20 Best Seafood Stock To Buy (2023 Updated)

Never had tried this but the Kale, black olives and beans is not what I wanted in my Mediterranean Clam Soup. Sorry I bought 4 cans. The taste of the Kale and Black Olives made this worse on top of the HUGH amount of SALT.

i would advise trying to buy only one and try for yourself. These flavors were NOT tasty at all. Since I am a BIG FAN OF THE CONDENSED CLAM CHOWDER I highly recommend as well as the Bar Harbor New England Style Crab Bisque semi-condensed I add half can of milk, or condensed milk and butter.

This was a new flavor for me as well. Did not like the Lobster one at all. I have live 5 years in Maine, but the past 50 years in California now, but the Condensed Clam Chowder is my go to lunch or dinner meal mix in real butter and half can of milk and “gently” warm up to melt butter 1-2 TBS and milk, DON’T EVER BOIL as it tuff’ns up the clams.

My pantry has approximately 48 cans of Condensed Clam Chowders. My investment in my meal is so much better than eating out. I have been buying from Vitacost for the past 3 years as the Pandemic has kept this lady of 77 indoors and I SO ENJOY having my food delivered to my door.

I usually look for all the 20% on all items and spend up to several hundreds of dollars.

Read great reviews and bought 2 cans. I was very disappointed and called the number on the can to complain. Nobody was there to answer so I left a message with my phone number and never heard back. I tried the first can only to find a milky broth with only the slightest specks of what I thought were clam bits and a couple specks of corn.

I returned the unopened can to the Market Basket where I bought them without a problem. Bar Harbor chowder is a complete and total rip-off. Never again !.

Look, I know that Walmart isn’t a Wegmans or, a Whole Foods. But this trend of buying canned Clam Chowder and finding out it’s really just crumbly potatoes and bits of jerky, is starting wear on me. As for the look of the soup….

it’s uhh, unpleasant at first, but after boiling or microwaving it it should look better. The taste isn’t too bad, I added crackers to it a d I thought it was fine. Still though It’s mostly potatoes.

how disappointing to find that the product has sugar! why? this completely ruined my perception of a healthy product and turned me off from buying this brand again. there is no need for the sugar and there are many other competitors on the market that don’t feel the need to add it as well.

The flavor is surprisingly bold, especially for it been unsalted. I tried this one day because they were out of the other brands, and now I won’t switch back. Not as rich as beef broth, but not bland like a typical vegetable broth.

This was my go to brand for vegetable stock when I was eating vegan. Still my preferred brand when creating vegetarian/vegan recipes that call for a veggie stock. Excited that there is still great taste without all of the sodium that can end up in stock products, would absolutely recommend!.

Knorr cubes as above a staple and ‘go to’ ingredient in our house; delicious tasting stock, and will make good (if slightly salty) veggie gravy if one cube prepared in about 250 – 300 ml of boiling water and then thickened with cornflour; have used these stock cubes (and other varieties as required – beef, chicken, lamb) for a very long time in many soups and sauces; never let me down; excellent; highly.

These were recommended by a friend and I am glad I listened. Normally I put a lot of effort into making my fish pie have levels of flavour which can take a long time. The Knorr Fish stock cubes cut that work down and in one simple cube made my fish dishes taste amazing.

I’ve even put them into south Asian curries and cuisine and they can really add another layer of flavour. Really impressed with simplicity and the amount of flavour in those tiny stock cubes!.

These Knorr Fish Stock Cubes 8 x 10g are generally quite hard to find in the supermarket, however once located, they are the perfect way to add a burst of flavour into your favourite dishes. I’m not sure whether this is a new recipe, however they taste less salty than on previous cooking attempts, which is great and perfect when cooking for our toddler.

This is definitely a worthy addition to your larder.

I thought these stock cubes would be just the same as all the others I have purchased. Boy, was I wrong! They are so flavoursome and made a big difference to the dishes I used them in. I cook from scratch every single day and these are definitely far superior to the others I use.

Definitely recommended. If you can’t afford to use them every day, at least use them for special meals – they are a game changer.

Making soup, you’ll never go back. Steaming/poaching fish, ohh yaa. Pasta sauces, sure. Casserole, yup that too. Anywhere you would use plain water you can boost the flavor and add complexity. Just watch the salt content.

It needs the high salt content, but if you accidentally used too much you’ll know it and you can’t blame the bullion for that. That would be user error. If you are a no salt kind of person they do make a low sodium version as well.

I am a die-hard fan of Better Than Bouillion beef and chicken bases. Not ony are they absolutely delicious – much better than any boxed broth or bouillion cube – but they are far more economical. At Target in my neighborhood, Chicken Better Than Bouillon costs $4.

99 for an 8 oz. jar which makes 9. 5 quarts of broth. Thats 53 cents a quart! At the same Target, A quart of Swanson in a box costs $2. 99 and a quart of the Target brand Good and Gather costs $1. 79! The Swanson is almost 6 times more expensive and the Good and Gather is over 3 times more expensive.

To say nothing of storage space. 9. 5 quarts of boxed broth will take up a lot more space in your pantry than one 8 oz. jar of Better Than Bouillion. I rest my case!.

Generally, this is excellent bouillon. Unfortunately, the two jars delivered to me two days ago are inferior. After opening the first jar, it appeared darker than usual smelled “off” and had little chunks throughout the mixture.

Opened the second jar which still didn’t smell like the BTB product I’ve purchased for years. Tried making my usual gravy from the second jar; it came out horribly! Dates on both jars are good for another year and one half.

Suspect they were stored in an overheated area for too long and the batches got compromised.

