20 Best Sectional Sofa For Apartment (2023 Updated)

I’m so disappointed. I absolutely loved, truly loved this couch when I first got it. It looked EXACTLY as it does in the picture, However, I started noticing issues within the first 6 months that have not stopped.

The fabric pills horribly. It started within the first month and every time I clean it up, it comes back, making the fabric look worn and dingy. It after 6 months, it looked like I’d had the couch for a decade at least.

The next issue was the cushions deflated significantly in the first few months and they lost their structure. I bought this because I wanted an extra fluffy couch and the fact that the name had “overstuffed” got me really excited.

I thought it would be fluffy and comfortable. It never got the same fluff back after 3 or so months unfortunately and the cushion seats have been deflated ever since. Even after intentional and excessive fluffing, they immediately deflate.

I would not recommend this product, especially with this price tag.

We’ve had this sofa approximately 6 months and have been fairly displeased. The material isn’t particularly comfortable, it is quite rough. I hoped over time it would soften, but no luck so far. The material started pilling not long after we purchased it, leaving it looking beat up and worn.

And again it’s been only half a year we’ve owned it. We don’t have kids, it’s just two of us utilizing it. The cushions require constant upkeep because they lose their shape and comfort after minimal use.

For the price, I just don’t think the quality is there and I would not recommend this sofa to anyone.

I wanted the restoration hardware cloud but didn’t want to spend $9k+ for it so I went in search mode for a dupe. I bought the commix 6 piece sectional in white from homethreads. It was about a 3 month wait.

And, I got 3 pieces one week and it was 2 weeks before I got the remaining 3. Overall I’m happy with the sofa. It looks great. It is pretty comfortable BUT the fabric is not very soft and the inner lining that holds the feathers is actually crunchy sounding when you sit on it.

The inner lining that holds the feathers is kinda like plastic/fabric to keep the feathers from poking through to the outer linen/polyester fabric. I’m just not use to a sofa making a little crunchy sound when I sit on it.

The cushions are not “pillow soft” like I expected. And, The ottomans are VERY LARGE ~ Larger than the arm and armless pieces. Also, the cushions have to be fluffed often. There is no memory to the cushions at all.

This sectional has a Very casual relaxed modern look which I like. I’m keeping it!.

Really cute sofa. It was easy to put together; I was a little worried that it all was lock in place instead of bolting/screwing parts together. If you go to move it, you cannot grab both ends and pull up because they will come apart.

Overall it’s an attractive sofa that fits well in my smaller living room and you can’t beat the price. The cushions are firm, but not too firm. It’s not like sitting on a slab of concrete. I will know soon I think on how it holds up, I have a medium size dog that launches off of it and I live with a ‘plopper’ that flops on down with his dead body weight on the regular.

If you’re looking for an inexpensive modern sofa with chaise, that may not be your forever sofa but will do if you need one now than this if for you.

This sofa was exactly what I was expecting! It’s comfortable and fits my space perfectly (I measured before buying). I love the charcoal grey color and love all the different configurations. The back of the couch looks a little cheap but is perfect for my first apartment.

Super easy to assembly. One thing to note is that the chaise is pretty small – I’m only 5’2 and I have just enough space to stretch my legs out, so this wouldn’t be great for taller folks.

I love it, so maybe I’m a bit jaded. This arrived in 2 boxes, and the assembly was easy and kind of fun. The cushions are very comfortable, and it looks really nice in my living room. I have a small home so this was the perfect size for my space.

The corner seat is LUXURIOUS. I love the height and cushioning on the ottoman. The legs were easy to install, but you don’t know exactly how tight to get them so you just have to kind of guess and line them up so they match the others.

If anything, the back is a little low, but it’s not uncomfortable at all. I don’t like cushions that push my head out, so this was the perfect couch for me. The color is more gray than blue but there is blue in it.

It kind of looks like grey denim. The couch took a week or two to arrive, but this was my fault because I didn’t have my phone # updated here. so make sure you do that! I’ve been showing it off to my family and they all love it for the price.

I was very pleased with my purchase. The color was similar to what is pictured. The packaging was very neat and undamaged. Assembly was very easy, It’s very comfortable to sit on.

For the price its a deal! Was quickly delivered and assembled (paid extra for that- but even that cost was reasonable!) Good looking sectional that fits perfectly in my small living room and comes with 2 pillows and the ottoman.

