My own original seat eventually fell apart after living outdoors for too long (I have no garage, alas). I needed a new seat. The best value (bang for my buck) was just a replacement for my old seat, an OEM Honda seat.

That’s what this is. It’s lightweight, it’s sturdy, it’s well-built (it fell off the table several times as small humanlike objects ignored orders to leave it alone, and survived such travails intact)(as well, it survived being shipped to me in a box three times its size with no packing materials around it whatsoever, and not a scratch on it), and it’s a joy to sit on now that I’ve put it on my bike.

I’ve read many a review of aftermarket replacement seats on the Goldwing rider forums that complain of this problem or that in quality or comfort, but not very many complaints about the actual Honda seats themselves.

If you need a replacement seat for your Goldwing, stick with the tried and true.

Recently bought a 2004 GL1800 with a Hartco seat that was custom made for a much taller rider. The Hartco seat became very uncomfortable for me after about an hour in the saddle. The brand new Honda stock seat has corrected the reach and moved me a bit more forward.

I am comfortable for a complete tank of gas before stopping, now.

Bought this seat as a replacement for a Corbin custom seat that came with the bike when I bought it. This seat is lightweight compared to the Corbin and has a different center of gravity. The seating for the driver and passenger is a much better feel for center of gravity and bike handling characteristics.

It is a comfortable seat for me and it has good looks along with feel and function. The only down side is I feel that the manufacturer could have done a better job fitting the seat material. I am afraid I won’t get the seat life out of it as the custom seat, but it is a great buy at the price and is over half the price as a custom seat.

It is a good looking seat and it was a nice change over the old sun faded one. Only problem is with my weight I don’t sit far off of the seat pan itself and so I am having the seat foam re-done to give it a bit more support.

I thought with a new seat the foam would be firmer but this was not the case. I found the old seat and new seat were no different foam wise. The foam is molded one piece and requires a little more support than the stock foam rubber.

So, Positive, Nice looking seat. BUT, they should have upgraded the foam on the 2010 build. Seat arrived fairly quickly and I am overall satisfied with the product. (just going to upgrade a little for my own comfort as I ride considerable distances.

I purchased this seat directly from Saddlemen due to my desire for color-matched stitching (my FXDB is Red) and can vouch for the EXTREME comfort of this seat for the main rider. While the seat is firm, it is incredibly comfortable and only becomes a little off after riding for 6-8 hours.

However, a word of stern warning: this seat is torture for passengers! I have had several passengers on the back and they cannot stand the seat for more than 20 minutes. In fact, my wife and I went on the Illinois State Police ride two years ago, before she/we knew about how uncomfortable this seat was, and the discomfort transitioned into sheer torture for her after three hours.

She was literally in tears due to the discomfort. If you have a regular passenger, DO NOT BUY THIS SEAT! I have just purchased a Sundowner from H-D in order for her to rejoin me on rides, as she had refused to go on my bike after that day.

In summary, this seat is great for solo riders going for that Club Style look but should be avoided at all costs if you expect to have a passenger.

I just ordered this from Revzilla on a Wednesday evening and even though there was a warning about delays due to covid, I received it on my doorstep in California Friday morning! Absolutely top notch work from Revzilla.

Don’t know what kind of magic had to happen to get it from PA to CA in basically 48 hours. Anyway, the seat is a great upgrade from stock. I have a 2019 Sportster 1200 which came from a cafe solo seat.

I took a 2 hour ride up to the mountains and when I came back I decided that seat had to perish in a fire because I felt like my hips had seized up, my butt was numb and my back was out of alignment.

Firstly the Step Up is substantially narrower than the stock seat. It’s very noticeable from the moment you get on seat. Even though this can be disconcerting at first, once you’re properly adjusted on the seat, it’s actually fine because the material is extremely grippy and once you’re on, you’re on.

You won’t be moving anywhere. This is in stark contrast to the slippery nature of the stock HD seat. Back support is ample, the rear 90 degree step up does a great job of making sure you don’t get thrown off if you get throttle happy as well providing some stability for your lower back.

The seat itself is not that cushioned. It feels about the same as the stock seat in that regard. Finally, the Step Up will move you back by about an inch from stock. This is great if you feel like the stock seat left you a little cramped after riding for a longer period of time.

If you’re on the shorter side and you already struggle with reaching controls or feel “stretched” on the bike, then this seat isn’t for you. All in all I think it’s a great upgrade from stock. It also has that cool club style look.

Hated the seat at first. After 400 miles I could feel it starting to break in. Now over 1300 it is comfortable! The break in period sucked especially the first few hundred miles. Once it broke in its great.

Supportive, no tail bone pressure I love it. My only complaint is stop and go traffic in Texas. The seat absorbs the radiant heat from the motor. Then it stays hot.

Some folks seem to think that this seat is “too firm”, even comparing it to a sport bike seat. Well, coming off of a Panigale V2, I can assure you that that’s just complete hyperbole. This seat is firm and supportive in all the right ways– great lumbar support (I was thinking of getting a backrest but I don’t think I will now), great vibration dissipation, etc.

And honestly. it’s not even THAT firm. It’s firm, but not rock-hard like some folks say. Fits like a glove on my ’21 FLHT with no lateral play once tightened down. Overall, I’m a believer. Thanks Saddlemen!.

