20 Best Scissor Jack For Car (2023 Updated)

You best know how to use a jack before ordering. Not only are there no instructions on where the jack handle goes BUT it isn’t even labeled on the picture. It is a good thing my daughter and I had experience in how to work a jack.

First it looks stable with big wide bottom plate. After 2 uses. the lower 2 bolts gave up twisting down to 45′ side. I had to bring another jack to get it out with big bottom scratches on my minivan.

It turns out the geometry less matter than the use of strong materials.

Gears are stiff and rough. Hard to crank. Maybe it will ease up in time but that’s unknown.

I just place 2 of these on the front of my Imagine 2950RL due to damaging the ones that came on it. I have not even used them yet and just placed another order to replace the back. It’s a noticeable difference right out of the box.

No reason not to replace the other two at this point. If I had already camped with them I’m sure I would have given them a 5.

these jacks wont even think about lifting my 16′ encosed trailer. have to use a floor jack to level & then run these up to stabilize. do not waste your money. i bought some cheap walmart 1500 lb jacks that would lift it with ease, but they stripped after 3 uses.

The jacks themselves are high quality and the screw that runs the jack up and down moves the jack much faster than the previous ones I had installed on my 5th wheel. They are the highest rated as far as load.

The crank handle is much better than the one I had with my old set of jacks, there is a sleeve around the indented part and allows you to crank much easier and faster. Overall I would buy these again and would recommend them.

Very happy with the quality specially compared to what was on my Travel Trailer. Ive attached picture. I paid a little extra to get American made, my only issues was I had to make a run to get hardware to get a socket to fit the screws, and the holes didnt line up on both sides, so I had to buy a new drill bit, I have a box of probably 45 bits but none the right size for this.

Also buy the time I got to drilling the last hole the bit seemed to have worn out and didnt want to go through. I happened to be near the gas line, so I had to be extra careful I didnt push through too far.

These are far superior to the factory tin foil jacks. However, both of my Eaz-Lift jacks are sooooo smooth, that they will extend out while I am towing the trailer down the road. Luckily, on the 2 trips, I found the issue, before the pavement could rip it off of the trailer frame.

My fix was to bungee strap these jacks in a closed position. YES – BOTH jacks. Both jacks are so loose that my kid can turn the nut with his hand to make it extend. Which brings the next issue. Since these are so loose, when it comes time to break down the camper, they let loose so fast, it’s like lowering a NASCAR right after a 4 second tire change.

Once they are put in position, they hold well.

Great replacement. I replaced one of my back jacks that I bent during a deer hunt driving off road. The installation was very easy, however, I used the old bracket from my bent jack that was already welded to the frame of my trailer.

I just unbolted the old one, bent the bracket back the way it was supposed to be and then bolted this one back on. It probably only took me 15 minutes or so. One thing to note is that this jack moves a lot faster than my old jacks.

The threads on the “screw” rod are farther apart so each revolution puts out more movement. This is nice when you have to lower or raise it a lot, but I’ve noticed that it requires more torque than the old ones to get a lot of weight on the jack to stabilize my trailer.

The jacks arrived quickly and are of better quality than I expected for the price. I purchased them because they were made in the USA and they are really good quality. Installation was quick and easy plus they are so flat you can’t see them unless you know where they are.

Our small camper only had two jacks from the factory and when you walked into it the front moved around. These stabilized it now you don’t have to hang on when taking a shower and someone else moves in the camper.

So my LQ horse trailer did not have a stabilizers, the front is balanced by a single hydraulic jack. The whole trailer is aluminum so it’s kind of a challenge to find a mount point as it doesn’t have a typical rv style frame.

The manufacturer had put some aluminum rectangle tubing near the front for a spare tire carrier one side and some more for the propane tanks on the other side. That is what I ended up using until I can get an aluminum welder to add some additional braces at the front for this to mount on.

Besides this they work great. No more movement when walking around. They go up and down fast with the included handle. Wish they would have used a thicker plastic for the included handle though.

I figured for a few bucks more get ones made in the USA. They showed up promptly and seem to be high quality. But when I took off the old one the bolt pattern is off by just enough that I can only get one bolt in.

