20 Best Samsung Monitor For Gaming (2023 Updated)

I have a 27″ LG 4k 144Hz gaming monitor for games like Cyberpunk and God of War. But for online competitive games, I wanted something more robust. So after doing my online research, I came to a conclusion to get either this Samsung Odyssey g7 27″ or Asus PG279QM.

But since I found this new here on eBay for $500, which is $400 less than what the Asus would cost, I went with this even though of all the complaints I’ve read about the flickering. I’ve had this for a week now but even before I updated the firmware, I had no issues with flickering at all with any of my games.

I turn the adapter sync on and G-sync on in the Nvidia Control Panel and set the V-sync to “Fast” and turn off V-sync in game and voila, no flickering, no tearing. Whether it’s high FPS games like Warhammer: Vermintide II (130fps to 300+fps) or low FPS games like Cyberpunk (45fps to 75fps) RTS set to Psycho and DLSS set to quality, this monitor is amazingly fast, no tearing and.

oat of all, no ghosting. Which means I can see the enemies even when I’m moving really fast. The colors are vibrant and the HDR is good enough (obviously no where as good as an OLED or MINI-LED TV). However, I do need to warn about how washed out the sceen becomes when HDR is turned on in certain games, but not all games.

Oh, in Windows mode, I’ve set this monitor to 4k via the Nvidia Control Panel using DLDSR. I have it set side by side to my LG 27GN950-B at native 4k, the colors and textures are so similar that I can’t tell the difference except for the curvature of the screen.

One more negative thing, Samsung’s manufacturer warranty does not start from the date of sale, but with the date of manufacture. Also, most eBay sellers are not on their official sallers list so I’m pretty sure they’ll use that as an excuse to not honor the repair if you need it.

So make sure you get the extra warranty within the 30 days grace period of your purchase if you do decide to get one. Overall, I cannot be more satisfied with this monitor so far.

Pretty good monitor as I got it on sale and used a gift card from a friend to drop to price to something manageable. Pros: Great curved display. Haven’t had any issues with the screen itself (as of yet – about a month in).

Colours pop when adjusted correctly. Can push frames well from a PC player on WZ mostly. but because of the slightly poor optimization of the game can’t quite get to 240hz. (avg. 165-190ish on a 3080 during gameplay – 240 for sure at menus etc).

Smart toggle button is easy to navigate menus etc. LED’s are cool, however something more along the front of the display would have been nice. Cons: Someone said it before – Cable management is terrible, decided to pass on using it because the clip provided can’t fit all cables etc through it.

Not a great design to it. Usb B to A always seems to have an issue with pop-up notifications on Windows 10. stopped using it and went back to plugging in my kb & mouse directly into the PC ports. Wish some options in the menus such as VRR or of the like would be still customizable during/ when not running G-sync etc.

Hoped that eye saver mode wouldn’t dim the display so much. can’t use it because it’s too dim. a couple other small adjustments and this thing could be a serious beast. Overall, still satisfied with the display – curve needs a little getting used to (even coming from a 1500r curved one).

Image is smooth in 1440p and clear, no real jagged lines at all, some slight ghosting lines on some moving objects with DLSS on in WZ but nothing crazy, it’s bright enough and 8bit colour seems to work fine, 10bit sort of turns my screen on and off sometimes.

not sure if it’s my dual screen setup or if I have a defective one, but nothing else is really wrong with the display at this point.

Upgraded from my Q27T1, and I’ve been testing it for a week now, here are some pros and cons of this monitor. Pros: 1. 32 inch, wide enough makes you feel like watching TV almost, but you have to keep it on a spacious table as the stand really takes a large room.

2. Almost no ghosting effects under G-sync 240hz, really good for a VA panel, probs the best? 3. Good color displaying (va panel wise), I compared it with my Q27T1(90% dci-p3), G7 is a little bit inferior in the color performance, which might be the difference from the panel type as IPS is more saturated in the color than VA panel, but for a va panel G7 is good enough.

4. HDR 600, better than hdr 400, and better than nothing. Cons: 1. Aggresive curve, which might be a deal-breaker for someone used to flat panel, but I am fine with it, it’s okay with gaming and programming for me.

2. Gray uniformity is very bad, in 100% white screen you can tell clearly there are some areas more gray and yellw than rest of the areas, can become very obvious when you are doing word excel or browing google (check hardware unboxed review for details).

3. Currently Windows 10-11 hdr color management is a disaster, turning on HDR make the whole screen washed out, and most of the games don’t even positively benefit from HDR (turning on HDR makes the game look even worse), however that’s not the quality of the screen, but the issue is here and I don’t think you can get around it.

Overall, this is really a well-rounded product for price 500 euros, but no more than 500 euros value I would say.

I want to give this monitor 5 stars but it has a few issues that need to be resolved through a firmware update. issues that need to be addressed: – brightness in SDR with local dimming set to ‘auto’ is far too dim.

Auto is only real usable setting because the other two available options which are low or high introduce noticeable and distracting blooming. What’s odd is that the auto local dimming setting with HDR enabled is the best way to use the monitor.

The monitor still remains bright while severely limiting any blooming. There’s no reason why the brightness for the auto setting while in SDR can’t be increased while still limiting blooming. This is my main issue with this monitor and really urge Samsung to fix this.

My second issue is the monitor also dims the screen brightness significantly with a full screen window. this is a mini LED panel and there is no reason why the full screen brightness should be limited to this degree, especially with how Samsung advertised their ‘HDR 2000’ certification to be unmatched.

Basically the monitor can get bright in a small section of the screen with certain settings enabled, but the overall fullscreen brightness and brightness in SDR is restricted and there’s just no reason for it.

I think it can be addressed in a firmware update and should be asap. – Also while there is almost no blooming with local dimming set to ‘auto’ both in HDR and SDR, there is a minimal amount of flicker when bright objects move across the screen which is just due to the mini LEDs turning on and off abruptly.

It’s relatively minor but I think if Samsung puts more attention into fine tuning their local dimming algorithm for both SDR and HDR these brightness and flicker issues could be resolved. Another issue with this monitor and Samsung monitors as a whole is quality control.

My first unit came with multiple dead pixels in the middle of the screen so I sent it back and got a new one. The second I received seems to be fine so far but for $1500 there should be zero of these issues at all.

A lot of people have also reported scanline issues but both units I received didn’t have any of these issues. With all that being said this monitor’s picture quality is phenomenal. Blacks are black, the contrast is insanely high very comparable to OLED, and like I said before aside from the SDR local dimming issue, with local dimming set to auto there is almost no blooming compared to other mini led or FALD monitors.

