20 Best Sea Salt Spray For Men’S Hair (2023 Updated)

When I first put this on I got a “wow – what have you done” from my girlfriend 🙂 I usually use a soft styling wax to give definition and texture. This works well but can make my hair a little greasy and also provides a sharp clumped type look.

This sea salt spray gave the definition but a much softer look. This was flatter and more natural – and looked good. I have used sea salt spray before and while I like the look it is something that can give a dandruff-like effect towards the end of the day as it falls out.

It didn’t happen with this product which is great as I like my dark shirts. I have naturally curly hair so need to use product to add weight otherwise it goes huge. This adds weight allowing me to provide a natural shape and prevent excess luft.

The product is not greasy and brushes out, it does add a slightly stiff fell to hair but that is how it adds definition and holds it in place. The bottle looks great in my bathroom, very classy. The best sea salt spray I have used and a great addition to my haircare routine.

The product has a very pleasant citrusy smell that isn’t at all overpowering (I had imagined it would smell like the sea being a sea salt spray). The blue plastic bottle is a nice look which gives it a high end feel.

I already have pretty thick curly hair and was looking forward to adding more volume (I imagined a blown out hair). Unfortunately I didn’t notice any difference to my hair after use (both on wet and dry hair).

It didn’t seem to rub in completely either, so if I touched my hair, I felt there was always some sort of residue left over. There’s quite a lot in the bottle and not sure if that’s indicative of how much you should add to your hair for each application, but a few sprays was more than enough to cover my hair and I still didn’t notice a volumising effect.

There is some basic instructions on use behind the label. Overall, I think the bottle looks great, the smell is pleasant, but my guess is this product is probably not meant for Afro-textured hair.

I think I just have the wrong sort of hair for this product. I have relatively short hair that I suppose is quite heavyweight already. I was expecting this to provide greater volume – my hair tends to naturally lie quite flat if I don’t put any product in it.

I found it didn’t really make much of a difference, apart from finding it left a strange sort of film over my hair – not greasy, but noticeable on my hands if I touched my hair at all, and noticeable enough to make me not want to use the product regularly.

I’ve tried applying it to towel-dried hair before and after using my usual hair product, and without any other product. I don’t tend to blow-dry my hair. So, I’m not really sure what it is meant to do.

Some stars for smelling inoffensive and not making my hair look awful! It does have a matte finish, so that’s another plus.

I had high hopes for this product, but I don’t like the scent which reminds me of the suntan lotions I can’t stand. The day I tried to use it, I ended up pulling my hair back so that it wouldn’t disturb me.

Too bad. My son doesn’t like it either, and we both use salt spray texturizers from other companies. I couldn’t say if the product works in terms of adding texture. It’s strange. I wish companies would leave scent as a separate component.

Obviously I have other products with odors. I don’t want to have a dozen scents emanating from my face lotion, eye lotion, shampoo, conditioner, body lotion, hand cream, detangler, texturizer, serum, lip balm and goodness knows what else.

Much better to keep it simple.

My hair has turned white. I’m 70. And this spray actually does give my hair a little bounce, fullness, texture and curl. After washing I blow dry enough to keep it from dripping, and while still quite damp I lightly spray the sea salt texturizer from root to ends.

Then continually shake my hair and run my fingers through as it air dries. It’s very difficult to find products that actually give my new locks fullness and curl without weighing them down. This does a pretty good job.

But I must keep from using too much or it feels dirty.

I’ve been waiting to write this review, because I wanted to test this spray out in a variety of weather conditions; sunny to rain. Now that I’ve done that I have to say that the guys at Hair Craft have nailed it with this one.

Hair Craft’s sea salt spray works beautifully with the rest of the Hair Craft line. I finish my style with a little bit of the clay (which is so concentrated that I always add a drop of water and work it together to dilute it a bit).

The look holds all day, yet I can run my fingers through my hair to quickly reshape or restyle it if needed. From a value/price standpoint, it is on par with the other one I was using. So the verdict is in.

I ´ve been seeing a ton of ads on instagram around a powder in your hair for more volume. Decided go with this one glad I did. The first time I used it, I poured a little too much in my hand and I could feel the volume and matteness a little too much.

