20 Best Sectional Sofas For Families (2023 Updated)

I bought this because it I needed a sectional that was large enough to fit my 6ft3in, 200 pound boyfriend and also leave room for me and our 2 dogs. It has enough room to where everyone can lay down on it but it doesn’t overwhelm the living room in my midsized apartment.

I am 5ft4in and I can lay down on the chaise using a pillow without my feet hanging off the end. The back and side pillows are a bit too overstuffed though, I wish there was more room on the seat. 19.

5 inches is just enough to where I can cross my legs but it’s a little tight. That is something I can get over though! The sectional is shockingly comfortable—it is cushy but firm enough so you do not sink in.

The charcoal color is a gray/brown color that is neutral so it would go with most color schemes and the pattern is subtle. I have only had this for a few weeks but the fabric feels very durable and like it would not rip, the seams are tightly sewn.

It is a great value overall. I believe it would be difficult to find something that is this size and this comfortable for this price.

I like the couch. I was sad to find out they dont have it displayed in stores. I found it online and of course liked that it was on sale I drove a half an hour to the Ashley store only to find out it is online only.

They showed me similar fabrics and styles so I could get an idea. However I was under the impression it was a microfiber material. As in very soft, it isnt. Dont get me wrong, it’s a soft material just not what I had hoped for.

It’s kind of a scratchy soft. The back cushions aren’t removable, just the seat cushions. And the couch seats themselves dont stick out as far as I had hoped. They are smaller than I thought otherwise it’s very comfy and I am happy with my purchase.

Moving into a new apartment, this couch was the perfect color and fit. Of course, a little stiff at first but will adjust and be more comfortable overtime. Team who deleivered and set up couch did it all within 20 minutes – great process.

I really like the sofa. It has a great look and so far has stood up to being smeared with peanut butter by my kids. The only reason I am giving it 4 stars is that I didn’t like the fact that the support legs were not the same color as the other legs.

My sofa is in the middle of the room and it is a bit odd to have mismatching legs. If your sofa is going to be against the wall it should be just fine.

This sofa is amazing! Looking at product photos and review photos I was worried that it would look and feel cheap in real life, however once it arrived I was positively surprised. The fabric feels good quality and the couch overall looks great.

The only thing I would advise to be mindful of is that the cushions are quite hard.

It came just as pictured and was easy to assemble. It is firm for sure. This is not one of those sofas you can get cozy and cuddle up in. We kept it for a while and ended up selling to get something a little more comfy.

It served its purpose and wore well considering.

Really love our new couch! It was easy to put together, comes with 2 little accent pillows and is really comfy. Few cons that put it at 4 stars: it gets delivered in 6 giant human sizes boxes. Not ideal if you live alone in an apartment on anything but the main floor.

Ours was delivered on the ground floor and left outside our building…. We live on the 3rd floor and I was home alone. I’m a female only 5’2 and most of the boxes were as tall as me. For the price you would think they would have better delivery.

Another con is I’m a little worried about how well the cushions will last. We have had it a couple weeks and they seem to already be deflating a bit and look a little wonky. Overall a great couch though and had fast delivery!.

This couch is not soft at all idk how ppl are saying this!!! The cushion is one whole cushion and it’s filled with polyester that doesn’t hold up well at all! I had to buy more stuffing to make it more plush!! This is not a lounging couch which is what I was hoping for.

I barely sit in the couch cause it’s not the best to Netflix and chill on. I’m also confused on how it’s modular u can’t rearrange these in a new formation. The ottoman is super comfy. I wish the couch felt the same.

I love my purchase! Just what I was looking for. We are a family of 4, 2 boys- a teen and a toddler, and we spend most of our time in the living room. We have an awkward space so it was hard to find the right piece that would fit us all and comfortably.

We all can snuggle on the couch, we can move the ottomans around for more seating, fabric is nice and easy to clean, super easy to put together, and is super cute! I only wish the seats were a little deeper, but they include the dimensions so it wasn’t a surprise.

When we first bought the Katie sectional, it looked nice in our family room. The bottom cushions that you sit on are a firm, high density foam (almost too firm). But the cushions on the back of the couch are just poly filled and lose their shape over time.

They look messy and constantly need to be taken off the couch and flattened out. When they slouch down, the sitting area on the couch becomes very shallow and don’t leave enough room to lie down on the couch.

We’ve had other sofa’s from Bob’s that we really liked, but really wish we had never bought this one. We have the matching Katie chair and does the same thing.

It looks nice enough after I cut several strings that were hanging out, but it came with a hole in one piece and the other piece was warped. Aside from these issues the couch is incredibly too firm. I’m hurting after sitting on it to watch a movie.

