So far, I really like these speakers. The Subs are not overwhelming, but the 250W onboard power is plenty and clean. Bluetooth and RCA connections are sound. Like the Eq features as well.

Great pair of speakers with connectivity and enhanced utility. Like the ability to stream music from various devices with ease of Bluetooth capability. Speakers can be used as stand alone PA system, AM/FM radio and capacity add a sub woofer without additional amplifier or receiver unit.

I love everything about this speakers, just one thing I need. Do you have a longer audio cable for it? I dont know how you call the cable that goes from one speaker to the other. please let me know. Thank you.

With all the negative reviews I purchased this product and highly satisfied with its build features, speed, volume, EQs, Surround Features, Quality build, smooth subwoofer. This fits perfectly in my bedroom and packs a good punch with great vibration add the Q Symphony feature and you got yourself an amazing home cinema by Samsung.

Connecting this to my Samsung Q80T QLED. Spent a whole day practicing how to use this product fast if any errors occur. If no sound comes out you just need to learn to use the system to get it to work.

The system works fine. It’s the user who needs to tweak a little wires or buttons. My best option is quick on and off for a restart. Though after the first day my system is working perfectly synced with hdmi arc now everything syncs.

Even my old tv syncs very well with this Samsung soundbar. Very impressed with delivery and packaging thank you bing lee and Samsung. I give this sound bar 10/10.

First, I’ve spent two days attempting to update the firmware on the Q60T. Support falsely states that SmartThings is compatible with the device for updates. While it will let you add the device, SmartThings will NOT let you update the firmware.

I’ve also tried numerous times with several USB’s to update, but they all say “no data,” despite performing all of the recommended troubleshooting (i. e. unplugging/cycling the soundbar). Second, there are audio and lip syncing issues that the sync feature is not able to fix when using the soundbar with the Xbox Series X and PS5.

This is very annoying, as I got the soundbar to work with these consoles. I’ve been hoping that a the firmware update helps address these issues; however, since I can’t get the update, I don’t know. Third, the soundbar itself is fine.

It’s overpriced for what you get, though. Thankfully I got it on sale. I’m on the verge of returning it, after days of troubleshooting and trying to get it to function properly–which is insane.

The sound on free to air is better than the tv but thats about all I can say positive. First of all the sub woofer makes sound too muffled so I have unplugged that, so its basically an expensive shelf.

On Netflix whether I use it through my TV or Foxtel box, voices are so muffled that I am forced to use subtitles. Movies are seriously bad, loud noises are very loud but you still can’t hear the voices clearly.

I have tried all settings, game mode is clearer sound but gives everything else too much punch. I’ve adjusted treble and base but this dosn’t do much. The sound goes out of sync regularly, it will stutter a few times to get back into sync.

I’d try firmware upgrade, but from what I’ve read online that’ll void my warranty. Don’t waste your money.

I purchased the Samsung Soundbar right after Christmas. I have the utmost faith in Samsung products. Their Quality is 5 stars. I’ve never had an issue with their equipment. My TV’s ,sound equipment, or even my Phone.

The HW-A55C Sound Bar delivers Great Sound and the Subwoofer is powerful. I would recommend this to everyone. Pair it with one of their TV’s and you’ll never regret it. BJ’s Carries a number of their products.

I bought this to simply be able to hear the TV better. The internal speakers are terrible, and we would have to turn the volume up very high. This made a big difference. We can keep the volume low and things like watching the news sound great, and when we watch movies, the sound is nearly as good as the high end sound system in the family room.

Connecting it and getting it to work initially was a little confusing, but that was pretty minor.

Bought a Samsung tv and sound bar to compliment it. Used the HDMI to connect to the TV. Love how it turns on and adjusts with the tv. I do not need to use two remotes. Great sound and love the smart sound setting to choose and adjust the sound to the program or what is offered from the movie.

Those in Prime or Netflix that offer the surround sound it adjusts. Immerses you in the action.

The sound is excellent. Setup instructions were complicated, but actual setup was extremely easy. In spit of all the directions in the instructions, it basically set up itself without doing all the complicated steps.

The sound is great! Setup was extremely easy in spite of the instructions. The soundbar basically set itself up. So why the low rating? Because the cap on the remote’s battery storage area is almost impossible to open.

We have dozens of remotes and this is the hardest one to get into the battery area.

I bought this 4-6 weeks ago. Can’t get it too work properly as wireless blue tooth. I finally gave up and hooked up the optical cable. I also have wireless headphones hooked up. This worked fine for a week now the soundbar and headphones want to play at the same time.

I really would like to return this and get my money back.

Love the bass, the rest sounded muddy. Good volume, though. Connected it with optical cable, volume didn’t work with Roku remote. When I connected it with the hdmi cable sound worked with remote and Roku remote.

