I have used Zatarain’s Red Bean and Rice and I found it to be very tasty. However; this product contains monosodium glutamate (MSG); which is a neurotoxin. Consuming MSG can lead to glutamate system dysfunction which has been linked to numerous psychological disorders and neurodegenerative diseases.

So if you want early onset alzheimers go right ahead. Eat up. I will not partake no matter how good it tastes.

My husband grew up in Louisiana and I’m from California so obviously I don’t know how to make Louisiana food. He asked me to make Red Beans and Rice and it was a flop. I couldn’t get it to taste like anything.

Then I discovered Zatarains Red Bean Seasoning and now it tastes exactly like the authentic Louisiana dish. I also added onion, garlic and bell pepper. Delicious!.

I love this seasoning packet for my red beans. I grew up on the Mississippi Gulf Coast and have eaten my share of delicious Red beans over rice. I love to cook abut could not get the right flavor when I made this at home.

I love Zatarain’s products and decided to try this, GOOD MOVE! I use Camillia red beans, Zatarain’s mix and really good smoked sausage. This is a winner winner family dinner! You can add your own special touch to make this your signature meal!.

This is a great bean spice. It gives my pinto beans that kick of spice they need, but without the heat. It’s very mild, but packed with flavor. It’s definitely affordable. I love it. I always recommend Fiesta brand spices.

We Got extremely lucky when we ran across this seasoning. I had been searching for years for the perfect restaurant flavor fajita seasoning! Look no more this is it. Gosh and the price is right!

Bought Hurst Hambeens for the first time, and had to go back for more. I cooked these beans with smoked ham shanks in my instantpot on slow cooker, and they were fantastic. The flavor of the beans were succulent, the density of the bean was perfect, and the flavor of the juice was incredible.

When you want something that’s just like home cooking; well you cannot go wrong with these hambeens. My two sons gobbled them up for several days after. You can eat these by themselves, or pour over hot steaming white rice; now that’s a meal.

I was lucky enough to find them in the store the first time, but had to order online the next time around because they were sold out at the store. I highly recommend this brand! Way to go Walmart for having these in the store, and the option to purchase online.

I bought several bags of various beans that smell like straight up RAT poison and I also have bags of beans that I bought at other times that smell the same, , , , I also have several packs of different kinds of butter with the same strong smell, , ,on and on and on, , , it has made me death ill, , ,.

Makes the best crockpot ham and beans soup. I didn’t have a hambone or ham hock so I used a cut up ham steak and 3 slices of cooked bacon instead. Yum!!!

These beans are fantastic. Nicely seasons for southerners. You have to try these beans ! !

These are my absolute favorite, I could live off of greens! Of course they’re not as good as fresh greens but they’re delicious! I add some vinegar, hot sauce Cayene pepper. Plus they’re super easy quick to prepare.

Please restock these soon. They are the best seasoned beans hands down! We miss them in our menu rotation.

I’m from New Orleans – I L-O-V-E red beans and rice as a meal itself! I can cook them perfectly however I’ve never been good at seasoning them well. Zatarains never fails. (p. s. To cook beans in true NOLA style, SERVE over rice – don’t cook rice in the beans! That’s why Zatarains makes a seasoning mix!).

If your cooking mexican food and the recipe calls for pinto beans this brand will be your go to. Now the pinto beans are seasoned well but add a little Sazon to the beans to give them a kick and you will not be disappointed.

I highly recommend these pinto beans and they are not expensive either.

Love these canned Pinto Beans! Just the right amount of seasoning. Taste like Bojangles pintos, maybe a little better. Spicer than original Lucks Pintos. I love Lucks but Margaret Holmes is my new favorite.

Best Pinto Beans on the market. Tried them all and they are very consistent. We eat a lot of Mexican food and these beans are perfect. The only way to improve the product is to make these beans more available.

OMG, where has then seasoning been all my life?!?! I recently discovered the Goya All-Purpose Seasonings after a friend mentioned it and then a random YouTube video about “the best” fried chicken. I started with the standard seasoning in a jumbo sized from BJ’s and I’ve never looked back!!! As I discovered other varieties with pepper or lemon, I purchased them.

FYI, this seasoning does have salt but it’s mixed with other spices and makes everything taste better. As a matter of fact, it’s become a staple in my pantry and I use it every day, so does my daughter when she cooks.

I LOVE cucumbers, the past year I must eat several a day. I love them plain but when I slice them up, add a splash of oil vinegar then sprinkle on some Adobo – YUMMY!!!!!!.

