It’s portable but pretty heavy and too big for any standard briefcase. I was able to set up WiFi pretty quickly but then, when I use it in different locations, I have really hard time to get it connected.

When I finally get it connected, it can disconnect any minute, the app will freeze till you restart the phone, and, of course, all your scanned job gets disappeared. It was charging all night last night.

I Unplugged it at 8am. I took it with me for work. I’m a mobile notary. I needed to use It at 11am, was not able to connect to it’s WiFi. 20 min later it started to scan jamming the pages, so 30 min later I had to start it all over because you can’t clear the jam without restarting the whole scanner.

Once restarted, you have to catch the WiFi again and that is not easy at all. Finally, an hour later I had my 100 pages scanned in 5 broken parts. Then I had to use it again at 3pm. I was able to connect to WiFi surprisingly quickly , scanned 40 pages, the batteries died, the app froze, i had to restart my phone and to drive all the way to a regular office scanner to start my work all over.

It’s heavy, it does not scan more than 10 pages at once, It does not pile more than 100 pages into 1 doc, the batteries die in 5 hours of mostly “non-using“ time. I’m very disappointed. I bought it to save time and to make my job easier but it turned out I bought more job and this job became harder than it was before I bought this “convenient and portable” scanner.

Great portable scanner! Very happy with how quickly it scans and how clearly it scans documents. On iPhone you have a choice to save as pdf or jpg. I love that you can save as jpg and send it by text as a picture.

I purchased a couple to try them out with my trucking fleet and have drivers scan 20 page documents with ease. It’s fast and works great. Just not sure how it will last under trucker hands. I don’t think it can handle multiple drops from 2 feet or rolling over if a driver drops it from a sit down position.

The only down side is it connects to phone by WiFi and not Bluetooth. So if your connect to the scanner by WiFi you have no internet connection because the scanner is your WiFi connection and the scanner has no data!! So you must disconnect from WiFi and connect back to your data from your phone to save and send documents by email or text.

other then that, it’s a great product and recommend it to any one who needs a portable scanner. The battery life is pretty good to. This has rechargeable battery and comes with ordinary household plug connection to charge battery.

So if you run in your car or truck, you need a converter to plug in your car and plug this to the converter.

I would have rated this scanner as 5 stars except that it consistently pulls more than one sheet of paper through the scanner at a time. I work in the tech field support many small business clients so I know how to insert the paper, fan it, etc.

to prevent paper jams, but out of 40 or 50 attempts to insert multiple pages of various paper weights, I was only able to get one successful scan all the way through the stack of papers I tried. I’m using this one for mostly personal use so this isn’t as much of a problem as it would be for business use, but I have to say it would be more of a hassle than it’s worth to use it for business use.

There is an option to use a continuous scan to do multiple pages, but it’s a shame that you can’t use the automatic document feeder for multiple sheets. The software was very easy to use and had some nice features.

I’m saying I would recommend this product but I would warn the buyer about the page problems.

I bought it reading description that it is compatible with windows xp professional BUT NOT!! DISAPPOINTED!!

It’s probably user error, but my Kofax scan suite always errors with invalid paper size selected when I try to use this thing’s TWAIN interface. It’s not really a problem though we just import the scanned image from the bundled software.

It grabs the ID when you put it in place which would be fine if the entry path was perpendicular to the rollers, but for some reason it’s tapered with a slight curve so you have a split second when it touches the rollers to have it straight or it will grab it crooked and you have to rescan.

If it wasn’t so simple to see a mistake as it’s scanning and just hit “rescan” this would have been a con but its really no big deal.

Used, but virtually no sign of use. Downloaded 32 and 64 bit drivers from Ambir website (you’ve got to look around for the “Travelscan Pro 600 Silver” model). Works well with Ambirscan 3. 2 (32-bit Windows XP) and AmbirScan 4 (64 bit Windows 7) scanning utilities, which you can also download free from the Ambir website.

Shipped well packaged, arrived promptly.