Guests also state it’s not very comfy. Customer service is great though and allowing me to get a store credit and pick out new item. I always read reviews and am shocked this rates so high. Honestly they must have switched what kind of cushions they are using since the pandemic because these are SO hard!!!!.

The three-piece sectional is great quality for the price! The dark gray fabric is nice and thick and seems sturdy enough to last a good while even with pets in the house. It comes with five throw pillows the same color/fabric, but I am going to add some lighter colored pillows just to brighten things up.

I wound up purchasing the Ottoman as well since it will basically add a whole other section where someone can recline. I agree with the other reviewer that said it seemed much firmer than the model in the show room.

At first, I thought this was a negative. But, I am sure it will soften up and also make it sturdier in the long run. I actually slept on it the first night and thought it was really comfortable! The back cushions are much more plush then the seat cushions.

I purchased this sectional online and put it together myself once it came in. It came in earlier than expected and was pretty easy to put together! My biggest complaint is that it is not the color gray that is shown at all.

It is closer to a tan color. Luckily for me it didn’t matter too much. The cushions are pretty firm and bouncy. Not as comfy as I was hoping. I wish the back was taller too. I love the size though and it fits perfectly in my living room.

We absolutely love our sofa! We have had it for 6 months and all of the cushions and pillows are still holding same shape. The comfort is halfway between plush and firm. I have fallen asleep in it more than once, and that is rare for me!.

Bought this couch and was delivered within a week. It was a perfect fit in our newly renovated basement. Very comfortable seating with more firm bottom cushions and softer back cushions. Was looking at sectionals for more than twice the price so this is a great deal for the money.

Cute design, looks great. Buuut the seat cushions are like rocks and the fabric seems super cheap. Not linen-like at all, saying it has a linen look is a huge stretch. It is really thin cheap woven polyester.

I can see this fabric pilling and stretching out in no time at all. I am going to add foam to the seat seat and cushions and try it, but i wouldn’t buy this again. I would move on until you can afford something with better quality.

I would gladly pay more for this sofa to have better fabric and better seat cushions because it is a good design and size :(.

I paid for assembly through Walmart so there was no hassle. The assembly guy was great. Showed up 3 hours early was quick and efficient. The couch is great! Starts off very firm but its not an uncomfortable firm especially if you have back problems.

Ive had the couch for about 2 months now. Easy to clean, easy to pull the sectionals apart and clean in between.

This reversible chaise looks elegant and majestic in our living room setup. It has a grand appearance and we seldom run out of seats during our gatherings after we got this sofa set. The cushions are soft and provide gentle support to enable us to relax comfortably when we settle on this sofa set.

I can easily reverse the sectional and change up the configuration of this sofa set and find the storage space in the chaise to be handy.

Highly recommend! We’d bought air feather sectional in the past thinking they would be soft. Not so. This one is extremely soft. They have no smell to the when you unpackaged them. I’m writing this on my own accord.

I was skeptical when this sofa arrived smashed in a box, but after sitting with them for a week, I’m glad I purchased them. While I don’t find them necessarily cooling, they are comfortable for this nap.

It took about 5 months from order to delivery, which is not too bad in these crazy times, and delivery was quick and easy. The color is a dark gray which works well when you have kids and pets. Very happy with my sectional and the right color as depicted online. Rounded corners fit my room very well. Easy to move. My dog enjoyed plush fabric. It will be perfect with a side table. I saw it on the web and went directly to the lovely Ornate Furniture store in Santa Ana.

The crew were friendly. They offer me a very good price. No need to go to other stores. And received it on the same day. Definitely will prefer Ornate Furniture for my other home needs.

I gave it 4 for looks however, the ottoman is cheaply made. and for 300. 00 dollars is should be a better quality ottoman. My daughter ordered this couch about a year ago and it’s not the same as it was.

Her’s was much more comfortable. This one is nice but I already started to sink into the couch after a month. It looks nice in my living room and it’s very large so make sure you measure. It also locks into each piece so it doesn’t move at all.

When moving into our small condo we looked all over for an affordable couch that was usable as a bed for when we have visitors (as we have a one bedroom) and that would be comfortable to sit multiple people.

This couch has been fabulous. The assembly was seamless and super easy to set up. At first we were unsure about the fabric as we worried it would be too rough on our skin but as a couple with sensory difficulties and autism this couch has proven to be extremely comfortable and gets comfier on the skin the more you use the couch.

The couch also has a lot of room and is about the size of a twin bed and can actually sleep two people. We are very satisfied with this purchase!.