Its a really good soundbar from Samsung as you would expect and good value for money. I only use it for my upstairs Samsung tv . As my main tv I use my onkyo sound system home cinema.

What you should know: The only audio connections to this soundbar are bluetooth and optical (optical cable included). There is no HDMI-ARC or other type of audio connection. There is a USB port for firmware updates or playing media from a USB storage device.

The soundbar has a display on the front to show mode, settings, volume, etc that lights up with white LED digits behind the cloth covering and disappears when not being accessed. There are manual controls on the rear middle of the top.

The remote has volume control, subwoofer level control, mode setting (standard or surround), sound control (treble, bass, audio sync time), bluetooth pair button, mute, power, and a multi-control for controlling play from a device.

The soundbar can be set to accept control from Samsung infrared TV remotes (default), all infrared TV remotes, or only the supplied remote. It is also possible to control all functions from a Samsung TV remote for 2017 and later TV’s.

My 2016 Samsung TV remote controls volume fine. I assume that the “all TV” setting means that this unit can receive volume commands from many other IR TV remotes. The instructions say to check the website for compatibilities.

Also the soundbar comes with a default setting to turn on and off with the optical input signal which is great. I am very happy with this setup given the $99 cyber deal. Installation was simple. Connect the optical cable to my TV, connect the power cable to the soundbar, connect the power cable to the subwoofer, and plug everything in.

The subwoofer sits on the floor beside my couch which faces the TV. I actually have an older Kenwood 5. 1 surround system installed in my living room but still got this as I wanted something simpler to tie in to automatically work with my TV without requiring turning on, different remote, and too many settings to cycle through (sometimes less is more).

As mentioned, the soundbar turns off and on with my TV, and both my 2016 Samsung TV remote and Firestick remote control the volume fine. The soundbar remote is only really needed to sometimes adjust the subwoofer level.

I bought this on sale for ~$100. Very nice for the price. I’m using in in conjunction with a Samsung UN55ES6100FXZA TV from 2012, connected by an optical cable. Pros: 1) Easy to set up. 2) Sound quality is good and is an improvement over the TV speakers, primarly due to the addition of the subwoofer.

Surprisingly, without the subwoofer, I don’t hear much audible difference between the soundbar and the TV’s speakers, but then my ears are 74 years old — you might hear more improvement. 3) As its manual says, the soundbar volume can be controlled by the IR remote for my Samsung TV as well as the soundbar’s remote.

A nice convenience to eliminate remote juggling for most operations. Cons: I’m deducting a star due to a couple of disappointments. These aren’t that big of a deal to me, but others might find them more bothersome: 1) The TV remote can only change the volume one step at a time, on the release of each press of the volume key.

This is on the actual Samsung TV remote and other remotes programed to control the TV. Using the Soundbar’s remote you can smoothly change through multiple steps. 2) I keep the subwoofer at it’s minimum setting (-6) to because I find it to be overly “boomy” at higher settings.

3) The Streambar is limited to stereo, no Dolby, for sources connected to the TV via HDMI (in my case a DirecTV receiver and a Roku streamer). I suspect this is a limitation of the TV which is 10 years old by now.

I got this for my fiance (and a little bit me too) for xmas and we really like it for the price. Setup was a snap. The directions are clear as day. Just make sure the sound bar is facing so the samsung logo is on the top.

Samsung remotes are a little stupid to open the battery compartment but just hold it in both hands with the back facing up, and use your thumbs to push down and forward on the arrow on the back. (I have arthritis and have no issue with this).

Make sure you check your tvs audio output settings so sound is actually going to your soundbar. And adjust your sound settings on the soundbar too. It seems like a lot of the complaints about this product come down to user error.

The sound is clear and the subwoofer offers pretty great bass with no real distortion. Awesome product for the price. We’re likely buying another one or two for the rest of the house.

Fantastic Sound and the Sale Price I paid for this item made it great. I did find the same unit priced less and not by much. But when QVC had it on sale, QVC’s price was the same or less then others, and the ability to use easy pay if you wish made it even better.

The sound is fantastic for the price and watts, the options available are very easy to adjust if you wish to change them from watching TV, movies, sports, or listening to music makes it that much better.

Clearer voice sounds watching TV saved me from purchasing a unit for that one option. I purchased this Soundbar and Subwoofer the same time I purchased a new Samsung TV from QVC. I was using a different sound system that I wasn’t satisfied with, (happened to be a Quality brand name, 4 times the price too), I hooked up the old system to test against this product.

The difference was incredible! The sound options available with additional options for setting treble, bass, syncing the unit with the TV speakers if you wish to use them with this unit similar to a surround sound, additional adjustments just for the subwoofer makes it a great unit for the price, watts, and wireless feature with the woofer.

