20 Best Sbc Intake Manifold Gasket (2023 Updated)

Great fit and finish. Good packaging. Good price. No issues. Comes with the heat riser restrictors and open gaskets for more street friendly applications. Nice enough I bought a spare set to have just in case.

Excellent gasket to use. Air Gap intake seated well with the new Edelbrock gaskets. NO LEAKS! Highly recommend.

TPI getting long in the tooth so thought I’d get some spares before they are no longer available. Also I’m using these with a ETEC170 heads and the Edelbrock high flow base. Tried the gaskets with the sealant applied on steel and the ones with sealant on plastic type material.

Neither of those sealed completely so I went with the Edelbrock recommendation to use this gasket with sealant around the ports and GaskaCinch between the head and gasket. That produced a good seal.

This is a great gasket set for the SBC with vortec style heads and intake. Used it on an 383 with Edelbrock E-Tech heads and Edelbrock Performer EPS Intake Manifold. Good fit!

Used on 383 SBC with vortec heads and new RPM Air Gap inlet manifold. Very thick gaskets, but fitted great, followed manufacturers instructions to use gasgacinch and rtv in the right spots and have no leaks to report.

These look like quality gaskets, however in my case I have had problems with the gasket being sucked in at the intake ports in the valley area. I need a stiff gasket with a steel liner which was recommended by a different manufacturer.

These do not have the stiffener, I’m sure they would work well in most cases as I have used these in other engines but they won’t work for the combination I have right now.

I was going to use Fel-Pro gaskets from a local supplier, but purchased these gaskets essentially to qualify for free shipping on the order I was placing with Summit. I should have stuck with Fel-Pro.

The material used for these is almost like soft paper, very cheep and I was concerned how long they would last. But I figured Edelbrock knew what they were doing so I installed them. The description says “stock ports” but they were noticeably larger than the intake ports on my stock ’72 heads.

They looked like they would seal however, so I installed them. They stuck out above the intake manifold so far they prevented the valve covers from fitting properly! I could have trimmed with a a razor blade I guess but I ended up scraping them off and going with the Fel-Pro set I originally intended, which fit perfectly by the way.

These appear to be extremely well made, high quality gaskets. That’s not the problem. They are the “recommended” gasket set in the instructions for an Edelbrock 2101 Performer Intake manifold. This recommendation is evidently made with the assumption you also have installed Edelbrock or some other brand of aftermarket performance heads.

If you are running factory/stock heads, the ports on these gaskets are WAY too big. I am 99 percent certain these would fail to seal around the bottom of the ports on a set of factory/stock heads.

Fel-Pro always makes great gaskets. I use these on 355-358 racing motors with stock Vortec heads. They are a great , thick gasket. However, these *may* leak ever so slightly around the water jacket openings.

I suggest a coating of sealer to ensure a good seal from expansion and contraction.

These gaskets work well on old style blocks with vortec heads. I have many friends who recommend and will only use these gaskets. They also hold up to reuse pretty well for use who re do things such as cam changes or going back in to replace that bad lifter.

Ask me how I know. Lol. You just don’t want to use valley end gaskets. Just gasket maker the gaskets will push out most times.

1255 gaskets work great with alum. aftermarket intake no leeks i did put gasket sealer around water passages i torqued intake bolts to 20 foot pounds to compress gaskets i will use them again on next small block build with gm vortec heads.

Gasket sits on the heads with indexing tabs to stay in place – easy install. They fit perfectly and are made in the USA. If you want a novice level install, buy the OEM gasket because they clip onto the intake and become one with the intake manifold.

I always buy Fel-Pro gaskets and was surprised to find the end seals that sit on the block were cork. I’ve always had these gaskets come with rubber. There were 2 part numbers that appeared identical but this was a couple dollars less.

Now I may have discovered why. I haven’t run the engine enough to know if the cork will seep/leak over time, but after about an hour of run time I don’t see any evidence of leakage. I do clean the block/head joint with acetone and use a small dab of Ultra Black silicone to seal those corners where the side gaskets meet these seals.

Well made as always. I always come back to Fel-Pro. Choose the correct gasket. This is the small port version. If you have larger ports look to 1205, 1206 or 1207. Using the big port versions if you don’t actually need them is begging for leaks and gasket failure.