I bought this scanner to use with my laptop as a mobile scanner, however, it did not work with my Windows Vista 64-bit laptop. I wish I would have known that before I purchased it. The description said it works with Windows Vista so I had no idea there were 64-bit and 32-bit differences.

It works with Windows Vista 32-bit. I contacted the Ambir technician and he said a 64-bit driver was not available. So I installed it on my Windows XP desktop and it worked just fine. Easy to install, easy to use.

Quality of scan was good. So unless you have a 64-bit Windows Vista machine it will work just fine. Meanwhile, I’m still looking for another scanner to use with my 64-bit laptop.

This unit only scans one side. Software could be easier to use. Wife can’t ever remember the name of it due to name being different from scanner and therefore doesn’t use.

Once set up this scanner was awesome. The only problems I had were probably my making. The pictures need to be fed in quite squarely, but even then you can immediately view them on your computer and refeed until it turns out properly.

250 pictures scanned in an afternoon. I was able to create a file and I separated my pictures into what I wanted in a particular folder and just kept copying until I ran out of pictures for that folder.

Then I would create another folder and start over. It just works slick. I recommend it for anyone wanting to digitize their family pictures.

This scanner is meeting all my expectations and more. Here are a few tips to save time and frustrations. Sort all your pictures by size and by how you will insert them into the slot. Set the scanner to Max DPI 600 since you want to get the best quality picture possible.

The Orange light next to power but indicates that it is set on 600 Dpi. CLean the slot on the output side often and gently. More often if you are using older pics unless you clean the photos before scanning.

DO SCANS IN BUNCHES. If you need to clean and dust them do them all at the same time. It is more convenient this way and saves TIME. If you have 1000’s of pictures, I would recommend a 2nd unit. I am not a salesman or represent this Company but you will cut your time in half if you do.

Don’t expect professional results from this product. You can fix pictures after scanning with PhotoShops or other programs. It is the reason you should scan best DPI. Have patience and don’t jam or force pictures.

The most important thing to remember is that those old photos collecting dust and just sitting there are losing their quality as they age. Personally, the old pictures with the stains and color fading gives character to that photo.

I, highly recommend this product. You will enjoy seeing the old pictures and once in digital mode you have many options. Create DVD slide shows or enlargements of those special photos. There is the VUPOINT Magic Wand I am waiting for to scan those photos that cannot be removed from photo books.

I bought this scanner because of the good reviews, and the price was right. So far, I am not disappointed, but I do have a few comments. The scanner supposedly comes with software preloaded on the SD card that allows you to scan directly to your computer.

However, when I put the SD card in my computer for the first time, it said it had to be formatted? I took it from my Dell 580 and put it in my Lenovo T410 and it said the same thing? My only option was to format the card, which obviously deleted any information that MIGHT have been on it.

So, if you are buying this scanner for this software feature, don’t count on it. For me, I plug the scanner into the USB and scan to the SD card, then using Explorer I move the photos to my PC. Also, There is a limited thickness that the scanner will accept.

I had some curled photos and the edges prevented them from feeding. I had some Polaroids from the ’70s and they were too thick to feed. On the positive side, the feeder feeds the photos straight, the speed is respectable, and the quality is great.

It also seems to crop the photo perfectly. I needed a scanner to scan my 70’s childhood photos and it does that nicely.

Great scanner and its fast! The trays are a little tight to pull out and it feels if you pull them hard enough, they may break. The touch screen menu is great. I have only Brother printers in my office so I can use the Control Center 4 to get to the scan screen.

A little limited but it works. The only problem is the ability to download the Paperport program as it does not install on Windows 10 no matter what was recommended online and attempted. More frustrating is the fact that I contacted Brother for assistance in early April and have yet to receive a response or any assistance.

Not too happy about that. However, the scanner itself is pretty good. If you want or use Paperport for the scanner software, then this is not the scanner for you. But if you use other scanner software, as stated this is a pretty good scanner.

Sturdy and very precise. I am a big Brother fan, and have had great hopes for this to improve on my old portable scanner. It is a rechargeable unit and comes with an SD card. It scanned quickly to the SD card which can be open and read by my laptop.

