I have purchased this item many times, best to have multiple handles instead of swapping blades frequently.

I bought a scraper, but it broke in two pieces on the first job. I need a contour scraper and bought one more and hope it will last until the job is done. The blades seem to be of better quality.

Most of these scrapers that were “old-style good” would open the blade holding end slightly, like a jaw opening when it came time to insert or replace a blade. Not this one. I had to fight with the blade in a pair of pliers to get it in and I still don’t get the feeling that it’s properly seated.

The thumb mechanism seems to work fairly well. The scraper included fairly decent quality blades. The extended blade seems to stay in place to do the scraping. I’m still worried about getting this blade out when the time comes.

Blade moves around too much. This makes it unusable because the blade will never be level enough to evenly scrape, just gouge whatever you’re trying to scrape.

Price wise it’s a very good tool ,to scrape clean a window with lots of old dried tape,paint or what ever. Works very fast and holds the razor blade in a safe manner. It’s a good tool to keep in a tool box.

I needed to remove paint from some wooden bed moldings on my house. They were over 60 years old and had multiple coats of paint. The bed moldings have a complex design with both convex, concave, and flat surfaces.

I originally used paint remover and a wire brush to remove the paint. While effective, it was slow, messy, and required constant cleaning of the brush. I searched for what’s called a “contour scraper” and found this one at Zoro.

The tool has multiple blades that can be readily changed with a flip of the handle lever. The set included blades that fit the bed molding perfectly and were very sharp. After applying paint remover to the molding I used the tool and it cleanly removed the layers of paint with a pull of the blades across the surface.

It stripped cleanly down to the wood with the old paint coming off in a long “string”. I changed the blades to remove paint from the different surface shapes and repeated the process. This is a quality tool made by Hyde and should perform without problems.

CHANGED THE REVIEW: Unfortunately, after only one project, the handle and the blade holder are no longer holding the scraper blade securely. The pin that holds the blade will not come out far enough to install the blade unless I pull it out with pliers.

And then it will not retract to hold the blade securely unless I whack it with a hammer. It’s a good idea, but I certainly expected it to last longer than a few hours of scraping paint from a door.

The tool itself is identical to the Richards round profile scraper, meaning that if you have that handle, all of these blades are compatible. Makes short work out of complicated Victorian mouldings, and well worth the money.

The blades are razor sharp, and easily re-sharpened with flat and curved sharpening stones. Highly recommended.

Having broken many a 4″ and 6″ scraper, the Unger EN150 was a great find. “Heavy Duty” should be in the item description. The ability adjust the angle when using in conjunction with a pole only adds to its value when taking on large jobs.

I want to order another, but I doubt this thing is falling apart any time soon.

A nice 2-in-1 glass scraper that is perfect for cleaning up paint of the windows. The scarper is sharp and works quickly to remove the debris. It does not scratch your glass. A great buy.

Ive been a professional window cleaner for 23 years and tried just about every scraper that’s available on the market. I have always come back to the stanley. Its robust and the blades don’t break easily when you hit dried on concrete and others builders debris on glass.

My only complaint has been that its a bit too narrow for getting large windows done fast but all of the wider alternatives I have used have thinner and more brittle blades that break easily. With this tool you will be changing the blade not because it broke but because its old and blunt from extended use.

I will never again be without this tool in my belt. I may use the wider alternatives for big jobs but stanley will always be there when I need reliability and strenght. Well worth the money!!.

WOW — after acquiring it the question was — why did it take someone SO LONG to come up with this GREAT IDEA — to use BOX CUTTER / UTILITY KNIFE blades in a glass Window scraper??? Box Cutter blades are FAR stronger than razor blades.

Love that this scraper takes regular utility blades. Not sure if it is one or two blades that are wonky, but sometimes it seems to make contact with the surface more on the outside than in the center of the blade.

After purchasing 5x Americanline scrapers with 5x blades with each, which come as a pack normally! I was sent 5x Persona scrapers loose in jiffy bag with 5x boxes of Americanline blades. If I wanted 5 Persona scrapers I would have gone elsewhere.

I wanted Americanline top quality over the cheap renamed copies. EBay for you.

This is an excellent little tool, was recommended to me recently by the guys who refurbished our sash windows. Great for getting paint off around windows and bits of stray caulk. Great little think of such a little price.

This is one of those inexpensive, low-tech tools every toolkit will benefit from. There is nothing quite as good for scrapping paint, caulk, bugs and other dirt off of glass and windshields. I’ve had mine for at least 40 years and it works as good as new.

Every 20 years or so I clean it up with lacquer thinner and oil it. Glad to see it is still made.

