And he has friends in Vietnam that were born and still live there and those fermented items CAN BE RISKY and this was and is the case herein as the manifest weight of the evidence lies with a product that MIGHT HAVE been mishandled.

SO be careful fellow citizens. And I attempted to purchase de Buyer Mineral B Bois Round Fry pan and attempted to withdraw the order quite unsuccessfully and have requested at least twice to convey a return label and that has been unsuccessful and the Kuhn Rikon Julienne was not what I ordered so this place Chris in the cross hairs of quality control, responsibility, and outright honor.

I have purchased numerous well known brands of fish sauce. Red Boat is my all time favorite. I am impressed with the minimal but high quality ingredients, consisting of ONLY black anchovies and salt, sourced, fermented, bottled and packaged in Vietnam.

This brand is the cleanest and freshest tasting fish sauce. Despite consisting of only anchovies and salt it tastes surprisingly less “fishy” and less salt-laden than the other fish sauce brands I have used.

I use it in many Asian dishes, Pho, stir-fry dishes, Thai curries and pan-Asian congees, but it works wonderfully in many non-Asian recipes, fish chowders, clam sauces for pasta, Paella and even in homemade Caesar salad dressing, etc.

I keep this always on hand and no other fish sauce equals Red Boat’s quality. It is great to find it available on VitaCost @ competitive prices.

I got the Butter Masala from Meijer. This was the first time I tried any Maya Kaimal products. I sauted chicken tenderloins with green pepper, onion, ground ginger ground cloves, black pepper and salt.

Then I added steamed broccoli and coliflower with the sauce and simmered for at least fifteen minutes. I poured mine over a bed of Basmati rice and enjoyed! The flavor was perfect! Now I want to try all their products! Huge fan! I will definitely be making this again.

I’m a fan of Indian cuisine and if you’re a regular who likes it and wants to try it at home, this Masala sauce will make your dinner night perfect. My jar said Mild, so definitely no heat spice to it but keep in mind it does have spices that naturally give off that slight pepper tingle to tongues.

It’s NOT completely plain – for those who really don’t like spice. My only recommendation is IF you are attempting Indian for the first time OR guests who like Indian food; maybe this quick help won’t be for you.

I tried this because I saw a vlogger on YouTube make a simple dish from it, admitting that it’s not authentic but still pretty good. My husband and I loved it. Nothing you make at home can ever duplicate restaurant quality but still pretty tasty and fast.

To speed up the process I used frozen fully cooked Tyson diced chicken and sliced up some sweet peppers; sauted that on high until the chicken had brown edges and the sweetness of the peppers came through.

Then added the sauce, simmered for 5 minutes before adding a bit of shrimp and allowing it to simmer the rest of the way with the stove off. Served with basmati rice and Broccoli florets. Easy dinner.

I wanted to know the difference between Rao’s Tomato & Basil and Marinara sauces, so I found out and will share the info here. The ingredients are the same, but the ratios are different. In this one, there is more basil, less oil, fewer calories (80 vs 100 per serving–which is significant), and the sauce is smoother (Marinara is unexpectedly SLIGHTLY ‘chunkier’).

In other words, the “Tomato” part of “Tomato Basil” seems spurious; there are no ‘chunks’ of tomatos in Tomato Basil. And both HAVE basil, Tomato Basil just has more. You can visually see this, comparing two jars.

So, they should change the name from “Tomato Basil” to “Extra Basil” in my mind, lol. And yes, you could add extra basil yourself. Also, I noticed visually that the Marinara had more onion, even though the two list them at the same place on the ingredients list.

Side-by-side, I can actually visually see the Marinara oil globs in the jar, while I don’t see any oil globs for what I’ll call now the Extra Basil version. Deliberating on whether it’s worth the extra money (it’s already extremely expensive), my partner and I are considering the extra money might be worth it just to have fewer fat calories (pay more to get less, in a way).

My partner hypothesized that they don’t need to add as much fat to get a good flavor in the Basil version, due to the extra herb. It’s logical, but I don’t know. All I know is I didn’t miss the oil in the Basil.