No problems at all if you scan to the SD card. Then came the problem of setting it up for wireless link. It would not connect wirelessly to my laptop no matter what I tried. The Laptop network search can see the scanner it but cannot make a connection.

Spent good time trying without success. Tried web search and Brother help for tips but could not spend more time trying. Then had the problem of the Button Manager software which could not find the scanner, even when it is connected by USB cable and recognized by the computer in the device manager.

The final blow was when the supplied copy of PaperPort refused to install unless I remove the version of software relating to my other Brother MFC printer, which is new and used when at home. I have a total of four Brother machines at home and in my office and they should not conflict with each otherThis is a high quality product but it has software bugs that need sorting out.

Very sad to return it but I need something that does do the job it is meant to do much quicker than this.

When you can get it lined up properly it really is a fantastic bit of kit, but the one thing that lets it down for me is the paper size stopper. For some reason it is very loose and if you have a few items to scan then can start to get poorer in quality and need a reset.

Would have been handy to have it click into place for standard sizes like A4, A5, A6, B5. I find that if i bump it even slightly while trying to line up the document i get a poor scan or if it’s not dead square when i add the page it will push the slider out rather than the paper being pushed back square.

I’ve used many, many types of scanners over the past couple of decades, including flatbed, document, copier/scanner, scanner-printer, etc. , etc. and the Epson RR-600W doesn’t disappoint! While the RR-600W is called “Rapid Receipt” (and it does well with receipts), it really is a full-function document scanner that will satisfy the needs someone who requires desktop scanning for a multitude of document/receipt/statement/etc.

I can scan items to a USB memory stick, send a document via e-mail, send it to a network folder, or to the cloud — no computer needed! You can also set up Presets (favorites) to quickly carryout functions you use the most.

Of course, you can also use the Epson RR-600W with the manufacturer-provided software with your computer to easily scan and save documents quickly. I have the scanner connected to my wi-fi network and also to my computer via USB.

The unit uses wi-fi so you can do things without your computer on, like send scans via e-mail or the cloud. Because the RR-600W has a large touchscreen the size of a smartphone, you can program everything on the screen, but also program many of the same features using the computer software.

The touchscreen is intuitive enough that you can swipe like you can on a smartphone and easily navigate the screens. The included software lets you scan to PDF, graphic formats, etc. , etc. It scans both sides of the document (but you can turn that off).

I also like that you can save as an archival PDF/A, and can add passwords to PDFs. You can also set the PDF so it’s searchable. Also included is the handy Invoice/Receipt Manager, which is software that takes receipts and breaks down the information in easy-to-use fields, including vendor/store, total, tax, tip, pay method, etc.

You can then export the information to QuickBooks Online, QuickBooks Desktop, Quicken QIF File, TurboTax TXF file, CSV File or IMG Image file. The CSV file can easily be opened in Microsoft Excel, so you can do additional work on the data for recordkeeping or tax purposes.

One spot for improvement (but not a dealbreaker) is that the computer software does not let you set all of the settings for the scanner – you have to use the touchscreen on the unit for certain things.

For some things, it can be easier to use a computer keyboard, but that’s my personal preference. Everything about the Epson RR-600W makes it a solid choice for keeping even the busiest professional or home user organized.

I would have liked to give in this product five stars however after reading the box and actually working with the unit, I would have to stay that I’m thoroughly disappointed in the wireless feature. When I called Epson to get an explanation as to why the product will not scan wirelessly past what seems to be 20 pages they really did not have an answer other than it was based on my wireless network.

When i explained that my wireless network is far more superior than they give credit for because I’m running half gig speeds and scanning just basic papers. What ends up happening when you’re scanning more than 20 pages it just sits there and act like it’s processing when nothing ever gets accomplished.

The item does work flawlessly with USB capability but when you go to get a product based on what’s presented on the box and nothing mentioned that there may be issues using the wireless feature or in the words of the Epson representative they prefer that you usually USB cable and it’s not in the documentation that’s where I have my problems.

