product. Lived 33 years in South Florida and never found a tanning product like this. Since moving to the mountains of Colorado, I missed having color in my face as I do not wear make up. As soon as I discovered this product I purchased a bottle.

You only need a very small amount as it spreads quickly across your skin and last for several days. I only need one application every three days as it was the perfect color for me. And once again, life is good.

This is my favorite tanning lotion I’ve tried yet. Have already bought 3 bottles. It doesn’t leave you streaky or orange at all. Good for your face as well. It doesn’t smell bad either. Has a light citrus kind of smell.

Spot test: I did a spot test on my leg, left it on over night (6-7hrs) it washed off okay, but barely a difference in my skin tone. That was disappointing, however I wanted to see how it would do overall.

Smell: I like the spray on smell, better than other brands. Update dries down with a unpleasant tan smell. Rash or irritation: no Dry time: 1-5min waited 2hrs to wash off Method of application: large kabuki body brush.

Wish I think helped dry time and blending! Big girl thought: Was impressed with how little of this product I needed for application. One thing I worry about being big is, how much product is needed to cover my body and how much will I have left.

2-3 day wear before it starts fading off. Fades off horribly and patchy and goes a little 🍊 after a day. Do not recommend, returning products. I agree with a lot of other comments, referring to “it’s a great beginners tan” I wouldn’t recommend this if you’re going away and want to keep your tan nice throughout your vacation because it does wash off patchy.

SALT WATER/BEACH: I live at the beach, didn’t go in the water but just walked along the shore and now the tan on my feet is completely washed off and it looks weird around my ankles. So beware if your going to the beach any time after applying this.

I am coming from using the St. Tropez mousse, which gave me a great brown color (not orange) but I hated the color guide staining everything. This tanning water is great in that it truly does not stain or transfer (I wore an old white tank while it dried to make sure).

It was very easy to apply- after the shower/shaving, I dried off completely and used a mitt to apply. I sprayed the product directly on the mitt and I did not have any streaking or any issues with the product getting on anything.

The color is a bit orange, which I can get away with because I have warmer undertones, but still not as good as St. Tropez color. I think this product is perfect for a weekly application to stay golden during the summer, but would either get a spray tan or use something else for a big event.

I also do not think I would use this on my face. I would rather use bronzer or a darker foundation shade to match me.

Ive purchased every color in this self tan water! The light is soo beautiful and nice for fall and winter it gives you a beautiful light tan! The medium is perfect!! The color is the best golden tan I’ve very had and it actually gives me this glow that enhances my own skin!! I get so many compliments when I wear it! It gives me the perfect golden tan! The dark is super super dark! It’s a pretty brown golden tan! This is a clear formula and it has no color barrier but it’s still SO easy to apply!! It gives flawless color and doesn’t build up around the knees wrists feet or anything like that as long as you use it sparingly and put moisturizer in those areas! It doesn’t smell bad! The color lasts for about a week! It’s a really really great self tanning water!! The only thing I don’t care for is the fact you spray it on it makes it a little messy and your floor will be super slippery so lay a towel underneath your feet! I just spray it on my skin and use a mit to rub it in! I usually do one coat and leave on overnight rinse off and apply another coating overnight and rinse off and this gives the perfect tan!.

I hardly ever write reviews, which I know I should since I rely heavily on reviews when online shopping… but felt compelled to leave a comment because of two reviews I read here. One comment mentions that this tanner “washed away” when it comes in contact with water, and another mentions the “green tint” they got.

These are not product flaws, that’s literally what it’s supposed to do. There is a purposeful tint that acts as a GUIDE for application. It’s SUPPOSED to be slightly greenish and it’s SUPPOSED to wash off lol.

The guide helps you see where you’ve applied the tanner so you don’t miss a spot or don’t blend somewhere. The color develops over 8 hours (when it shouldn’t get wet), then you rinse or wash the guide color off.

