20 Best Salsa For Fish Tacos (2023 Updated)

I have always loved Taco Bell Salsa Verde, and even back in the 70s in Colorado I’d order a “green burrito. ” Back East the TB staff didn’t have a clue what I meant but at least I could use the little packets till they wre discontinued, then they reappeared, then disappeared again.

Tonight I made myself some enchiladas con quest con salsa verde using the last of my stash of little packet, then went online to see if maybe, just maybe, the salsa verde was available in stores. It will be, though the store locator isn’t working.

I hope it’s the same as the restaurants used to use.

I love this green sauce our family calls it lol. I love it on my taco salad or when my husband makes homemade enchiladas because I can’t have the Red Tomato sauce he does the Taco Bell sauce for me it’s amazing.

I bought this salsa to be a backup if we run out of our in- house salsa. After using it I realized that wouldn’t work. I ended up blending it in with our regular salsa. It has a more watery consistency( like found in the cheaper Mexican restaurants)and the veggies were very coarsely chopped.

It may work for some, but we were looking for a thicker salsa.

It took using a coupon matched up with on sale for me to finally purchase. I have purchased many times about 2-3 times a month since and buy both the mild and medium varieties.

I was excited when I bought this brought it home. Made myself a big bowl of nachos. Poured plenty of this on them too because it smelled great. Well, after a few bites as I started to really get into my tower the over whelming taste of jalapeno began to come through.

It actually turned me on this. I tried another serving from the jar threw it out. When I smelled it I only smell straight jalapeno. It also upset my reflux. I personally like the flavor of chapotle jalapeno.

I added this to my chicken enchilada sauce and it turned out soooo yummy! I started by slow cooking 2 breasts of chicken in chicken stock green enchilada sauce for about 8 hours. Then added the Desert Pepper Salsa to it and topped it off with pepper, and dairy free mozzarella, non dairy cream cheese as a substitute for sour cream.

It was absolutely delicious and my family loved it! We also like to use this with our gluten free corn chips almond flour tortillas for a healthier less gassy version of chips salsa, tacos, and enchiladas.

It is very mild but has a lovely spice and citrus to the after taste. Nice soft texture if you don’t like chunky salsas. I found this at another store and bought it on impulse to try it. Absolutely incredible! No other salsas on the market compare to the taste. I had to order a case from Walmart online because they don’t carry this flavor in my store.

Wellsley Farms Organic Salsa is a versatile and delicious salsa. I buy it often and use it liberally.

Its delicious, not only as salsa but you can cook some veggies in it too. I took it to a party and everybody dove into it. Bonus is it’s all organic too. Definitely buying more for the pantry, because it’s packed in glass jars.

This salsa is chunky sweet and delicious. Has just a touch of tingle to it so my Mrs. can enjoy it as well. C I add in a couple habaneros to spice it up when it’s just me enjoy it. Flavors are amazing.

I think some of the positive reviews on this are shillin’ because the best way to describe the taste of this would be to have named it “sour grass in a jar” or maybe “mashed up caterpillars and lime”.

I bought it for fajitas in the hopes it would save me time messing with avocados. MISTAKE. This tastes NOTHING like guacamole and it is extremely misleading. There is more soybean oil in this than there is avocado.

I just made fajitas, poured this on. RUINED them. Can’t eat my dinner now. I like herdez chips, but this stuff is straight up gross! Granted, I have tasted some really gross salsa because I am one of those people who tastes bugs when I eat cilantro, but I tasted NO AVOCADOS in this at all so I don’t think it was merely all the salsa ingredients that have ruined it for me.

What I am saying is that yeah, everybody has different tastes BUT THIS ISN’T GUACAMOLE AT ALL. It shouldn’t be named that, people. You need to change the name because even though there are enough positive reviews to throw people off, many are clearly saying the same thing and that is that this is nothing like what people are expecting when they read “guacamole”.

This Salsa Verde by Goya is amazing! I recently fell in love with the taste of salsa Verde and even started cooking with it more often. This is great to use in casseroles and you can find many recipes online to make stuff with it instead of just using it as a salsa.

The taste is on point, and the texture is good too. This is one of my most favorite brands of salsa Verde.

This salsa is so good! But I can’t seem to find it in mild so it’s a bit too spicy for me but the taste itself is really good! I purchased this at Walmart for an inexpensive price. But again I wish it was a bit less spicy.

There is no other salsa that does as much for a bowl of chili, a grilled cheese sandwich or anything grilled. We loved it with eggs, chilaquiles, tacos, enchiladas and shrimp. difficult to find when you want it, we order online to assure that there is always enough in the house.

This salsa is powerfully full of flavor but not too hot. The jar says Hot but I think it would be better to say nearly hot.

Great tasting Salsa. Love that it has little bits of tomato in the salsa. It is not hot. I bought it at Walmart. It was a great value. Not expensive compared to other like products. I love eating this with Tacos, Chips, and Eggs.

We use this salsa on tacos and the taste and texture make the tacos much better, also this salsa has no high fructose sugar that you find in most other salsa, the real stuff with no extra sweetening.

We’ve been regularly making a recipe that uses salsa verde and I thought we’d venture out and try new salsas. This one is not a repeat–the onion flavor was overpowering to me. The flavor was not as good as several others that we’ve tried.