If you’re wanting this device to scan single pages and nothing more it would be perfect for you however if you’re like me and your archiving boxes of paper make sure you you use the USB cable. Even though AGAIN it’s not mentioned in the documentation!.

Purchased this as I was told that this is a card scanner. It is like any other scanner and does not export business card data to Outlook. Product was returned back to CDW as it did not fit my needs.

The setup and installation process of the software was simple and easy. The product does exactly what it is supposed to and provides high quality duplex scans of ID cards and insurance cards.

this was a pretty good deal as long as you know the cable and calibration sheet isn’t included and needs to be ordered seperately

I was not to sure about this scanner when I read about it as it was not really expensive like some I had looked at. But when I got it in and used it I was very impressed with it. So happy that I ordered it.

I am cataloging old photo’s for the children so they can all have copies and no fighting over photo’s when I pass. And I am so happy with the Quaility of the pictures. Even the really old and faded photo’s are copying so well.

I had some little 1″x2″ thumbnail photo’s and I took and scanned some of them to see how they would do and I could not believe it. They scanned larger and the clarity was great. And those little photo’s were taken back in the late 1940’s early 1950S.

Can’t tell you how happy I was. I would most definately recommend this scanner. My only wish is that it would scan larger photo’s. But I have my big scanner for that. And I see they do make one to scan the 8×10 photo’s.

But I also have the hand held wand scanner for the 8×10’s and it is great also. Between the two scanners I can scan about anything. I have attached a couple of the 1″X2″ photo’s. (Black & Whites) And one color photo to show the Quaility.

I have recently started scanning my old 35mm negatives and this item makes it so simple. A lot of other negative scanners will only scan 1 negative at a time, but with this item, it will scan an entire negative strip in less than 3 seconds using the included adaptor attachment.

You can save your scan to either your computer (you must install the accompanying software) or to the included SD card. Very easy to use and installing the software took only minutes. This item is geared towards the “home” user and is not “professional” grade.

It does NOT run on a rechargeable battery as you must plug it into an electrical source. (Power cord included. ) Scanning photos is just as simple. You can scan in either in 300dpi ~or~ 600dpi mode. My only wish is that Pandigital had included adaptors for the 110, 126, & 120 “medium” negative formats as this would’ve been my all-in-one photo scanner.

I just love this item. Too bad Pandigital went out of business.

I bought this scanner because I wanted to digitise my entire photo album collection starting from when I had my first camera in 1977. They are all 6×4 prints and smaller. I don’t have a scanner and I didn’t want the expense of purchasing a new flatbed scanner plus I didn’t want to be stuck on the computer scanning 3k photos.

What I wanted was a small dedicated photo scanner that can operate independently of a PC and didn’t require dedicated software to upload to the PC. This little scanner ticks all the boxes. Its small, can be put away in the drawer, and uses a micro SD card with an adapter (supplied).

Once scanning is finished you simply remove the card, place it into the PC’s card reader, drag and drop. Superb! Of course there is an option to scan directly to the PC with an USB cable and the supplied software – but I didn’t want that.

What I dislike about is that it does need cleaning requently. Cleaning kit is supplied and it cleans it well. What I found was that you need to scan a small batch at a time, upload to the PC, check the quality and, if there is streaking, clean the scanner.

Then do the next small batch of photos. When I fist got this scanner I did 400+ in one go, uploaded to PC and checked the quality. Its good but after the first 100 or so it started to show a white line going right across the picture in the same place on every photo.

It was like a bit of fluff had got onto the rollers. I cleaned it and that solved the problem but I had to rescan 300+ photos. After that I just did small scan sessions, say 10 – 50 photos at a time.

Quality also depends on the original photo. Dark photos didn’t scan so well. Generall though the quality is really good. You have two scan modes, 1200×300 and 300×300.

When I scanned a document to PDF, the image was faint and fuzzy. I adjusted the DPI (dots per inch) and the scan type (Black/White, Greyscale, Color). The resolution improved a little, but not much.

Great for the $!! You also get a carrying case, USB connection cord, cleaner cloth, and access to PaperPort which is a document management software program. Don’t forget to buy a micro SD card, which can also be used for other devices.