I know people think this is amazing. It did not work in my application. I followed directions, covered with plastic, let it sit for days, parts of the room worked great. Parts of the room I applied a second coat and repeated the entire process and no luck.

After some research, new sheetrock isn’t much more than this product costs. Unfortunately I paid for both but consider saving the hassle and pulling the old ceiling down. I would have saved time and money.

Love this product. Previous homeowner decided to put 2nd popcorn over original and then covered it with a latex enamel in our master bath. Its’ a nightmare! Don’t bother with cling film on a ceiling, it’s more of a PIA than just setting alarm on phone for 30 mins and spraying the area you just did.

Do that for a couple of hours and it’ll come off.

My husband was hesitant about removing the popcorn from our bathroom ceiling as he thought it would be a difficult task with unknown results. He kept postponing the removal until I got him a gallon of Max Strip to give it a try.

We were concerned about it possibly having an unpleasant strong smell but were surprised with it being okay. He rolled the mixture onto the ceiling and left it overnight, then with a spatula he started scraping it slowly (we were concerned about making a mess under the popcorn).

He had a box with him to catch the scrapped soggy popcorn as he went which was perfect as it limited the mess to almost none. Now he is confident to continue removing the popcorn in other rooms of our house which was something we wanted but were scared of.

Follow the instructions, wait (that was the hardest part) as recommended, and strip the popcorn away.

We purchased this item at a local restaurant supply store, but I see it here so I’ll add my two cents. We used this item in our food vending trailer (think small space) and it was INVALUABLE in getting simple syrup off the floor (we had a shaved ice stand).

The syrup would cake and flake off easily w/ the scraper blade, making wipe-down cleanup a cinch. Never had a buy a replacement, just wipe off the blade for storage.

This thing is great for keeping the floor clean. It’s a little rough on the grout lines, but perfect for the flat tile sections, especially in the cake decorator areas.

These floor scrapers work awesome, no more back breaking trying to get old tape off the floor. We will be getting more for other departments in our plant. AWESOME!

We have an older house and have been wanting to remove the popcorn ceiling with ease. So we tried this product out. You need to prep the area surrounding the area you do not want to strip. Our ceiling was painted over so we needed to apply a 2nd coat of this.

After applying be sure to put a plastic covering over the areas so that the product does not dry out. On the bottle it recommends that you leave the product on the popcorn ceiling anywhere from 4-12 hours.

We decided to start removing at the 12 hour mark because of the paint over. Using a scraper, the painted over popcorn ceiling came off really easily. It was a lot of work but worth it. I would recommend this product to those want to rid themselves of popcorn ceilings!.

I have an older house that I took upon painting myself last month. After going through the first room, I realized the most time I spent, was removing the old popcorn texture from the ceiling. So, I looked for products that would make my life easier for the rest of the project.

I really liked this Max Strip Popcorn Ceiling Remover. It works as advertised. I used a roller brush to apply, as it’s in a gel form. I let it sit for couple hours and then removal was made so much easy without much effort at all.

I completed the work in less than half the time. As with any of the chemicals used in painting/striping. it does have that chemical smell. Just let the room/space air out and it’d be gone. I’d definitely recommend it to make your job easier and painless.

I have tried various techniques, recommendations, and ‘hacks’ in the past with limited success. This product—Max Strip Popcorn Ceiling Remover— did work relatively well in helping to strip off the popcorn, but it was still so much work and hassle.

Instructions were easy and straightforward. The jug is a decent size, but I found that I needed to much more in order to make a dent. Overall, I felt it did a satisfactory job, but it still needs some improvement.

This feels really good in your hand and does a great job. Bonus, it does fit on the Unger OS250 extension pole which I did not expect. Comparable price and better quality than other scrapers I have looked at.

This ErgoTec scraper has a comfortable grip and an angled blade for scraping grills, floors or walls. Optional poles are available and the blades are inexpensive.

It’s a scraper that was needed in a pinch. My good scraper was 1200 miles away and it has a grip handle over the blade area to apply more pressure and achieve more precision. It also has carbide blades.

The Rockler scraper was a good price point for what it is. Using proprietary, non-standard blades is a negative and then having those blades not be carbide tipped is a further negative. The blades that come with the scraper and the replacements Rockler sell leave a lot to be desired in the sharpness and ability to hold an edge arena.

Like I said I needed it but I don’t have to like it or think it is better than mediocre quality. The scraper is also quite small as scrapers go and it is hard to get enough pressure over the blade area for thorough scraping.

