So far so good! You can be assured no spoiler alerts are needed. LOL. Actually, so far it gives an interesting peek into the things and people that shaped who Steve Jobs was. I’m only a couple chapters in but it will take me some time to finish hence the premature review.

If you are a stickler for paper and binding quality this book delivers albeit a bit short on the binding quality. A heavier weight would have been a nice touch but alas is of no consequence. It feels good in the hand and the glossy paper stock resists my clammy hands whilst holding the book in the hot SoCal sun.

Understand the stars given is for Intro – Chaper 3. LOL.

I would like to start this review by mentioning that, as a result of discovering the beyond-excellent engineering of the Apple machines, I am a big fan of the product. I have always loved computers and embrace the power the PC gave me in functioning in that realm.

What the computers were able to do, and in turn allowed us to do, is just amazing. Total liberation. The Apple took it a step further with the production abilities. Be it music, photography or Film, among others.

The seamless integration of on-board components, making for unimaginable processing, make it such an impressive experience. It gave me a chance to really express myself in a manner most meaningful to me.

No longer am I stuck. How all this came together is vividly described in this book. Steve Jobs is a genius that will go down in history along with the Shakespear’s and Da Vinci’s. An artist with a critical eye.

However, the book sheds light on the entire spectrum of the tech world. From the innovations, set backs and triumphs. All the players are done justice. Steve Jobs, Bill Gates, Pixar-Disney etc. , and the consumer are articulated in a way that does justice to the Legacy of Apple and Steve Jobs.

A copy of this Book has a permanent place on my coffee table, just like my furniture and computers have their special places in my apartment. A great book and excellent read. I loved it. I do, though, wish there was more on the nature of the relationships between Apple and peer companies.

Why some products we not compatible with Apple. For example, how Steve Job’s gripe with Adobe personnel was the reason Apple did not run Flash on its mobile devices, like the iPhone and iPad. Otherwise it was a great book.

As a long time Apple User (Mac Book Pro; iMac, Ipod touch) I admired the man behind all this and was quite touched when I knew that he had died so young. I wanted to know more about this brilliant designer and I purchased this biography.

which is quite objective and does not try to hide the defects of this great man. Great man, but lousy human being: Arrogant, insulting, destroyer of characters, cruel, intolerant, bad father. and a long etcetera of bad qualities.

A great book, which makes you think about what is really important in life. I would not like to be like Mr. Jobs. I prefer not to be so rich, so famous, the creator of so many wonderful projects if I have to be like he was, a person who did not care about others and who definetly was NOT a philantropist like Bill Gates, his rival.

The world is going to be a better place without the superego of Mr. Jobs.

I have an early reader, getting stuck on phonetic exceptions and I was hoping this would help (at least help me to guide them). This is a systematic guide using early childhood principles of repetition, and repetition doesn’t work for many neurodiverse learners, and no gifted learners.

It’d be great for tiger parents wanting their kids with zero phonemic awareness to start school ahead of the pack, or kids with special learning needs who need to take a step back with lots of simple repetition.

I fell asleep on the first page, and if my child had seen it they would have looked at me like I had 2 heads and wouldn’t have finish half of the first lesson.

My dad taught my sister and I with this book (college math and highschool math proff. ) and we were reading above a college level by 7th grade. My dad is your typical boomer, so electronics was never part of our childhood, and they were used as an incentive.

He swears by this book and would until the day he died. He taught in an underprivileged school district, and had a 12th grade student who could not read. My dad used this book and at the end of the student’s 12th grade year, they could read.

We gift this at every baby shower, he recommends this to strangers on the streets, and family.

Over the past 25 years we have been teaching our kids to read using this book. The eldest learned quickly in K before we moved. First grade, and a poor teacher/district set her back to not being able to read.

We concluded it was our fault for allowing others to control our children’s education. We decided to homeschool. When we founds this reading book, it was almost instantly helpful. She took to it rapidly sometimes taking 2-3 lessons a day.

