This is definitely a mid level scanner. I am still learning how to use the functions but overall it does what it is intended to do which is read trouble codes, give descriptions of the code, and clear the code.

Its touch screen too. Also there is a function that takes you to the internet where you can google the code and play a video on youtube. Which I find pretty amazing. My snap on scanner doesn’t even do that.

Plus the price of this scanner is very affordable for what you get compare to my outdated snap on scanner. Also there is free updates you can install. When you unbox the item it comes with the obd2 connector cable, the scanner itself, a carrying case and also the charger cable.

Instructions aswell. The scanner is charged and it is portable unlike most entry level scanners you need to connect to the cars obd2 port for it to turn on. When you plug this scanner to a car, it automatically VIN codes the vehicle which means it pulls up the car specs automatically for you instead of finding the year, make, model and engine size with a higher end scanner.

This has live data stream and freeze frame functions. It also has some capabilities to reset oil life, and tpms for certain type and year of a car. Not all but some. It also have some capability to do electronic parking brake systems when you have a car that has a motorized caliper for the rear braking system.

This scanner also has some updates that are paid when you click on the mail icon button. I havent purchased it but may come in handy if you need that special function. But why buy it? When you have the capability to go online when you click on the help button to diagnose the code.

I wish they had a button for the internet which would be more convenient. This runs on a wifi system. So you do need to have access to wifi for the internet function. Overall a nice compact portable scanner that does more than a standard scanner.

Affordable, has cool features, free updates, touch screen, wifi, good enough battery life, has a charging port. Has a built in protective case in case of drops. Also the brand name is launch which is a great trusted company.

Before writing my review I wanted to take the time to use my CRP129x in a lot of situations. This device has exceeded my expectations! I currently work in sales for an automotive dealership. Although I don’t work on the service side, this tool has help immensely when I appraise a trade-in.

Within minutes I am able to review a complete system report of that particular vehicle. The Launch software integrates beautifully with almost every make and model, it operates quickly, and the interface is extremely easy to navigate.

I have used my scan tool on my vehicles at home, I have used it at my job, and I have even assisted friends/family. The CRP129x is the best tool available at this price point based on all of the tools I have used or researched.

I always excited about a new tool. The Launch pro 3 s plus is very good tool, great speed to scan a complete car. I dont consider your average dyi scanner. This has become our number one scanner, love to save prescan and proscan.

Just too name a few options of the capability of the tool, such as abs programming on certain makes, tpms sensor, steering angle sensor calibration and probably more options that will find as we use the tool.

Not bad at all for the price and will not be afraid to say that does everyting or more than scanners 4 times its price. ;.

Really nice product. I much prefer this to all the phone apps I have used with the fiddly / flakey wi-fi/Bluetooth dongles. The ANCEL website has frequent updates for their scan tools, and so this is an awesome bonus in this age of throw-away electronics.

I have already updated my AD410 from the website download. Just connect it to a Windows 10 PC via USB and run the updater file. Very easy. The color display is easy to read, although the text on some screens is a little small.

The unit gives nice summary of engine codes and what they mean, so no need to look them up. It clears codes and engine check lights. Nice. Although if you don’t fix the problem, of course the check light will come back again after 2x instances of the fault are detected.

The only downside of this device is the navigation is not intuitive, meaning there are what appear to be up/down/left/right buttons, and when navigating, that’s not how it works. You need to read the text on the buttons and keep pressing the relative ones.

Easy to learn.

Works great-super easy to install. I like it because it’s stainless steel with a long flexible hose. I prefer it over the plastic ones that are installed under the seat. It’s also better because it has multiple uses.

I would definitely recommend this to everyone. It will save me over $80. 00 per year in toilet paper. Well worth the money, I feel cleaner using this sprayer than when I was using toilet paper.

This is my third attempt to get a scan tool that works. I had purchased two other units from different sellers, The first one, a stand-alone unit, would not even recognize my vehicle (2001 Chrysler Town & Country).

The second one needed a computer to work with and only some of the advertised functions worked. I had, nearly, given up on getting a scan tool. Then, I bought this one and, honestly, my expectations were not high! This unit immediately recognized and connected to my vehicle, read all the codes, and allowed me to reset the MIL.