Gives you a Great ‘basic’ system for any TV. Setting up the system took 4 mins, just do as it says. I used the Optical/Digital connection per Samsung. I contacted Samsung registering the unit and asked what they recommended using connecting the unit.

Samsung stated use the Optical connection. Optical/Digital hookup is made for sound, plus you end up with another HDMI connection if ever needed. I have it hooked up to the TV, DVD, VHS, Radio/CD player an it’s all good.

Very easy setup. Nice, sleek soundbar. Subwoofer is decent. 320 watts? No. The other negative is that spoken dialogue is not as loud as I had expected. Many pre-digital movies and shows were remixed and remastered for the digital domain.

What you find is that music and explosions are quite loud, however, spoken dialogue is down in the mix. This is probably due to Compression of the sampled audio. The unit comes with presets like Standard, Sports, Clear and Movie.

I would’ve preferred EQ. The bass and treble controls seem a bit redundant, since you can raise or lower the output of the sub. The sub is quite nice and very responsive. Tight and no real slop that I could detect.

I would guess that if other speakers were added, thus reducing the ohms, the amplifier might do 320 watts. I would estimate that 160 watts is probably the reality. For the ease of setup, the wireless subwoofer, the expandability and the sleek design of both cabinets as well as the price, I give it 4 stars out of 5.

The remote is easy to lose so you may want to consider that. All in all, I would buy this again.

This was a replacement for an old Sony 5. 1 home theater sound system. The Sony did just fine, don’t get me wrong, but I was tired of all the wires and my toddler always pulling the speakers off the TV stand.

I was hesitant to go from 5 speakers to a single speaker bar but I’m very happy with the sound. The woofer is much larger than the one that came with the Sony but not to the extent of being ridiculous, just.

larger. The equipment itself is good and black and minimalistic and I love it. I didn’t know the soundbar had a little text display in the center until I turned it on for the first time and I was met with a “Hello” on the display! So cool! Very little set up effort, mostly just finding a good spot for it.

Came with brackets to mount to a wall or something so I’ll probably be mounting it to the underside of the TV center and keep it out of toddler reach. So SO SO SO happy with the size reduction from my big gnarly sound system to this super minimal thing! OH and connecting to it over Bluetooth from my iPhone was a cinch! No more having to use Airplay over our Apple TV to stream music and listen to it loudly in the living room! Really just really happy with this purchase.

Great value for the price I got it (359 USD)! I read a lot of reviews from professional review sites and a lot of them ding this based on better units within the range of its retail price (699. 99 USD), but this works great for me as a Dolby Atmos capable soundbar with subwoofer at the price I paid.

I live in an apartment building and mainly wanted a soundbar that ouputs clear sound without needing to really pump up the volume and this delivers! The independent center channel volume doesn’t really seem to have that much of an effect to increase the volume of dialogue from most media sources.

I specifically got this to try adressing the extreme changes in volume between dialogue and action scenes in. basically every movie or TV show these days. Having to throttle up and down the volume to compensate gets obnoxious when I’m trying to watch a show without bothering my neighbors.

I was hoping this would solve it over the back-firing speakers built into the TV. It’s obviously better than any built-in speakers and it’s certainly improved my viewing experience, but even with the center channel pumped up and even with other sound settings, it hasn’t totally solved the problem.

The small LED display on the front of the unit is enough to control the speakers via remote even though it’s obscured by the speaker grill. Of course, as a smart soundbar, you can connect it to your WiFi network (even without a Samsung TV) and control it via Samsung’s SmartThings app.

Unfortunately, the app uses a slider bar to control the speaker volume, so don’t expect fine control via their app. Instead, I use the smartphone app for my Vizio TV which offers a traditional +/- toggle on its virtual remote (it’s connected to the TV via HDMI cable for eARC – something the included manual doesn’t explain as an option).

Via the SmartThings app over Bluetooth, you can set up WiFi settings so you can cast to the speaker and control many, but not all, of the speaker’s settings. And unlike other apps for smart devices that come with a remote, the app doesn’t replicate the remote control to access those other settings (as of this writing).

For settings like center volume control, you’ll need to actually use the physical remote control. Note: if your TV is on, it’ll prioritize whatever audio is coming out of that, even if there’s no sound (e.

g. your TV is sitting silent at a menu/screen saver). It’ll let you connect to it to cast audio to it, but the speaker will keep its source trained on your TV. The wireless subwoofer is compact but outputs room-filling sound without needing to pump the volume all the way up.

The low profile of the sound bar itself keeps it clear underneath my TV (Vizio M55-E0).

