The negative reviewer on here didn’t even use the scope and can be ignored. Is this a $1000 Vortex spotter? Nope. It’s a sub $100 Firefield. Should you expect it to perform like the $1000 Vortex? Nope.

It’s a sub $100 Firefield. Will it spot out to 1000yds? Yes. But the glass isn’t $1000 glass so you cannot expect it to perform in that regard. It does the job well and if you don’t have $1000 to spend, it does it well.

I’m impressed with the image quality under all light conditions Of this spotting scope. Has made a nice telescope for star and moon gazing too. I do wish the eye relief was a little more forgiving.

I looked everywhere for an affordable spotting scope, and even purchased a different brand first before returning it and buying this one. I don’t think there is anything out there that performs as well as this one does for under $ dollars, and this performs as well as some that cost much more.

The stand works well, and the case is nice for carrying it all without having to worry about damaging it. I bought it for the range, and can see small caliber holes from 100 yards with ease. I would definitely buy it again.

If you are the proud owner of a classic Win. 9422 and desire more options with scope positioning these weaver mounts will help. They slide on and are held tight with two set screws. You may wish to place a piece of plastic between the mounts and receiver to prevent damage to the top of your receiver.

these mounts have only two slots for full size rings but I cut a third slot to offer a better fit with my scope.

Perfect help to give scope a little lift to get over the front sight easy to install.and able to adjust eye relief by be able to slide scope forward and back with ease.

I bought this from BPS about 3 weeks age for hunting and 3D archery. I was so disappointed with this range finder I returned it last night. I shoot in a Wednesday evening 3D league plus go to 3D shoots a couple times a month on the weekends.

I’d been struggling with the accuracy of this unit since I got it. I usually get 1-3 yards per target more than the other guys I shoot with. It will range white objects fine but dark targets are another story.

(I told the clerk I returned it to, there are not a lot of white deer running around and they are illegal to shoot anyway. ) Last night on a coyote target I would get 42 yards on the brown body, but 40 yards on its white legs.

My buddies were getting 40 on the body. Even worse on a black bear target, I got 39 yards while the other guys got 34. 5 yards. Now a 4. 5 yard difference at that distance would mean a 4-5″ miss with a perfect shot.

Not acceptable!!!!.

The description does not tell you what you really need to know. In rifle mode you have to choose your caliber, bullet weight and velocity before it will generate the ARC range. It only lists common factory loads that are sighted in @ 100 yards.

It does not include the 6. 5 Creedmore. I sight my rifles at 2 1/2 high at 100 yards then I use the ARC to give me correct yardage. I do not want Bushnell telling me my bullet drop from a dead-on @ 100 yards.

Download the instruction manual prior to purchasing the odd rangefinder I definitely wish I would have. However if you are using for bow hunting, it might work ok, but then why would you need 1300 yards? The first antelope the unit would not range.

I grabbed my Wildgame 1000 and it ranged it @ 292 yards immediately.

Purchased in Sep of 2020. Sat in my bow case for all of but 5 uses. Go to pull it out, will not read yardage. Everything woks except the yardage reading. Call customer service and they ONLY WARRANTY FOR 1 YEAR.

RIDICULOUS that you pay $200 at Cabelas for a rangefinder, you think it would have a good warranty but nope. They’re glad to send you a “25% off” voucher to purchase another one that will most likely fail within a few months after warranty expires(a one year warranty?!? For hunters? IšverstiShow in original languageWas looking for Sports Match rings as I have on other air rifles, but they were only in the UK and shipping cost was high. I have two Hawke scopes and they punch above their price, so I took a chance on their rings.

They are nice, Thick, wide rings with dual screws at every point (lots of work but more secure for high power springers) and a recoil pin. The only thing I’d like to see is less gap between the halves of the rings for a more finished look.

I was looking for the lens & retaining ring for my bow sight on the internet and was surprised to find it here rather than an archery retailer. The lens is not the highest quality – obviously not optically centered as I had to rotate it a bit to get it close to same point of impact – but for a 2X lens on a hunting sight, it does the job without costing a huge amount.

At this price, you can afford to get the kit for the retainer and order a higher quality lens if desired.

Let me start with how happy im with my apex covert pro power dot. UNTIL i put this lens in my sight. The apex covert pro 2x lens is very blurry even with my 20/10 vision. Needs better coatings and better materials.

I like the design of the product, but the clarity is definitely subpar. Even though the price is good, unfortunately it isn’t worth it. It can be more clear with using a clarifier in the Peepsight, but then you could have just bought a better quality lens for the same price.

I bought this Celestron Ultima 80 zoom spotting scope so I could look at the sky while I was tracking and photographing with my main rig. It shows the sky with very clear views. The Moon looks stunning and when zoomed in fills more than the viewing area so the craters look impressive.

You can attach a camera to the eyepiece with an adapter which I haven’t found in stock yet. With the adapter I know it will take good pictures of the Moon. I sold my 80mm binoculars to buy this because I prefer to look through one eye like with my telescopes.