The response times are insanely fast, and while you can’t hit 4k 240hz consistently now there are new cards coming out soon that should be able to hit that and for now whenever I’m playing something competitive dropping the resolution works fine.

And aside from the full screen brightness not being as bright as Samsung’s advertising makes it out to be, HDR games and content look amazing. While the monitor isn’t perfect I think if they solve some of the issues I’ve described with a few firmware updates it will be the best 16:9 monitor you can get, and the price isn’t insane like something like the ASUS PG32uqx which is twice the price and has a ton of blooming issues that this monitor doesn’t.

If you aren’t dying to grab one of these as soon as possible I would wait until they fix some of the brightness issues with updates and by that time this product will like see some sort of price reduction.

Purchased this monitor new 5 days ago because $150 for a gaming monitor with these specs and features is a steal and I was in the market for a new one but did not want to spend a fortune. Unfortunately, there were negatives I noticed right off the bat.

During assembly of the stand, I noticed the only screw to connect the two plastic parts of the stand was poorly placed and incapable of threading properly into its designated hole. I was however able to finagle it enough to test out the monitor.

The stand then snaps on to the back of the monitor and is fixed into place. IT DOES NOT TILT, even though it is advertised at Best Buy AND in the manual to do so. The stand itself I found to be very obtrusive in size and shape.

It takes up a lot of space on the desk, so keep that in mind if you’re working with a smaller setup. It does not have VESA holes so I doubt you could find an alternate stand. The monitor is also advertised in the manual to have speakers but I cannot get them to work despite trying both HDMI ports, multiple cables, reinstalling sound drivers and making sure volume on both computer and monitor were maxed.

The headphone jack works, so the monitor is getting audio, but nothing comes out of the monitor itself. I should not have to use external speakers for a monitor that is supposed to have internal ones.

Overall the monitor has positives for the purchased price point: a great curved display, refresh rate, and 2 HDMI ports, BUT it completely lacks advertised and expected specifications. I feel deceived and dissatisfied with the purchase.

It is possible I received a faulty product but it appears to simply be an inadequate monitor. I will be returning it.

I love my Samsung 27″ Odyssey Gaming monitor. Our monitor was terminally dying and needed to get a new one right away. We ended up with the Samsung 27″ monitor because it was immediately available and was on sale at a good price.

We did notice that it was curved, but we were assured we would like that feature. We had a little problem when we went to set it up. The cord wasn’t compatible with our computer. Our daughter figured out the problem.

We didn’t realize it is a gaming monitor and had been supplied with that type of cord. After calling the Geek Squad for information, I was told that the monitor had an HDMI connection and so did my computer.

The quick fix was to find the longest unused HDMI cord in the house. Once turned on I discovered just how great the new monitor is. It’s clear and easy to see. Even though I’ve been having eye problems working at the computer, I can see without seeing a magnifying glass all the time anymore.

I should mention that my husband isn’t quite as happy as I am. Apparently he is having problems with certain programs, Errors pop up occasionally which doesn’t make him happy, but we haven’t tried to solve the problems yet.

I bet there’s just a setting that needs to be changed. Oh and of course there seems to be a little problem with turning it off. It’s supposed to be easy and most of the time it is. But then it seems to get in a loop and takes forever to quit.

I think I’ll read the directions instead of just listening to the others. This is a fancier monitor than we needed since we aren’t gamers and that’s probably why we ran into problems, but I sure am glad we ended up with it.

I’m a very casual gamer, I have a PS5 and Xbox Series S and wanted to find a monitor that could at least utilize the 120hz capabilities both the consoles offer. After seeing reviews of individuals who had success with extremely similar models, and a very appealing black friday deal of 149.

99 off of the original 279. 99 i purchased one for myself. After disabling free sync within the monitor and enabling performance mode and the “full” setting under RGB range within the PS5, the screen looked great and was able to achieve the 120hz on games that offer that setting (Cold War, Vanguard, F1, Rainbow Six, and a handful of other titles.

) The Series S was also able to run at 1080p 120hz without any issues after the free sync was disabled within the monitor. The monitor also has 2 HDMI ports which is very convenient. For some of the downsides of this monitor, I personally think the original price is a bit expensive but fortunately I’ve seen this monitor go on sale multiple times throughout the year.

The monitor doesn’t have integrated speakers which is a little bit of an inconvenience but can be solved with an inexpensive pair of external speakers (I chose some for less than $30. ) Ultimately, I recommend securing yourself one of these monitors especially if it is at a discounted price.

The compatibility with the 120hz function on BOTH the new generation of Xbox consoles and playstations is a huge plus even though it’s only at 1080p.

I purchased this to use solely for gaming on 1080p and less consoles(Switch, PS4, Xbox One, PS3, and Xbox 360). I was hoping that due to the small screen size, the built in “magic upscale” feature, and the “game mode”, that’d I’d be happy playing 1080 and 720p games on this monitor.

Turns out I was wrong. First, I’ve played on a curved monitor before and found it added noticable depth to the screen; however, the display I had used was 27″. The curve on the 24″ screen didn’t have any affect on my eyes.

Second: I could not find a setting that I was consistently happy with(that always happens to me with Samsung displays). Sometimes “game mode” looked ok, other times terrible(I was comparing like resolutions).

Sometimes the colors were too oversaturated, sometimes not saturated enough. I’m sure you get the picture. All in all I found the image to have a muddy look. With 720p games, the “magic upscale” sharpening filter was often too strong(there are two options under this), introducing ugly sharpening artifacts.

I have a 24″ 4k LG monitor that has a feature called “super resolution” that is similar to “magic upscale” and it makes 1080p/720p games look much better than this monitor and it’s upscaling features, especially when combined with the Marseille m-Classic and appropriate HDMI cables(I also have a cheap 1440p portable monitor by some generic company where this works great as well, especially considering the m-Classic only does 1440p at 60hz).

I gave it 2 stars(should be one and a half) instead of 1 because: 1. For office, design, movies, etc. , I can’t comment. 2. It was easy to set up and use. For gaming, however, I do not recommend this monitor.

The gotcha with curved screens is that while they’re great for a single viewer, they’re pretty lousy for multiple viewers. PC use? Perfect. Once you get over a certain size you really want a curved a screen or else you can’t have it particularly close lest you get stuck having to constantly refocus your eyes as you look around.

Curved screens get over that and help with the ergonomics for a more comfortably computer using time. Games are more immersive. This thing? You’d think it’s too small to really benefit from the curved effect but it honestly does help.

I’ve got one mounted up and off to the side of my primary curved ultra-wide and for that it’s good to have another curved screen. Going back and forth between a curved screen and a flat one really emphasizes why I don’t like flat screens so it’s nice that my secondary screen can be curved too.