Being an audiophile with a history of surround sound setups for the last two decades, I was intrigued by the option of a soundbar to declutter the living room and consolidate the equipment. Out of the box, the soundbar has a sleek, clean look, and tucks under the legs of the TV for a seamless and unobtrusive look on the entertainment center.

The cord design with the raised plug area allows you to hide the cords behind the TV and the speaker as to not create the eyesore that my wired surround sound system suffered. The cord for the subwoofer was sufficiently long that it could be placed in an ideal location, and not as far the cord would allow.

Pairing the Samsung soundbar with my Samsung Q70 QLED TV in the living room provides the benefit of integration across a single environment, which made the set up of the new system far more simplistic than adding another branded device.

The accompanying manual was quite brief, but my familiarity with the Samsung TV interface made it easier to identify the options for setting up the soundbar integration. There are several options to connect the audio (wired or wireless): Bluetooth; optical cable; ARC/HDMI.

The greatest strength in customization was actually through the TV interface. I found the ability to use the remote for setup limiting, especially with lacking information in the manual on the settings.

The sound quality is solid for a 3. 1 soundbar. I have adjusted the bass level up in relation to the treble and am using adaptive sound. The two areas where I’ve been less impressed compared to my surround system is the depth of the sound and the function of the subwoofer.

With the subwoofer turned all of the way up, the sound is faint and lacks the characteristic bass resonance expected from a separate box. The more I have used the bar, the better I’ve learned the volume controls and have tweaked the center, left and right balance for a better listening experience.

This will not serve as a substitute for the immersive experience of a surround sound system; however, this creates a solic upgrade from the onboard sound of the television for a more engaging experience.

One final area of folding this into the Samsung experience is the integration with Smart Things. The ability to control the sound through the TV remote, the specific soundbar remote or through the ST app helps reduce clutter on the coffee table.

The other great feature is the ability to tap your cellphone to turn the soundbar into a BT speaker.

Part of my less than 5 star review is because my expectation when buying the HW-Q70T is that I would be able to enjoy symphonic mode where the TV (a Samsung QLED 65 known as The Frame) would enhance the matching Samsung Q70T soundbar.

I only discovered I missed the find print that I needed an EVEN LARGER screen to be able to enjoy the symphonic mode. So Ill take part of the responsibility for that error. The subwoofer that is part of the package is subpar at best.

I have it sitting next to me alongside my sofa and can barely hear anything from it. In contrast, I have a 10 year old Polk Audio sub that sounds fantastic compared to the sub included with the kit. The soundbar should come with the following tips that I am going to share with you: Connection to ConnectOne box: Do not waste your time using Bluetooth or even the eARC HDMI connection.

Instead buy a digitial audio cable and dont buy the cheapest one on Amazon or eBay. The digital audio cable uses a fibre optic means to tranmit the sound from the OneConnect box to the Soundbar. Mount it: I realize not everyone has the space or the means to do this but if you just sit it on a bookshelf or even a fireplace mantle (like I did originally) you wont get the air flow that makes the soundbar valuable.

Ive just renovated the house Im living in with my wife so I had my spaces all designed before the TV even arrived. There is a photo below where you can see how the Soundbar appears to float between the Samsung Tv and the Samsung Soundbar.

I used the enclosed mounts, drilled a whole for a small passthru plate and ran the power cable up to where I had the construction workers install a TV mount and a power outlet. I did not use the included TV mount to give it The Frame look but wanted to be able to tilt and move it to the best spot because we have LOTS of windows and flat on the wall gave me too much glare.

I picked this up as an emergency purchase after our other sound bar failed on us. While it’s nice to have surround sound again, this is definitely not 7. 1 as the title suggests. While it sounds okay, it lacks the surround sound functions and tuning of my previous sound bar and the surround sound speakers are not as intelligent.

They seem to play a quieter version of what the front speakers play, as opposed to letting you hear distinct nuanced sounds that may be happening off screen. I have the bass turned up completely and the woofer volume set to it’s highest setting and it is extremely underwhelming.

It is not capable of picking up those lows which can really add to the dynamics of what you are watching. Set up was very easy and everything was synced from the box. However, when using the HDMI ARC input with my Google Chromecast and LEDs, it immediately killed the WiFi signal.

As soon as I shut off the sound bar, WiFi was restored. This is very frustrating, as I have LEDs behind the TV to enhance my viewing experience and now, I am unable to use them, as the workaround was too disable the LEDs, run the Chromecast through HDMI 1 and play the sound through ARC.

Samsung has always been a trusted brand, but this sound bar is way off the mark and is, at best, comparable to the off brand products you can buy from online retailers for half the price. Very disappointed.

Let me start by saying that I did not rate this One Star (which it absolutely deserves) as that rating is generally reserved for kooks complaining about the color of the logo on the box, the delivery man being 15 minutes late or some other such nonsense.