I would think they would be standardized by now and the 2 I replaced previously did bolt right in. Not about to start reaming holes just to make them work so back they go.

The Ultra scissor jack is advertised as a heavy duty upgrade and is priced higher than many of the alternatives. I was disappointed the metal construction was no heavier than the OEM jacks I replaced.

Two of the four jacks have slightly bent threaded shafts which makes them wobble and rattle loudly when using a small hand drill to raise and lower them. I would have returned them for a different product if they didn’t get roadway paint splattered on them during the first use.

Also, the threaded shaft extends both to the inside and outside when the jacks are lowered. This means when parked you will have a long bolt sticking out from the side of the jack body that will be a trip hazard at shin height.

I use these on my Class C RV. The jacks’ 24-inch full extension is a real plus over the car scissor jacks I had been using, which are too short and need additional pieces of wood to make up for the needed inches.

The crank, however, is too flimsy; it requires a lot of torque (muscle) to lift the RV even slightly. So, as stabilizers, the jacks work well, but not so much as levelers.

BEWARE! These are pretty low quality. For one thing the jacks extend using counterclockwise turns rather than clockwise like every other jack on my trailer or I have seen. And when you’re raising or lowering the shafts are bent so the drill vibrates out of your hand.

I wish I had spent a little more and gotten a better product.

I cannot yet attest to the product’s long-term quality, but I can attest to the fact that it seems to be a good, sturdy product, easy to use, nicely packaged and at a great price with shipping. I have already recommended it to several family members and hope to get many years of use from this.

The jack actually worked as I hoped it would. Supplied with cigarette lighter plug terminal, which I changed to an Anderson plug for greater current supply capability, tested it on the caravan axle with prefect results.

Well I have only used this jack one time but here are my thoughts. The jack is nicely made and is mechanical not hydraulic. this can be an advantage in some cases. The main thing i like about this jack is how low it will go when fully clasped.

I am going to put some oil on the threads to make it work more smoothly the next time I use it. The top part of the jack is much larger than a hydraulic jack so it gives you a bigger pad to put under what ever you are lifting.

This can be handy. It is only a ton in a half so doesn’t lift real heavy vehicles like trucks maybe but has its uses. It is a bit larger than a hydraulic jack but not huge. One thing I did not like about it is the handle that cranks the jack has a round circle C type that you put through the hole in the jack , (Not a very good description) and it kept coming out as I was trying to crank the jack especially in very low position.

Also the handle is not very long so you need to be able to get close to the jack when using it. This can make it inconvenient at times. All in all this jack is not the answer to all but is handy for certain applications where you need to get real low and works in all positions and doesn’t run out of jack fluid.

All scissor jacks do essentially the same thing the same way. Bought this particular one because the base is larger than what you typically see on a scissor jack. It is less likely to flop around while putting it in position and raising it up to make contact with what you are jacking.

Nothing more aggravating than a scissor jack flopping around while your trying to raise it up. This one is more user friendly than most I have used.

Finding an original jack for a ’58 Nash Metropolitan is next to impossible. But this scissors jack offered by Summit will work better than original design, costing less than a 4th of what a used jack would go for.

A short piece of “C” channel was spot-welded on the top for safety but other than that the jack had a wide base for stability and takes up less room than the one from Nash (which was essentially a tri-pod).

I also like the clear and precise instructions in the owner’s manual which are included with the jack. What I do not like is the warning on the package and manual which reads: This product and its packaging contains a chemical known to the state of California to cause cancer, birth defects, or other reproductive harm.

power cord too short. bought an extension at harbor freight for $4. much better. got sick of putting metal plates under my floor jack to stop it from ruining my driveway. so i am trying this jack system.

plus it stores easily in my car.

I have used it 3/4 times Jack is still working but wheel nut remover doesnt work anymore disappointing as only used 4 or 5times would not recommend this item

Impact tool did not take off even 1 lug nut on 2001 mazda miata. electric jack work but very noisy. Don’t expect it to last. air compressor did air up tire. Bought for Granddaughter. Very disappointed

Had flat tire on the way to commute by train- early early morning. Took supplied scissor jack out of car and took 15 minutes just to get the car up by hand. never again! with this easy electric jack👍

Although I gave up driving, I still am a rider with my Son. Having a flat is not fun, so this allows both of us to accomplish something, without disaster physically. Thanks for the Jack, it will come in handy.

i thought this was a full size jack, but i found out it was a scale model. i took it to walmart to exchange for a full size and they would not give me credit for it

I like everything about this jack. This is my second one.