It has many more features than I expected and I am completely pleased with my purchase. I would recommend this unit to a friend!.

The OBDLinks MX+ is the best OBD reader/writer I have owned (this is the 5th I have had in the past 10 years) Certainly the Bluetooth transfer speeds are fast enough to handle the most complex testing.

My current use is with AlphaOBD software on Jeep Grand Cherokee WK2 vehicles. Whether pair with a security bypass cable on 2018+ or direct in on 2014-2017 all the critical functions are able to be programmed.

From clearing codes, diagnosing errors, customising user settings, fixing suspension levels, charging tire dimensions, fixing Speedo errorsetc etc the OBDLink MX+ never misses a beat. Throughly recommended product.

Are their cheaper ELM chipset devices? YES Can they handle the speed and do all the same functions? NO PAY ONCE use always. just get it and you will never worry again about those expensive trips to the dealer to clear a simple code, caused by a low battery level.

Stick on the side of the road late at night in limp mode? Plug this in and clear the error and get home safely. (reliant on how catastrophic the fault is).

Bought it for removing the service spanner light on my mates Triumph motorcycle. It did exactly that and a little more with the use of Tune Ecu. I have also used it on dozens of cars now and found it worked on all of them and simply just did what it claimed to do.

I have a G-Scan ,G-Scan-2, and a Carman VG plus as well as a whole swag of hand held scanners and dongles and software’s and found the OBDLink MX+ to do most minor jobs and so keep it handy at all times and is now my go to device.

It will never replace my main machines but now use it extensively simply for the convenience. I have no doubt it will work great for thousands of other vehicles with the appropriate software and supporting hardware.

My only issue is the cost of this device as there is no more than a few dollars worth of components inside just like hundreds of other similar devices with only the difference that this one does actually work and works very well.

This one is a keeper and I would have no problems replacing it if lost or left in a car. I give this device top marks for build quality, reliability and compatibility.

What a fantastic device! Easily read data in use by your cars OBD2 system. It goes WAY beyond displaying any DTC’s thrown by the computers. This baby displays selectable real time component data on a graph page so you can view up to 4 simultaneous live performance tracks on a virtual “scope”, and record/save the images on your smartphone.

Pick any sensor or valve in the OBD2 system and assign it to its own dashboard gauge display; completely design and modify the gauge look. The GPS tracking feature illustrates your coarse on a map with your car performance tracked in colored highlights.

This simple Bluetooth device is incredibly powerful. One caution: for use by the conscientious operator only – there are so many tempting real-time displays available, be safe and use it only as a passenger, or in a fully parked vehicle.

I bought this scanner to replace my handheld MaxiCheck because I wanted full live data capabilities. As a bonus, it has MANY other service features and bluetooth connectivity. So far I have been very happy with it and I would recommend it to anyone looking for an OBDII scanner with full live data and common service functions.

This is a well known problem with Amazon video reviews. Maybe one day the worlds largest on-line retailer will fix their website so modern video reolutions can be used. lol.

I started at 3 stars, but went with 4. I must say the MK808 is a very good scanner. It’s just as good and does all the same things my 2010 MACTools Taskmaster scanner and that scanner covers every model 2010 prior back to 1987 with all the connectors including giving common repair fixes for each trouble code.

Has a very nice size and very useable interface. Comes with an OBDII cord probably 4 to 5 feet long. Didn’t measure it. Very nice solid plastic case and manual. Actually a pretty decent manual. As advertised, it does pickup the VIN number automaticly and it has a great many tasks covered under such as TPMS and another 10 to 12 major tasks.

It picked my 2002 and 2010 Ford F150 and F350 as advertised. Again just as good as my Taskmaster. It also, after I input the VIN, recognized my 1999 Ram 3500 diesel. It wouldn’t pick up the VIN automaticly.

Haven’t tried my 2000 Nissan Frontier and I know it won’t read my 1991 Ford Ranger. Doesn’t come with the cables to read OBD1 and prior. I even printed the report wirelessly from it to my inkjet printer.

I didn’t try resetting the oil change light since it’s not time for it yet. I found it also had current fixes for most trouble codes just as my Taskmaster which is extremely handy. The one thing I found issues with was discovering not every vehicle model is included in all tasks.