I purchased this to pair with my Samsung Q60T QLED which I love. The unit is nicely made and interfaced immediately. Unfortunately, it was all downhill after that. The sound it not dynamic and simply sounds like a louder version of the TV’s built-in speakers.

Even after putting the various programs through their paces, the sound was flat and uninspiring. I could almost live with that as it was at least clean and uncolored. However, as I later found in other reviews (which I should have read in first place), the rear channels are virtually nonexistent, impossible to hear and frankly worthless.

Regardless of adjustment, the sound from the back is barely audible. In addition, the Woofer gives fourth only a distorted rumble which added nothing to the overall experience. Sadly I am returning this and going with a Vizio 5.

1 which is now hooked up and filling my room with amazing sound from all corners. I am a big fan of Samsung electronics but this Soundbar falls far short of the mark. As a former sound engineer, I would suggest that you stay away from this set unless you are merely looking for a boost in volume and dynamic quality is of no value to you.

Setup was fairly straight forward – may be slightly tedious to connect the rear speakers if it fails to link the 1st time around. Sound – it’s not bad. Overall, it’s a pleasant upgrade from the $100 Samsung Soundbar/Sub I had.

However; I’m certainly glad I did not make this purchase at full price – even on sale at $279. 99, I can’t fully recommend this unit to a friend. Optical Input – I have it connected to my TV via optical input.

For no apparent reason, the sound bar seems to “lose” connection and “mute” itself, even though the volume it clearly on and displayed. The only way I have been able to get sound back on, is by pushing the source button and cycling thru the inputs until I come back to the optical source – then it’ll resume playing.

This is VERY annoying, under any circumstance. Bluetooth – range is horrid to say the least. I walk 15 feet away from the soundbar and it begins to lose connection. Rear Speakers – I wasn’t expecting much, however; these are REALLY subtle.

I’m aware you can adjust the settings and turn them up a tad, but that doesn’t make much of a notable difference. (I guess I should have known better – a true surround sound can’t be compromised. ) Bass – it sounds pretty crisp and clear.

Not a hard hit like you’d get from a Bose, Klipsch or higher end setup, but this bass was fair for the sale price. All in all, this unit fell short for me, even at the sale price. I’ll try using the HDMI connection vs the optical, however; I shouldn’t have to compromise and/or have to deal with faulty equipment off rip.

In addition, I’ve already disposed of the original box, so returning it is more of a hassle than it’s worth at this point.

Sounds great, but Samsung software is very buggy to the point of annoyance and interoperability among their own products is surprisingly (and very sadly) still terribly poor after decades of users complaining about this! Samsung may truly need a COMPLETE overhaul of their software development leadership team (for sure!).

REVIEW >> So, last year I purchased & returned the Q950T (nearly $2k) so was leery of another Samsung. **THE GOOD** installation was instant. Plugged soundbar via eARC to Samsung TV (w. AppleTV over HDMI to TV), connected all speakers & instantly, it all worked perfect.

After minor tuning, sounded incredible for the price (literally, **almost** as good as the Q950T!!). So happy! **THE BAD** HOWEVER, next day I tried to watch TV & normally turn on AppleTV via its fancy remote & nothing worked.

Nada. I manually had to (find &) use original TV remote to turn on TV (vs. Apple remote) and eARC no longer worked either; stuck on “D. IN” never actually establishing connection to the TV again. Never.

I tried all troubleshooting steps recommended & others not listed (am computer engineer :-). Nothing worked. I resorted to plugging an optical cable, which works. In the end, this system is super clunky.

Need to use multiple remotes because my AppleTV no longer turns on the TV; albeit, it does work the volume controls (thank goodness!). With optical connection though, it doesn’t show the big volume numbers on TV screen anymore (0-60) it only shows the little optical connector icon when pressing up/down volume which made me realize how much I use those numerical values to set audio levels.

The sound is good though (shrug). I got this on black friday almost half off deal, but if I had paid full 500 price, would have returned for sure. One final comment — if there is one complaint we keep seeing consistently and repeatedly over the last decade is the incredibly buggy (& sometimes unusable) software and interoperability among Samsung devices.

I have to believe leadership has tried to fix, but whatever has been done is CLEARLY not working. PLEASE consider investing in a visionary and executioner pair who work well together because SO many other manufacturers have already proven it can be done.

Bought this soundbar with sub 2 weeks ago. Did not know what to expect, but do know that I’m quite picky when it’s about sound. So the sound is actually really good, which you can adjust to what you’re listening or watching on.