Borderline disclaimer, this isn’t a jack for a shop or working on your car. Out of the box, its careful to remind you in the manual this is intended to be an emergency use jack. Its comparable to an emergency jack you’d find on a large truck, but would still easily work on any car.

If all you need is a jack to replace the one in your trunk, or even upgrade it, this one will have you handily covered. Its no slouch, its probably twice the size as the one in the trunk of a regular sedan, but the truth is when its supporting your entire car, the added “heft” gives you a lot more peace of mind.

It also has a very wide range of adjustability, so I’m sure it would be impossible to find a car it wouldn’t fit under. Taller, lifted trucks may have an issue though, as the lift range isn’t infinite of course.

As for what I use it for? I got it on sale at a price I couldn’t resist and it has a few niche uses. If I need to support the engine or transmission for some reason, I use this in place of a hydraulic jack.

It makes cranking it up or down in extremely fine increments very easy, and without needing the long jack handle from a hydraulic jack its often more workable under a car as well.

When I got to the store to pick up the jacks ( I ordered 2 * In Stock – In Store – Pick up same day ), they were both in damaged boxes. I opened the worst of the two boxes and the jack was dirty, scratched and starting to rust along with dried leaves in the box.

I did not bother to open the other one. In addition to that they were NOT the same jacks as described on their web page. They had large, long steel plates on the bottoms of them and they measured much larger in with than was stated in the specification section on their web page.

I immediately asked for a refund, which they did with no problem. Looked like they had been used, returned and then put back into stock. They did not say that the jack was new on their web site, but they did not say that they were used either! Will not be making the same mistake again!.

I bought 4 of these to stabilize my RV when I am at a campsite. They are study and easy to use. The top plate is perfect for resting under frame rails. The bottom (ground) plate is quite large, as big as my shoe; perfect for resting on the ground without sinking in.

It appears that I won’t have to put a board or brick under it to keep it from sinking in or otherwise shifting. They even come with a jack screw handle. Several other jacks that I looked at didn’t include a screw handle, those were offered for an additional price.

Oh, and, by the way, these are way more reasonalby (i. e. cheap) priced than all of the others that I looked at. I think they are wonderful, work very well, easy on the wallet and would definitely recommend to others.

This jack is exactly what I wanted to carry in my motorcycle sidecar. It is lightweight and reasonably small. The metal is quite thin but for my uses it’s not a problem. I doubt if it will have to lift half its capacity.

I did not want hydraulics because of reliability. You can’t get anything simpler than a screw mechanism, not counting a long lever with a fulcrum.

Purchased this as a compact alternative to a garage jack for multiple cars. Product is solidly made, but I haven’t used it long enough to determine if it will truly last. One improvement would make it easier to use, and last longer: a ball-bearing thrust bearing at the primary load.

My Volvo scissor jack uses one and is much easier to operate. Not a bad product, so far, for the price. Got it cheaper on-line, but the store would match the price.

This a rock solid jack well made does not feel cheap. This a good emergency jack for changing tires. For the price well worth it. As with all scissor jacks using the cranking method sucks this is the only thing I hate on scissor jacks.

Buying this you will not regret it. Works well.

This Jack is a performance monster. 3 full cranks and my B8 S5 was in the air far high enough to slide Jack stands under. This Jack is a beast of a tool. It’s heavy as all out. No need to hit the gym.

Just lug this thing up and down your driveway a few times and you be ready for the shower. It also has a very long reach and a profile that enables it to get under any car. The extension pole is pretty long so if your garage is short on width you will need to work with it at an angle in order to have the space to jack.

Excellent build quality. This thing is heavy, solid, well constructed and can handle any job. If you have an epoxied floor I recommend switching the wheels to polyurethane. I found some 4″ steel wheels wrapped in poly with an 800lb capacity and they work well and holding up so far.