It’s a pretty good value for what you get, but it’s by no means the greatest screen ever as there’s all sorts of weird edge light bleeding when displaying all black, and some color uniformity at the edges otherwise.

You don’t want this for critical viewing, but for a chat window, stocks, showing your e-mail off to the side, hey it’s good enough. This particular unit is my second one. I had to return the first one because the little joystick thing in the back was jammed and inoperable.

I also had an absolute devil of a time in trying to remove the stand. Know that if you install the stand on it’s probably a one-way trip. It at least comes with an HDMI cable which was a little surprise.

Both samples had the terrible light-bleed and color uniformity issues. If it weren’t curved for this price I’d knock it down one star lower.

I bought my monitor since we started to work from home due to the pandemic. I am a software engineer, so having a lot of real state was the main argument to purchase it. I have it connected to my work laptop via HDMI and my personal laptop via Thunderbolt 3 connector.

So it is very practical to switch from one to another. The HDMI connection is very reliable, I have had almost no issues with it. However, the Thunderbolt 3 connection is not as reliable. I have had to physically disconnect the cable from the back of the monitor some times for my laptop to get recognized again because doing it from the end to the laptop did not work.

I am using the provided USB Thunderbolt 3 cable for this connection so I don’t think the cable is the issue. Other than that, the brightness is great, the resolution is also awesome, the colors are vivid.

I also like that it has built-in speakers and I did not expect them to have a nice quality sound, but they are enough for my needs. I play music while working and sometimes use them during conversations in video chats although I use my headset most of the times for that.

However, improving the sound quality also would be great. I think adding a built-in video camera would be the cherry on the top (literally), but it has to be an HD camera, because the monitor itself is very pricey and the video camera has to be as good as that.

In summary, I am very happy with my monitor because of how wide it is and how nice the resolution of the images are.

Overall a good monitor if you can get it for a decent price. I got mine for around $460. Pros: *Amazing Color (I know some Samsung products tend to over saturate the colors but this monitor looked great if your getting this monitor for video and photo editing it really does look great.

The monitor covers I think all of the dcip3 color space) *Refresh rate is a plus. (It can be a little hard to find a monitor in 21:9 aspect ratio at 165hz) *Availability *Bang for buck. (At $460 it has some pretty good features, read spec sheet for most) Cons: *Smeared Darks (It’s a little harder to explain this one, but I play a lot of tarkov.

It’s a dark game and when I’m looking into a black and grey corner the details almost completely disappear) *Fake HDR (It says it supports HDR but in reality it just excepts HDR signals. The HDR on this monitor looks worse than the SDR.

NOT SAYING THE SDR LOOKS BAD. Just that the HDR looks awful) *Vesa mount on the back is a little too high for some mounts. (My mount in particular is an arm mount that attaches to my desk. Because the vesa mount on the monitor is so high is sags down at the bottom.

I would suggest a heavier duty monitor arm) *Freesync premium. (Now I know this may seem like it should be a pro. But it’s just a bummer because in my instance I have a rtx 3080. Most freesync premium monitors at least are compatible with g-sync but this monitor in my experience was not.

Although I didn’t have any issues with screen tearing or latency) Overall a good monitor for the price. The curve is a little aggressive at 1000R but really not a bad curve for the size.

I found this monitor quite bizarre. It has fantastic black levels. In the picture you can see my all black desktop background. Almost flawless, and I’m saying that as an OLED lover. And the black is uniform.

But when it comes to grey levels. somehow it gets an IPS like glow around the corners and has terrible uniformity. The color is atrocious. I had to do tons of fiddling to get it usable, but that involved boosting the color vibrancy to insane levels, just for it to show red as red instead of a washed out brown, and even then it doesn’t hold a candle to my regular entry level IPS monitor Finally, this monitor’s greatest sin is the curvature.

The 1000R should be avoided at all costs. It’s not even a uniform curve! It is more curved in the middle of the screen than the edges, so it has a bizarre dip in the middle and then flattens out on the sides.

Wack. This might work for gaming but for everything else you get warping. Like. moving a desktop window from one side to the other you can see it distort. See pictures for more on the curve.

I picked up two of these monitors because it was time to upgrade. They came packaged pretty well and had no issues with unboxing or shipping. The base takes some force to get in, so yes you’re pushing hard enough, maybe need to push just a little harder to get the base to go in.

Installation of the base is tool less so that was very convenient. I had both monitors together in five minutes or so. Comes with a display port cable so you don’t have to purchase a separate one. I only have two complaints about the monitors.

One, it doesn’t tilt up and down like it advertised. I pushed pretty hard trying to get the monitor to tilt, but it did not budge on either one, and the second thing is the screen seems to be a little dim, but not horribly dim.

It is still useable in a lit room or with indirect sunlight without an issue at all. Overall, I’m loving these new monitors and they are working very well.

For HDR content, it looks great, it get pretty close to a OLED display in-term of contrast and display vibrant colors. There will be noticeable blooming especially when there are white small dot in a black background, i.

e. a mouse pointer, but that rarely happened in a normal HDR content, I say unless you’re purposefully trying to make it happen. However OLED like the new Alienware QD-OLED will still beat this monitor in term of HDR.

For SDR content, you will have to spend some time calibrating the display to get the natural color, all the preset look absolutely terrible. I bought this monitor when it on sale for $1099, at this price it’s an amazing value when you compare to the ASUS one at $2999 with similar technology.

However, at MSRP, it is the same price at the Alienware QD-OLED one, and I would definitely go for the Alienware one if it’s in-stock. The upside of the monitor is pretty much that it is in-stock most of the time and at a higher resolution and burn-in it not an issue compare to Alienware, however newer OLED technology pretty made burn-in a thing of the past.

I’d recommended this monitor over the Alienware when it’s on sale and you just don’t want a Ultra Wide form factor.

It’s is great for gaming and viewing movies, however there are some down falls if your not using it for PC gaming some features are not available, I game on a ps5 and it’s somewhat of a hassle to change the picture mode from rpg games to fps games.

The. If you want to stream movies and videos you would have to go through the struggle of turning certain features off just to change the picture settings to cinema. However the 2k picture is great, and most movies and games visually are appealing.

There are somethings that are lacking for instance the ps5 has recently put out the an update to help decrease the input lag depending on the the monitor it self even thou it’s at 120hrz it’s unfortunately not compatible with the ps5s update to lessen the input lag.

Overall my experience with the product is great and I’ve enjoyed oled screen hopefully this review will help me and knock off 200 for the next samsung monitor specifically the odessy 9. That beast of a monitor would be a true gaming experience.