The bass is really really good as well. After using the soundbar only 3 times, my neighbour was already asking me to lower the bass, while I wasn’t even playing the music loud, and my house has a thick concrete wall inbetween.

so. I moved my subwoofer to the other side of the wall, which was not an issue since the subwoofer has Bluetooth! Unfortanely and fortanely the bass on the soundbar is also quite good, so it wasn’t enough, so I still can’t play that loud yet, even though bass are set on -4 now, which still is bassy.

Bass can be set from -12 up til +6 lol! Recommending this cute beast!.

We’ve had this soundbar for quite a while now and absolutely love the clear sound it produces in our living room. We have it wall mounted with the supplier brackets and it’s so simple and unobtrusive it’s easy to forget it’s there.

The soundbar is wireless so we’ve been able to move it to different spots as our furniture has changed and it always sounds great. We’ve even recommended this to friends and they love it too!.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion. ] I recently purchased the HW-A450 model soundbar with subwoofer with a Samsung TV. The Soundbar synced seamlessly with both the subwoofer and TV without issue.

The added volume of the subwoofer really made my home theatre perfect! The soundbar worked very well for its intended use and make watching movies with my partner that much more enjoyable. I have no issues with this product as of yet, and would definitely push it to my friends if they were looking for a similar product!.

i havnt owned many soundbars. i had a vizio 5. 1 system before and a 2. 1 system, both hooked-up with analog RCA cables. this one, i finally got to hook-up with HDMI-eArc. everything was pretty much plug n play, but you have to play with the TV settings as well as the app.

you gotta use the “smartThings” app on your phone to setup and adjust speaker levels. you can adjust treble, bass, sub, rear, center, upfiring speakers and delay. it also has bass enhancement and dialogue enhancement.

*note that when you use the soundbar, and are going to connect to WiFi, connect to a 2. 4GHz band instead of 5GHz. because i connected to 5GHz at first, and the soundbar wouldnt update. so i had to reset the soundbar by holding “+” and “-” simultaneously for 5 seconds until the backlit displayed “INT” then run it through the setup again with the app.

and then enabled a couple audio settings on my samsung TV (QN90A) i forget what they were called, but they were both off and i set both to “auto” Over the air TV worked fine. Chromecast worked good. but my Xbox had a little bit of audio delay when using Dolby Atmos.

(my xbox was plugged into the TV in the HDMI labeled “game” and the soundbar was plugged into HDMI-eArc) the only options i had on the xbox for audio formats were stereo, 5. 1 uncompressed, 7. 1 uncompressed, Dolby Digital, and Atmos.

and i mainly bought this soundbar for the Dolby Atmos. So what i did to fix that was to plug the xbox directly into the soundbar instead of the “game” HDMI on the tv. i think my xbox still does 120Hz 4k with VRR, but i noticed i dont get HDR anymore.

rocket league seemed good. FH5 seemed good. the Q symphony feature doesnt work if you have Dolby Atmos on i believe. i saw that “TV+soundbar” displayed on my chromecast and antenna TV source, but when i got to the xbox with Atmos enabled, it switched completely to the soundbar system.

and u have to manually turn on Q-Symphony everytime you change source. I still havnt figured out the Tap Sound feature. i talked with samsung support the other day to see if the newer Wifi rear speakers (swa-9500s) were compatible with this soundbar.

and they said yes. (the swa-9500s adds 2 additional upfiring speakers, so u could possibly change this 5. 1. 2 system to a 5. 1. 4 system. so i like the potential to upgrade the rear speakers later. the build quality on everything is pretty nice.

Mostly metal coverings on the soundbar and rear speakers. the sub has a cloth/fabric cover. im still playin with it to see what settings works best for my movies and my video games. it seems that i can only have either HDR or Dolby Atmos on, but not both at the same time.

i like it, it sounds good. there just a lot of tinkering and fine-tuning. which i also enjoy.

Let’s start with the good. -product is great when it worked -I would buy this again if I was guaranteed it worked -great with music and movies. The immersiveness is decent when you consider you only have 2 speakers in the back.

-great app support/integration could be a bit laggy -PRODUCT IS SO GOOD I DIDNT WANT TO RETURN AND OPT TO CALL SAMSUNG FOR SUPPORT TO FIX ISSUE Here is where it gets bad. -sub/rears disconnect intermittently.

-turned off wifi and disconnected router. Still present. (They kept trying to blame wifi and distance from the bar) -replacement unit took 3 weeks to come -when it didn’t work Samsung said I am done with the return period I have to keep it now and they will continue working with me and to send the unit in -begged Samsung with about 10-15 hours of call/on hold time.

Finally agreed to a refund since I called in about the issue on day 3 of ownership and waited for a replacement unit for 3 plus weeks -Samsung till this day is still having issues refunding my money but I trust this will get resolved.