I am happy with my choice.

I own 2 telescopes (Celestron 8 SCT & 4 Maksutov) and various binoculars including an 15×70. Bought this spotting scope with little expectations as it has only 80mm of aperture and was so cheap. My purpose was just to have it on my balcony as a practical means of watching boats and planes far away as setting a telescope is a messy job.

But wow, the moment I had a first look, I was astonished. at 20x, it covers almost same area as my 15×70 binos, field of view being slightly less. Lots of light it gathers. when I zoomed in, field of view was still satisfying with no degradation of quality other than some dimming which is unavoidable.

The quality is as good as what I see through my telescopes, except for some purple fringing on very bright objects. I had no issues seeing belts of Jupiter or rings of Saturn (could not see Cassini Division though).

When you zoom in, it gets the moon almost fully in the field of view. It’s great for stargazing too. Lots of pin point stars across the field. Can’t tell the difference with a telescope. I’m thinking of replacing the OTA of one of my telescopes with this one so I will have tracking ability too.

Really loved the optics and portability. Bought two more so I can keep one in the car all the time and give one to dad as a gift (it has enough eye relief too!).

While I’m no pro when it comes to optics (and I can’t compare with any other spotting scope), I can still very much know if a product is good or not by testing it different ways, and I must say that this product is very good, not to mention its excellent price point.

I did “test it” by looking at different objets, both close and far, during both day and night, and could always see very well. I could read the detail of a serial number plate riveted into the inside of street lamp, or read details on the parking access card hanging on the mirror of a car in my parking lot at night (some local light helped of course, as it’s not a night vision device).

I could also see several of Jupiters satellite planets, very impressive. Lastly, I also did check at the windows of a very high restaurant (located on top of a 20 story building) 5 km away, and could see people sitting by the windows, able to tell if they were men or woman.

That too was impressive, Of course, optics can be critical in some applications, but for casual everyday life and general purpose, this scope is absolutely amazing. If not satisfied, you can always return it.

But I bet you wont. : ) Note that for maximum zoom usage, a tripod would be required, which I own and used with the spotting scope, as it will otherwise be a bit too shaky and details will be lost in blurry.

This is an amazing 161gm (without 20gm tripod adapter or 38gm padded bag) eyepiece that converts longer focal length lenses into a monocular, allowing a useful option when conditions may not be optimal for photography, or just to have fun.

I compared it to a quality 9×26 binocular as a reference, using a similar powered 100mm f2. 8 lens on the eyepiece. The clarity through the monocular was equal or better than the binocular, and curiously, the exit pupil was noticeable bigger than the ~3mm binocular, meaning that the maximum exit pupil diameter is closer to 3.

5mm than the spec’d 2. 5mm (hence lenses up to f2. 8). The monocular has a little bit narrower field of view than the binocular’s 5. 5 degrees. A 135mm f3. 5 Asahi Pentax lens (M42 screw mount) with a Canon EF adapter made a small 13.

5x monocular, easily light enough to use the eyepiece tripod adapter (which can be unlatched), with wonderful focus action. The old Pentax is not up to today’s sharpness standards, but it still worked very well.

A 70-200mm f4 lens attached gives a useful 7-20x range, but the Canon version of the lens is varifocal, so you need to refocus with every change of zoom. A spectacular 30x from a 300m f4 can easily pick out the phase of Venus.

For astronomical subjects, you will have to sight along the lens tube to align it. Get your eye in the precise sweet spot, and the image is clean. Colour fringing is very minimal even with extreme subjects.

The focal plane is very flat, but slightly tilted if you find a detailed enough subject that covers the whole field. I didn’t find this was noticeable in normal use. The lens cap covering the rubber eyepiece is prone to slide off, and the bag has a slit in it so you can’t put it in there when not in use.

Using the awesome quality of camera lenses is a great way to get a quality spotting scope. The short distance to the focal plane I think is the limitation to making use of the whole image circle. so now we need a talented DYI’r to figure out how to activate the lens stabilization.

I bought the Kenko Lens2Scope with 45 angled viewer for my Canon EF Lenses. I found that it fitted properly and was sharp and free of colour fringing at all focal points on my lenses, with and without the Canon 1.

4 and 2. 0 extenders for the telephotos: 500mm F4L, 70-200mm F2. 8L, 24-105 F4L, 17-40 F4L. At wide angles, the 17-40 had comical distortions. The Kenko has a 10mm focal length. The magnification of the resulting spotting scope is the lens focal length divided by 10.

Thus, the 500mm F4 is a 50 x 125 spotting scope, since the 500 has a 125mm objective lens. The 70-200mm zoom is a 7-20 x 75 spotting scope, etc. The Kenko is marked “4:1”. I assume it is an F ratio, which implies that the exit pupil of the Kenko is 10/4 = 2.