While I loved the stock seat on my ’19 RG, my girlfriend hated it, especially on trips more than about 25 miles. So, off to the dealership I went. I tried 4-5 of the HD “comfort” seats and hated them all.

They all pushed me too far forward and elevated my seating position. I’m 6’1″, 225 lbs, with a 32″ inseam. I already have trouble getting to the rear brake pedal. My heal usually rests on the front edge of the floorboard.

Since I didn’t have any luck with any of the HD seats, I thought I would see what else was out there. After some searching, it came down to this seat and the Saddleman Road Sofa. I liked the price on this one the best, so I gave it a shot.

Since I put this on, I’ve added about 2500 miles to the bike, 1000 of which was a 2 day road trip that my girlfriend and I took. The difference was night and day. I still have to stop every now and then to let her stretch her legs, but what was about 25-30 miles is now about 100 miles.

Pros: 1) The driver position is much wider than stock which does provide added comfort and a bit more stability when dealing with high cross winds. 2) The driver position is pushed back a bit which gives me a bit more room on the floorboards and I can better access the rear brake.

3) The passenger position is wide and flat. this provides much more comfort for the passenger and as a bonus, makes securing luggage to that position much easier. Cons: 1) The front portion of the seat near the tank is a bit too wide for me.

There is a very noticeable pressure point on my inner thighs with my feet down. 2) The driver position is raised up a bit. A taller windshield is definitely next on the list. 3) This thing is THICK and it stands out.

I definitely lost that sleek bagger look. Overall, I like this seat. If I had to purchased another one, knowing what I know now, I definitely would.

I have had the backrest on for only a couple of months and will need to straighten it out for the second time. What good is a back rest if you can’t put weight from your back on it. On my 1500 I had an backrest, made by a different company, that never moved in the 8 years that I had the bike and the thousands of miles I put on it.

For the over priced item from Kuryakyn your would think that it would have been made with better material instead of using mild chrome plated steel in their products! They are good for looks only!.

I bought this seat 3 1/2 years ago after I bought a used 2008 Concours 14 with 39K miles on it and after riding with the stock seat for a 1,400 mile trip (counting riding while there) to Sturgis and back from MN.

I knew I needed something different because my butt was sore after that trip AND I was about to go on a longer trip. I received my Sargent quickly after researching and buying the from Revzilla (because, of course, they were the best deal) and a month later left for a trip (28 degrees F in MN) of 6 months, 15,550 miles (with a lot of stops at family and friends).

I NEVER got sore in by butt, thanks to Sargent and never got sore anywhere else, thanks to the C14! I’ve had Corbin seats on other bikes but chose this due to slighter higher ratings by C14 and other owners and I can honestly say, this is the Best seat I’ve Ever ridden on.

Great quality Biltwell Solo Seat with a narrow profile, a short, supportive nose, gently sloping sides and a subtle rear kick to keep you from sliding off your ride. The pan is stamped from heavy gauge high-tensile steel and features ribs and indents for added rigidity and stiffness.

The four threaded mounting bosses are welded into position and the entire seat pan is black electroplated for beauty and weatherproofing. The foam inside Biltwell’s upholstered solo seats is custom-moulded, medium-density polyurethane padding, not a shapeless wedge of open-cell foam.

What is the difference? Ask your junk that question after a 150-mile ride. Biltwell’s moulded foam will hold its shape long after the cheap padding inside most solo seats has compressed into oblivion.

Seat is 380mm long, 300mm wide at rear, 70mm wide at front and 60mm deep. The spring rear mounting points on the Biltwell seat are 7″ (178mm) apart centre to centre and 8. 6″ (220mm) back from forward front mounting bolt.

What an outstanding product replacement from Summit Racing for the Kirkey 18″ wide hip they do not make anymore. A 17″ Kirkey was just a bit too tight for me and Kirkey quit making the 18″ hip and moved to the 18.

5″ hip race seat. With my side roll bars the 18. 5″ was just too wide but your seat fit perfectly. The Kirkey 18″ seat cover, which they still make, fits the Summit seat perfectly. If you wanted the low back Kirkey 18″ hip seat without the hole they now make I believe you could have the top of this seat cut at the weld and put the Kirkey low back 18″ cover on it for the old vintage look.

Summit should offer the low back (without holes) as a replacement for the Kirkey seat.

I was looking for a set of “affordable” bucket seats for my street/strip Dart to replace the factory bench. I didn’t want the usual plastic buckets and the Kirkey’s (with the covers) were a bit too expensive.

I saw that Summit offered a similar seat for about half the price and thought I’d give them a try. The appearance, and dimensions were the same and upon closer inspection, I noticed they even came with additional bead rolling in the back and head rest – which the others I considered did not have.

They seem well made and I am pleased with how they look in the car. Thanks Summit Racing!.

I needed an aluminum flat bottom seat to lower myself down in the truck cab so my head/helmet would sit further down below the roll cage. Being 6’3” in the plastic racing seats put my head at 1/2”- 1” below the cage in a s10 drag truck, but now this aluminum flat bottom seat has me right at 2inches below the cage.

I made my own “L” channel brackets to mount it for my application. Don’t think this Summit brand seat is a cheap knockoff. It is well made and is just about identical to my Kirkey in my mud truck. Very well pleased in the purchase!.
