20 Best Seasoning For Thanksgiving Turkey (2023 Updated)

Purchased it in 2014. The other day, Christmas Eve 2020 I found it going thru my spices. Both packets were still sealed. There was no weird smell of the ingredients so I decided to try it. Brined the turkey overnight.

It turned out great!!!! Was I taking a chance? Of course but I had to try it, besides we had a ham too.

I cannot recommend this product enough. We used it last Thanksgiving for the first time and I later regretted not buying two kits so I’d have one for Christmas not to mention my husband (who is not a lover of turkey) kept raving it was the best turkey he has ever had! He said if turkey had tasted like this he would have been eating it at the holidays.

Not only does this kit produce the moistest and most tasty turkey, but it also comes with everything you need – especially the bag, which when purchased separately can easily cost $4 and up. I’m so glad Walmart is carrying this special item!.

I just poured the water and brine mixture as per directions. For a 23. 7 lb turkey it was impossible to fully seal the bag, even after removing some water/mixture and still making sure the turkey was still fully covered.

I am sure it would seal with a smaller turkey, but for this size turkey beware. You may have to purchase a bigger bag separately. So one star off, other than that I am sure the flavor will be great after cooking, thus one star off.

I have used the brining method to cook a turkey for Thanksgiving for many years. I’ve used various brine kits over the years, even making my own brine. This product comes with a large, ziplock type of bag which is awesome.

This product is easy to use. It gives the turkey a wonderful taste and makes the turkey so moist. I have relatives that do not like turkey too much. however. when I brine a turkey with this product. they go crazy over it.

This brine is very good and makes a wonderful turkey – I love it. The turkey is moist and flavorful and with the brine bag, the process is simple. I just cooked a turkey breast without brining it and was truly disappointed in the flavor.

This brine is also extremely expensive for what it is – I hate it. Every time I buy it, I think very hard on whether I need it, truly want it. There will come a time when I decide I don’t need it at that price.

Considering the amount of apple juice, vinegar and water is required for the brine, the herbs didn’t really add as much flavor to the meat as I was hoping. It was good, but I was really hoping for the sage and other her flavors to really come through – they were good, just not great.

Will probably try something else next time around.

The brine and rub were a hit. Really delicious. The brining bag had holes in it and was not usable. Very disappointing.

Convenient kit makes this a cinch. Bag is heavy duty so no worries about leaks. Recommend a deep pot to hold bag with turkey while pouring in the brine to give enough support; a standard roasting pan’s sides are not tall enough.

Turkey breast was wonderfully juicy. You will be a convert once you try this.

I had to cook 2 turkeys this year. With the first turkey I used Fresh rosemary, basil, thyme, oranges, lemons, kosher salt, apple cider and Butter to rub just under the skin. The second I used this Kinders Kit! By far the easiest and most flavorful turkey I have ever made.

I mixed 1/3 of the seasoning packet (not the Brine packet) with a half a stick of butter and rubbed it over the breast under the skin. It was delicious, juicy and gone. Not a piece left! I will never use anything different.

Created the best, flavorful, well seasoned turkey I ever ate. The skin, white, and dark meat tasted great! Did not rinse off the skin before putting it in the oven so I could have the seasoning bake onto the skin for more flavor.

I had no issue with the brine bag itself, but I placed the turkey into the brine bag that was already inside of a turkey roaster tray as precaution.

We had a really bad experience with this product. Tried this product this year. Brought it home, put the turkey in and the brine. Started leaking from the bottom immediately. Left with a mess. Won’t try this again.

It was more expensive than other bags and not worth it.

There’s no one size fits all with purchasing this kit. I smoked a 21lb turkey. Brined it for 24 hrs, but the flavor was very dull due to the size of the Turkey. The rub that comes with the kit is more for a smaller bird, and I had to distribute it sparingly.

The pellets themselves were good, but you can get something cheaper that contains oak, hickory, or maple. I had fun with the overall process, but I didn’t think it was worth all the hype.

This was the first time I tried this brine kit and it was worth every penny. It was so easy: just boil everything in a pot, let it cool, add ice and bag it up overnight! I had to turn my turkey over the next day to make sure the other side was well seasoned.

It was a total hit and started the path to a delicious bird!.

I’ve bought this twice now for brining holiday turkeys. In my opinion, it’s the brand’s best one. Package directions give a roasting time that is a little too long and I would definitely NOT allow brined turkey to sit in frig once out of the brine solution.

Box says to try this “for crispy skin”. just dries it out. But if you roast it right after u take it out of the solution it makes for a fantastic, juicy turkey & your gravy will be phenomenal too!.

Let me start by saying I’ve been using BELL’S since I was a kid. My Mom used it my Grammy did too. My first attempt at Thanksgiving dinner involved BELL’S. This product is near dear to my heart. I PROMISE U that u cannot go wrong with this seasoning! There’s just no possible way.

I use it in my stuffing, on my Turkey my “No Turkey” Turkey, as well as in my gravy mixes. This is a Thanksgiving STAPLE! Once u start using BELL’S, u’ll find NOTHING ELSE CAN REPLACE IT! I recently moved south foynd myself UNABLE to find BELL’S in ANY of my local Grocery stores.

I FINALLY got lucky @HarrisTeeter ! I’ve never been to the store but now that I kno they carry my BELL’S, only hell or high water will keep me from becoming a weekly shopper there😍! Try it in Turkey, chicken, pork, or fish.

