20 Best Scanner For Medical Office (2023 Updated)

Makes scanning multiple pages quick and easy! I have multi-page sales contracts for my personal business and needed something fast to scan and collate all of the pages into a pdf document to save. I can scan a 4 page document in less than one minute.

It’s lightweight, portable and uses a standard usb plug. I had to go to the Epson website to download the driver and install the product on my computer but it’s very simple and instructions came with the product.

The only downside is you have to do each page at a time (you can’t stack and have it pull each page as it scans) but for the price and scanning quality, it’s worth the manual feeding.

This review is on the installation of the software drivers for wifi setup and not on the scanner it self. I have only had the scanner for one day and it scans great. You need to try several times as you will et black edges if the paper is not aligned perfect.

But scanner so far after 1st use is 4 stars overall, speed 5 stars, and quality 5 stars. If connected by usb the scanner goes immediately, if connected by wifi it takes a little to connect but scans the paper fast once it starts.

I kept getting an error that read cannot launch the software uninstall the software and reinstall the software. I had to change my computers wifi to 2. 4GHz and I still received this error. When you uninstall the software you need to install uninstall 4 or 5 separate Epson software packages.

After 5 or 6 attempts I did not uninstall the software and tried several different things and finally the software installed and launched. It should not be that hard to install software.

This sounds like it would be a great product–if it actually worked and didn’t waste an enormous amount of time trying to trouble-shoot every single step of the nominally simple set-up process. Bottom line: It never worked.

No step of the process worked as advertised. The setup instructions are very skimpy. What actually happens is NOT what the instructions say. There is no information in those instructions for troubleshooting when it does not behave as promised.

This was an enormous time-suck trying to figure out why “Device was not migrated. ” I repeatedly uninstalled and reinstalled drivers, downloaded software updates, systems patches, you name it. The battery never fully charges–no matter how long you charge it.

The document feed doesn’t work. And it has a spring-loaded intermittent ON/OFF switch that only works while you hold the slider switch to the right. This product is a nightmare.

It is so flipping hard to keep dust out of this thing!!! I keep a lot of stuff in my gear bag and it is my fault that it gets sandy in there… but sheesh! The included cleaning sheet doesn’t cover it, so I use a mini brush from my grooming kit to clean the scan head.

600DPI is def the sweet spot for my uses. I got this to avoid Newton rings while scanning Polaroids, which works perfectly! Wireless caps at 400DPI which is slightly too blurry even for a low-quality Polaroid capture.

Not just any ol’ Micro-USB cable will worth with this. I have to pack a specific, thinner profile Micro cable just for this device. For the price, all in all, these are minor complaints. I press scan, and it scans.

It detects my Polaroids well 80% of the time but some of that is user error. Despite this being portable you need to give it space to work if you don’t want your documents to jam. Pretty obvious but I didn’t consider before I bought.

Lastly it’s a 4 star device but I’m removing a star for the app… dude… it needs updated badly!.

My husband questioned why we needed a scanner when we had one in our printer. After explaining how quick this machine works and that it connects to Google Drive he was understanding but still did not completely understand.

Now that it is setup he thinks it is the greatest thing for our 2 businesses. He loves that it scans quick into a file on Google drive and he is able to attach it to an email in seconds. He says he will never go back to the scanner on the printer and that takes way too long.

This is great for small businesses that have a lot of paper and need to get in online quick or even to stay organized without saving all the paper. Would recommend this to everyone. totally worth the money.

As an educational professional, I have accumulated a mass amount of paper originals that I use in the classroom. I have binders upon binders of lessons. I have been wanting a better way to organize and store these papers.

The Raven Pro Two-Sided Scanner has helped me start this process. The Raven Pro Scanner is wireless, copies two sided sheets, (which is amazing) and takes about ten or so minutes to set up. I was worried that the scanner would be cumbersome and take up valuable work space, but it proved me wrong.

The scanner is not much bigger than a regular desktop printer. Besides using the scanner for my professional use, I plan on also tackling my important documents at home. Lord knows that this is another aspect that needs organized.

I’m a long time ScanSnap user, as I bought an s1500m for my Mac 5 or 6 years ago to handle all my document and receipt scanning needs. Recently, I started having strange glitches where I’d get lines through pages and smaller receipts scanning in as solid black boxes.

Turns out, Fujitsu no longer supports OS X Mojave with my trusty s1500m — and they’re forcing me to upgrade. Not wanting to pay $400+ like I did for the first ScanSnap, I decided to go with this s1300i as a cheaper alternative that still has current Max OS X support.

I’ve only had a day to use it so far, but already, I’m noticing that the old s1500m had a FAR superior document feeder. Because this s1300i tries to be so small and portable, it sacrifices having taller paper guides.

So items like long receipts with some creases in them tend to feed in at an angle, as they “jump” one of the guides while scanning in. My s1500m was also scanning my receipts in much more quickly than this one does.

But I’m still unsure if some of that is just due to differences in software settings? On the plus side? The new “ScanSnap Home” software with this unit is superior to what my old scanner had. This one actually provides an application that can serve as a functional document management system, as well as a control panel for scanner settings and preferences.

Fujitsu also includes cloud-based storage of your scanned documents (limited to one installation of the software and one user), if you create the free account and connect it to ScanSnap Home. I’ve used the third party Mariner Paperless product for years as my document management system on my Mac, and it integrated really well with the s1500m.

I’m having some issues configuring this new scanner to do the same. It seems like all scans still go into ScanSnap Home instead of directly into Paperless. But again, I may just try using ScanSnap Home moving forward and keep Paperless for viewing the older data.

All in all? I’d have to say your average Windows user can save a lot of money by just buying a Brother or Epson document scanner. (Micro Center had some at less than half the price of this one. ) I’ve used the Brothers in our office and they do a great job.

