This hand saw make trimming a snap. Well, there is actually no snapping branches with this little beauty; it cuts right through small to medium size branches with ease. Not only is the blade razor sharp, but, the shape of the blade makes a huge difference each time you draw the saw towards you.

It cuts faster than any other hand saw I have used. It’s much better than a straight blade saw. The ergonomically designed handle is much easier on my arthritis than other saws with straight handles.

When pruning shrubs or trees, I usually use large pruners, however, when it is too big to cut, I need a saw. I looked for one that I thought I could use and chose this saw. I am thrilled with the ease of use!.

The saw looks and feels great. I haven’t used it yet, but the set of metal cutting teeth are nice and sharp (be careful!), and can likely do a nice job in your cutting and pruning needs. The cardboard packaging it comes in can be used as a protective sheath afterwards when storing the item.

Totally satisfied with this tree trimmer saw. Blade is sharp and makes cutting branches very easy. I typically use the base pole plus one extension and this provides a very stable tool. I like the light weight poles that are rigid beyond what I expected.

Great saw. It is a great value and cuts fast. The sections stay together good and there is a fair bit of wobble and about 2 hours of use and I’m tired of looking up as much as pulling the saw. The blade is sharp as can be and has a fantastic tooth arrangement.

I’m spraying wd-40 on it per other users recommendations and that seems to be keeping the sap from building up.

This economical pole saw is worth it’s weight in gold. I’ve been cutting mistletoe out of my trees and it has worked wonderfully. There is nothing easy about this work but I have no complaints with this saw.

I almost hurt myself with a homemade version of a pole saw and now I’m glad I got this one. If used properly it has proven to be a safe tool. Yes I’d buy it again.

An excellent item. It has what appears to be a strange hook at the end of the blade. Strange it might look but I have found it incredibly useful. My first use of the saw was with a 3 metre extension pole, also by Gardena, cutting Willow branches over a waterway.

Cutting off the branches meant that they fell in the water; recovery was easy with the blade hook. Excellent. One slight query with this item, common with all Gardena products, is the 25 year guarantee.

Even with light use a pruning saw such as this would be of little use after anything more than about 3 or 4 years use; it certainly wouldn’t last for 25 years. Maybe the construction of it would last that long but the sharpness would not.

Also whilst it offers this guarantee I could find no details on the packaging of how to claim. It just makes one wonder how really useful such a guarantee is in real terms!.

Very good quality saw, I use it on a pole to prune trees.

Until a few days ago, I’d never used a tree pruner. I used this pruner for the first time to cut a branch with approximately a one inch diameter. This basic easy cut took just a few seconds. Then I used the saw to cut through a 2.

5 inch (6. 25 cm) branch. This took less than ten minutes, Not bad for the first time. One warning: using the saw, especially with the pole fully extended to 16 feet, requires a lot of upper body strength.

If you lack the strength, you may want to begin without using the two extensions. This reduces the leverage, making it easier to use, but of course you’ll be limited in the distance you can reach. Alternately, buy a shorter model that weighs less.

One complaint: there is no user manual, only three short paragraphs printed on the packaging materials, so keep the packaging. I would have liked a diagram showing the name of each part, but it was also missing.

That’s okay if you’ve used tree pruners before, but it left me with some questions, so I’ve been on the phone with Fiskars, which has been quite helpful.

Purchased a Friskas pruner recently after the one I had broke. It was absolutely hopeless and could not do the job. Even my husband found it difficult to use. Needs too much strength for blade to cut through branch.

I took it back and exchanged it for a Trojan brand. Absolutely fantastic! Easy to use and a good sharp blade. Exactly what you need. Staff not that happy to exchange, but it didn’t do the job I bought it for.

This is my 2nd Hooyman extension saw which I use for trimming shooting lanes on bow hunting stands. 1st one had a better/stiffer blade but it fell apart after 2 years of use. The adhesive holding the bottom cap basically disintegrated and and the telescoping portions fell out the bottom.

This new one has a thinner blade which bends under stress. The above complaints being said, this was still the best value compared to other extension saws and loppers which also have whimpy blades. Just don’t expect this product to last for more than 2 years with moderate usage (1 or 2 days per month in the woods).

I purchased both the 5′ and 10′ version of this saw. Both saws are very handy and compact to take into the field. I use them both to trim tree branches and limbs to clear a line of sight for my tree stand when I archery hunt.

