20 Best Seasoning For Tri Tip (2023 Updated)

I wish they mentioned things like lemon in the description… I was thinking this would be more like a garlic pepper, it’s not, it’s essentially lemon pepper. It tastes good but wasn’t what I wanted. So for those who want to know what it tastes like, there you go.

This seasoning is the best we has used by Traeger. I found it at Ace all alone on the shelf (the only one). I highly recommend this seasoning for anything bbq or anything else.

I’ve been looking high and low for the Big Game Rub which is by far my favorite. I settled on trying this one which isn’t bad but doesn’t compare to the Big Game.

This is a fantastic BBQ rub. It has sweetness with a little bit of heat, a very nice balanced flavor. Amazing on ribs and chicken for smoking. It is best paired with a very light dusting of a salty compound applied first such as Killer Hogs AP Rub or Goya Adobo.

When the moisture starts to come up then apply a generous coating of The Rub. Sprits now and then while smoking with Coca Cola and be ready for absolute perfection. I have used this product a lot and was buying it from Malcolm Reeds site.

More affordable from WalMart. It is great stuff!.

This is a delicious rub. My family really enjoyed. I allowed the rub to set over night in the fridge on some ribs and some tips. This was my first time using it. I went back to the store and bought two more bottles.

The taste reminded us when we were younger and our uncle used to cook the best ribs in town.

I was sceptical about the flavour these simple spices would bring out. I did Ribeyes 2” thick on the baby Webber q. I hit them with the AP seasoning 8 hours before I cooked them. Placed them back in the refrigerator until 1 hour before cooking time.

Awesome flavour! I also put AP seasoning on baked potatoes right on top of the sour cream and cheese. Kids loved them. I will always have this seasoning on hand from now on.

Its peppery and very salty ,with an average taste ,nothing special. It came highly reccomended from various online sources and pro bbqers ,it wasnt bad ,it was just average at best. I tried it on a tri-tip and burgers and it was just average tasting.

My wife really likes it on ribs. Slow smoked at 212 for 3 hours. Then remove and put in foil with more Sugar Daddy. Add honey and brown sugar. Wrap them up with apple juice. Back in the smoker for 1 1/2 hours.

Remove and enjoy.

This one is a game changer. My new favourite. You can throw on a thick layer and doesn’t have that over salted taste that some of the lower quality rubs have. The flavour of the bark blew me away. Only complaint is that we can’t get it in the larger quantities that are advertised on the sucklebuster website.

I mean really! Adds the perfect flavour enhancement for roast beef and game but wait. the next day slice the meat thin and warm it up in broth for Beef Dip. It just keeps giving. You have got to have this in your cupboard.

This is a family favourite and goes well with anything from Salmon to Brisket. Even great on Cauliflower steaks or courgette slices. Great value and great packaging and a renowned name. Mixed the Treager coffee with Salt Lick BBQ rub on a brisket this weekend turned out brilliant.

I have Try Me Tiger SAUCE and LOVE it. Didn’t know there was a seasoning. So I had to give it a try. Now it’s the only seasoning I’ll use in the kitchen and on the grill. A perfect blend of just the right spices.

I just love Tiger Seasoning and I have turned a lot of friends on to it and they get together and we place an order. It cost less that way.

The seasoning has always been my favorite, but it was not available in my area. Accordingly, I would have friends are relatives bring it from another state so I could have it. Having it shipped in has made the steak seasoning even better for me.

I ordered this rub collection for myself. It was an excellent way to taste the assortment of flavors that Spiceology has to offer. Korean BBQ and Jamaican Jerk were home runs for me as i placed an additional order for those jars.

The sample of spices is a great gift idea or if you want to just turn up your cooking skills another notch.

I like Walmart. I like the products offered. I like the prices. I used spike for years and was sad to be unable to find it during Covid-19, so was very happy to find it once again available at Walmart and have it delivered.

The one thing that irritates me is the online site for ordering. It seems to have a mind of its own and gives me grief every time I attempt to put in on order!.

I’m addictive to PRIME RIB RUB!! I can’t add enough to everything I cook! It 10x better then the memory of my first Rub on prom night! It’s amazing on Elk and Deer! I ran out tonight and can’t wait a day to order more!.

I was excited to try this, when I opened the box there were spices that leaked out all over from the container. The have a “freshness seal” but only on one side of the container, the other side can easily open and there is no other seal preventing the spices from leaking out during shipment.

I prefer to use products that are properly sealed. Traeger should change their packaging on the rubs.

I cooked up some ground venison and eggs one day to try it out, and it had a pretty gamey taste to it. It was actually unpleasant to eat. I figured I would give this venison spice mix a try, on the same batch of ground venison, and it tastes just like steak and eggs.

I purchased the Poultry Rub, Steak Rub and Garlic Pepper Rub. The rosemary in the Poultry Rub was a bit intense for my taste but not enough to knock it, others loved it. The Steak Rub is excellent on steaks and burgers.

I found the Garlic Rub good on many things and enjoyed it on vegetables.

I first tried a small bottle of this and fell in love ! The balance between garlic and pepper is perfect on burgers, and dogs, I even started using this on French fries it’s delicious! And after much searching on the internet you simply can’t find a better price than Mills Thank you!.

