We had a Winegard trav’lerpro smart on our previous rv. Sales person convinced us to get this for our new rv. We chose poorly! Quiet operation? Sounds like we have a gun turret on top of our RV! Camping and it’s raining? Want to watch TV? Forget it, unless you want to watch complete/partial signal loss screen! Saving to get another traveler pro smart!.

Unit is way smaller then previous satellite dome. Works great while driving down the hwy. Drop signals when under trees when driving but reconnects very quickly. I would recommend if your looking a great in motion satellite.

I am running two receivers ,only have to be on the same satellite as the primary tv. You can watch 2 different channels.

We had the T4 installed on our brand new Winnebago back in 2019. It has worked a total of 3 times. Dish exchanged the Wally once, worked then quit. This has been the biggest waste of $1500 we’ve ever spent.

Unit is great once up and running. A little temperamental but the bugs can be worked out quickly. Called winegard direct and a very help rep got me up and running very quickly. Only Con is satellite power source is required at all times vs the older unit power could be dis connected after satellite was found.

It wasn’t until I received the G2 that I discovered that it wouldn’t work with the Dish Hopper and Joey, that I was looking forward to. It also takes both coax to the receiver to have record/watch capabilities.

I bought it with the intention of mounting it on the MH roof to replace the King Dome that is becoming obsolete this spring. Now, since three cables must snake down inside the roof instead of one (takes a 12v power line, and two coax) I’m not sure I won’t just haul it mobile.

If you’re interested in the Hopper, and don’t wish to mount it permanently, the “Traveller” will be a better option. I’ve had the G2 a month, and still trying to figure out the DVR/G2 interaction. It’s so much better than having the VHS/DVD player, so I’m pretty happy.

Winegard is slowly getting more user friendly with this antenna. Next model needs power supply built in somehow so I do not have to cram it in a small space with my receiver. I am using it in an RV with no access to cables except in an under coach compartment for input from antenna and a small closed in space where cable comes inside the coach with barely enough room for receiver.

I do have 12v in the under compartment that worked okay with the two cable setup. Maybe power supply with battery built into the antenna?.

I got our Pathway X2 on clearance. It was an open box item and only cost me $125. 00 – it came with NOTHING but the antenna. Our RV also has a King Tailgater. The X2 was purchased because, using the King Tailgater often resulted in my children wanting to watch one thing, and my wife and I wanting to watch something else.

Well, while the Tailgater can support two receivers, what they don’t tell you is that it cannot draw from two different satellites. The result: my wife and OR the kids would not be able to watch our programs unless they were drawn from the same satellite.

Because of the very low price, I grabbed the Pathway X2. The X2 works GREAT. It grabs the satellites automatically and quickly. It further gives us the flexibility to have a separate satellite attached to each of our Wally receivers.

No more fighting over who’s show will be on the TV(s). Most importantly for the purpose of this review, the Pathway X2 works exactly as advertised. It’s simple, fast and gives us the same TV in our motorhome as we have in the house.

I first set up my X2 satellite on the tri-pod behind my toy-hauler trailer. I connected the walley receiver with the 50 ft of Phat Weather seal quad shield cable thru the floor of the trailer and to the ground mounted tri-pod satellite unit.

I tried several locations in and around my camp site. Unfortunately my “purchased” camping club site is buried in the trees, no signal. 200 ft away was a clearing where several of my neighbors have set up their fixed satellite receivers.

Most were professionally adjusted for best picture. I purchased 250 ft Tri-sheild cable from Phat cable and attached it to the 50 of Weather seal. When I powered off the Wally receiver it activated the satellite seeking motors.

Within the 10 minutes I had a clear and crisp high definition picture on all the designated HD channels. Very pleased. That is 300 feet of cable feed and one connector.

Don t know why we waited so long to make the purchase! My husband and I are currently full time in our travel trailer. We purchased the tailgater pro last summer, and were very disappointed. After a ton of researching our eyes were always coming back to this- for a reason, obviously! We finally got tired of our 5 channels we got from the antenna, and bit the bullet last week.

Boy, were we so glad that we did! For us, we live in the middle of a very wooded campground on the lake, but we do have one free opening that is just enough for us to manage. I wouldn t recommend this product if there will be trees or anything to block the satellites signal.

The set up was very straight forward, and after a quick phone call to dish we were watching tv in minutes!.