Tasting both blind (I’ve tried both versions in 2 days, so it’s fresh in my mind), I would have actually said the Extra Basil has more fat, just by the flavor and texture. Taste- and texture-wise, the Extra Basil version tastes to me more like a pizza sauce (I love pizza sauce).

Though you could use the Marinara as pizza sauce too. I’ve tried many bespoke pizza sauces that didn’t taste as much what I think of as ‘pizza sauce’ as the Basil. When you open the jar, it smells like ‘a good pizzeria’.

I’ve never had a pasta sauce I could just eat with a spoon, until now. I joked with a friend: “I can just skip the pasta!” Rao’s does make a pizza sauce, and I either haven’t tried it yet, or I can’t remember when I did (I think I’ve tried every pizza sauce sold here).

Rao’s pizza sauce has tweaked ingredients (adds carrots and cherry tomatos, probably for sweetness and tartness). But I’d venture to guess the biggest difference is the size of the jar, as you supposedly need less sauce to make a pizza (not in my book).

I’d have zero hesitation to use the Extra Basil version instead, especially if I were needing more than 1 jar of regular pizza sauce (and it would actually save money). While I’m at it: Cento is the budget leader in pizza sauce, Rao’s is the quality leader (in my book).

Cento, while very good for canned sauce, and while having the exact same ingredients, to my memory is less flavorful, seems ‘waterier’, and more like a straight tomato sauce. Rao’s is just something different.

I’ve also found opened Rao’s to stay good in the fridge for a long time, something you can’t do with cans. Speaking of ingredients, Rao’s uses real olive oil, and doesn’t add sugar. Actually so does Cento.

Both Marinara and ‘Extra Basil’ are incredible sauces–either is by far better than anything prefab I’ve ever had. In fact, that’s true of all Rao’s tomato sauces, although the variations are less-obvious.

For instance, I just shrugged at the ‘Vodka’ version, and its extra cost (“tasted like Rao’s”). The Arrabbiata version seems to be just “Rao’s” with red pepper flake, for heat. Although with Tomato Basil, the differences go a bit beyond the extra basil.

If you’re balking at the price, try 1 jar of either. If you want a sauce more like fresh stewed tomatos made on your stovetop, where tomatos are the star of the show, get the Marinara. If you want something SLIGHTLY ‘thicker’/smoother and a LITTLE more emphasis on spice (not heat), more like a pizza sauce or storebought pasta sauce, or you just want less fat, try the Marinara.

Can’t go wrong with either.

This is my typical to go so sauce when I don’t have time to make my own. I loved the flavor and trusted the brand and ingredients used. Yesterday I went and purchased 2 cans to use. When I opened them at home, some weird dried flaky stuff fell on my hands and all over my pasta.

When I looked closely it looked like dry worms or some type of small, dried up bugs. Dissapointed and slightly disgusted as this has never happened before. I always check my expiration dates and it looked good.

I usually trust this brand anyways. It was frustrating I had to throw away all my food. I went back to the store to report this. I initially asked if I could replace the bottles with 2 new ones instead of a refund so I went the aisle and when I grabbed a new can I noticed it also had dried up bugs on the lid and bottom.

There were at least 3 more bottles that looked the same. I checked their expiration date and it was for the year 2025 so it was odd they went bad. I decided to get a refund instead. Careful when purchasing and hopefully the sauces have all been checked and taken off the shelf.

A little discouraged after this experience to repurchase this brand. Thank you to target employees for the assistance.

Okay, so, after seeing Rao’s sauce in the supermarket at upwards of 5x the cost of some other sauces, I wanted to know why it was so expensive. After reading all of the raving reviews, I finally decided to give this sauce a try.

It wasn’t what I expected, but that doesn’t mean it was bad, I just needed to stay open minded. Let me explain. Usually, I’m used to buying cheaper sauces like Ragu, Prego, store brands, and I spruce them up with my own ingredients.

Most of them are loaded with sugar, which is supposed to cut the acidity, which it does, but once you’re used to it, you don’t realize just how much sugar there is in there and believe it or not, there’s as much sugar in Ragu as there is in a sugary cereal (I know, crazy right?).