I had trouble making it scan, but a call to great customer service showed I was moving it too slowly. One other buyer explained about short battery life, so take batteries out when not in use. Great for photos, recipes, other important documents, things to bulky for a desktop printer scanner.

Many users are students who can access friends textbooks to save money. I am buying two more for Christmas and birthday gifts.

The scanner itself was something of a challenge figuring out the settings and all. However downloading the software was impossible. I have three computers in the house and finally got the site www. offeractivation.

com/paperport to download on one computer at 3:00 a. m. this morning but the program never really worked for me. Could not download it on either of the other computers and I needed it loaded on my main computer and the small computer I would take with me when I used at other places.

Very poor directions in the manual in my opinion. I tried to download what I had scanned. pictures and documents too. but that was too much of a challenge. I hope to be able to return it to Walmart within f few days but I will avoid ever using this company again.

This product exceeded my expectations right from the get-go. For the price ($99. 00 + whatever you pay for the not-included microSD card) I was pleasantly surprised. The unit uses standard AA alkaline batteries, which are included.

Also included is a USB cord for downloading images onto your computer, a functional slip-on flexible plastic carrying case for the scanner, and a CD containing a simple image-to-text conversion program that you install on your computer (more on that in a moment).

The instructions for the initial, one-time calibration of the scanner are simple and easy to follow. The short calibration process is necessary to “teach” the scanner what a solid white background looks like.

A slick, white piece of paper is included with the scanner kit for this purpose. As I stated at the beginning, you will need to purchase a microSD card. The scanner instructions will walk you through the initial formatting process for the card (also a one-time operation), which is done with the card installed in the scanner.

After you have formatted the card, calibrated the scanner, and installed the image-to-text software, you are ready to go. The scanner has a choice of two resolutions: 300 or 600 dpi, and two modes: color or b&w.

Operating the scanner is simple. The same button acts as an on/off switch, as well as tells the scanner when to start and stop the scanning process. A quick tap on the button tells the scanner that you are beginning or ending a scan, while holding the button down for about two seconds turns the scanner on or off.

Another rocker switch type button controls b&w/color selection, and 300/600 dpi selection. For scanning text that you want to be able to edit, 300 dpi is more than adequate. I would also set the scanner to b&w for that process.

Scanning the page of an ordinary book is a fairly speedy process. Experiment with how quickly you guide the scanner down the page. If the scanner detects that you are going too fast, a small red light will come on.

According to the instructions, you can scan an average printed page in about two seconds. The instructions also list approximate times for other images/material you may have occasion to scan. The image-to-text software program is fairly simple to use.

Basically, you download the scanned image to your computer via the included USB cable, then pull the image into a photo program or image viewer program. The image-to-text program gives you several options according to what type of text you are working with (i.

e. an entire web page or other large body of text, or just a selected area of the screen). Another choice is where you want the converted text to be sent to. You can choose any of these combinations: text, table, or image, to be sent to: Word, Excel or the clipboard.

The clarity of the original text you are scanning will greatly effect the accuracy of the image-to-text conversion process. I’ve found that for printing that has less than ideal image quality, pulling the image into a photo program first (I use Picasa3, a free download on the ‘net) and doctoring the image so that the background is as junk free as possible, and the text is as clear as possible, that I get better accuracy over just converting the raw image.

When scanning any type of image or text, only very slight pressure on the scanner is necessary for a successful scan. The scanner has four small rubber rollers on the bottom which will help you maintain a straight scan down the image.

Also keep in mind that you will need to move the scanner more slowly over pictures than you would if you were scanning a printed page. Again, experimenting will give you an idea of how fast you can go before the red light on the scanner says that you have broken the speed limit.

Hope this review has been helpful. If you are looking for a portable scanner, this one is the most versatile, in my opinion. You won’t regret the $$$ you spent.

This replaces a Flip Pal that got lost in our move to a new house. This one is a newer even better model. Weve looked for a new one for over a year and were so glad to find this one. Works great for our collodion wet plate pictures.