I mean you cant really beat all of that for the price. Id love to give it a higher rating, but a few things comfort wise bother me. The seat cushions dont offer much comfort or support and you can feel the bones of the couch if you sit too long or in certain areas of the couch.

The metal bars that connect the sectional piece are visible in between the cushions. The seat cushions became flat very easily and the couch pillows (back support) need to be fluffed every time you sit because they are so soft and the filling bunches up like an old pillow.

There is an awkward bar in the middle of the sectional that makes sitting on that side very uncomfortable. Ive had it for almost a year and some of the pillows look pretty worn out. But I guess you get what you pay for.

I like it nonetheless. Even with its lived in look its serving its purpose until its time to upgrade to something more comfortable. Despite its flaws, I have referred this couch to friends after letting them see and feel my personal issues with comfort for themselves.

Good couch if you have a small space and/or need something nice on a budget.

I will start with this is an extremely low cost couch for how much you are getting. For a sectional plus an ottoman, its hard to find anything less than a few thousand dollars. With this being counted in hundreds instead of thousands of dollars, the quality is obviously lower, but it is astonishingly good for the price.

I have owned the product for 2 years now and the most used seat cushions have pretty large indentations, but that is after my partner working from home on the couch for an entire year. I have had multiple people ask for a link to buy this couch because it is such a unique offering of price, functionality, and quality.

Its not a 5 star couch compared to everything that out there, but that’s simply because I choose not to pay for a truly 5 star product. In terms of other budget offerings it is a 6 out of 5. I spent a long time looking for a couch and I can honestly say this is as good as it gets for under $800 dollars.

The material is sturdy and stain resistant without being uncomfortable, the back cushions can be removed and it can be used as a pretty generous bed possibly even fitting two, and it is even large enough that it is comfortable to stretch out on being 6’2″.

I went to a local Steal-A-Sofa store with the intention of buying a sofa that I could physically sit on first. They had a really great selection and I appreciated that there were a wide range of sofa prices represented.

We ended up choosing this one because it was so comfortable. We had the sofa delivered, but we put it together ourselves with ease. I’m really happy with the sofa – it’s large enough to have friends over and seat 3-4 people comfortably.

The ottoman comes with the sofa and is really nice as well. There are less expensive options both on the website and in store, however this sofa is worth every penny for its size and comfort.

The color is beautiful. Seating cushion is not its own cushion piece, but is all one bottom unit, making the item cheap, but it’s comfortable. The back cushions are poorly stuffed making the back rest too shallow.

With the couch agains a wall, you will definitely hit ur head on the wall behind you. Assemble is almost easy, obviously the directions are not clear but manageable. I gave it 4 stars because this couch also comes with a gold set or legs, in addition to the wooden legs, otherwise 3 stars.

The black velvet wasn’t dark as I thought it be. The zipper used to attach the back of the couch-to-couch cushion is very flimsy and they gold legs are okay took a little work to get them on. OH and the pillows are a little flat! Overall the piece looks good but wouldn’t be good for everyday use mostly its for show.

This couch is sturdy and comfortable. It is firm, but not so firm that you can’t lounge on it for lengthy tv marathons. Taller people might want to consider that the chaise section is fairly short as compared with other sectionals.

It’s enough that your feet will reach the end if you are sitting up, but you won’t be able to lie down flat on it. Personally I like this feature because it allows for more walking room around the couch in my small space, and I don’t feel a need to lie all the way down on my chaise.

But for tall people who like to recline very deeply with their legs out straight, you may find your feet dangling off the end of the chaise. The blue color is a beautiful deep jewel tone with a soft but textured weave.

It is not a navy couch, but a sort of very deep dark teal-blue. It looks lovely with white, cream, or gray though I’m sure more adventurous decorators would do well with other colors too. The pillows stay in place despite being unattached, which is refreshing from my last couch where they seemed to shift all over the place.

The back pillows do deform over time, and like the instructions say, you will need to flip them and pat them back occasionally to maintain their shape. So you shouldn’t expect the couch cushions to look square and crisp all the time.

But it’s really not that noticeable or particularly different from other couches I’ve seen. The structure is firm but still comfortable, and the materials seem to be of good quality. The slender legs are made of a single sturdy, black metal form and twist fairly easily into the pre-drilled holes for construction.

We did have one small issue with one of the bolts on a leg which simply would not thread properly, which was a shame because all the rest went in totally fine. All in all this couch is very good quality for the price, although I have only owned it one month.

