I bought these to have better integration with my size L Anon Prime Mips helmet than my Smith Squad goggle. They do fog up less, but pinch my nose a lot more. So far I have been using the cloudy/pink lens, and it works well in snow and cloudy/flat light.
a little darker than I would like on storm days, but usable. Haven’t tried out the blue variable lens yet. The magnetic lens swap system is awesome, and really easy. I just agree with a post I saw on the Burton site in that I wish these came with an additional protective bag for the spare lens, since spare lenses cost $105 on their own, etc.
I bought one for $6 on Amazon, though. I’m 6’3″, with a longish, oval face, and not a huge nose or anything, and am always between medium and large helmets. So, these might fit others better. But, yeah, these really pinch my nose closed hard compared to any other goggle I’ve worn with this helmet.
So, 4 stars if they fit you because of the lack of lens bag. 3 stars for me because they aren’t very comfy for me, but work well.

Fully multi-coated optical systems deliver the brightest, highest-contrast images with the least amount of eye strain because only a very small percentage of light is lost before it reaches the viewer’s eye.
Waterproof/fogproof Products are O-ring sealed and nitrogen purged for total waterproof and fogproof protection. These models can withstand complete immersion in water and stay dry inside. The interior optical surfaces won’t fog due to rapid temperature change or humidity.
PC-3 Phase Coating A chemical coating applied to the prisms to enhance resolution and contrast for the brightest and clearest images possible. Ultra Wide Band Coating An anti-reflection coating process that is customized for every lens element in the optical path, in order to allow the best possible light from the front glass all the way back to the eyepiece.
The result? Optimum brightness and true color across the light spectrum. ED Prime Glass ED Prime Extra-Low Dispersion fluorite glass delivers amazing color resolution and contrast and virtually eliminates chromatic aberration and color-fringing to bring out the most distinct details possible in low-light conditions.

Nikon’s black 10-22×50 Aculon A211 Binoculars are ideal for hunters, birders, and avid outdoor enthusiasts who require a range of magnifications for wide-field and detailed observations in all light conditions.
This version is outfitted with large 50mm objectives to draw in copious amounts of light and ensure bright and clear views in challenging situations like at dawn or dusk, or when peering into dense underbrush.
Anti-reflection multi-coated aspherical lenses, made with environmentally friendly Eco-Glass elements, complement the BAK4 Porro prism light path to deliver high-contrast images with enhanced depth of field without edge distortion, and accurate color fidelity.
The Aculon’s sculpted rubber-armored housing is designed to fit comfortably into the observer’s hand and provide a secure non-slip handling. A thoughtfully placed lever located next to the right eyepiece is easy to find with the thumb without having to take the binoculars away from the eyes—putting control of the 10-to-22x magnification range at the observer’s fingertips.
Their zoom range and large objectives make holding the A211 steady for long periods of time challenging, so Nikon includes a tripod adapter that allows them to easily mount onto a support system for hands-free use without the vibration, shake, and arm fatigue that can occur when holding powerful optics like this.
The combination of image quality and user-friendly design make the 10-22×50 Aculon A211 a natural option for intermediate- to long-range glassing.
We love Nikon and these binoculars are no different, they offer a very clear view and allows alot of light to come into the binoculars. We own a few Nikon Scopes also and we have been very impressed with them all.
The prices are great also, there are alot of very high priced options out there and honestly these Nikon ones have just as good if not better viewing in our opinion, but with a much better price. Nikon also stands behind their products which is great since you are using them in the great outdoors! I would definatly recommend these to anyone, whether you are a bird/nature watcher or an avid hunter like we are!.
Most avid deer hunters know there are certain hunting essentials you don’t skimp on when it comes to price. “Optics”, in most hunter’s minds, definitely fall into that category. The old mantra, “you get what you pay for” is generally the rule and not the exception regarding hunting gear.
Not so in this case. These Nikon Aculon binos absolutely deliver way more than you expect them to deliver at such an affordable price. Most hunter’s would argue that if your scopes, range finders, and binos don’t cost you north of $300.
00, then they’re quality and performance will be inferior at best. While this may be true to some degree regarding those items, every now and then an optics manufacturer surprises us all with a fantastic high quality item at a ridiculously low price.
Enter the Nikon Aculon line of binoculars. These guys offer incredible image quality, durability, and superb ergonomics AND at a price nearly every hunter’s budget is happy to oblige. I’ve owned a pair for many years, now, and they remain, to this day, one of the absolute best purchases I’ve made in 26 years of deer hunting.
Just to give you an example of the Nikon Aculon’s pedigree, some hunting buddies and I conducted our own little optics “shootout”. The 3 contenders included a pair of Steiner binos that cost well north of $200.
00, a pair of Leupold binos that cost north of $400. 00, and my Nikon Aculon binos that came in at a meager cost of just under $100. 00. While the Steiner and Leupold binos certainly offer incredible quality and performance, all of us agreed that, in terms of image quality, ergonomics, and construction, my Nikon Aculon binos more than held their own against 2 high quality manufacturers in Steiner and Leupold.
In fact, with the exception of a tinge of peripheral blur in the Aculon, it was almost impossible to truly distinguish a clear winner in image quality and clarity among the 3. So, the final verdict? You can absolutely get amazing high quality optics the higher up the price ladder you climb, but you will certainly not be compromising high quality at an insanely affordable price by choosing from Nikon’s incredible line of Aculon binoculars.
I bought these binoculars in February 2018 over the Internet without actually trying them out first. This proved to be a mistake. I based my decision on having for some time owned a pair of smaller Aculons (8 x 25s), which I really like.
The problem with the 7 x 50s is their extendable eye cups. The design of the rubber cups is the most uncomfortable and unsatisfactory design that, in sixty years of owning and using binoculars I have ever experienced.
I bought these binoculars for use in low light while standing in front of an instrument panel, so the fact that it is absolutely impossible to stop ambient light from entering my eyes from behind the ocular greatly reduces the performance of what otherwise is a highly resolute and brilliant optic.
If the distance between the monoculars is widened in an attempt to fit them better into my eye sockets the separate images do not coalesce well at all. In fact, there is no way to use these binoculars effectively for the purpose that I purchased them.
I have even tried removing the bulbous rubber cups, reversing them and turning them inside out without result. I am now searching for add-on rubber blinkers to stretch over the eye cups. In addition to the ambient light problem, because the only effective way to use these binoculars is to hold them slightly in front of one’s eyes, it is harder to keep them steady because they are without the third anchor point, namely the bridge of one’s nose.
In summary, for the money, the optics on these Nikon Aculon 7x 50 binoculars are superb, both in terms of resolution and brilliance. However, I would not recommend these binoculars to anyone who seriously wants an effective working pair of binoculars for use in low light conditions, particularly if their intended use is from an observation station that has even the lowest level of ambient lighting.