Very simple instructions on the bottle that explain that. That being said, St. Tropez is among the best self tanners available. I’ve been using it for years and years and it’s still my favorite. I’m pale with red hair and blue eyes and burn very easily, so I layer on the sunscreen, but I hate being pale/basically translucent.

So I use St Tropez year round. One application every 3 weeks or so in the winter, and every 1-2 weeks in the summer (depending on how dark I want to be) helps me easily maintain a natural looking tan that’s long lasting.

I honestly might buy two of these jumbo bottles. I’ve only ever seen this side during the anniversary say and it’s a fantastic value. One bottle should last me the rest of the summer and the other hurtle for fall-spring.

Usually I buy a new bottle every couple of months! A small price to pay for being able to look and feel my best without the risks of sun exposure!.

I was so excited to see loving tan available on cult, I purchased multiple products from the range straight away, service and delivery by cult beauty were impeccable as always, however I was a little disappointed with the deluxe ultra dark in this range, I have tried every tan imaginable and I really thought this would be the darkest of them all, but for some reason it really wasn’t except on my dry areas which was not ideal.

It was so much easier to apply than any other tans I have used though, it wasn’t sticky all night long and I had no issues with it fading quickly or anything and I have to say that compared to every self tan I have used loving tan really doesn’t have a strong fake tan smell which I didn’t think was possible to be honest.

So if you prefer a more natural kiss of colour then this would be amazing as long as you are extra careful around knees, elbows, feet, hands ect. Thankfully I did purchase the express 2 hour tan as well in dark and I have to say this is by far the best fake tan I have ever used, I am in love with it! It is in my experience darker than st tropez ultra dark and way darker than the deluxe loving tan ultra dark.

it has all of the other amazing qualities of this one but the colour is really rich and beautiful I have definitely found my new holy grail! I hope this review helps if you not sure, if you want the deeper tan go with the express 2 hour in dark (I do sleep in it the same as I do with the ultra dark deluxe) but if you want something a little lighter go with the deluxe version.

I definitely see what the hype is about!.

I recently found my new holy grail but it was out of stock so I decided to try Loving Tan. I got the ultra dark and let me tell you. it’s good but SO not worth the money for the amount of product you get! The Tannologist 1 hr extra dark express (NOT the clear water one) is darker and cheaper than this with nearly identical results.

It also dries just as quick as Loving Tan with zero orange tint. I wanted to love this product so badly because of all the reviews, but it’s seriously not worth it. I applied the tan at 5pm and it is now 8am the next day and I don’t look any darker/better than I do when I wear the Tannologist 1hr express in extra dark.

Is it good? Yes 100%! If you don’t self tan every week then sure, this product is great and will last you awhile and give you a great tan. If you are an avid tanner, have fun going through this bottle and dropping $50 every month or sooner.

To me, it’s not worth it especially since it didn’t make me any darker than I am used to when I use Tannologist. I’m sad that it’s not any better than what I usually use! I wanted to be apart of the hype for this product, but it’s only made me realize that there are cheaper options that give you more product and an IDENTICAL color to this one.

Bottom line – This is a great product and gives great color, but there are cheaper options on the market that give you the same exact results.

I love this! I first tried the regular deluxe tanning mousse in medium, and honestly didn’t really see any results from it after I showered off after leaving it on for like 12 hours. I returned it and got the 2 hr express.

I bought the dark and I read other reviews to get the best experience. What I’d recommend is moisturizing areas like your knees, elbows and ankles before and just places where it could get patchy or splotchy.

I shaved and exfoliated right before I applied. I put it on making sure to do it as evenly as I could and I noticed a lot of people say the 2 hours didn’t give off a good color so I left it on way longer.

I put it on about 7:30 and showered at about 10:30-11 the next morning. Definitely probably would’ve been good in less time but I did it on the weekend and it was just how it panned out. I woke up and noticed I had a streak on my leg from where I must’ve been laying my other leg on it weird so I was worried.