For example, TPMS. As advertised, it’s in there. Unfortunately, not for my 2010 Ford F350 gas engine. It’s in there for the diesel version. Haven’t tried my F150. My 1999 Ram 3500 diesel isn’t covered in all tasks either.

Just the main diagnostics and a few there aren’t covered, but it’s also 22 years old. I had to buy a MaxiTPMS TS401 to activate and test the TPMS sensors because the MK808, as mentioned, didn’t cover my F350.

Even with buying the MK808 and the TS401, the total didn’t come close to the $1500 I paid for the Taskmaster brand new in 2010. Nowadays the MAC and Snap-On scanners are well north of $6000. Unfortunately, you won’t know if your vehicle model isn’t covered by any task until you plug it in.

For the average around home mechanic, it’s a great tool at a great price. Keep in mind, your updates are only free the first year. I haven’t gotten where I’ve had to pay for updates yet so I don’t know the pricing.

However, you may not need the updates if little changes.

Its a fairly good scanner but it cost too much to upgrade the software annually, which is ridiculous. Nobody who buy this tool will be working on all the vehicles it can use on so the software should be able to be upgrade in sections, for e.

g. European , North America, Asian & so on. Why should the manufacturer force us to pay to upgrade vehicles that we are not going to repair ? Thats dishonest.

The mk808 is an awesome machine! we use the higher end autel systems in the shop, but i do a large amount of side work at home. These days you pretty much need a scanner for everything. The mk808 is a great option for home mechanics or anyone that just wants to be able to fix their own car, and for everything it has to offer this product is well worth the money.

For background information- I am an automotive technician with 17 years in the field, 12 at an independent shop and 5 at a Ford dealership, and I am certified Ford Senior Master Technician. Our dealership has one IDS, and I have been using Forscan to do the majority of my diag.

It’s kind of a pain to take the laptop to the vehicle, do my diag, then return to my box and type up the repair orders. I’m also the only tech at my dealership who has experience with non Ford vehicles, so I get all the non FoMoCo work.

I had been looking for a scan tool for a while, and stumbled on this Launch. I used the funds from 2021 Top Techs program to purchase the scan tool. I ordered it on a sunday, around 10:30pm. The package arrived Tuesday at lunch.

For reference, I live in far southwest Texas, and I NEVER get packages this quick with prime. SUPER satisfied with the shipping. The scantool and it’s attachments are in a blow molded case, which is in a box, which was in another box, packaging was more than adequate.

The VCI mounts into the casing itself, and securely locks in. I excitedly powered up the scantool, grabbed the serial sheet and registered the product. Lo and behold, there were tons of updates. I selected update all, and it took roughly an hour over WiFi.

After it was done, I set out to use it on a vehicle I had already diagnosed- a 2019 superduty. IDS flagged cylinder 4 as a concern with power balance at -20%, and relative compression at -14%. The X431 immediately showed cylinder 4 as an issue with power balance, and matched the IDS measurement of -14% on relative compression.

Sweet. Next I diagnosed a forced idle superduty- the X431 performed a visual leak test on the SCR system and verified no reductant pressure. With no circuit dtcs, I verified power and ground at the reductant pump before tossing one in, and using the X431 to perform a manual regen.

It performed flawlessly. Up next was a GMC Acadia with airbag warnings on. The X431 scanned all systems and pulled up passenger pretensioner as an issue. Data logger for the supplemental restraint was excellent- I could monitor component resistances in real time, and the passenger pretensioner circuit was showing 11.

4 ohms. Wiggling wires at connectors while monitoring the scantool showed I had a pin fit concern in the connector under the seat, which was easily fixed. I used it on about 20 other vehicles in the first week, and each time it performed perfectly.

I even used it to do a PMI on an electric steering rack for a Fusion, and perform a clutch adaptive relearn on a focus. The only issue I had, which wasn’t the scan tools fault, was on a 2019 ram. I had to create an AutoAuth account to access the Ram’s secured gateway module, but after doing so I could perform a regen after having the dodge dealership reflash the pcm.

The scantool let’s you save and print reports, which is nice for showing customers what I retrieved from the vehicle. Battery life is excellent- I haven’t had it go below 70% during any of my times using it.

I am super, SUPER happy with this scantool. For $1,300 it’s a hell of a deal. Worth mentioning- it occasionally goes on sale for $999, so be on the look out. The only gripe I can have about it is the TPMS tool that came with it- it only works for GM.