Works too well. Now I’m going to the woods to watch football! Heckuva deal though once you get past the antenna/receiver purchase. Already have DISH service? It’s $7-a-month extra that you can switch on and off at will.

The setup works out of the box. We started with a tripod antenna mount when we were anchored to a campground and graduated to a roof mount (same antenna) unsealing and resealing existing perforations to run the one coaxial cable between rcv/ant.

Powered from shore power or an inverter with less than 50w draw and I use an extended hard drive to get stop/start/reverse and recording (DVR) capabilities. Use while parked only with my antenna setup.

Once parked your reception depends on the amount of overhead obstruction. Clouds? not so much; trees? break out your book or turn on the radio (just not XM, dig?) PS: Long way from a pack of Luckies rolled into your t-shirt sleeve and a sleeping bag strapped to your handlebars, right?.

It produces a weaker transmission to the television than the Tailgater Four. The transmission is approximately 29% weaker. For example, on one signal strength measurement it is a value of 20 versus a value of 28 from the Four.

Therefore there is interruption and occasional distortion. Dramatic failure does not occur on all frequencies but overall all frequencies are weaker. I could suppose that this is the result of splitting the transmission from the antenna to separate coaxial cables.

That is a guess.

I bought a tailgate used it 2 times and now the dish will not connect to a satellite. Customer service is horrible still waiting for a call back 24 hours later. $400 and I used it twice, off to buy a new one.

I hope there is another manufacturer cause these are junk.

For starters, getting this was a splurge, a jealously purchase (tailgating) and out of character for me. The real reason I bought it, is because my girlfriends daughter has dishTV, and it only cost $7.

00 (thats right) extra per month. She agreed to add my receiver, which was very sweet, but I digress. Right out of the box, it looked like quality stuff, easy to understand, and in about 5 mins, I had the antenna in my yard, and wally and television hooked up.

The user manual is easy to use, it set itself up and did updates quickly, I called the activation number, in about 25 minutes I was watching crystal clear HD TV on my porch. I was so worried it was gonna be a tech nightmare, but it wasnt.

To curb my suspicion, I packed it all up, set it back up again, and in about 10 mins, I was watching TV again. Great product, and highly recommended. Our uses will be for our camper, and tailgating.

When I first received the bundle, I attempted to hook it up to my travel trailer. I have a new trailer with a pre- wired satellite port next to my TV/CABLE port. I hooked it up and the wally did not power the satellite, however when I connected the coax cable directly to the wally it worked.

I then viewed all the YouTube videos showing re-wiring the trailer cable/tv wires. I called my dealer, RV SPA, and they said it should be as easy as connecting the satellite coax to the outside SAT port.

Well, I hope this helps you if you run across the same issue, the answer my outside Cable/ TV and SATELLITE ports were mark incorrectly on the outside. I opened the inside switch plate and it had a black dedicated coax cable while the TV/CABLE had an orange and yellow coax cable.

I opened up the out side ports and the colors did not match the inside, but reversed. I then plugged the satellite coax to the TV/CABLE port outside and BINGO it worked.

We went from an auto satellite finder on the roof of our RV to this one, and we prefer it. It can be placed away from trees to get a signal, and it usually does find it. We use it with a Dish Wally, and the only downside is how it finds satellites is a mystery, it either finds them or it doesn’t, there’s no way to see what kind of satellite signal is coming in like we used to do on our other dish DVR’s; either we get TV or we don’t, and we’re not sure which direction to move it for a stronger signal.

Perhaps we have more to learn. Despite being very lightweight its shape makes it withstand high winds (I don’t guarantee that, it’s just our experience). Also it sheds water nicely; previous dome Dishes wouldn’t work in the rain.

We put it on 4 plastic leveler blocks to keep it out of dirt/mud/puddles. It has a loop to put a cable through, and we always keep it locked up. Make sure to get as long of a cable as you can find, since you may have to put it away from your rig to get a signal and still have it locked.

I was very skeptical at first until it arrived. All pieces are very sturdy. I set it up in my back yard, copied the settings from the Dish connected to my house. Played with the tuner until I was comfortable with it and BAM.

I went inside and to my surprise the TV was displaying Law and Order. Crisp clear screen, great sound. Take the time to watch a few(MANY) videos on youtube on tuning your dish. There was not any instructions on how the wires are connected.

So here it is. The short 5′ cable goes to the LNB. That’s the doohicky that connects to the end of the arm, facing the dish. You will connect the SWM(Splitter) between the 5′ cable and the long cable to the power inserter which has two cable connections.

