20 Best Sandals For Sore Feet (2023 Updated)

TLDR: If your feet are not puffy, you will not enjoy walking around in these sandals. If your feet are puffy, these sandals will fit perfectly. The straps are not adjustable. \n\nI have a wide, size 9 foot.

I’m 5’7” and about 150 lbs (athletic build). My feet are neither puffy nor bony. \nThe footbed on these sandals are perfect in length and width. The arch support is perfect. \nBut as other reviewers have stated, the straps are too loose for a non-puffy-footed person.

If your feet are not puffy, your feet will slide completely out of the sandal as you’re walking – the straps make almost no contact with the top of your foot, they’re basically hovering about a 1/4-inch above the top of your foot as your standing.

\nWhile you’re walking, if they haven’t flown off your feet already, these flip-flops will slap really hard against the bottom of your foot (much harder than any other pair of flip-flops I’ve ever worn) when the straps eventually pull the footbeds toward your feet, because of the extra length of the straps – your feet are not snug in the sandal.

\nMy friend who also has size 9, wide, PUFFY feet (she’s about 250 lbs, not athletic, and has noticeably puffier feet) could NOT relate – she thought they were a perfect fit and the straps were a perfect looseness/tightness.

\nBottom line: the straps are too loose for most people (judging from the comments) and perfect for some.

I rarely write reviews, but I purchased the gold version of these sandals recently and I feel obliged to warn would-be purchasers that these are truly one of the most hideous pairs of shoes I have ever laid eyes on.

My expectations were not high, but from the photo, I thought they might pass as a somewhat neutral flip flop with better than average arch support – vionic shoes are usually not winning any awards for style but can be counted on for comfort.

I thought they would be suitable for vacations where you want to wear sandals but also walk further than a couple blocks. As soon as I opened the box, I couldn’t help but giggle at just how ugly this pair of shoes is (at least in the gold version), very reminiscent of the thick sneakers my elderly eastern European mother-in-law wears, but some how worse? Anyway, if you are tempted by the photo I can assure you there are better options out there.

Not the same shoe, not as supportive, slips on wet surfaces, too thick. Too soft and falls apart. It’s a shame, use to be the best, but now its worse then the rest. I get you are trying to cut corners and make money.

Thats the post covid way. But at least still offer the original at a higher price. After all its the original that actually does what you say it does for support. The new ones are a complete fabrication one step above junk.

This was the absolute best sandal made with fantastic arch and total foot support that was also very long lasting with a rubber out sole. The strap and upper are still fantastic, but Spenco replaced the long lasting rubber sole with the same soft material that used to be the mid sole.

Now this sandal wears out quickly and has much poorer traction. Please Bring back the original and charge more for the original.

This is one of the first pairs of flip-flops I’ve ever bought that are actually wide enough for my feet – both the footbed and the straps, so my feet don’t hang over the side and the straps don’t pinch.

The shape of the footbed is very supportive and comfortable. My only quibble is I wish the straps were a slightly softer material; they’re a bit rough on my feet, especially the toe strap. The sole is pretty hard and might be slippery on some surfaces, but it looks like it will wear well.

These aren’t the soft, cushy type of flip-flops; these are ones that will actually support you when walking.

I thought these would be the answer to my problems. Had foot surgery and cannot wear heels and have many “special” functions coming up and thought these would do the trick. They are one of the prettiest “dressy” sandals I have ever seen.

Was so happy that Vionic was making dressier, in style, sandals. However, I could not get my feet into them. There’s absolutely no give in the leather strap at all. Had no problem with the glitter strap.

Vionic, I had the same problem with the Hadlie (as many other people did) with the stationary straps not moving at all. Vionic, please, please, please, rectify this! I’m so upset that I cannot wear these.

I purchased them in black, white/silver, and gold. I love the look and they deserve five stars for that, but adjusted the rating for overall.

Hi, without seeing the image I ordered the gold sandals and they are beautiful. I am a size 6, ordered a 6 and they fit perfect. Wasn’t quite sure what to expect. The gold colour is not brassy and the design of the sandal is slimline, looks very trendy but the Vionic technology is definitely present.

Although a flat sole my arch is lifted, as is often demonstrated by Keith and the models. So far have only worn indoors and they feel very comfortable. I have rheumatoid arthritis in my feet and a slightly higher instep on one foot.

I have experienced no problems with the straps or toe post cutting into my feet and the balls of my feet seem to be supported, actually don’t want to take them off. Thank you Keith for bringing these to QVC, more of this style please.