Absolutely will NOT work on fords or dodges… I have no idea why, since they’re the same frequencies, but it is what it is. I’m sorry for the long review, Iv been waiting 3 2 weeks before writing it because I wanted to be as thorough as necessary.

While it doesn’t replace IDS for programming, it’s Ford, GM, Dodge, Toyota and Subaru coverages are absolutely awesome. You can bet your ass I’ll update if anything changes, but as of now I’d give it 10 stars if I could;.

I bought this to work on my cars and some others. I have an 04 Expedition that I have used other code readers on. But even after repairs were done and codes supposedly cleared the truck still would not act right.

I hooked the launch up to it one time and all codes were in fact cleared, the truck runs like it is supposed to. One reason I bought this machine is, I have a 2019 ram 1500 Limited that I was going through the process of the lemon law.

I wanted to know the truth about what was going on with my truck. Dodge / Ram has a tendency to not be able to duplicate problems when you take a vehicle in for service. Because the company does not want to pay the mechanics for proper diagnostics.

So in turn you don’t always get your vehicle fixed. Yes, this unit comes with a price but so does peace of mind. Knowing all the codes are properly cleared after repairs and the car runs properly is peace of mind.

This is a device needed for all toolboxes if you work on any cars. I would recommend it to others as well. ;.

I’ve been an auto mechanic for 35 years. I got tired of the shop tools being unavailable or out dated so I did some research and pulled the trigger on this. So far it’s everything I’ve needed and more! Other guys I work with are using the Autel scanner from the tool truck and if you ask me they got BONED! $1600? No thanks.

I get a 5 year warranty and 2 years of updates. If your thinking about what to buy I did the research already. Jump on this if you want a decent tool that does pretty much everything you need for daily use in a busy shop.

I haven’t ran into anything it can’t do yet plus the guys that have the $1600 Autel are like WTF!;.

Pretty great value for the money. I bought this vehicle that was plagued with problems (definite lemon) and this little device kept me informed of what was malfunctioning. Mostly I wanted to know the codes the car was throwing, but this thing has other features I haven’t really fleshed out.

I just keep it in the glove box (it’s pretty small) and pop it in when the check engine light comes on. Pretty handy and cost effective tool.

LAUNCH CR3001 Eventually discovered this unit is not compatible with my 2009 Chev. Silverado ABS/SRS modules. Not many are from what I have found. Works fine for check engine codes, ODB commands, etc.

but not airbag/ABS. Manual provided seemed generic and did not match specific as it said unit. Standard OBD2 Protocols from 1996 to now.

it’s really nice and well designed code scanner, worthy the money! all basic feature are included and some new features such as capture screen and battery test, those are very useful functions, what impress me a lot is the hand feeling of this tool, very comfortable when you holding in hand.

I have been testing this unit daily for the past couple of weeks servicing many makes and models. The loading time is impressive and faster than other scanners that Ive used. This makes it perfect doing quick scans before service.

It does have some live data features and will display battery voltage. This is something that I wouldnt expected at this price point. This is a great basic scan tool. It has become my go-to when I need to pull codes quickly.

Im sure this is the best car obd2 tool in my toolbox!.

Foxwell claimed they sent me an updated version which is NT530, scanner arrived and has no marking on its case that it is NT530. I have a 2009 mini cooper S and reason Ibought is I changed my vanos solenoid, that function is missing and also it cannot activate my purge valve solenoid to check.

A lot of their functions they claimed is not on my software they sent. Very disappointed. I have explored it countless times & couldnt reset adaptation on my new vanos solenoid.

Great tool for clearing a troublesome check engine light ( slow fuel evaporation leak) about 1 time a month on average but I can’t stand seeing the light saying check engine. Also it picked up a brake problem that I had,and found I had very little shoe left on rear.

My 05 F150 had the check engine light come on so I made a stop at Autozone. They check it with their scanner and found three codes. After that I decided to buy my own scanner for another vehicle that also had a check engine light.

After fixing it I decided to recheck the codes that Autozone found and when I did, it found another code that their scanner overlooked. I cant believe it works better than the one they use and sell over the counter.

I highly recommend it.