It’s pretty obvious the LNB port is for the long run to the dish, the other marked Signal to IRD goes to the receiver(big box that direcTV rents to you on a monthly basis). It’s that simple. Tuning it on the other hand takes an understanding of how the satellites are aligned in the sky and patience with the tuner.

ONE BIT OF ADIVCE: Make sure the tripod is PERFECTLY straight up and down (PLUMB) using the level. If not you will have trouble tuning the dish.

The only problem that I had with setting up the dish was aligning to the satellite. The bubble level that goes in the top of the mast is of little use. I had the bubble in the middle but when I stepped back and looked at it I could see that the mast was not plumb.

Rechecked and the bubble still in the middle. I used a small carpenter level to plumb it up. After that it was pretty easy to get set up and aligned using the signal meter from the receiver that is shown on the TV.

I can say that it would be somewhat better if this package included an external signal meter for SWM set up. In using the receiver signal meter it does take some running back and forth to get the peak signal adjusted.

By the way, this is intended to be constructive criticism and just so you know, I still would recommend this package for people that are interested in setting one up themselves.

Dish and LNB were fine but tripod was a bit disappointing. The mast pole is sized for old and new size dish mounts which meant it does not seat well in tripod making adjustment and alignment difficult which made it difficult to align dish to get signal.

Tried for 2 hours on weekend outing to get signal no results. Plan on Improvising by mounting dish on a 2″ pole to confirm LNB is working, then switching out package pole with my 2″ pole cut down to mast size hope to try it with tripod to fix issues before going mobile again.

The Wally receiver came as advertised with the remote. Very well protected. Contacted DISH network for activation of the receive and hardrive. The picture was better than my DirectTV i replaced it in my RV.

Just an extra $7 per month to get all the channels I get thru my Hopper3. Able to ad the DVR to the unit, makes it just as nice as being home, recording my favorite programs while mobile.

I like the Wally but this is the second one I’ve purchased in the last year because the first one quit working. Granted these Wally’s are used in a RV so they get bounced around when traveling down the road.

The remote for the Wally is the same as the remote for our Dish Hopper which is really nice. I purchased a WiFi adapter for the Wally which gives you options you don’t have without WiFi. I have found with all Dish receivers used in RV’s loss the satellite signal which may be because the Portable RV Dish.

Purchased as a second Wally to be used with a King Tailgater Pro on an RV bedroom/second TV. Been working with it for a couple of months now and while it is very capable as a second tv Wally on the tailgater system (within the limitations of needing to be on the same satellite as the primary unit is viewing), the boot-up function is very inconsistent.

Sometimes it works fine right away, sometimes it takes up to 1/2 hour worth of reboots befor you can watch TV (without changing anything else in the system). Once it boots up, it’s fine for the rest of the night.

Next day you just need to plan in advance to get it up and running again.

No more tedious setup, just set it down, activate the receiver and then enjoy your tv time as if you were home. Also portability makes it transferable from one location to another. Tree in the way? Just move the antenna to better reception,not your whole RV.

We use this for camping. I had a semi automatic winegard anser that required me to set the elevation. This is so much easier and is half the size and 1/3 the weight. Move to a south facing clear area, hook up the coax and it finds the 101 Directv satelite within a minute.

The signal strength was only about 85% but the picture was clear.

Bought this unit to replace older sat dish. Works good as long as you still have clear view off southern sky. Try to pick camping spot with clear view, no tree’s or ect to block view, and it will set up pertty fast.

I like the antenna, but if it breaks, you’re left out in the cold. The antenna has a 5 year warranty, but the serial number needed for the warranty is located in a plate inside the antenna where you cannot get to it.

Devious way for a company to avoid warranty work. Most companies put the serial number plate where it’s easy to find. But not winguard they require you to completely remove the dish from the coach in order to provide it to the warranty folks.

Very devious.

The best thing about this unit is it is “just like home” and you can use a Hopper on the road! And it is ultra-convenient, so when stopped for lunch or dinner, it is easy to pop up the dish and be watching TV.

I have been impressed at how well this works and how infrequently I’ve been blocked by trees. (I’m trying to attach a picture where I am NOT blocked by a tree where I thought for sure that I would be!) In fact, I’ve had full reception in almost every campground I’ve been in — even those where it seems like a tree or two might be directly in the way.