-thank god I bought direct I would hate to see what woulda happened to me if I didn’t. Samsung if you’re listening, stop buying cheap parts internally and sabotaging your sales/clientele. This product is so good I literally want it.

This is hands down better than Sonos. (Bass is not as rich/tight, Samsung over compensates by making it louder but not tighter) overall better than Sonos If you’re listening I am willing to try your product again but I can’t risk my money.

Which you guys are still holding! I’ll be glad to work with you to get another unit in my hands and pay for it once we establish that it works. Your product here is so good that I would return my current product which has zero disconnect issues.

For anyone that buys this, if it don’t work return immediately and buy another one if you wish (heard some units work) Do not fall for Samsungs tricks. Protect your return guarantee (15 days I think).

Earlier this year, I took delivery of a Samsung TV. In the first few weeks of use I noticed how thin and reedy the sound was, so I decided to beef it up a bit, with a compatible soundbar system which would enable me to take advantage of Samsung’s Q-Symphony – their surround-sound simulation which, unusually, delivers output through the TV speakers and soundbar system simultaneously, to provide a fuller sound.

I installed the soundbar and woofer in accordance with the instructions provided and, although the TV and soundbar displays were telling me that the required settings for Q-Symphony were correct and ready to go, I could only get the sound to come out of the TV or the soundbar, rather than both at the same time.

During more than six hours of phone calls to the John Lewis and Samsung technical support teams, and a visit by a John Lewis representative, not one of the numerous people I spoke to had heard of Q-Symphony, or the concept of sound being output to both sets of speakers simultaneously.

Consequently, none of them had any idea how to fix the problem, and the general response was one of denial that the system should work in the way I expected, despite Samsung’s own website saying it should.

Eventually, I lodged a complaint with the Head of Customer Service at John Lewis, whose office arranged for a local Samsung-approved engineer, who was familiar with Q-Symphony, to be sent to my home to assess and resolve the issue.

Onsite testing proved that I was right, it wasn’t working properly! The soundbar was taken away for testing, and was found to be doing what it was supposed to do, and the TV’s motherboard was replaced.

However, the problem persisted and, in the absence of a solution, the engineer’s boss tried to dismiss the problem with the argument that, in the weeks that I’d had the TV and soundbar, I probably hadn’t watched any content which had surround-sound features.

This sounded like utter nonsense to me, so I started trawling through online forum discussions, where I found that I was not alone in experiencing this problem. In one of the threads, I found a highly improbable solution, which involved turning off the microphone situated on the bottom right-hand side of the TV.

As I had nothing to lose, I tried it. and suddenly I had Q-Symphony, working exactly as it should! Since then, it’s made no difference whether the microphone is on or off. I can’t explain why the solution worked, but I suspect it’s a bug in the TV’s software, rather than a hardware issue.

I believe that Samsung’s Q-Symphony TVs and soundbars were first introduced into the UK in 2020, so I’m surprised that members of Samsung’s technical support staff are still in blissful ignorance of this feature.

Likewise, I’m surprised that the same applies to John Lewis’ technical support team and that, in the full knowledge that the technical support representatives were unable to fix the problem, a callout was assigned to someone who was equally ignorant of the product.

I’m also disappointed that the boss at the Samsung-approved TV repair company tried to shut down my legitimate complaint with his, previously mentioned, unfounded excuse about viewed content – I called him after I got Q-Symphony working and told him how I’d done it.

Although he didn’t apologise, he did at least have the good grace to sound embarrassed. I also informed John Lewis that I’d sorted it out myself and, as a token gesture, they arranged for me to receive a John Lewis gift card, the value of which nowhere near reflected the effort I’d put in trying to get the matter resolved, or the inconvenience I’d suffered in the meantime, but to be perfectly frank, I’d simply had enough by then, and I had far more important things to worry about than arguing over the level of compensation I thought was due.

Concerning the performance of the soundbar and woofer, Samsung’s hype is “Do you want the absolute best sound quality when watching a movie on your TV?. Just connect a compatible soundbar. , and soon it will sound like you are actually in the movie.

” Trust me, it doesn’t, in fact the best I can say about Q-Symphony is that it’s an improvement on the sound I was getting from just the TV’s speakers, but that’s hardly a ringing endorsement.

Some issues linking this to a Virgin Media box, Samsung TV and a Panasonic Blu-ray player, but I eventually found a solution by incorporating an optical cable in the set-up. Some initial minor issues with ‘latency’ when matching sound and vision.

However, this is now all resolved by researching on-line and adjusting settings on theVirgin V6 box. After ordering this unit I read a Which review that stated that the bass is “disappointing” and detracted from the experience when viewing action films.

I don’t know what settings were used, but, at 30% power, on a good blu-ray film, this system shakes solid concrete floors and solid brick walls. Any louder would cause physical harm. It’s absolutely excellent.