This monitor is great for 1440P. I spent a long time trying to decide on 4k,1080p and 4K, pros and cons for all. You might find that a lot of people end up talking about pixel density for a 32″ monitor at 1440p andyou should be buying a 4K monitor.

Well let me tell you that at 4K you will need an extremely powerful system and if you are just the average gamer then 1440p is the sweet spot. Does this monitor have the highest pixel density no but the 240HZ with a 1ms response time with a VA panel more than makes up for that.

The Curve on the 32″ doesnt bother me at all and I have never used a curved display its something that you can get comfortable with and for me made a big difference outside of gaming, working from home for example with this monitor and its curve is amazing.

The only reason I cant give this a 10 out of 10 is because I am not a massive fan of RGP and the core lighting on the front and back, for me is just a waste of time and money whether be development or whatever.

I feel this is a gimmick these days to be able call a monitor a “gaming” monitor. I also dropped off 1 point due to the size of the stand. It took up so much room on my desk that I ended up purchasing a monitor arm.

Honestly that’s all the complaints I can have about this monitor. Hope this helps anyone thinking of purchasing a new monitor in the future.

This monitor does it all. It’s perfect for being able to play all of my consoles and multitask. Optimal for watching videos and movies, playing games (both competitive and cinematic), and productivity.

I’m able to stretch the timeline for music/editing software and fit more on the screen. HDR is stunning, and multifunctional. As consoles and PC support for HDR grows I find more of my library being accessible and exciting to experience with high quality.

PBP is very nice for being able to play a console and monitor a stream, or watch videos or walkthroughs, etc. No compromises experience. High refresh rate, high resolution, and a very bright and beautiful visual range that helps you fully experience a detailed scene without getting washed out or blurry picture quality.

G-sync/Free-sync support even adds more to that no compromises experience as it lets you reduce screen tearing without adding latency. The monitor itself has a very good build quality as well. The design isn’t distracting and has accents that don’t feel out of place in most setups.

The back light is customizable and looks very cool. The I/O is also very functional. I find it supports just about any device I’d use with little to no difficulty. The only thing that it leaves to be desired is more local dimming zones to make the HDR a bit more involved which is solved by the succeeding model the Neo G9.

Any other deficiencies are due to other technology being behind (HDCP and HDR in particular. ).

I bought this monitor for flight and racing simulation. It has definitely enhanced the experiences for both simulators. In racing, I can now see further into corners without having to change the viewpoint.

As far as emersion goes, it’s nice to be able to see the driver’s side and rear view mirrors at the same time. Depending on the vehicle, sometimes you can see both side mirrors, which feels nice to me.

It’s use for flight simulation is even more pronounced. Situation awareness doubles with half the movements. Immediately, taxiing and landing become easier because of the side references. It’s also easier to track gauges during these operations because of less viewpoint changes.

Of course, looking out of the window on VFR flights is stunning. It is also a great monitor for having multiple pages open. I can have 4 pages of notes open simultaneously with no problem. I did have to adjust the font size for this type of operation, but once adjusted, everything is great.

Here’s why the monitor looses a star. When you are looking around (changing the viewpoint) in flight simulation, the outer quarters to thirds of screen will begin to distort and elongate. It’s usually not that bad, but I thought it is worth mentioning.

Really 4-1/2 or 4-3/4 stars is more accurate for this monitor.

I have enjoyed having this monitor as my only monitor for gaming and daily computer use. There has been many firmware updates, each improving bugs one at a time. There should have been maybe four updates since this monitor came out, each containing more fixes and features, but they haven’t.

It updates randomly and I need to check reddit to find out, or go through many hoops to find it on Samsungs site. To update the firmware, you have to pull the monitor out, pop the cover off, and then connect a USB formatted a specific way in order to update the monitor.

If they are going to continue updating this to address the bugs that still exist, they should have a way for you do it over the USB hub. I got this in December of 2020 from Amazon for $1100 new. That is the very max I would recommend paying for this monitor.

Other than the annoying firmware updates, the random flickering that occurs with multiple windows and opening certain games makes it feel like you are paying to test the product for them. I will end on a good note and say this monitor works great with PS5 and PC with PS5 on HDMI and PC on DP with it split 50/50 and looks great too.

Samsung – 27″ Odyssey G40B FHD IPS 240Hz 1ms G-Sync Gaming Monitor – Black I have to say, I truly love this FHD monitor! As you can see from the description above, the specs are great. This monitor replaces a good spec’d HP gaming monitor.

However, this one, in comparison, leaves my former one in the dust. Response time is wonderful at only 1ms, and with 240Hz this baby shows no lag in any way. With both adaptive G-Sync and AMD FreeSync, you’re synchronized between your monitor and GPU to avoid choppiness, image tears or screen lag, and it uses the correct one automatically whether you have an Intel or AMD setup.

My previous gaming monitor was 24”, which has been the standard for gaming for a long time. But I’ve found that the 27” Samsung is the perfect size – you can “see” your total screen without moving your head at all or your eyes very much.

I have a 32” monitor I’ve used for gaming, but it’s too large in that you have to move your eyes a lot, and even your head sometimes, to keep up with what’s going on in your game with the larger screen.

Having a 27” gaming monitor also allows the objects on the screen to be a little larger (definitely noticeable from the 24” to the 27”), which is helpful in identifying objects more quickly. It also offers the option of a 21:9 ratio for an extra wide view should that be helpful to you.

The Samsung 27” Odyssey G40B has HDR (High Dynamic Range), which means that, in short, it allows for improved brightness and color accuracy. The whites are whiter, and the blacks are blacker with the range of colors increased thus allowing more detail in the colors.

What does all this mean? Simply that the screen has a clearer image bordering on the feel of a higher resolution. This is my impression comparing my 24” gaming monitor without HDR and the Samsung Odyssey with HDR.

The Odyssey also detects when connected devices are turned on switching to the new signal automatically. Of course, you can swivel, tilt, and adjust the height of the monitor to your liking. The screen bezels are thin.

It has 2 HDMI ports, 1 DisplayPort (DP), power port, and an audio-out port. As I said at the beginning, I love this monitor!.

TL;DR: a snappy, well-equipped monitor with only a few downsides Appearance: this monitor is a very attractive one. I personally like that it looks modern and sleek without looking garish and over-done.

There are a few flaws in the appearance. The bezels, especially at the bottom, are a bit on the large side. Additionally, the blue turbine-looking piece on the back doesn’t light up. I like the feature and the color, but I wish there was a light in it.

Lastly, the cable management is a silicone strap on the back. I wish there was a channel running down the back instead. Performance: this monitor shines in performance. I hooked up my series x and my PC to it.