The main reason I was worried about getting one of these units is because of trees, and thankfully this has not been an issue for me at all (and I camp for a few months a year in a National Forest!).

In fact, I can’t even tell you off the top of my head how this unit behaves not able to lock onto one or more satellites. When wiring my system up, I provided for the addition of a Tailgater type unit that could be set out clear of trees in case of being blocked but have not needed to go that route.

So if you are worried that this unit will encounter tree blockages, don’t sweat it too much. There are a couple of reasons why. For one, the dish is actually pointing much higher in the sky than you might think by looking at it.

Keep in mind that the signal is coming in from the top of the dish and then bouncing off the middle/center and back out, downward to the LNB receivers. It is easy to believe that the dish is pointing in the direction of the arm, but that isn’t the case.

It is “pointing” much higher up. Another thing is that the TRAV’LER has a MUCH larger dish than the portable Tailgater type units so it can pull in a much weaker signal. It is much more tolerant of partial blockages and maybe some foliage in the path.

Further, the Trav’ler will move around to optimize your signal as best as it can, as if you were towing around a Dish installer with you to every campsite! The display on the control box calls this “peaking” the signal.

Finally, since this unit picks up three satellites, you will likely still be able to get programming on most of your channels from an alternate satellite if one is blocked. DISH usually puts HD channels on one satellite and SD versions on another.

So if you can’t get one, your receiver will auto-tune to the other version. Sadly, this doesn’t always work completely seamlessly and my Hopper does get a bit grumpy in those cases. This is similar to what you might experience when rain or other weather interferes with your signal.

The Hopper/Dish is more to blame for the clunky nature, rather than the Trav’ler unit.

You really need to get an expert to install this and get it set up right. Not someone from a RV dealer or Directv or Dish. An RV Satellite TV tech thats an authorized retailer for Dish & DTV. Then you need to be educated on where the satellite’s are in the sky.

A good app like satellite pointer will show you this. Let me tell you pulling your RV up or back 5 ft may get you out of a tree. Then just turn the control box on and it locates the satellite’s. You can even get the eastern arch for Dish with it.

Hook up your geni or hopper dvr and your good to go. I have been installing this system for years if you have any questions I have the answers.

Works great right outside your camper or RV buy if you have to move it out farther to get good view of southern sky it s useless. I need the older version Satellite Antenna that has a AC/DC power to it.

This may or may not be the ideal LNB for your DirecTV Slimline dish; it depends on the area where you live. I had the SL5 LNB for years in my Los Angeles-area home and it worked fine until many months ago when the on-screen Guide would no longer update regularly.

I did some research and found that when you use a SL5 LNB your receiver will use a satellite other than the “Big Three” (99; 101;103) for Guide data. Switching to the SL3 solved the problem; and I still receive all channels properly.

Works good but is not the unit that is pictured. The picture shows clear plastic cap which is what DirecTv puts on now. The one I got has a white cap and is an old model. I expected to get the one that is pictured.

Not too happy. There must be a good reason why DirecTv switched to a clear lens cap. I would appreciate a response as to why I did not get the one that is pictured.

the SWM setup was giving me trouble constantly. Always cutting out, with the only solution being to unplug the system, let it sit, and plug it back in. Enough of that. We replaced the old LMB with this one, which does not need a SWM box.

Done. Works. Happy.

Worked perfectly. Suggest setting up in your backyard 1st and get familiar with setup. Set it up completely in your back yard so that you are able to watch directv on your tv. This will guarantee that your entire setup is working correctly.

Once this is accomplishef you are ready to set it up when needed.

I carefully unpacked the box and found that this would be a great temporary setup for RV’s. It also came with a Reverse LNB. (Perfect). Easy to setup. Thanks for everything.

Brought my cable box to boat, simple 1, 2, 3 instructions. Connected, and now enjoying TV. For the price it was a no brainer, especially with costs from other competitors that cost more. Very satisfied, thank you!.

This thing is awesome. Took it our the box and within 5 minutes I had directv on my RV. As long as you have a working directv box everything needed to get this working is included.

We recently lost our 12 year old King Dome 9630 to a severe hail storm. I was surprised to learn that Tailgater was the only option I had to replace it but whet ahead and ordered one anyway. I was already with DISH on their start and stop RV service and had the correct receiver and cabling in place.

Swap-out couldn’t have been easier. We removed the remnants of the old system. , sealed the old mounting holes, mounted the new unit to the roof with four screws, and attached the old coax. Time on the roof was less than 30 minutes.