Anyway, once I heated up the sauce on the stove and then went for a spoonful, I was immediately taken aback, by the lack of sweetness, but not in a bad way. All of a sudden I realized what real homemade tomato sauce is supposed to taste like, and it’s supposed to taste like strong tomatoes.

I saw one review where the guy said it tasted like tomato paste and gave it a 1 star review, but it’s supposed to taste like concentrated tomatoes, after all, the tomatoes are cooked down and the water is reduced, until you’re left with a very potent tomato sauce and yes, it is incredibly flavorful.

This is why people that are italian and were raised with homemade sauce seem to love this. Now that I have seen the light in terms of what real tomato sauce is supposed to be, I no longer want sauces that are loaded with sugar.

I want something more along the lines of this, the only problem is the price. While it is exceptionally good and flavorful, I just can’t justify a 5x price differential over Prego. I saw one person say that there’s Rao’s and then there all the other crap like Ragu, Prego, etc.

, but the one thing he added to the “crap” was Brailla and that’s where need to correct him. In my opinion, if you want a decent sauce, without the sugar, and you don’t want to pay 5x the price, then Barilla sauce is actually decent.

No sugar added, all basic decent ingredients like Rao’s (different tomatoes), but no preservatives and it’s 1/4 of the cost of Rao’s. If Rao’s was more reasonably priced, I’d give it 5*, but I’m not rich, and so knowing I can get 4 jars of Barilla Tomato Basil for 1 Jar of Rao’s, I gotta go with Barilla, but no more Ragu for me.

I soak my chicken and salmon in this before cooking. Everyone comments on how delicious it is. I love the flavor, sprinkle a few other spices on before cooking and its always amazing. I’ve been using this for over 10 years.

Not a single time goes by when a new friend introduced to this food doesn’t comment how good it is. Sometimes I soak over night, but even a 30 min soak makes a big taste difference. Great stuff! Love it.

My husband and I love this sauce. It’s the best teriyaki sauce in the world. I marinade steaks and chicken and this sauce and then throw them on the grill with large slices of pineapple and oh what a meal.

I’ve used this sauce for many years because I was able to purchase it in big box stores but not anymore so I have been ordering it online and so happy I can. I totally recommend buying this but please leave me some!.

This sauce is the best I’ve ever tasted! I love to use it all of the time, but especially when I’ve got a stuffy nose from a cold or sinus problems. Take a shrimp, move it through the sauce until a good bit is on the shrimp, put it in your mouth, wait about 2 seconds.

VOILA! Your sinuses are open and breathing is easy!.

My family and I don’t eat meat. We’ve cut it out of our diet for health reasons. We will eat seafood on occasion though and McCormick cocktail sauce is absolutely perfect with our shrimp. I like how it comes in original and extra hot.

Perfect taste. I use to mix my own – seafood sauce and horseradish but this is perfect right out of the bottle. We use it almost daily as a veggie dip. This often is a substitute for a traditional salad and it also works as a snack.

San-J Asian sauces are the ONLY brand I buy for a few reasons: They taste fantastic, they are not loaded garlic (yuck), they are not super high in sodium, they are at a good price point. The teriyaki version is a thinner dipping sauce or marinade.

If used as a stir fry sauce, it does coat stir fry ingredients but should be thickened or combined with a thicker sauce to give the desired “body” needed for a dish. Highly recommended!.

Found San-j products several years ago in my local supermarket. Because I am Gluten Free for serious health reasons I must be very careful. Shortly after finding the sauces they disappeared from store shelves.

Looking the brand San-j up on line I found Vitacost. I think it has been more than 5 years now, I am a regular buyer with Vitacost. San-j is excellent with consistently tasty dipping sauces/marinades.

Great sauce. A little goes a long way. Our “go to” product. Delicious with riced cauliflower.

LOVE the balanced yet fairly heavily smoky flavor of this medium-hot sauce. My ONLY complaint about it is that it’s very thick and hard to get out of the bottle sometimes; we store it upside-down once it gets to the point where you’re waiting a full 60+ seconds for it to get out near the end of the bottle.

It’s SO delicious and I have re-purchased it several times to make sure I never don’t have it on hand. GREAT medium sauce that goes well on tacos, chicken strips, and really would be good anywhere you’d like a smoky sauce.