I normally cannot wear flats—no arch support and my slightly wide feet never fit into those dainty little things. These fit. Those reviewers with narrow feet are right—this is a slightly wider than average footbed, which makes it perfect for me.

If I could change one thing, I would add a tiny bit of stretch/elastic to the rear-most band to ease the break-in period. (Note that Vionic always recommends a break-in period to get used to the arch.

). I suspect they did not to make sure the shoes don’t slap on your feet like flip flops. Oh, they are really cute in person!.

Love all the sandals with the Rest bottom. Been asking Liam for years to make an edgy bootie on the rest bottom, but it hasn’t happened yet. The shoe sole returns energy to my legs and knees, where as no other shoe I own does the same.

Keep making the black on black sole t-strap. Please make other t staps sandals on a dark bottom ( I dislike immensely a light shoe sole staring up at me). And how about a fashion sneaker on a rest bottom, like a bowling shoe style? Come on Vionic, gets some creative designers on it!! Lol.

Sandal has great style and comfort. I received the sandal and did not realize that the buckle was just for design and that that shoe is open and closed by velcro. I have had the sandal for about 4 months and wear them maybe twice a week.

The buckle on one of the shoes broke and at that time realized it was just plastic. Secondly, the velcro does not adhere properly and will open. Disappointed because I have always associated Vionic with comfort, design and quality.

Hoping this one was just defective.

These shoes are comfortable, but for the price, Vionic could have come up with something better than velcro to secure them. It is my first time wearing them and I have had to reclose the strap twice this morning.

I will keep them as they will be comfortable for when I have to stand on my feet for long periods, but they are not conducive to walking because the straps come undone. I can only imagine what it will be like after a few months of wearing them.

If it wasn’t a pain, I would return them, but I will keep them and utilize them as much as I can.

As I get older my feet hurt and my go-to shoes no longer work for me. I never order shoes on line, but these shoes looked promising and the return policy was good, so I took a chance. They are true to size and incredibly comfortable.

They are also attractive and I have gotten many compliments. I plan to order other shoes from OrthoFeet, confident that they will fit.

Love them! Bought 2nd pair – black and camel. Great product and a good value. Well made and super comfy. Compare very favorably to more expensive ortho sandals I have purchased in the past. They do run a little small, but buying the next size up on the 2nd pair proved a mistake.

Had to exchange the 2nd pair for the smaller size. If you take a half size, you are better off going to the next lower size down. Will definitely buy again.

YES!!! Finally a sandal with a thicker sole! My previous Oohlala sandals would pack down on the soles so quickly that I was going thru multiple pairs a year. I suffer from heel spurs and plantar fasciitis.

Oofos sandals have basically changed my life. I walked around on the side of my feet for a year and a half and tried every treatment imaginable. Nothing worked!!! The first pair of Oofos sandals I tried on, instantly took the pressure off my heel spurs and within 2 days, I had no more plantar fasciitis pain.

It felt like a miracle. I have basically lived in them for the past three years. This is not a fake review. I am an actual costumer and I would recommend these sandals to anyone suffering from heel spurs, plantar fasciitis or both.

They are worth their weight in gold!.

These wouldn’t work for me and I mailed them back today for a refund. They are too loose! They are made for men’s feet, not women’s feet, and were so floppy they didn’t feel safe to walk in. I even tried wrapping quite a bit of padding around the two side straps, but I just couldn’t get a tight enough fit.

You correctly warn the female buyer to get a size smaller than usual, since they’re men’s shoes. I did that, and the length was fine, but the straps were meant for a “thicker” foot than mine.

I have problems with the balls of my feet and have to have special made insoles inserts in my shoes. But when I am home I virtually live in these sandals which we used to call thongs. My feet are very sensitive to the actual shape of the thong (sandal), and this product is about the only one I’ve found that keep the balls of my feet comfortable and happy.

I’m in them always when I’m at home. The only complaint I have with them, is that the nylon webbing is not constructed durably, they wear out and break between the toes. That part of the thong wears out in about a years’ use for me.

But I keep buying them, because they are the best product I have been able to find for my problem. Fortunately Hammacher Schlemmer informed me that they would replace any defective pair. Thus far, they have replaced one pair, and I just sent them another pair for replacement.

I have purchased several pairs, for back-up. And I even have a larger size pair to wear outside because they are more protective of things that might stick me because of their size. I absolutely love these; if only the nylon was much more durable.

