20 Best Scooter Helmets For Adults (2023 Updated)

I wear prescription glasses so wanted a helmet with a drop down visor. I like that the visor is dark enough even in bright sunlight but, it made a slight crackling noise from the wind moving it back and forth.

I fixed that problem by placing a piece of tape in each side of the groove that the visor slides into. I also wanted speaker pockets. Unfortunately, the pockets are a bit too far back which makes it difficult to hear.

Besides those two issues it looks good and is a comfortable fit. I recommend using the Scorpion helmet sizing chart. My head measured exactly 21 1/4 so I ordered the XS and it fit perfectly. I would recommend this helmet with the above caveats.

I bought two helmets (XL, L) one for my wife and one for me. I was a big fan of Scorpion. The helmets are good quality but not comfortable if you wear eye glasses. Scorpion made a big mistake by discontinuing the Exo-C100 which was a perfect fit for someone who wears eye glasses.

I called Scorpion to ask them about why the discontinued making the Exo-C100 they didn’t have a good reason. I tried to explain to them that almost every biker at least wears sunglass. Time to move on and find a better helmet.

I fully recommend this helmet. The fit, comfort, drop down shield and snap in ear pieces (though I don’t use them) are all of excellent design and function. The shape is a traditional appearance. A quick release helmet strap found on other brands would be a nice improvement.

I would buy this helmet again. I wear a white helmet and live in Florida.

This helmet looks so nice, and having ordered from Retrospec before and loving the service and product, it was a no brainer to order this and protect my…. well, brain. It’s stylish and straightforward.

I will say, I measured my head before buying and despite ordering the large, it’s still pretty tight. So my fellow (pretty!!!) big-headed people be warned. For average-sized heads, I think it’s win! I’ll be keeping just because it’s so pretty.

But i’ll be hoping for an XL size some day!.

It’s an okay helmet. It works if you’re okay with the size (extremely bulky/ looks huge on my head). I wanted to return but would’ve only gotten a $2 refund with all the fees Retrospec has. Personally I think the Remi helmet has a sleeker look to it so I ended up buying and using that one instead.

Will have to figure out what to do with the Dakota helmet though.

First off, it’s really is a lovely helmet. The finish is great, and the little features like the magnetic clip and the hole to put your lock through really separate it from the run of the mill helmet options.

It fits very much like a BMX helmet, more of a bucket feel than a road helmet, but pretty comfy albeit lightly padded. I’ve owned a ton of helmets over the years (I’m a year round bike commuter) and this one is by far my most stylish! However, I should have listened more carefully in the comments about sizing — IT FITS SMALL! I’ve always been a Medium with my helmets but the Heritage Medium was super tight.

And as I live in Canada that’s when it got complicated. Noting the other Canadian’s comment, I’d disagree as it does NOT cost half the price of the helmet to mail it back, but it was $25, and then I got a customs charge on the new one that was sent.

So that’s the bad news. The good news is that the Thousand Support team were super responsive and even gave me a refund on the unexpected customs charge, which I appreciated and took the sting out of the process.

So overall, a thumbs up from me, it’s a terrific product, just ORDER UP A SIZE. Safe riding!.

The instructions tell you to make sure the helmet is pulled down far enough over your forehead, and warn you not to keep the helmet tilted up too much. I neglected to do this my first bike ride and got a pretty bad headache.

However, when the helmet is in the correct position, the visor obstructs your view if you’re on a road bike or any other bike with an aggressive geometry. I’m used to keeping a fairly neutral spine and just looking up with my eyes to look ahead, but can’t do that with this helmet as the visor is in the way.

However, the adjustable plastic portion of the helmet goes so far down the back of my head that lifting my head up enough to see forward means the plastic actually digs into my neck. This neck angle, the sharp plastic digging into my neck, and the heavy weight of the helmet (490 grams for the large, whereas most XL helmets I’ve used before have all been under 400 grams) all contribute to headaches and general discomfort.

At a particular head angle, the vents on the top of the helmet will whistle pretty loudly. I have a pretty oval head shape, and no matter how tight I make the adjustment, the helmet can swing side to side more than it feels like it should.