The auto switch functionality works well and is really convenient. The responsiveness is like nothing I’ve experienced as this is my first monitor that’s really designed around gaming. Most I’ve had are for general use with some gamer-friendly features.

It made my series X feel snappier since it responds much quicker than my TV does. The high refresh rate makes things look buttery smooth and with no detectable input lag. The variable refresh rate (VRR) does work, though maybe not perfectly.

Seems to work better on PC games than it does with the series X. It smoothed out some frame rate issues in Elden Ring, but wasn’t perfect. The biggest cons I find with the performance of this monitor are resolution, contrast, and HDR performance.

While 1080p is decent, especially at 27″, it would seem like there’s something left on the table as many displays have moved to 1440p and 4k. The contrast leaves a bit to be desired. I believe that’s because it’s an IPS panel vs VA or OLED, but it could be higher.

The relatively lower contrast goes hand in hand with my other complaint. The HDR did not impress on this monitor. It has HDR10, but when you have somewhat low contrast and low peak brightness, the HDR suffers.

The image is very crisp and colors seem well-balanced, but I wish it just had more of that HDR pop where bright highlights actually look bright. Solid monitor, would recommend, but it’s not perfect.

I’m a huge fan of Samsung 49″ ultra-wide monitors. I was an early adopter for their first generation and have purchased 2 others since before this one. This is an equivalent to two 27″ monitors side by side without the bezel between.

I had been using multiple monitors for years before switching to a single ultra-wide which as the first gen Samsung which had a 3840 x 1080 at 144Hz display. So it’s a big improvement with the Neo G9 having 5120 x 1440 resolution at 240Hz.

If you are a gamer, first and foremost, the curved screen ratio had been improved from the first gen monitor making a tighter radius with greater peripheral view resulting in a more immersive feel during game play.

It also has Freesync and G-Sync which when enabled in the game video options helps prevent what they call screen tearing which results in smoother play. A few things changed from previous Samsung 49″ ultra-wide models besides performance, resolution and refresh rate.

The inputs went from a DisplayPort and mini DisplayPort and one HDMI to only one DisplayPort and two HDMI ports. If you are only hooking up to a single computer you have the standard options and I suppose with the additional HDMI port it’s easier to connect consoles or another computer.

I actually use the one DisplayPort from my main home use/gaming rig and one of the HDMI ports hooked up to my work laptop when I do work from home. Using PIP (picture in picture mode) the monitor will allow you to set up side by side displays from two different inputs so basically having two independent 27″ monitors.

I really like that feature!!!! As for as NITS and all that other good stuff. I don’t know anything about that because I’m not a graphics artist or content creator but I imagine true colors and color brightness are a huge attraction as this monitor does deliver.

It sports a classy clean look. The gloss white really goes with my home desk setup and white PC case. Yeah, it’s a lot of plastic but it’s well done. I only experience one issue from time to time. When playing New World and I ALT-TAB to another window to quickly check email the display will come back almost blacked out but a dull image.

like looking through a black cloud and you can’t make out the image. To correct this I have to unplug the monitor and plug it back in. I think it has something to do with HDR being enabled so I disabled in the game menu and haven’t had a problem since.

I do understand there were earlier problems with HDR but a firmware patch corrected the issue. I checked and I have the current firmware so for now I can live with HDR off when I play. I’ve seen mixed reviews on this monitor and I will admit that the price point is pretty high so it’s not for everyone.

If you are content creator, streamer or graphics artist then you can probably justify the $2500 price tag. For a gaming solution. I’ll leave it up to you if you think it’s worth it. There are a ton of preformance reviews on Youtube so I didn’t delve into all those stats and numbers but attacked this review as a pure gamer.

I usually am on the bleeding edge of technology and willing to pay extra for things that I know I will get a lot of use out of. I love this monitor and paired with my new Alder Lake gaming rig with a RTX3080Ti it’s an amazing addition to my overall gaming setup.

I would have given this 5 stars if the price was say at the $2K or less. But if price is not an issue then I can’t recommend this enough.

This is the best monitor for gaming and productivity I’ve ever used. If you’ve got the scratch and want top of line go for it! Add some hue play or gradient strip lights to the setup and it’s one of the most jaw dropping immersive experiences I’ve ever seen.

I don’t often leave reviews but when I do it’s for products that have blown my mind or left me feeling robbed. Fortunately this monitor falls in the mind blown category and I can honestly say I would have paid retail value for it and still felt like I got my moneys worth.

Lots of reviews say this monitor is trash or has build quality issues which made me hold off on buying the monitor when it was released. I guess the reviewer world is full of trolls or people who nit pick at small details that overshadow the major positives of what this monitor offers.

Contrary to the negative reviews I have not encountered any dead pixel issues or crackle popping from the panel shifting as it heats up during use. Maybe I got lucky but I have not encountered these commonly reported issues.

If you’re a gamer you’re gonna love this monitor. Super immersive for all the games I’ve played (it’s like wearing a VR headset), lightning fast response time, and the mini led thing is not a gimmick the blacks on this monitor are the best I’ve seen on a non-oled tv.

Keep in mind, there are some games that do not support 32:9 but it’s only a matter of time before more titles start hopping on the bandwagon, I’ve even heard rumors ps5 will start supporting it which will make this monitors value instantly improve.

The curve took some time to adjust to but once you find that sweet spot for viewing and seating distance you’re gonna love every inch of this behemoth for long hrs of gaming. If you work from home this monitor far out beats a dual monitor setup.

I went from a 38inch lg with a horizontal 27inch side monitor and feel less strained at the end of the day when I’m working with multiple windows open. I can now center my main window in front of my face while having outlook and slack open on each side and not feel like I constantly have to turn my head or re-configure windows to manage real-time communication or email while I’m working.

The stand is actually very good for an out-of-the box setup. It does take up quite a bit of space and I will be getting a monitor arm to reclaim the area under the monitor to make the set up look clean.

Keep in mind you will need a lot of desk space for this monitor as the curve pulls the sides of the monitor in so measure your desk space before you install it. If I were to nitpick I would ask for built in speakers, an extra inch or two for screen height, already updated firmware or a way to plug my computer into the USB port to directly update it, and a thank you card from Samsung saying thank you for believing in our products you’re the bestest.

Treat yourself or someone who’s socks you want knocked off to this amazing marvel of modern monitor!.

Right out of the box, this monitor looks fantastic. I have been using computer monitors since the early ’80s spanning many brands, form factors, panel types, resolutions, intended use cases, etc. The Samsung Odyssey G5 (S27AG500PN) stands out as one of the best display options that I have experienced, especially if you have an interest in gaming.