This is a game-changer over how I used to use a chisel to clean up glue-ups. So fast and so easy. The blade stays sharp and keeps doing an awesome job time after time. I clean it when I’m done so I don’t have to deal with a glob of dried glue but that only takes a minute or two.

I bought the scraper to get the glue residue off some laminated workbench tops I was making. The scraper worked better than I expected. I also used it on a table top I made. It worked so well, it took very little planing to finish the top.

Essential for decorating. I use it for scraping nibs off paint surface, cleaning old paint off glass and above all for cutting masking tape. I use masking as it saves so much time when creating a straight edge especially on multiple glazing bars.

The trick is to slide the blade sideways then it gets into the corner and tape cuts cleanly. You’ll be wanting to buy the blades in bulk as they have to be really sharp. Bluntish blades good for de nibbing as they don’t dig in.

So buy two!.

Supplied blades fitted neatly and came with about 5 blades. Rather than use silicone remover or WD40 I went for this and glad I did as it worked a treat and removed all the shower silicone quite easily and I only used 2 blades.

Blades pushed back into its body a few times but didn’t do it when I turned it upside down. I would definitely recommend this scraper.

The scraper is excellent at removing paint, or well stuck mess off smooth hard surfaces because it’s very sharp but it has a terrible design flaw. The brass push button to extend or retract the blade clicks to lock the blade in the extended position but this is too easy to accidentally press and retract the blade while holding the device and applying pressure as it is in the prime position to hold the tool.

So it’s pretty annoying as this tends to happen every couple of minutes, then you have to reset and start again. Otherwise it’s good, but I think a redesign of that button would be a good idea.

The Unger ErgoTec Glass Scraper does excellent on construction clean up jobs. If you don’t know about Fabricating Debris inherent on some manufactured tempered glass windows, or you don’t know proper and safe methods for scraping glass, this item is NOT FOR YOU.

If you are a PRO WC’er, you know these scrapers work nice, as well as how and when to use them. Keep your waivers handy WC’erz :).

This scrapper is another amazing addition to my arsenal. Although the 6″ is good for larger windows this 4″ is perfect for smaller windows or French panes! Make sure you take out the blade or it will rust!! The little plastic clip is a tad bit brittle and broke on one of my three and it’s 3 years old!.

A must have tool for pro window cleaning on construction jobs where windows are a mess! Safe on glass easy to change blades. Love the reversible blade.

I do a lot of scraping and this scraper works well. It’s very rigid, the handle is comfortable to use for extended periods. Overall a good product for a fair price. I haven’t owned it long enough to see how rust resistant the coating it.

It’s also nice to have the option to put it on an extension pole. Pretty happy with my purchase.

Recently purchased a home with a VERY neglected deck. Had to get on our hands/knees to scrape off a ton of old paint and this scraper was a god send. Sharp, durable, and effective, did a great job. If only the handle was a little longer for better leverage, but overall, very happy with the purchase and results.

The blade dulls way too fast. I was using it as a tape scraper to remove the tape from tile. The tape was stuck good, but wasn’t hardened, just sticky. The tape won. That isn’t a good thing. Within a few minutes, the cutting edge just wasn’t that sharp.

For about half the price of similar tools found elsewhere, it was a good option for experimenting with detailed paint scraping. I purchased two, so would not have to spend time changing blades on the two contours.

Generally the tool(s) worked well. I would not have been able to do the job in any other way. Sharp tools make all the difference in efficient work (go figure). The included files a nice thought, but went to my bench grinder for realistic sharpening.

I do question the metal composition, as the blades did wear pretty fast.

I originally bought this thinking I would use it to clean up glue squeeze out on projects, but when I got home and opened the package, I was pleasantly surprised. I did not look over the package that well at the store.

There are many blades for a variety of uses and they are sharp, really sharp. The quality of the handle, shaft is excellent, the attachment of blades quick and easy. Every home work box should have this.

It will come in handy once you have it available.

I needed a tool to scrap the ribs cut into T1-11 of loose paint. I both this tool specifically for the narrow straight blade. It did the job incredibility well. I had to scrap above and below my shoulders and the handle ergonomics made the job very easy.

I was quite impressed with how easy it was on my wrists and hands. The blade locks in well and I was able to put considerable pressure on the tool. I haven’t used any of the other blades, but I imagine they will work just as well as the one I used.

The tear drop pointed blade will surely come in handy on my future projects. The price on this tool makes it a great value. I definitley would recommend it.

There’s lots of tools like this out there, but this is about the best I’ve used. It’s got some heft to it, the edges that should be sharp are, and ones that shouldn’t be aren’t.