I love cherry salsa. This one is a great recipe–not too spicy and not too sweet. Hits the perfect middle ground. Serve with a salty chip for that sweet and salty snack everyone loves. I love a locally made cherry salsa at my regional winery and the Cherry Republic salsa, but this is a close second.

Excellent salsa. Chunky, but not overrun with pieces of vegetable. Phenomenal flavor! Highly recommend for salsa lovers. Competitive pricing compared to other jarred salsas. Definitely find this near you.

Arriba makes the greatest salsa in the world! There’s no sugar added and it’s as close to a south western salsa as one can get. If you like the fruity Italian style salsas you get from the grocery stores, you may reconsider before getting Arriba.

Now, with that said, I am very upset that one of my cases had four jars unsealed and were bad. At close to $5 dollars a jar, I was dissapointed that four of the jars had lost their seal and had leaked all over the box.

I didn’t have my receipt because I had never had a problem before with my orders that came directly from Arriba. I ordered from Walmart because their price for Arriba was less expensive than Arriba’s website advertised per case.

So, I saved some by getting it from Walmart, but lost those savings and then some because four out of 6 jars were no good. I ordered 4 cases of 6 jar for a total of 24 jars. I haven’t opened the other two cases yet, but will update my review pending any further problems.

I have to assume the shipment came directly from Arriba and not from Walmart, but I am now forced to find out where this shipment came from so as to avoid having to deal with this problem in the future.

Again, the salsa is the best I have ever had and I have been buying it for several years with success. This is the first time I bought it from Walmart and found out that four jars were recieved with the jar’s lid seal being broken.

You want to make sure, that the jar’s lid is slightly depressed due to the vacuum they apply to the product to make sure it’s fresh and not spoiled. If the cap isn’t depressed slightly before opening, check to see how easy the jar’s lid come off.

I’m a strong male and usually have a challenge getting the lid off the jar, so if it comes off easy, and the lid wasn’t depressed, and you don’t hear the vacuum escape from the jar when opening it, don’t use the product and report it to Walmart or Arriba.

I’m hoping this was a fluke. All said and done, I will continue to use this product because it is the best salsa on the market if you like spicey salsas. As for buying from Walmart again, I’ll probably order again from them, but I will bring my cases unopened to the nearest store and will open them in front of their staff just in case their are any problems.

They’ve always come through when we’ve had any problems in the past!.

Found this in San Antonio in 1993. Can’t find it anywhere near us here in Michigan. We order it by the case. Awesome flavor and just the right heat. The “hot” is too hot for me only because it masks the awesome roasted/smoky flavor.

The “mild” doesn’t have enough zip. I am not a fan of the typical tomato sauce/paste based salsa you seem to always get out of a huge jar in your average restaurant. This stuff is waaaayyyyy better!!! Try a jar, you wont be disappointed.

This salsa the only jar salsa my family of 6 will buy. It has a great taste. It is very authentic without being tomato flavored like many jar salsas. Simple ingrediants without chemicals or sugar. My family loves it best cold.

It is not the cheapest salsa, but well worth the extra price. Not available in many stores so it is a great option available at Wal-Mart. My sister and I even give it as gifts to each other since it isn’t always in stock.

This salsa tastes like marinara, I’m not even expecting it to taste like authentic Mexican restaurant salsa because obviously “Taco Bell mild salsa” isn’t gonna taste authentic, but it’s not even close, at all.

It tastes like there’s too much of an ingredient (such as additives? Salt?), therefore the taste of marinara. Maybe it’s the mild aspect that leads me to believe this. But you could legit dip mozzarella sticks with this salsa.

I love a diablo sauce of taco bell but this is a very good sauce also yoy can put on your favorite cruncky or soft taco. Taco bell has a very good sauce and you can choice one. Osnt expensive and of course i recommended.

This salsa is tangy and delicious! It’s a thin salsa that is not spicy but the flavor packs a punch and really lights up your taste buds! I love to add it to a breakfast burrito or eat it straight with some tortilla chips.

Love that the ingredient list is minimal and I don’t feel bad for eating it. A refrigerator staple in my house now. So, so good.

Purchased this a few days ago. Needed something to add to my meals but not heavy on calories (watching my weight). My curiosity was growing, would it be any good? As soon as I got home I grabbed a tablespoon and popped it open.

I gave it a quick stir and popped the spoon into my mouth. First impression was humm. oh maybe this was a mistake? You can definitely taste the tomatillo. Kind of a sour taste with hints of cilantro and avocado coming through after a few seconds with a tiny bit of heat.

I thought, maybe this is not for me. I put it back in the fridge and debated whether to take it back or try mixing it with something in the slow cooker. Within a few hours I gave it a second taste. This time I knew what to expect in regards to taste.

Oh!! This is kinda tangy but good! Needless to say I have been waking by the fridge every couple of hours and grabing a spoon full. I made carne asada tacos and added this and my husband loved it no need to add lime to his tacos.

I just made frijoles de la olla (pinto beans slow cooker on the stove) and put some in a bowl with a spoonful of this salsa and it’s amazing! I highly recommend!.

My family has became addicted to this wonderful tasting product. Tastes super fresh, and adds a healthier option on sandwiches. We usually buy around 3 containers a month and put it on Ramens, tacos, you name it.