Both saws work effectively for this. The extension mechanism is built very solid and very durable. One day while removing the saw from the 5′ extension, one of the latching tabs broke off rendering the attachment on the extension defective.

I contacted Hooyman’s customer service department and told them what happened. They shipped me a brand new replacement 5′ extension free of charge (including shipping). The shipping was very fast. These guys stand by their warranty and their product 100%.

Saw a friends and immediately recognized it for a superior product and extremely well-made. Ordered one for my son as an early Christmas gift that he opened just before the Minnesota deer season. While he hasnt used it yet, he saw (no pun) the benefits of it and how well it was made.

Both of us have used other Homemade commercial saws for the hunter. This is far superior In portability and quality than anything we have tried over a combined 96 years of deer hunting. Its a bit spendy, but Im reminded of the old saying, the quality is remembered, long after the price is forgotten.

Should last a lifetime with proper care and sharpening.

Keep in mind that for under 10 bucks you have to keep your expectations under control about this saw. It’s a good, functional, light duty camping saw for cutting up firewood, small saplings and things of that nature.

It’s comfortable to grip, it locks in the closed position and locks in the open position which is a very nice safety feature. The grip is just plastic, not a high quality polymer but the rubber grip is a nice touch and contours to your hand.

If the plastic breaks after some use, so what, it’s under 10 dollars, buy a new one. That’s another nice thing about this super cheap and useful camping saw. I recommend it for the price point.

I use to have several pruning saws until they got stolen. I bought this one as one replacement of those. The first time out it was cutting great. But then, the lever that opens and closes it broke off.

I wasn’t being hard on it or banging it around. It just broke off. Now the blade flops around and doesn’t lock open or shut. The saw blade cuts good but the lever is made very cheap and doesn’t hold up after one use.

NOT a good purchase. Now I have to replace this replacement.

Great little saw. Fits in your pocket or a small survival kit. You can get all kinds of fire wood with this saw. You will not cut down giant trees with it. You will be able to get large enough trees to build a lean to or brush shelter, make a table, make a chair, or any number of traps.

Good for kids to as it is shorter on the stroke and they can handle it better.

Quality pruning saw that can punch above its weight.

What can I say about this saw, it is an authentic Felco. Not cheap, but fun to work with and worth the money

Easy to assemble, easy to use, sturdy. Works as expected. Blade is sharp. No directions – so remember that the blade and carriage bolt only assemble one way. Carriage bolt (square part) MUST fit into the hole with the corresponding square part.

The other bolt goes in from the other side of the saw head assembly. The lock nuts are METRIC so use metric wrenches. Do not over tighten. Keep the cardboard shipping box and use 3/4 of it to hold the dissembled saw.

Remember the “hook” (to pull down branches) is NOT on the same side as the blade. Do not lose the rubber coverings that go on the ends of the dissembled saw. Dissemble the saw after use. You do not want to bend of stress the poles.

Been a customer of Garrett Wade for six years. They now outsource their customer service which is horrible. All I wanted was someone to call me from Garrett Wade to see if they could send me a replacement part rather than returning the entire item.

Great Pole saw and excellent blade, however middle pole will not snap together since the hole will not line up properly to lock in place. I sent Garett Wade pictures and was promised someone would call me.

This pole saw gets it done. I like being able to add or remove pole segments for various heights of work as it allows you to maximize your leverage and approach angle. The blade is wicked sharp and makes light work of most branches (largest I’ve cut so far is about 5″ diameter).

The hook on the back of the head is perfect for pulling down stuck limbs. Keep in mind the pole flexes a lot at maximum reach so your leverage is reduced, but patience will get the limb cut even there.

I recommend this for anyone with high trimming needs as well as close to the ground.

This is a handy and effective tool. I recently gave it a good workout while cutting back a large maple tree. It was great in close quarters amongst the branches. I particularly liked the retractable blade which was easy to use.

The saw is light with a comfortable grip. The teeth are very sharp and easily cut through the thick branches of a yew tree I was pruning. The blade cuts on the pull stroke as clearly marked on the blade.

Don’t try to cut on the forward stroke – it won’t! The blade easily retracts into the handle by slackening the knurled wheel a couple of turns and pulling back- no need to touch the blade. The blade can be extended to any length up to the maximum of 6.