Time will tell how it holds up, but it’s definitely an improvement over the discount box store couch I previously owned.

This is a lovely piece. I have been searching for a furniture that is both durable and well designed. Is hard to buy a sofa without physically being at a store to try it first. The reviews are also not consistent.

I have to agree with this person. This sofa is well constructed. Very sturdy. Just the right softness for my family. ( Some people said is too hard, I don’t agree). The fabric is not hot for summer. Flip it over to puff it up is a good trick to make it look like new.

I got a messy bird, and so far my sofa has survive stain and scratches. My 7 years old son love to jump on it, and I thought the sofa will not survived but it did. It is light weight, but super sturdy.

It is harder than I thought to assemble it together. The hard part is the armrest, and connecting the middle part. Make sure you have 2 person at least to help assembling it. Love this sofa! Everytime I’m sitting on it, I feel like I’m sitting on a designer sofa!.

It’s a lot of sofa for the money we paid. Build quality is superb. You can tell the level of workmanship simply by seeing how precise the fabric seams are aligned on the frame and the cushions. The tag says it’s made in Vietnam – that probably explains! We’re return customers of Article.

Initially we’re a little hesitant buying a sofa without even trying out in person but really there’re not a lot of choices in the market that live up to our needs. We read some reviewers saying the zippers are in the backside of the cushions that makes rotation impossible.

Surprisingly ours are all at the sides we can happily get them flipped over at times. The product people at Article did listen! I would just hope the legs were in black it would make the whole couch look a lot more upscale.

It’s pretty, comfortable and the perfect size for my rather small apartment. The depth of the sofa allows for one super pushy and fat lap cat to sprawl comfortably whilst I do the same.

I had no issues with this couch. At first, I tried to follow the video for assembly and that didn’t work out at all so I followed the written instructions which were much easier to understand. I can see where everyone had an issue with the left arm but I realized that during assembly, the arm and the base had to be held a certain way to prevent the arm from not aligning.

I agree there should be a better method to secure that part as it can become unsecured easily. The larger base must go into the arm instead of the other way around which does seem a bit odd. Besides that, the rest of the couch was easy to assemble.

The cushions are shrink wrapped which leads to wrinkles. I patted them hard with the stick included and most of the wrinkles came out. I’ll go back with a small steamer to get the rest out. Also, dark gray is more of a bluish hue, like a blue jean color instead of a gray color.

I had to resume watching the video to distinguish which pillows were for the bottom and which ones were for the back. Overall, I’m pleased with this purchase. It’s very comfortable and fits a small space nicely! The seller was very easy to communicate with, attentive and handled my questions quickly with attention to detail and care.

Just know that you’re getting a blue gray instead of a dark gray. The two pieces were shipped together and came at the same time so there were no issues with shipping.

The fabric is soft to the touch and I LOVE that the covers can come off to be washed so they can stay soft and theyre not so tight that the seams are stretched or the idea of taking them off and on seems risky.

There is velcro to help the various cushions stay in place. I received it in two boxes simultaneously, and I pulled everything out and let the cushions relax and pouf out for a few days before assembling.

I see in the reviews that one person attached the back such that it pushed you forward when you sat. Sorry, not to be mean, but–youd have to try really hard to get that wrong. You dont even need instructions to assemble it.

Just pay attention and lay things out logically before you start. The feet screw in easy-pleasy. You have to take your time and carefully line up the metal tabs so that they slide into the sleeves correctly, for the back support.

Take your time! Dont panic, dont force it, and carefully ensure you have the metal tabs aimed correctly into the slots. This is the only part thats slightly challenging since the slot is not visible under the black fabric.

Once you do and they are in the groove correctly keep slowly pushing down and you will hear them snap into place. No need to mess with bolts and nuts. And this type assembly felt solid and permanent.

If you take your time and are careful every step of the assembly, the couch wont be lop-sided as some have mentioned. It wont push you forward and, it will feel solid and look nice. I would say this is NOT the couch for large tall, or heavy folks.

Im heavy at 140lbs and my son is about 125. Were both in the 55 to 5 9 range. For a couch that comes to you in the mail, that costs under 400. 00–this is great.

This sofa is perfect for my small studio in NYC! It was super easy to assemble and shipped so fast. I was able to put it together by myself in probably an hour. When I first unpacked it, I followed one of the other reviews and fluffed the cushions and pillows a lot until the werent flat anymore.

