I needed sand paper when I need to smooth some edges of pottery that I’m making. Michaels has so many products and as I was walking around, I saw the sand paper and purchased it. 3M is a great company with a great reputation.

I’ve been sending a lot of my wood furniture to repaint them so that they all match. This particular sandpaper is definitely better for smaller projects and not bigger ones like the ones that I’ve been taking on lol but still very good quality.

He is selling this as micromesh it is nothing more than wet dry sandpaper. Very misleading.

Its sandpaper. It does exactly what I needed, which is sand things. It didn’t do anything unexpected, like paint my walls or remove my lightbulbs.

I have been using a variety of sand papers for knifemaking and general metal working for many years. Mostly aluminum oxide and silicon carbide. When challenged with finishing hardened stainless steel, most sand papers fall down miserably.

Norton’s Black Ice, Indasa Rhynowet, Gator, Sia all work, but don’t last long against Rockwell 62C hardened steel with loads of chromium in it. The 3M Pro Grade product (purple sheets) are the ones that I have found to work the longest and make the least work of hand finishing.

To extend the life a little, add a squirt of a whetting agent such as windex.

I’ve tried different brands and types of abbrassive sandpapers for the last 12 years on a regular basis and the ones made by 3M, although slightly more costly, last a lot longer and do a much better job.

Great paper with good level of coarseness. Just enough grit to rub one out and get a good finish. Flexible paper contours around those odd shapes. Lasts longer than the cheap stuff.

If you are tired of wimpy sandpaper that crumples like newspaper, then you need to start using these. Very high quality backing, that allows you to grip it. I have standardized on these, and store them in folders in a filing cabinet by grit.

Good grit when it starts sanding, but the grit quickly builds up and clogged solid from melted hot paint on the pad. They are cheap enough so that you can just keep throwing them away, but you only get a few minutes of sanding time before they’re all clogged up, and useless.

If you have several hours of sanding work, then you’ll need to use 100s of these pads. They just don’t last long.

sands well but the backing use to hold the pad on the tool tears off too easily just like most of the others, I have used these for several years many different brands but all have the same design flaw and once it tears it starts to plug up the backer accessory.

They do save a lot of time over hand sanding and can sand in tight places.

These sanding pads are like ammo, you never have enough of them. A six-pack or two is quite handy as you head out to the jobsite. They are quite durable for their size. Great for getting into tight places to smooth out rough patches.

Sandpaper is much heavier and longer lasting than the normal sandpaper bought elsewhere. It makes working with the Festool sanders a breeze. The tools dust extraction system coupled with the paper streamlines the sanding process more than I imagined.

I don’t have to clean the paper and/or change it constantly. It keeps me working when I’d otherwise be changing out the paper. A great time saver and the extended period of time the paper lasts more than offsets any cost difference.

This sandpaper when used with HSK-A provide an excellent job for working in an area when a dust environment is an issue.

The reason I’ve marked value for money down is because after placing the order I realised that I could have made savings for purchasing in bulk e. g. buy 50 or 100 rather than packs of 10. I wish FFX’s website would suggest all buying options for the same product.

This product is much better than standard sandpapers. It retains it’s cutting power far longer and with the hook and loop attachment, it cleans much easier than other products. The assortment pack provides all common possible sanding needs in one pack.

Additionally, since it outlasts, and stays much cleaner than other brands, it is a great value for a great product.

I purchased this product to use on my sander on 14 August 2022 and wasted my entire evening fixing it to sander. This paper just tears away in few seconds. I am sad that we depend so much on Home depot and they are carrying such useless products.

This stuff lasts so much longer than traditional paper. I like to wrap small pieces of it around a block for sanding small detailed areas. We will continue to use this stuff.

Bought sander pack with sander – looks the same as the one supplied with the machine – and that is wearing well – so predict a good purchase.

Haven’t used these yet but they seem to be good quality.

It’s good stuff. I have gone back to wet sanding. I use the 400 grit for sanding between clear coats and the 1200 for a final go-over followed by a polish containing pumice. The results look great! In wet sanding, the sandpapers last longer because they don’t get jammed up with the tiny clear coat particles.