I know my head is more oval than normal because I’ve never been able to find a motorcycle helmet that doesn’t press way too hard into my forehead (without fail every helmet gives me a huge headache after more than an hour of riding, I always have to shave down the front EPS foam with a knife) while still remaining snug around the rest of my head.

This helmet therefore looks way too wide on me, it doesn’t look nearly as good as it does on the models on Thousand’s website. My head is 60. 5cm, but perhaps I should have gotten a medium to compensate for the ovalness of my head—although I’m not sure a medium would have enough length to fit my head, the large already feels pretty snug front-to-back.

The number and size of vents are really very small. I have not used this helmet through a summer yet but I can see it becoming very uncomfortable on strenuous rides. I would have just bought the MIPS helmet which has much more adequate venting and looks like it would be far more comfortable if it 1.

was in stock, 2. didn’t have that light that I don’t need or want, 3. wasn’t so expensive. The U-lock hole so far has worked exactly as advertised, it magnetically snaps back into place and is very convenient; I wish other helmet manufacturers would take note.

The magnetic latch is fantastic, it can be easily done up and undone with one hand once you get used to it, which means no more having to stop after you start riding having forgotten to do up your helmet.

The padding is easy to take off and seems to be very washable. This is actually one of the primary reasons I bought the helmet (although it was really difficult to find a picture of the inside of the helmet anywhere on Thousand’s website, I think I actually had to watch one of their YouTube videos to catch a brief glimpse of the inside of one); my last helmet had forehead padding integrated with a visor which I think must have been made out of cardboard, and would soak up a ton of sweat and was not exactly washable.

I would soak the thing through with sweat in my morning commute, and it wouldn’t even be dry by my evening commute. So it smelled horrible no matter how much I tried to clean it. This Heritage helmet has much less padding and no cardboard visor, so this is not a problem.

However it might have a bit of the opposite problem: there is no horizontal strip of padding along the forehead and the vertical strips of padding are quite thin, meaning it does kind of feel like my forehead is pressing into the EPS foam directly and is not as comfortable as it could be.

I ride a Onewheel GT. After having a pretty violent wreck I promised my family that I’d start wearing a helmet. I purchased the Heritage in Navy and had it customized. It took a couple weeks to get and when it arrived it was very nice looking.

There was one little spot that was whitish but besides that it was perfect. The adjustability is great and the helmet fits me very well. Unfortunately, I had the opportunity to test out the safety of the helmet when I had a wreck at 20+mph.

The left rear side of my head struck the pavement and manhole cover that caused the wreck. I thought for sure I had crushed the shell of the helmet but was thankful for having a helmet on. Once I reached my final destination I took my helmet off and was amazed that there were only minor scratches and the shell integrity was fully intact.

The only resulting injury was a skinned elbow torn pants and a headache.

First reaction, looks cool and lightweight! Tight getting on, but molds to the head right away. Love it, no discomfort at all, I have worn it for about 30hrs total riding. Bought it about a month ago and love it.

It was tight getting it on as expected with a new helmet. Did my first test and wore it for an hour ride with no discomfort. I attached bluetooth speakers/mic and fits like a glove. Great view, wide, easy to drop the visor.

Airflow is great as expected with a half helmet, but tope vents work too.

the concept is awesome. however, everything is exactly as they say 3 helmets in one. the detachable lower half is a real pain in the back side to release. all other parts are flawless. I’ve had 2 other scorpion helmets.

the evo 250 and the fullface version too. the weight difference is so much better. but the sizing is off for this helmet. i took and xl in old style and on the covert x seems loose. i would suggest one size down.

i use scullcandy indy evo pods will riding straight pipe harley. i can hear music just fine and the chin straps apply enough side pressure to keep them in ear even in half shell mode. i did notice that previous version air vents circulate air better though.

all in alll would purchase again.

Looks awesome… but horrible to actually ride in. The wind noise is EXTREMELY LOUD, the visor lets wind in that causes my eyes to water, and it is about as arrow dynamic as a brick, my head is tossed around like a rag doll doing anything over 45-50mph.