The Odyssey G5 sports a laundry list of premium features including HDR support, 2560×1440 resolution, Nvidia G-SYNC, AMD FreeSync, 1-millisecond response time, DisplayPort 1. 2 support, as well as 165/144hz refresh rate (DisplayPort/HDMI).

This is an excellent monitor for those searching for premium performance from an accessible price point. Regarding the performance of the monitor, I have tested it in three circumstances: gaming, media-viewing, and productivity.

On the gaming front, I was impressed. The monitor provides a crisp display and vibrant colors while maintaining a lightning-fast response time and framerate, provided you have the hardware required to drive games at this resolution and framerate.

From first person shooters to strategy games to rhythm games, the speedy performance of this monitor is outstanding. I experienced no input lag at any point, including gaming with a controller. However, one minor issue presented itself: the contrast and light-balance of the panel.

Given the fact that this is an IPS panel, it is understandable that it would not be capable of producing the insane contrast provided by the likes of OLED/QLED panels, but I found that the black-balance and viewing angles of the monitor left a little to be desired.

On this point, I would recommend against using this monitor if you consistently have sunlight shining directly on your setup, as it does succumb to some glare in the presence of exceedingly bright light.

However, for myself, and I’m assuming many others, this does not pose much of a downside. Regarding media-viewing, the minor image-quality issues outlined above persist, however, I feel that it is worth noting that this criticism only holds up when comparing the monitor to OLED/QLED panels.

Speaking strictly in terms of IPS panel performance, this monitor offers a very pleasing image; and if all this talk of OLEDs, QLEDs, light balancing, and panels sounds confusing, you likely won’t take any issue with the monitor whatsoever.

Getting back to the performance, I was impressed with the vibrance and clarity of the image, especially when viewing HDR supported content. On the topic of productivity, I found that the Eye-Saver mode made for a much more comfortable user experience in the realm of bright, white, high-contrast user interfaces often found in business applications such as the Office 365 Suite.

Regarding the physical attributes of the monitor, the stand provides a sturdy stature and a small footprint while allowing for a range of ergonomic adjustments in height, tilt, and rotation. Additionally, the stand includes a small strap near the base which helps quite a bit with cable management.

Visually speaking, the monitor gently straddles the line between ‘professional monitor’ and ‘premium gaming apparatus. ’ There are no RGB accent lighting features, but the small Nvidia G-SYNC insignia as well as the finishing pattern on the rear of the monitor subtly indicate the horsepower hiding under the hood.

Overall, I believe that this is an outstanding monitor and provides excellent performance in gaming, media-viewing, and productivity. I would recommend the Odyssey G5 to anyone looking for a premium performance package.

I’ll begin with the pros. I like the styling, build quality and gaming performance of this Samsung G5 monitor. The pros include solid constructed and ease of use features that include a wide screen that slides vertically on the stand, swivels right to left and rotates 90-degrees.

It also has built-in cable management, intuitive controls, and a small desktop footprint for the base. Gaming performance is good with snappy fast response and no noticeable ghosting or lag. Fast paced racing games like Forza Horizon 5 have smooth, clean, fluid motion when played through my G-SYNC enabled Nvidia RTX card.

Even when driving past scenery at over 300 mph in Forza H5, textures and graphics render quick and cleanly. Desktop performance is equally well with no lag whatsoever when opening, minimizing or maximizing files and windows.

Spreadsheets and documents have good sharpness with no jaggies on the edges. Gaming and desktop performance are nicely balanced for mixed use systems. The matte screen is excellent for avoiding harsh reflections and glare from nearby users, windows, and bright light sources.

Color and brightness seemed a little lacking out of the box but I was able to quickly adjust the display to a satisfying level without using a screen calibration tool. A panel that started out somewhat dim with washed out colors now has good brightness, popping colors and rich saturation.

HDR looks good when enabled and although it does improve graphical quality of most games, it is not quite as stunning a difference as my primary gaming monitor. The G5’s viewing angles are also somewhat shallow which results in a shimmering effect with even slight shifts off center.

The effect is more noticeable in darker gaming environments. There is also noticeable light bleed along the lower left side of the screen. Like the shimmering effect, the light bleed is most noticeable on dark backgrounds and in darker environments.

This display utilizes a proprietary power cord and brick that is far less convenient than the universally swappable standard three prong monitor power cord. If a pet chews this cord or some other mishap strikes, get ready to shell out bucks for another cord and power brick versus grabbing a spare 3-prong off an old monitor or desktop PC or for a few bucks online.

Overall, the G5 is a decent gaming and desktop monitor. It has good brightness and saturation, albeit after some fine tuning. Gaming and desktop performance are also both quite good. The screen orientation and position can be adjusted in just about any manner desired and the controls are actually asy to use, which isn’t typically the case with monitors.

On the downside, he G5 does have some noticeable light bleed, narrow viewing angles, and a proprietary power cord. It’s not perfect but still pretty good. Solid four out of five.

If you are looking to use a monitor arm, do not buy this monitor! It has 75mm VESA mounting holes but because they are on the recessed part of the monitor there is not way to actually mount it on a standard VESA plate! I can not find a plate with only 75mm holes, they are all 75mm + 100mm.

There is no plate available that can actually attach to this monitor. I am extremely frustrated and will probably sell this monitor so I can get a new one with standard VESA mounting holes. This is a ridiculous oversight!.

Two months after buying this monitor, I had to send it in to have the screen replaced as there was a single dead pixel after receiving it back. When using it again I looked at my desktop I noticed where there was a light blue colour such at the blue Ubisoft icon, it had white lines through it, I left it but gaming last night and seeing these faint lines going down the screen made me feel like regretted buying this monitor and want to get rid of it and get something else.

after a 10years old ips monitor, the colors r terrible.. i tired everything but always oversaturated and yelowish. i not really recommend it.

I bought this to add to my set up with a laptop. I use it as my main screen and mostly game with it. No complaints, it works great and the adjustable settings are super nice. To make the screen vertical you can only turn the screen one way, which might be annoying but it didn’t bother me.

Also the box only comes with a display port cord, so if you plan on using HDMI get a cable yourself.

Pros: Everything is great what else can i say Cons: The stand is a little too big but overall its fine

Going into this I already knew that the monitor doesn’t really swivel or go up or down but just tilt a little bit. I didn’t want to Shell out for a G7 because eventually I will get a nice 4K TV running 120hz but for now I just needed a quick PC monitor.

When you first powered on I had to go into the display settings and change it to the native resolution and turn on 144hrz and then the video control panel. The monitor does come with some decent presets but you’ll just have to tweak your settings to the game you’re playing.

I loaded up Lost ark and while I was in game I just tweaked the monitor to my liking. At first about an hour and a half in with Lost ark I just wasn’t really digging the monitor, yeah it looks great but until I hit that dungeon then this monitor shined it really photo realistic colors 3D environments pop out.