Quick review my first scanner, do not take my review serious but if you are a first time scanner user as well. this scanner will suit your needs. pros: easy to use, tells you what you need to know + additional info, handy and lightweight cons: small screen, will only tell you what you need compared to other expensive product’s, wired, navigating menu.

Was looking for a scan tool that was capable of pulling codes from all modules, perform function test, and special functions. Didnt want to spend $3000 plus on a Snap on or autell. Found this, was sceptical but for $370 I was willing to try it out.

Quality is amazing, beefy tablet with a nice carrying case. Took a while to charge but other than that started up fine. FREE updates, which is amazing in it self. Have used it multiple times on multiple vehicle types.

Reset a service light on an Audi, scan and read live data on Lexus HVAC mode door actuators, and cleared ABS codes on a BMW. Great little scanner for an independent shop of a DIY car guy that works on all his friends and families stuff.

It did what I needed. I knew the code that my car threw and had completed the repair. All I needed was a way to clear the code and make sure I had actually made the needed repair. I could not find a way to clear only the one code, but with this tool I had to clear everything including the ready codes for the emisions.

That meant I needed to drive a couple of days before I could be sure the code did not return and that the status reset to ready. Perhaps no tool will clear a single code, so I did not rate this down because of the limitation I mentioned.

After clearing everything, the car will not pass inspection until the car’s computer resets everything. Plugging the car back into this after a couple of days allowed me to check to see if the status was “ready” and that no bad codes existed.

Confirmed the repair was correct and now the tool is in the tool bin waiting for next time.

Great price, easy to use and looks good. I use to borrow friends scanners all the time but not no more. The Konnwei OBD2 KW808 is my first scanner and love it. Makes all the trouble shooting go away.

Feels good in my hands, the screen lights up nice and bright and even easy to read on a sunny day. I really like that. The cord is a good 5feet long and feels nice and thick. I truly recommend the Konnwei OBD2 KW808 scanner is a wonderful tool to have.

I must’ve spent a good week reaching on a good affordable scanner and as you know theres all kinds out there. Some very expensive ones and some with bad reviews. This one seemed like a good start off.

And now that i own it its been very good to me. Thank you.

I was a little skeptical at first when I saw all the typos in the pictures and description of the item, but once this thing arrived I saw that it works fantastically well. I’m a master tech for Toyota and I wanted something I could use to clear codes quickly when the shop scan tool wasn’t handy and I also wanted something that would help me out in driveways when I’m trying to fix up a friends ride on the side.

It connects quick, processes data fast, data list parameters are good and accurate with a quick refresh rate. The 02 sensor test the tool is supposed to do did not work and the 2012 Toyota Sienna I tried to activate it on but I can read the data without a graph to figure out if the sensor is bad or the cat.

It also lets you trim down to a custom data list if you want. Awesome tool for the price. Can’t do better than this.

I have used the professional type of scanners (Snap-On, OTC etc. ) and was not sure what to expect out of this one. My OTC is older and out of date but would cost to much to update and where I don’t do automotive mechanics full time anymore I just didn’t want to spend that kind of money on a top of the line scanner.

I have had this Bosch 1350 hooked up to a couple different cars since I received it and it seems to do the job. No it’s not a top line scanner but it gives you the basic information to help point you in the right direction.

For me it seems a little slow and I’m not real crazy about the operating system format. But I really liked my old OTC Genesis and it just doesn’t compare to it in my opinion. Bottom line though is it does the job it was intended to do and for the money it’s not a bad deal.

The amount of real-time data you can view in every car is astounding. Better than snap-on in some cases. Code connect is super cool, wnt do your job for you but is sill a neat function. Also has a complete auto acronym database.

Easy pain free auto id, printer capable, useful data for view while unplugged from obd port. The cable is long too, maybe 8ft, which was a great feature for me. Amazing tool.

Perfect, that’s all I have to say. It was NEW, It came with everything mentioned, and works FANTASTIC. This product would be a hidden gem if it only came with a case to put it in but, I found a substitute that works great.

This unit helped me find a major issue on my car and after I replaced that part, No more check engine light and WOW the increased horse power my car now has. I just started seeing my gas mileage increase too.

Buying this tool has already paid for itself.