This is the best Jack. If it wasn’t for the weight and overly long pole, I would give it 5 stars.

Purchased this to replace a much smaller Craftsman jack I’ve had for years. Many of you might know that Audi and VW cars typically have two lift points – the pinch weld and a secondary one underneath usually using a giant rubber bumper (I’m sure other makes may have double lift points as well).

When having to do certain home garage maintenance and modifications the car needs to be up on all four Jack stands and anyone who‘s had to do this using just the pinch welds knows how difficult this can be be so I got this to reach further under the car to allow me to jack the car using the secondary lift points to free up the pinch welds for jack stands.

I won’t lie and say this jack is light – as many others have stated this thing is heavy duty and I’d bet most users won’t even be able to lift it off the ground by themselves. But the reach and speed it jacks up is well worth the weight trade off.

Look, I live in an apartment complex, I’m currently in college right? I live on the third floor, I weigh 150 lbs and bench 150. I can’t bring it back up the 3 flights of stairs back to my apartment. But I’ll be damned if this isn’t the best jack I’ve ever used in my whole life.

It has a permanent spot in my cars back seat (totally not due to me not being able to bring it back up) and I’ve used it countless times because of that. It’s lower than a harbor freight Daytona, and long enough to reach almost any point on any car.

The unit was received with a damaged power cord. After contacting your Tech. support group I received a new replacement in a matter of days. The unit performs very well.

So far, this trolley jack has exceeded my expectations, especially at this price point. It easily lifts my 2,700 lb. car. Though it takes a few more pumps than the much higher-priced jacks, it works very well.

I have not tried it on my other, 3,200 lb. car, but I expect it to work just as well. The carrying handle is a nice feature, and the wheels, frame, and hardware seem to be much heavier duty than one normally finds in less expensive jacks.

My one complaint is that the pump handle is very loose in its socket, despite having turned it all the way to engage the locking peg. It is no big deal to hold it in place while I pump it up. I added a hard rubber jack pad to the 2-1/8 in.

dia. lifting saddle, as without it, the hard metal saddle does not have deep enough slots to prevent bending the car frame rails, where most vehicles have their factory-recommended lifting points. (This is an inexpensive addition, available online.

) At first, I was concerned that turning the release valve might cause a sudden pressure release, resulting in a hard landing (as some reviews have warned). Fortunately, I was able to turn the valve slowly enough release the pressure gradually.

The instructions mention ‘bleeding’ the air out of the cylinder if pumping is hard or ineffective, but I did not have to do that. Besides, the drain plug takes a hex or Torx wrench to remove (which I could not identify, as the the entire plug is sealed over with paint).

Also, if you do not have a ready supply of fluid, it is best just to leave it alone and hope it came with no air bubbles in the cylinder. I recommend this product.

I went to use this and it seemed not to work. I thought it must need oil in the reservoir. Don’t make the same mistake I did and disgustedly go buy hydraulic fluid to fill it. When I went to fill it – Surprise! – it was already full.

Used a small wrench, turned the set screw to close the pressure valve – worked like a charm after my silly start. Funny thing is the guy at the store (not HF) from which I bought the hydraulic fluid said “You wouldn’t believe how many people come in here because these things don’t come with fluid in them.

” There must be plenty of us silly folk out there. Word to the wise – It is ready to go out of the box. Hope this helps the next person.

So I was replacing the front knuckles on my 02 tahoe. It was already on a 3in. Lift. And these knuckles add another 3in. By the time I got the truck high enough to put the tire on. Boom. The jack was maxed out.

But because of how wide the base on it is. It didn’t budge. It looked sketchy af. I’m not gonna lie. But in the end. It got the job done. And with that kind of weight on it while being maxed. I’m kinda impressed.

I got this jack because I drive a 2004 Jeep Wrangler, not lifted & stock tires, and needed something that could reach up to lift it. Thankfully, I haven’t had to use it yet, but I know it will be quality when the time comes.

I bought this as a replacement for a suicide jack- it’s much better! Unfortunately it was a little too hard for me to turn, and I watched my help struggle with turning it too. Other than that, it is portable and functional and wayyy better than a suicide jack.

Used it for our truck as well.