These sandals run very large/long. Apparently this sandal does not come in a size that will fit me. According to the size chart, I ordered the correct size. I also bought a different style that fits great.

I will be returning the “Planter Fasciitis Orthotic” sandals. I think vendor should pay for return shipping because the sizes are not accurate. I bought sandals from another source that used the same sizing (converting a men’s size to a women’s size” and they fit perfectly.

I am not happy with the situation and probably will not buy from this source again.

This is my first Vionic purchase and I am very pleased with these sandals. I was very hesitant to order a pair of flip flops for $80, but I thought they were so cute that I decided to give them a try.

I ordered the Rose Gold in a Size 9. I am usually a 9. 5 in sneakers and boots, but I can size down in flip flops and sandals. These fit me perfectly. The foot bed is unlike any other sandal/flip flop I own.

The bottoms of my feet feel so good when wearing these. There was no adjustment period. I put them on and walked around the house without any issues. They are so comfortable that they almost feel like I’m wearing a sneaker (the grip and support are that good).

I have been wearing them everywhere for the last week and I really like them. The only complaint I have is that the foot bed gets dirty and can’t really be cleaned. I put them on with clean feet, but walking around in the backyard or in the elements can cause the foot bed to get dirty since the color is very light They aren’t easy to clean because they are made of some kind of material that isn’t the usual flip flop material that can easily rinsed off.

Either way, they are great and I’m happy I bought them.

I have worn Vionic for years. I wear a 9. 5 m or W if the shoe is narrow. This shoe runs between a B & C width. I ordered M and it is fine. I have a high arch and great support. The straps seem loosely made which is fine, but if they stretch they won’t be comfortable.

I needed the orange as shown online and on air. When I received them, (Fiesta), they were neon and brighter than a construction cone. Cute, but not if your matching and outfit. The grosgrain ribbon is flexible, however rubs against the skin and hurts from abrasion.

It is also a bit wide for between toes. I feel they get more comfortable with wear, however foot pain is possible if they slip around. Each foot is different and if the padding or width on your foot works with these, then they are great, you have to try to know.

Order true to size. These are cute and can be worn a little dressy or casual. It would be nice to see a recorded video with the colors and not a video with snapshots of colors online. I also would appreciate it if in general the hosts or guests can be detailed about sizing and the models sizes.

Pricey in my opinion. I try them around the house before deciding, even though the color is defective or not disclosed correctly, before deciding if I will keep them.

I have Plantar Fasciitis, These shoes are working wonders for my feet. Within an hour of wearing them I felt better. I felt my back was not tired, I felt like I was standing better with the shoes on.

With my Plantar Fasciitis I was in pain and not walking well. I could feel pain in my knees and hips and then of course in my back. I had to do something. I had heard Vionic shoes were good but did not know if they would be comfortable with my current foot problems.

I kept buying shoes that said they were designed for people with PF. None of those gave relief. I am on my feet all day and the comfort and fit is wonderful. I am here today to write a review and look for another pair I can wear as an everyday summer shoe.

I bought the wide size nine. I was afraid the thong part would rub against my toe. I am happy to say they fit well and no rub. I think I could have sized down to 8. 5 wide. The arch support is there and hits just perfect on my foot.

The thong is made of fabric and not plastic. (think shoe lace) The thong part comes back on the side of my foot far enough to add support when I walk. Another fear I had was that I was just going to flop out of the shoe.

I normally do not wear flip flop type of shoe but with the pain and swelling I have I thought this would be a good place to start. I also chose to divide my payment up into easy pay. This would work better for my budget.

I am overall pleased and I would recommend these shoes. QCV makes it easy to order and return so I am out nothing. Happy !.

Please know that this is NOT a paid or sponsored review – it is mine and relative to my experience wearing my first pair of Archies. I spent a lot of time and lots of $$$$ buying name-brand flip-flops and summer sandals, none of which helped me as much as these do.

I was unable to stand for more than a few minutes at a time, had pain radiating down one leg, have bad knees. too much to put here, but these gave me back mobility and the ability to stand and be comfortable for more than a few minutes for the first time in several years.

The ability to stretch the straps also works so well as my feet are medium-width and swell a lot. the Archies have never felt like they’re strangling my feet! And when the swelling goes down, they are not too loose! Don’t know how it works, but it does! I also bought a pair for my daughter – she has slender feet – and they fit her well and provide much-needed support.