Setup was a breeze compared to my old system. After choosing the area of the country we were in, all I had to do is let the system “do its thing” and set itself up. Couldn’t have been easier. My old system could only look at one satellite at a time.

The new system looks at all three DISH satellites. What a deal!.

This is the second Wally we have added to our camper for the bedroom TV. It works fine but only gets the same satellite channels that are viewed on the main Wally in the living room. Both are hooked to the Tailgater II.

Also, you must leave the living room TV on or your bedroom Wally will go off after a short time.

Took a while to activate with Dishnet, but really worked well. If you would like to have DVR like features, pause, fast forward and rewind you will also need an external hard disk. This is the one I use and it works well.

So far we’re not impressed with this product. We purchased this product a little over a month ago, it’s worked properly once since the purchase. Since then, I get constant error message, channel signal lost, etc.

Like the last review, Dish directs you to the manufacturer and the manufacturer point the finger back at Dish. Bottom line, I have wasted hours trying to figure this thing out and it won’t work!.

It does have a great picture. it is small- compact and does a good job with the remote working in RF, not line of sight. I haven’t been able to get anyone to answer any of my questions yet as to why it takes 20 minutes to give me any picture after any power off event.

I’m using this with a playmaker auto sattelite dish that is noisey when it is “looking” for sattelites, (roof mounted in my RV) It seems to have to move the dish when the wally goes to “sleep or standby” generally in the middle of the night.

I dont seem to be able to make it not randomly re search for sattelirtes when every one is asleep. my old reciever only took about 7 to 10 minutes to lock and work. This was supposed to be the “new and fasted one so far” Well, Not for me so far.

Not sure if it has been worth it so far , would like to get some tech. help!.

Dish Outdoors aka pace international, is a horrible company, rude customer service, unwilling to help. Buyer beware getting a dual antenna, BOTH TVs have to be on the same channel but they don’t tell you this.

One of the worst experiences trying to do a return with this company.

For three legs and additional bolts, the price is stupid high. If you can manufacture your own parts, I suggest you do that. It did come with a power switch but why not just plug it in when you need it? For what you get, the price should be no more than $15.

Worked really well and are heavy duty. Nice use switch is not compatible with the new models

Ausser den kathreineigenen Geräten ist der Megasat HD 350 tatsächlich das erste Gerät aus dem unterem Preissegment (<50 Euro), welches hier funktioniert, ohne die Satanlage lahmzulegen.

Trotzdem kenne ich keine elegantere Lsung. Anbringung ist fr den Laien machbar, der Empfang des Astra-Satelliten ist dem mit einer greren Schssel vergleichbar. Einzig bei starkem Regen kann es kurzzeitige Ausflle geben.

Trotz aller Einschrnkungen sehr empfehlenswert.

pas de souci avec le vent ou le mauvais temps. Pas très encombrante ce qui est un plus pour le transport sur le toit , la prise au vent limitée et le positionnement sur un mat déjà bien occupé. C’est dommage qu’il n’y ait pas un système de rotation interne pour le LNB intégré car contrairement à ce que l’on voit sur les photos habituellement elle peut se trouver placée en diagonale suite au réglage d’inclinaison mais ce n’est que pure esthétique.

Enfin dommage qu’il ne soit pas livré avec un manchon d’étanchéité pour la prise du câble (à prévoir pour les futurs acheteurs).

We initially bought the smaller version for the kitchen which was faulty. John Lewis’s service was excellent in arranging a replacement, when we opted for a bigger screen. The product is neat and appears well built but the picture quality is not great despite a number of attempts to adjust it.

The sound was very tinny so we had to buy a small soundbar. The unit can be operated from a 12/24v supply but we are unlikely to use that facility. Overall it’s a nice size and design for our kitchen but an expensive option given the quality of the picture and sound.

Needed to replace our ancient Veltech TV, after many, many years of great pictures etc. Boy, have they moved on! Loving the ease of setup of the Avtex, we get the full 24” screen, and it has many features I’m yet to discover.

Great I can watch one channel &record another with the free USB stick too.

Love this TV as it is a great size, quality picture & has all the functions we require. Can get live pause, record & use DVD as well within the one device (as long as you have a USB stick). This is great for traveling in the caravan as only need the one device & keeps weight to a minimum.

Only recommendation is to get a sound bar as the sound is like most modern TV’s, very tinny.