I only make my Stuffing with Bells seasoning as did my mother and grandmother. This year I could not find it on the shelves locally. Thanks to eBay, my stuffing was still great!

Our family came from Boston, MA to the Midwest in the early 1950’s. My great grandparents, grandparents, parents, and now my siblings and I all use Bell’s Seasonings for the Holiday turkey stuffing at Thanksgiving and Christmas! It has a unique blend of seasonings, and gives the stuffing a wonderful aroma and taste! We used to have to have a relative in Cleveland, Oh bring it to us at holidays, but now, thanks to Walmart, it is available locally in Cincinnati!.

I never had used a brine when smoking a turkey before this. But I will be doing so from now on. Best turkey I ever smoked and the price is much more reasonable than others I considered. A+

Picked this up to try when smoking a turkey ! Had really good flavor. I like the big heavy duty soaking bag that it comes with! I am going to go get some more!

Great product but the bag was too small to be able to seal. Couldn’t remove all air as in direction because bag wouldn’t seal.

For as long as I remember when mom would make potato salad she used this seasoning and it made a huge difference in the taste. It was retired and then brought back once before and I stocked up to keep from running out.

I am ssssoooo happy this is back for sale again and hope it will stay available. A great blend of seasonings to bring out the taste! As a friend once said. If I was on death row and they asked me for my final meal I would want Mamaw’s (my mom) potato salad.

I was so happy to see this product back in the line up. I really don’t understand why it was pulled in the first place. Watkins potato salad seasoning has been a staple for 3 generations in my family.

We used this product for the first time this morning. We made a few adjustments because we were only making a small amount with ground chicken and pork. It worked extremely well. It tastes great! We love it.

pretty much like the grocery stores German sausage. But I can make it stronger if i like but then that makes for too much salt. Also i put in some red chile flakes to give it a kick.

Take it off the shelves!!! This is the worst tasting seasoning I have ever used and tasted in my life. So I washed and cleaned my poultry/chicken, and rubbed it down with olive oil then I seasoned it with this.

I rubbed it in very well. I let it sit, and then I cooked it slowly. When it was finished I sampled it once it cooled down. Low and behold it taste like TRASH. First I tried the poultry seasoning from Aldi’s called Stonemill poultry seasoning, and then I tried the organic poultry seasoning from Walmart/Amazon.

All seasonings listed as “poultry seasoning” have the same ingredients, and it’s the worst combination of ingredients ever: thyme, sage, marjoram, rosemary, black pepper, nutmeg. Terrible combination! I definitely want my money back!! I may as well go outside and ground up some dirt and grass and use that as a poultry rub.

Although it may be less healthy, it could not taste any worse than this poultry seasoning. For who? For what? Take it off the shelves! #TakeItOffTheShelves.

This is a must have ingredient in my family’s home made cornbread dressing. It is so delicious and has a deep flavor that doesn’t over power the dish. I have been using this in my recipes for several years and plan on using it for several more.

I definitely recommend this to anyone who loves Southern Style Cornbread Dressing!.

I won’t use anything but McCormick poultry seasoning. It just has the best flavor and I have always gotten compliments on my stuffing with it. Have used cheaper versions when I ran out, but the flavor cannot compare to McCormick’s.

It makes the best stuffing ever.

Love all the Casa Spices. They give your meat great tasting flavor without all that salt. It allows you to add as much flavor to your meat and then you can add salt to taste. The food industry adds way too much salt to food so I love that you can control the amount of salt while adding tons of flavor to your meat.

Will be purchasing more when my inventory runs low. Keep making these seasonings.

This is an amazing pork rub. I think. What I like the most is how subtle it is. So many rubs available today are extremely salty, sweet or both. Whole Hog hits on all points, but just not “in your face”.

In my opinion a rub should enhance and highlight the meat, not control and over power it. I took 13 different rubs from 6 different companies and gave them in unmarked samples to my daughter’s family and 2 different co workers.

While the results varied as you would expect, the most consistent top was the rubs from Casa M Spice.

I use it in all my sauces and salsas. It makes a great change to deviled eggs. When something needs that little extra touch to put it over the top this is the one to use. Not especially overpowering.

Just a good add on.

I just had to try this on our traditional holiday prime rib roast this year and wow! Love it! I used some of this same seasoning on a small Mississippi pot roast in the slow cooker last week and it turned out exceptional.

We used a steak marinade for years until we stumbled on TexJoy seasoning. So glad we did because it makes steaks so flavorful. We will use it on chicken, seafood, vegetables and potatoes like others have recommended.

IšverstiShow in original languageWe purchased a bottle of this product and LOVED it. We put that stuff on everything BUT ribs. It enhanced the flavor of our pellet grill. However, when we ordered more, the second container came and it had a totally different flavor and was terrible.

On principle I refuse to throw out anything, but I made an exception for this stuff, I couldn’t stomach it as it was inedible.

IšverstiShow in original languageI enjoy the other dry flavorings Cabela’s offers but this one came up a little short. Not a powerful, robust flavor like I was expecting. My biggest complaint is that now the container has been opened for several months, the remaining seasoning is a big, congealed block that will not shake out.

Getting anything out requires a knife to break apart small pieces of the seasoning. The other 2 we have, everyone likes but this one is the exception.