It’s also not able to use wireless blue tooth because of the way it’s made inside, no where to mount/stick the ultra thin ear speakers. Even wearing normal tiny ear buds, the way the helmet is made the ear buds are pressed into your ears until it hurts.

Only good thing about this helmet is it looks good. But if they fix all of these things then it’s a $500+ helmet. Therefore, just don’t waste your time or money.

Overall, I like the lid. Love the integrated visor and that it comes with a clear one to swap as well. It fits perfect although after prolonged time on the melon, the upper ears start to feel uncomfortable.

The removable chin piece is nice and the airflow through the front is sufficient to keep the face cool in warmer weather but ibwoyldnt recommend if riding in colder weather unless wearing a neck gaiter.

The vents on the top don’t really seem to offer any more airflow that is perceptible. Also, if you’re like me and wear sunglasses behind the visor, be aware if you have polarized glasses. Once you flip the visor down, you get all the wavy lines and it can take some time to adjust to.

It does make all dark colored cars look like they have a chameleon type paint job though! Happy with the purchase and would recommend for a decent helmet on a budget.

In other reviews at F9, they say that the helmet looks really cool and I agree. On the flip side, it seems to be built a little cheaply – like the sun visor can literally drop down if you shake your head up and down.

Other things on the flip side is the value. For the price you pay and for what this is, you really might as well get a full face helmet for even better protection. If you are looking for an open face helmet, I recommend going with other brands as they simply look better in general, offer the same protection, and possibly cost less.

When you take off the face cover, which offers no protection aside from bugs and very small debris, the open helmet looks bad. Like Tom Arnold said in True Lies, “Hey, I remember the first time I was shot out of a cannon!” For what this helmet is, you simply cannot justify the price unless you are really just into the looks.

If they made this helmet full face, with a better sun visor, that would be amazing.

I love this guy! All its interchanging parts are quick are easy to understand. It has a cool look my buddy says is between Speed Racer and Cobra Commander. hope it never has to save my life. Praise be to baby Buddha.

also it has a feature to add Bluetooth and I’m saving. For now though I can comfortably wear my Beats it. Bonus for sure. I usually hate full face helmets because it robs my visibility. but I’m safely seeing everything with this.

Obviously I need to spin my head a little further to get over. but the pros outweigh the cons here. Don’t buy one though. I want to be the only one looking this cool. Lol keep the shiny side up guys and gals.

Excellent features in this helmet! Completely changed my riding experience. Helmet comes with mouth cover, dark eye lense and clear lense for night. (dark installed from factory) mouth cover comes with an additional chin cover that you can have in for breezy days or out for hot days.

The ear pockets inside are more than adequate for wireless earbuds or comms, no weird pressure points. Helmet is light weight and extremely comfortable right out of the box. Only reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is the wind noise is quite high when speeds of 80kmph or more are sustained.

Wireless buds fix that issue. Styling is on point for a naked / sport bike and fits the bill for that bad a$$ look. Often get compliments on how cool it looks. This helmet does fit true to size according to their specified sizing chart.

Use a string to measure your head and go from there. Now the price is a bit high, but in my opinion, worth every penny.

The top. Thank you it’s worth the price. In addition the delivery is fast and very neat. Very serious seller and I recommend closed eyes. The size corresponds to the French standards.

I’m actually very confused. Firstly, how do none of the reviews not mention how uncomfortable this helmet is, and secondly, why on earth did Smith decide to have two rigid, cold pieces of plastic digging into the back of your head while wearing this helmet? It makes no sense.

Any time I look up they dig into the back of my neck. Maybe this helmet was better when it had the Boa system, but I’m not sure how this got beyond the drafting board. It’s pretty much the same feel as a cheap/poorly designed bike helmet.

Love the look of it though.

My son received this helmet from his dad for his birthday this year. He got it in black to go with his new bike. He really loves it. He typically doesn’t want to wear his helmet for fear of looking “uncool” in his words but this one makes him feel great! It goes really well with the style of his bike and it got really good safety standards too boot.