As their advertising shows, these do have a medium height, firm (NOT HARD) but flexible arch support; if you don’t do well with arch supports, they may not be for you. The feather weight of these, in addition to the strap placement, really does prevent my feet from struggling to keep them on.

No crimping toes to keep them from flying off! No strained/fatigued muscles and tendons on the top of my feet! I am currently of heavy build and have been wearing mine, EvErY DaY and ALL DAY for over a month, and there is absolutely NO sign of wear, no flattening of the sole, no change in flexibility, no cracks.

NoThInG! With that much use, you would also think they would be smelly, but nope! I wash them with my deodorant soap and water, dry them with a towel, and no smell! To Archies: PLEASE make insoles for shoes and/or different styles of shoes with this base as the sole.

It is so nice to be relatively pain-free and I definitely want more options! =).

I now own 6 pairs of Archies, the coral being my newest addition, & I can’t express enough how these have saved my feet and back since the first week I bought my 1st pair. It did take a little time to get used them but BELIEVE ME, it’s been so worth it! Now I can get them to form fit within a day or 2 bc I have basically mastered the gentle stretching of the straps & the more you wear them the better they feel & fit! I have a bad back & can’t stand/ walk too long due to arthritis but I am back to being active like I used to & in less overall pain bc my Archies are SO comfortable.

hey have the perfect cushioned & flexible footbed You must follow the directions on how to properly & GENTLY stretch the straps & toe piece for them to fit quicker than just wearing them in but I assure you it’s totally worth it just READ THE DIRECTIONS & be patient! You will want to buy 5+ more in all of your favorite colors like I did! I used to get so upset & miserable bc I love to cook & walk my dog for at least 15-20 min 2-3x a day & I just couldn’t as much bc my feet & back would hurt so bad but when I say these sandals are a lifesaver I MEAN IT & I am so grateful I gave these a chance! Also, it’s important to note that their customer service team is on point & attentive, I needed to return/exchange a pair & they were quick to respond & to me & I received my replacement quicker than expected.

I was diagnosed with Plantar Fasciitis almost three years ago. Since then, it has been a struggle to find sneakers that fit and helped relieve PF, which none did fully. Then, because of the firm structure of shoes for PF, I developed a bunion, which I had never had previously.

I was on to another unsuccessful search – looking for shoes for PF that wouldn’t cause even more bunion pressure/pain. No sneaker fit the bill, even those which my podiatrist and the specialized running store recommended for having both conditions — since they all had overlays in a place that pressed on the bunion.

So many shoes were bought and returned or quickly never worn! Then I saw an Archies ad, saw a neighbor wearing them, asked about them, and ordered a pair. I now slip off my expensive orthotic mesh sneakers the minute I get home from my daily walk, and wear the Archies the rest of the day/night.

I have arch support for PF and no pressure on the bunion. I now have three pairs. I took two pairs on a week long beach vacation and wore one pair for daily hour-long walks in the sand, and the other for out and about.

My feet never felt better. And the sandy ones cleaned up like new! Thank you!!.

My favorite flip-flops of all time! This is my fourth or fifth pair since 2013 when I first discovered Oofas. Great arch support and cushioning. In fact, I recently had a terribly painful case of plantar fasciitis, and my podiatrist recommends Oofas (more than one style) to put on first thing out of bed for around the house.

The only recommendation I have for the manufacturer to do is to make the tread more durable. Once the tread starts to wear, the shoes become dangerously slippery if you step in liquid on a hard smooth surface.

At that point, I have to buy new ones. They are expensive for flip flops, but worth it overall. I still give it a 5. True to size.

I recently replaced my Navy Jillian QS sandals. I also needed to replace my Stone Jillian QS sandals. Alas, Stone has been discontinued. I had to chose from Gunmetal or Bronze. I chose Gunmetal. These sandals are wearing just as great as all of my other Jillian QS sandals.

I have them in black and white also. I hope this style will not be tweaked, new and improved, or altered in any way. The shoe is comfortable from the very first wearing. I have worn either Navy or Stone in the summer every day for 5 or 6 years.

I very am satisfied with how long they have lasted. I still hope that Stone will be added back.

I think most people will love these, but my plantar fasciitis started to act up after years without any inkling of it after wearing these one short day. The arch is very squishy, which feels nice for comfort, but doesn’t support my moderate height arches the way my custom orthotics and Abeo sandals do.