If its made with Goya it isn’t good. This is something that I always have in my home. It can be used to season meat, or add flavor to beans and so many other delicious meals. It also comes in Low Sodium as well as with and without pepper.

Trust me just sprinkle this on your meat and cook. Its fantastic.

well, they’re canned beans. pinto’s should always be cooked from dry, for the simple reason – canning them just does not work. once you eat them cooked from dry, you’ll never wanna eat a can of them again.

and actually – it’s an insult to beans everywhere to use canned rather than dry.

Absolute favorite. I never make homemade beans anymore! These are as good or better! Just season and add butter. My families fave.

As long as Luck’s pinto beans are made this same way, you are just as well off to buy canned beans instead of cooking them for hours at home. They taste just as good as home cooked pinto beans do with nice thick soup.

All you need to be satisfied with a true Southern meal is a can of Luck’s fat-free pinto beans, a skillet of cornbread, raw sweet onion wedges, and a large glass of iced tea. I hope Walmart sells these soon by the case online because not all their stores carries them.

I have bought them five cases at a time from another store online. They are that delicious! True Southerners need their pinto beans weekly. It is an old traditional meal we still eat at least once every week.

ConAgra Foods owns these now. I hope they do not ever change the way they are cooked because you cannot improve on perfection.

We have been wanting to try Dano’s since it’s gone viral on Tik Tok and IG. When we went to Disney in June, we stumbled across it and racked up. When we ran out, we were glad to find it online. We literally put it on everything (salmon, shrimp, beef, taco meat, veggies, you name it) and my boyfriend’s dad who is an 80 year old southern man who loves cooking himself absolutely loves it! The shipment came fast and we are satisfied.

We wish to see Dano’s in more retailers in the NJ/DMV area so we can access it easily.

I love seasoned meat and vegetables, thus goes well on everything. It’s not salty and it taste natural. No matter how much seasons is thrown in there is never a salt taste. The amount size can season over maybe 1 month of daily cooking.

I recommend for those that eat lobster add this down the center let it steam in hot water with the lid on and after about 10 minutes the flavor is incredible. (I do not cook with salt).

I always seen this seasoning in my grandma’s seasoning cabinet. I seen it online and figured I probably should have some of this stuff stored in my kitchen cabinet too. It has be good if grandma was using it.

Absolutely the best dried pinto we have ever tried in our restaurant. Customers now are requesting pinto beans. Will continue buying these. A touch of baking soda and organic apple cider vinegar to the water makes consistent perfect beans every time.

This Taco Seasoning is Very Good. it has a lot of spices in it, more than the Fiesta Blend & Mexican as well. Sorry Kelli, but there are NO Fillers in this Spice Blend!!! If your thinking that Corn Flour is a Filler please note that it is a Flavoring, I use Corn Flour in Taco Spice all the time to bring out the Corn flavors.

Been using this Blend for years & I use it almost daily, can use with many other spices but it does not need much other than more Cumin & Garlic etc. if you want more intense flavor or heat. Enjoy.

Fillo’s Beans and Sofrito Mexican Mayocoba are really very delicious, nutritious, filling and convenient. Easy to prepare at work using the employee microwave; when the only item it become my single serving meal.

Fillo’s beans store easily to have on hand for busy work week dinners. All varieties of these beans have subtle flavor differences and served along side rice and other vegetables and with garnishes make a really delicious meal for 2.

After trying one variety of Fillo’s we decided to try one of each variety. We are still working on those, but the Panamanian Garbanzo is what we call a “repeat” to order again. It is somewhat mild, but we prefer that.

And we also prefer the less spicy (at our ages).

I sent these as a gift, so I haven’t had a feed back. However, I have used the beans, not the barley. I am getting so into this bean thing. Chili, soup, full dish, side dish. Really yummy. I have been exploring spices of all types to layer in depth to the bean dishes.

I couldn’t find pinto beans at beginning of pandemic a food blogger recommended nuts. com for beans in a recipe. They saved me bought 3 types of beans all fresh – you can tell by color of pintos cook faster because they are fresh.

Love them.

Along with the black beans, one cup of pinto and one cup of black beans, about 5 carrots, celery and onions. All diced up or chopped. With 25 Serrano peppers and 2 cooked chicken breasts, diced. all in a Crock-Pot, on low for about 8-10 hours.

Yum. Lunch for about 2 weeks. Inexpensive and healthy.