I gave 4 stars because revzilla shipped with fedex. FedEx lost the package and gave me the run-around for 12 days before I got this helmet. Would be 5 stars otherwise. I absolutely love this helmet. The fit is exactly what I was looking for.

It sits high on the back so it doesn’t rest on the collar of my jacket like my Belfast does. Also the flip down visor doesn’t “float” like the Belfast. The big visor on this helmet is huge. Covers clear to below my chin (beard still in the wind) and the peak visor should be great in the dry season for blocking the afternoon sun.

This helmet fit my sena 20s perfectly with slim speakers and doesn’t pinch my ears. And the quick fit feature for my eyeglasses is perfect. No trouble with my prescription glasses or my wear over polarized glasses.

(Yes I wear doubles) Overall I give this helmet 10/10 but shipping 1/10, no fault of revzilla.

Revzilla is a great company. This is an outstanding helmet. I have a long, long head. I wear an Arai Signet X in 2xl. I also own a LS2 Strobe in 3xl. I’ve been using a 3/4 Fulmer that came with a bike I bought.

Decent helmet, but my forehead was in agony after a half hour. I have a Scorpion EXO-100 half helmet with drop down shade in 2xl. It fits ok. I really like the drop down sun shade. I won’t own a black helmet.

Too hot in the summer for me. I ordered the EXO-CT220 in 2XL. Largest Revzilla had in white. I kept it 3 weeks, wearing inside the house trying to decide to keep it. It was tight in the forehead. I lucked into an open box return on Ebay for a 3xl in white for $70.

00 shipped. I snagged it up, and returned the 2xl to Revzilla. The return was painless, shipping was reasonable at $8. 00. Now on to the helmet. The fit is a fairly long oval. Not as long as my Arai, but close.

I have this in one size bigger than my Arai, and it is pretty darn comfortable. The ventilation is awesome. I feel the wind flowing over the top of my head. The vision through both shields is perfect.

The clear shield is so optically correct, I forget it is down. It aslo has multiple detents which hold firmly. The drop down sun shade is dark and clear, like wearing a pair of Ray Bans. I’ve been out below freezing with a neck gator.

The clear shield protects my face just fine. The sun shades clear my prescription glasses no problem. I have two nit picks. 1. I wish the strap was a couple of inches longer like my Arai. The strap is too short to get the helmet on without taking my glasses off.

2. Even with the sun shade adjusted to the highest setting, it still touches the top of my nose. I would like it more forward on the helmet like the shade in my EXO-100 or LS2 Strobe. Both of these are forward enough to completely clear my nose.

I can’t wait for the weather to warm, so I can remove the shield and install the visor. For a buck fifty, this is an incredible helmet. It carries a 5 year warranty like my Arai. Well done Scorpion.

I’ve had this helmet for about a week now, I have tried it with the brim attachment and the visor attachment at speeds ranging from 0-85 mph. From my experience, this helmet is great for anything below 60mph (note: my bike has no windshield so I’m catching all the wind).

My normal commute to work is about 40 minutes with 90% of it being on the highway. It was a constant battle fighting the wind because of how poorly aerodynamic it is at high speeds. By the time I got to work my neck was sore from the drive.

All this being said, it is amazing when I use it for short trips around town and I’d definitely recommend this as a secondary helmet. I would definitely opt for something with more comfort and streamline if you plan on riding fast without a windshield, or for any trips longer than 30 minutes.

Well the worst happened I was in a severe accident breaking both of my legs, flying 60ft and landing on my head. This helmet did its job perfectly. Being SNELL I did suffer a good concussion and still have amnesia from the entire week leading up to my accident but it kept me alive and that is what’s important.

Two months later I am fine and outside of the first day I had no issues with speech or memory. The emergency paramedics, the officers that responded, as well as my surgeon all agreed with a lesser helmet I would have been dead on impact.

The officers in particular were incredibly impressed having been the first ones at the scene, thankfully I don’t remember how mangled I was but my friend said he had to hold in vomit. This was my very first helmet and 5 years later it was still up to the task.