By the end of that summer after 1st grade she had regained all her lost reading skills and was now easily surpassing children in the neighborhood in 2nd, 3rd and even 4th grade. Fast forward 20 years and we are still using the same, ragged book, and it is still effective.

Four other children have learned to read using it. Each retained and grew in reading skills well beyond equivalent public school peer grade level all their childhood and even the 12year old reads above college grad level.

We are now using this same book to teach our two youngest children. The 7 year old reads better than public school kids 2 years older than he is and the 5 year old is becoming very impressed with his ability to read words where he once just saw random letters.

Every day is a new discovery for him and his brother now just sits and reads actual books, without pictures, as often as he reads those with. To those advocating that this is not “advanced” and suggesting other programs for older children.

I say they are wrong. Each child will be ready to read and to learn to read at a different time. But, think about it, if the child has trouble reading “advanced” is NOT what you want to throw at him or her.

This set of lessons teaches the child to use one of the greatest advantages the human brain has, pattern recognition. The child learns to recognize distinct patterns in the highly variable English language.

It uses a slightly modified written symbolic representation of those sound patterns to make them easier to recognize and learn. It then moves the child, once the patterns are learned through a logically simplified process of normalizing those new pattern recognition skills so that they can then read unmodified text with the same confidence and accuracy as they could the symbolic text.

It’s a really ingenious method that has worked for and continues to work for all seven of our children, each with distinctly differing personalities and learning types. The older (now adult) children are already fighting over who gets the book for their kids.

We plan to buy a copy of this same book for each of them.

I love this good job reward chart. I got it for my homeschooled 4 year old. We were really struggling to find a new routine after covid. He refused to leave me to get on with the chores I needed to do in the day.

Now he helps me with them. The chart comes with loads of magnetic suggestions like make your bed or put washing in the basket. It also comes with blank ones you can write on. I love the idea of the blank ones but my son tends to rub them off while he is pointing to the chore.

So I have gone back to the ones provided (they are fab, more than enough to choose from) Thanks to this chart (we call it the chore chart) he is so eager every morning to do all his chores. It comes with a compartment to put a small toy (we put a sweet in) so every morning if he has done his chores the day before he gets the excitement of opening it up and collecting his sweets.

It is very well made, my one and only complaint is the line where you write the name got rubbed off while I was writing his name again. I now write his name a little higher and we have had no other problems.

My son loves seeing his chart fill up with magnets as he completes his responsibilities each day! At the end of the week, he gets to pick a special treat.

I gift this book to everybody I know! Despite the somewhat scammy sounding name, it’s changed my financial life around in 2 years since implementing his advice. Ramit breaks down hard to understand topics so easily and in a conversational tone.

And more importantly, gets you to figure out what your Rich Life is and how to pursue that. Went from not knowing what a 401K or Roth was to investing every month while still spending on what I love.

Actionable tactics all the way through. I loved this book.

If you live in Australia, then i recommend reading The Barefoot Investor, instead of this one. This is more American based and its written as if it followed a recipe of “how to write a book about investment”.

You will see this formula in tony robin’s books, Scott Pape (Barefoot Investor) and others. Nothing wrong with that (or maybe there is), but i feel like nowadays the content of best selling books are so similar, all you need to choose is from who you want to learn from.

What formula im talking about? 1-how to get rid of debts – the author will take you to real scenarios of how to negotiate your debt, grab the phone and talk to your credit card, your university, etc.

2- the buckets – emergency money, investment money, etc 3- super funds, shares, diversify your portfolio Anyway, i found a waste of time because i read similar books before.

Sethi provides an easy, yet very informative approach to learning all the basics of personal finance and gaining your freedom. The thought of living paycheck to paycheck isn’t even in my head anymore, thanks to this book! I’m currently 16 years old, so even with no credit card, no 401(k), nor having to worry about paying basic adult expenses, IWTYTBR prepares me and younger adults alike on what exactly to do once we fully enter adulthood.