The streak went away and the shower and the tan looks flawless. I’m in love. Isn’t splotchy anywhere, gives a nice really natural color on my skin. I am a bit pale in the winter and olive kinda toned when I tan and this looks great for me! I will say i noticed it felt a little more sticky and I could feel the tan on me more than I could regular one.

I made sure to wash my hands really well after I put it on and this is probably the first tanner where I didn’t still have splotchy orange hands the next day, I just look normal like I have a good tan lol.

I suggest putting this on when you have time to give it plenty of time to develop and you will be really happy with the results. Just put it on as evenly as you can and moisturize to prolong it and you’ll be really satisfied(:

No streaks, blends well, beautiful color. I love the tanning foam one hour express. If you aren’t an experienced self tanner/ pro at your application, get the foam over the aero. It dries, but not as quickly as the aero so it gives you more time to apply and blend.

I love how a little tan foam goes far and how buildable the tan is. I’m fair so I look my most natural golden tan with one coat. For beach days I have done two coats and you do get noticeably more tan!! While you can rinse the product after 1-3 hours, your tan will still take 6-8 hours to fully develop on your skin.

I’ve slept in the foam 1 hour express and I’ve also rinsed it at the 2-3 hour mark and you get the same color so I really like having the option to rinse the tan before bed if I choose or to just fall asleep knowing my results will both look great.

Apply tan to top of hands last and rinse hands at about 30-45 minutes if you plan to leave the tan on for 2-3+ hours. That’s worked for me to get the color balanced and blended with my arm color since hands absorb the color so quickly.

The tan fades so well!! I get 4 great days before fading begins and can stretch it 7 if I incorporate the gradual tanning milk. I apply the tanning milk with the tanning mitt to keep my palms from the tan and it works great.

And most importantly the one hour foam express doesn’t have a funny smell that lingers with you for days after!!.

I, like many of you I’m guessing, have tried numerous self tanners. After a skin cancer scare a few years ago, I’m much more diligent about protecting myself from the sun but also love that tan glow.

I bought the face tanning serum and the dark body tanning lotion. I have tried drugstore brands, Rodan & Fields, Beauty by Earth, Isle of Paradise, St Tropez, etc etc etc. I will say this self tanning lotion is my favorite.

I’m still deciding on the face serum, but the lotion is a natural glow with less of an odor than others I have tried. I like that the face serum contains ingredients that actually help fine lines and wrinkles.

I like that the body lotion isn’t thick or “gooey” feeling and dries quickly. It doesn’t stain clothes. And it seems to last longer and fade better than others I have tried. There’s my review!.

I ordered the ultra dark foam and ultra dark lotion along with a mitt and tanning brush for the first time to try this product. Since my first order, I’ve also tried the express foam. Initially, I accidentally typed the wrong address and they reshipped free of charge.

There was an issue with the shipping (this is the one and only time I’ve had a shipping issue with tanceuticals, and it was NOT their fault), they worked with me flawlessly. I received my product no problem shortly after, and I can conclude that their customer service is top notch and very prompt! I felt very valued and they took care of my issue swiftly! As far as their products go, their mitts and brushes are high quality.

The brush is a game changer for hands/feet/face/blending! The foam smells great and applies smoothly and evenly, creating a beautiful color in only one application. The lotion dries even more quickly and also provides a gorgeous bronze color.

The color correcting technology is REAL, zero streaks or patches whatsoever. The express is amazing quality as well, and gave me the same color in half the time! Perfect for last minute plans! I really love a dark as possible tan, and these products provide that perfectly! If you’ve made it this far, and you’re still on the fence, please give these products a shot.

I’ve tanned regularly for over 7 years, and I’ve tried most major tanning brands/products. This is by far my favorite color and the biggest bang for my buck! Couldn’t recommend it more, as I have been beyond satisfied with my results.

I have tried several self tanners and this has been my favorite thus far! I think the color is the most natural and does not have the prominent “orange” undertone to it. Also, the scent is very pleasant and far from the usual “self-tanner” smell.