It’s in the dark scenes where this bad boy shines and that’s where the VA panel comes in. Same with Doom eternal I loaded it up and man it looks fantastic. I’m really happy with it haven’t really noticed any ghosting I am playing at 144 Hertz.

I tried HDR with doom and it just doesn’t look good at all maybe that’s why this monitor is a little pricey because they’re trying to sell HDR. Other than that if you’re looking for a quick monitor pick it up got it on sale.

Love this monitor. Tremendous value for the price. It replaced a 24-inch 1080p flat-screen monitor but I wanted a 1440p curved screen. I use it solely for playing Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 and wanted a monitor that would provide an immersive experience.

This really does it! The 1000R curvature seems a bit weird at first and takes a few days to get used to. I think kind of monitor is great for simulation gaming from a first-person perspective. Pros: Nice size for a close-up a immersive experience, fairly easy to put together, good quality screen, simple menu system, aesthetically pleasing, great value, supports Freesync and G-Sync (compatibility mode).

Cons: Quality of materials is fairly low, no height adjustment on the stand (wasn’t needed for my desk luckily), not great for office (productivity) work, screen wobbles a bit on the stand.

Specs aside, this monitor is a very durable, well crafted product. The color contrast, 144hz display and built in crosshairs option are some of the little things I appreciate about this product. The button to navigate the settings is genuine and simple which I love.

Overall, a good monitor. Purchased a week ago. Currently being used with a Dell 5400 Laptop. I use the vesa screws to set it on a vesa compatible stand. The picture is clear and sharp enough for mostly text in MS Office applications.

It took a bit of tweaking with the monitor’s color controls and picture settings to get it just where I want it. An issue I ran into is that I cannot get the full 3440×1440 resolution using an HDMI cable.

I don’t know if that limitation is an issue with the graphics adapter in the laptop or the monitor’s capability. To get that 3440×1440 resolution I have to use the display port. My laptop only has a USB-C port and HDMI so I use a USB-C to Display Port cable and it works fine.

A minor annoyance is that the power and display settings button is on the back of the monitor. That’s a very inconvenient location but I guess it may be manufactured that way to allow easier access to the button(s) if you stack multiple monitors together.

For the price I’m pretty satisfied.

Overall I like the monitor. However, there is something that is preventing it from working right. I have it connected to my Surface Pro through the Microsoft docking station. I use the monitor in the PIP/PBP mode because it replaces each individual monitor setup that I had previously.

But for some reason when the Surface powers down or goes into sleep mode and then is restarted again, the monitor fails to power up. It is not the docking station because I have my wireless keyboard and mouse connected through it, and both work without issues, once the Surface is restarted.

This was also a nonissue when I had the dual monitor setup, which was connected through the exact same docking station and the same HDMI/Display Port cables. The only solution, thus far, has been disconnecting the monitor’s power source and then reconnecting it to get it to boot back up.

Hopefully, a better solution will come shortly.

Pros: Value for money this monitor gives you a hell of a lot. The display quality is superb BUT it must be noted, it’s a VA panel that isn’t colour calibrated from the factory – If you are not a graphic designer or video editor, this will never be an issue – it’s beautiful and you wouldn’t notice anyway.

I sold this monitor just for the colour accuracy and spread of an LG IPS (£80 more) and it’s well worth it given my line of work. Gaming however is still brilliant even at 4ms response, having 75hz (check which port supports it, one of the HDMIs is capped at 50hz!) is fantastic and something I miss when I’m capped at 60hz on my new IPS panel.

For all kinds of work or gaming, once you’ve experienced ultrawide you can’t go back. And at this price you have to expect some downsides but the positives are amazing. Cons: The stand is terrible, if’s not adjustable in any way (it would seem) and despite the advertisement that it tilts up and down, it honestly felt like I was going to snap the stand and stopped trying at that point.

Fine if you happen to be sat at the perfect height to the monitor, annoying if you’re not. No extra USBs or frills but that’s fine given the price. I’ve mentioned it in the positives, beautiful colour array but actually not perfect for colour accurate work.

If this isn’t important to you, you’d never know!At £80 more the LG IPS display I’ve since bought has USBs, better colour accuracy (noticably) and a stand that’s fantastic and adjustable in all ways.

This thing is a beast! Look on Google for the specs if you are curious, they also come inside the box. It is a 75hrz , max 300nits brightness, with an optimal resolution of 2440×1440. Comes with a 2 cables: high speed HDMI and VGA?.

3. 5mm, and plenty of portsWhich, on a screen of this size the higher pixelation is a must from what I hear. 4ms refresh rate I am in love with the fact that this monitor has a toggle button the back to navigate without a keyboard to control that you can use to navigate.

No complicated setup either. I haven’t hooked it to a PC yet, only to a PS4 to take it for a test drive so I knew if everything was good fresh out the box. It does not loooked curved, although it says it is, and when you are directly in front of it you can feel a little of the curvature- like almost get motion sick from COD lol.

cost wise you wont find anything similar as far as size and res for this price point.

I purchased this monitor after playing the panel lottery for 6 months with various ASUS and ACER Gaming Panels (PG279Q and XB271HU/XB270HU). After using this Samsung CFG70 Panel for 3 Months I wanted to Share my feedback.

Comparing the Samsung 24″ CFG70 to these panels, with the Samsung I found the panel quality to be far superior than that of the competitors. The Samsung Panel had no backlight bleed or dead pixels on the first monitor, where as after 5 PG279Qs and 2 XB271HU, I was still unable to find another gaming panel that was free of such defects.

The Contrast Ratio on the Samsung Panel Is Also Far Superior to its competitor gaming panels, bringing dark scenes to life, which I have noticed especially in titles of the Mass Effect and Tomb Raider series.

For that reason, I appreciate the use of a VA Panel in this monitor. The Monitor Is Also Bright and The Colors Are Exceptionally Vibrant. Being that I use Nvidia Graphics Cards, I have not been able to take advatage of the free sync feature of this monitor, but I have not noticed any screen tearing either.

The responsiveness of this monitor is equivalent if not better than the gaming monitors I compared it with. There is a very slight purple hue visible over Grey Scenes when panning rapidly in-game, however it is rarely noticeable, not distracting, and probably also present on other monitors using overdrive for their G2Gs.

This purple hue is not present in scenes which are not overtly grey. Contrary to other reviewers, I found the monitor stand to be both innovative and user-friendly. Both the monitor cabinet and the stand seem to be well built, although the base is quite large relative to the panel.