Use the stick they give you in the box to hit it with and also just squeeze the pillows and shake them from time to time until you get them to fluff up. Worked for me. I thinks its pretty comfortable for the price and I love that there is plenty of space for guests to sit.

Nice fluffy couch! It’s like a huge pillow! Don’t expect to sit straight, there’s no back support. It’s really a lounging comfy couch. Just look at it and it begs you to lie down in it and be lazy!! Ours came in damage but the issue was quickly addressed by Wayfair.

Exactly what I wanted – a deep, soft, comfortable sofa that you can lounge on. I can’t stress enough how comfy it is. Yes it sinks when you sit on it but I actually like that because I did not want something stiff.

I was living with a couch that can only be described as craptacular. I happened across Burrow online as I was searching for a new, snazzy couch that wouldn’t make me embarrassed to invite friends over.

Burrow had excellent reviews, and since I live in a second-story apartment, I liked that it came in boxes that I could carry up the stairs, rather than having to haul, or pay someone to haul, a fully assembled couch up.

I am also a mechanically-challenged person, but the couch looked like something even someone like me could put together. The couch arrived even faster than promised. Two of the boxes were a little heavy for me to bring up two flights of stairs, but I got a friend to help.

I sat around for a long time looking at the boxes, because, as I mentioned before, I am mechanically challenged and the prospect of dragging it all out did not thrill me. Finally, my 14-year-old daughter took matters into her own hands and assembled it herself.

She did need help with the two bottom locks that hold the arm and back of the seats together. I also couldn’t do it, so we enlisted a friend, who had to use a screwdriver to pop them shut. The couch is beautiful.

It’s a bit stiff, but I don’t mind that so much. We’ll probably get some comfy pillows for it to soften it up a bit. I would 10/10 recommend this couch for ease of assembly, aesthetics and prompt delivery.

Burrow has been very thorough in following up to make sure we didn’t have any issues or questions, too, so big thumbs up on customer service. I’ll buy from Burrow again. I’m leaning closer to a 2. 5 star rating for the King Nomad sofa, but since it’s not an option I bumped it to 3 as it doesn’t deserve a 2 star rating. There’s lots to like about this sofa. The shipping boxes are easily manageable (I carried them upstairs on my own) and everything is easy to unpack and ready to go.

Assembly was simple, and took me about 15 minutes after everything was unpacked. The fabric is very nice. Sufficiently soft but also strong, and the light gray option I chose was perfect. Now the not so good.

The sofa simply does not feel sturdy. The way the seats connect to each other is not robust enough, and the legs are connected using thumb screws. In the 24 hours from first assembly to disassembly for return the thumb screws for the legs had already loosened quite a bit.

This was the main reason I decided not to keep it, I have doubts about it holding up in a house with kids. Secondly, the cushions are pretty thin, I’m guessing to maintain the modern style. The problem is they are quite dense in order to be supportive, and I found them not very comfortable.

I like firmer seat cushions, but they also need to have other layers of softer comfort material. These seem lack that entirely. I don’t doubt for some this couch would be a perfect fit, but for our needs it just didn’t work out.

If you are looking for a cozy couch this is not what you’re looking for. There is no give when you sit down. This is actually what we wanted. My 3 star rating is reflected in the ease of assembly and quality of materials.

The regular seat pieces were relatively simple to set up. Our trouble came during the corner piece assembly. It was basically impossible to get together. The corner pieces not sliding together easily resulted in one side piece’s holes failing to line up by about half an inch.

My husband and I were eventually able to maneuver the pieces to fit, but there is a slight wave across the back where the corner seat meets the regular seat. We also had trouble with one seat’s grommet.

It was completely stripped and the bolt to attach the leg pieces just spun in place. We resolved this issue by making that seat an edge seat therefor using a different grommet for a corner leg piece.

My husband was very disappointed in the wood materials used inside the seats. He says it is probably not going to last very long. After everything was assembled the couch is beautiful. It seems structurally sound, though, looking at the materials used I do not believe it is worth the price we paid by half.

We will not return, it would not be worth $2k to take this thing apart again. It is extremely difficult to assemble if you have a corner piece. I would highly recommend buying a sofa over the sectional.

Sofa was very easy to put together. The neutral color goes with everything. My elderly mother thought that the back cushion was a bit too thick for the way it pushed her forward into the seat, and the seat cushion felt too short for her legs.