A little heat from pepper and other ingredients but I loved it.

This is my fav steak and burger seasoning! Every time I have company and use it, they always what to know what I’ve used.

Seasoning was decent. It has a little too much pepper in it.

This seasoning is great when you want to just accentuate the natural flavors of your protein or vegetables. It doesn’t steer the palate into one particular direction, which makes it great for using on anything from burgers to shrimp.

Some may find it to be a little “vanilla,” but this seasoning is meant to be a utility player and not dominate.

Excellent Rub. I use it for Air Fryer Chicken wings, Kamado Roasted Chickens. If it has wings, give it a try

I love all of the bbq rubs from this brand. Taste great and doesnt have any ingredients other than the spices. They are extremely tasty and gluten free which is a great selling point. I specifically look for this brand now.

A little goes along way with this blend, which has just the right amount of garlic-peppery kick to it. We’ve been making it into a paste with some EVOO (just eyeball the amount, depending on how much salmon you have, as long as you have a nice paste) and brushing it JUDICIOUSLY, or you will overwhelm the delicate taste of the fish) onto an entire salmon filet before squirting on some fresh lemon juice and broiling it in the oven.

The Santa Maria Sea Salted BBQ Rub is a fresh way to serve fish!.

Savory spice included a sample pack of this in one of my orders. I used it on ribs. My husband sat at the table and with every bite said, “oh this is good!” I’m buying more for sure!

So I’ve been looking for a rub for years now because everything that isn’t spicy has cinnamon. This rub is amazing I find myself pouring it into my hand and just snackin on it. I use it for everything.

I use this on steak and brisket. I get rave reviews from the many people that attend my bbqs. I love the flavor profile on beef. I keep a good stock of this rub on hand at all times. There is nothing better and I have tried almost all of them.

Absolutely delicious! This rub is great on just about everything. Beef, chicken, pork, veggies. Hell, the other night I even put some in some white rice that I was cooking.

This has the right blend of seasonings and the perfect grind to create a great bark on my briskets. I’ve also used it on quality steaks, it doesn’t detract from the natural flavors of the beef.

When I first started making venison jerky I tried Backwoods brand. Then I used recipes off internet. Then I tried my own recipes. My husband said his favorite was what I used initially. So why make it hard.

I just buy Backwoods in bulk. Our favorite is mesquite and original. I pound cracked pepper in meat after marinating venison a few days before dehydration.

So when I make jerky, its mostly with ground meat. I tend to do a lot of jerky making with ground turkey 93/7 because of the cost, and that I can make more vs beef for less. Turkey jerky the ground method comes out better then ground beef, because the meat fibers is stringy and not crumbly like beef, and the Mesquite is the best to flavor ground Turkey.

I have made so many batch’s of turkey jerky with the mesquite, I have had people ask me about how I got into the hobby of making jerky. I use to use other brands of seasoning mixes, but when I discovered backwoods mesquite, it was a hit.

I tried making ground beef jerky with the mix, but mesquite does not do well with beef, and tends to do a lot better with poultry like turkey. I get 5 pounds of turkey from my local Sams club for around 10 dollars, and the seasoning packet for around 3-4 dollars at my local sporting goods store.

I at least fill up 2 gallon zip lock bags of the finished turkey jerky that lasts for awhile. I have tried using hickory with turkey, and did not pair well compared to the mesquite blend. I will continue to buy this products for my turkey jerky making, because I love the quality of the taste of the finished products.

I’ve been making ground meat jerky for a while now. I tried this mix with some moose meat mixed with a small amount of brisket fat. The flavour is excellent. I followed the directions using a stand mixer to combine the ingredients.

I let everything rest overnight, shot the jerky the next morning with my LEM Jerky gun and baked in my oven at 180˚ for 3 hours.

I received the Blackstone Teriyaki Seasoning. I used it on salmon. Very simple. sprinkle it on and cook the salmon however you prefer. I pan fried it and it gave the salmon a nice glaze. Just olive oil and the teriyaki seasoning is all that was needed.

It had a really good flavor, but I wasn’t getting “teriyaki”. If I had a blindfold on, I would have thought it was a lemon seasoning. It had a sour taste, instead of a sweeter teriyaki taste. It was good though.

I looked at the ingredients and the first ingredients were sugar, salt, citrus acid, and vinegar powder. That explains the strong sour taste. It also contained orange juice concentrate, which helps to explain the citrus taste.

I looked online for recipes and you can sprinkle this on any meat and grill, bake, fry, or broil. It all looks good and easy. I saw a recipe where they made stir fried rice, which looked amazing and another one where they used it on pineapple! Delish! I would like to try to mix it with oil and/or water and try it as a marinade to get a stronger flavor.

It’s fun to experiment! All and all, I would say it tastes good, but not like teriyaki. Good product to try!!!.

This Blackstone Teriyaki Seasoning is super yummy. I loved using it when cooking on my stove top and my chicken came out great. My husband used it when making fried rice and was very pleased with the flavor.

We also used it when we grilled shrimp on our charcoal grill. This was the tastiest of all. I highly recommend having this teriyaki seasoning on hand to jazz up your menu. My family is a big fan of this flavor in general and I’m glad we finally found a seasoning we all like.

I look forward to trying it out on more meats and dishes.