Does exactly as required. Plan to use it for a digital back on a 1950’s vintage 4×5 camera as seen in Instructables. com. Should be an interesting adventure and a low buck way to take large format pictures and automatically convert them to digital.

Quality won’t be tip-top but something to play with in PhotoShop later and slap on the wall.

This is actually my second purchase of a flip pal. The ability to lay it on top of a picture has been my favorite. No worries about taking an album apart to take a copy. No having to borrow an album and having to return it.

I bought the second version for its blue tooth capability. One of my best genealogical tools ever.

Once I decided to digitize my filing instead of getting more file cabinets at home (three is enough!), I I started looking for a good quality scanner that could help me quickly go through the mounds of paperwork.

The XEROX Documate 3220 looked like it would do all that PLUS help with odd-sized scanning and photos thanks to its flatbed scanner. The thing is, it did just that! It didn’t cost an arm-and-a-leg, and it’s great scan quality was pretty fast using the ADF.

With the software, I could easily set up the quicktouch buttons to scan directly to a folder. A designated simplex button and duplex button meant I wasn’t scanning unnecessary blank page-backs. The quality was consistently great, and all was well.

Two years later, though, I noticed that my images were getting cut off. About 3/4 inch of the left-side was coming out all-black. I tried all the steps: clean the glass, clean the ADF, reinstall, and finally call customer service.

To their credit, a real life Xerox person was on the phone with me in about 20 minutes and took a sample image to evaluate. Unfortunately, he said that the imaging head had gone bad, it was outside its one-year warranty, and there are no replaceable parts I can purchase separately.

He DID kindly offer me 20% off of the xerox. com website price for a new one, but that’s still more expensive than the newegg price! So, despite being fairly disappointed in it’s short life, I’m here to buy another one.

It’s really affordable, does a good job (while it lives!), and it’s already configured on my computer. Because of how great it performs, I have to recommend this to anyone that needs a home scanner, but you’ve got to know that it’s going to be scrap before you’re ready!.

This product functions and performs exactly as advertised, an unusual and welcome feat in these days of the most superlatives ever. For a novice with scanners the learning curve may be a bit of a sticky wicket but not unreasonable.

It is merely a matter of “the more features, the more to learn. ” I have used all the features with varied frequency and find them generally well-designed. The one exception (and this is a truly minor quibble) relates to the editing functions, and therefore probably is more a function of the software than of the scanner itself.

In my work (home / small business) I often need to remove from the scan small artifacts picked up by the scanner such as folds in letters or invoices, especially when the image of the crease falls directly across alphanumeric characters.

The enlargement function enables me to edit detail even as small as parts of single characters; however, to reach that level of enlargement, I must repeatedly press the enlargement key, a process that slows me down when I am working through a stack of documents.

A choice of enlargement ratio would be helpful (for example, 10, 25, 50, 75, 100 percent). In summary, of my three scanners the Xerox Documate routinely handles all my documents because of its speed, accuracy and ease of use.

American buyers are probably getting a better deal than UK ones. There is no doubt in my mind that these are quality components but using them/it out of the box was a pain. The lack of a simple overall set-up guide was definitely missed as it was unclear where to start – and I’ve had scanners for more than a decade, including the original Visioneer/Paperport “rolling-pin”.

The scanner itself is still a mystery, usually choosing the method of input that suits but periodically what it wants – or nothing at all! What is frustrating is that, when it is all working well, it’s mighty impressive, allowing the user to feed in separate sheets quickly or using the flatbed to handle awkward paper shapes and producing high quality scans.

I’ve no doubt that a spot of expert tuition would have me humming a merry tune as I zapped through a pile of work (which was never a possibility with my previous Canon scanners). If you are lucky enough to have a helpful dealer, this has real potential, but if (like my internet only dealer) they have “no technical section”, be prepared for reading three manuals to get the hang of it.

I have this same scanner on my office desk and use it every day and have been impressed at how easy it is to use, especially for setting up and scanning a whole stack of documents into a newly created folder, auto naming etc.

The quality is fantastic and it is fast as lightning. When we decided to spend the money on a scanner for home use, I really didn’t think I could find anything comparable in any affordable price range.