At this price point I really don’t think you can beat it, you can pay double the price and still not get emergency release pads or a rating higher than DOT. I recommend the R420 to every new rider I meet hoping to keep them safe.

Okay so the “Air” in Exo-R1 Air represents all the air that come in thru the bottom of the visor. honestly it doesn’t not seal at all. Both sides on the bottom barely touch the gasket so all the air comes in.

I’ve had this helmet for almost 2 months and I mostly ride with all vents closed to decrease wind nose. I don’t know if the visor is warped from me stretching it apart to insert the pinlock. but it really sucks at sealing for it’s price tag.

anyways that’s the only issue I have with it, If not it would have gotten 5 stars. My exo-r420 seals a lot better than this one. The hinge is also softer than the exo-r420 and easier to open when fully shut.

Works well no complaints there. This is my 3rd scorpian helmet and I will continue to buy scorpian because of their bang-for-the-buck products. I would purchase this helmet again. I got the gloss carbon from another website because it’s not offered on revzilla.

Looks super nice. They also have a matte carbon. Check those out first. Styling is aggressive and aerodynamic. Even better than my exo-r420 on my naked bike. i like the 3 shell sizes. It’s a pretty firm fit.

Im right in between the medium size. If you’re head is at the top of medium you can probably keep a medium. If you’re passing the medium by a bit then maybe go for the large. You also have the button to inflate the pads for a better fit, (which I haven’t used yet because mine fits fine.

The helmet WILL BREAK in so don’t worry if it’s a big snug. It’s also superr lighttttt. That’s it hope it helped. Helmet is awesome and comfortable overall. Free visor and pinlock is a plus so the helmets actual value is like 350.

Wish scorpian would have designed it to seal. Wind noise isn’t terrible, you can live with it but air does get inside when you don’t want it too.

This is a great safety helmet for the purchase price. I was satisfied with the purchase as soon as a took it out the box. Sturdy fit, good solid material, comfortable chin scrap, and to top it off, cool front removable safety sun glasses.

I purchased the medium helmet with my e-bike purchase and accidently purchased a large helmet on my second purchase of a tire pump. I liked the larger helmet fit better which I accidentally purchased and had no problems or hassel on returning the first medium helmet I’d purchased.

I contacted Best Buy through their online chat service and their customer service representative emailed me a prepaid return label I sent it back the next day. It took about 3-4 days for Best Buy to receive my return and credit my account.

I am very satisfied with Best Buy product and return policy. I also compared the XHoover-1 helmet to others in near by bicycle retailers in my area but the quality and price was no match with the Best Buy product.

Had a accident on my ebike ran into turning car or car didn’t honor respect bike lane. Please people respect bike lanes. I fell off bike but this helmet protected my head as head fell back onto pavement.

So happy I purchased this helmet. Great product I wear when riding my ebike. Remember SAFETY FIRST!.

I absolutely love this helmet. I used to be a competitive cyclist and helmets similar in design to this are at 6X more expensive than this. This helmet is, in my opinion, the same or better quality than name-brand, professional cycling helmets of the same design.

I’m just not understanding who HJC is building helmets for. I have a standard intermediate oval head, once described as a perfect head; loved and tenderly caressed by the women in my dating life (and some not in my dating life).

So why do HJC’s helmets absolutely destroy my forehead after an hour? I purchased a cheapo HJC for around $150 from a local shop just to get me through my riding course and, without fail, after an hour of riding it felt like the helmet had a vicelike grip on my forehead.

So I purchased this helmet thinking the improved quality might solve my problem, boy was I wrong. Like clockwork, as soon as that 60 minute mark passed, my forehead would begin splitting open, vision would blur and my concentration would falter.

The padding around that area is almost non-existent, you are essentially having hard EPS liner pressed up against your skull. Their is also a flap at the top of the left strap that has a tendency to open up a bit and dig painfully into my ear – takes some fiddling to set it back into place.

The locking mechanism on the visor can also be annoyingly present in your field of vision, especially if you want to keep the visor slightly open. Head vents are nice, really feel the air flowing through, but I do keep my head buzzed very short.