3 inches and quickly locked in position by tightening the knurled wheel. There is a spring clip on the end of the handle for attaching to a belt loop. Over all this is a good sharp saw able to tackle the toughest pruning jobs.

Neat pocket saw, with a retractable blade and a belt clip. Perfect for carrying in a coat pocket or clipped to a belt; handy when out for a walk in the woods to clear recently fallen branches etc or if cutting a hide or ‘den’ for the kids to play in.

Lightweight, compact and – coming from the excellent Fishers range – a sharp as they come! It rips through freshly fallen wood – but takes a bit of work with dried old timber – however it does say on the packaging that the saw teeth are designed for fresh wood!.

I needed to remove an old, leggy, tangled, overgrown juniper shrub but it was in a tight spot. It was growing in a gravel bed between two large shrubs and under a pear tree. The space was too confined to use my limbing saw and too tight for my lopping shear.

Ordinary pruning shears would not faze the tough old wood, so off to Ace I went. They had an excellent choice of trimming tools including bow saws, bilhooks, axes and loppers. I chose this Corona for its compact size, easy to use in a tight spot.

The handle is well shaped for upward or downward cuts. The blade locks open or closed with a secure click. I was NOT prepared for how quickly and easily it cuts. This thing is so sharp that it requires less effort than expected, and I was able to do the job more quickly and easily than planned.

Great little saw; compact, sharp (it lives up to its name) and very capable. Read a lot of reviews all over the interwebs before I decided on the Corona. Every one of them said that this saw will last you multiple seasons of heavy usage and that pound for pound, is a solid competitor to the higher priced folding saws out there.

Thats coming from the people who have owned silkys and bahcos. Only thing Ive read that was a con involved the nylon nut needing some loctite. First thing I did when it arrive (which was lightning fast, btw).

Very happy with it so far, going to be putting it to the test out in the bush.

Very good value. Essential to have. Lightweight. Folds easy. No effort at all to use. I would definitely recommend. I have finally got rid of four trees from my Garden. After three years of trying.

After having tried endless ways to cut down our ivy without any success, a friend recommended this product. As soon as it arrived I used it and managed within 5 minutes to saw the thick ivy root. We also tried it on a branch and the cutting was done in an instant.

This is an excellent pruning saw. Extremely sharp and cuts on the push and pull stroke for easy pruning of even large branches. Grip is comfortable which helps pruning at awkward angles. Good quality and looks like it will last for years if well looked after.

Works slightly different from the previous model, but seems capable of doing the job.

This thing simply works. But do note it’s a home owner, DIY – low duty cycle thing. Made of mostly plastic. You do get what you pay for and for what I paid for it I’m more than satisfied. For those that complain about no oil – of course it needs oil, it’s a chain saw.

They all need oil. Be thankful it’s not included as that would simply raise the costs and complicate shipping – raising costs even more. Stuff is plentiful enough to find and cheap. Remember, it’s an inexpensive home gamer pole saw that should see occasional use – not a Subaru for daily driving.

Prior to this purchase in May of 2020, I had gas powered chair saw by Stihl. When it worked, it was fine but after a few years it died and I trashed it. Then I took gamble on this saw. Amazing. No, it won’t fell a 12″ tree but for cutting limbs even 6″ wide it works well.

The product is very well designed with material that is study and takes abuse. The battery run time is amazing long. I can be out there cutting for 2 hours off and on and its still got enough juice. The telescoping pole works well too.

I also easily can remove the chain for sharpening and easily replace it. Some hints. Always start with a full battery charge and the proper level of oil and be sure the chain has the proper tension. You should be able to grab the chain pull it away from the bar slightly and have it snap back.

The manual tells you about this. One improvement it could use. To adjust the tension on the chain there is a wheel. I would like to see that a bit larger so you could use it more easily. This is a purchase I would gladly make again!!.

Very easy to use, but you have to get used to the weight of the saw at the end of the pole. Attachment bar is very easy to install. I charged up the battery and cut 20 maple branches up to 5 inches thick and had plenty of battery life left.

All my cuts were without any issue. I did not have any problems with the chain or bar. I am very happy with my purchase. You must have the bar oil before you start the saw that can be purchased almoat anywhere.

I can also say it wasnt very noisy either.