This “Pro” model give me access to most modules and systems on almost all vehicle. It will let you see readouts from most sensors, etc. Give you details about most codes also. I had one like this for Saab and Volvo which I really liked.

It let me work on my XC90 which most scanners will not do much with. I sold the Volvo with the scanner. So I purchased the Pro model so I can use it on other cars. This scanner is good enough for most technicians to use in repair shops.

It will reset most reminders like oil change, etc.

Great DIY’er scan tool. I able to used this for my Nissan X-trail T30 to diagnose engine crank but no start. It helps me a lot to bring down all possible causes by checking the performance of each components e.

g. battery voltage, engine timing, fuel relay, CAN status and many more. I will recommend this product to those who love doing DIY projects.

Once you begin to learn how to operate the CR Pro its mysteries unfold. It is very good at identifying the cause of a problem whilst it does not necessarily overcome some manufacturers code erase security it does identify the original problem and save the needless waste of time trying to check all the ther possible causes.

I use this scanner on 4 different vehicles. I will go through each vehicle. 1. 1994 Pontiac Grand Am – All this reader is good for is reading engine codes. I cannot see engine parameters and I cannot diagnose ABS and airbags.

2. 2001 BMX X5 ( The main vehicle I bought this scanner for). – It is a pain to use because the scanner constantly requests cycling the key and trying reconnection. AKA the scanner constantly losses communication with the vehicle.

I know there are more devices in this vehicle a scanner should be able to ready but this scanner will not read them. It has helped me diagnose a bad MAF sensor, vacuum leaks, and Purge solenoid. 3. 2003 Chevy Astro – The scanner works really well with this vehicle.

I haven’t needed to do much trouble shooting on this vehicle. 4. 2008 Ford Taurus – I did a quick scan on this vehicle but couldn’t do much because the engine is blown. So I couldn’t do much testing.

I will update more on this scanner as I use it.

The CP9690 helped me to diagnose my car quickly. I had a problem for 8 yes. and couldn’t figure it out. Code-connect told me what the problem was. It fixed it. Graphing shows oxygen sensor operation.

You can see them working. It has live test to show readings like the coolant temperature sensor. It can turn off the check engine light. It stores results for later viewing. It uses 4 aaa batteries under the rear cover.

Get a car charger for a Tom Tom One GPS to view results without using the batteries. Get a wall-outlet cable for a Tom Tom One to view results in your house. It’s well worth the money!.

I bought this to try to pull live data out of my 86 Bronco (OBD-I) and to run more robust tests. It wasn’t able to read any live data (no surprise but worth a shot) and the tests it did were standard tests that can be done with a paperclip and a DVOM.

That said, it’s a very, very nice scanner and according to the manual has many functions that just don’t work on my truck. They claim that it would work, but I suppose they can’t cover every single use case in one Home Essentials Direct ad.

Buttons are large and solid, screen is bright and nice quality, included all adapters needed even for Ford EEC IV, and 12v car power. I could see this scanner being very useful for newer cars, and may end up buying it again if needed in the future.

In the meantime, though, I returned it as it doesn’t address my current need.

Purchasing some of the cheaper BLUE translucent models of Bluetooth scanner adapters proved to be a waste of money and time. While they ‘May’ technically have the various protocols as outlined in their respective listings, does not mean they work in all cases.

Many of these budget adapters are inexpensive clones, that don’t have all that is required, to communicate with ‘some’ of the onboard PCMs. This adapter, even though it is pre-owned, is of very good quality and so far, has worked on the various vehicles I’ve connected it to.

Specifically, the BLUE translucent model mentioned earlier, would not communicate with my 1997 Explorer, nor my 2000 Windstar. Connecting this Tested device, even though used and refurbished, works Great EVERY time.

It is worth the money to spend a couple of dollars more and have something that is reliable, than to goof around with something that may or may not work, just to save $10. Big Deal!!! Spend the extra and save the headaches.

This scan tool has connected to every OBD2 car, truck and van I have tried it on. Probably 50 vehicles or more, both domestic and imports. Much more automatic than more specialized (and expensive) code scanners.

No need to select year, make, or model. The device simply begins flashing lights once connected and figures out what the vehicle is on its own. Once the lights start flashing like crazy, it has found the specific protocol and moves onto working like it should.