I guess I have to return to the uglier Abeo because these just didn’t cut it for me. I have to send them back. I’m still giving them four stars because they are cute, appear well made and very soft under foot right out of the box, no break in period needed.

I really like the contour shape to the heel strap! Ingenuous.

I looked forever for a dressier walking sandal! Totally worth the $$$ Adjustable straps and the bonus on this pair are two things – a squishy footbed and a padded ankle strap in the back. No break in period! Perfect for travel and feet that need more support! I own Birkenstocks and Alegria for my bad feet.

I have inserts and I don’t need them here. I looked at the Joseph Siebels, that were highly rated , in store and there was no comparisons. Highly recommend and am going to buy more in this brand!.

So happy I finally purchased the PR soles! As an avid runner, I understand the importance of maintaining healthy feet with proper recovery, and these sandals truly feel like an instant foot massage. The pressure point soles provide relief after a long run or even after being on your feet all day.

I instantly noticed my legs didn’t feel as fatigued either and I usually run 6-10 miles daily. Awesome, quick recovery with this simple sandal. The adjustable strap is convenient and allows for extra space in the toe box which is a bonus.

Now, as far as fashion goes — a casual sandal with this sole would be wonderful since we know as runners it’s tough finding a comfortable sandal that meets the needs of maintaining healthy feet. Highly reccomend these sandals to anyone that may be experiencing tired, achy feet, fatigue or even back aches.

My boyfriend has a pair also and said his lower back pain went away within a couple of days also. His posture even improved. I would have to say I also noticed an improvement in posture, but we mainly wear the sandal as slippers in our home since we have wood floors and tile which is not so comfy bare foot.

First time with this particular PR Soles slide – so far, just what I expected following several years of wearing the ‘traditional’ / original PR Soles (non-adjustable) slides. I’ve worn them following many ultra’s & other trail races and essentially constantly around our home that is mainly hard surface floors.

While perhaps any quality slide would help with foot issues, I landed (no pun intended) on PR Soles and have been satisfied since.

These are wonderful so far (I’ve had them about two weeks)! I wore them after my 5K this past weekend and I do believe they cut down on the soreness I would normally experience. The foam insoles aren’t too tough for my tender feet either.

I would definitely recommend these to other runners for your post-run recovery.

Bought these after months/years with feet issues (metatarsal surgeries, metatarsalgia, arthritis @ left foot, resulting in a constantly painful foot). These are adjustable for my narrower & problematic foot and feel super shock absorbing to walk in.

My metatarsals love coming down stairs with these! My problem foot weight bears at the outer side of my foot & the Oofos is ‘trying’ to make the foot walk normally & shift weight load evenly, which is now causing more pain to that foot.

Long story short? These Sport Flex are awesome for someone without any major foot issues/surgeries, who want to relax & pamper their feet. My podiatrist had recommended these and I’m terribly disappointed that they work well for 1 foot & not the other.

Am beyond date of refund, so I’m stuck with them. But I wanted to share my experience with others who might think these might work well for a post repaired or problematic foot – know that they might cause more pain.

I love these shoes! I do a lot of walking in my job, and I’ve always struggled with back, ankle, and heel pain. I’ve tried other sandals before, and they never give me enough support. But these Julia leather wedges are wonderful! They are just the right length for my foot.

It cushions my heel and arches in all the right places, and the strap between my toes doesn’t hurt. I wore them one day to my job, and it was the first day that I came home without any pain! It was amazing.

I suspect I will always have a pair of Therafit shoes on my feet from now on!.

I wore these sandals two days in a row, all day long with NO HEEL PAIN. I can usually only wear flip flops a hour or two before It becomes painful. I am so happy with my purchase. The only complaint I had was the piece in between the big toe and second toe was very stiff.

That part was slightly painful the first couple of times I wore the shoes. After breaking them in a bit, the problem resolved. The price seemed high but once I factored in what custom inserts would’ve cost me, a knowing you can’t use inserts for flip flops, their actually a bargain.

Bought these hoping they would provide better support since I suffer with plantar fasciitis. Although this sandal doesn’t have as much bling as I’m used to, it is very cute and the color is great. I might be sacrificing a little of the bling that I’m used to but I’m not sacrificing when it comes to comfort.

These shoes offer a lot of support and I’m experiencing less pain at the end of the day. I love love love that the upper part of the sandal is adjustable. I will be buying more shoes. The only downside would be that the length is a tiny bit shorter than I’m used to and did I say it needs a little more bling.