I’ve been putting together a series of packs for the backcountry and needed one more folding saw. I found this in Harbor Freight and was 100% impressed with it so I had to have one. I’ve got other more-expensive saws, but honestly this one is my favorite.

The rubberized grip makes it super easy to hold. The locking mechanism keeps it from opening up in your pack, potentially damaging the contents. Dollar for dollar this is the best folding saw I’ve found.

I’ll be getting more when the store gets more in, hopefully soon.

I like this saw so much that I have purchased it multiple times. I works very well for cutting lumber, branches, trees, and shrubs. It is a flexible use tool that comes through when you need it. The price makes it a good choice when I need to cut near something that may damage of destroy a more expensive tool.

The size and weight make it a tool that can be carried or stored easily.

I was looking for tools for firewood processing while on camping / hunting trips. I have a hatchet and bushcrafting knife, but I wanted a folding pruning saw to avoid having to whack my way through a downed limb to process it for the evening campfire.

I use this around the yard as well to trim back lower limbs of a Texas Ash tree I have close to a fence to keep the limbs off the fence. Teeth are nice and sharp. Good solid impact resistant grippy handle.

Great function to the lock. It feels and works like a much more expensive tool.

There’s nothing quite like these saws. After spending ages, and a small fortune buying and trying various folding saws, these have come up trumps. OK, so they are a little large compared with the folders, but they cut through anything quickly, even seasoned oak.

They are so good I now have three, with two spare ones in case I have problems buying replacements in the future.

Paid about 15 ($20) for this saw. Great value cuts well. Teeth are large, so more suitable for 40mm plus diameter logs. It will cut up to 300mm, though there is not much stroke left at that thickness.

Note that the blade only cuts on pulling action, not push (common for this type of saw) which does mean it works better with tlo hands, one for pressure, the other for the pulling action. It would be useful if the handle was mountable on a pole (broom handle) which would have been easy to add into the plastic moulded handle – for use on high branches.

This tree saw is awesome! Its virtually effortless to saw through tree branches of 4 inches and even up to 10 inches. I used it to take most of a cypress tree down after first removing green branches first.

Using the whole length of the curved saw the wood is sawn through in no time. Brilliant.

I’ve already got a couple of these and the hedge trimmer. They work well on my many large trees and allow me to extend up to 20ft which with the NiCad battery power is a great tool.

Bij gebruik door een ‘hobbyist’ kan hier nogal wat fout gaan. Bijvoorbeeld de ketting wel goed inoliën voor gebruik, maar dan het reservoir ‘vergeten’ omdat dit niet zo duidelijk wordt vermeld. Het reservoir blijkt zelfs een kijkglaasje te hebben om te checken of er nog voldoende olie in zit.

Dan het belang van de draagband, m. n. essentieel bij hoogsnoeien met uitgeschoven stang. Het op juiste wijze dragen van deze band kan wel wat duidelijker worden benadrukt/ toegelicht in de gebruiksaanwijzing.

Verder, in de gebruiksaanwijzing bevinden zich stukken duitse tekst tussen de nederlandse. Een beetje verwarrend. De naam -snoeier vind ik een enigszins misleidende benaming. Bij het snoeien/ toppen van bijv.

‘hoge’ coniferen is de ketting een paar keer vast- en eraf gelopen door vastzittend snoeisel in de kettingkast. De snoeier is primair bedoeld voor zagen dus. Een instructiefilmpje op internet zou een goed hulp zijn, mogelijk is dit er al, maar ik heb het niet kunnen vinden.

I am really pleased with this pruning saw. I needed something to get through branches that were too thick for loppers. I don’t have alot of strength, but found this went through relatively easily. Good clean cut.

Wasn’t sure about them folding but having seen the blade, it’s a good idea. Blade tucks safely away for storing.

The saw is easy to use and, being a folding one, is safe to carry about. It has cut through the dead branches I wanted it for with no difficulty. I had heard that sometimes folding saws were hard to fold, but this one folds very easily.

For the price I paid, it seems excellent value for money.

Brought it for use in allotment that has a lot of trees that need maintenance/ trimming. Decent blade goes through 3 or 4 inch branches easily. Locking mechanism seems good, need to see how it fairs.

Like way it folds up neatly for carrying. Great value of its price. If doing regular large jobs then I would look at a more expensive professional saw, but this one does really well for what I want.