I’ve had my Soderhamn sectional now for about 2-3 weeks and I like it. So far my only criticism is that the one spot I sit in a lot turns out to be right on top of the space between two of the cushions, and it’s hard because of the bar underneath, and it pushes the two cushions farther apart, so I’ve had to put a blanket in that spot to create a comfort zone for me when sitting there.

I love that I can take the covers off to wash, and the fabric seems very durable. It was easy to assemble, and I plan on purchasing a second set of covers for the future if I need to replace any piece or just want a change.

I love the look of this sectional, it’s pretty comfy and I also love that it’s modular so it can fit a variety of spaces. I highly recommend.

The sofa looks cool but unfortunately it’s not well designed or constructed well enough. The cushions are super thin with flattened edges that look grubby and worn. The cushions slide around exposing 4” wide gaps between the seat cushions in places that you’ll naturally sit or have your hip/shoulder when lying down.

You’ll end up feeling the plywood frame every time you use this sofa. Very dissapointed.

Arrived yesterday. It came in a perfect shape. Looks really good. Feels good as well. It’s wide enough and very comfortable for laying and sitting. So far no complaints!

Got it before the holidays. Just the way it show on the picture, easy to assemble, lights looks good especially at night.

I’m very happy with this purchase. I agree with the large majority of the reviews: comfortable, good quality, sturdy, durable fabric, easy assembly with a drill (highly recommend a drill, took 20 minutes), great delivery.

I am pleasantly surprised by the gray upholstery – the pictures don’t do it justice, the color looks flat and monochromatic in the pictures but it actually has a depth of color and really nice texture.

The fabric is just right, great quality. I like that the seats are deep and back cushions are the perfect height. I was only looking for a left-facing sectional but it’s actually very convenient that it’s reversible in case I want to change things up or move it in the future.

My only small critiques are that the bottom cushions are not attached to the base like some couches with velcro, for example, and that the chaise itself is shorter than I expected. It also came in one big piece which was very hard to get through the hallway and up the stairs of my apartment but the delivery guys did all the work which was great.

Otherwise, it’s great. Again, the pictures don’t do it justice, it’s a great couch.

Its a decent couch for the price, and the perfect size for my apartment. I ordered it because I needed something ready to ship. But it is not particularly comfortable. And the seat cushions dont stay put.

I have to reposition them after every use. I was able to assemble the couch on my own, which just entailed screwing on a lot of legs. Power screwdriver is highly recommended. I didnt have one.

Just took delivery of my Hamilton Chase Sectional Sofa and I must say it looks great and is very comfortable! Many Sofa’s purchased in Singapore have extremely shallow seating and this one doesn’t! As a taller person I can sit deep in it and relax very comfortably.

At the same time it isn’t so deep that it requires a massive amount of space, so a perfect balance of comfort and space for typical Singapore living environments! My friendly delivery team also loved the product and set up fast.

1)One of side cushions is too long and high to rest the arm comfortably. 2)Initially when i sat down on the sofa in the showroom i found the material a little rough and thought i would get used to it.

However, upon sitting for more than 10 minutes tthe arms and thighs were imprinted with the material pattern. There was no choice of the fabrics, only 2 colours and still feel the roughness of the material on both arms n thighs.

I made the wrong choice to buy the Hamilton set.

Fabric is hard to clean. Sectional is poorly built. The cushions aren’t properly made. only consists of a thin layer of the white soft foam over the dark gray hard foam. VERY CHEAP MATERIALS! Do not waste your money.

Mine was also deluvered in damaged condition, due to the delivery driver being careless with the pallet jack/forklift and punctured a hole in 2 different areas on the sectional frame. Couldn’t even exchange it or return it.

This couch wasn’t my favorite going into the store but I liked the warmth of the color and the accent pillow colors (which was important because I was going for a “look”). It also fit the size space we needed to fill and felt somewhat comfortable sitting on it in the store AND my husband liked it too which was an important factor.

But once we got it in our home, we have been sadly disappointed ever since. 1. It was so rock hard it hurt for me to sit on it for weeks. I’m in my mid-30’s and after 5 kids my body has some issues but I’ve never had a couch that was so stiff it hurt to sit on.

After several weeks of my young kids flopping on it and us all breaking it in it has softened up enough that I can now sit on it and not get up aching but alas all the use has also shown one other deal breaking flaw.

2. The fabric pills TERRIBLY. It was quite soft in the beginning but now every seat cushion has such bad pilling that it feels scratchy and rough. This is the most distressing aspect. It is the exact opposite of what I would want in terms of feel for a couch.