Took a chance on another scanner, a new one for about $275 and it was just plain awful. The color scans were dark and blotchy and no matter what I tried in the settings they were just awful. Obviously the color photo scanning was a big part of the decision to buy one so I boxed it back up and returned it for a refund.

I decided to look for the Kodak like I had at work and found several at prices all over the spectrum. You’re always taking a chance on someone else’s perspective on the product, but I got a good one and it works just as fantastic as the one I already am used to.

It was a breeze to set up and it works exactly like the other one. Photo scans are fantastic quality and the B&W PDF scans are fast and accurate. Makes it easy to set up a preset and a folder to image all your receipts and financial stuff.

I hate paper, well, storing paper mostly. I’ve spent my adult life trying to go paperless. This is a good item for that. Overall, I would highly recommend this scanner to anyone for just about any purpose.

It is a beast, and you can still get the refurbish roller kits for it. Should last for many more years.

Scans fast at 300 dpi!. I had to clean the glass over the scan windows couple of times with ROR optical lens cleaner to get perfectly clean. Had some kind of residue. Once windows were clean it scanned without any dust streaking.

Also I had to configure the settings in the Kodak software for single sided high res color photographs. The software works perfect in Windows 7 – pretty easy set-up.

I purchased this product to try and recreate a Target Photo Center Rapid Scanner at my home for the thousands of print photos that I and my family have. Unfortunately, the resolution of the color images is only 200 DPI.

Sadly, that doesn’t produce great photos for resolution if I need to print or share. Overall, its a good scanner, fast, reliable, just not of the quality that I had hoped.

While this scanner is compact in size, it is big on capability. For it to work its best, the software needed to use it is definitely recommended (at least from what we observed), although not necessarily required.

We did so because we do use it with the computer, of which software is required. The scanner setup was a bit more complicated than anticipated, as the only information that came with it is the basic setup for the device itself.

(You have to go online to find the user manual, but once we did, the rest of the setup wasn’t too bad, even for someone who isn’t an expert on technology. ) It comes in handy when scanning items to email to clients for contracts on jobs and to the supply company where materials are ordered.

Additionally, It’s nice that you can scan multiple pages at a time instead of feeding them into the scanner one at time. Also, it comes with the USB cord so it can be attached to your computer, but it also runs off Wi-Fi, which is useful when using another device, such as a cell phone, which we can use later to scan items into folders in the business files on the computer.

Because we don’t need it for scanning high quality photos, the quality of the scan was pretty much in line with what we needed to send to a PDF format, and the majority of the file go directly to email or the computer itself, which works out great for us.

There is an adjustable feeder tray so multiple sized documents can be scanned in and did so surprisingly fast. It also has a tab that extends up to catch the scanned items, so they don’t go everywhere once they come through the feeder.

This is a great product for business use and works great for our small business needs.

My Brother ADS-4900W Professional Desktop Scanner was a great addition to my peripheral devices and is now an essential component in my home office setup. This printer zips thru scanning multiple documents with a 100 page capacity feeder and blazing 60 page per minute.

I was quite surprised at how fast it scanned documents at high quality. It even handles stacks of paper with various sizes and weights with ease. The 4. 3” color touchscreen display is super bright, easy to read, easy to use, and conveniently place right in the front middle of the scanner.

Wireless setup was a breeze and connecting to it wirelessly was just as easy. In fact, I didn’t even need the instruction manual to go from manual setup to wireless printing. It literally took a few minutes and I was done.

Furthermore, I was able to setup the scanner to scan to my applications Google Drive™ and to my email. The OCR feature is most impressive and the software the come with it allows you to scan to searchable PDF’s.

This is the product I never thought I needed and I’m so very impressed with it.

Brother truly covered all bases with the ADS-4900W’s design and it can be integrated into absolutely any workflow system easily. The quality of the scans is also quite remarkable. When I use the ADS-4900W I wonder where it has been all my life – it is a valued time saver and huge quality enhancement to my work, and I am certainly not alone!.