I also like that the I/O and ports come straight off the back for easier cable management, particularily with the stand clip to help manage and hide cables. The Monitor’s Built-In Menu is also easy to use and offers some useful settings for adjusting black level and Overdrive to your preference.

I would like to see more Gaming Panels from Samsung, particularily in 2560×1440 and especially 4k resolutions. This monitor was quite expensive for a 1080p Panel but well worth it in my opinion, especially with the included game bundle.

Also, please release the CF791 or a follow-up model in a Black Variant. I will be purchasing my future gaming panels from Samsung as their quality is thus far un-matched from my experience with other gaming monitor brands.

I just received this monitor I have to say it is the best computer monitor I have ever owned. The 1ms response time and 144mhz refresh rate is amazing. Coming from a 24 inch TN panel at 60mhz I can not truly describe how incredible this difference is.

(Note that you must use the display port to achieve anything above 60mhz — The DP cable is included 🙂 ). The Quantom Dot technology delivers colors that are super vibrant and pop off of the screen.

Screen tearing is a thing of the past with this 144mhz 1ms beauty. The colors are incredibly accurate and very rich. The contrast ratio of 3000:1 is a thing of beauty. The dark colors are outstanding with no back light bleeding, even the IPS panels are no match.

The on screen display is very intuitive and well designed. The ability to save 3 profiles for games or movies and everyday computing is a nice touch coupled with the built in gaming profiles. The curved monitor is great, it really draws you in as well as saving desk space.

Set up was very simple and the stand is very sturdy and very flexible in allowing you to easily raise and lower, swivel as well as rotate. It comes with an extra bracket if you want to attach it onto a wall mount.

Always wanted an ultra wide. Seems to work fine. The picture does distort in the ultra wide mode. if you do not view in ultra wide the picture is fine but you lose 1/6 of the image to blank black space on each side.

In other words to view the image correctly you are forced to use only 2/3 of the available screen. Haven’t figured out how to use all of the features yet and Samsung support is terrible. When I called with about the problem the tech could not find the monitor on his list and said the model number was non-existent.

I told him I was looking at the monitor online while we were speaking but he still could not find it. Finally, he told me I had a business version of the monitor and since he was a gaming tech he could not help me.

Then he just hung up without giving me a chance to respond. For this reason, I certainly will not buy another Samsung product. After trying the many functions of the monitor for about an hour I was still unable to solve the problem on my own.

So for now I only use the ultra wide mode when distortion does not matter. I have always used multiple monitors in the past, Most recently two side by side 27″ screens. I am seriously thinking about going back to that configuration.

This monitor cost $1300. The two 27″ side by side were $400 a piece.

This monitor is great if you just want it sitting on your desk, but in order remove the stand for use with a wall or desk mount, first the back has to be removed which mars up the case where it has to be pried apart.

Second, the trim around the edges will probably crack in the top two corners because the back is not actually designed to be removed far enough to remove the screws that hold the stand on from the inside.

Then care must be used when putting the back on to get the curved top trim completely over the front of the screen or the screen will crack. DO NOT try to remove the desk stand from this monitor! If you want to use a wall/desk mount get a different monitor!!!.

I have never experienced the curved screen before, this was a surprise Holiday gift from my family! I don’t think I can go back to a regular flat screen. Watching videos and looking at pictures is a delight with all the vibrant colors shining through! Clarity is very good.

I think the rest of the family members will be getting this for themselves very soon (they are a little jealous).

Delivery of the monitor was incredibly quick, like next day. The monitor is just so-so. I find the colors somewhat dull, display is not crisp, and the wakeup from sleep mode rather slow. Hooked to Windows 10 desktop running Intel I5 10400 CPU which has onboard graphics via HDMI cable.

Nothing special, no gaming.

i purchased this monitor in the summer of 2020. the backlight went out in november of the same year, fortunately it was under warranty and was “repaired”. only to last about 12 months and it has failed again, in the same manner.

samsung customer service says “there is nothing that can be done” just buy a new one. i will certainly never buy another samsung one. i am also shopping for a tv, so this will help narrow the search! they obviously do not stand behind their products.

i have a 24″ that failed in the same manner, so three identical failures in as many years across two products. i am just waiting for the other one to fail as well, should be about that time!.

I bought this monitor back in March 2018. I also purchased extended three year warranty plan to be covered. I also have a Samsung 24″ TV which I use as a second monitor. I noticed early on that the 27″ Samsung I purchased has some flickering in few sections of the scree and the picture on the 24″ TV is actually sharper than on the bigger 27″ screen.

This was surprising to me. The flickering is especially visible on gray background and when the monitor goes into night mode. It’s been getting worse but it was not to the point where you can’t use the monitor.

Nevertheless I though I paid for and the warranty, and would ask Samsung to do something about it. Talked to two representatives. The first one sent me to a shop that doesn’t handle monitors and wasted an hour of my time for nothing.

The second representative was much more helpful. He told me I have to send it to a repair shop, Samsung will pay the shipping, I have to wrap it well. We had some misunderstanding about physical damage of the monitor during shipping but we cleared this up.

What I am not happy about is the fact that I have to work with one monitor for 7-14 business days (if Samsung keeps their promise). Compared to similar services I had with Canon and Dell this is a terrible way to treat your clients.

At this present time I can buy the same monitor for 190$. Samsung is it cheaper for you to deprive your clients from their products and have them go through all the hoops for 190$. Something to consider.

For my future purchases I am now going to stick with LG, Dell, and other high quality brands because Samsung likes to collect but not give back when needed. I was done with Samsung smart phones awhile back.

Now I am done with Samsung all together!.

I bought this 29 inch monitor at best buy after looking at monitors for several weeks and what I could not decide was if I wanted the superfast 1ms response time of a gaming BenQ monitor or if I wanted beautiful colors and a vivid game experience.

I chose this Samsung monitor since I play all types of games from fps games like battlefield 4 to action based games like Skyrim and Bioshock, and boy, am I glad I did! The colors are absolutely magnificent which is as to be expected, if you have ever seen/owned any other Samsung products (like their phones).

The curve makes gaming extremely immersive and seems easier on my eyes than a traditional TV. My spouse loves to watch me play games and we were worried the curve would stop her from watching me but we were wrong even with her sitting to my side she was able to see the whole screen since the curve is not overbearing and even the usual color fading when viewing from an angle was minimal if almost non existent.

I cannot comment on the freesync feature as I am not using it since I do not own a compatible video card. Basically if your looking for the TL;DR. Great monitor for gaming, not the fastest monitor if you need a super fast low 1ms response time 144hz monitor like some CSgo users prefer, However if you like to feel as if you are there with perfect colors and a pleasing and immersive curve then this is the monitor for you.