So the next time I started with a dime size of powder and shuffled into my hair. Boom. This literally ignites your hair instantly, with volume and texture. A little does go a long way and gives my hair the matte look I love.

i absolutely love this product! i was blow drying and curling my hair almost constantly to get it to wave perfectly but this product does that without the heat damage! i have also noticed that it takes longer for my hair to get greasy when i use this product.

The smell alone is incredible. On top of that, I find styling my hair difficult; it’s either heavy amounts of pomade and an unnatural look, or completely disheveled. This product is a happy middle-ground for me.

This product is just amazing. I was looking for a hair texturizer that would help my curls stay in place. I spray this in my hair as well as my heat protectant I then blow dry my hair then curl it. Usually my curls unravel during the night , but when I use this stuff my curls stay easily three days which helps cut down on styling time.

I purchased the sea salt spray and beard oil (Old Money scent) and I’m very pleased with both. I gave it several weeks before sending in this review to make sure the products actually worked. Before using these two, my splurge on hair products was no more than Trader Joe’s shampoo.

The beard oil has significantly softened my beard, removed the itch and dry skin. The scent doesn’t sour during the day. Being from Florida, I know what the sea salt from the ocean does to your hair.

I have to say, the Beardbrand sea salt spray mimics the real thing pretty well. It provides a light hold, but keeps my hair feeling clean and not stiff or flaky from the product. I will continue to buy these two products and will probably explore some others based on this great experience.

I’ve never been a big hair/beard product user, but after watching a few videos about the salt spray (temple smoke), I bit the bullet. Let me tell you, this stuff is awesome! It adds some texture to your hair/beard in addition to a little hold, but it doesn’t feel like you used a holding product.

This is the product that made me want to try beardbrand. Let me tell you it did not disappoint. If makes styling your hair fast and easy. If you don’t feel like doing anything else this would be enough.

It gives just enough hold to style, but you can still mess with your hair and not feel like you have gunk in your hair. It does great with cow licks in the hair. One spray and it lays down. It reminds me of home sense I am originally from FL and always had the salty water hair look.

I watched a video of how Greg Berzisnky styles his beard and thought what the hell, lets try the Sea Salt Spray. I’ve tried it in my hair before (diff brand) and didn’t like the results, although I already have thick wavy hair.

Tried this in my beard and holy moly is it fantastic. Doesn’t make my beard feel terrible, and after a quick blowdry and a touch of styling balm it made it look so much fuller and easier to style. I can’t believe I didn’t try this before.

Great stuff for a full beard.

Got my hair powder. And to be honest never used a powder before. I ´ve been looking for a product that would increase my hair ´s thickness and overall volume, this definitely does that. I noticed there is a seal to contain the powder which I was thrown off by, but you just have to peel and unpeeled when applying product.

At first I applied too much product to start. Recommend you start with a little since it goes a long way and applying it to your hair dry. After pouring in my hand and adding to my hair I can see added texture and volume which I love.

You definitely get a matte finish, which I love. Great product if you have thinner hair.

I was iffy about this purchase. I have straight Asian hair, and since middle school I’d been trying sea salt spray one after another to no avail. So yes, I was dubious about this one even after Charlotte Cho’s video at the hair salon.

I decided to go for it, and I was so impressed. It smells like the sea! And not the false coconut, suntan oil scent that I normally get from sea salt sprays, but the actual clean, salty air of the ocean.

It doesn’t make my hair sticky, but adds volume and texture like I have never before witnessed. I spray all over in a fine mist BEFORE I style with heat. My curls stay all day without hairspray and my hair has never looked better.

I have lots of trouble finding a hair product that works for me. I have super fine and flat hair and thought I would only be destined to use hair sprays (everything else weighs down my hair) Don’t know what made me try this.

Its unbelievable. It adds a little curl and unexpectedly adds volume. It also lasts for several days without making it look bad and adds a faint tint to the hair, like if you have been by the ocean. Its lovely.

As some others mentioned, the bottle does stop working towards the end, but not a huge deal for me. I do wish a larger bottle was available, as this is rather pricey product (I have to use more than just a few sprays at a time).