I needed to restore an old plane that I bought at an antique store and it worked great. It removed rust spots and polished the metal to like new. Very pleased with the various abrasives so that you can get to a mirror like finish.

Cuts like a buzzsaw and lasts longer than other sandpaper. Sad to see a reduced selection in my store. I go out of my was to go to Rockler for Norton sandpaper now you have a big selection of big box brands.

Why?.

I’ve already gone through 3 of these in just 2 months with minimal use of the drum sander. The one pictured I put on 1 day ago and its already ripped to shreds after about 45 minutes of use.

Fits well and sands well. I personally like the precut as I don’t change it a lot.

I stopped grumbling about the price of genuine Fein stuff a while back. FFX have the best price and service for Fein supplies. There is no alternative to buying genuine Fein stuff. I have tried the rest and, except for Bosch, they are all disappointing.

These are great.

I have a Fein Multi-tool because, simply, they are the best still & outclass their competitors. The same goes for the accessories (blades/sanding and so on). It is my ‘go to’ power tool of choice and I find the branded blades/sandpapers far superior to cheaper versions.

Well even though I got 2 questions answered before I bought, it’s still a disappointment. These triangular pads do NOT look like the photo shown. They do NOT have this shape. Furthermore, the pads are significantly SMALLER than my standard DeWault oscillating tool pad.

When overlaying a Fein over DeWault, aligning one corner of the triangle shows the opposing side about 1/2″ short of the DeWault pad. Disappointing to say the least !!!.

Sometimes, the best ability is availability. No one else had this grit. The sheets held up just fine. They perhaps clog a bit faster than top price competitors but–hey!–they are available. By the way, don’t stop at 220 grit when applying poly.

Work your way up to 600-grit, at least.

Used this product to buff out a wood table as part of a “wet sand” process, and it worked well. Have to be careful not to think it will render the same immediate effect as regular dry sandpaper – it will not.

Lots of passes, lots of water carefully applied. But well worth it.

I don’t have anything to compare to in terms of performance and being good or bad. Personally, I would have chose a different grade, because, eventually it did work to smooth out the rough paint on the cladding of my van.

But, it would have went easier if I would have chosen it lower number grade.

Ordered this pack of sandpaper because I was in a financial bind at the time I was trying to finish up a project. Opted for this pack and another from Walmart based solely on price and reviews. This pack by far exceeded my standards.

I was half expecting to get a package of a lot of the same grit paper, but these have tons of obvious variations compared to the Walmart pack which was all seemingly 220. (Supposed to have 4 different grits) This pack also had every grit I needed and then some for me to finish my project and have extras.

Doesn’t clean off as well as 3M paper so it does get used up quicker, but at this price, you can’t go wrong.

It easily deintegrates in your hands, it’s cheap and that’s how it works, the grain is of a good quality but the paper is of bad quality that doesn’t last.

I have yet to use the paper on anything but it looks very good quality considering the price compared to large name brands like 3M. Ordered in the morning and came the next day. Very impressed!

Used these to remove imperfections after removing old paint and prior to repainting. Did the job superbly.

When in the can it did look a very dark colour but once on has come up beautifully. Really pleased with the quality!

3M 413Q; You kind of want to call it “sandpaper,” but there is no gritty feel at all. I use it for surfacing plastic models and for edging my finger nails for guitar. A beautifully effective abrasive for a fine finish!.

Box shows 50 sheets, part number 3M 2002 is for a 50 pack and only one sheet of sand paper was shipped at 10x retail pricing. Discription on web site is “3M 2002 Wetordry Tri-M-ite Sheet 9 in. x 11 in.

400A ” which is a 50 pack. Same thing happended with 320 grit but that discription indicated a 50 pack in the discription. “3M 2004 Wetordry Tri-M-ite Sheet 9 in. x 11 in. 320A (50-Pack)” Still got one sheet at 10x retail pricing.

Would be nice if the paper was a little thicker , Does not wet sand well .

have had trouble with sandpaper for a long time flying off the random orbit 2 passes and they become hand sanders. Norton has always been may choice but not carried for years. saw they were at Rockler and tried them one half pass on a 2 foot run and flew off.