I read on the label that Swanson uses a double stock recipe to make their broth which includes a process of clarifying the liquid and fortifying the flavor which produces a more delicious end result.

We started our chicken noodle soup by sautéing our vegetables in oil and then added our seasonings and chicken to the sauté pan. We added the Swanson Chicken broth and brought it up to a boil at which time we added like noodles and cooked until al dente.

The broth infused its flavor in the noodles and complimented the sautéed vegetables on the soup. It would be great if we all had the time and resources to make broth at home but for the real world we sometimes need shortcuts and I would recommend Swanson Chicken broth whenever you need to boost flavor in any dish you make.

I would also recommend the Campbells website, it has some great recipes to use Swanson Chicken broth in like Sesame Sriracha Chicken Stir-Fry, Garlic Sautéed Green Beans and Bourbon Pecan Hasselback Sweet Potatoes.

I got this swanson chicken broth as a complimentary from Influenster and Swanson for my honest opinion and to be honest I didn’t think the one box container of broth would be enough to make anything for my family so I bought a larger one (which I was right and glad I did).

I made a chicken soup but I also wanted to make something other than that so I made a homemade chicken and veggie rice a roni. It all came out amazing (I got pictures of the soup but unfortunately didn’t get pictures of the rice a roni because when I stepped out my kid’s ate it before I could take a picture, it wasn’t much but it would of been a great picture).

This broth is very tasty, easy to use, easy to open, goes great cooking in multiple dishes and its perfect to cook something fast instead of waiting to make a homemade broth. I will definitely be buying more since I’m now all out.

I was super excited to be receiving Swanson’s broth to try and review as part of the Swanson’s voxbox. I make a lot of soup all year round, so this was definitely a product I was bound to use a lot. I received the chicken broth, which is perfect because I use chicken as my soup base most often.

Last weekend we got a fluke late-season snowstorm, so I pulled this out to make a cozy chicken noodle soup. GAME CHANGER! the chicken stock was super flavorful and not watery at all, which I think is due to the unique double stock recipe.

What I also liked about Swanson’s was the recipes that were highlighted on the back. I used the Swanson website to recreate their “Sensational Chicken Noodle Soup. ” It was great! I did take away a star because the level of sodium was incredibly high.

I compared the Swanson’s brand to two other brands of chicken stock I have at home (Kirkland and aldi brand) and it had the highest sodium percentage of the three by a long shot. To compare, Swanson’s had 37% whereas Aldi brand had 22% and Kirkland had 18%.

While I know the additional sodium added to the overall flavor, I think it’s important to highlight the difference for those who are watching their sodium intake. Otherwise, my soup turned out delicious, and the stock was very good!.

I cannot believe that theres no animal product in here. the moment i twisted opened the jar. my goodness the AROMA!!! Tastes absolutely DELICIOUS. rich in flavour. This company is GOLD. i bought the vegetarian chicken and beef flavor.

Im African so Im familiar with a lot of seasonings. this? This is going to be amongst my top favorites. PS, well. ca please add the garlic, chilli and lobster versions too. “Better than buillon” has many flavors.

WARNING: TASTE THE STOCK BEFORE USING IT We’ve used this every year for a while on Thanksgiving and Christmas. We’ve always been very happy with it. This year we used it in the turkey pan, the gravy, and the stuffing.

The gravy and stuffing were completely ruined. We couldn’t figure out what went wrong. Then we tasted the leftover stock. It was flavorless and smelled faintly like carrots. It was a weak vegetable broth.

I bought four boxes of this supposed ‘Turkey stock’ and began to reduce them down with high hopes for tomorrows Thanksgiving dinner. Once the stock began to simmer, I noticed it had a weird soapy kind of smell; I tasted it and was simply blown away by the uber weak yet horrible taste – no evidence of Turkey or even chicken flavor – I could make better stock by cooking a carrot in a gallon of water.

With a little addition of saffron and salt while heating the broth, this stuff is surprisingly good for making paella. Recommended.

Homemade taste right from the bottle!

I have purchased Beef Bone Broth several times over the past months and I have to say that in my opinion This is the best you will find. Top Quality, great flavoursome, nutritious broth. I did my homework before purchasing, as there are SO many different types including powder available.

The one in question is 100% carefully sourced ingredients, of which I can totally recommend, you get what you pay for. This product is the only one I would buy without a doubt. As stated Very highly recommended.

For freshness it is in a Well sealed carton and delivered in very sturdy packaging. I haven’t tried the chicken or veg ones though so I can’t comment on those two. A lovely product. I hope it continues to remain available long term.

When making a sauce or gravy the quality of the stock is very important. Store bought stock often has added salt and the chicken or beef flavour is heavily diluted. The cost of this product is around £11 per liter of stock which is definitely expensive for the chicken stock which I estimate costs me around £10 per liter for my homemade which takes 3 hours of cooking but I get two chicken breasts as a bonus.

However, it is a different story with the beef stock as I find it harder to get beef bones and I don’t want to spend 8 hours plus making it so I always buy the beef version of this stock. Excellent product.

Has a great taste and goes well with the few soups I’ve made of it so far. Not too salty which is a good sign as salt is often used to make up for loss of taste during the sterilastion process and it really retains that wonderful deep flavour you get from good variety of bones from larger animals (not just chicken).

Of course it will be cheaper and tastier to go to a butcher and get the bones your self but this will save you half a day and so while it is a little expensive compared to some of the alternatives I used.

it’s definitely a better balanced stock when compared to them. Recommended if the price tag doesn’t make you wince.