One person in our group liked this sauce the best, but two others really disliked it. I fall in the middle, leaning more toward the dislike side unfortunately. This sauce is mostly okay, but there’s one element that sort of sticks out strangely.

It’s a weird bitterness or something unpleasant – maybe like raw onions? Otherwise, the flavor is mostly creamy with some complex umami notes.

If you love to eat Mediterranean/Middle Eastern food regularly, you absolutely NEED to have this sauce in your life. Per Dawson’s suggestion, I’ve tried this on Shawarma, falafel, and hummus. This sauce’s garlicky flavor and mild chili spice not only works incredibly well Middle Eastern cuisine, I find that it elevates the flavors.

If you want your sauce to be hotter or don’t eat a lot of Middle Eastern cuisine, then this probably won’t be for you. However, if you prefer flavor over intense heat and constantly find yourself daydreaming about that perfect shawarma sandwich, Dawson’s Shawarma Sauce will be a game-changer.

This is NOT the old Garlic Hoisin Sauce by Soy Vay. It tastes like the Soy Vay brand cheapened the sauce ingredients and added a lot more salt. The new Garlic Hoisin sauce tastes like the generic type of teriyaki sauce you could get for $1 at The Dollar Store.

The new sauce lacks the miso, peanut, carmel and sesame flavors of the old version. There is NOTHING special or likeable about this new version of the sauce. You could not recognize the flavor in an Asian dish as a Hoisin sauce.

Plus, it is expensive for the low quality that you get in the bottle. I returned it.

Always on the look for a better sauce I tried this stuff out years ago and its been in my arsenal of spice ever since. Good Teriyaki sauce is an elusive thing. Not too sweet, not to salty, the key is that when you take a bite that the food taste like something other than that meat marinated in soy sauce + sugar.

The way the flavors of the sauce come together and transform the meat into something greater than their component parts is key. Not all sauces, in fact not many sauces are capable of this. I’ve had some sauces that on their own tasted fine but were just not strong enough to impart their magic into the meat.

I had blown through at least a dozen different brands before I tried this one and on the first use knew I had a winner. Since then I’ve tried at least a dozen more, had some successes but as far as a general purpose sauce for Teriyaki flavor this is still the champ.

The flavor excellent, it’s not quite what you might taste at a Japanese Restaurant. Has its own character and flavor. The important thing is it is a good flavor and works the melding magic. It’s a sweet, tangy flavor with a side of sesame which gives it the unique character.

Its sweetness has an almost Mirin like quality and in strong concentrations is a bit too much for direct consumption. As a marinade for meats and veggies it is excellent. It does the obligatory tenderization as well as flavoring.

I’ve done beef, pork and chicken and it’s a winner on them all. I’ve also taken to using it as a drizzle on vegetables and rice. Its strong stuff so use it sparingly. On veggies it usually isn’t a problem as the extra rolls off, but if you flavor your rice with it be careful because you can soak up too much.

I really enjoy it on asparagus, it takes it to a new level. The value you get for the sauce is excellent, the quantity for the money is good. When you first open the bottle you need to mix it up as the sesame seeds all tend to float to the top.

Break it open with a chopstick and mix it around till you can shake it up. Refrigerate after opening and enjoy.

I cook meals for my family every single day. I love to experiment with different cuisine and flavors. I have made my own teriyaki sauce and I have purchased every brand you can name. This Veri Veri Teriyaki marinade and sauce is the only brand I buy now.

There is nothing out there that tastes more authentic and homemade than this one. A little goes a long way in seasoning and it’s the perfect marinade for steak! My teriyaki grilled salmon is a hit with everyone.

This is a very special gourmet sauce and I am an awesome cook! It is a Japanese style marinade even if labeled Maui Marinade!! The flavor for stir fry bell peppers, green onions, mushrooms, chicken and pineapple is out of this world.

World harbours maui mountain teriyaki marinade and sauce is amazing to cook with. I love it best on chicken baked. Recently i tried salmon teriyaki with some vegetables in parchment paper all wrapped and baked ive even made it with shrimp!.