Really nice helmet, very well made, everything feels quality. Not just for sport bikes either, I ride an XSR900 and the field of vision is perfect. Great ventilation, and not too noisy at all IMO. Fit wise it runs a little small, I measure 59cm and have a long/intermediate oval head shape.

I went with the XL and it’s a perfect fit. The included smoke visor is fantastic, not too dark, and ok in lower light situations. Pinlock insert works really well too, and no distortion. Finally, the HJC logo on the matte black version peels right off if you want a cleaner look.

Highly recommended.

Let’s set my position I’m a Shoei RF guy, I had an RF1000 and an RF1100 that I liked a lot. Previous to that, I had an HJC which protected me perfectly in a crash Recently I was locked out at work for 5 months and I needed a new helmet because my RF was just to old.

I new that I could count on HJC to provide me with a good helmet for not a lot of money The price at which this thing sells is unbelievable for what it is. Yes the visor operation is a bit clunky , but the visor opens, locks and works good.

(Again compared to a $600+ helmet) The fit for my head is good, it’s very breezy and noisy , so not really suited for my riding (90% highway speed, earplugs are a must for any ride more than 40 km) But again , the fit and finish and comfort is unreal, how can they make such at thing at this price is remarquable.

To the point that it made me feel bad about wanting to buy my next RF, now that I’m working again. Why shouldn’t I buy a more expensive HJC instead ?.

I normally would have bought a top of the line helmet but with the new ECE regs coming next year decided to buy a cheaper one for now until the new ones become available. But this is a great helmet, esp for the price.

Looks and quality are much better than what’ve you would expect. The Milo orange I got could be mistaken for a helmet costing 3x the price. Fit and comfort is v similar to the RPHA range, just not quite as plush.

Venting is very good and noise is about average.

On our way to Cota for MOTOGP we had very high southwinds going against us so there was alot of wind buffeting at over a 100 mph, so it was hard to see. But on the way back the wind was at our backs.

No buffeting issue at all. So my buddy w/ a much more expensive ARAI had the same issues. So nothing to do w/ helmet design. The HJC is a good helmet! Light and comfortable!.

Bought for my wife, and she loves it. Fits well and she loves the visor. She loves the red color. Fit and finish are excellent. I tried one also but the visor hit my eyeglasses, but fits my wife’s eyeglasses so you need to try it.

its very comfortable, medium weight. Have not felt any meaningful airflow but for the price its great. Added a Ryder Wear quick disconnect buckle for easy on and off. I wish it had some additional ear padding or pockets to for warmth and to accommodate earbuds like my Scorpion or the zip out on my other HJC CS-2N.

Also wish that it had provisions for optional visors for shielding under setting sun conditions and optional clear sun shield for night riding.

1) The shield is not insulated enough and at 50 mph creates a draft in front of the eyes. Therefore, one needs to use another eye protection. 2) The bottom edge of the shield touches the nose (and I do not have a big nose)! One has the retract the shield a bit so the nose is cleared.

3) The tabs used to remove the shield are weak! They can easily break. In fact one of them broke. 4) The strap is too short in comparison with other helmets’.

Very happy with the speed of delivery and packaging. The only downside was one of the helmets visor screws had sheared off. I rang Pushys to get some replacement screws and they said they didn’t have any and it would need to go through a manufacturers claim.

Seemed like a long difficult process. I found the importer on line and they were able to send me out a bag full of replacement screws and a bunch of 100% stickers in 48 hours for free. I went from having a very unhappy 14 year old boy who couldn’t use his helmet to a very happy one.

Don’t get me wrong I was happy with Pushys, I just think they would be wise to carry some replacement inventory of things that are designed to break when needed.

Just had to renew my boys helmet after two years since the last purchase. The previous helmet plastic screws started to disintegrate so was not risking with the other aspects. We live in the territory and noting seems to last.

Was really impressed with the 2 day turnaround with express post to the NT.

bought this as I have a large cranium and nothing ruins your day faster than a tight lid. the status runs a little on the warm side but the fit is good. This model isn’t as bright as some (good thing) as I prefer a more muted rig.