I still do notice some transfer onto my white sheets, but less than others I have tried. Also, like with any self-tanner, the quality of the tan application does depend on the user, so it can still streak and be patchy depending on how thorough you are with your application, but overall, it is very smooth and applies evenly.

Lastly, I feel like it does last longer than other self tanners and does not fade as harshly! I would recommend to others!.

I like this self tanning lotion and have purchased it twice. It has a nice color when applying so that you have instant bronze colir and can see any streaks or areas you need to blend better. I don’t like the smell of the lotion but the smell doesn’t last.

I didn’t use it my face since I have face drops. The lotion isn’t sticky or tacky and it didn’t transfer on anything.

I never write reviews but this product was so worth it! I’m EXTREMELY pale, I’m convinced I have no melonin in my skin at all, I cant tan in the sun or beds. This product was a miracle for an upcoming wedding.

Not orange, not streaky. Some spots may be a little brassy at first but washes off in the shower leaving a nice golden hue. First I exfoliated and shaved, waited an hour for my pores to close and then applied the lotion as directed in circular motions with the gloves on.

My skin is on the dryer side, and I have “strawberry dots” on my upper legs so I was worried this wouldnt work like many other products but it DID! I’m so happy. The smell at first is strong but over night it goes away! I only did my first coat in the PM as recommended and I still love the color already.

I will be applying my second coat tonight. Definitely make sure to apply lotion on your feet, that’s the only place it came out a little weird but its fixable. Product is a little oily at first but your skin soaks it up.

10/10 I would recommend to anyone who has trouble tanning and is really pale and afraid to use self tanners.

After reading reviews that were so good and watching a couple youtube videos, I now realize either 1. the people reviewing this item must have been getting some kind or kickback or 2. my product was defective.

It did not have a good fragrance AT ALL! It was difficult to apply and wait to dry. And, it did not turn into very much of a tan after 24 hours. I have tried so many other good products and was hoping this one would be better.

My go to at Sally’s is the Tanwise Water Foam Self Tanner.

There are so many great things about this tan, I love it so much! I’ve been self tanning for years and years and I can’t believe I didn’t try it sooner. I doubted a cosmetics company’s ability to deliver a good self tan and assumed it was just a cash grab from the brand (sorry, Tarte).

But I needn’t worry because this stuff is amazing and exactly the kind of tan I love so much these days. The pros (and there are many) 1. Lotion – like consistency makes it easy to spread evenly. I use my bare hands and wash between sections to avoid tanned palms and this works out great.

Also allows me to use less product by skipping using a mitt that absorbs. 2. The color! Perfect neutral tone for my light-medium, very olive skin. It has a purple-brown base and does not look orange on me whatsoever, even after it develops.

This is the best color for my olive skin I think I’ve found in a tanner (green based tans accentuates too much of the green in my skin and make me look somewhat sickly. Red bases can work but they alter my natural undertone too much and often end up making me look like I’m covered in body foundation.

Orange is never good for obvious reasons). 3. The depth. Also perfect for my complexion. I used to want the darkest tan I could possibly find, but after looking back on pictures I realize how unnatural those tans looked on me (Sosu Dripping Gold, Loving Tan Ultra Dark, Tanceuticals Ultra Dark).

With one coat this legit makes me look like I’ve been out in the sun working on my tan. It is a perfect medium tan, which is what I want being of medium complexion (light – medium in winter). 4. The fade.

It slowly leaves my skin over the course of the week, never ever leaving behind dry, crusty looking patches. I think this is thanks to the moisturizing formula. 5. Doesn’t clog pores so I can use it on my face and don’t need a seperate face tanner.

6. Very little to no DHA smell after showering. 7. Hands and feet take the tan very nicely. No patchiness or unevenness or crazy looking knuckles. 8. I’ve used it twice now over my whole body (One coat each time) and the bottle still feels very much full.