Salmon! I could eat it at every meal. I didn’t care for the taste of any of the other dipping sauces or seasonings for Salmon till I came across “Johnny’s Salmon finishing sauce” it is the absolute best sauce! The only downfall is once I found it at my local grocery store they stopped carrying it.

I searched everywhere and could not find it any where. finally I found it again in Cincinnati only after a few months they stopped carrying it too. Talk about being disappointed I was heartbroken. My husband known how much I love Johnny’s he searched again and found it on Walmart’s website, I pray they actually have it on their shelf, if so I’m buying a case to heck with getting one bottle.

I couldn’t find locally anymore so purchased this 6 pack. This stuff is the best on any fish. Can use in place of tartar sauce too! Share a bottle with a friend or friends if you can’t use all. Stored in fridge unopened will add a year to the best by date.

I bought this sauce online because I found it at a locale store. The store quit carrying It. After checking five different locale stores And none of then carrying the sauce I gave up. I found it at walmarts website, man was I happy.

Not only was it less money. I order it and a few days later went to pick it up. No waiting in line just in and out.

This sauce tastes like the sauce at the restaurant that claims their sauce tastes like homemade. It costs much more than the upper quality affordable jar sauces, like Prego, but it is worth the difference in taste.

I also buy Great Value frozen cheese ravioli and a Guaranteed fresh Italian bread loaf. Browned lean ground beef goes into the sauce. I chop fresh garlic into a bowl (1 melted slice of butter per person), adding a dash of salt, and cook it in the microwave a minute.

Cut the loaf open longways, toast it until heated, spoon the garlic butter on top and finish toasting bread to a light toast so the garlic browns but does not burn. Toss a little Great Value fresh parmesan on top (found at Walmart where the shredded cheeses are) and toast one more minute.

Plate the drained ravioli that has been tossed in a tiny bit of extra virgin olive oil, add sauce and a sprinkle of fresh parmesan and some mozzarella shreds (I like to shred fresh mozz instead of buying the packaged shreds), and, served with the irresistable garlic bread and ice cold sparkling La Croix Lemoncello- and I have just served my kids and I a $65 Olive Garden meal at home for around $15! It is quick, easy and satisfies the “eat what another cook made” thing we all have.

This is one of the best marinara sauce out there. We tried it due to a mistake when ordering online. Sometimes a mistake can work out for the better. Exactly what this was. Incredible taste, thick enough without be too thick.

Absolutely the best spaghetti sauce in stores. It taste 100% homemade its filled with chunks of fresh garlic that you can see. The garlic taste is perfectly even balanced with the tomato. Its definitely a sauce that the longer it simmers the more robust it is in flavor.

Don’t get me wrong a good 20 min on the stove will have you drilling, you don’t have to wait long. I also really appreciate that there is no sugar or preservatives in the sauce. The freshness is so important for a good meal.

Yoshida’s is the best gourmet sauce ever! I use it in so many ways, and everyone I have for dinner asks me what I used. I give it regularly as gifts to people that have asked, and they all rave about it! I’m not sure why it has been taken out of my club, but please bring it back! I was happy to find that you still have it online, but it would be better in the club! If you brought Yoshida’s back to the club and did sample testing, this product would sell better than most all of the other sample testings.

It’s fantastic! One of the most amazing things to make with Yoshida’s is sauteed mushrooms to top a grilled steak. I use two or three tablespoons of butter with about an equal amount of Yoshida’s. It’s lucky if the mushrooms ever make it to the dinner table as everyone is always dipping into them.

I use Mr Yoshida Gourmet sauce to marinate all my meats, seafood and vegetables. This is the one and only sauce I use. The flavor is amazing. I receive lots of compliments on how delicious my food tastes.

I couldn’t find this product at my local Walmart or Sam’s club so I ordered on the Walmart website. Delivery was free and shipment arrived in 2 days.

I bought this recently after a few years as I used to like it and wanted a change from hp. I think this is now awful and smelled and tasted like coal tar. Think wrights or coal tar or Pears soap but a lot stronger.

Disliked it immensely and squeezed it into bin then washed out and recyled bottle.