Connecting to a phone or PC is easy as well: it pairs up just like any other bluetooth device. After pairing up the first time, both my android phone and laptop remember the PIN and automatically connect thereafter.

Besides reading and clearing codes, the device also reads live data while the car is operating. Different cars provide more or less raw data, depending on how the ECM in the car is set up, but every car I have troubleshot with this tool has given me oxygen sensor, air/fuel ratio, and speedometer data.

I have been able to log fuel economy and fuel trim data for more than a dozen vehicles, allowing me to troubleshoot for dead or slow sensors as well as glitches and other more complicated issues. It is also cool tolog track data and watch fuel economy change with driving habits and traffic.

I will be recommending this brand to anyone who might ask me.

I am very pleased with the unit I received. It connected flawlessly with both my Android phone and Windows-based laptop. (NOTE: If at first you’re having issues, thoroughly check the settings on whatever device you’re trying to use.

I had to manually change settings on both my devices before they would connect to the OBD Adapter. ) Pairing this device with a software called Forscan (particularly the full desktop version; the app works great, too, but is limited) I am able to perform tasks typically only possible on higher end scan tools, including programming PATS keys! The only issue was that the faceplate on my unit appeared scuffed up, but as it turns out, there was a thin layer of protective film.

Once I peeled it off, it looked like brand new! One more thing to mention: this device does not read MS CAN by default, but is apparently capable of it with a little modification. (I haven’t done this yet, may update this review later.

) I highly recommend this device!.

Easy to use to check and turn off a check engine light during a busy day. Only problem is that the light is out but the code is still stored in computer memory. I think I fixed the car and the light is out but if the code is still there, did I fix it? I still have to get out the big scan tool to clear the memory.

I have never owned a scanner before and was a little skeptical because of the low price. It works AWSOME. I am definately pleased with my purchase. I have tested it on many vehicles with great results.

Guys at work have used it and are all pleased with their results. I would purchase this same one again.

The very first OBD2 Scan Tool I used was back in 2002 (Snap-On Red Brick), and it cost $5,000 USD. It’s amazing to me how basic Scanners can cost as low as $25. For that price, it might be a good idea to carry one in the glovebox of every car you own, kinda like how we use to carry a “Rand McNally” in there.

The scanner arrived in a very timely fashion and was well packaged to avoid the damage that occurs sometimes during shipping. I put it to good use right away, which I may add was very easy!! I am not experienced in using OBD Scanners, but this one made me feel as though I was.

The box is low profile and the unit goes back into it with ease as well. It stores in the glove box very easily and mine will come in handy again and again. I definitely recommend getting one for yourself, and it would also make an excellent xmas gift.

For the price it is worth getting. You can read DTC info, freeze frame, and live data. Freeze frame and live data is generic OBD2 only. Manufacturer PID information will not be displayed. No manual included so will have to figure it out yourself.

There three test modes to run but I could not figure out what they were testing. Overall valuable tool for the money and great introductory tool if you want access to live generic OBD2 data.

The problem with this unit is that it is exceptionally inconsistent in its support of the higher end “control” features that most people are buying it for. For those that just need an OBD II emissions tool, the low end tools give the same info at half (or less outside HFT) the price.

So this unit is all about the ABS, SRS, and control functions (that is why you are paying $300, instead of $75, or $35 for phone dongles and software. ) And that is just where this unit comes up short, terribly short.

It provides a lot of information on some vehicles, and not much on others. The answer to “why” this performance level occurs is understandable. Car makers have virtually no standards that they adhere to, other than the government mandated OBD II (which only covers emissions).

Most makes also pretty fully support their main ECM (engine control module) this way, since they have to allow OBD II to talk to the ECM for emissions. But after that, support is exceptionally uneven.

For vehicles that happen to put all their modules on the same OBD II link, or a single low speed CAN bus, this can read it. But for units that have lots on high speed CAN, or MS speed CAN, or have more legacy modules, the support is not there.

Older vehicles (before 2004 always, before 2006 often) have lots of things on these manufacturer specific bus, and this reader just cannot read that stuff. Supporting all these disparate access mechanisms, which vary per maker, and vary even per vehicle, and year of vehicle, and which are custom to a large degree for the built in “tests”, things like ABS brake purge, Transmission Solenoid activate/deactivate, IACS valve control, Fuel injector control, are custom.