3. It also already has this dingy cast to it making not look as nice either. I knew I was taking a chance getting a light color with five kids so I bought the protection plan but what I didn’t expect was for the overall color to look dingy within a couple months (we’ve owned since early February and it’s now end of May).

I thought it was just shadows at first but we added an additional piece after our initial purchase and when we put it in I could immediately tell there was a difference in the color. The protection plan doesn’t cover overall fading or wear.

We went back to Ashley Furniture because we had a good experience purchasing a living room set from them 12 years ago. That couch and love seat held up well with five kids and a dog. But our experience this time was very disappointing.

They offer no store pick up anymore. We had to either pay $150 to deliver or drive an hour and 20 minutes south to pick it up ourselves. After paying the delivery fee and having it delivered we later wanted to add the one small armless chair and was told we would have to pay full price (unless we waited for another sale) and would have to pay another $75 to have it delivered.

What a rip off! In the end I don’t think we really saved much money using them over other local stores and I really just sort of hate the couch overall. We have no recourse except to try and sell it to recoup a little money and buy a new one which just isn’t possible right now so we’ll have to suffer with it and chalk it up as a lesson learned.

I think we’re done with Ashley Furniture.

Very durable fabric. Perfect greige shade, not too brown or gray. Nice and light shade but not white. Have not spilled any food or drink on it, so I can’t speak to stain resistance. Feels very expensive and fancy.

I was skeptical at first, purchasing furniture online without seeing it first, but I highly recommend not only this company, but this furniture! The material is exactly what we hoped for, the color is unique but matches “today’s” farmhouse vibes, and the depth of the cushions is perfect for cuddling up on the couch without falling off! I would absolutely recommend the company itself, as well, due to being the customer service department was updating me any time they received a status update of any sort.

I am overall extremely happy with this sectional!.

We have had Eltmann sectional sofa for about 2 months. This sofa is a beautiful sectional that easily fits my family of 5. It is well represented in color from the online photos. The fabric is a soft but sturdy chenille style upholstery.

My wedding ring does get caught on it often, but doesn’t create a pull or loop. The seats are firm but starting to soften, we have been rotating where we sit to create an even surface. The back cushions are a firm pillowy feel and are easy to get comfy on.

All the seat cushions slip away from the flush look of the picture by about <3 inches, but not all the way off the couch. It is annoying and makes it look a little sloppy if not fixed but is an easy fix.

The cushions are not double sided. One side is the nice upholstery grey/blue and the bottom is a black polyester type canvas. So, no reversing the cushions. The back cushions are attached. Which has both positives and negatives.

They stay in place and look nice, except for the chaise back cushion. This has begun to sag and there are wrinkles in the upholstery from where the sag has begun to pull at the attachment to the back.

(See picture). Also, the throw pillows are a rock hard 20″x20″. They have a zipper and I thought it would be easy to take the pillow insert and put another cover on it, except it was filled with a loose, brown fiber.

It is a mess to transfer but filled my pillow covers nicely. Overall, I might have purchased another couch if I had been able to get my hands on this and known the downsides before purchasing. This being an online buy during the covid lockdown, I’m pretty happy.

We love our new sectional sofa! It looks beautiful and is very comfortable. We chose the layout that includes the cuddler which offers a nice touch. It was a great buy and a great addition to our home.

This was our first purchase from Coleman Furniture and though the system said it would take weeks for our furniture to arrive, our order was processed and delivered in a week. Our delivery date ended up on a rainy day which caused us to be concerned but the rep we spoke with let us know they had it all covered.

Sure enough, the set was delivered while it was pouring out and the sofa was dry and the delivery men did not track rain in the house. We have a large family so lots of activity on the couch so we are mindful of that and are watching for wear and tear.

So far, all is fine and it’s been at least 2 months now. We were initially nervous about ordering furniture online without having tried it first but the reviews helped which is why I am taking the time to put in my review in case that can help someone else.

We were very pleased with the service from start to finish and would certainly recommend this set and using Coleman Furniture!.

Couches are very comfortable and so soft, delivery came in 9 weeks which isn’t terrible the only reason we are giving them a 4 star was because we didn’t get the longer part of the couch on the right like we requested.

All and all we are super happy!.

I got compliments from guests who came over for our house party. The couch is comfortable and durable even after the excessive use after party.

Not an oversized sectional as it may seem but just the right size in our home. Comfortable for everyone to seat on. Easy to clean if you have pets!

Massiano Furniture absolutely had the better price on the same furniture compared to other stores. Their customer service was excellent. they stayed in contact, giving updates through e-mail or call.

The delivery was efficient. It’s a little scary buying on-line but they made the process easy. I am pleased with my purchase.