A little goes a long way esp. when skipping the mit and just using bare hands to rub it in Cons: So far I haven’t found one which is crazy because I am so picky about self tanners and have never found a truly perfect one.

I could be nit picky and wish the depth of color lasted a little longer, but there are trade offs and I feel like I’d lose some of its other qualities if that were the case.

I love this tanner for the immediate color and glow I get upon application. It is sticky and thick. I prefer to apply it with a mitt to ensure even application. The color guide allows you to see where you apply but can wear off on clothes.

The bronzing agent does sweat off easily as well and streaks if you accidentally get dropped with water. The color guide can be rinsed off after a couple of hours and initially leaves a nice tan color.

However, this tanning product does not give as intense or long lasting color as you would expect based on the depth of the color guide. There is an unpleasant “tanner” smell even after rinsing the bronzing color guide.

The retail price for this product is more expensive than others on the market that provide better color payoff and a longer lasting results. I will not purchase this product again and cannot recommend it.

This smells better than most self tanners but it does still have the self tanner smell after a while. It smells like cinnamon or nutmeg or something at first and when applying. It is a lotion with bronzer and develops to tan over a few hours (8 per the bottle).

You can also use on your face which is a plus. It definitely seems more gradual than some “express” self tanners but I do have some color after only 1 use. If you dont have a mitt, Try using disposable gloves or be prepared to immediately wash your hands 15 times after.

I used my bare hands once and immediately washed with my bath and body works foaming hand soap. Nothing. Hands still brown. I tried face scrub. Much better but still tinted. So then I washed my hands twice with orange dial liquid hand soap and that did the trick!.

Ive often considered myself as a fake tan expert, skilled in the art of everything fake tan!!! I had some skin cancers removed a few years ago subsequently becoming more sun savvy and fake tan user. I’ve used most of Bondi Sands products, and totally loving the GLO range, which I use everyday.

So with my last happy experiences with BS I bought the new AERO foam range (light/medium, I have used darker shades with other products) when I squeezed the foam onto a mitt it came out pure green!! Not avocado green but GREEN.

Now, I do know many tans are green based, but I have never seen product come out very very green. I looked on line for pics and the foam looked brownish? Ok, so it’s green but it will most likely adapt once applied to the skin.

so in for a penny. I applied to my legs. if I did wake up looking like the Hulk. (sadly, Halloween had gone 😕😑) I could hide my green legs. I left overnight (advised 6 hours). With a sigh of relief I did not have green legs.

colour looked really muddy. but real colour will come through after I showered it off. and off it came. leaving absolutely no tan colour whatsoever? So I don’t know if it was contaminated batch. but I don’t think I’ll be buying this again.

BUT. the best laugh was the response I got from one of BS tanning experts online, Mindy. Even after I sent her actually pictures of the luminous green foam, she sadly avoided this all together. leaving me none the wiser.

I usually use another well known brand, although I have tried a couple of other brands. I decided to give this product a shot because it had good ratings and I was hopeful as this express tanning foam is about $15 less expensive than the brand I normally get.

I used it twice; the first time it gave me a natural color, but the tan was light. I left it on for 3 hours which is supposed to yield the darkest tan. So a couple of days later I decided to self tan a second time to build a deeper tan.

I left it on for just over 2 hours and when I rinsed it off I notice red dry patches on my upper arm which definitely wasn’t there before. I’ve never had a reaction to any of the other brands I used.

I’m hoping the reaction will go away soon. I wish I just got the brand I normally get. I only noticed the reaction on my upper arms. My underarms have a stinging feeling which I’ve never gotten from my normal brand either.

I’m not new to self tanning and I’ve been trained on several self tanning brands when I used to work in beauty so I’m very familiar with the application and development process for self tanners. This wasn’t from a mistake I made.

This was a reaction.

I have been using fake tan for years. I am naturally fair skinned and my go to fave has always been the Bondi Sands Ultra Dark mousse. I only tried the Ultra Dark foam because the mousse was sold out and the foam was on offer, so thought I’d give it a whirl.