I really only stuck with Fujitsu because they’ve traditionally had superior Mac support. Fujitsu is the only one who uses a proprietary protocol for communication between the scanner and computer, vs using generic TWAIN or ISIS drivers.

That’s supposed to give them some advantages with software flexibility and control, especially on the Mac side of things.

I have a Fujitsu ScanSnap iX500 in my office that I’ve been using for about 8 months now and I’ve loved it. I wanted something a little more compact to use at home that had a multiple sheet feeder, so the first brand I considered was Fujitsu.

I came across the S1300i and it seemed to fit the bill. THE PROS: It’s smaller than the iX500 and, while having a sheet feeder and being Mac compatible (i. e. I use PCs (hate!) and Macs (love!) but at home I use only Macs so Mac compatibility was important.

This unit is very easy to set up, and uses the great Fujitsu software suite of programs that I was familiar with from using the iX500. The scanning speed is a little slow, probably about 1/2 the speed of the iX500, but a fair trade off for the portability.

The biggest problem with the unit is that the sheet feeder is crap, thus I only give it two stars. If I put perfectly smooth, letter sized paper in the chute, it is constantly feeding 2-3 sheets at a time, getting stuck, and causing me to have to open the unit, remove the paper and rescan.

I am very disappointed with the poor sheet feeding capability, as the iX500 was relatively flawless in it’s feeding sheets through the scanner, but this unit is horrible. You can save directly to a dropbox or other cloud account or to your iPhone or Android phone.

THE CONS: The speed is a con if you want something that is really robust I’d consider the iX500 if you don’t mind a little more heft. The S1300i isn’t as good at catching when multiple pages get fed through together.

I have noticed a few times two pages went through and the unit didn’t notice. The iX500 always catches it when that happens. The sheet feeder can probably handle about 15 pages (even though it says 10) at a time, which is a con given the relatively slower scanning speed compared to the iX500, but for me it’s a fair trade off to get the more compact form factor.

I purchased one of these a few years ago and just loved it. A few weeks ago I had finally wore it out and wanted another one just like it. Found this one on Wal Mart’s website for less money than anyone else.

Ordered it and in a week it was here. Hooked it up and loaded on both my Mac and Windows machines. I had used the old one on WIndows machines only as I did not have a Mac at the time. I found that the Mac OS is by far the easiest way to scan and save or do whatever you want to do with your scans.

One difference I noticed in this scanner versus the old one is that this one has a power adapter that you plug into the wall where as the old one used USB power only to operate the scanner. I used to have occasional problems with the old one and always believed it was caused by low power going into the scanner from the USB port.

This new one does not have that issue at all. In 3-5 you have a scan ready to do whatever you want to do with it. If you are looking for an excellent scanner with 2 sided scanning capability in one pass, then you can’t go wrong with this scanner.

It is a great product and getting it through Wal Mart you get it at the best price anywhere. The delivery service was perfect too, just as all of my Wal Mart online purchase deliveries have been. Get this machine and get it at Wal Mart.

We intended to use this only as a document scanner, but found that it can also be used to send faxes and documents much smoother than our actual scanner/copier/fax machine. As far as scanning documents, the device is quick and relatively quiet (not any louder than a standard all-in-one printer device).

It pulls the documents through at a reasonably good speed. We used the software a bit and it seems easy enough to install and use. It has some nice features like color correcting on receipts that may not show up as dark as needed, etc.

We had a smaller pill cylinder shaped scanner before but found that one too clunky to use for a lot of documents at once. We also did not have much success with our flatbed scanner as it took too long to swap out pages, especially when they were double-sided.

This scanner fixes all those issues. It is larger and bulkier than the small scanner, but less bulky that our all-in-one with the flatbed scanner. If you have the space for it, and have a lot of documents to scan, this works great and is much faster than the other options.

The software makes it super easy to archive and organize documents. It will take time to work through a backlog of documents we want to save, but this seems to be the best tool we could have chosen for the job and we highly recommend it over the more compact versions or the larger all-in-one machines.

Lets start with the obvious that Ive seen in a few reviews here. This is a portable scanner, its designed to be light, small and easy to use and it meets all of these but with this you are bound to see a compromise and this comes in the guise of scan quality and alignment.

These arent negative points and Ill explain below. This is not a flatbed scanner and as such wont be as good and wont scan quite as well, but its not meant to, its a mobile deviceScan Quality The default setting for most of the document types this scanner is aimed at is great, you can adjust the setting to a higher DPI and therefore better scan but this does 2 things, 1 reduces some of the auto features like deskew and 2 slows the scan time slightly.

Alignment You can get it almost spot on with a little patience, but for 99 of the time making sure the alignment guide is in the right setting for your document means your scan will be almost straight.

And in all fairness after many years of flatbed scanners and high end document feeder scanners its no worse than most of those. As with any device, if you take your time you get better results. Im using the Brother software designed for the Mac from the Mac App Store Im running it on Big Sur with no issues and the drivers from the Brother site everything works perfectly with no issues.

But as with everything there is a little bit of learning and once youve set things up itll work very well for you. Workflow scanning Ive set up 2 workflows, one for PDFs and one for JPGs, Ive set the scan location, filename settings etc.

Works like a treat, single page PDF or a JPG is just a single click. Multipage scanning Ive seen a couple of people mention this is difficult and hard to do, well actually its not, its really simple.

Open the iPrintampScan app and hit the scan button not any of the workflows you may have setup and scan the first sheet, youll see a button on the screen that says Add Page click this, scan your next page and repeat.

You then select the save location, document type, filename and folder and you have a multipage scanned document. Its neat, its small, it takes up very little room and it works very well.