I only bought this sauce as my usual brand was out of stock. Pleasantly surprised. Taste fine. Would buy again.

I believe this is the best enchilada sauce I have ever tasted, WITH the exception of the one my husband makes at home. The ingredients are great, it is thick and savory, with no “bite” from the acid in the tomatoes.

I used it to make tostadas – mine were meatless, and thought it was simply excellent. The other enchilada sauce I got the same day, and tried, was lackluster compared to this one. The ONLY thing that would be better, is if it was packaged in a jar.

We only used part of the pouch, and it would have been easier to store the rest if it was in a jar – nonetheless – the taste is simply EXCELLENT! I fully intend to purchase it again!.

So I’m to lazy to make real enchilada sauce and was looking for an easy and delicious sauce I could buy in store. I do not like the las palmas brand it’s so gross but this sauce omg my taste buds were in heaven.

My whole family loved the enchiladas I made with this sauce. This is the best store bought enchilada sauce hands down. I know how to make my own but like I said sometimes I don’t have time or patience and kinda lazy but who isn’t ? Well this is the sauce that comes somewhat close to tasting like real enchilada sauce in my opinion.

I’d recommend getting two packets as they aren’t big just in case. And don’t forget to fry the tortillas a little bit before you start rolling them or they’ll fall apart. I highly recommend this sauce and it’s only $1.

Really good enchilada sauce! So easy to make. I boiled breasts and thighs then shredded with sauteed peppers and onions, rolled in corn tortillas, topped with 2 packs of sauce and queso fresco then baked for 15 minutes.

Everyone loved it. Don’t worry if the warmed tortillas tear, it’ll come out fine. Make easier by using leftover chicken!! Oh and the finished product tastes better than the sauce straight out of the pouch so don’t worry!.

BBQ sauce is everywhere these days so it’s tough to narrow it down sometimes. Take a chance on this beauty! Spicy but not too much, mustard tang but not too much, sweet in the right spot. Great balanced sauce for those of us who don’t look for the average hickory sweet sauces.

Not a connoisseur of fish sauce, but it seems similar to the few others I’ve had except maybe more salty and less umami. Will do the job in kimchi, where most of it is going to be used. __PACKAGING CAUTION: Don’t cut the hinge on the black plastic cap trying to get a knife under the heavy-duty black plastic capsule.

And once you get rid of that, you’re done, the cap doesn’t unscrew and there’s no inner security seal, you just shake out a few drops at a time. Actually handier.

This smells so hideous that I literally attempted to wipe off my food. I can still recall the smell – it smells like three-day-old fish that wasn’t properly refrigerated. If you want to keep your appetite, avoid this.

I’d give it -5 stars if I could.

While I can’t breathe in the direct aroma of this fish sauce, many of my Thai inspired dishes would not taste right without it. It adds an authentic flavor to coconut chicken soup and some curry dishes.

Be careful!! Add a little and add more to taste.

I have a small senior maltese who lost all her teeth and can only eat soft food. The food that I provide to her is the vegetarian frozen food. It tends to dry out and my dog is a picky eater. With adding this to the mix, my dog finishes it up so quickly and her mouth doesn’t leave an oily smell and doesn’t leave the hairs around her mouth oily.

I’ve long wondered why someone didn’t make a topping for dog food. My dogs are vegan, so most of the flavors won’t work. But they absolutely love the vegan flavor. Great product.

Personally, I don’t care for this sauce on wings, but I LOVE it on pretty much anything else you’d use BBQ sauce on. Love it on grilled or smoked foods: pork, beef, or chicken, doesn’t matter. Has a nice little kick to it, and tastes pretty much identical to the sauce in the restaurant.

This has become our go-to BBQ in our house. Even our kids like it.

This Sauce Is Sooo Good. I only got this for my family. I got this one and the hot kind and when I say. I have barely used the hot kind ( which was Originally for me). Because this sauce doesn’t have that over powering thick bbq taste I dislike.

It’s hot and good too.

Love this flavor of sauce. I now make my own wings in the air fryer. It’s so much healthier then eating at the restaurant and their sauces all taste the same! If you like eating at BWW I would recommend their sauces for a healthier and cheaper option.