I’m such a fan of Bondi Sands Ultra Dark foam (and mousse) Compared to other brands, it creates a deeper looking tan (no orange!) and it wears off evenly, which I really like. No patchy knees or ankles.

Compared to the mousse, the foam dries a lot quicker. I like that too. No sticky feeling, it absorbs really well. There’s also less transfer onto clothes / bedsheets, before that morning shower. The only thing I have found (and this is simply user error, not a complaint!) is that I create a ball of foam to rub on myself, but as I rub it onto my skin the foam ball sometimes drops onto my carpet.

I’ve applied the tan on two occasions and now have 4 splodges of tan to scrub out of my carpet. So maybe do smaller squirts of foam? For me though, this is the best tan out there at the moment and it’s not even that pricey compared to some of them.

This stuff is amazing! I bought this at Ulta and paid a pretty penny ($48 for an 8oz bottle!!!). What can I say, I was desperate! But based on the reviews from MUA and the SAs at Ulta I felt like I had chosen a winner.

I’m not new to self-tanners, I know how to use them but I’ve never really had great results. This is by far the best I’ve ever used! I am a NW20/25 and the Very Dark gives me a natural brown tan. No orange.

And it seems to last about a week which is great! It has a pleasant cherry almond smell but after a few hours that weird tanner smell kicks in. I just use it before bed so that I don’t have to deal with the smell.

It has a color guide so you can see how you are applying it. Don’t freak out when you first use it. it’s the color of chocolate pudding but you won’t turn out that color! The color develops almost instantly.

My only complaint about this product is that it stains your palms. I’ve never had to use gloves with other products before because I would just wash my hands frequently while applying and that was that.

Since this color develops so fast, there’s no way to really avoid it. I still don’t use gloves. instead I just make sure when I’m done to use one of my scrubs on my palms. It helps a bit. You still end up with a slight tint to your palms but nothing freakish in my opinion.

I would also like to add that I’m not sure if this would work for someone that already is very tan. Since I’m NW25 and it gave me a natural look with the Very Dark formula, I can’t imagine it doing much for anyone that’s super tan already.

That’s just my assumption. Most importantly, I read from another reviewer that you can get a big bottle of this for cheap at www. lookingtan. com. An 8oz bottle at Ulta was $48. On this website you can get a 32oz bottle for $40! I will definitely take advantage of that! This product is worth every cent! Highly recommend!.

Ive used this product last couple years. Wear gloves and put on evenly. Dont put too much product on gloves at once. Super fast drying time. Dont love the smell but its not terrible. Gives a nice brown tan look not orange.

I have been using Norvell spray tan products for a while. I wanted to try a different application, so I shopped around and tried 2 different brands of mousse. One of which came highly recommended and the other I purchased on a whim at a local box store.

Boy was I a sucker!!! I used the highly recommended one once and sent it back the very next day! The other wasn’t worth trouble of returning to the store. Needless to say, I immediately came right back to Norvell and will never use any other brand!! I knew their spray tan product was great but now I know so is their hand application product.

I have been a self-tanner for years simply because I am a fair skinned red head, and we don’t tan. I use the Norvell Venetian line and it’s perfect. One of the main selling points of Norvell is their “purple” hue which means you never have to be concerned with looking like an orange popsicle! The smell is amazing too!!.

This goes on best with a mitt and smooths in easily. Takes a bit to dry. I like to put it on at night to let it set. It gives a natural-looking color, although I wish it was darker — it gives me just enough that I am good to put on shorts and a tank.

Shipping was fairly quick.

Great value if you have very fair skin or not looking to get very dark. There is no level of color on the bottle like medium or deep tan. Goes on nice, lightweight and no orange color!!! However, it just wasn’t giving me a dark enough color even after several applications.

Other than that I liked it. The spray on will get you dark but I had issues with the sprayer.