I wasn’t really sure what this product would be like when I ordered it but I ordered it based on reviews and it’s a wonderful texturizing product. I recently took a vacation at sea for a week and (ironically) all I used in my hair was the sea salt spray.

It’s one of those products you can layer and can’t really use too much of. I love the texture if you use about 10 pumps and let your hair dry naturally then fluff it up, the feel of your hair is just perfect for styling and volume.

I have thin limp hair so it’s perfect for that. It also lasts a long time and I like the smaller size that works well for travel.

Scent: This product has a spiced wood finish rather than sweet wood, which is you would get on something like a layrite pomade (sweet wood), but it is still very pleasant. The scent is not too strong, which is a plus for me because I go for more of a natural smell.

Bottle: The bottle has a very good spritzer, better than some of the other hairsprays I use. Love that it has a handy lock feature. Remember to shake well before use! Product: This spray gives a nice medium hold and some good shine – not as much hold or shine as a pomade, but more than a regular hairspray.

The spray is durable, it lasts the whole day without weakening. Uses: Use a small amount to pull in flyaways and add some shape. Use a moderate amount to add some volume and shine to your hair. This product works very well for achieving a tousled look.

Beardbrand in general: Beardbrand makes some really great products because they focus on including as many natural ingredients as possible. Additionally, Beardbrand is great because they have a strong culture and some great videos on YouTube to learn more about them and their products.

Overall, love the product. The hold and manipulation capability it provides is awesome. I personally used it in my beard and it worked just as expected. Be cautious with how much you use. I was new to the product and over did it a little the first time around.

Once it dries and sets in, which is pretty quickly, you’ll definitely know. My only ding has nothing to do with functionality, but with the scent. Lumber Yard. that is very accurate; just as their product description notes.

I like earthy and smokey scents; this was just a bit much for my blood at first. Like most fragrances, the strong scent will wear down a bit after a little while. I ended up pairing it with their Old Money mustache wax to offset the Lumbar Yard scent in my nose.

Love the sea salt sprays from Beardbrand! This one has a more subtle scent than the silver and gold lines they also have available. It is a clean, fresh cut lumber scent. The key to this product is the clay they add.

The clay creates the right amount of grit that creates real body in my fine hair. Others don’t have this and end up acting more like hairspray–a look I definitely don’t want. The pump bottle is also really great–I get it where I want to and not all over the bathroom sink.

This spray really has changed the way that I style my hair. I usually find most texture sprays or products too heavy for my hair and it usually makes my hair greasy. However this spray is perfect and doesn’t make it greasy at all!.

I have sort-of wavy/sort-of straight, kind of frizzy, uncolor treated hair, that is otherwise very healthy. I have used other “beach sprays” before(and good stuff, not even drugstore brands), and for me, this is the best product I have used.

It gave me nice waves all over that held all day. I just flipped my hair over and sprayed, then a few additional sprays on top once I stood up. Then I scrunched my hair all over, and it dried beautifully.

While this product worked well on my hair type, as I’ve read the other reviews, it seems it may not work well for all. If your hair sounds to be the same as mine, I would TOTALLY recommend this! It’s super easy to use, smells great, and works fantastic! I have used other KMS California products in the past, and always been happy with their products.

This is by far the best product I have ever used on my wavy hair. The perfect amount of control without any stiffness. I want to give it 10 stars but the smell is awful, it smells like potpourri that has gone bad or something.

But the spray is so good I still use it on the regular despite the fact that I hate the smell.

I use the volumizing shampoo and conditioner, and I also have the leave in conditioner and the sea salt spray! It took about five washes for me to notice anything but when I did I was surprised that I wasn’t losing as much hair! Only thing when I use the shampoo and rinsed it out my hair felt really dry and course.

I would put the conditioner in And that helped but I had to use a lot! When my hair finally dries, I do like the way it looks and feels! I wish it had a little better smell to it!.

All without any dreaded sea salt crunch! You also get a lot of product for the price compared with other high-end brands. The bottle is easy to hold and has a very fine mister, so you don’t end up spraying too much in a concentrated area.