It was on my third pad and cannot figure it out. Will be purchasing another pad to test and hoping for the best.

These disc’s have dozens of tiny holes with a big hole in the middle. The small holes are not effective in collecting dust and the big hole in the middle left my velcro pad exposed and melted it. I’ve got to contact Makita for a replacement.

I would wait and buy the disc’s that have holes that line up with the holes on your sander. These aren’t a good value given the trouble.

I bought these specifically for the Norton brand. Have had good experience with their abrasion products in the past. The heavy grit is holding up well but the adhesion on the sanding disc is VERY poor.

In fact, one of the discs came off the platter at high speed and flew into my (prescription) safety glasses, leaving deep scratches in the lens which will cost ~140$ to replace. So, if you decide to buy, recommend cleaning the platter with alcohol or some other solvent and applying spray adhesive to secure the disc to your sander to prevent injury to you or others in your shop.

I experimented with these to grind on H-13 steel with a 90 degree die grinder ( 25,000rpm ). The performance of it is awesome. As the disc pad wore, it would still continue to cut and show minimal wear.

As heat build up, the adhesive backing showed no signs of peeling off. Even at high heat when finished, leaves no sticky residue on the holding pad in my grinder. The adhesive is phenominal. Works perfect for what finish I was looking for.

I’m a professional wood worker and use various types of sand paper almost daily, both on the lathe and for my pneumatic random orbital sanders. I’ve used a number of Norton’s sandpaper products ranging from sanding discs to sanding sheets in assorted grains because Rockler personnel recommend it in their store.

Unfortunately, my experience with Norton products has not been that impressive regarding life expectancy or clogging. Norton is certainly better than discount sandpaper found at most building supply centers.

Abranet sanding sheets and discs are highly regarded, especially since they can be washed and reused, however; that concept is overrated and has limitations. The best sandpaper I’ve used thus far has been made by Klingspore.

It has a superior life expectancy, rapidly removes material and rarely clogs.

Several years ago I discovered Norton 3X sandpaper. It’s all I have used since. Sort of. At one point they changed the name to Prosand. Also the color changed. But it seemed to still work almost as well.

Recently it was time to re-order. Some places are still claiming to sell 3X, others say Prosand. But when it arrived it was neither. Now apparently it’s called Norton Premium, and the color’s different again.

I guess it still works as well as it used to.

it is the best sandpaper i have ever used, it never clogs and feels that it is always cutting as if it was new, i worked as a machine repairman for 35 years and am familiar with norton products especially grinding wheels.

so as far as i am concerned, one has to go a long way to beat norton products. great selection on your choice. I enjoy effortless sanding. Happy to comment on a great product Sincerely; Mr. Bowers.

The red aluminum oxide diablo ones last so much longer than the normal name brand ones its hard to believe. They dont load up and I often still use them for hand sanding after ive used them on the power sander.

I use Alex seal boat paint and cant sand for one minute before a standard one loads up and wont sand but the red ones sand for 30min easy and I only change them out because its faster with new abrasives.

But end up doing half my hand hand sanding with the used ones.

Excellent performance. I bought a new sander that had uses the hook and loop pads. I was a little skeptical, but was pleasantly surprised that the pads stayed in place without any shifting. The dust collection system I use seemed to help to extend the time I was able to use each pad.

The only time I had an issue was when I used the sander to strip some very old varnish. I t had gotten a little gummy so I doubt any sanding pad would have performed well. Other than that, I was impressed with these pads and I will be buying them again.

I tried these sanding disks with some cheap ones I got from somewhere else. I was trying to save my Diablo’s for a different job. After using 10 of the cheap disks to only finish about half the job in, I used just one Diablo to finish the rest of the project! Simply, the grit stays on the disk, and the disk stays on my sander! What else could you ask for.

I was also surprised at how well these disks dealt with sanding dirty wood. The swing set I was working on had been sitting in the dirt for 4 months, and these disks didn’t get gummed up when I had to sand the dirt off like the cheap ones did.