So to get them, you need the $1000 unit, which a subscription (the mechanic version). This “next down” is only good on some cars, and there is absolutely not way to determine what is supported on each and every vehicle that it says it supports.

There is no year, make, model chart, that says: ECM ; ECM, ABS, SRS; ECM, ABS, SRS, BCM, TCM; ECM ABS,SRC,BCM,TCM, TCM-Control, ABS-Purge-Control, ECM-Control. They do not tell you, and really they are trying to mislead you.

For “ABS”, you get ABS light reset. For SRS you get SRS light reset, if it works at all. If it can communicate with the module at all, given the particular communication bus you vehicle uses, which is incredibly uneven in this unit.

So, I have to say, not worth $300. And not worth 20% ($60) restocking fee to determine if it works well on YOUR vehicle. And the restock fee is caused by twofold. (First, the cheaters, who just want to buy use, and return.

But ALSO, the reasonable browsers, who read the specs, think it will be OK, and try it out on their vehicle, and realize the unit falls FAR, FAR, FAR short of the advertised feature set on their vehicle.

That is so many people, that they have had to institute the restocking fee, because this unit is returned a lot. ) Do not waste your money on this. If you have a Ford, get Forscan. If you have a Nissan, Nissan Datascan.

If you need better diagnostics, Android or iPhone Torque or OBD Scan will do as well. The people looking at this want a IBS, Consult III, your-OEM-dealer-SW-here, tool, for $300 that handles: ABS & SRS codes and reset ALWAYS, that handles ABS bleed purge ALWAYS, and that handles KEY PROGRAMMING ALWAYS, and as a bonus, TCM solenoids and timing advance.

This is not it. It has nice graphing, but only 4 PIDS. On an 8 cylinder truck, you need 8 PIDS just to get the cylinders based timing. This tool is not worth the price, not even close. And then HFT is not working hard in their contracts with the manufacturer to keep the units updated with firmware to current makes, even at the uneven level of support that the unit has.

I do not recommend this unit.

Bought this as a replacement for my Cen-Tech scanner I had gotten from HF. The extra features (ABS, SRS, Bi-directional control) was the main reason for the switch. Thus far, have tried bi-direction on one vehicle, but was not supported.

Getting use to the buttons too. Allot more than before, and some are only labeled with odd symbols. Was also a bit disappointed with my local HF store when I bought it. The tool came out of the wire cage, where the new expensive electronic tools are kept.

At first glance, the package looked new when the store employee was carrying it from the cage to the register. Once out the door, and in the car, I pulled the scanner out of the bag, and that’s when I noticed the seal on the box was broken.

Not thinking too much of that, I opened the box, pulled out the tool, and plugged it into my car. That’s when it was absolutely confirmed I was not the original owner of this tool. The scanner didn’t default to require me to select a language.

It was already programmed for spanish. In the previous vehicle tables, there was a 2008 Econoline van that the scanner had already connected to. Someone had bought this, used it to diagnose their vehicle, then it was returned.

Despite that, it was sold to me as new. Was a real pain to reset the language too. Nothing in the included literature mentioned where to go to change the language. Had to download the 100+ page PDF file, and dig through it to figure it out.

Will take a while to find all the stuff this scanner does. Bought it to troubleshoot my daughter’s 2008 Cadillac CTS. It had check engine light, ABS light, Service stabilitrak, service traction control, service brake assist and all wheel drive off displayed on dash.

Tool showed in ABS live data that right front wheel speed sensor was erratic. While driving the car live data showed it sometimes read the same as the other three wheel speed sensors. Some times right front would read ” 0 or 3 mph while other 3 sensors all read 35 mph.

Awaiting front wheel bearing assemblies. Also you can see the Yaw sensor output in real time. Cleared fault code knowing wheel speed sensor was bad. All lights and all codes except Service Stabilitrak cleared.

Four wheel drive came on. Drove the car around the block in the snow. Halfway around the block four wheel drive was working then car went into Limp Home mode. Lights and faults came back. I figured this would happen with wheel speed sensor still bad but it showed what this tool can do.

Time i limped home car came back to normal power without four wheel drive but with lights and code. When I get the new wheel bearing assemblies from Rock Auto installed I am comfident that will fix the problem.