Great quality product, not cheep but if you want a cheep lid? don’t look at 100%.

I like that it’s easy to put on and take off yourself. All you do is is slide a tab in to comfortable position then pull the red tab up to release it. If your worrying about getting the right size they are pretty accurate on chart.

If your like me and right in-between 2 sizes go smaller. They run slightly larger by 1/4″ to 1/2″. I still had room and was worried until I tightened the chin strap then it adjusted perfectly. No complaints.

First time using a mushroom helmet, looks weird but is very comfortable and keeps your head cool much better than a flip up helmet. The price was great as well. The black matte finish is nice and even.

Really doesn’t feel or look like a cheap helmet. Fits like other helmets I have, same size.

This helmet is lgihtweight and extremely comfortable. With how cheap it is i was a little worried at first, but this helmet is great quality! Will definitely buy again once the dot certification expires!.

I’m pretty happy with it so far. Magnetic clasps are nice and convenient. One of those things I didn’t know I needed. It’s not super ventilated but hasn’t made my head sweaty either. Visor stays in securely and is just large enough to shade from the sun and reduce wind into my eyes without obscuring my vision.

Seeing older reviews about the visors falling out, nutcase must have updated the design with the mips helmets as once it’s snapped in it’s staying in. In order for wind to even have a chance to do so I’d have to be travelling at highway speeds.

If I were regularly removing and reattaching it I’d expect the attachment joints to eventually stress and break though. So I would consider the visor to be just removable enough to let you figure out which way you like it then stick with it.

It is heavy for a bike helmet and that’s definitely noticed when making relatively quick head movements like shoulder checks. The mips system makes it a little slidey even when on tight which increases that feeling of heaviness.

But it’s a comfortable fit otherwise so I eventually adjusted and got used to it. Even on long rides it’s fine. I still notice the weight when checking my shoulder but that’s it, really. I got it because the color looked to be a close match to my bike’s online and indeed is IRL.

It def gets more attention than if I were to have just gotten a “normal” sporty one and that could be a plus or minus depending on the person I guess. Weirdly enough a low yet still nonzero amount of people seem to think I’m repurposing a medical helmet though.

Which I didn’t expect, lol. I uh, don’t think a seizure helmet would have the word “nutcase” on the front in reflective lettering.

I have a perfectly fine – in terms of functionality – helmet now. It’s black, has all these vents, ultralight, Mips protection, etc BUT I wanted a helmet that looked a tad less “dorky” :-). PROS -it sits up very high on the head but accomplishes objective #1 – the helmet actually looks decent.

I remember I never felt dorky wearing a helmet when riding horses and this accomplishes the same. -good fit: this is the most imp’t w/any helmet. If it doesn’t fit, you’re always going to be fidgeting w/the straps, adjusting the helmet, etc.

and hate it every time. This one fits my head perfectly. -magenetic buckle: pure genius -straps: every easy to adjust (easily than many others) -color: I ordered something different from the standard black – dirty martini – wonderful color/without looking like you’re a member of the army Notes -wish they included extra cushion pads: the helmet works for me but I can see that for some others they may wish for a few extra cushions -heavy: this helmet is heavy; like 4 times heavier than my current dorky but great helmet (that one I can’t feel the weight at all but it doesn’t fit as well).

However because the helmet fits so well, doesn’t shift around, it’s fine but if you don’t have a good fit, the weight is going to be a factor.

I bought this for my husband because we heard they work with people who wear hearing devices. My husband has a cochlear on each side of his head. When he tried the regular helmets the cochlear would fall off because the helmet fit him right.

This made him not to want to wear a helmet at all. So when we found out this helmet was highly recommended for that people who wear hearing devices I checked them out right away. The gal I talked to on the phone was so helpful and answered all my questions.

Needless to say my husband loves his new helmet. We followed the video on how to tighten the helmet to fit correctly. He said he has no. problems with his cochlear being loose. The helmet keeps the magnet snug to his head like it should be.