5mm, which is as stated in Kenko’s manual. I have a pair of Canon 8×30 binoculars with a 7. 5 field of view. With a 70mm lens the Kenko gives 7 power, but a smaller field of view, which I calculated as being approximately 6 by viewing a fence.

In comparison, a 200mm lens on my full-frame Canon 5D IV has a much wider 10 field of view. The narrow field of view does make the Kenko a bit difficult for aiming the spotting scope. The Kenko manual claims the unit has an Apparent field of view (AFoV) of 42.

Astronomers (https://www. oreilly. com/library/view/astronomy-hacks/0596100604/ch04s15. html) calculate the True Field of View (TFoV) as AFoV/Magnification. Since my 70mm lens has a 7X magnification, the TFoV should be 42/7 = 6, which is consistent with my observations noted above.

The Kenko shoe is plastic and a flimsy fit, in my view. I won’t trust any of my lenses to it, and I’ll use the Canon shoes on the telephotos. The shorter lenses will be handheld, which have a comfortable grip, given the 45 angle viewer.

Overall, I’m happy with the purchase, since it makes a spotting scope available to my companions while I’m photographing birds with my other lens.

When I ordered the Kenko Lens2Scope, my big worry was that the image would be too dark with my tele lenses (I have the Nikon 70-300 f/4. 5-5. 6 and the Sigma 150-500 f/5-6. 3. ) My fears were groundless.

I can use the Lens2Scope with either of these lenses well after the sun sets, right up until it’s too dark for me to be looking for birds to photograph anyway. The quality of the image with my Sigma is just spectacular.

At 500 mm, it is sharp as a tack with excellent contrast across the field of view. But the extreme magnification (50x) requires me to use it with my Induro AT314 tripod and Manfrotto 393 gimbal head to provide a stable platform.

This limits its field use, as that rig weighs over ten pounds before I add the lens. But, for use in an accessible blind or as a telescope, it is wonderful. My Nikon is not quite as pleasing. It does not seem to be as crisp, even though the magnification is lower.

And it seems to me to be a bit less bright, even though the lens has a wider f-stop. My version of the Sigma is a gem, and my Nikon is a bit less crisp at full reach – I always stop it down to f/8 or so when I shoot with it to get good IQ out of it.

I can’t stop the lens down when using it with the Lens2Scope, so I guess the magnification just magnifies the weakness of the glass. So you should be happy with the wide-open IQ of the lens you are considering using the Lens2Scope with if you want to be happy with the way the Lens2Scope performs for you.

I have also used the Lens2Scope with my Tamron 90 f/2. 8 macro lens. As the manual says, you can use the Lens2Scope as a 25x microscope with a true macro (1:1) lens. I also find that the Tamron makes a decent low-power (9x) hand-held spotting scope.

Unlike my Nikon, the Tamron is superb optically, even wide open. So it is very usable for this purpose. The Lens2Scope construction is plasticy and less than confidence-inspiring. But it has good optics in it and will do the job if treated with care.

It has a tripod mount that I’ve tried with the Nikon and Tamron lenses. It holds them, although I can’t help but worry while it is doing so. The Sigma has its own tripod mount, and so the Lens2Scope is mounted on the lens instead of the other way around, which is much more reassuring.

The manual warns about using the Lens2Scope tripod mount for any but light lenses, and I would certainly take that warning to heart. The Lens2Scope is about the size of a standard prime lens, and fits comfortably in my camera bag.

It comes with a padded case and end caps. I find that it obviates the need for separate field glasses or spotting scope and saves weight and space to boot. If you tend to carry good binoculars or a spotting scope with you in the field, the Lens2Scope is a very handy alternative.

When buying this scope it’s $ price tag set my expectations appropriately. It’s of medium quality with optics that is fine for birding or sighting your rifle scope at the range. It’s very compact, which was half the reason I bought it (it’s also very lightweight so you’ll probably use it because its so packable).

The other reason I bought it was the 12-36x magnification. 12 is low enough that you can easily find what you’re looking at and isn’t too powerful to use without a tripod. For higher magnifications, you’ll need to steady it somehow.

The included tripod is very small. The only practical use is tabletop when youre sitting in a chair. There is a small car window mount which seems to work well enough. All in all I’d recommend it for casual use.

I’ve only owned it for a few months so I can’t speak to its long term durability.

the handle mechanism on the tripod is shot – -really loose – -will not stand on its own!, the eyepiece is very small – -hard to see thru- -also hard to locate anything – -above 30 power- -the focus rubber was tore away from the adjustment tube to set the magnification- -had to reglue – -still very very stiff – -nearly need a pipe wrench to move the eyepiece to get higher magnification.

seems to be best to stick to good binoculars!.

Compact, self explanatory and light weight. I use it when predator hunting and it is very clear and easy to carry. Can be held by hand steady enough on x12 mag. Very good product and the service from B & H was excellent.

I live in western Canada and had the shippment within a week.