That being said, this book is very insightful read for people of all ages (I mean, unless you’re like 5, or something). It’s a simple and easy book, one I definitely recommend anyone and everyone should pick up.

I bought this for my child for extra practice. It is the perfect workbook and I love the pre and post tests. Fantastic to confirm his my child is understanding the concepts.

I have been using this workbook for my ELA groups and the lessons are helping them become better writers and to enjoy writing. They now ask if today is a writing day!

I’ll be the first to admit that teaching writing is not my strong suit. This book is really laid out well. I like how the lessons build on each other. I would have liked more of a focus on the common core writing types but I think a focus on the skills included in this book (using senses, using describing words, alike and different) will allow the students to build knowledge/skills in all writing genres.

This little pack was great! It came with a little easel with drawing and writing on it as an accessory for fun classroom pretend fun! My girls loved this small pack. It did not come with too many things and it’s great and simple pack to add to an already existing set or doll house.

This Chelsea pack also had accessories such as a small bear. It was hard to keep track of the accessories since they were small so I would not recommend for children who put toys or others things in their mouths as this can be a choking hazard.

It did not hold my girls attention for too long but when matched with other doll sets that they own they added the accessories of the globe to make a classroom like environment for the other Chelsea dolls they own.

Overall this pack was very cute, well made, and fun!.

This Barbie Chelsea set had my daughters (6 and 7yrs) entertained for literally hours. I love that she comes with so many little accessories. We’ve always loved adding Chelsea dolls to our collection so that our Barbies can easily roll play as mom.

My daughters love playing school at home and this set has given them the opportunity to extend that into play with their dolls. They used the Chelsea accessories in this set to make a small school area in their dollhouse and have been playing for hours with this!.

The Chelsea Can Be Teacher doll is entertaining for my daughter. She says that it is fun, colorful and she was saying she didn’t have a teacher doll so this was perfect timing. She loved all of the accessories and the doll’s dress.

This is the second Barbie doll that my daughter has that has a job. My daughter loves the occupational Barbies. I would recommend this to anybody who loves the Chelsea sets!.

I purchased the Teacher Mug for my daughter-in-law, she doesn’t have it yet – birthday is later. I think she will enjoy it. However, there was a flaw in the mug. I worked on it and it looks OK; however, it also was not balanced properly so it rocked when I set it down.

Filed it down to make it sit straight. Thought about sending it back, but was not wanting to pay the postage. I do wish I could have purchased the “Hairdresser Mug”, but apparently it is no longer available.

How about bringing it back???.

When my coffee gets too cold I typically zap it in the microwave. Impossible with this mug as the handle gets incredibly hot — hotter than the coffee & the rest of the mug. That makes it impossible to pick up, hold, & drink from.

Also the paint around the rim is coming off turning from red to orange. Sigh.

The item I received was exactly what I was expecting when I ordered it, and it was shipped in a timely manner. No complaints whatsoever. Based on the amount of mail I receive on a daily basis that is addressed to someone not currently living here, my home must have changed through a lot of hands in recent history.

Hand writing “Not at this address” and defacing the “intelligent mail barcode” quickly became a chore, which is what drove me to seek out this stamp. Now I get through them quickly – pound pound, once over the addressee’s name, and once over the intelligent mail barcode to ensure it doesn’t come right back to me next week (which has happened more than once when only writing “not at this address” and drawing a big red X through the addressee, because my carrier doesn’t give a duck and pretends not to see it, which is how I eventually learned of the necessity to deface the barcode).

Occasionally some glossy mailpieces arrive that the ink will not dry on – plastic cards from Spectrum for example (I bet half of you know exactly the mailing I am referring to from just that simple description )… for now I’m doing those by hand still, but would consider getting “not at this address” stickers if I stumbled upon some at the right price.

I own a grey female ragdoll cat and she loves to knead! The metal sign arrived in great shape, no bent corners or creases in the metal. It’s just super cute. I have it framed and hung in my office.