Voices are crystal clear and well defined, with no fall off in clarity as the action intensifies. Additional, small, rear speakers, purchased separately, really improve the immersive experience, but I find that they need turning off when watching something such as news programmes, as the voices start to come from all directions.

A little odd. Not quite as immersive as my previous Samsung Home Theatre System, but this system makes up for it by delivering far superior clarity and punch from the centre. Once the latency and connection issues were overcome, I’ve found this system to be an excellent purchase.

I bought this as a bundle with a new TV. Having set it up and had a good listen with TV and music audio I dare say even at full price it is worth it. The sound is sublime with high notes and low bass all sounding complete and defined.

I currently have the sound from the TV connected with optical and there is no delay on the sound from the lip movement on the screen. Audio is connected via bluetooth so my phone and tablet connect automatically and again the sound is sublime.

There is a HDMI ARC (audio return channel) that I am not using at this time but with this and the paired Samsung TV you can advance or delay the lip sync if you experience it being out. This sound bar also allows you to connect the TV (if supported) by blue tooth too so you can have a pretty much wireless setup if you wall mount.

Again, with a Samsung TV you can set it up so you only need the one remote as you select the sound bar as the primary audio source and the TV remote allows you to alter the volume. You still need the sound bar remote to make more adjust of the features and set up.

There is also a USB input too. The woofer is an active bass box which means it needs its own power source but it connects to the sound bar wirelessly.

This soundbar will not shake your windows, but honestly, the sound is pretty good. Certainly better than I was expecting at this price. The bass is rich and smooth, without becoming boomy. The sound can fill the room if you crank it high enough, however, the rear speakers are quieter than I wish they were.

They still get the job done, but I wish they were louder. This soundbar has multiple options for Dolby signals as well, including DTS, Dolby Digital, Dolby Digital Plus, and Neo 2:5, if you’re connecting via the optical cable.

There is a noticeable difference between formats, which is good. There is also a dot-matrix display window on the front, hidden behind the fabric, that tells you what source you are connected to at startup.

It also tells you what source you’re switching to, and it briefly displays the volume level when you turn it up or down with the remote. There are also physical buttons on top for power, volume, and source select.

The source select button doubles as the bluetooth pairing button if you hold it down long enough. Setup was remarkably simple: Connect both rear speaker cables to the jacks in the rear receiver, plug in the subwoofer, plug in the rear receiver, plug in the soundbar, and turn it on.

Everything connected in about 15 seconds, and I was done. Bluetooth pairing was also incredibly easy. Just hold the BLUETOOTH button down until pairing activates, then look for the soundbar on your phone or tablet.

Another cool feature with Bluetooth: The display window on the front of the soundbar (which is hidden most of the time) will briefly scroll the name of the device you’ve just connected via Bluetooth.

For example, “Galaxy Tab” or “Motorola Phone” The remote is pretty sleek and ergonomic, and works well.

I’m a full time RVer and the sound quality from the large flat screen TV that came with our 5th wheel was awful. The built-in speakers face rearward and we always had a hard time understanding dialogue.

The Samsung 4. 1 channel soundbar with subwoofer and rear speakers has made a noticeable improvement in the overall audio range, especially voice and bass. It’s probably not as good as a 5. 1 setup would be (and I didn’t realize the difference when I ordered) — but it is SO much better than what we had.

I found out after-the-fact there is no dedicated center speaker. Under 4. 1 the two front satellites ‘matrix’ the sound to form an invisible center speaker (this is using Dolby Pro Logic decoding). With 5.

1 the center channel is discrete (in Dolby Digital 5. 1/DTS decoding). The center channel is used mainly for dialogue in movies. Contrary to other reviewers, everything worked well after setup including the Bluetooth connectivity, and the rear satellite spkrs are very distinctly audible.

(I mounted them on the wall behind where we sit. ) We just had to make sure to select “Surround Sound” as the option both on the TV and on the soundbar settings. Time will tell how well it holds up while traveling.

My Mother in-law had a television which lost one of its speakers and was about 10 years old. She asked me to evaluate its replacement or repair. Based upon the age and technology improvements I recommended replacement.

She; however was reluctant because it still had a beautiful 10/80 picture, and met her needs. I researched replacement and discovered the cost was between $500-1200. On a fluke I checked sound bars and found this for around $160.

I bought it and installed it for her and she is completely happy. The addition improved her viewing experience and allows her to use the Bluetooth function to play music, podcasts, and talk radio from her telephone.

If you are an audiophile this is not for you. The only complaint I have is it is limited to an optical input, without HDMI-e-Arc. Unfortunately to operate the unit requires its own remote, but for $150 and great sound she loves it.