We buy these all the time, they have the best flavor and are more like homemade than any other brand we’ve tried. The ingredients are only beans, water, and salt. Just like if you made them from scratch at home.

No sodium chloride or calcium (blah blah) as in most other canned beans. When we occasionally use other brands that have these undesirable ingredients, we rinse them first before putting in the pan to heat.

With Lucks beans, just simply add the entire can contents in a pan, heat, and enjoy. My wife is a self-proclaimed homemade bean expert, being raised on them herself as a basic necessity in the south for most of her life.

BEST canned pinto beans ever! Tastes home made. I use to buy these all the time at the Walmart store where I use to live. I have recently moved out of state. My new Walmart store doesn’t carry these pinto beans.

AND I can’t find them at my local grocery stores either! HELP. I’m desperate!!! If Walmart would start carrying Luck’s pinto beans online, my problem would be solved. PLEASE start offering these online and/or at my local Walmart.

I was raised on standard grocery store beans so I didn’t realize there was a difference out there. These beans are the best I’ve ever had! They are so flavorful and cook up with an unexpected tasty broth.

They don’t require a pre soak either and they cook quicker than those other store beans. Excellent product!.

I grew up in Oklahoma and beans were our main food that we ate weekly. We had them along with potatoes and wild greens which we picked. Little did we know it is considered an important protein in our diet.

I been on the look out for fresh pinto beans. Here in Fl is merely impossible to find. This place was recommended to me, I ordered and to my dissatisfaction I got what I can get from a super market. Pinto beans when fresh they have a light cream color with the brown dots.

I got dark brown almost reddish in color to me they look old looking. I grew up eating pinto beans so I know when they are new. Disappointed to say the least. But I try.

Review of: Pork & Pinto Bean Dip | Southern Recipe Small Batch I haven’t had too much bean dip lately, but having grown up on bean dip I think I have a pretty good idea of what it should taste like; and after devouring the entire can of Southern Recipe Pork & Pinto Bean Dip in a little over 2 days, I’ve decided that this bean dip might very well be the best non-homemade bean dip i’ve ever had, or at least had in a very long time.

For me, there is very little comparison between the mushy, super-blended up, bland versions of bean dip sold in most grocery stores and the Southern Recipe bean dip. Unlike the major store brands, the Southern Recipe bean dip actually has some ‘chunkiness’ in the beans.

Visually, I can see pinto beans and the cranberry beans. And, I can even see bits and pieces of the bell pepper and jalapeno pepper in the product. From a taste standpoint, I and my family, found that the seasons that are used are spot-on.

The vinegar and the garlic powder are just right and the small amount of jalapeno pepper in the dip brings a subtle but not ‘hot’ kick to the product. The texture of the dip is exactly what I wanted and expected; creamy but still with enough chunks to keep the dip interesting.

This was one product that I found was truly hard to maintain portion control over; I found it to be that good as a bean dip. However … there was one disappointment that, for me at least, caused this to be a little less than a 5-star product.

That disappointment was in the pork flavor. Specially, I didn’t taste any real, noticeable pork flavor. Very simply, for a company that seems to specialize in pork rinds/cracklins, I expected much more of a ‘wow’ taste of pork.

And while pork cracklins is listed on the ingredient list, I didn’t taste anything that reminded me of pork cracklins. Still, this is such a good bean dip, as just a tasty, slightly warm bean dip, that the Southern Recipe easily, easily deserves at least 4 stars.

This review is for Pork & Pinto Bean Dip, Southern Recipe Small Batch by the Southern Recipe Store. This is a more chunky dip than I expected. You actually get some bean pieces in here so you know it has real ingredients and not just filled with paste.

The name of it made me second guess my purchase “pork and pinto” but it was actually really tasty. This has some pork rinds mixed into the bean dip but if I’m honest I don’t get a whole lot of pork rind flavor here.

To have pork in the name seems weird when there is no real pork flavor to be found. There was a little spice here but nothing big. If you are looking for really spicy then keep looking. The flavor overall was very good in my opinion and I would definitely buy this again.

I will probably try the black bean dip next. I taste tested these with corn chips, I did not have any pork rinds to test with.

Pork & Pinto Bean Dip This is good. When I first opened the can, it smelled like canned pork n beans. I like pork n beans and was surprised when the dip tasted different. It’s a perfect blend of healthy ingredients with a hint of spice.

It’s not too hot, just right. I think it could be categorized as mild spicy. Yummy, I consider this dip a healthy evening snack. I store the opened can in the refrigerator.