I ordered several parts for my 2002 GMC Sierra from you guys not knowing what to expect and a little worried but the parts came in Fast and all of them work perfectly! The only reason why I didn’t give five stars is because it’s only been about a month since the parts have been on the vehicle.

I can say so far I am very happy. My vehicle would not pass inspection because it was pulling up so many codes I replaced all four 02 sensors, knock sensors and the intake gaskets all of which I ordered from AM Autoparts.

After replacing with these parts vehicle has passed inspection and is running good no codes showing. You guys are definitely my go to guys now for online auto parts. Your prices are also very fair thanks a lot guys keep up the good work!.

Replacing the intake manifold gaskets are a must if you ever remove the intake for whatever reason. These are as good a quality as the OE gaskets. Be sure the surface is clean and all old material is removed.

Upon reassembly, obtain the proper torque specs and sequence and go by the book. Torque specs for the 1st pass is 44 INCH pounds. The 2nd/final pass is 89 INCH pounds. This is true for most 4. 8/5. 3L Vortec engines.

Be sure to check for your specific year and model.

I bought these intake gaskets, as a OEM replacement for my truck. I have a 5. 3L 323 Vortec V8. I replaced these gaskets, because I needed to replace the knock sensors on my truck also. I felt since the original intake gaskets were plastic and gave me no trouble, then just replace them with a intake gasket of the same type of material.

Gaskets were easy to install, and I hear Fel-Pro gaskets are of good quality. I didn’t feel the need to get the much more expensive intake gasket set, since I don’t use my truck for alot of heavy duty towing or driving.

I have had the gaskets installed for about 2 weeks now, no problems so far.

It is very important to use the correct intake gasket when assembling high performance motors. Sometimes the thicker gasket allows the ports to line up properly, especially when the block has been decked.

Also the size of the port needs to match the head as much as possible. This gasket is choice can be very important in some cases. I’m glad the needs are met with high quality special products like this.

I am currently building a Chevrolet small block 350cid motor, bored 30 over to a 355. Have a set of ProComp 210cc raised port heads, and an Edelbrock Victor Jr. Intake. Got the heads and intake mocked up together to port match the intake with a FelPro 1206 intake gasket, and noticed a gap between the top of intake and head, which was the raised intake runners.

So, that told me I needed a thicker intake gasket, which I then got on Advance Auto site, and found a set of FelPro 1266 gaskets which are twice as thick, that fixed me right up. Thanks Advance Auto, got me going in the right direction again!.

The thicker (.120) gasket took up the extra space between my heads and intake. No water leaks and lined up perfectly. I will keep #1266 in mind.

I will be installing an new set of gaskets for the 3rd time since I bought heads and intake manifold. Edelbrock instructions say to use this gasket but it comes apart after a short time. It splits horizontally as if it were over torqued.

The oil gets sucked into the the cylinder from the valley area and causing a poor running engine from vacuum leaks. Using the instructed torquing procedure does not work. Going with a different brand and P/N of gasket.

Edelbrock’s install literature for the intake I used said I had to use these gaskets. I found that I had to modify them for the coolant ports front and rear since they had material right in the middle of the ports.

Then the little block off inserts that come with them don’t fit. I tried every orientation known to man. I finally called up Edelbrock and said ‘hey guys, I don’t want to use this junk, can I use a different set of gaskets?’ Their tech guy said yes, I could.

These just went in the trash.

Gasket set is good. I recommend that you dry fit manifold to determine where and how large bead of RTV that is needed on sides (valley). I also recommend installing with guide bolts. Find bolts of correct size and about 6 inches long and cut off heads.

Slide manifold down the four studs makes the alignment piece of cake.

Great gaskets. The rubber orings around the holes are not as thick as i imagined. Only on one side of the gasket too. For the front and rear seal, you will need a mountain of rtv. Not really comfortable doing this, although it seemed to work so far.

Gaskets are great.

Had a couple of the “printoseal” intake gaskets fail. Gonna try this Edelbrock intake gasket instead with my new Weiand stealth intake.

Installed on SBC 327 w/ stock iron heads and intake. Fit perfect. These gaskets each have a small 1/2 (+/-) in. hole for exhaust port to intake chamber. Comes with cork gaskets (w/ adhesive on one side) for front and back.

I chose to use Permatex The Right Stuff Gasket Maker instead. Would use again if needed.

Used these on my 64 327 with edelbrock intake.

I like fel-pro gaskets, but for some reason this particular gasket has failed me twice. the first time I started to hear lifter noise, found 3 quarts of antifreeze in my oil. pulled the intake to find the gasket had slid on the fwd left coolant port and allowed coolant into the oil( see pic below) The gasket was installed approximately 3 years before this happened.

Installed the same gaskets again. The second time I started to have a high idle problem, found the intake gasket had slipped so much I can see the gasket opening from the intake/ head sealing surface.

The gasket has been on there a year before this happened. The instructions were followed to a tee, and the intake was torqued exactly as it should have been. Not trying to dog fel-pro,they are my go to brand,but this gasket has been a failure on my engine, trying some other brand this time.

I’ve used Fel Pro Printoseal gaskets since the 1970’s in race and street application engines. The superior seal they offer has never allowed a problem in any of my engines. On tear down, these gaskets are usually easier to remove, and they don’t brinell aluminum intakes or heads.

They are also available in sizes appropriate for port matching where best fuel and air flow is desired. This. 060″ gasket is correct for stock deck height small block Chevys. In a pinch during a race, I have been able to reuse them if a Fel Pro Spray Tack sealer was used.

I only use the supplied cork intake end gaskets when a High Temp Silicone RTV would not have time to properly harden and seal. You’ll also have less oil and water seepage problems using these gaskets on street engines.

Fel – Pro gaskets are always spot on . I just wish they would include rubber rail gaskets that had the ears that hold the rail gaskets in place. Silicon works good though.

Always get these great gaskets from Speedway for my Vortec cylinder head applications

Slightly different than the fel-pro version, but I like the silicone around the ports. For half the price of other similar gaskets you cant go wrong.

Used with a carb intake on vortec motor. And used to port match new intake to heads..

I have RHS Pro Action heads with a Super Victor II intake. I originally was using the 1206 gasket but had to fiddle with them to get a good alignment. They were barely large enough for the ports. The 1207 goes right on with no fussing.

As usual with Fel Pro, they are top notch.

They work – I also use red hi-temp RTV on the ends. Set the manifold and only loosely bolt for a day, then add the remaining bolts and torque to spec the next day. Hasn’t leaked once, and just a little RTV to trim.

Love the end seals way better then they were in the past. great adhesive holds in place well

If your installing a aftermarket manifold make sure you choose the correct gaskets. I wasn’t thinking about the crossover that is wide open on my stock manifold and blocked on the Dart manifold. From what I’ve learned if your blocking the exhaust crossover you need the tin plates that protect the gasket from the heat of the exhaust.

I had to make my own.

Edelbrock 7202 BBC Square Intake Gasket, don’t have to worry about water inlet sealing, gaskets contain seal at areas.

This is not the best gasket, has no steel core. The steel core has much better greater lateral stability. It is for those wishing to match gasket port dimensions to a modified race port. For Street car use 1212-S-3, or better original GM gasket(NAL-12366985).

I have used GM on my 502 and I am now pleased.

Gaskets fit my gen iv 454 with merlin oval port heads with victor jr. Intake perfect. Dont forget to get some adhesive to keep them in place. Comes with china wall gaskets and distributor gasket too.

Even though i dont think anyone uses the china wall ones. Quick delivery.

The gasket is a good fit, but the kit needs silicone gasket material to seal the ends. Throw the short “valley” pieces away and use a high temp silicone gasket making sealant. The sealant also holds the intake gaskets in place while setting the manifold.

Come on guys !! No cork seals for front and rear? Little note in the package says if u want them you need to order separately. Really ?!?!? Cork is cheap. I had to wash my old seals in brake clean and rtv them in place to fill the gap.

I won’t use 1/4″ of sealant on anything. Let alone an intake manifold. Disappointed in that but otherwise does the job just fine.

The factory packaging of this product is of poor design. The gaskets are shrink-wrapped to a thin cardboard backing. The shrink-wrap bonded to the gasket making it nearly impossible to remove without tearing it.

Most of the shrink-wrap was permanently bonded to the gasket making it unusable.

Bought this to replace my gasket on my Edelbrock Performer. Since the gasket is from Edelbrock, expectations were level set. Perfect fit and sealed up good.

Good seal great gasket, Was going to go with the Fel-Pro gasket but upon reading the installation instructions from Edelbrock recommended to use their gasket and was very satisfied with this gasket better quality than Fel-Pro.
